I've just made a similar post. Never have I ever said I will uninstall this game, but #########. No chance I'm playing until they fix this BS.

Pretty sure this is the last update of the year. So you might be waiting awhile unfortunately.

I mean what's the middle ground? Take a look at these forums and the discussions on steam or reddit. The community can't even admit that SWF's are an issue, that SoloQ is disgusting to play and that Killer gameplay sucks if you aren't playing an op top tier Killer. So what really is the middle ground here? There's three to four different sides to this game, that neither the community will discuss so why would BHVR then develop anything actually meaningful?

I mean, from what I've seen Haddonfield was pretty widely agreed to be in a better place. Crotus Prenn and FCC were wildly over done. A couple others needed some slight adjustments. I found the rest personally to be fine. So I guess changes on a map by map basis would have been more of a middle ground than just complete reversion and then some on top.

when dbd stops doing things like referring to killer players as "evil" maybe we can consider that . but until then and until they admit and fix their overt survivor bias .. things will never ever change . remember … if survivors leave they can be replaced… if a killer leaves .. the game ends.

You need to lay off the YouTube videos. Most of your comments are the typical lines we see the notorious content consumers parrot over and over on this forum. If you need an empty map in order to get good results then that's a skill issue. Most players play both sides, albeit with a preference for killer or survivor. Playing one side doesn’t give you much perspective.

  • The devs can't seem to get the concept of normal mode. I don't want hard mode but i also don't want easy mode. Why is it always one extreme or another?

  • Was excited to hop on now that 2v8 is gone but I feel almost bad to be playing. Sorry in advanced guys. Not all of us need a barren map to get good results.

Trust me, there aren't enough IMOs in the world to soften some of my more vicious opinions. They will never be revealed.

But I try to mentally keep track of some of the more vocal forum members and how their takes and little tidbits they reveal about their lives connect, and I try to shape them into something whole in my mind, since we're all just words on a screen. It's a whole lot of silly assuming, but it's an amusing pastime, and some patterns do start to emerge.

It's exhausting because players have been having the same exact conversations for nearly a decade now

Funny thing, I occasionally go hunting through old posts looking for some slice of information I want and I'll end up skimming a post from 2020 or something and it's like watching the same people have the same exact discussions, with some people being short and aggressive, and some being thoughtful and detailed—except they've all been banned lol

DBD and the community is akin to having a really toxic spouse that you're too invested in to divorce (in my opinion 😏).

Yeah, I feel this way, like I'm in a bad relationship and I can't leave because I've invested too much time.

I'm not above admitting that the exit survey debacle was incredibly frustrating because of how juvenile it was.

Juvenile is the word. It sometimes feels like you're talking to angsty, faux-persecuted teenagers. There's been posts here where people subtlely reveal their age ranges with some personal info and many seem to be 30-45ish, and I'm always amazed to see these people who I've classified in my mind as fully grown adults get genuinely pressed about a dude in a Mad Hatter top hat and a leopard speedo doing rapid squats, or the ones who get mad that people abandon during the mori because they need to rub the win in their face.

It's a normal thing to lose your cool sometimes or to tap out I think.

This is true though. I noticed when the current ptb drama got really loud and things were looking bleak, a lot of familiar faces quieted down. It's all quite draining.

    "It's all quite draining"

I literally don't have the mental energy to care anymore. It's true what you said, about reading older posts and it's just everyone repeatedly arguing about the same things. I've removed any and all expectations for this game, because expectations just lead to disappointment. As long as killer is still fun for me, I'm here. It's my only saving grace because I hate playing survivor now.

I haven't got any screenshots regarding Abandons though, aside from when we last got official stats and they said matches with hatch, DC, and abandons don't count in

    official

     KR/ERs.

Whoa what? The whole match is tossed for these things?! This is almost every single match that happens!

Making hatch a win condition would increase slugging for the 4k.

It's already pretty bad but we could just solve slugging for the 4k. First of the two people who gets downed can self-recover in 30s, or they can fast bleedout in 30s and rob the killer of the kill. Both options would help convince killers to hook instead of slug. Why have the hatch anyway if we're going to treat it this way?

Hatch's only purpose is to ensure the game comes to an end. Prior to hatch, people could have stand offs that lasted hours (who has that sort of time on their hands lol honestly). So hatch was put in so either the survivor leaves and games ends, or killer closes it and the countdown starts.

Re abandons, as I also said, we don't have any info regarding that so it might function slightly different since abandoning happens quite a lot more. For all we know it might count games where one abandon happens but not games with multiple (since that means slugging, and slugging isn’t a win condition). That's all my assumption though. Since Peanits got a new role, he isn’t around here anymore. He was the one who knew the ins and outs of the system and shared what he could.

Micheal Myers, could even pair him with a survivor like Laurie. Have the film take place on a spooky holiday perhaps? Call it something like “Black Friday” maybe?

I saw a movie once about a guy who would come out on Halloween. He'd only kill on Halloween, and his sister would be scared but prepared on Halloween. But every Halloween he'd get away with it. I think it was called, The Guy Who Couldn't Stop Killing.

  • He was unhappy he lost and lashed out. That's all. If you were running a meta build he'd have probably said the same thing, that you deserved it for your sweaty build. I wouldnt let things like this bother you. Personally, I don't even look at my opponent's build in endgame. I just leave.

The individual, personal killer stats are not inflated. I never said they were. They're accurate. That's what I proved.

But the overall stats they relaese to us, they've said that DCs are excluded. I put a screenshot above of a dev saying so. It's old, and I know there are more quotes, I just can't find them (@Nazzzak maybe has some screenshots?)

So I'm saying the non-personal numbers they show us are likely deflated (not inflated) because of the subtracted DCs since, I'd venture to guess (based on my own experience), matches with survivor DCs are usually killer wins. So a lot of killer wins are subtracted from the global numbers they show us.

I can only make speculations, obviously, since no one wants to explain anything to us, but if I can't trust some of the numbers, it's hard for me trust any.

Yeah i have a number of them.

I haven't got any screenshots regarding Abandons though, aside from when we last got official stats and they said matches with hatch, DC, and abandons don't count in official KR/ERs. Prior to that, Peanits has said before that matches with hatch and DCs don't count. So stands to reason that Abandons function in the system the same as a DC. If they did count DCs and abandons, then they'd have to count hatch as an escape and I'm not sure how I'd feel about that tbh. Making hatch a win condition would increase slugging for the 4k.

In regards to personal MMR, if someone DCs (and presumably abandons) or gets hatch, then the killer doesn't get any sort of MMR increase or decrease for that particular survivor (and neither does the survivor themself), but still will for any other survivors sacrificed/escaped that match (and how much MMR they get or lose depends on the individual survivor's MMR - you get more increase for sacrificing a higher MMR survivor than a lower MMR survivor). That's because MMR is treated as a 1v1v1v1v1. I suppose this is to stop people from ping ponging between MMR brackets. But I could be wrong.

    Hello everyone,

Thanks for so many answers. I must say I am kinda amused. While some people really explained what they do in game or on a personal level I find it funny that the most upvotes just went to the "I give up, there is nothing I can do" fraction.

How can it bethat some of you try to make the best out of it and get shamed (down voted) for improving or helping to improve others while others just drop dead?

Why does it feel more and more like some people on this forum really think that as soon you get unhooked you just stand there afk? How do you want to play? AFK Skill Check Simulator on Gens or do you want to show the Killer who is the boss and try your best? Why do you even start when you say "You get tunneld everymatch and I don´t want to play."

How is it possible that this is so tolerated?

Most regulars on this forum have been playing for awhile, have seen it all, and are probably just tired at this point. Their tolerance levels are low.

But to the question of what to do, it's impossible to say since your next move (as some others have pointed out) is really dependent on a number of factors. Killer, pallet and tile RNG, map, perks, etc. In some situations i would understand if a survivor just stood there and let themselves get downed (ie hooked in a deadzone, no DS or OTR, and your unhooker doesn't bother to try and take a hit or aggro).

  • It doesnt count in the official stats, much like a hatch or DC doesnt count in those. It shows as an escape in the personal stats page but I've seen people claim they've noticed it doesn't affect their overall rate. Maybe someone can test it. I would but I don't have a stats page.

As long as you keep buying cosmetics, nothing will change. That's the reality of it.

It used to be, but not anymore in my opinion. I feel like the cosmetic sales have dropped off, at least that's the feeling I get from the latest Rift.

The real life-blood has always been licensed chapters. If all of us solemnly swore to not buy any cosmetics or chapters for the next 3 months, or even took it a step further and decided to stop playing altogether, they would just have to release Resident Evil Part 3, Silent Hill Part 2, or FNAF Part 2 and we'd be replaced in a heartbeat. And if those players leave? Do the same thing again. Eventually some will stay long enough.

DLCs are definitely the lifeblood, though I feel survivors are bigger cosmetic consumers than killers. That's why for every one new killer cosmetic there's multiple for survivor. I feel like DLC consumption is probably higher among those who play mostly killer. Survivors are ultimately just different skins while new killers offer a fresh experience. I could be wrong though.

I've noticed certain patterns and trends too. My overall view is close to yours. I find survivor mains are mellow and thoughtful but defintely more passive and easily beaten down, and killer mains are louder and more prone to quick emotional crash outs and inexplicable victimhood. But I think those are the extremes. The people with more even personalities seem to either play both or just not take the game so seriously. But, from what I've seen in the forum, I think a lot of killler mains are extreme introverts and the power role is a way to break free of that, and things that infringe on that fantasy hit them hard.

I can attest to your assessment though. I waffle back and forth between roles and currently don't know what I prefer, and I'm probably one of the most unapproachably quiet, cold, unfriendly introverts you could meet but will be loud as hell and say the most outrageous things once you know me. So both generalizations apply.

Yeah, maybe introverts and extroverts are the wrong distinction. I guess passive personalities vs assertive personalities might be more accurate?

They might play both roles but for them it comes down to what gets them the most view$. Is it survivor winstreaks or killer winstreaks?

Idk, there are more survivor players, but killer streaks are probably more interesting to watch for majority of viewers. Me personally adore to watch Ohtofu/Angelz/Dino/Alby winstreak lately and I choose to watch it over every other stream.

But overall, what's your point? That they don't honest with their opinion just because it will give them more views? All of them? Idk, if you are collecting views, it's more reasonable to me to make happier more casual players instead and say things like "oh finally these bad evil killers will know their place".
And yes, they are content creators in first place, that's why they are interested into this game be alive in long term instead of destroying core of the game which works for 10 years just to make more casual part of community happier here and now, but let the game float in the same waters where other asymmetries are swimming now.

My point is that i believe they're more motivated by what keeps the money coming in than what is actually healthier for the game and broader player base. There's a reason clickbait and ragebait are so rampant among content creators in general.

I also think it's pretty evident that alot of popular DBD content creators are burned out and only keep playing because it pays the bills. A number of them have tried in recent times to go variety but either revert back to DBD because their viewer numbers go down (they've said this themselves) or they stick with streaming variety but majority of their tiktoks or YouTube videos are still DBD focused, so they're keeping their foot in the door to maintain viewers. A very prominent DBD content creator does the latter but I'm not sure I'm allowed to name them here per the rules.

Also, "finally these bad evil killers will know their place," is making assumptions about my views. Saying that I don't think content creators are neutral as you claim shouldn't be a killer or survivor sided opinion.

I'm not shifting from the point. I have nothing to say about it because I agree with it. Hyperbole is a problem that BOTH sides are guilty of. Don't act as if survivors don't do the same. They screeched and cried so insanely hard they got a low pick rate, mid-tier killer completely gutted into the worst killer in the game for no good reason.

That feels like a rewriting of history. I've been in the thick of this forum for a long time, and there was unanimous agreement among survivors and killers that old SM was bad for the health of the game. The only ones that defended her were the ones who saw no issue in wasting people's time by locking games down for an hour.

  • As long as you keep buying cosmetics, nothing will change. That's the reality of it.

    @cogsturning said:

Survivors aren't being loud enough. The feedback from the last two ptbs has been dominated by killers screaming, crying, and ripping out their hair. The forum has been heavy with them trying to direct the narrative by threatening to uninstall because of things as minor as pallets or tbagging (and it's clealrly working). You're going to have to match that overly-emotional intensity if you want to achieve anything.

I've always had a theory about that, and it comes down to what sort of personalities are drawn to what sort of role. I think introverts are more likely to drawn to the survivor role. They're generally more passive and reserved and don't like to make waves. When they don't like something, they leave quietly. Meanwhile, extroverts are likely more drawn to killer. They are naturally outspoken and don't care about making waves. When they don't like something, they have no qualms about speaking up.

There's obviously outliers and this is a generalisation. For example, I'd consider myself an introvert and I now prefer killer to survivor, but it's definitely a distinction I've noticed over the years.

Changing matchmaking has four problems given what BHVR has said / we've seen:

1: To have a better matchmaker, you need to give it more time. More time means people sit in the lobbies longer.

2: At the upper extremes you're just going to have Nurse/Blight and SWFs, and as you mentioned BHVR already decided not to go down that route for the blowback they received.

3: Measuring skill in DbD is incredibly hard and they have said they didn't like the old rank system because it more measured how frequently someone played and not skill.

4: BHVR has said that according to their data players are usually matched up pretty well based on MMR. Unless they are just lying about that, it requires them changing a system they think is working.

Given all of those issues, I don't know how they actually overhaul matchmaking unless they changed their minds on one or more of those issues.

Though I think it would be funny given how QoL has gone if they nudge the soft cap up a trivial amount after a long PTB and declare success.

Yeah, past experience has told me not to hold my breath on proposed changes lol I suspect we'll have a repeat of the testing we had a number of years ago. They'll try a number of different changes over the course of a week or so, and ask us which feels better. I could be wrong but that's my expectation.

  • I have generalised anxiety disorder in real life, and have done my fair share of exposure therapy. When something makes me anxious I just ease myself into it anyway. It's never as bad as my mind tells me it is. So yeah, I don't do avoidance. If the worst thing that happens to me in a game is that someone repeatedly crouches up and down at me, life is good.

Except all these "killers DBD content creators" are both sides players, who have a lot of survivor world records and overall play survivor on level you won't be even close anytime soon? So maybe they see slightly bigger picture, don't ya think?

Tbf, content creators priority will always be views. They might play both roles but for them it comes down to what gets them the most view$. Is it survivor winstreaks or killer winstreaks? Hens was honest about this not long ago when he said he's a content creator first and a DBD player second.

We've got the abandon system, which has allowed them to make it look like survivor escape numbers are far better than they actually are.

    So quicker losing and gaslighting.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4030265#Comment_4030265

The thing I don't get: why even bother? If this is BHVR's stance, just keep pumping new content until the game collapses under its weight. But they actively denied themselves money by delaying content and then failed to deliver on multiple things they said would be coming.

Ah that's right, the abandon system too. Dunno how I forgot that one.

Next up is the matchmaking overhaul, though iirc the last time they touched matchmaking was just after Chucky's release and content creators kicked up a stink. So I'll make sure to have my popcorn ready for that fiasco, and the inevitable backtracking on that too 🍿

  • I don't really play DBD at all when 2v8 is on, purely because it affects my 1v4 queue times. But it's only, what, 3 weeks now? I've just been catching up on other games instead. I don't think it's that big a deal.

Actually there's another thing that make me don't go for 8 hooks on purpose: it's basically letting survs win.
I hate when this happen to me (someone letting me win), so I'm as hard and relentless as I can be, punish any mistake and expect the same from my opponents in any game.

If a surv that should've escaped didn't because he/she was screwing around I personally drag them to the exit and I refuse to escape if the killer gives me hatch or do shenanigans that allowed me to leave when I'm a surv.

It's really not letting the survivors win. I play for 8 hooks but I time manage myself as well. I'm not spending half my game looking for a survivor that's purposely hiding, for example, because it's also on the survivors to realize their hook states are a team resource. I also won't overcommit to a strong looper. Their weakness tends to be altruism and that's where I focus on getting them.

People who 8 hook then kill don't play by "8 hooks or nothing." That's the goal but it's really about time and map management, and honing your skills. It's about purposely avoiding the path of least resistance.

And ultimately, it's about keeping my interest in the game. I need challenge to stay engaged. I still win most of my matches playing this way, and when it's not a win it tends to be a draw. On the odd occasion I walk away with a loss but I don't even care because I know the better players won, and I'm okay with that.

  • The QOL initiative went exactly as I assumed it would. Very lacklustre. Only good thing to come out of it was the visible hook counts. Probably the only thing, actually, though I acknowledge it was supposed to be a survivor focused year (per the anniversary stream).

  • 1. 30-40s is good from both roles. I feel it doesn't swing the game too far in either direction

    2. I personally aim for 8, but 6 is fine

    3. A month is a good compromise i think. Gives casual players a chance to test and adapt, not just the hardcore players

    4. 3K/3E

    5. Personally, I just try adapt. If it's unadaptable for me, then i avoid using whatever it is (killer, perk, add on, etc).

  • A few more games like that and those new players will find a different game to play. It shouldn't happen. It's not fun for either side.

  • @The_Count said:

DbD becoming more braindead is getting on my nerves too.
I hate young people SO MUCH! Most people from my generation like to understand and learn things instead of mindlessly smash buttons, but the vastly majority from these younglings these days seems to only want to play with their undeveloped brains turned off.
I made a mod for Stellar Blade that messes up with the same table that has the values for the dodge and parry windows.
They have a default value of 0.19 and I had imbeciles asking me to make a variation of my mod that increased these windows by FIVE TIMES. A WHOLE SECOND for you to make a perfect dodge or parry?! God damn it! Go learn how to play the game!

Showing my age, but I'm from the time where you'd get to the final level of the original Super Mario Bros, die, and have to go all the way back to level 1. The internet wasn't a thing, so none of us knew any different back then. I think the popularity of shorts, reels, and tiktoks have created a generation with a need for instant gratification. People aren't keen on investing time to learn. DBD isn't that sort of game. From recent releases and reworks (both killer and survivor) though, I think they're trying to lean that way.

  • Honestly, just take it as a compliment. You played so well they assumed you were cheating

  • Definitely sounds like a break is needed for you. Hopefully we will see you back in a few months!

    who has fault on that?

The devs. Flat out, full stop. The devs are at fault here.

Here's the thing. And I understand that gen rushing and tunneling get compared a lot, even though they aren't identical opposites. I do it to try and explain the mindset in this case.

Hard tunneling at 5 gens is not a response to anything. You are taking a comeback mechanic (tunneling) and using it immediately because there's nothing in the game to stop the killer from doing that. There's no restriction to it, no limitation, and the only downside to tunneling is the exact thing that people complain about as the "reason", including you in this exact post.

Hard tunneling focused on one survivor and leaves 3 people to do largely whatever they want. People seem completely surprised (or some are enraged) when those 3 are doing gens. For free during that time.

And tunneling right away involves aspects that are determined by how the killer plays: how fast can you locate survivors, close out chases, zone, loop, and mindgame, or even using the killer kit effectively. The longer those things take (which is skill expression) the more time survivors have to do gens largely for free.

Which touches on the other thing:

I know that not many will approve with me in this point but sadly Survivors dictate the game

Absolutely, 100% backwards and is honestly part of the problem. The killer dictates gameplay, survivor gameplay is a reaction to the killer. If the killer is afk, the game is "do gens and leave", the only reason people aren't able to do that is because they have to react to what the killer is doing.

These reaction is called "pressure", and it's "doing something other than gens because they have to". The fact that 2025 dbd killer players don't understand this is also a failing of the devs.

And you can demonstrate that the killer drives gameplay:

If a survivor goes into a match with the intention of "gen rushing" and the killer decides to chase them... They can't gen rush. You physically can't work on gens with the killer chasing you unless the killer allows it consciously and actively.

If the killer goes into a match with the intention of "tunneling" there's nothing you can do to stop that. You can try to body block. Until you're downed and the killer goes back to tunneling. And, coincidentally, you've given the killer more pressure and less gen progress for having done so.

The other main reason tunneling is not a response, is because tunneling is a comeback mechanic. You can resort to tunneling late or end game as a "fall back" or comeback mechanic and still get a kill or more out of it. You. Cannot. Ever "resort to" gen rushing once someone is out of the game.

And that's not possible, again. Because in 3v1 the entire survivor team it's occupied by the killer. Which is how 4v1 could almost be, with 3 of them occupied, but people opt to allow survivors to do gens for free and focus on one because it's easier and pays off immediately when it works.

The only "punishment" for hard tunneling at 5 gens is that the other survivors will do gens when left alone. So "gen rushing" is an immediate consequence of hard tunneling. Period.

Limiting tunneling early would help fix both issues. But, as we've seen on live, you can make gens take up to an hour and it doesn't lessen tunneling. Instead, it actively made it worse.

"The fact that 2025 dbd killer players don't understand this isalso a failing of the devs"

It's the lack of an actual tutorial system come back to bite the devs on the behind. They left players to go to YouTube to figure out how to play, to watch cherry-picked clips from content creators, and then try to copy them. Those clips will never show the times their tricks and strategies and builds failed or backfired on them, they only share the times they succeed, so players are confused as to why it's not working as well for them and assume it's because of reasons A, B, or C. Then they come here and complain all about it.

  • I think the current system is fine. Once upon a time when someone DC'd, it was an automatic 3v1. The devs threw in bots, which can be painful but it's still something to try and balance the odds and make the DC'd person less missed. Increasing penalties won't suddenly make people be able to manage their emotions better. They'll just keep DCing their way out of the game completely, and at the end of the day BHVR are a business. They don't want people to leave, even the DCers. I also don't see alot of DCs in my game, so for me it's not really an issue.

  • I just play normally. Friendly killer isnt my thing. I just don't go out of my way to be a jerk or anything.

  • It's always worse during 2v8. I avoid DBD during this time.

  • I never noticed this but now it's gonna annoy me forever 😩

  • I've been here long enough to remember when this community used to criticise the devs for not releasing enough surveys.

It's not like you are gonna be complaining about Lara or Jill compared to Blight and Nurse, survivors dont have unique powers its just the classes, and you can comment on those.

This. Survivors themselves are all just reskins. The only unique thing about them is the classes. Killers on the other hand, they have unique powers, classes, and of course the synergy between two killers. There's more feedback opportunities from survivors.

  • I prefer it to stay a temporary mode. But I wouldn't be surprised if it becomes permanent one day.

  • I dunno if this is within the game's capacity, but if we ever got ST Vecna i wonder if they could give him something similar to Nightfall (Dredge), but instead it's the Upside Down. So every (x) amount of time, the map turns red, and during that time, it gets dangerous, like the vines come out and stop survivor actions. Could function similar to Pinhead's chains.

hillbilly is absolutely disgusting in 2v8 and needs nerfs immediately. This killer gobbles pallets and chainsaw sprints throughout the map 24/7 with undetectable sometimes too. I think any killer is good with him tbh, he carries so hard.

    Blasphemy

  • Once the community became aware of the importance of the uninstall survey to the devs, I guarantee a chunk uninstalled specifically to make a point. But i also guarantee they reinstalled pretty soon after because they actually have no intention of leaving. I think when most people reach the point of leaving, they do it without fanfare or announcements, because their care factor is finally at zero. Falling player counts and less auric cell and DLC sales will always speak the loudest.

  • The effect on 1v4 is why I don't really play DBD while 2v8 is on. I'll play to get the 2v8 rewards but otherwise I'm playing a different game in my spare time. It's only 2-3 weeks. It's totally fine just to play something else until it's over.

  • I'm gonna be honest, I'm really not a fan of YouTube dump and run posts. Wish we had some sort of rule here that if you open a new discussion post, you actually need to start the discussion and not let everyone else do it for you. Summarise the video, share why you agree or disagree, and create some discussion. Otherwise it just feels like clickbait.

Is that the one where they added two Survivor Bots by default?

The findings from the 2 bot inclusion was that it only saved queue times 1-2 min, which is why they removed them. Alot of survivors didnt want to play with them. They kept stealing all the herbs too as they knew exactly when and where they would spawn. I honestly cant recall a 2v8 that had low killer queue times.

I feel like if it was Predator then there would have been a bigger push by Disney for it to come before the movie to increase publicity and interest.

Being they are more welcoming of anime and video game additions, there are a lot more possible areas than there used to be.

Possibly. We know it was originally supposed to be out this month, which would have made sense timing-wise. I think once a license has been sold though that it's no longer up to the license holder to have any sort of say, it would simply be down to when it suited BHVR (could be wrong). But the new timing - January - puts it around the final ST episode (New Years Eve i think it is?) so I'd probably lean more towards that.

  • New Predator movie out, so that's a possibility. We got the Alien license so it's only a matter of time. Stranger Things could also be an option since it's the final season, so best time for everyone involved to cash in again on the franchise. Other than those, I'm drawing a blank.

    Grimoire?

The community picked killer (via the Grimoire)

  • The way matchmaking works is that accuracy is thrown out the window the longer it takes to make up a lobby. With the playerbase split between two modes, with 2v8 undoubtedly getting the bulk of players, I'd say the matchmaking is barely working

  • I tried WoO briefly a few years back and found it too overstimulating with the constant auras, but I feel it did help me memorise tile layouts a bit better in that time. Overall though I didn't find it a detriment to play without it. If you feel like you're over reliant on it, maybe switch to maps for a bit? They can show you briefly what pallets are available within your vicinity, then just try and remember after that. That way you're not completely switching your brain off. In general, it helps to train yourself to not only be aware of what's immediately around you, but be aware of what's available beyond that too. Helps with chaining tiles.

Or just keep playing with WoO if you like it. Ultimately it's your game and your time, you can play whatever you like.

I had a match where my six remaining teammates were all healed, had one or no hooks, weren't on gens, weren't in chase—and I died in the cage while watching them stand, crouch, and tbag.

Sounds like the games i was having. Had one where I did 2 gens on my own and then had to run around unhooking everyone because there were 4 caged and one died before i could get to them. I assumed since I was the only one on a gen that one or more of the other 3 would be taking care of unhooks/heals but they were nowhere to be seen until I was on hook and saw them hiding. When I died on hook I spectated and saw one even had 2 crows and was still crouch walking corner of the map lol it reminded me of why the only event i like is Chaos Shuffle. I only put up with this one to get the event rewards.
