We would have gotten this but content creators had to doom post and say BHVR is killing dbd cause of survivors actually getting a fair chance
Thanks killer Content creators and big CC you just killed the survivor gameplay experience
Btw did the nerfed “buffed” syringe ever become meta like you guys said it would? It did not? Did you guys exaggerate again and grift again?
This is why we have to deal with their constant doomposting:
They're not making the money they used to make while streaming this game because the viewers aren't there anymore. Clickbait and faux outrage is all they have left to get those click$ in. Unfortunately, the playerbase has to feel the impact.

i dont think any perk is needed, i dont run slowdown perks. But i tunnel, which doesnt require perks… just basekit chase and smart play by going for the weak link, not over committing. Seems to work for me. But without slowdown perks and without tunneling, thats when i struggle.
im in the mindset that people do what they need to do, as long as it is in the rules of the game then its fine. If people need slowdown perks thats fine, if people need to tunnel thats fine, if people need swf thats fine, if people need to gen rush thats fine. We do what works for us not what works for other people.
I agree. I don't actually care how others choose to play their own game. Some of my aforementioned perk choices would give me little value/slowdown if I tunnelled (eg. Plaything, also THWACK since it's benefit to me is in being able to simultaneously set up ambush on the person I'm chasing while, occasionally, knocking someone off a nearby box and making them have to start over). I simply pick perks that support the way i enjoy playing.

so as you openly say you work on slowing the game down in order to spread hooks and not tunnel with m1 killers… you killer choice and perks say they gens are too fast to spread hooks. Pig has built in game slowdown via the traps AND requires a slowdown perk. Freddy has teleport ability AND requires a slowdown perk.
With this in mind, an m1 killer with no real built in slowdown and no real map traversal such as pyramid head, myers, trapper ghostface to name a few. it can actually be very much needed to tunnel unless they bring slowdown perks.
While you are right, over committing and blindly chasing for too long is a bad move, tunneling the weak link can be more efficient than applying pressure. Not always but it can.
Myers was my third most played killer until his recent rework, which I'm not a fan of. I performed fine with him too. I guess a difference between us is that I don't think any particular perk is "required" to be able to play this game. Probably why I enjoy Chaos Shuffle so much. Perks keep the game feeling fresh and break the monotony, which helps maintain my interest, but I have no qualms about switching them up regularly. As I stated above.
I've also been playing this game for 5 years. I'd like to think at this point my experience and developed game sense accounts for alot more than perks do.

out of curiosity what perks do you use?
Depends on the killer I'm playing, though i switch up perks often out of boredom. I mostly just play Freddy and Pig these days.
My current build for Freddy is Corrupt, Batteries Included, BBQ, and Zanshin (slept on for Freddy, though I find the auras can be overstimulating so I switch it up at times). I'm mostly chase focused. For Pig, currently Corrupt, THWACK, Brutal, and Plaything. I like to keep them busy.

Pressuring all the survivors is not possible as killer especially in the early game can only pressure 1 or 2 survivors at most. You chase 1 or lets say a 2nd that's very close by. The others are free to do gens so most of the time 1 or 2 gens is done by the time the killer gets their first hook. Killers with no mobility has it worse off while the crack heads or teleports like HillBilly, Ghoul, or Xeno can start another chase very quickly.
If you're having trouble early game then use an early game perk to help you out. Corrupt Intervention or Lethal Pursuer are both good. Once you get that first down, the pressure builds. Ideally, one on hook, next in chase, one going for unhook/heal, and only one on gens. Obviously it's never that perfect game by game, but it's how i've played for years now and i have great success in my games, even without playing high mobility killers.
Spending too much time on one survivor (whether in chase or tunnelling) is a no go for me personally, as it costs me pressure by leaving the others unattended for too long. My focus is always on slowing the game down enough for me to always keep ahead (or pull ahead if I've had a rough start). Sometimes it doesn't work out for me (and that's absolutely fine) but majority of the time it does.

I mean, it would have made sense to do something like that. But if we remember the Ratings BHVR gave their Killers back in the day… Billy got an Easy Rating while Wraith got a Intermediate Rating. It did not really make sense.
Just imagine a Perk like Pain Res being stronger on Billy than on Wraith. And there were quite a bunch of examples where they got their difficulty rating wrong.
I'm glad they removed those ratings, though I'd love to know the thought process behind them. Especially if they do decide to scale perks one day. It'd be interesting to see that's for sure lol
-
I got the impression that that was it, they have no more plans. I think they're hoping upcoming matchmaking changes do the job
-
These are, simply, likely just the actors who were keen on doing it. I wanted Joyce and Hopper but likely both Ryder and Harbour had no interest in doing it, or maybe they wanted more money than BHVR was willing to offer, or insert other reason. Netflix can't force them to do it.

Merry Christmas everyone ❤️

Would you rather the S tiers be brought low to match the low tier killers? Have the two meet in the middle? Or bring the low tiers up to A/S?
There are many ways to tackle this. But do they all work? Probably not. Will BHVR's eventual option work? Probably not. Should they stop trying? Definitely not.
but when these killers start going against swf with comms they cant keep up, they certainly dont delete decent teams consistantly. Thats why so many people have a lot of blight matches, ghoul, wesker, nurse.
This is why tunneling and such needs to be discouraged. People are skipping everything to jump to the front of the line in mmr, and complain when they get stomped.
Comm SWF is the END GAME for killers. Once you stomp solo'Q pubs, duos or even trios, they are nothing compared to a 4 man tightly knit team. THAT is the end game grind. Baffles me killers can't see this, and instead wish to complain instead. If you -did- get comms axed, do you see competition for the top killers? I don't. The complaints will roll over to 'killer is boring.' Ridiculous.
In that same vein, Survivors need to get their things straight too. Gens are one of the most boring aspects of the game, yet they are indeed too fast. If a team focuses gens only, the killer has limited options, and tunneling isn't even an attractive option in this scenario imo, especially if they're a good team.
BHVR has made this mess. The players are the ones who suffer and blame one another. Its increasingly getting more gross how humans treat one another behind a screen.
But hey, DBD be DBD.
Yeah I've always said high MMR should be hard. It should be final boss energy, all the best players trying hard to win. Sometimes you'll come out on top and sometimes your opponent/s will, but it won't be easy and shouldnt be. I'd expect folks who get to high MMR to have an experienced skill set, an understanding of various strategies, an expectation of meta perks, and just overall a keen understanding of exactly what's in store for them and a plan to counter it. I'll never understand the folks who are so dead set on getting to that top rank and then, once there, tell the devs they need to nerf their opponent/s because it's too hard. It should be hard and I'll die on that hill.

Doublethink seems to pervade every aspect of the game from the killer perspectiveI think this is very true. You can be a D tier killer hitting a gen rushing SWF group, or you can be a soloq player running D tier perks hitting a sweaty Nurse.
It's not unique to one side. Whether good design or not, the game allows sweatiness (a difficulty slider in my opinion) on both sides - but whole discussions get derailed as if the killer side of it is unique.
Survivors are bad but also unbeatable. This is one of my favorites.
Tunneling only works against low mmr survivors but is also required to beat good survivor teams.Yeah, we really got into a lot of Kettle Logic with the anti-tunnel arguments.
Lower skill killers lose to these teams but think they are better at killer than they actually are.One thing I'll add to this - everyone should run into games where the opponents felt unbeatable (regardless of side). Whatever your MMR there should be matches where you hit people better than you, or you missed something without realizing it, or you just lost a lot of 50/50s. That is true for both survivors and killers, but it seems to primarily be a killer argument that no one can understand the caliber of opponents they are hitting - when that is one of the most normal feelings in any type of PvP game.
"everyone should run into games where the opponents felt unbeatable (regardless of side). Whatever your MMR there should be matches where you hit people better than you, or you missed something without realizing it, or you just lost a lot of 50/50s"
Wish more people understood this

I have generalised anxiety disorder in real life, there's no way I'd play a game or role that caused me anxiety lol only advice i can give is have no expectations when going into a game. Don't concern yourself with the outcome. Can't stress if you don't care.

I just dont see them being the survivors though, even with these images. Eleven makes sense... but Dustin..? I mean yeah he's great and all, but it just doesnt feel right having him as one of the characters to represent Stranger Things. If all the kids where there then itd different, but just 1? Nah. It also feels weird to back pedal on something M. Cote said in an interview a few years back, where he doesnt want kids being eaten by the hag.
My guess is they're gonna pump out another teaser(s) thatll represent the rest of the main cast, and in the end we get Joyce and Hopper.
But it also comes down to who wants to do it, has the time, etc. Ive seen the actor who plays Dustin in Nintendo ads, so I wouldn't be surprised to see him as one of the survivors. The actors themselves are adults and they can do with the lore what they did with Cheryl, having the entity take them when they're 18. I think they did the same with Steve and Nancy, where they were taken after whatever season they turned 18. Even though they used cosmetics from season 1 lol

I don't remember playing the event much last year so I can't really compare. I was also a killer-only player then, so I only saw the one side.
This year it's been mostly like the other recent events: too sweaty. As survivor I can't take anything seriously and I just want to throw snowballs, so the killers just stomp me. As killer, I'm mostly getting sweaty teams, so I can't do much event-wise.
BUT I did have a survivor match with @For_The_People and @THE_Crazy_Hyena that might have been the most fun match I've ever played. The killer was chill and we roamed about as snowman, had snowball fights, I was publicly flogged on hook for breaking the killer's snowman, and we had a snowman race instead of a slug race, resulting in the comical knee-glide exit animation. It was such a wonderfully wholesome 40 minutes I don't know how I can play normal again.

I do check the numbers and they are down but not much. It’s the fact they couldn’t hold onto the FNAF newbies or returning players. That is what shows the game isn’t interesting to most or completely hard for newbies. The game is still interesting to say the least it’s the players that make it miserable and it’s been asked that maybe BHVR take a firmer stand on player behavior and cheaters. You used to run into a subtle cheater hardly ever and now it’s a few times a day.
The time for a matchmaking overhaul was prior to FNAF. New players should be learning alongside other new players.

Dwight and Trapper make the most sense but Sable is where the money is.
Huntress is one of the OGs so still okay, aesthetically she's probably the better choice. Trapper at least is on the cover of the art book. But yeah, Sable was a head scratcher lol I feel like these sets would sell regardless

The problem u aren't making “no time limit deals”. Everything that involves IP has their own “age”. That's the reason that some licences becomes public free after specific period.
Halloween license just expired after so many years, and to return it, both sides need to initiate this bureaucracy, and more likely it must be BHVR. That has to be a lil difficult now, after controversial year and another competitor that holds licence for potential new release, that would like to stay as an exclusive content.
But they can find it time consuming and not worthy simple.
Not to mention, to renew the license costs money and they're not going to spend the money unless they're sure they'll get it back, plus profit. The sales likely aren't there anymore. Everyone who wanted Myers and Laurie likely have them by now, and whatever new players are coming into the game may not be enough to make the cost worth it
-
We can have Haddoffield, the quaint but very ordinary street where nothing eventful ever happens

@SoGo said:
Ironic how Gun thinks that if they will be the only ones with access to Myers, then they will profit more and get Myers enjoyers to play their game.
As if they won't just abandon the game after a year "because the project became too big" (they got the profit they wanted and no longer care to balance the game).
Even if DbD would die, I will not buy their game. I remembered TCM. I remembered FT13.
There's a good chance that after seeing how TCM went, they've only bought the license for 12 months.

I hope you’re right, but I’m not optimistic. We’ve had this non-functional system for years despite the fact that it’s by far the biggest root cause for player frustration in the game.
Yeah I'm not optimistic either. I think complaints from content creators will influence how much it helps (or doesn't). And I'm not just saying that to be an ass, it's based on the way they behaved last time matchmaking was touched (just after Chucky's release). So I'm anticipating the same until proven otherwise.

Well, for you it wont' be any different. It will just be confusing for new players when we veterans are like "Use DS" and they be like "Huh? What's DS?" Then we have to be like "Uh… uh….. checks websites Will to Live."
I'll be in the cold hard ground before I recognize WTL 😆

Probably the hardest change to cope with is gonna be adjusting to its new name. How can it be anything but DS?

I'd advise people avoid clicking on anything at this point

I've never played on PC so don't know what I'm missing, but I do remember when I went from the Switch to PS5 and the game became ten times easier. I imagine PS to PC would be similar lol

I'm not a fan of putting all my eggs in one basket. I like to bring perks to help with a bit of everything. For slowdown, just Corrupt Intervention.

I'd probaby pick Kindred but solo or not, Empathy is my default teammate info perk. I get crazy value out of it and i never take it off. I know where the killer is when if an injured person is in chase, I can see if the chase is coming way, I can easily find a chase and take a hit for someone in dire straits, I can make my way to someone to heal them, and I know if and where an injured person is ratting.
Yup, Empathy was always a staple in my builds. It's the superior option.
-
Cheaters have always happened in cycles. A new hack comes out, a wave of cheaters come in, the hack gets patched, the devs do a mass ban, things seem normal again until a new hack bypasses the system yet again. Rinse and repeat.
-
Honestly, none. I don't think perk choice is reflection of skill. But i would imagine No Mither and Invocation users would get dodged alot.
-
I think Shattered Square is a unique case in that it used to spawn with about 1/3 of the map having no pallets. I haven't played on it recently so can't confirm, but I'm assuming if it wasn't touched in the recent update it was because they don't have the means to address a specific section of the map. They might have more work planned for it later on.

Freddy and Pig, two of my mains. No boycott here, I'm fine
