  • An average amount. I see him more than some other killers like Trickster, Hag, and Twins.

I mean I've went up against and had fellow survivors who went in the basement when there was a basement bubba camping hooks also I can see a situation of them hanging around the stairs

And what does hanging around the stairs do? Nothing unless you are planning a rescue attempt. Using Reassurance in that situation would only be beneficial if attempting an eventual unhook rescue, which those survivors would have still attempted to do without the perk in play. Or else they wouldnt be there. And I'm going to guess survivors who do that are part of a swf, because as a solo player in a basement with a Bubba I can assure you most of the team won't risk it. In short, the perk doesn't make a basement Bubba rescue any less fruitless.

  • @Majin151 said:

Just going to say this now I feel bad for whoever gets stuck in the basement with me as bubba and someone decides to use this perk as long as possible and knowing how certain swfs are I can see then not opening the gates just so they could go for a save

When I play basement bubba I don't care about winning as long as I get a kill with the basement hook I'm satisfied and I'm willing to stay down in the basement as long as possible lol

It doesn't reach down into the basement. If someone wants to activate it they'll have to actually go into the basement, which is stupid against a basement bubba. I doubt you will see it at all during that sort of gameplay.

  • Resurgence would be the better option imo. Instant 50% heal after you're unhooked.

You have so many posts but you still dont seem to understand the problems in the game.

You still didnt answer my question and it has something to do with the new perk.

If you would know anything about the gameplay, especially in high mmr then you would be aware of the situation that killers face mostly swf "troops". And there is very little you can do against them, well maybe playing Nurse. Its not about git gud, thats just incredibly short sighted and shows a total ignorance towards the problems in the game.

"Sometimes" camping is a necessary tool. Maybe you should ask yourself why that is?

This new perk is just going to make the situation worse.

In high mmr survivors are the power role. But most people are totally unwilling to acknowledge this, much less accepting it.

You dont believe it? There are more than enough experienced killer main streamers, Just watch their matches and you will notice a pattern.

High mmr swf survivors can be a menace.

The new perk will make it even easier for the high mmr survivor swfs to win games.

This isn't a perk high MMR swfs will need or likely use. They have comms and can effectively counter camping. This is a perk that will benefit your average solo survivor.

People don't want to be held hostage to the point the only way out is to disconnect which is what reassurance can cause. I've already seen someone on the forums talk about being held on the hook for an hour.

I feel like most folks that play the PTB don't want to play a legit game. They're there to test the limits of the perks, to mess around with them, etc. Because if they wanted to just sit on a gen the whole game then they may as well play live. My point in saying that is, I don't think PTB can necessarily be an accurate reflection of what will happen in an average live game. I've had troll team mates, but I've found them to be very rare. I don't run into them enough to be worried in the slightest that someone will keep me hostage on the hook long enough that my only option is to DC.

I will suicide on the hook if I literally second hook and no one made an attempt to save me.

I've never let go on hook purposely, but those scenarios are absolutely the times when I am so tempted. As it is, there's been times I've been let go to second stage and unhooked last second, and then gone on to have an amazing game and escape. Remembering those games helps me hold out.

  • I'm fine with those hook suicides. I think alot of solo players get it. It's the ones who, not even a couple minutes in, throw a hissy fit and bow out. At least try.

  • It's funny, I decided a few days ago I want to get I'm All Ears and now here it is. I'm pretty sure it was in the Shrine recently as well, so I didn't expect to see it again so soon

  • I've seen people use Any Means Necessary against him as well. Drop the pallet and then immediately start resetting it, stopping and restarting over and over before the action is complete. Wesker can't vault it.

  • Apparently the VHS Discord is/was full of ranting about DBD. When I heard that I felt like it didn't bode well for the game. I don't think it's a bad game by any means at all, I think it stands alone just fine, but when the player base is seemingly drawn together out of mutual spite towards another game then its not a good sign imo

  • I rarely saw this prior to the update, but see it more often since. Teamwork has really been suffering lately, it sucks

  • Info perks on both. I like being able to form a plan

  • Same. I just wanna see the map

  • Yes (survivor), I'm waiting until the bp incentives come back to use them though

  • Well I can't speak for anyone else, but that was pretty much my winrate prior to the update anyway. It's undoubtedly dropped a bit since then but not by a huge amount

  • Had two games today where I was left to die on first hook, so I get it. I bring Kindred every game too, and both times the killer was on the other side of the map chasing a different survivor (which they could see via my kindred too, but I suspect they were swfs so knew anyway). One thing both games had in common was that the killer had a few hooks and only 1 gen had popped (I'd popped the sole gen both times too funnily enough) so it seemed like they chose gens over the random.

  • It's always been a thing. When they camp my slugged body, I like to crawl in the opposite direction of the survivor and up to some random lockers. It makes me smile watching the killer check them. I gotta amuse myself somehow while on the ground..

  • As an altruistic survivor, all I can say for now is: play a bit more selfishly. Because everyone else is. I'm still enjoying my games for the most part but the concept of teamwork seems to have gone out the window in alot of my games since the update. I'm feeling alot more on my own than as part of a team.

It's not review bombing, it's reviewing. We don't like the patch so we review as not liking it. See how that works? I know it must be hard putting 2 and 2 together, but try.

Unfortunately this is what the internet has become. Everything gets review bombed these days. I don't even read reviews anymore. So I can understand people being sceptical of how valid these reviews are

  • A few of my games lately have been very jumpy when I'm in the close vicinity of the killer. My ping is green in the lobby, would this mean the killer has a high ping? I honestly haven't experienced this before, or at least never to this extent

  • BHVR want people to play their game. Even the ones who DC

  • Demo, Bubba, and Nemesis atm

  • I'm fine with DH change, but then I never used it. IMO though, they were definitely heavy handed on other perks. Self Care was already in a bad state and didn't need a further nerf. And Calm Spirit nerf definitely wasn't necessary, I'm still scratching my head over that one.

  • You can't control what someone else does, there will always be players displaying bm in games. Always have been and always will be. Best thing to do is just switch your train of thought and don't take it personally. It's not a personal attack against you - it's literally someone just pressing a button because it gives them a little dopamine hit for some reason.

  • Fog Whisperers are essentially a branch of the company, so I'm not surprised to hear they have certain privileges. I understand why Tru3 would be upset though. He's one of the game's most popular streamers (i personally dont watch him anymore fwiw) and he's been targeted by hackers for a long time.

Its the problem of Survivors can stack High rarity toolbox & addon. Just as Killers with 4 slowdown. Except slowdown comes as perk, its free once you get them, every match.

Though 4 BNP toolbox vs no slow down is just as stupid as 4 slowdown vs no Gen boost perks. Items should be nerfed.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3116653#Comment_3116653

We dont know if we're in balance state. Sure the game was survivor's sided that a skill 4 survivor can win skill 5 killer. But after the buff, 4 slowdown, tunneling. Skill 5 killer win skill 6 survivors, then lose to skill 7 survivors and complain the game is still survivor sided. You know what I mean.

I accept dying alot recently and have my MMR dropped to vs easier Killers, and eventually have normal games. But do Killers had constant 4K, have their MMR up vs harder Survivors accepting the fact that they cant always 4K?

Agreed. I don't think we are balanced *yet*, but things will even out I'm sure. Having said that, I wouldn't say balancing was ever actually perfect at all - I could easily recognize when I was matched with more skilled and experienced survivors and killers. But accepting that you won't always escape and you won't always 4k is definitely an issue for many survivors and killers. And honestly, it's healthy for their own mentality that they don't have those sorts of expectations. I feel like there would be a lot less complaining if people didn't allow their egos to take control. Win enough games and you'll eventually start losing, it's how the game is designed.

Low BP gains are detrimental for the game, if anniversary events were always active, game will be actually a lot more fun and interesting for everyone.

Increase in player count during anniversary is not happening because "it's a big event" or "it's a limited big bonus", it's happening because game is actually much more fun, and decrease in player count is happening because after knowing fun and game variety of having lot of BPs, playing with pitiful usual BP gain is just boring, and even feel slightly dumb.

This would be a popular opinion imo

It goes like this in killers' mindset.

Killer buffs -> Easier game -> Constant 3-4K -> MMR up, face much better survivors -> Lose -> Complains

And here goes with alot of thread: guess go back to 4 slowdown, tunnel/camping, looks like survivors adapt and play well now.

No, its just you face survivors who have skill far better than you. You were carried by the buff, 4 slowdown, tunnel, camping on Solo, your MMR is no where close to your skill. Just like survivors with DH.

Just like the old meta would have carried some survivors onto wins they otherwise wouldn't have had, so too has the new killer meta. Survivors have spent the last couple weeks playing around with new builds, and in that time I'm sure many killers have been carried into higher MMR than they're used to. Survivors are now finding the builds that help compensate for the ones they lost as well as the ones that best counter the new killer meta, and I think things are (or will be) slowly starting to balance out.

  • @IWantCandys said:

To be honest I never actually used DH or DS, I liked other perks more. Before the rework patch, I was constantly changing my builds, sometimes bond/open handed, sometimes quick and quiet/head on, sometimes totem builds. Just the way I wanted to. The only perk I've ever had was Iron Will because I'm not super good at looping and IW has helped me stay in the match longer.

But after the last update I have a relatively solid build for the first time. Prove thyself (I use it almost in every match , it replaced Iron will) , Overzealous, Déjà Vu and either COH or OTR. It's not hard to see that almost all of these are perks affect gen speed. Since gen speed was nerfed, as a solo queue survivor who isn't a god looper, I feel forced to smash gens ASAP to even get a chance to see the endgame countdown.

Before the patch, I didn't feel that much pressure and would go totem hunting or opening chests between gens, now I only focus on gens.

So yeah, for me a new meta has been created with the new patch. Gen rush builds. I know , many survivors did that before, but I have never found it necessary. I don't like the whole thing, I'd much rather keep experimenting with lots of perks, but when I'm not playing in a swf I just want to finish the match asap, otherwise I'm not escaping at all 99% of the time.

I feel this. I've been slack on tome challenges too, because I'm forgetting I even have one until the game is over. Depending on the map and slowdown perks, my mind is on gens and not totems/chests/hiding within 10m of the killer/whatever. Sometimes I spend the whole game going back and forth with the killer on one gen lol

  • I main Zarina, even more so since the prestige update. It almost feels pointless putting bp into other characters because there's no guarantee of useful items so i may as well stick with my main. I main demogorgon for killer but I only play killer once in awhile when I'm in the mood

  • 90 on survivor and 70 on killer. I have to drop it a bit when I haven't played for a week or so though, but I inevitably wind up back at those sensitivities

    BINGO!

There is no player accountability, and thus there is no player loyalty.

Survivor is a dog eat dog world right now.

This is what happens when push comes to shove in a team game that doesn’t promote teamwork

Yeah, if the game is clearly over and there's still a number of gens left, there's a definite increase in the amount of survivors who become unreliable and disappear because they want the hatch. But it makes me appreciate the games where a random and I both keep fighting together until the bitter end. I love those games.

  • I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure Oni is bugged right now. Something to do with blood orbs and being able to demon dash more than often

  • There are so many aura reading perks these days that I'm not sure how stealthy survivors can actually be. Last time I tried Distortion I was out of tokens before the first gen even popped.

  • I'm excited to see reworked RPD map mostly. I won't buy Wesker, and I'll only buy the survivors if they have perks I'm interested in. Hoping they have some decent survivor perks as they haven't in awhile imo

  • It can be frustrating but just get into the habit of hopping off the gen before the hook. Soon you just do it without even thinking. I was still doing it after the rework Patch even though it wasn't necessary, but obviously that didn't last long. I play solo and if I'm doing a gen with something, I just wave them back and 9/10 they'll hop off the gen.

  • That's literally how this game runs though. Killers want to kill and survivors want to survive, so they equip the best tools/addons/perks etc to compensate for their weaknesses in game. If someone doesn't have good map pressure as a killer, then slowdown perks are a must. If a survivor is finding they're consistently dying before all gens are done, then gen speed up perks are a must. Not everyone thinks or plays the same way, and no one equips perks as a personal attack. It's literally just about covering their behind.

  • Yes. But I do go through periods where my interest wanes a bit. I think I'm still burnt out from the anniversary event. We got spoilt with bp so it kind of sucks playing for peanuts in comparison lol

  • They said the exterior will be expanded as well, so I'll assume more outdoor pathways and entrances . I don't think it'll literally just be the map split in two as is

  • I don't but I wouldn't blame someone if they did, especially if the other survivors were just standing around. I accidentally forgot a team mate was hooked once, it was ages ago but it was the first time I'd experienced Hex: Huntress Lullaby at 5 tokens, and the survivor was using Calm Spirit. I was so focused on watching for the skill checks since the warning noise was absent, that I missed the survivor being hooked (no scream didnt help) and subsequently dying.

  • Yup but moreso to see the reworked RPD map

  • It's fine if you have a main survivor or killer, you'll be able to just tier up via the bloodweb. Might take more time on characters you don't use often

  • I'd assume the same, that certain rooms and areas will be blocked off in the different maps. They might possibly even expand it a bit

  • You said the game was over at that point anyway, so it sounds like Quentin was farming some last minute bp at the expense of his team mate. I see it quite a bit unfortunately

  • That level of coordination suggests a swf team. PT is fine in solo games - depending on the killer and how much pressure they supply, you sometimes don't even get much PT value. It's great when you do, but not guaranteed.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/338117/should-killers-have-to-play-a-near-perfect-game-to-get-a-4k

Killer mains just need to stop thinking that a win is only getting 4k. According to the way MMR works the killer is playing 4 different games so each player they hook and sacrifice is a win. So really only killing one survivor should be considered a win for the killer, that's how the game sees it.

My thoughts too. I often feel like many killers consider anything less than a 4k a loss. I even saw feedback once that said killers should get a guaranteed 3k every game, as though 3k should be the baseline for a loss. Like could you imagine? It would change the entire game dynamic - it'd be survivor vs survivor.

  • Easy if you're in a SWF. Unless you have Bond in solo it's easier said than done. But yes, it's the common sense play

1 … 137 138 139 140 141 … 149
