Not everyone's a team player

It was killer sided before the update, I wouldn't be surprised if the kill rate is 60% on the map right now.
It was 62.93% killrate as of January this year. I'd say higher now
-
No, I'll be passing on this one. Looking forward to seeing Wesker in the fog though
-
It's true, but sometimes I'm okay with that. If I've had too many losses in a row and want to end my night with an escape, then I'll go. But 9/10 I don't mind risking my neck
-
It's fine as is, I can't see why buffing it would be necessary
-
I struggle on Midwich, which is apparently, based on BHVRs own stats, the map with the highest killrates. So not surprising.
For solo as a whole though, it's pretty easy to 3 gen on maps like Azarovs, Suffocation Pit, and Sanctum of Wrath. Obviously SWFs on comms can coordinate gens, which solo unfortunately can't.
-
The only ones that annoy me are the survivors that do it because they're the first ones down. The ones that do it when the game is clearly lost... well, I don't like it but I get it and don't begrudge them.
Oh, and of course hackers but I feel like that goes without saying. Most hackers are very subtle but if you know what to look for you can pick them. Sometimes you might have hackers and not realize, but the killer or your team mates do.
-
This would be the one map that no one would DC on when the offering is played

It's not a matter of winning. Most solo queue matches can barely be described as playing a videogame right now. Killer gets infinite pressure in the first minute and it's a total snowball with nothing resembling any gameplay.
I feel like once upon a time it would take until 2-3 gens were done before you'd start to get an idea of which way the game was going and the pressure would start to amp up. Even then you'd sometimes get it wrong - thinking the team had it in the bag until someone makes a mistake and things snowball in the killer's favour. Nowadays, there's an increasing amount of games where you know the game is over at 5/4 gens left. I suspect that's why there's an increase in people letting go on hook.
-
Just smashing gens and escaping will eventually get boring, no? Healing, hooking, getting into chase to give team mates a chance, etc, are all part of the game and far more interesting I would argue. Surely you'd eventually wind up in a higher MMR than you should be, facing killers who will burn through Distortion before the first gen even pops.
I do agree though that BHVR do seem to be pushing for survivors to play in this manner. I've noticed there's a lot less teamwork displayed in recent games, a lot more Left Behind and Sole Survivor being used. And forget it if you're the one hooked in endgame. DS and OTR deactivated, and BT no longer being used because of the 5s basekit means no one is coming (and I get it, unless the hooked person is near an exit gate there's little chance for them). When Terminus comes out I anticipate people leaving immediately will become more commonplace.
-
DCing against nurse is counter-productive. The devs said DCs don't count as kills, so DCing helps keep her killrates low, which in turn decreases the chances of her getting any sort of rework that folks who DC want. At least try against her, even if death is inevitable.
-
Actually, you have to get to P1 to unlock the perks you want (and it costs a nice 20k for the honour of doing so). The plus side is that it unlocks all said perks at tier 1 across all characters. The downside is that if you only play one survivor or killer then yeah, it's more work/bp
-
@Jangles said:
This is before the update. The nurse at the end is picking up the masquerade thing. The gens also have balloons on them. Like SWF is still strong but you're being disingenuous now.
Exactly. I'd be keen to see this sort of winstreak more recently - and I'd be more impressed if it were a solo player, since it's pretty well accepted that the chain of power in this game is SWF -> killer -> solo
-
Feng cosmetics are probably putting the devs kids through college. They make them because they sell

Please tell me this is just in reference to the big patch, and they haven't given us the finger again today with something else

Oh what? Did I miss out *cries*

I thought this was going to be able how the hook related bubbles can get in the way of a lot of other visual information, especially auras. That would have actually been a decent take.
It kind of frustrates me that they changed this. Have they ever addressed if it was intended or a bug? It messes with Kindred so much, which is considered by a lot of solo players to be necessary for their game play

i feel like this is a missed opportunity for a silent footsteps perk we already have a few things that do this and kind of better.
This is what I thought too when I first saw the perk icon. I thought it'd be quiet footsteps when running throughout the match
-
The solo experience seems to be sloooowly evolving into survivor vs survivor lol these sorts of perks don't help, I feel guilty asf equipping perks like Sole Survivor and Left Behind since the idea is that I'll get the most benefit when my team is dead. With Ada's new endgame perk I can see people doing full endgame builds.

You are wrong.
I want to watch you complete every great skill checks with Hyperfocus on the same generator without any fail. I wait.
Hyperfocus is balanced because it needs skill to be rewarded.
Reassurance is fine as it is. I dont see the problem. You can have an infinite hook ? Is it a problem for you because you cant camp anymore ?
These are good perks, not OP, very balanced. And needed to improve the game.
I agree, particularly regarding Hyperfocus. I don't have a horse in this race as I won't be buying this chapter, but Hyperfocus would be useless in my hands. I'm terrible at hitting great skill checks, which could be due to the fact that I mostly play on Switch, but I digress - I think it's fine to have valuable perks that reward you based on skill. It's not a passive benefit, you need to earn it.
-
Yeah it's still going strong. I always assume every killer I face has it (because they usually do)
-
I've only played a handful of games this week. I sometimes get like that, pretty sure it's normal
-
@My_Aespa said:
Unfortunately, the best situation you can make out of a killer camping is go do your objective unbothered. If it's you on the hook, I guess you'll just have to move on to the next game. This will be a problem though if survivors abuse Reassurance and just keeps you there while being camped, I think that's when Reassurance will be looked at again.
If the best solution is to just do your objective unbothered (ie. Hit gens) then wouldn't Reassurance help with that? Like, if I'm being facecamped on hook and I'm holding on til the very end so my team can safely hit gens, I'll be totally fine with them chucking some extra time on me if needed.

The thinks is, as someone usually doing gens in a 2v1 scenario, the one hidding is actually playing for the win, because the killer usually finds the one at the gens, not the other ones. And as much as killer claim they would go for the one hidding instead of the one doing gens, i never experienced that. Usually, the killer kills me because he doesnt want to search the last guy anymore, so the one hidding is going free.
So yes, he actually played for the win.
This is my experience too. Ive had these games where it's 2v1 and the other person is playing for hatch. The only reason the game doesn't get held hostage is because *I* don't let it - I'll park myself on a gen knowing I'm dead once the killer checks my gen. Only once has a killer ever let me go - after a long chase with no gen popping, the killer downed me and went straight to shack and found the other survivor (why do they always hide in those particular lockers??) and then let me go. Once.
So from my observation, playing for hatch is an effective strategy because it seems to work for them. The stalemate happens when you have two survivors who enjoy this strategy. The downside is the game is dragged to the point of absolute frustration for everyone except the hidden survivor/s.
-
Simply, don't engage. They say this stuff to provoke you because unfortunately some people are just unkind
-
I don't. I can escape a game but if it's with low bps and a safe pip then I'm disappointed because I know I didn't play my best. If I die but pulled my weight, then I'm happy.
Having said that, it's genuinely nice to play a good game and escape once in awhile. Doesn't happen as much anymore
-
I won't be, nothing in it interests me. I am looking forward to playing against Wesker though
-
"And other special offers". Your highlighting didn't go far enough xD
-
The best Artists I've gone against aren't the ones that just target loops, they're the ones that think two steps ahead of the survivor and take me down from a distance

He came out like a week ago. I really hate the term 'get good', but I feel like it absolutely applies here. Put the time into this killer (and any killer really) before determining how weak he is.
-
I don't think there's an issue in wanting to avoid infected gens tbh. When I'm against a Plague and I see an infected survivor on an infected gen, I'll usually keep running to try find a gen that isn't infected. But 15 minutes? Nah lol eventually I'll realize the killer is just going to keep re-infecting the gens so I'll accept the inevitable
-
I wanna say Kindred but I really only use it because it's pretty much necessary as a solo player. Favourite is probably Overcome
-
I feel as though I have to sit on a gen or I'm letting the team down. More frequently games are ending with multiple gens still to go, and if I've cleansed a totem or opened a chest that game then I feel like I wasted precious time. I even watch streamers getting frustrated, saying like 'why is Jake cleansing a totem, get on a gen!' Or 'why is Nea just running around? she should be on a gen!' I haven't used Prove Thyself in ages but I'm feeling like I have to in order to help the team. We should be able to do other objectives without feeling like we're potentially throwing the game. Idk. That's just my gripe.
-
For me it's Deathslinger, for no proper reason. I just hate his laugh and his look and his terror radius and the sound his gun makes. If a Deathslinger caught me 30 seconds into a game and facecamped me right up until I died, I would legit feel relieved lol

I wasn’t actually in a match but I was watching someone stream against Myers on RPD. She was last survivor alive, Myers kept taking her up to the library but she was able to reach a locker before he could mori her. He kept trying to carry her to other locations to see if it would work but after 20 minutes he eventually gave up and hooked her.
I made this thread cause I was wondering if I was the survivor would I be holding the game hostage or the killer?? I’ve gotten mixed answers as you know of course.
Oh and BTW the killer brought RPD.
In this situation I honestly think it's on the killer. He takes her out the locker, and then keeps bringing her to various isolated places on the map and letting her go. He is keeping the game going. I get his goal is the achievement, and I appreciate the difficulty of that achievement (I personally offer myself up to be Tombstone'd once i've done enough in the game) but I don't see achievements listed in the rules as an exception to refusing to just end the game. Take the achievement out of the equation and the situation is alot more clear.

I suspect maybe the skin won't be coming to store now, that they decided to instead make it a Prime exclusive

Pretty much. It barely helps and its just the exact same as it was pre patch. I've lurked on these forums for a while and I am convinced that while some complaints are justified, most do it just for the sake of complaining.
It's usually when they have one bad game and need to blame something or someone other than themselves
-
I'm not too bothered personally, but that's probably because I've had Prime for alot longer than this DBD partnership has been going on. So for me it is a bonus (along with the Roblox freebies for my daughter) of having Prime.
BUT i agree that it is kinda lazy lol even just a re-colour would have worked. We know DBD is good at those. I wonder though if this means the skin won't make its way to the store now.

Unfortunately, the devs seem to have their vision of how the game should be played, and it runs contrary to how a lot of players (like myself) want to play the game on survivor.
I think the devs want this to be a survival horror experience with teamwork elements being secondary, but a lot of players treat it as a multiplayer pvp game first and not a horror experience at all after the first few hours. That disconnect between player (vet players in particular) and developer causes a lot of frustration.
Speaking for myself, I see survivor as the team game side. It's a pvp game to me. I don't think of it as a horror game or an "experience" at all. My goal is to play optimally, work together, and escape. So naturally I get really frustrated when the game doesn't let me play that way for one reason or another.
Someone else mentioned the Rift, and I think the Rift in particular highlights the need for a separate ranked mode. Very little kills my desire to play more than seeing teammates just doing tasks to complete a Rift challenge. And so many of the Rift challenges require players to throw the game.
I see survivor the same way, but if the devs view team work as secondary then it conflicts with the idea of swfs. Playing in a swf is the best way to play this game.
-
I've said a few times now that teamwork has gone out the window recently in solo queue. I've had an increase in games where only 1-2 gens are done before it's clear the game is over, so it becomes every survivor for himself at that stage. I'm seeing alot more endgame perks, even among streamers I watch. I was reading through endgame perks last night, I feel like they're a necessity now, but not because gens are getting done.
-
Blight, Nemesis, Legion, Huntress. I actually went through a period where I barely saw Huntress but I'm seeing her alot lately
-
From a personal perspective, this would be great. From a game health perspective, it would be not so great.

Bubba's usually play very fair I have seen one facecamping bubba in last 4 months but I didn't even play that game as I let my friend play.
Agreed. They get a bad rep but in general I enjoy going against a bubba
-
Lol it's true. I can honestly say that camping and tunnelling is not something I frequently face, but every time I spawn in and hear her Lullaby i know not to get caught first lol I don't even feel that way about Bubba - I can't remember the last time I saw a camping or tunnelling Bubba

Killers got a major buff this patch with many slowdown perks possible. And yet, some people still complain about gens being done too quickly.. like you guys are never happy about anything.
Killers said after the patch that survivors needed to adapt. I guess they didn't think they actually would?

Killers and Survivors are already complaining about it because with the current numbers it has it can be abused and keep someone on the hook for the maximum amount of time.....1 hr. It also ruins any type of camping that is a valid Strat that isn't used as a toxic play
What is the killer doing this whole hour? The perk doesn't stop someone else from coming along and unhooking the person, so unless the solo player is against a 3man troll swf (who are rare) and an afk killer, I can't see hanging on hook for an hour becoming the norm.
-
Nodding, hitting on hook, tbagging, etc, doesn't give any sort of in-game advantage. So none of it bothers me. It's not a personal attack.
-
I've been playing for a couple years and been faced with a troll team mate a small handful of times. I'm not concerned in the slightest. This perk doesn't prevent someone else from unhooking me anyway, so good luck to anyone wanting to grief with it. Most players want to play a serious game.
