I will speak from my personal experience here, I've played many matches the last few days, and not found anything remotely wrong with the pallets (only Midwich spawns) and same on many streams I watch. It's not about Devs being on Live, it's just that none of us have experienced this at all, which is why we've asked for logs if you do experience it in your game.
They seem the same as usual to me too. I use Zanshin alot on Freddy and the spawns aren't any different.
Everyone seems to be using Scott Jund's video as proof but apparently can't supply their own evidence.

I have tried Father Campbell's Chapel (screenshot in post) and it was in custom.
FCC has had pallet issues for months, so hard to say if it's a recent issue or not. But I did go on a bunch of maps via custom earlier and they all seemed the same as usual

Yeah, maybe it was just many Pallets in the regular RNG. I did not test anything in Custom Games, because I only saw that there were too many Pallets on some maps when I already stopped playing.
Overall it just seems like somee maps feature 2v8 Pallet Count.
Must just be live maps, which would make sense if it happened when 2v8 came in. Customs are the same as always.

YOu're simply wrong. It's not just pallets, but jungle gyms spawining inappropriatley.
Which tracks which a bunch of testing I just did. It's a serious issue for current killer play, so let not pretend that is isn't mmmkaayy?
How about instead of criticising others who are doing the work to look into it and help the devs get what they need, you share your own info? Not Scott Jund's, your own.

Nah, it is pretty clear that it is not every Map. I played the whole evening and the only Map which featured more Pallets was a Wreckers Yard from what I have seen. The rest looked fairly normal (Cowshed even with less Pallets than usual, but this was probably the normal RNG).
I checked Wrecker's too but it seemed fine on my end. One of the corners actually had no Pallets within these 3:
And then i backed up into the opposite corner and the spawns seemed the same as usual
-
Checked Father Campbell's, Torment Creek, Disturbed Ward (was one cluster of pallets but the rest of the map seemed normal) and the spawns seemed the same as usual. Torment Creek I'd say was actually pretty bad with pallet spawns. I'd say maybe it's only live games affected but OP is in customs as well. Hopefully others can check but I've taken heaps of screenshots and nothing seems amiss
Edit to add - i use Zanshin alot on Freddy, so when i say nothing is amiss i mean compared to my usual games. The spawns all look the same
-
I just hopped on customs to check them out myself. It mustn't be every map as I've checked Temple of Purgation, Midwich, and Yamaoka Family Residence so far and they were all fine. Temple was probably the heaviest pallet wise but not overly so, Midwich is still pallet-less in a number of rooms, and Yamaoka didn't have any clusters of pallets.
-
I've gone against two so far and they seemed fine

The reward was removing the ability to go next. It was just a reward for the ones who didn't abuse it in that they have a better chance at salvaging the games people try to get eliminated out of as fast as possible instead. That is a genuine buff to gen progress, and the only nerf was to the people who wanted to disrupt matches by noping out faster. Anybody who actually intends to use the 4% as a positive for themselves or their team (instead of just an outdated last ditch effort) can still do so with as little as an offering.
Nothing you've said negates my reply to the other person, who said the people who went next were rewarded. They were not. They had their penalty free option taken from them and their only route now is the one that penalises them. Sure, the people who did the right thing were rewarded by having a better shot at escape but I'm not sure what that has to do with my reply.

The "go next" problem got exponentially worse the moment Skull Merchant got giganerfed. It wasn't non-existent before, but this act was the devs basically validating this type of attitude and behavior. Survivors basically got rewarded for it, so why wouldn't they do it more over a larger number of things, no matter how mild they are?
"Go next" was removed. They took away the 4% as a result of people letting go on hook. There was no reward, just punishment. The likely result if there is an increase in DCing is that they'll put in stronger penalties. DCing isn’t even the same as going next anyway, because the latter had no personal downside while the former has always penalised players.
-
There will always be a meta. They tried addressing it back with update 6.1 and for a period onwards, but new metas always developed until I guess they just gave up. And some killers will always have a higher pick rate than others. If they change up too many older killers they risk the veteran players being unhappy with no guarantee that new players (the number of which have undoubtedly dropped since the peak pandemic years) will pick them up.
-
They could do this even without that perk combo. In fact, the last two survivors hiding is a pretty common complaint that existed before this chapter release. And it shouldn't prevent afk crows from appearing if they're doing nothing.
-
Majority of those upvotes are probably me. I'm a simple creature, I see an Aven_Falling post, I give an upvote.

This game doesnt revolve around the streamers who play this game for a job. There is the rest 98% of players who want decent matchmaking that prioritizes player enjoyment and match fairness as expected in a multiplayer game. If the devs actually changed MMR because of these feedback, that's sad and ignorant.
I don't know if they did end up backtracking on it at the time. I enjoy watching our DBD streamers (am currently watching one right now in fact) and of course they are entitled to their opinions on game changes. But I think they're also very aware they can have a big influence on the game, and some aren't afraid to leverage that for their own benefit. The general vibe of the community has seemed really negative over the past year, I just really want to see the health of the game prioritized. If they're going to address matchmaking then they need to do it properly.

Chaos Shuffle got me playing survivor more again. The reminder that there are still interesting perks to play around with helps.

im enjoying the game more cuz of 2 of the new perks
Turn Back the Clock is breathing new life into a lot of weaker killers for me like chucky. It feels great to use.
Sadly vecna has fell off for me but it was fun whilst it lasted.
On survivor side i am really enjoying Extrasensory Perception. It solves all my frustration with finding anything and also enables stealth plays.Yup, TBTC is definitely part of my regular rotation now. I'm trying EP at the moment and do like it, but I think the 4s is a tad too long. 3s would be better imo.

Why? Is it because they are finally playing against people of equal skill level and therefore failing to get even 10 wins in a row? Unimportant really. If anything, a stricter MMR would make winstreaks more interesting to watch because then they would be winning against actually good players.
As i recall, some of the arguments were that they need to be able to engage with their chat and they can't if they're going against difficult opponents. Another was that they go easier on their opponents if they can tell they're not that good, and if they had opponents on their level then they'd have no choice but to go hard. So basically the feedback had nothing to do with the health of the game, just how it impacts them personally.

The roadmaps don’t mean anything. How many times have we been told that something is planned either to have it abandoned or just never even started?
It was mentioned again recently, after they dumped the anti-tunnel etc stuff. One of the devs said they're hoping the upcoming matchmaking overhaul alleviates alot of the issues people have anyway.
-
I've noticed this too, on the odd occasion I've seen a survivor drop one the scratch marks are plain as day. I just figured it got nerfed again. Who'd have thought they could become even more useless lol
-
Certainly feels like it
-
I don't think they'll be tightening it. Last time they tried even just a slight tightening they got backlash from content creators. Happy to be proven wrong but I doubt it. My guess is they might just change how MMR is gained and removed. Maybe base it on hooks and team contributions? Who knows

I think it's too early to definitively say, but at this stage I say no. I think that, much like Nurse, the people who put the hours in will do pretty darn well with him. But casual players will probably be hit and miss.
The nerfing exhaustion perks argument is kind of funny, like, sorry it's interfering with their 500 winstreak or whatever?

In some way it feels a bit weird that we are begging for years to make Survivor's breathing and grunts of pain sounds equally so there is no disadvantage when playing Jeff or advantage when playing Ace. Changing stuff like this is also pretty easy and fast. We're also begging for years to mute hook screams as an option. Sure, this is a bit more but like I said, we are telling you this for years. Now, giving Stevegull (that causes overstimulating for some people which is not very nice) a special Easter egg and even making a big deal of it with an official post, that has priority and can be done in no time, that feels so weird for some people.
Don't get me wrong, in the end you're just a mod and not a dev that made the decision, so I don't wanna blame you but maybe you could give this feedback to the devs how the pov of some other players is when they see a post like that and that there is more important stuff than pushing an overstimulating "feature" instead of other stuff we wanna rather see
They addressed the equal volume issue in the past, where they had plans to do this but ran into trouble and it ended up being alot more difficult than they anticipated. That's why it hasn't happened yet. IIRC they even announced that they were working on it during an anniversary stream.
The Stevegull Easter egg has been in the game since the ST update, all they did was up the percentage chance of it occurring. These two things aren't remotely alike.

ngl when this kinda thing happens to a game I think its more of a sign of its coming end.
I have noticed that people DC a ton more lately used to mainly be survs but now it also happens with killers a lot too and I don't think any shiny new toy is going to fix it.
Its like the level of burnout is reaching its peak with the community and coming of the worst year this game had I can see why.
I think a DBD2 with a whole new overhaul is the only chance to fix everything.
If DCing is on the rise then it's definitely a sign of a discontent playerbase. These are people already on their way out the door, and if there's more and more of them joining then it's not a good sign. In 5 years, I can legit count the amount of times I've voluntarily DC'd on the one hand. I'm very anti-DC. But I did have a relapse the other day when I hopped on survivor and there were two of us left at 4 gens, and the killer decided to slug me for the 4k. I'm happy for them that they have the time and patience for that, but i don't. This isn't me condoning DCing, just saying that everyone has a limit where they find turning the game off to be preferable to sitting through it. DBD2 would be awesome btw but I feel like if we get it, it'll be some ways off.
-
The emotes don't bother me. There's no reason to let them bother you as you can't control the behaviour of others. If someone is an attention seeker then I ignore them, as the time they spend running around trying to get my attention is time they're not on gens.

I think the reality of what happened was that the younger option won the first vote out of the four options; however, Behavior, fearing the immediate backlash they were receiving in the comments with the competition being called rigged as #3 was displayed first and you had to scroll down to see the last two options, decided to rerun the vote with the two most popular options. Many voters felt jaded toward the black and blue-haired survivor because of this and voted against her out of spite.
While the voting was taking place there were people posting on here and elsewhere that they didn't realize there were two more options. They could only see the young girl and the older man. If the follow up vote was because of that feedback then I don't see the issue. We also don't know that the younger girl won anyway, only that she was in the top 2. For all we know the older woman had the most votes anyway and they always planned on a top 2 vote. No point in making more conspiracies.

When i load up killers nowadays i just end thinking, why do i even bother? My main Myers got character assassinated and i dont find him fun anymore, ghostface is stuck in D tier and the devs refuse to buff him, i dont enjoy playing blight or nurse so i've just fallen out of love playing killer. I tried playing other killers but its just more of the same. Half of the time i just DC as i just cant be bothered to deal with the pressure of the match anymore. I've even started running NOED more just so maybe i can get a kill at the end of a ten minute slog. I just wish i could find the passion i had for the role like i used to.
Glad it's not just me that's been put off Myers. I believe it was GeneralV who was telling me once how Freddy getting reworked put him off playing him, and I didn't understand at the time but I do now
-
I assume because they don't just release surveys for fun or to waste people's time. They're looking for something in particular. I haven't done the survey yet but if it is mostly seeking survivor povs then it's because they feel they're missing something from that side of the game

@Aven_Fallen said:
I think a casual mode makes no sense at all. Because as you said, people will just sweat in the casual mode because they expect weaker opponents.
We already see this with Events which are supposed to have fun interactions - some players dont care at all about the event interactions and just play as sweaty as possible. And a casual mode would result in exactly that behavior and I think it would be even more frustrating for casual players, because if they queue up in the casual mode, they would expect to not play against sweaty players.
Agree. There is absolutely no way i will ever believe most of this playerbase would use a ranked queue. Being a part of this community as long as i have, there is nothing sweats hate more than facing other sweats. The same people who will use every tactic to ensure a 4k every game, come running here telling the devs to make it easier for them to compete once they hit high MMR. They don't want a challenge.

I am aware, I am also aware you're all terrified of emotes or anything different being added to the game, afraid of meaningful change. Yet as soon as the "emote" is added as a perk, it's okay (bardic/one-two-three-4). A different example, but one non the less.
A meaningful block system/avoid system would go such a long way in this game, allow people to control their enjoyment more, even if it had a smaller limit or a time limit, it's better than forcing someone to face someone who is ruining the game for them, Overwatch has it, so does Marvel Rivals, it's just a modern game feature.A proper block system is definitely needed. They could even just limit it to a list of 7 people at a time, to mitigate the chances of someone ending up on multiple lists. Though tbh, if someone is finding themselves on so many lists that they can no longer find a game, then that would show the system worked and was much needed. If a person is extremely unpleasant to play with then of course the community would reject them. That wouldn't be a problem with the system, that would be a problem with that player.
On a similar note, I'm still waiting for them to overhaul the thumbs up mechanism. We should be able to reward good sportsmanship. Positive reinforcement works.

Just as I predicted, they just assigned the more "inclusive" character as the winner. The vote has never been real after all.
Lol people were accusing them of rigging the vote the first time around for the young girl because the page formatting meant alot of people couldn't see the elderly lady and red haired guy were options. Now they're suddenly rigging it for the old lady? This community is funny

Legit though, I'll have a survivor literally right in front of me and I'll still be spamming M2 because I forget that M1 is an option 🤣
-
Ghoul players would never get a game

It's not a good comparison i think, because Sadako and Dredge transport unhindered, whereas Blight and Billy both have to contend with obstacles. So I think the cooldown is appropriate for them (and Freddy too!) while the other two are fine.

My fave is kinda a Catch 22 situation: Plague
She's fun to play against, but only if you're playing with teammates that actually KNOW HOW to play against her. If you're with a team that doesn't know the anti-plague strat, you're gonna have a bad time, but with a competent team, she's a fun killer to face. Her Projectile attack is slow and dodge-able, she's tall and easy to see/mindgame, and as long as she doesn't have the Damaging Vomit, she's stuck as an M1 killer.
Seriously though… since when did so many people forget this very simple strategy:
"DON'T CLEANSE UNTIL THE GATES ARE POWERED! Just focus on gens and chase until then."
Honestly, How hard is that to remember?
Pinhead is in a similar situation. If too many people are avoiding the box, then he can be incredibly frustrating to go against. I remember way too many games where I've been the only one going for the box, then i spectate after I die and my team mates would be trying to do gens through a chain hunt. Anything to avoid going for the box lol

Base-kit endurance, base-kit haste, base-kit anti-camp, and extended hook stages. Four off of the top of my head. You're not worth any further time.
Anti-camp never even crosses my mind as killer. I literally forget it even exists until I see someone mention it. If you find it worthy of bringing up repeatedly, then perhaps this is one of the reasons why you are apparently struggling so much. Leave the hook and patrol gens. Absolutely no one has ever gotten value from the anti-camp in any of my killer games. I don't allow it to happen.

Moris are fine the first few times I watch them, then i lose interest. Even with my mains, I don't even do the final mori because I'm over them. I'll just hook. Plenty of folks are the same way. It doesn't interest them, and I think that's fine.

Imo they should have just adjusted Eyrie or Garden if people hated it, what sense does it make to just make a smaller version of the map just to benefit 'insert role here'? I'm no map designer but wouldnt it make more sense to have just fixed the map or killswitch it later to fully rework it instead of just making a worse version of said map?
Only thing I can assume is that they didn't want to spend more time, money, and resources on those maps. The smaller versions probably cost bugger all to throw together.
