This is why I take any of these claims where people go "every match" or "many matches" without showing any recent match history for example as proof as them exaggerating to try to make their point more serious or valid as just hot air. Its quite human way of reaction to something you get annoyed about you start seeing it everywhere you start linking behavior to it and start jumping to conclusions without any real critical thought. Like lets say the person plays a match gets that behavior in it gets annoyed. They play few matches more nobody does that behavior but then they once again get a match where someone does it. They basically forget the matches in between and go "I see this all the time" and eventually it evolves "I see it in all matches" when it happens few more times.

I believe this is called negativity bias. And yup, we see it alot in this community

I'd much prefer people DC and leave a bot but there's penalties for that, and people keep asking for more penalties, so players will AFK or suicide out instead. It happens everytime i play killer and I just ignore them. They'll usually reengage at some point when they realize I'm not sending them back to the lobby.

I do the same. I make them stay.

  • Then play something else. This is a game. Most people play it in their spare time out of boredom and to escape from real life. These people's lives don't revolve around it to the point where they should have to invest even more time and energy into becoming cracked players just to make you happy. BHVR caters to all players, who all paid money for this game, not just you. If the game no longer pleases you there's plenty of other games you can play instead.

Is this a form of gotcha? Would you like me to share my Blight Playlist where I predict a Blight multiple times? Same for a Nurse and same for a Hillbilly? How about when I outlasted a Spirit while exposed from Enduring, Spirit Fury, and Hubris - would you like that video too? Here I'll give you guys all the material to analyze and then tell me: the killer was bad, next.

    -

    Blight video:

I have more videos if you want anything killer specific you need, @Nazzzak

No, I was complimenting you. It's really hard to get pallet hits on Nurse, but you managed it like a pro. I plan to try that move myself.

I literally was lagging, how can you tell me what is going on - on my own screen? Why did it lag me a little back when I went towards the building to go take the vault?

It's always survivor loops well -> killer is bad.

Survivor gets outplayed → killer is good.

You're running on faulty hardware to tell me that a killer needs to run at optimal efficiency at all times.

I love Fabiano Caruana in chess, Fabi makes mistakes, but he's still in the top best chess players with Magnus Carlsen. If Magnus Carlsen blunders against Fabiano, does the chess community look at the blunder and say that Carlsen is bad? No, unlike the Dead By Daylight community - the chess community actually requires analysis and data to determine what exactly happened in a game of Blitz, Rapid, and Classical.

Yet when a survivor outplays a killer, killer bad. I just find it so hilarious. My killer main friend will send me his Wesker clips and Kaneki clips seeking validation from me - I send him clips of me looping The First, Myers, and Wraith. You know what he says to me the first time he viewed the clip? The same broken down logic you brought to the table. The killer is stupid, the killer is embarrassing, why did you drop the pallet and not greed the first one (he genuinely asked me why I didn't greed an unsafe pallet).

But then I asked him what do you think of me in the clip? *crickets*. It's always about what did the killer do, what did the killer do wrong - absolutely zero praise given to the survivor for completely outsmarting the bull that rushes into the pallet and gets pallet stunned.

Do you know why killers love when survivors greed? So, they can get easy hits through the pallet. You're not that smart to tell me that I played against a bot when the "bot" is one of your own. It's honestly mind-boggling to me the echochamber you guys have built on this forum. I hardly if ever see survivors posting anything and when they do they get dogpiled on by killers such as yourself who not only cannot do deep analysis but has the audacity to demean your own killer peers and not uplift them - look in the mirror, I at least hold my survivor peers accountable and want them to do better - maybe then killers will get a challenge that isn't simply greed the pallet and hit them as they drop it.

Go through all my clips, please tell me when I looped a Blight with a meme build (Red Herring, Deception, Quick & Quiet, and Diversion) and tell me with a straight face that, that killer was bad and us survivors have no skill.

Meanwhile, you guys offer no advice when a survivor struggles against a killer. You guys doompost on here daily, no wonder killer is so "hard" - you work on a script and once that script is broken = killer bad, survivor OP, please nerf.

If killer is so hard and survivor is so easy, why does Otz play with Hens, JRM, and other people just to showcase survivor gameplay. Yeah, come back with a better debate, I'm bored.

Edit: Yeah, expected from an echochamber.

As I've shared this video before, this is how high MMR plays for the survivors who want to learn to deal with the whole greeding and learn how to pallet stun killers effectively.

    https://youtu.be/TXVZ_CJcFhE?si=jT3MaEESg1mrEBTP

As I've shared this video before, high MMR players play safe to prevent the killer from getting the first hit to begin with. Waste the killer's time, that is how you get gens done and counter tunneling in higher ranks.

In the video - you see Doc dropping a flashbang around a car, the Artist looks up, he predrops the pallet to force Artist to put up a bird extending his chase - same mechanic I do, drop the pallet, make Artist play around the pallet.
In other ones, you see Doc stunning a Nurse with a pallet (obviously difficult) doesn't change my point.
You see Doc looping a Nurse and breaking line of sight, which I have said multiple times in the forums.
You see the Huntress getting punished by moving forward with a hatchet, missed, and pallet stunned (lack of patience and predictability).
You see Wraith's and Spirit's hands coming up for a strike, immediately pallet stunned. You see Blight matadored by Doc by a sidestep. (which I've done multiple times.)
People can argue and say there's only one legit pre-drop, but regardless - it's a road map to learn how to actually take chase and the Artist clip is literally the first piece of evidence you see.

I won't get a response from Dinadin or any other killer main on this forum because it's all logical fallacies at the end of the day when the script has no logical framework.

Is that video your gameplay? You're really good at reading the killers moves

  • I think it's fine. If people wanna play stealth then let them. Everyone cries about the "rulebooks" in this game and how they don't want to be restricted in how they play, and that should apply to everyone

  • I've played both roles on that map and it seems okay to me, personally. Just gotta familiarize myself with the layout more.

$80/$140 CAD is a bit much to buy just for the digital goods, especially when the actual value of the price seems to be attached to the goodie bags. I'm hoping these digital goods are just Bloodpoints or Iridescent Shards or something. If it's actually some sort of exclusive item I'm going to be personally disappointed.

Either way, I think there should be more clarification regardless. How are these going to be distributed? Do you have to go to the event to get the digital goods, or will you be emailed a code at some point? If you can't attend in-person, will the goodie bags be mailed to you?

The FAQ said you have to attend to get the goody bag. Doesn't say anything about the digital goods, but it could possibly be a code given in the bags. Definitely not worth a $80/$140 gamble lol

  • I'm sorry :( I voted for that one. I just felt the poor crows have been underutilised!

  • @Leo said:

Why are digital rewards being tied to a ticket for an in-person event? What about all the people who can't just go to Canada?

That makes me curious, if you buy a ticket but then can't go, do you still get the digital rewards?

    Asking for a friend... 😅

  • I don't mind it so far, though I haven't played too much on it yet. Gonna learn it a bit more first before I have a definitive opinion. I am curious as to whether this gen spread is normal? The 2 at the back are pretty much at a dead end, so the foremost one is really the only safe option but even then I could easily corral them back as it's corner map. They put themselves in quite the pickle, but it was a pretty nasty spawn.

So, I can't play right now (RIP to my PC :( ) but I have been around for previous instances of new gen speed builds, so I think it's worth asking a question as a quick sanity check:

Is Fast Track actually the problematic part of those builds?

The last one of these that I was around for was the Stranger Things Teamwork perks, and categorically they weren't the problematic part of those builds. Those perks, together, give one person the equivalent of Prove Thyself; the crazy co-op gen speed builds people were showing off were already possible and largely due to either toolboxes, or just the fact that co-op gen speeds can be kinda fast in a vacuum as long as you don't factor in travel time, opportunity cost, or the risk factor of the killer regressing more of the team's efforts at once with single perk procs.

I'm engaging in good faith here, I genuinely cannot test if Fast Track is the problem here. I just want that concept involved in the discussion because it seems important.

Though, speaking to Fast Track specifically, I do think people often overlook that you the killer are also gaining objective progress while Fast Track is in play. Hypothetically, if one person shaved off half a gen's progress but in exchange you have the entire rest of the team on death hook, it kinda doesn't matter much at that point, right?

"Hypothetically, if one person shaved off half a gen's progress but in exchange you have the entire rest of the team on death hook, it kinda doesn't matter much at that point, right?"

Spot on. Every hook gets a killer a huge step towards their final objective. A couple percentage charges in exchange is minimal. Not near the same scope.

  • Yes yes, we've all heard what your favourite YouTubers have to say

  • If you're starting to get bored of him then that's your cue to try a different killer. The game has over 40 others to pick from. Also Scott Cawthon was very closely involved and had the final say in everything to do with Springtrap's chapter. So you'd have to petition any changes to him.

You even agree this is a recent trend.

Well, yeah. The perk flew under the radar for the last couple of years. Don't see how that makes any material difference now though.

People panicked about this perk when it hit the PTB in July 2022. That was 3.5 years ago. There have been years of panic over this perk that have been absolutely unfounded and unjustified.

But… they were right? The recent boom in Hyperfocus has vindicated exactly what these people were saying 3.5 years ago. Their concerns were hardly "unfounded and unjustified" if the perk is, as predicted, wreaking havoc on the game's balance. The fact it took so long for the majority of players to catch on and start running it doesn't change that. Hyperfocus makes generator speeds so extreme and volatile that hackers regularly equip it to give plausible deniability to their cheated action speeds. Being able to complete a Generator solo in 30 seconds is just absurd, no matter what angle you look at it from.

99% of the time forum doomsayers are wrong, but you've picked like the one example of them being correct about something here lol. If you'd went with Any Means Necessary or any of the other perks that people claimed would "break the game" at the time of its release, I'd agree with you. But the Hyperfocus antis were correct — it just took some time for it to come to fruition.

Hyperfocus doesn't give you the best value when you're losing though. The affect on balance is completely different. It's like, oh fantastic, i got full FT stack value! but my team mates are dead.

Hyperfocus is more often seen at high levels of play, which you won't see FT at because experienced players are notoriously harder to hook. I just used FT against a good Henry with Pain Res and my gen was the only one to get done that round - and i only popped it after one team mate was dead, and the rest of us were hooked once. It's not some game-breaking perk.

You literally answered your own question. People didn't complain because it had counterplay. The progress could be regressed so killers could do something about it. Now that's it's permanent there's no counter play besides tunneling and slugging.

Gen regression will still work on the rest of the gen progress. And not every gen in every game will have Fast Track value, yet I can guarantee most games will have some form of gen regression value. Gen regression will still come out on top at the end of the day. New FT is not eliminating all regression value to the same extent that regression eliminated old FT value.

Tunnelling and slugging? We are in the game's 10th year. You don't need to try and justify doing that anymore. People will do it with or without Fast Track in play.

  • As someone who enjoyed old Fast Track, did people not realize that it also gained tokens for hooks? No one ever complained about that in the years that we had it. The old version wasn't popular because unless you saved it for late game, any tokens you used would be wiped away in an instant thanks to the numerous gen regression perks. All the new version does is ensure your value doesn't go to waste. If it's too much, then the devs will see on their end and they'll adjust as needed. No issue there.

So, this is precisely the situation we want to look out for. Much of the concern I see appears to be based on how the perk could be exploited, but from what we saw on the PTB, these situations were not coming to pass outside of coordinated tests that required setup for the perfect scenario.

If you are seeing this exploited, though, please don't hesitate to share footage of it so I can bring it back to the team and keep them informed!

"these situations were not coming to pass outside of coordinated tests that required setup for the perfect scenario"

I'm actually really glad to see you guys acknowledge this. This sort of artificial gameplay, typically created by youtubers with their friends for views, has been going on for a long time. They then get their viewers stressed out thinking that what they've just watched will constantly happen to them. I hope we have more wait and see approaches going forward.

I would say he is clearly an M1-Killer. But the line can blurry at some point. I think it is important to consider how often a Killer can injure with the M2 and how useful the M1 is in a chase. And if we look at Freddys chase power, then it is not really different than Clown and nobody would say that Clown is not an M1-Killer.

Freddys only way to damage without using M1 are the Dream Pallets, but I would not really consider this something which would not make him a M1-Killer, because the amount of times you actually remove a Health State with those is pretty low.

The map traversal also does not really help him in chase. Sure, you can cut people off, but I think it is way more efficient to do that as Ghoul.

Yup, I would agree. His dream pallets could technically classify him as an M2 killer, but they're way too situational and I consider them more of an anti-loop mechanic since they drive survivors away from tiles moreso than anything else. There's definitely alot of blurred lines, and considering how often people in the community argue over M1 killers (often said like it's a dirty word) it's interesting how M1 classification differs among players.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

Nurse does also not have any way to damage with an M2. You cannot say that just because a Killer has to click M1 that it is an M1-Killer.

A M1-Killer typically cannot traverse the full map in seconds. Or a M1-Killer cannot be on you after seconds and cut you off after they put you into the injured state (or mending state).

Where would you put Freddy? I've always considered him an M1 killer, despite his map traversal and anti-loop power, so just curious

Yeah, I just used Fast Track with Stake Out and it does eat gens.

If anything I'd reduce the amount if you're going to have it be permanently applied to the gen. Other than that, the perk needed something for other survivors to opt to choose them.

People complain about people continually choosing meta, you aren't going to get a great skill check unless you make a build around it. It's on par with Hyperfocus, if anything I'd make it so the two perks cannot interact with each other but I doubt it would become meta for survivor - I do not see that being a thing.

Edit: I will add this is a catch-up perk if anything, similar to NOED. The reason I used it in the past was simply to eat at the gen, the only difference is permanence.

I can also see people arguing that perks should be able to be used together and Hyperfocus, Stake Out, Bardic Inspiration (whatever third perk you want in this slot), and Prove Thyself. - to me, this is a sitting duck build and easily a tunneled out survivor, definitely not going to be used in high MMR - people like their DH, Adrenaline, Windows, and other meta perks way too much to switch to this niche build and even I argue that I would not do this.

You die with Fast Track and the first out survivor, you get no value BTW. I just would not use this build, as I know it's not efficient at all even if in numbers it "sounds" like it.

I wouldn't use it with Stack Out personally. I think its best value has always been when used strategically, such as to help break a 3 gen or simply getting that last gen done in a close call game. I always avoided hitting greats until I wanted to use it, which was also the original trade off - you'd forego hitting greats (and the subsequent extra progression) throughout the game in order to use it at a critical time. I used the new version in a game earlier, hit the last gen in a 3-gen situation with the 9 stack.

I'm not gonna lie, I was surprised to see that they buffed Fast Track LOL.

I always used it on Yun Jin (Fast Track, Stake Out, Deja Vu, Sprint Burst). So, I'll have to try it out when you know, I wanna try the build again.

I think the goal is just to get people to get out of meta. I still to this day have never used Conviction, Last Stand, Hyperfocus, or a lot of the newer perks because they simply do not fit my playstyle.

And yes, I have never used Hyperfocus as I value more consistency - you lose them if you don't hit greats and I just don't care to do the Hyperfocus builds that you see floating around.

So, it's nice that Fast Track got love because no one and I mean no one other than myself and Yun Jin adepts used it, lol.

Not true lol I was a frequent Fast Track user. I haven't tried this new version yet though. I liked just dropping a huge chunk of gen progress with the old version though, it was really satisfying.

  • He's not in that pack. Only Felix, Elodie, Yun-Jin, and Mikaela are included as survivors. Kwon can only be bought on the in-game store.

  • Yeah i noticed it too. Maybe the Twitch one is meant to be a different colour and they used the wrong image?

  • Perhaps they thought he wouldn't sell that well, so decided not to pay whatever the fee is for DLC add-ons and just keep him in the in-game store

All the stats are all inclusive actually. Across the board, her stats are just this high because she does quite literally stomp low mmr and survivors who just never go against her due to her rarity.

I assumed they were only 500 MMR+ because they intentionally discount low MMR?

  • I wouldn't encourage any perk to become 'compulsory' to bring. Last time that happened was Borrowed Time and it ended up becoming basekit as a result. Be careful what you wish for.

  • The stats don't include low MMR, so it wouldn't be that. Plus the lowest killer listed in the stats for high MMR is Spirit at 66%, while Sadako is at 65% in mid MMR, so for all we know she has a decent kill rate in high MMR too. She just didn't make the stats cut. She is crazy good when it comes to map pressure, and survivors need to manage their time efficiently around maintaining gen progress and keeping her power at bay. I think high MMR survivors are just better at that time management aspect due to their experience.

I'm not talking about downing someone after a successful unhook. Like I said, you blew that match and they deserve their out. End game is, in the broad sense, killer-sided. Survivors can have zero hooks and the killer can still win by slugging everyone.

And even most M1 killers have something that let's them travel faster or better than survivors, whether it be speed elements like Wraith or Clown or teleports like Dredge.

Not even slugging, just by regular ol gameplay the endgame is always killer-sided - survivors have far less resources available to them by the time endgame rolls around. Less pallets, less items, and typically less team mates. It's kind of mind boggling that OP claims that it was survivor-sided even prior to the 15s endurance. That sounds like a convenient way of ignoring their own performance during the rest of the game.

  • All of your past discussions are just the same sort of complaints. I feel like you probably haven't ever really enjoyed this game, which is fine, it's not for everyone.

  • There's definitely enough content to draw from, so i can't see why not

  • @terumisan said:

blame the devs survivors giving buffs every/every other patch

Blame recent power-creeping killers for survivors needing buffs every other patch. Believe it or not, killer and survivor changes go hand in hand. As an M1 enjoyer myself, I'll have no qualms about them throwing some buffs my way. But people need to accept that it will inevitably result in buffs to survivor as well, because the health of survivor is also an integral role in the longevity of this game we all enjoy. Each individual Killer has their own kill rate to observe, but survivor escape rates are looked at as a whole. This means that strong and weak killers play a balancing role when it comes to escape rates, and making one side too heavy will tip the scales.

  • Don't even joke, 2026 has been bad enough so far

  • I didn't realize the importance of sound and wouldn't wear headphones or even put the TV volume up. So as survivor I wondered how my team mates knew the killer was coming. I'll add that i did watch streamers play but only killer, I wasn't interested in watching survivor gameplay. So I didn't understand there was a terror radius lol thankfully i picked up on it all very quickly

  • After the herb fiasco I'm surprised they're still allowed to lol

  • I don't see hate for Pinhead specifically, just that succeeding against him takes team effort so in solo queue that can go either way. If the survivors work together (ie take turns going for the box, keeping chain hunts at bay) then the game goes smoothly. If only one person is making the effort, then the game is a slog that you just want to be over. So it's more apprehension, I think, with Pinhead, as you don't know what your team mates will do.

My most memorable solo queue Pinhead game was a couple years ago. I was the only one going for the box, I was the only one getting into chase, and so i died first. Of course I spectated. One team mate was in basement moving from locker to locker, one was crouched in a corner next to an exit gate even though multiple gens were still needed. The third actually hopped on a gen but then a chain hunt started, and she just kept trying to do the gen through it. The other two would just fight off the chains in their hiding places. The one next to the exit gate was right next to the box too but he didn't go for it, just stayed in his corner. It was the weirdest thing to watch. I'll never forget it. Pinhead obviously noticed the lack of other survivors so checked basement and found that survivor, which is when I stopped spectating lol

Its because the effort required by the killer to be a good with nurse or a blight player is higher (I mostly see complaints about aura read nurse and I myself don't like blight speed ad ons ) Kankei tho the effort required to be a "good" player is very minimal meanwhile survivors are expected to give there all counterplaying him.

Nurse? Break LOS and use rocks as they can effect her blinks

Blight? Depending on where you are you can use random objects making him use more bumps and potentially avoiding hit with right pathing.

Kankei? well first hit is just free unless you are not seen at all, Then during chase I'm expected to play pallet chicken like I'm versing legion but if I loose the pallet game I go down vs getting injured with legion OR I can do this precise vault back as the ghoul decides to vault towards me (Counterplay taken from videos someone posted in another ghoul thread)

This. Nurse and Blight are harder to master, but pay off with the time investment. There's a reason Ghoul is so popular, because he pays off immediately. High reward for no effort.

  • I chose the left killer and the flail. For the survivor, I chose the same cosmetic as you but I chose the first option for accessory

  • Yeah, I've said before it should be dropped down to 3s. The rest i think is fine.

The game will never really be balanced is the issue. By its nature as an asymmetric game it won't be balanced. The difference in game balance between low and high mmr makes it totally impossible to create a power balance that is fair and fun for both roles at all mmr levels. This is why i think the ranked/casual playlist split is the best way to make the game enjoyable for the most people.

The problem with a ranked/casual queue is that alot of the people who want it would have no intention of using it properly. What they really think will happen is their difficult opponents will go to competitive and they get easier games in casual. I think they'll still be surprised when even casual opponents steamroll them on occasion (because skill still matters) and the accusations of people being in 'the wrong queue' will start. The only way it could work in any real capacity is if there was an automated system, but in that case they may as well just fix and tighten matchmaking since you'll pretty much get the same result.

Ain't that irony lol. All the people who actually put the years of work and commitment in get banned because they make mistakes sometimes and degrading doesnt exist currently. So they eventually get full banned or a long enough one and just kinda realize they werent making change anyway or if they were it was very rare. So just move on. The people who come in to make trouble can make infinite accounts and command space and get more attention that way. I have a lot of respect for people sticking through though so a post like this is good for getting those people their recognition. You all are awesome.

Yup. We lose genuine long-time contributing members because they dare call out these agitators with multiple accounts
