  • Lol had my first experience with this earlier. Only me and a Claudette bought a terrormisu and the Claudette DC'd during load in. Not enough Terrormisu to be worth playing I guess.

I’m on the verge of quitting as well. I can’t take playing Wesker more than half my games. I shouldn’t ever get a killer 5 matches in a row, it’s ridiculous.

Only had one today but he helped me find hatch after one team mate went afk and the other 2 gave up on first hook. He was a nice Wesker.

    Did anyone receive it yet?

I just received an "attack on titan leaving the store" e-mail but not the code for the charm

I didn't even get that email

  • Anyone have a screenshot? I haven't seen it since the update

i mean he probably did win all them games that day (happy for him) but of course WE KNOW his average win rate in solo q is no where near that . We can look at top survivors streamers like skermz, jmr, swarm class, probzz and see none of these people have a 75% excape rate when just solo q. yeah these streamers rarely lose in a two man let alone more....but solo q a different story.

Yeah, I looked at my stats for the last 25 games I had and it's 40% escape rate.

Looked at my stats for the last fortnight and it's 27% escape rate.

I had a week in early June where my escape rate that week was 10%.

Factors like: coming up on rank reset (everyone sweating to get as high as they can), and the anniversary event (lots of killers playing a bit more chill) can affect it.

You expect us to believe that you have a 76% survival rate as a solo survivor?

More like 56%, which is still impressive (the game doesn't count hatch as an escape, it's considered null/neutral)

  • I held out for ages on the Switch before just making the move to PS5. I refuse to buy everything all over again, I've just grabbed my favourites, but I don't regret doing it. At this point I consider cross progression just a nice bonus of getting all my older stuff back, if it should ever happen.

  • I play him every now and then (mostly for my youngest, she loves him) and the vast majority of people are super chill. I don't take the game seriously though, and I think the game generally matches your energy.

Thats the problem with MMR. Doesnt matter how good we get, were always going to vs better survivors.

That's the point though. A dev said you will reach a point where your way of playing will work about half the time. The game is designed to keep giving you more difficult opponents. You will never - or should never - reach a point where you are 100% winning. If you do, then matchmaking is not working.

And then they stand under the hook with crows anyways because they don't want to play.

    What does this fix exactly?

Or the classic dropping a pallet and repeatedly vaulting it until the killer comes and hooks them

  • @Sonzaishinai said:

That's honestly a very common logic loop humans have. Our brains are designed to be problem solvers. As long as you win it won't detect any problems.

The moment you lose it activates and frantically starts searching for what the problem is and for solutions and those solution very rarely look inside.

Confirmation bias kicks in and it forgets about the previous matches you did win cause it didn't recognise those as problems.

Displayed out and with balance in mind it seems very weird ofcourse but as far as how our brains work it's a very logical way of thinking.

Win is good, lose is bad, what prevents us from losing less . Balance is not part of that equation unless you force it in which most in the heat of the moment won't

That's why, no matter how much it's complained about, devs are 100% right about using stats to govern what needs changes and what not cause you can't trust the human brain to be unbiased.

DbD should honestly be in psychiology courses cause it's impressive how many biases and logic loop holes you can find in the avarage player

Yeah, back before I started recording my own game results I used to think things like camping and tunnelling happened alot more to me than they actually did. I like taking note of various aspects of my matches as it takes the emotion out of it and keeps things in perspective.

  • I planned to but 1. the feedback from console players hasn't been very good, and 2. I'm not good at multitasking and he seems to require a fair bit of that

  • Sprint Burst, Inner Healing, Resurgence, Lightweight. I was pretty happy, surprised I got two general perks. I didn't even look at my perks and as I spawned in and ran I was like, ooooh zooming

Its still very much possible to do so without playing in a boring way, in fact just focusing on 1 Survivor after 2 or 3 gens pop just guarantees your loss further becuase they would still have access to at least half of the maps resources (whcih are across the map from the remaining gens if the survivor running is smart) and now you have 3 survivors that you're leaving alone to do 2 remaining gens. I have seen so many games where a killer would of still very much had a chance, but they think they HAVE to tunnel to be able to turn the game around. And that is so far away from the truth, but its such a common misconception that I'm not even going to try

Yeah, it's interesting to me how killers panic and think the game is over when a couple gens pop early. As a solo survivor main, it means nothing to me when we get a couple gens done in the first chase. Because that first hook is when the game changes. One person on hook, one going for unhook/heal, one now in chase, and only one left to sit on gens. And that's if everyone is playing their role perfectly, and they're usually not.

I've seen countless games end in a 4k despite 2-3 gens popping early. It means nothing to me, I don't even see it as an accomplishment and I definitely don't see it as a guaranteed win. Tunnelling the unhooked person who led you on such a great first chase to begin with? That usually gives us a better chance. Now the other 3 of us have nothing else to do but gens.

  • No, my solo games are the same. I had a slugging Oni just now but that was the first slugging killer I've had in a couple weeks (last one was a Condemned Sadako). I record my game stats and I see a tunnelling killer maybe once every 12 games, and a camping killer even less. Games are usually sucky because of team mates in solo.

Edit: actually it was a Wraith last week who was slugging

  • Have you recently come off a series of wins? Might have been bumped up into an MMR above your comfort zone

    Nice!

But something has bothered me since last year. Maybe I'm just missing something obvious but I can clearly see 3, 4, and 5 candles on the 3rd, 4th, and 5th anniversary cakes. This year's has the finger candle in the shape of a 7. I can't seem to find a 6 on the flan. Is there one?

    There's 6 body parts - 4 eyeballs, a finger, and a tooth. So maybe that's it?

Yesterday I played 42 games and only got 2 masks. Almost every match I was tunneled out, camped, bleed out, and my average BP per match was 12k excluding BP offerings (roughly 60k per match with event offerings).

Realistically, it took me longer to P3 a Survivor during an event where +535% BP is possible almost every game than P3ing a Killer normally.

42 games and only 2 masks... wow. I played 13 games and got 9 masks! One mask I got when I died second last on Borgo, with 2 gens remaining, so I wonder if hatch spawns a tad quicker on that map because I don't know how I got it. I died second last in a later game on RPD and didn't get any mask. Were you playing in the evening? I played 2 games at night and decided no more. The other games were during the day and while the killers still play for kills, they were alot more chill. No camping or tunnelling or slugging for the 4k.

  • During the day yesterday was great as a survivor. Killers still played for kills but everyone left with so much bp and there was zero BM. Hopped on at night for some games and gave up after two lol both killers were... something else

  • @luvcraft said:

also, does the invitation aura only show up for survivors? when I play as survivor I can see it, but when I play as killer I can't. Maybe the survivors are just getting it before I notice it?

I've only played as survivor so far, but they're hard to find. I feel like I only see them when I'm within a certain distance from them.

  • The anniversary event is on and survivors have to get the exit gates open to claim the exclusive cosmetics. I play solo and gen rushing never happens in my games, people just stand around doing nothing most of the time. But they're actually smashing gens these past couple days. Everyone wants the cosmetics.

  • I haven't come across anyone doing this yet, thankfully. I think the terrormisu provides incentive to participate in the game, as well as the masquarade challenges

They are basically in EVERY single bloodweb in multiple numbers. You can get 3-4 a web. There is ZERO reason to not use them outside of being selfish.

They're not as generous as last year :( I'm getting 1 per bloodweb and a couple times a mystery box has given me an extra

  • Yeah, those 'blind the killer' challenges are really the only time I don't mind facing a Skull Merchant. Go plant a blastmine on one of her 3 gens. She'll always kick it.

  • @PotatoPotahto said:

I'm getting pretty miserable games as a killer for the entire week, I only won a couple of games where survivors were moreless chill, but otherwise it is a sweatfest. So yeah, I'm trying to camp, tunnel and slug every game now, unless survivors are actually goofing around and not pop 3 gens for my furst down.

Survivors have to open the exit gate to get their cosmetic. That's why they're all rushing, because the more time they waste the more likely they are to die. BHVR need to make the conditions around obtaining the cosmetics easier than getting the gates open.

  • I don't enjoy farming but I don't see farming killers enough for it to bother me. I just do gens.

  • I don't sorry, that's why I'm not sure if it was the same person both times. I need to pay better attention to names.

  • @brokedownpalace said:

I've played about 30 matches today and only gotten 3 masks. Now, a few of those times were my fault because I was using charges to complete challenges but most of the time we're not getting anywhere close to opening an exit.

I've discovered that if you have charges and die second last, hatch opens quick enough that you'll get your mask. I'm glad for that because as a solo player it's probably the best way to get the masks, as getting all gens done and the exit gate open isn't all that easy. So pretty much the last two survivors in a match can get a mask without having all gens done.

Edit: maybe not. Just died second last and no mask. Not sure how I managed to get a mask earlier when I died second last though.

  • I've often felt like this too but I know it's not a thing. I watch PC streamers during chase and the killer seems so slow to catch up, but then I'm in chase and I feel like the killer is up my a** in 2 seconds flat lmao. It's honestly probably why I enjoy going into chase with a Nurse. I'm not good at hugging walls and looping, but keeping out of line of sight and being unpredictable is something I can do.

Also Made For This didn't really make a huge difference in my chases either, so I went back to my exhaustion perk.

  • I've seen a couple P100 Blights. Not sure if it was the same person both times though.

  • Thanks for the heads up. Guess I'm bringing Distortion. Probably the best way to avoid getting tunnelled is by not being first found. I wanna get bp value.

  • Yup, bad manners. I don't like to say 'toxic' because I feel like that word gets thrown around too much in this community.

  • @malloymk said:

Unpopular opinion, but Lethal is a problematic perk. I think it should only keep the extended aura reading and not the beginning of game aura reading.

Strong killers like Nurse, Wesker, Blight, huntress get too big of an early game jump when they really don't need to. "Just run distortion". True, but perks as counters to perks is just more RNG and it doesn't really address the real issue.

Perks that significantly aid strong killers probably need to be toned down. And Lethal would be near the top of the list for me.

Two weeks ago I'd have said nah. But after seeing killer mains lately arguing that survivor perks should have more conditions attached, it does make me feel like the very popular perk that simply requires you to spawn into a game might also need more conditions.

  • @CorvusCorax86 said:

How is the community approaching the event? What is your past experience?

Can we expect less tunneling / camping and overall better matches?

I remember the 5th anniversary I stopped playing after a week because i felt there was too much BM going on. Came back when the event was over. The 6th anniversary though I thought was great, I didn't have issues with anyone. I'm not sure though whether there was actually a different attitude amongst players in general between those two years or whether my definition of BM changed in that time.

I believe BHVR is based in Canada (I could be wrong), so you have to consider that when translating timezones. A bit unfortunate for those in Oceania, EU, Africa, and Asia, since you have to put it more work just to understand times/dates that things release.

I live in the US (Central Standard Time, or CST) and the event starts at 10 AM for me, since the timezone they posted on Twitter was 11 AM EST (Eastern Standard Time, sometimes expressed as ET instead). You will have to do some translations to your timezone.

Yeah, their 11am is always my 11pm unless we have daylight savings, in which case it's midnight. It was more the dates that threw me.

It really does seem like his hate came out of no where all of a sudden

There's always been comments about seeing Wesker way too much. They're always just lost in other topics. He was killswitched this week so all the comments were just congregated in one spot this time, which makes it seem like it was out of nowhere.

  • I actually thought it was today. Being in Australia, I get the times and days mixed up sometimes lol

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

Yeaaah... Blaming Made for This for a Meme-Build being bad is not really the way to go. I know that Killers are currently trying to get it nerfed, but this is a bit too much.

Scratched Mirror Myers was never really viable outside of an indoor map. And even then you are pretty much limited to only Lerys, because even Midwich with fairly unsafe Pallets will be a challenge for Mirror Myers, because those Pallets become quite save against him.

Sure, Made for This makes it worse, since the Speed Difference is even lower (and this is already the thing that makes it somewhat of a Meme). But you dont chase with Scratched Mirror anyway, you ambush people and try to cut them off when they cannot see you. Which means that the bigger part in you having a really bad game is most likely the Map, because despite the Rework, sneaking up as Myers (who is like 5 meters tall) is not really possible.

So it is more that a Meme-Build on a bad map for it not working and Made for This making the already bad combination even worse. But Made for This is not the main culprit why I did not work out.

Lerys being the only map for it is true. 9/10 times I see a Lerys offering it's a Scratched Mirror Myers. Back when the Hawkins map was around, that offering was used a lot too. I had a game once where a Lerys offering went up but a survivor also chucked up a MacMillan offering and won the toss. The Myers didn't even attempt to play, he immediately went afk in a corner. It really is a meme that doesn't work in general unless you play on a specific map.

  • @ReverseVelocity said:

At least everyone will get max points? Maybe instead they should uncap the bloodpoint categories against her, then people would have a lot more fun lol.

Max gen points, maybe. Zero chase points though.

  • @Saiph said:

It's not just miserable like before. It's literally the worst that it's ever been.

Do NOT play solo queue in this game.

I played many terrible games before, like, games that were unplayable, that made me angry, or games that wasted my time. But nothing is like DBD. Playing solo queue in DBD gives you such a unique sense of despair and loss of faith in humanity that I believe it could seriously be considered part of some sort of Milgram experience. Just like you, I played in 2022 and thought it couldn't ever get worse, but I was wrong. Not only has the average IQ somehow still managed to decrease, but now every competent player has transitioned to SWF, and what remains for your teammates selection is now an exclusive catalogue of the most useless, selfish and incompetent DBD players on Earth. The end result is truly unimaginable. You'll see players with 1000 hours drop shack pallet on your face while you're the one getting chased by the killer. You'll see your whole team hiding in lockers or basement while the killer is hooking you on the other side of the map. You'll see people doing dull totems and chests while you're going 2nd phase on hook. You'll see players with 15 hours on DBD get matched with players who have 10000, and somehow the one with 15 lasts longer in chase. Realistically, most scenarios you'll experience will be so uniquely and creatively stupid that I don't think I can even predict them.

And don't hope for MMR to save you, it is an absolute joke. You will regularly lose 5, sometimes 10 games in a row, then when you think you are in the abyss of MMR and your teammates have reached negative chase time, when you think maybe the game will finally show a bit of mercy, THAT'S WHEN, you'll face a Nurse TTV on their 100+ game winstreak.

You might think "OK I'll lose most of the games but at least I can still have fun with the killer". Nope. The game nowadays can not be carried no matter your chase skill. As survivor, expect to fight mostly Knight / Skull merchants who "secure objectives" (aka. 3-gen, facecamp etc.). They have no business chasing you, at the moment they'll see you drop a single pallet they'll switch to one of your teammate prodigies instead, who will last 5 sec, and then proceed to triumphally suicide on hook and leave you 3v1 at 5 gens.

If you absolutely want to go back to the game, play with at least 1 friend. Solo queue is cannon fodder for killers. MMR is a joke. Do NOT play solo queue.

    This is beautiful

  • It can be pretty dismal at times. We got a new quality of life update several months back, where we can now see what our team mates are up to. So now you get to actively see them not doing gens.

  • Haven't saved up any. The offerings are really easy to get in the bloodweb, judging by the last couple anniversaries, so one game and I'll be set.

  • No. The devs seem to want to encourage chase and map pressure. Both tunnelling and slugging tick at least one of those boxes. Camping is doing none of those things. It's literally just standing still waiting for the next survivor to come along to stick them on a hook and camp that too.

  • It wasnt supposed to. It was bugged.

  • They were never meant to work together. One requires you to be healthy while the other requires you to be injured.

  • Why does it need to be changed? If people want to play injured then they can.

  • WoO, Overcome, Deja Vu, and We'll Make It

  • I've seen more Singularitys than I have SM. Even Knight I don't see that often. I've actually seen Hag more than Knight since I started recording my stats again after my break

1 … 107 108 109 110 111 … 149
