  • Can confirm, each time I launch the game, I'm in desperate need for some therapy

  • They really aren't though. Sure, the last couple of chapter reveals weren't very exciting to me, but tbh nothing DBD related really excites me anymore.

The midchapters are pretty much always lackluster. The last one that got me excited was the Doc rework. Ever since then, they have been adjusting killers and slapped the term "rework" on it when in reality they usually tweaked some numbers or gave them small buffs or nerfs. The changes with the midchapters are usually too minor or too few for me to get really invested in them.

Same with this midchapter. They really just reworked some of the addons and made some QoL changes to both Legion and GF imo. Not really exciting in my eyes.

But hey, if you enjoy the midchapters then that's great for you. They just never really appealed to me.

  • Oh yeah... So thrilling... 99% of the people that were left behind just gave up and threw some insults at the survivors that left them in the chat. The excitement really got to them.

  • Should have pressured gens

  • WoO is now a solid perk. Nothing more, nothing less. I hope they keep it that way.

Not to be rude, but sounds like you might need the break from DbD. If you take it that seriously. DC penalty = players go play something else while they can't play DbD, perhaps to never come back.

You act as if the people that pull the plug will be missed.

I couldn't care less if you receive a DC penalty to a degree that makes it so you don't want to play DBD. Good riddance.

  • If they ever added a new gamemode, I'd prefer it if it actually were something different rather than "here's some random perks, now play the same game again".

Just because it was worse in the past doesn’t mean it isn’t bad now.

Tsk... Tsk... We don't allow rationality on here. Pack your bags and leave dear sir.

  • An in game shop where you can buy whatever you need gets rid of most of the issues regarding the grind. Need a specific perk? No worries, just straight up buy it. Did you lose your flashlight last game? Buy a new one, easy.

It also keeps the grind alive for those who want to unlock every perk on their character. You just don't have to waste a ton of BP into useless items, offerings and add ons that pop up in the bloodweb.

Dedication and passion for whom? Only their own self-interest. (I am talking about first down/first Kipper sighting DC btw)

If you don't like to play against a certain (set of) character(s) then why even play the game if you instantly leave the other 4 players to a miserable match when it does not go your way?

There is a minimum chance of roughly 4% to encounter your unliked killer, more with more characters.

I personally hate yasuo, Yone, master Yi and a bunch of other characters when i play ADC in league of legends but i don't rage quit when i get them in the enemy team.

Ragequitting like that isn't a show of passion or dedication but a lack of spine or backbone in my eyes.

Don't worry mate, I hate people DC'ing just as much as you. I was really just ridiculing them

  • At this point, prestiging really is just for the die hard fans who are willing to spend an extra 1k hours in prestiging their characters alone. There's no benefits to it and honestly, in the current state of the game in regards to the grind, it makes perfect sense.

The grind just needs fixing, but hey lucky us, the devs acknowledged the grind being an issue a couple of years back when they first made some small bloodweb changes. Give it a year or 2 and they'll figure that maybe, just maybe, the grind is taking its toll on newer players more than the OG's. They might just do something about it!

  • I don't think he needs a rework, just some help in the form of reverting some changes. Nothing more, nothing less.

  • @fulltonon said:

It's funny how people do this despite all the que time bullshit and DC penalty, I mean at least suicide on hook so you will not get penalty?

It shows dedication and passion in what they do. I can respect that.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

They wont until it is nerfed. And then they go for Sprint Burst, because they realize that it is far more annoying than DH, especially if more players are running it due to the lack of options.

But yeah, I would also wish that every snowflake would stop thinking that THEIR Thread about DH is special and needs to be posted...

The thing with SB is that it actually requires some sort of "skill", being the fact that you need it to be able to activate at the right time. The only thing Dead Hard requires you to do is failing in a chase and get injured, and a working finger ready to press "E".

They are. The question is what one is the lesser of two evils?

Why choose between 2 evils? Why can't both be addressed?

  • The I frames erase mistakes when the killer outplays you.

The distance erases mistakes/overestimation of your own looping capability, but also allows for greedy looping when DH is used by good survivors who don't overestimate their own looping capability but simply take the extra distance of Dead Hard into account.

    Both are problems.

  • @Lx_malice said:

Before I was indifferent on it, but now I want just to spite those who don't want it. Just the mere mention of it seems to send them over the edge for some reason.

When "the mere mention" happens every goddamn day, yes it gets really annoying. In case you haven't noticed, they just recently added a new chapter. A week hadn't even passed and the FNAF threads started showing up again.

It's always some straight up nonsense as well. For real, one of the devs could take a selfie on the toilet and these people would find a way to link it back to FNAF.

getting good at killer is pointless, it actively punishes you by matching you against cheaters and sweaty SWFs.

Ironically, by trying to get better at the game and get zero kills, you derank and thus don't face sweaty SWF's.

Facecamping on the other hand hands you a "2k or more" according to op. In my experience this is usually the case as well. In other words, you won't derank and in fact will rank up making the chances of going against sweaty SWF's much higher.

The only difference is, these sweaty SWF's probably didn't reach their position by being bad loopers and know how to handle themselves in chase. You on the other hand reached your ranking by standing still in front of hooked survivors so you'll have an even worse time catching these survivors as you hardly have any experience chasing survivors.

  • The devs pulled it off before to ignore the unified crowd so I wouldn't be surprised if nothing happened, but you can hope I guess...

eh, at this point is gonna happen at some point ever since the hype with Hellraiser. Heck, it was on the official DBD survey so devs are aware of it.

Literally Steve in Smash Scenario. If you like it or not, it's bound to come ingame at some point.

Note the word intense then go do a little bit of research on hate & how it has shaped communities & discrimination in society. You may find that your use of the term is a fair bit insensitive in comparison to the potential privileged outlook you're seemingly displaying.

And how exactly is the word "hate" being used in this context as a way to discriminate?

But then I'm also torn, because if it was in the game we'd never have to see another of these threads.

Nah, I'm convinced that these people will still find a way to keep on seeing FNAF teasers and kindly announce it to the rest of the forums.

  • Omg no way they released another FNAF teaser? This must be like the millionth if we're counting the other teasers over the last couple of years. I'm sure this teaser will be different ...

  • It's kinda stupid that 1 single perk nullifies an entire playstyle and helps survivors relieve pressure to an absurd degree.

And a forum where I can complain without being constructive

Oh hell yeah. I can already see this board game becoming a massive success!

... I see what you did there 😏

  • Please tell me that camping, tunneling and tbagging are part of this board game. It wouldn't be the complete DBD experience without them...

  • I disagree with the idea that every needs to be an anti loop killer but the current CoH meta does make it really hard on killers that have not much going for them in a chase.

Before CoH this didn't really matter because you could injure the survivor and come back later to get the down. Now, you're pretty much forced to end chases because injuring survivors is almost always a waste.

I just wished they handled CoH better because BHVR is, I think so at least, shooting themself in the foot. Most anti loop killers are extremely annoying to vs so we're stuck in this endless loop of killers needing a chase power to compensate for their lack of pressure due to CoH. Survivors in turn will be annoyed by killers with stupid anti loop powers that usually eliminate any sort of looping or a satisfying chase. Any sort of chase ends up being "w-key simulator".

i think you're forgetting the fact that all m1 killers are worthless, if you're not against total newbies? what happens to them in the current state of the meta? maybe bhvr could do their job and make the needed changes.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2826581#Comment_2826581

im a survivor main. maybe i just think that running around a table/rock/tile isn't engaging or fun gameplay? it's honestly embarassing being watched playing this game. people ask you "is this really supposed to be fun?" and i can't even argue back lmao.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2826579#Comment_2826579

it literally is? and you're exactly who i meant when i said that it's an exploit so deep rooted that people forgot it even was one in the first place. i'll tell you ancient dbd lore kiddo, buckle up.

once upon a time dbd came out. the premise of the game was surviving against a killer. as people normally do when they're chased by a serial killer, they try to run away as fast, and as far away as possible from him, and try to lose him. then someone found out that since the survivor hitbox is smaller, they could run around any tile (yes, even without pallets or anything) and the killer would literally never be able to catch up, since their bigger hitbox meant making larger loops around a tile. that's how bloodlust got invented. soon after, the game went to #########, since bvhr decided to start putting their infinitely growing layers of bandaid fixes instead of trying to solve the issue.

You might think that looping isn't engaging gameplay but the reality is that the majority of the player does enjoy the whole interaction between killer and survivor during a chase. It's literally what makes DBD fun and, in my opinion, separates it from any other game. BHVR is never going to make any drastic changes to looping because they would be killing their own game.

  • I laugh, knowing that my majestic looping skills triggered this poor manchild so much to a degree he felt the need to continuously slap someone in a videogame.

And in the meantime I just look at a youtube video or eagerly wait for another Sluzzy post to make my day complete.

I don't quite understand what you mean by "healing yourself for 32 seconds is the exact same as getting someone else to heal you (16s)". If they heal you and then you heal them, then yes, it's the same. But if they only heal you, then it's more efficient to let them heal you.

And I don't think it's a "small price". I mean sure, it's nice to have a 5th perk. But it would be such a time consumer. Because first, you have to find a good totem, then you have to bless it and hope that the killer doesn't find it. And when a survivor is injured, they have to know if it's a good time to heal. And if it is, then they have to go to the boon radius to heal for 32 seconds. But if the killer finds you boon, you have to do it all over again. Because if you bless the same totem, the killer will know exactly where your boon is.

While if you use Self-Care, you just have to know when it's a good time to use it. And when it is, you can just start healing. It's way faster and less risky.

Getting healed takes 2 survivors of their objective. In other words you lose 32 seconds of gen progress when you heal someone, which is the same as Selfcare.

When you have been playing for a while, finding totems isn't hard at all. Each main building has one of these inconvenient totem spawns. Each totem in the area of a completed gen is a good totem to bless because the killer has to go out of their way to snuff it out. There would indeed be more risk involved and strategic thinking. I don't see this as something bad as the killer in the end has to make a similar decision whether they can afford to waste time to snuff out the boon or not. And when a boon is placed inconveniently for the killer, it doesn't really matter whether they know where it is because as I just said. The killer would have to choose whether it's worth snuffing it out or not. Currently, the answer is pretty much always "no" because rebooning doesn't take long at all and the effects of CoH are insane.

It's a lot easier to tunnel the CoH survivor to get them out of the game. It aligns with their objective and gets rid of the boon permanently after all.

  • @Kira4Evr said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2819382#Comment_2819382

Because not only do you have to boon a totem, the killer can also snuff it which means that they can disable the perk, forcing you to boon it again if you wanna use it. So the heal would technically be slower than Self-Care. And do you really want the whole team to heal for 32 seconds?

Technically it would be slower, sure. But I'd argue that's a small price to pay when you grant all other survivors a 5th perk slot.

Yes killers can just snuff it out, wouldn't it be a crazy idea for survivors to boon in spots that are inconvenient for killers to snuff out boons?

Time-efficieny wise, healing yourself for 32 seconds is the exact same as getting someone else to heal you (16s). The only reason a perk like Selfcare gets stigmatized for being horrible is because people don't know when to use it and when not to. I see this as an absolute win if survivors actually have to use their brains when relying on CoH, rather than just being like "well guess I got injured, lemme just get to this boon over here".

Suddenly killers can injure survivors again to pressure survivors rather than having to commit to chases.

  • @Kira4Evr said:

If CoH only had 50% of the normal healing speed, it would be worse than Self-Care IMO

Would it? Why? It's still a free perk slot for all other survivors. How can you objectively say that CoH would be worse when it literally gives free Selfcare for other survivors?

  • You clearly haven't been very long on the forums if you believe that survivors don't get called "toxic" for playing optimally...

  • Pig...

Her dash is useless for the majority of the loops, she's not even great at being stealthy because she's so slow, her beartraps are really RNG dependant and her addons suck.

On top of all that, I hate going against Pigs because they usually tunnel off hook and recently we've got these extremely skilled AFK Pigs sitting on top of Jigsaw boxes.

She's a pain to play as and go against.

  • @gendoss said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2815496#Comment_2815496

Well the gen speed nerf was a huge one. It's also that pretty much every time a survivor perk comes out that people freak out about it gets immediately demolished like Boil Over. Pretty much nobody uses CoH anymore because it was never that good to begin with. Everybody just spent 16 seconds blessing totems only for them to be destroyed instantly. Just bring a med-kit, those have existed since the game came out.

What gen speed nerf? You mean the one from over a year ago where they made it take you slightly longer to repair a gen if you were working on it with more than one survivor?

Also, I'm not sure what you're on about... CoH is literally meta... And why shouldn't it be? It's a free 5th perk slot for all other survivors and allows you to be healed at all times (which deminishes most of the pressure a killer can create by injuring survivors alone). Like... Disagreeing with people is one thing, but making stuff up to try and prove your point is just going to backfire on you...

  • Honestly, in my eyes, the main problem is that survivors can boon an infinite times. Take away this aspect and while the effects may still be strong, now there is at least some high risk/reward. You know... The same mentality applied to killers and hexes. Survivors still get to choose where they boon and as a result can always boon in places that are inconvenient for the killer.

In other words, even with this change, I feel like boons have a lot going for them. But now there's some actual counterplay and strategic decisionmaking involved from both sides.

    - where do I boon? Do I want to boon now? Should get rid of the boon now, or is it not worth?

Isn't this the game dynamic the devs are going for anyways? Strategic and interactive?

IE - Killer is Ghostface...you know when they're in chase and not need to worry about observing the area for as long as the chase is up.

The same applies to any stealth perk, as well.

If I'm wrong in thinking this, let me know!

Well it depends. Might also be an interesting idea to allow killers to see these icons as well. It closes the gap between solo queue and SWF on one hand but also closes the gap between killers and SWF.

This is just an idea I'm throwing out there. I have no clue whether this would turn out busted for killers or not.

  • No, you will still get stunned for the normal duration and drop the survivor.

  • Even 4.6 killers like Clown struggle with mobility and pressure overall so the whole mobility argument lacks either way in my opinion.

See, as I said, SWF is already a problem. Why are they worried about them sharing perk info...

What kinda backwards logic is this? If something is already a problem, why would you ever consider it making more of an issue? Isn't the whole point of acknowledging that it is a problem that you should fix it and not make it worse?
