  • I keep trying to convince myself it's good. The build - Undone, Oppression, Merciless storm, and No quarter. People are just too good at skill checks to make the perk viable. I like Mr. @sizzlingmario4's idea

I'm just sick of the needless whining over people unwilling to learn how to play against my Main when he's nearly perfectly balanced and the only things wrong with him are some mechanics jank that could be fixed, plus maybe a bit more QoL. He's not a problem, never has been, never will be.

People need to learn to play against the Killers instead of begging for handholds.

There's a lot of this in the community right now. Survivors unwilling to adapt to change rather make a fuss about it and it works because if one side stops playing the game is no more. Obviously it goes both ways but I feel like historically (Don't quote me on this) killers have taken nerfs a lot better than survivors. This Chucky thing is really bringing people down however so… We'll see

Well... Then you should stop playing Survivor and start playing Killer.

I see Moris pretty much every second match and sometimes even two in one.

    @Zuiphrode said:

I'm not buying an animation I rarely get to see.

I think this is exactly why BHVR made moris basekit. Whether they are going to sell them or not- it is nice seeing them more often. It's a shame all the sore loser survivor players are trying to get them removed from basekit because they don't like that killers can do they little dancey dance when they win now.

Oof I am going to feel it for the few friends I know went to it and had a better time there. It seem mobile versions of games never last too long or even if they do, eventually they close down.

I did watch a few stream and like how fair mobile version is, the biggest being that killer hit boxes was so low even if they are right up your butt it seem they miss lol and fast vaulting means you never get hit through windows.

How does that seem more fair? Killers cant hit what's in front of them? Ok

  • @[Deleted User] said:

There were so many questions on the survey by the last parts I think I was clicking random boxes cause I wanted it to end lol.

I always feel bad taking surveys because half way through I feel like this is all I'm doing no matter how hard I try. Gen Z jello brain go …

  • @Xyphus said:

To be fair.. As upset as I am about all of this.. I have to say ONE thing in favor of BHVR..

If this community wouldn't CONSTANTLY scream "Change this - Change that - Do it immediately!" .. Wouldn't cry about just everything and create problems that don't exist (latest version of Skull Merchant before the butchering)..

They might actually have time to do something right..

Still - they chose to follow this and their time-schedule seems to be way behind.

That was the nice thing I had to say in their defense. There's nothing more left at the moment.

Now I'm back at saying my prayers that the Freddy rework will HOPEFULLY be worth the years of waiting

If the Freddy Boogers rework doesn't impress people I fear for the future of this game.

You can still play her in normal queue. She only killswitched in the Bonechill queue.

W- but who wouldn't want to play the event? (I know SOME people actually prefer not to) It's event time darnit!

  • NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO PLEASE

Shot in the dark here but BHVR if you're reading this- just let me have access to houndy I pWomise I won't exploit he he

In all seriousness this is just a major bummer- I paid your silly price for your silly poodle and I played with your silly bugs until I got silly buffed and now I just want to play my silly dog trainer pirate (on bone chill event gamemode) and I can't? Guess I'll just consider myself lucky I have 37 other options to pick.

    GRAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH (genuinely tweakin' rn)

  • It splits the player base too much. If 2v8 was a part of the game ATM a vast majority of people would want to play 2v8 exclusively. Nothing wrong with that how ever when people want to go back to regular 1v4 they must deal with the dreaded L O N G W A I T. (Not to mention killers have to deal with the L O N G W A I T in 2v8 regardless.) There's a lot of other things that factor into this as well but just from my dum dum armchair dev pov it makes sense why they can't/don't want to implement it fully into the game at this moment.

Also I think once 2v8 is played out it will become a wasteland and the vast majority I mentioned will be tired of it and back to 1v4. Making it a limited time event incentivizes people to enjoy it while it lasts but return to normalcy afterwards.

    No burn out

    No L O N G W A I T…

    No chucky revert :'(

I play killer all the time too, and I agree teabagging at the gate is annoying. But it's not even on the same level as having someone slug for 4k then have the ability to force the survivor to watch while they show off after they made the survivor bleed for several minutes. It's like the goal was just to add toxicity to the game.

Both are problems, and the answer isn't to add more of the same.

Also, thanks for calling me names :)

(idk if this is client side but it seems my response disappeared)(will delete any duplicate posts)

I apologize if you are genuinely hurt by being called a dork by a fellow dork on a video game forum.

Personally I'd put tea bagging at the gate above mori-ing. Moris are for survivors as much as they are for killers. Just a quick animation showing off (arguably) the whole point of the game and that is- the cool horror characters we can play as/against. I did just say today that tea bagging at the gate is a part of DBD's charm these days and I'll stand by that. It feels more like a goodbye or a gg to me than anything. In the same vein; to me a mori feels like a final handshake between killer and survivor. How ever I understand how a mori could feel like a spit in the face especially if the killer uses underhanded tactics to get you there. That becomes easily comparable to survivors using similarly underhanded tactics to make sure they can tea bag you at the gates. Either none of it is ok or all of it is ok and regardless people are going to continue to do it.

  • @smurf said:

Also, I support reverting the finisher mori update. Don't make built-in victory dances even more common.

Built in victory dance is nice especially after you've been dealing with this for years.

Just take the loss and watch the animations dork. It's what we've been doing

    dbd-survivor.gif
  • Slugging for the 4k = Winning the game? Since when do people play a game to lose? I will let people have hatch or escape through the gate from time to time, I understand that we're all just trying to have fun. But sometimes I need to maximize that bp and I'll use any tactic available to me to secure that. The same goes for survivors- hence bully squads, swf, etc. Hard pill to swallow I know; but sometimes you're gonna get stomped (Happens to me all the time). It does however become wholly toxic and near unacceptable when a killer is just slugging to waste time. That is dumb there should be a penalty for having everyone down on the ground for longer than 3 minutes or something. This only becomes a problem when survivors crawl to hide and the killer can't find them again therefore giving an undeserved penalty if the killer is trying but can't manage to find you after 3 minutes. There is no reason not to hook people if they can't do anything besides crawl for 4 minutes.

Of course there are exceptions. BHVR would have a better idea of numbers than I.

Fair enough. I do notice a lot of killers my gf goes against are typically vanilla. It's still not the worst idea in the world to make alternative moris purchasable but BHVR has a little more to worry about before they try to push another way for them to farm credit cards. I'm sure a majority of the fan base would be upset they're selling moris and not fixing the game

  • @Lixadonna said:

Killers don't spend money on Cosmetics. It'd be a waste of resources. All you see are Killers in defaults or free.

    what-meme.gif

You'd probably faint if you saw the total amount I've spent on killer cosmetics

  • As a killer main I more so than anybody would like it if people wouldn't just sit and t-bag at the exit gates but at the same time… It's kind of part of the charm right? Even though it is toxic I've grown to accept it and honestly don't mind most of the time I have to chase those pesky lil' time wasting buggers out of the match.

  • Good potential 3 gens, good clown/other ranged killer sniping spots, easy to see. Good map for me idk how survivors are liking it though. It seems balanced but I also feel like I dominate every game I get there. Could be because it's new, could be because it's small how ever I think the size is balanced well with the main building blocking off like 1/4th of the map but for the most part you can just ignore it and rock with a 3 gen by the killer shack.

  • I like the new map and agree that old Ormond needs a visual update. What I want to say most of all how ever is - That stupid underground loop that leads to the tarp circle or the main building is hilariously bad. I was thinking; theoretically you could get the survivors trapped down there somehow and then just patrol the 2 exits since they're right next to each other and keep them down there the whole game (If they're stupid enough(Most survivors are)) Which is improbable but also it's funny how many survivors try to loop me through there and I just meet them at the other end like… I am not going down there 🤷

  • Happened to me; Trying to p3 twins rn for oppression lvl3 and I'll make progress on the bloodweb - load into a game - when the game is over I go to pick up where I left off in the BW and all of that progress is gone with all my bloodpoints back where they were. Kind of annoying…

  • @danielmaster87 said:

I think you're losing more momentum than you're gaining by defending a hex, especially if you're unsuccessful. If the killer has free time to do that, or is defending their hex as they've already got the ball rolling (3+ stacks of Devour), he would have won regardless of Thrill, and probably regardless of any hexes. The survivors need to be pressuring the killer in order to win, and it sounds like most teams just crumble when the game situation prompts them to do so, because most survivors are bad at the role (they don't do gens, hide vs heal, etc). It begs the question: Is the perk overpowered, or does the player caliber make it overpowered?

I never understood the Singularity so-called synergy with the perk. He puts a camera down, right. But then you just EMP it. EMPs are everywhere all the time. If you're not doing that, it sounds like the killer's using his brain and strategy, and you're not. The rest of the killers mentioned will be even weaker than he is at defending totems, and that's saying something.

You are right about the function that Undying serves on contrast to Thrill. But in what world would moving your hex to a hidden, better spot be worse than it taking slightly longer to cleanse? I think Undying is better at this point. But both are weak. You're spending an additional perk, which can be destroyed, to protect a perk which can be destroyed either way. If you just get down to the meat of what these perks are and how they play out, they're not impressive or overpowered at all. They're noob stomp stuff; you never see em in tourney/high level.

That singularity build was broken because the emp wore off before a survivor could finish their action making it pointless to emp in the first place.

  • It's a statement about the irl world of designer dogs. BHVR clearly wanted to send a message and make people feel silly for overpaying just to have a dog with an afro.

  • @fixblitzskin said:

when the perk first released obviously it had to be a scourge hook but know there is only 4 uses ( one for each survivor ). The main problem with Pain resonance is that you have unnecessary RNG. Jagged compass doesn’t help this perk it helps every other SH perk because they are activated everytime someone is on a hook. I don’t think pain resonance needs to be a scourge hook anymore. Is this crazy talk or no

The way my killer build works (LP + FttE + SH: PR + GE) is - I hook every survivor once on regular hooks to get the effect from grim embrace then I start hooking them on scourges so that for the mid game/last half I'm getting the effect from that. From time to time I'll throw this strat out the window and start hooking anywhere as soon as I get a surv down. How ever for the most part it has served me well and think that being able to keep the charges by hooking on regulars is nice even if not necessary.

  • If you're playing on pc and you're not an epic games using pleb - Steam Achievement Manager

Unless you think that's lame, I understand. But this is my go to when I stumble upon an unobtainable achievement

    • I know that doesn't answer your question really. I'm not sure if the achi is unobtainable or not

  • They have to give people a reason to buy the new license in march. Why buy anything else when chucky is in the game? Well because they broke his legs apparently. Still gonna play good ol' C H U C C

  • I always knew my hate for this map was justified. What's up with the garbage tiles recently?

  • If you ain't coming for no chili, what you come for?

  • @danielmaster87 said:

I don't think they're gonna be reverted. This killer was dead on arrival, and has still been nerfed like 3 times. It's clear Chucky was a rug pull cash grab that will not (or at least ought not) see play. Like Freddy or Skull Merchant, he's a chump's killer. You may as well be playing to lose, or hope to come across players weak enough to lose to him.

But chucky is #12 picked on nightlight? I know nightlight isnt the end all be all on dbd statistics but they're worth noting and saying that chucky was doa and clearly a "rug pull / cash grab" is just willful ignorance. Lots of people enjoy playing him even after they broke his legs so don't be so pessimistic there buddy. You're the chump killer if you cant win as chucky he is easy and fun and I do wish they gave him his kneecaps back but I'm not gonna let that stop me from having my fun.

  • @SidneysBane1996 said:

I actually enjoy 2v8 way more nowadays. Having no perks actually feels good as killer since you don't have to deal with all the BS survivors have nowadays, with little detriment for you since all good killer perks were nerfed anyways. Also, it's way rarer to find an 8 man swf than a 4 man, so I guess the most unbalanced thing in the game is kinda fairer in 2v8.

KwF is the greatest thing to come to dbd in a while. Me and my buddy who doesn't play dbd nearly at all were actually smoking 2v8's like it was nothing. Coordinated killer plays are very satisfying.

I have two builds for the Plague that I love running.

The first is: Batteries Included, Thanatophobia, Fire Up, Hex Noed.

I got the idea when going from fountain to fountain felt like I was doing some giant pentagram ritual spell. That led to my fascination with the concept of the Plague as one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. I wanted to translate the idea of things getting worse for the Survivors as time went on. So in this way as Survivors get infected, as generators complete Plague gets stronger and Survivors get weaker. Even once the gates are complete Noed becomes this final piece that transforms the trial into a final apocalyptic setting. Bonus points if it’s egc and the Survivors are brave enough to cleanse the totem.

And for when I feel evil: Infectious Fright, Dark Devotion, Unforseen, Hysteria

Very interesting- Respect for having more thought than "must gibe survivor swirly" behind a build.

Batteries included is a very underrated perk IMO and the synergy in that build is very nice, I've been looking for some way to make batteries work for me and this might be it. Good stuff

  • No time for theories. Play blight for free bp until they break his legs like they did with the C H U C C

I love running no perks or addons for a few games from time to time. It helps me keep my core killer skills up to par without relying on perks to do the heavy lifting for me. Yes, I will lose some games that I could have won with 4 slowdown, but going in with the intention to practice my skills rather than win 100% of the time feels great. Plus is 7 or 8 hook states really a loss?

Everyone gets BP in the end perks or not. However sometimes it feels good to style on a swf with a REALLY good build lol

  • @justadreampallet said:

a gen perk, (eruption or surge so I don’t need to focus so much on gens.), I’m all ears, (knowing what mind game to play or if I should just run at them), then 2 killer specific perks, like aura for Vecna, chase for neme, or gen for trapper.

But all in all you just want to find the perks and play style that suits you. Experiment and just have fun is key to any build.

I have a… What I think is a good gen regression build kinda similar. Deadlock (Recently I've been using Surge instead) + Eruption + Pop Goes + Undone. When it works it works and when it doesn't I cry

I do enjoy my m1 killer pallet chewer/haste build:

    • Nemesis/Friends Til the End
    • Game Afoot
    • Brutal Strength/Shadowborn
    • Slowdown or one of the above for more shenanigans.

You always gun for the obsession. FttE/Nemesis helps you ensure you can get in chase with obsessions consistently.

You then break pallets to get the Game Afoot haste to stick on people. If you get Shadowborn at the same time as well, you basically get Legion Feral Frenzy hard zoomies for 10 seconds 😁

Very useful against WoO pre throwers 😁😁😁

Reminds me of what I've been running recently. Lethal Pursuer + FttE + Rancor + Grim Embrace (Should've put this in the start of the thread; my fault)

Need a good pallet build so I'll have to try this out when I get home. Nemesis + Game Afoot seems stupid nasty

I mean, this would literally reduce your cleansing speed by 100%, so you wouldn't be able to do totems at all. TotH + Devour Hope would mean survivors have to win in under 5 hooks.

Better bring some brand new parts is all I'm sayin' 💁

  • The absolute pandemonium this would cause would be worth it to see

  • @[Deleted User] said:

EDIT: nevermind. It's coming in bugfix 2

    Where'd you read that?

  • I'll let you know after I get home.

  • I didn't believe it was as good as people were saying- so I gave it a try on doc. Build: ToTH + Devour + Dominance + (I forgor) I have never felt so evil. We were on Gideon's too so it was just extra cooked- They def need to adjust it sooner rather than later; I feel like the winter events are always mid for reasons like this.

  • How much have you played her after the bug fixes? I honestly thought she needed a nerf but after reading the notes it seems like (if they truly did fix the pathing/getting stuck on walls) houndmaster players can officially start dunking on survivors hard especially with decent builds. In other words- I don't think these changes will make her any weaker.

  • I was explaining to a group of survivors that my power bugged out after they "flashed me" and of course that was censored. I get that they have to be cautious but sometimes the censorship is just ridiculous.

  • I had the idea to turn off the sun on eyrie and I still think it's a good one

  • Nothing boils my blood quicker than a notif spammer. Usually they aren't as good as they think they are and the hook gets to taste their clavicle. However on the off occasion the notif spammer knows what they're doing I just do some mutual farming with them. Let them drop pallets on me and get pallet breaks get knock downs let them wiggle off etc. If you cant beat em' join em'. I tend to lurk around lower mmr because admittedly I am not that great and another big factor is I can't stay on one killer for too long since I own all of them (it's so hard to choose!). However it may be my saving grace since I don't run into sweats who partake in this certain behavior (pun intended) near as much as I probably should.
