I've become so apathetic about my matches that I don't even try for 4k's in a majority of them. Surv's get gens and I get a few hooks, maybe break some pallets but then I open the gates 95% of the time. More than anything playing this game has become an menial exchange of momentary virtual suffering just for some BP.

I stay off of anon mode to invite stalkers to my profile lmao… Let them look how much of a gamer I really am, you mfs (My friends) do not have badges like me fr.

Based Shroompy 6969 post; let's go. 7 years on the dbd forums and still active is actually impressive. I clicked create acc just a few months ago maybe less and I swear I've seen the same 20 posts get re-posted and reworded over and over again. Congrats buddy!

These are my few (somewhat) creative outfits.
I love knight's default head TBH ^
Soon to be retired January fit ^
Probably seen this fit 100+ times ^
I prefer to rock bloody clown with the letter opener ^
I think I'll keep this sweater on forever ^
I call this one early 2000's childhood nostalgia Ghostface ^
You might be able to tell I don't own this but I've been thinking about it. Just missing the body ^
The rest of them are linked sets or just kind of mid, no need to be redundant and post the same Miss Fuchi skin every other artist player has and such. I do have a decent amount of cosmetics which is both a privilege and a shame… lol
Almost forgot to mention. I don't really have a main, I do play a lot of clown, chucky, (R.I.P king) and more recently blight... But I've been playing a lot of Freddy for obvious reasons… I really bounce around so I figured I'd show all the good "(somewhat) creative outfits" I have; or… partially have to offer. -
As much as I love a steady drip of new content… What's the point if none of it works and just causes problems within the community? (e.g Houndmaster) At times it feels new content is driving people away instead of bringing them in, but who among us knows for sure. Something is working I suppose. I appreciate BHVr for wanting to keep things fresh, how ever when impatient gamers are seemingly more interested in QOL improvement over new content… The choice is obvious right? Maybe they have a whole boat load of fixes just waiting for the fnaf wave.
-
I think they had the right idea and he feels much better to play so far. How ever I don't understand the need to include the dream pallets. It's clear BHVr is nervous to some degree that dream pallets are/could be too strong, hence Freddy being able to be stunned by dream pallets, survivors being able to see dream pallets and being able to tell what is or isn't a dream pallet etc. I would have been much happier if they removed the dream pallet bloat… It has potential and I'd prefer to see it improved upon in a fun fair and balanced way but with BHVr's track record I'd opt for just removing it and focusing on the dream snares and dream world mechanics.

IMO Bot Fills are one more reason to not play 2v8 as Survivor. The Bot Fills will obviously only be on Survivor-Side, since this is the side which has not enough players in 2v8. But nobody wants to play with Bots.
At this point, they should make 2v8 a full PvE-Mode and then Killers can have rapid queue times and play with a friend against Bots.
I agree, as a killer player I don't want to play against bots. Kind of ruins most of the fun IMO. I'm sure there's a lot that goes into why queue times are/have been the way they are… I feel like there are enough players but then 2v8 rolls around. Some people wait hours for lobbies on dead games so I guess it could be worse… I didn't even get to try the first rendition of 2v8 because I always got impatient and alt+f4'd before I could find a game. The 2nd time it came around I was actually finding games so clearly whatever they'd done before proposing bot filling was working to a certain degree. Bots are unnecessary and will just harm the queue times even more. Even if killers get a lobby full of bots, most are not going to stick around for that. I don't stick around for a bot lobby on 1v4. That will in turn lead to upset killers, if both sides are unhappy it's pretty obvious they should choose a different approach.

The thing with monitors and tvs is that no one knows which ur using, but whatever you use is personal preference, your not creatingif you use either sonce anyonecan get either device. Dpi enhancing on the other hand is blatant and obvious in game, its not hard to tell who's got it and who doesn't. Also third party software is third party for a reason, its not the device's software, its an add on which for other uses is ok if you're just comfortable with high sensitivity. In games like dbd or fortnite, this is an obvious competitive advantage, especially when used to bypass features like Oni's 90⁰ rotation lock.
For the record I figured you were talking about a mouse's intended software. I haven't even heard of 3rd party software that allows you to bypass dpi caps, and I still find it hard to believe that would give you an advantage anyway. But since this discussion is occurring under a bug report - probably soon to be closed by staff due to redundancy. I do not disagree that if Oni has a bug where you can bypass the 90 degree turn radius while preforming a demon strike, then it should be fixed no question. Sorry to the console players who can't turn very fast, how ever I will continue you break your ankles.

Icl thats always been considered cheating. Also im not suprised an oni main who probably abuses this is trying to defend the bug's erasure
I like Oni but he's not my main. I'll be just fine if they squash this bug, Oni is so easy that one shouldn't need to abuse bugs to succeed as him in the first place. But adjusting dpi is not cheating + once someone passes a certain amount of dots per inch I find it unlikely for it to be possible to control the mouse anyway.
-
I understand why some are disinterested in the bdsm tome lol. I for one think it's fine and does fit the tone of the game. The skins are cool my only problem is they're for characters that have 83 quadrillion cosmetics already. Meanwhile The Unknown has gotten one tome cosmetic since his release nearly a year ago. Sure he's getting one of the cooler artist from the fog skins we've seen in a while but my point still stands… Did we really want another huntress cosmetic?

Queue times are supposed to be reduced due to bot fills as well which is a double edged sword to say the least… I'm half and half on it, hoping that legion isn't too oppressive. Amongst other things :/

Giving killers a 5th perk slot? Might as well make lightborn basekit because that's what most people would use it for I'd expect. 4 slowdown perks + lightborn for the lulz = profit.
If not that then it would just be chaos. Too many perks for killer alone, it would be cool if both killer and survivor had 5 slots but we really don't need all of that right now don't you think? -

FNaF probably will bring a lot players to house but if they want to keep them, they need to make this game fun for everyone again. Killer players are not the only customers they have, they need to remember survivors are also played by real humans / customers.

The only downside to using GE is the tokens. If you don't use the time given properly it goes to waste after 4 charges. I pair it with LP, FTTE, & SH:PR to maximize potential. Gameplay loop is simple; Find someone (not obsession) → Hook → Obsession revealed; go for someone else → rinse and repeat until everyone has been hooked once ending with the obsession. Then if you played it smart you SHOULD still have 4 token of pain res to use to keep the gens down for even longer. To answer your question… I don't think it's TOO strong but it's not weak by any means
-
@danielmaster87 said:
I really don't trust "killer mains" who entertain this kind of nonsense. Killer has it harder than ever before, not easier. I see it every day, because I load in, go for 2-4 hooks, boom, all gens done. That's WITH Corrupt and Deadlock. The survivors aren't even that good in chase or on gens. They're just efficient enough in each to where you lose almost no matter what, because it's gonna be a close match no matter what. And I called this, mid survivors beating really good killers, but nobody believed. You just can't take away every possible avenue for the killer to have pressure, and expect them to stop the gens anymore. It's all a farce. It's all about getting lucky enough to face bad survivors. You can't compromise with these people, because they think that killers seeing aura, or survivors not having base Unbreakable, is bad game design. They couldn't recognize good game design if it hit them at 80mph. You're literally talking to a brick wall, because the compromises are always 1-way, always killer nerfs. All you'll do is affirm to the devs: "See? Even killer mains agree these changes should go forth" and then killers get even more essential strength taken away. There are countless matches right now that are close when they have no place being close. Because why? Survivors holding a button down? That's what we need to address.
"The survivors aren't even that good in chase or on gens. They're just efficient enough in each to where you lose almost no matter what"
Ha ha.
Admitting you can't properly pressure gens WITH good killer perks is pretty rough. -
In addition. Hangman's trick has so much potential to be a fun, no harm no foul perk especially with the addition of jagged compass. HT was made with an older game in mind and as unfortunate as it is - we do have to face the facts and propose old perks like this deserve to be updated.

@Mandy said:
This is an interesting discussion, I think there has to be some distinction as well between slugging for pressure in a match, which most people don't seem to mind, and slugging for no reason - when you slug survivors at 5 gens or something. Also, you down someone, see someone hanging around with a flashlight, so you down them - one of them is naturally going to be slugged for some length of time…whatever "solution" there is to slugging has to take those factors into consideration (if there's even a solution for slugging).
@Yggleif I also remember those days, so you're not remembering incorrectly. It was either a straight up trade on the hook, or you needed a couple of survivors to be able to make a successful save.
Mandy has made an excellent point here. There absolutely is a distinction to be made that I feel is typically overlooked. Some killer players really do make an effort to not ruin the other sides experience and like I said originally; slugging is built into the game whether we like it or not. If you are preforming proper counterplay as killer by avoiding flashlight/pallet saves etc. someone is bound to end up a slug for a moment. On the other more unfortunate side of that dastardly coin there are the killer players who have taken to the unholy "slugging for the 4k" which in theory could be considered another valid strategy for killers to secure their bp (typically not the case) One could argue that there is valid counter play strategies to avoid your whole team getting slugged, sure. Most of the time that doesn't matter and your team ends up on the ground anyway and unless someone has unbreakable and hella gamer swag you are completely at the mercy of the killer player at that point. Problems arise here and I think something no one acknowledges enough is… What is BHVr supposed to do about toxic players who choose to ruin the game for others? Hence Mandy's statement "if there even is a solution for slugging" They can't control people obviously, they could make more rules and threaten toxic playstyles with harsher punishments but that always has a chance of backfiring and/or effecting players who have only had the best intentions. Among other things - these are the issues BHVr has to consider before pulling the trigger and making changes willy nilly.

Although I know it's not a popular idea, I think they key to improving DBD is in not putting so much pressure on survivors to survive and killers to kill. When I say that, I mean killers should get a good amount of points for chasing and hooking people, especially spreading out the hooks. And survivors should be amply rewarded for looping, unhooking, altruism, surviving till endgame, etc. That way everyone feels like they accomplished something and can spend points on their characters, even if they didn't win.
I know the devs have made it clear that all they care about are kills and escapes, but I think the results of that opinion are what we're dealing with now, in unsustainable playstyles that result in rage quits, quiting the game, bitterness, anger, etc. If people felt like playing the game was accomplishing something enough, maybe so many people wouldn't feel the need to play like their lives depend on it. Nobody likes to get curb stomped for a tiny bit of bp.
When the gameplay loop consists of kills and escapes. I can only imagine it's hard to completely change the fundamentals, after all… At least in my mind the allure of the game is being able to survive and/or kill people as our favorite characters from movies or games that people like including the base game killers of course. When you disincentivize the whole point of the game just to solve an issue that is caused solely by the playerbase it loses a lot of it's allure. In the same vein - when the issues caused soley by the playerbase are not addressed or dealt with properly over the span of YEARS the game still loses allure. So a good start would be all about finding a middle ground and I think you're on the right track here.
@MaTtRoSiTy said:
I think Pulsar hit the nail on the head early on here.
Unfortunately there is always a minority who cannot behave with civility and they will take any exploitable mechanic in a game and abuse it to inflict misery on others, simply because they can.
So everything has to change for everyone to not allow a minority to cause the majority of the misery in the game.
Mr. tRoSiTy and Pulsar make an excellent point as well. All in all no matter what is or what could be; the biggest problem comes from players who abuse the game in order to ruin peoples fun. As a killer player I must admit I've had moments of weakness especially early on when I would get frustrated with survivors and decide it's time for me to have fun by denying the fun of others. Which is such a loser, chud, sad mindset but it obviously does happen. I see a lot of people make this point then immediately follow it up with hypocrisy by proposing killers should have no legs or arms and survivors get a basekit bazooka that can instantly open the exit gates regardless of how many gens are left (over-exaggerating for comedic effect there if you couldn't tell) Realistically we should try to find a way to deter people from playing like giant buttholes.
All in all I hope that the devs can take something away from this thread and others like it in order to truly improve quality of life for everyone equally so that we can continue to enjoy their game.
Little wholesome side note here. I heard about DBD when it came out through payday 2 with the crossover masks they added and I was like "these masks look horrible this dead by daylight game is going nowhere" and now I play it religiously despite all the problems. Payday is cooked and DBD is on top I mean look at thisAll the love to Almir and the overkill team but this is pretty funny. I will mention payday 2 has nearly the exact same players as DBD on steam charts but it is just steam charts and that's not the true statistic considering crossplay and such. This has everything to do with payday 3's unfortunately poor reception and nothing to do with dbd. Again just a funny little aside I wanted to point out seeing as I've been reading a lot of "this game is doomed" type of posts lately lol.
-
You can level killers with bp you get playing survivor. So level has nothing to do with anything besides time played. Their* btw

@Pulsar said:
I'm going to say it.
Tunneling and slugging are unhealthy mechanics that are taken to extremes by portions of the playerbase.
There should be safeguards against these extremes.
I think that is what I was trying to get at here. I absolutely DO NOT appreciate the part of the player base that is hellbent on abusing parts of the game to the other sides detriment. I agree whole heartedly that BHVR should do something to adjust the quality of life for survivors because without survivors what am I to do as a killer player? Can't kill survivors if there are no survivors to speak of correct? There should be safeguards against these extremes 100%. But the answer is not to flail and kick and scream like children, it is to do what DNet89 did and propose actually fair and reasonable changes that could benefit both sides.

That's just... your opinion too.
You're right though, the two aren't comparable in an important way: While both things are actions taken by one side that essentially let that side show off once that side has won the game, in the case of the finisher mori, the losing player is forced to watch the opponent show off their win. But with teabagging, the people doing it can be forced out of the match or the losing player can just choose not to watch it. So moris are inherently worse than teabagging since they force the losing side to watch the winning side show off their win.
Forcing your opponent to watch you do a victory dance on top of them once they've lost them game sounds very disrespectful to me.
The finisher mori has also given the killer a basekit ability to deny the benefits of perks and gameplay for survivors, and has given an incentive to slug for 4k. It has essentially only negative impacts on gameplay all so that we can bring official victory animations into the game.
Just two fine folk having opinions huh…
I will say something that I probably should have said earlier. I'm all for letting survivors skip the mori animation and head to the lobby quicker. That seems like it could really benefit everyone. Killer is happy they got to see their cool lil' animation and survivors who have seen that animation 6 times that day can skip out on it an go next. Nothing wrong with that. How ever I still don't feel the mori is equivalent to tea bagging. It is definitely gratifying as a killer player to be able to see your killer do something cool at the end of the game, maybe more so than the survivor player who worked hard to prevent that. But I've said it before - I will always feel like the mori is more of a handshake meaning "gg glng" as opposed to tea bagging which has always felt like "gg ez gfys". Again these are just our opinions but there's a reason to have an open discussion about them. People should want to understand the other perspective not just scream in vitriol about how the other side is unfair. -
BHVR was barely able to save the game after the problems and bugs the twins introduced. I don't think were going to see any major changes like this in a while or ever tbh.
How ever if BHVR could realistically do this and not absolutely nuke the game code integrity… It's still a bad idea. I can see the seething survivors already. Sure he'd be slower but that would give him so much more FOV and the only downside of using victor is his pov screen is 45% the floor. Plus the twins are already considered a no skill killer -
@camping_site said:
For quite some time Steam stats show that game's player base (or at least frequent players) is just not growing. On the other hand, BHVR some time ago showed that there are 1 million players or customers for the game (now could be more), meaning - they are not staying. I think among few things that is causing it is complexity of the game. There are nearly 40 killers, hundreds of perks, addons etc., so starting new needs a lot of determination to learn how to play them and how to go against. My idea was that BHVR could retire killers that currently are not at their best performance or otherwise could have a rest. I am not advocating for specific killers but just the sheer volume of. Also, this could help make new interesting perks or buff existing ones ( less need to adjust them for strong or weaker killers) and overall move on from projects that didn't deliver (i.e., Skull Merchant).
Problem with this is - people spent money on these killers and even if ANY owners of the potential "retired" dlc agree with this idea. Where does that money go? Are we compensated fairly? Does BHVR say "suck it nerds" and take the killers out and proceed to not focus on fixing their spaghetti bowl game just to pump out new potentially retire-able characters? I get where you're coming from but it's just not feasible. Even if this was reality- do you really think it would attract more players? I think making the game not bug tf out - removing security vulnerabilities - and introducing ACTUALLY new and interesting mechanics instead of "dog" and "drones" would attract more players. Give the survivors something new like guns or something, ANYTHING. Friday the 13th (R.I.P) had weapons like that and well… I guess that didn't work out. lol
-
No matter what I try typically (at least) one survivor still complains in post game chat. How ever on good days when I'm feeling generous I play as dracula and use only his wolf form running around biting people but never downing. As soon as they catch on I'll let one or two pet dogula before they get out. If people are mean to me I switch into hellfire spammer drac and wreak havoc but that is rare. People like petting dogula A LOT so
-
I've had my own fair share of problems with these portals and I've found that if you just forget about hitting them at the portal and know the map well enough you can typically guesstimate where the survivors are likely to run and cut them off it usually catches them off guard. For that reason alone this map can be spared from my scrutiny. That and you can across map hatchet throw to guard the exit gate switches as huntress lol
-
@smurf said:
I agree with op. In the time since the finisher mori was released, I've come to find them more like officially sanctioned teabagging :/
That's like… Just your opinion man. There's not even a hint of disrespect with the mori(s) - it's something both sides can enjoy. Where as teabagging is born from disrespect. The two are not comparable.

I think we should remove the Killers Terror Radius. It's pretty useless because you can already see the Killer, oh and while we're at it, we can remove the Red Stain too because as Survivor it just looks ugly.
So for the same reason we should also remove Scratch Marks and Pools of Blood from Survivors. They're red so it would be fair to remove them because we're removing the Red Stain.
Lets also remove 2 Hook States because it prolongs the game unnecessarely. This will also remove tunneling because you can't get tunneled since you instantly die now. Having 3 hookstates causes headaches because you have to remember them all the time.
Since we are making games shorter now, how about we make them even shorter so people don't have to spend more useless time inside a match. Killers can now Mori Survivors as soon as they're downed.
