  • @Nickenzie Just an FYI. In my opinion, somebody saying "Survivors can loop you for a good while" is not an implied insult as even the best of the best among us can get looped by master survivors. It's just a fact of the game, nothing else.

I know that, even the best killers get looped for a good bit but he's referring to I get looped for a while as a insult. Basically he's saying that "Survivors can loop you for a good while" to me not because it happens but because it happens to me due to me being bad. However I could be wrong so I apologize if I am wrong! :)
  • The problem is that developers need to get their head back in the game. Literally.

I gotta love all these survivor mains not wanting a asymmetrical horror game! :)

It's funny how they think 1 survivor should equal in strength to a killer, I'm literally about to ask my friend Peanits to lock this thread due to how many survivor mains whining instead of actually discussing the problem with me!

It's definitely getting better, I'm not talking about that! I'm referring to the hook changes, I didn't agree with that! :(

I suspect the increased number of hooks was in preparation for rebuffing sabotage which was discussed recently.

I'm actually excited for next few changes! :)
  • No map fixes eh?

I guess you missed the part where certain longer loops have been shortened, and the fact that the landmarks have all been tweaked yet again.

I'm sure more are coming, but you can't sit there and act like no map changes have been made.

It's definitely getting better, I'm not talking about that! I'm referring to the hook changes, I didn't agree with that! :(

“Survivors shouldnt feel safe in front of the killer” - devs

(the required disclaimer: ive got 1800hrs and been rank1 on both sides at the end of the season dozens of times)

knowing that looping is a problem, why are we nerfing bloodlust?

Bloodlust vs a skilled survivor is already nearly useless, since after looping him for long enough to get enough bloodlust to catch me, i can just drop the pallet and force em to lose bloodlust when he breaks it, then its off to the next pallet.

what seems extremely obvious to me, a survivor main, is that survivors raged and review bombed after the last patch, and the devs solution was to cave to one of the items on the survivor main checklist on the road to starting the match with the gates open. press 3 to twerk at the exit gate.

the point of bloodlust, was that the devs say the map assets need to be fixed to prevent looping, yet i see no map fixes in the notes, just a nerf that will cause even more “being safe in front of the killer.”

This is what happens when devs arrogantly assume that they know the gameplay better than the players, and make decisions based on their own rank 15ish experience. The obvious solution is to have a small group of the most experienced players (not streamers), on both sides, review your potential decisions. The near universal opinion of your veteran players, was that the last patch was the first step in the right direction in a long time... only for you to then immediately sabotage yourselves by caving to a tiny 500ish player review bomb. Well, since it worked, next time they will bomb you much harder.

We have seen that when Cote played the game as hag he did not know the gameplay better than us. It really frustrates me that people think they can develop a game without playing it for themselves in the real environment with real players. A couple hours a night for a week will show you all the problems with this game.

They build this game around the casual level. The only problems occur when people actually try hard, the game never was built for this

@DeadByFlashlight Sad truth my friend! ;)

Additionally I find it funny how you think a survivor should be able to 1 versus 1 a killer in a asymmetrical horror game. I think you want a easy win with No actual threat from the killer since survivors are OP currently.

    A couple of things.

    • I consider myself a killer main. Probably 10% of my playtime is as a survivor.

    • This game is much closer to being balanced than most people give it credit for.

    • For the last time, survivors are not equal in power to the killer. They certainly aren't OP.

A survivor can still loop you for a good while with some loops and if the survivor has certain perks such as DH, Adrenaline, and DS... You gonna be spending a lot of time catching that survivor. Let's say other survivors come in with flashlights, sabo squads, and etc. You'll never get that survivor to a hook, in fact that survivor just destroyed you when you're supposed to destroy the survivor. See the problem now, a survivor can 1v1 a killer when that shouldn't be a thing! Now I don't want a survivor to have no hope, I just don't like how much power a survivor has currently because I can easily run a killer for 5 generators which right there proves that a survivor is actually in equal strength to a killer, if not even stronger. Have you yet to face a sweaty SWF where every survivor is a God?

A survivor can loop YOU for a good while, Nickenzie.

DH and DS can be played around.

A group with flashlights usually play right into a killers hands, just outplay them.

Sweaty SWF's groups are so rare it's irrelevant.

Most SWF's are just friends wanting to fvck around and have fun.

The game has problems, but nothing like what killers on forums would have you believe, just because they get wrecked from time to time.

I don't get looped for a while and I'm actually pretty decent at killer, no need to insult me behind the safety from your computer screen because your adding on to the toxic problem.

"DH and DS can be played around."

DH is mostly used incorrectly by most survivors but when it is used correctly, Lord it's great perk but I'm okay with it being like this - It requires skill to use.

Lol, you are defending DS? Ok, I don't need to say much about that comment.

"A group with flashlights usually play right into a killers hands, just outplay them."

I can usually bait survivors to come out of their positions or face a wall but sometimes you don't down a survivor near a wall and sometimes you can't bait them. Again, rank 1 survivors play almost flawless and they know their stuff!

"Sweaty SWF's groups are so rare it's irrelevant.
Most SWF's are just friends wanting to fvck around and have fun."

Just because it's rare doesn't mean it's not a problem. 4 Survivors working together should bring the game to a 50/50 but since survivors are kinda OP, it's more like 50/200. I agree with you on the second sentence, I often play with my friends to have fun and relax.

Okay, I'm not insulting you and this is all we got...we're on a forum, behind our monitors, genius. What do you want me to do? Don't twist this into me "being toxic" because I disagree with you and your silly ramblings.

At no point did I defend DS. Now you're just putting words in my mouth. It can be played around.

Rank 1 survivors do not play, "mostly flawless". Seriously? There's differing skill across ALL ranks. Get a grip.

If you can't play around flashlights with the new pick up times, you're just not good. Simple. Which is fine, just don't complain about something you can avoid or outplay.

You keep bringing up these numbers, like they mean anything. 50/200? Just stop :/

"A survivor can loop YOU for a good while, Nickenzie."

That statement is implying that I'm bad in general, I'm not bad. Don't assume that I'm bad, or in fact anyone for that matter... It's just rude. Thank you. :)

    "
At no point did I defend DS. "

    DS can be played around.

DS has little counter play, especially when you're not warned about it. You saying that DS has a counter play is you indirectly defending it, the perk is way too strong and needs to get toned down.

"Rank 1 survivors do not play, "mostly flawless". Seriously? There's differing skill across ALL ranks. Get a grip."

Do you play killer at rank 1, not trying to sound rude but any person would say rank 1 is just insane and survivors are extremely good, not saying every survivor is but majority are. Isn't that the reason why killers use Ruin because rank 1 survivors can keep a killer running for a while?

    "
If you can't play around flashlights with the new pick up times, you're just not good."

I'll leave my quote here since you didn't read it and just ignored it instead. It's in bold for you my fellow fog traveler! :)

Do you really want me to tell why they are so important? It's a yes or no question.
  • One player being chased while three others work on generators is not considered teamwork?
What is the goal here? Are four survivors supposed to participate in a chase to win? What is the interaction you envision? Because it sounds like you are describing F13.
Furthermore, every swarm tactic that survivors can use are considered insufferable by killers, so how is encouraging it going to improve the game experience?
How do you propose to handle the snowball effect? Three-survivor games are already considered to be a severe disadvantage, so how is a 4-times-stronger-than-now killer supposed to be balanced once the game goes on?
"One player being chased while three others work on generators."

That's the problem, a few loops allow 3 survivors to get 2 generators done. Imagining how many generators you will have left when you're on the 4th chase, assuming you didn't have to tunnel and was playing fair. Additionally I'll add on, I don't see a lot of teamwork in doing generators because you're just holding a button for 80 seconds, teamwork at it's finest! I suggest to make it harder to work as a team because doing generators = Instant teamwork. Survivors need to do more than just generators to have teamwork in my opinion.

    "What is the goal here?"

A survivor 25% of your objective shouldn't allow the killer's to lose 40% of their objective without no control, don't forget that they have 3 phases so you'll need to chase them two more times assuming you tunnel and if you don't, you'll have to start over! So, the goal is if the killer is 400% stronger than a single survivor, chases would end quicker and survivors would need to do more saving "Teamwork" to keep everyone alive so they can keep doing generators "Teamwork". See where I'm going?

"How do you propose to handle the snowball effect?"

Again, my idea isn't perfect... it's like the emblem system! It'll stay on the PTB and it will get tweaked over time to help balance that!

"4-times-stronger-than-now killer supposed to be balanced once the game goes on?"

Each survivor gets a 33% action boost with 5 generators since you're slitting the power equally to every survivor. In other words, you're given a bonus to account for the loss.

  • @Nickenzie

However my point still stands, currently one survivor is 100% the strength of the killer and the problem is 1 killer (100% Power) vs 4 survivors (400% Power)... Does this help out with my point? It should be 1 killer (100% Power) vs 4 survivors (100% Power) since when all 4 survivors work together, they will be able to have a equal chance to win! :)

Would you please stop making this assertion? I'm sorry that survivors have so deeply scarred your psyche. I don't know where they touched you or what they said to you. But no matter how many times you repeat yourself, it won't make this statement true. Just because you don't get 4 kills every game doesn't mean the game is broken.

Rank 1 Killer is fine. People wanna play scummy, I'll just play scummy back. No big deal. But I can't take the BS in Rank 1 survivor games anymore.

Also, I don't want to wait until rank reset. I'd actually like to play.

Rank isn't the problem, the punishment system is the problem if they are ruining your game by being scummy such as sandbagging.
  • I thought corn vision was bad, but this bamboo makes me want to ***** ********** my ***********

its in 90% of the map and is too excessive if ya ask me
You forgot how laggy the new map is! ;)
  • Putting every survivor to sleep isn't hard right now with the right add-ons. It's certainly not hard enough to warrant a free Exposed, and that's considering that people can self-care wake themselves right now. Nobody should have trouble putting 4 survivors to sleep with these changes.

30 seconds would be too short, 4 minutes is fine. The bonus from getting all 4 asleep is more than enough. Especially considering you can't actually do anything about being asleep any more.

And how would hook recuses work? Do the sleeping survivors teleport to the hook?
I'm gonna explain how waking up works in my version, I think you're confused! :)

The moment that you enter the Dream Realm, you'll make a copy of yourself sleeping on the floor that only Freddy and awake survivors can see. The copy will be placed at wherever you entered the Dream Realm at! Now if a awake survivor finds your sleeping body then they can perform the wake up action, if they successfully complete the action. You'll be teleported to your copy and the original "Dream Realm" version of you will be deleted, you are now back in the Real World! However the awake survivor can't perform the wake up action if you are having a nightmare (See number 5)!

Getting hooked doesn't wake you up, only a awake survivor or the timer expiring can wake you up! :)

Now what if I told you that most people don't enjoy playing stealth, because they find it uneventful and boring? What do you tell them? "Too bad, play stealthy or get out" ? Yeah, good way to kill the game.

Teamwork beats Nurse? Yeah, nice meme. Even a 4 SWF who are experienced and who do teamwork won't beat a God Nurse, especially with 3+ blinks.

Then the SWF are just not working together as a team! You can't just do your own thing in asymmetrical game, you have to work together which is how the minor roles overwhelm the power role. I can keep proving this with justification and reasoning all day but I don't have a lot of time right lol.

I never said that survivors can "do their own thing". Yes, they very much have to do some teamwork, but against a Good Nurse? No, that teamwork is thrown out of the window and stop trying to justify Nurse, she's broken and everyone knows it.

Lol, nurse is balanced in my opinion because she's the reason why Dead by Daylight is called a asymmetrical horror game! She awards skill to the killer and she is the ONLY killer that needs good teamwork to overwhelm her! Also I'll add on, I never said that you said, "survivors can do their own thing" I was saying that you can't mess around with Nurse, you need pure 100% teamwork to overwhelm her - That's why she is balanced because survivors actually need to work together while you don't need to with different killers!

Lots of people like to use Tunneling/Camping as an excuse to bash someone playing killer who has killed them. Most of the time, it's not justified. They're just whining. However, in VERY few cases, Tunneling/Camping does exist. It's important to know the difference.

    Whiny:
-Tunneling: The killer chased and hit me at any given time.
-Camping: The killer didn't go afk on the opposite side of the map after hooking me.

    Actual:
-Tunneling: When a killer specifically walks around and avoids another survivor just to re-down the recently unhooked person.
-Camping: When the hooked survivor is still killer's base terror radius while the killer is not tracking or chasing another survivor.

Should be fun to read the salt on this later...

So you cant camp with insidious?

Tunneling is a made up term, just like tunneling gens is made up

Ooo, now I can meme with LF without getting called a camper! :)

The exposed effect is too much unless you rework all his add-ons and don't allow him to have aura reading period. Remember, you're giving him a 40% bonus to attacks and action speed. That's a full 8 tokens on STBFL that stacks with STBFL and can't be lost. I think his reward for sleeping everyone is in the bonus you gave him.

Also, how does this interact with hooks? Does he have to pick them up where there sleeping?

Freddy will only get a 40% STBFL if he sleeps every survivor which isn't easy assuming he has to walk to every survivor. However if every survivor was together than that is problematic but then again Freddy needs to sleep every survivor within 4 minutes before the earliest survivor wakes up. To be honest, it's difficult to sleep every survivor and the only time that the exposed status effect is a problem is when survivors are in groups. However I wouldn't mind change the time that you are slept by 30 seconds! :)

Freddy will need to down the survivor in the Dream Realm, Freddy can see where the survivor fell asleep at in the Real World but can't pick the body up since that body is not in the Dream Realm but the survivors physical dream form is! :)

@Nickenzie I agree with you that power needs to shift more in favor of the Killer. Absolutely no debate from me on that one.

But the devs need to be extremely careful in how far they shift it, or all the issues I mentioned will become a problem. Personally, I think a decent first step is to make Killer power not so add-on reliant. Take the shifts in small steps, parse the data, and keep going from there.

I agree, there needs to be small changes at a time to bring a survivor down a little in power level since when a SWF has great teamwork.... The killer can only do so much since his power is 100% and 4 survivors working together is 400%.

@Nickenzie I may be wrong, but reading this thread and replies, it seems like Survivors are too powerful at the higher (Red) Ranks. The problem is, if you make each Survivor one-quarter of a Killer and require heavy teamwork due to the higher ranks, you run the very real risk of alienating the lower ranked players, which leads to frustration and them leaving the game since there are unlimited gaming options out there.

The Meta-Perks and Meta-Builds are going to play a lot differently at the High ranks than they do at the lower and average ranks (where a majority of the player base should hover). It doesn't matter the game. A Reinhardt, Tracer, Genji, Ana, et cetera in Overwatch plays a lot differently at Master and Grandmaster than they do in Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Plat. Blizzard balances around the High ranks because of the Pros in the Overwatch League. Matter of fact, they take more feedback from the OWL Pros than they should. And it has completely unbalanced the game for a majority of the player base. That is a Blizzard game. Blizzard, called the Disney of the video game industry by investors because they are so huge and untouchable. And yet, check this out: Just as school was ready to start and the natural school-year attrition was about to happen, they ran OW at 50% for two weeks. A week after that, they dropped it into the October $12/mo Humble Bundle subscription.

Overwatch, that Blizzard juggernaut, by all appearances is bleeding players. And the biggest stated reason is: Balancing around high-level play, unbalancing the game for the majority, and failure to listen.

Heavy teamwork games work at the High levels and the Pro levels. But for a majority, they lead to piss-poor matches, frustration, toxicity, and people finally leaving the game. Because low and mid tier players very rarely get actual matches where the teamwork happens.

On paper, the argument is always made that it'll balance out between those teams that don't work together and those that do. In reality, that is never the case. Not in OW, Paladins, HoTS, LoL, or any of those games.

In DBD, the issue is even more pronounced, because then those low to mid tier Survivor players just have more reason to go Killer, which doesn't rely on the teamwork issue. Which creates more issues for DBD lobbies. Because in all those other games, you simply need a straight 10-12 players to queue for a match. In DBD, you need 4x as many players queuing for Survivor than you have queuing for Killer.

That's what I wanna hear, thanks for the kind feedback! I wasn't talking about a single survivor versus a killer with a single survivor needing to do two generators, I'm looking at this from a single survivor in a chase with the killer. The killer should be stronger than the survivor but however "Currently one survivor is as strong as the killer which goes against what a asymmetrical game is!" -That's the point I'm trying to make.

However, I'm okay with a survivor being 35-25% of the killer's strength since lower survivor ranks won't struggle as much. :)

@Nickenzie said: That's why I want built-in voice comms in Dead by Daylight. It solve your problem instantly because survivors will now be able to work together and have a fair chance to overwhelm the power role.

You really are missing points. Please read the entire replies

I already covered that. Here it is again, in an excerpt from my reply:

    @Kilmeran said:
It simply falls apart. Even with Voice Chat in those other games (Overwatch and Paladins) it doesn't work because a majority of the time, random people don't want to talk and coordinate with random people. And then you get the toxicity of those who expect you to play their way, their tactics, and running the Perks (or hero for the role in those games) of their preference. Or all holy hell breaks loose in the match. Especially when a single bad teammate can cost you the entire match.

Overwatch and Paladins have voice comm built in and it still doesn't work as far as coordinating random people into a cohesive team for the exact reason I pointed out: A majority still will not use the voice comm with other random people. It's already been shown and proven in those games. I know. I played them for a couple of years.

So, I'm still against the proposal. I've been there and done that with heavy teamwork reliant games, with integrated voice comm included, and it's the reason I'm here in Dead by Daylight instead of still playing Overwatch, Paladins, or Heroes of the Storm. Because: they, do not work out.

Teamwork heavy games have a whole new set of problems. You're simply trading one cluster of problems for another cluster.

The truth is, asymmetrical games will never have that balance. Evolve had issues. Deceit has issues. Deathgarden has issues. DBD has issues. They all have the same issues. Making them teamwork heavy just brings in the issues that all the other teamwork heavy games have when played by random people tossed into a team via a queue system (even with voice comm).

You should go check out those forums to get a better idea of how those player bases feel about the teamwork heavy components.

I did read your reply but I would rather have voice comms than not have voice comms in a teamwork game. Just because it won't 100% solve the issue with teamwork doesn't mean it's not gonna help the bigger problem. Voice comms will help out, that's all I'm saying and Dead by Daylight will actually be more competitive game! Yes, you have a point with not everyone is gonna use voice comms but it goes both ways, there will be people who will wanna use voice comms.

Yeah, but like I said, only two people (that I saw) actually proposed an activate-able BoP. I can't know if you have those suggestions in mind when you comment unless you say so.

Umm, wow rude... can you quote my OP from where I said that at please because if I remember correctly I said "One survivor being equal in strength to a killer is a PROBLEM".

Additionally you should drop the attitude because it's not needed here. Thanks! :)

Sure, I'll quote you: "however currently one survivor is as strong as the killer which goes against what a asymmetrical game is!" This is the entire foundation of your argument which is absolutely absurd. One survivor is nothing. A single survivor has virtually 0 chance of making it out if they have to work on generators. Even when you have 2 survivors and generators need to be finished, it typically turns into a game of find the hatch and hope the other guy dies first.

Oh, I see where you are coming from now, took me a second but I'm talking about a chase. A survivor can run a killer for a while, while the other survivors do generators. The single survivor shouldn't be able to do that to a killer because the killer is supposed to be four times as strong than that survivor, that's the point I'm making. Sorry if worded my thread oddly :p
  • Kilmeran said:

@Nickenzie said: I don't understand, I said in my thread that a survivor being as strong as the killer is not okay! What's the problem in that statement? Here's my quote from the thread and I'll highlight that a minor role being as strong as the power role is not how a asymmetrical game should work:
"Currently one survivor is as strong as the killer which goes against what a asymmetrical game is!" Why did I say "Which goes against what a asymmetrical horror game is"? That is because survivors are supposed to work together to overwhelm the killer, a single survivor (Minor Role) shouldn't be able to overwhelm the killer (Power Role) in a asymmetrical horror game. Did I clear up any confusion? @Kilmeran

Because, again, you are focusing on something different than the point he replied to. It doesn't matter that you said: "Currently one survivor is as strong as the killer which goes against what a asymmetrical game is!" But that you even stated: "Currently one survivor is as strong as the killer . . . "

Period, that point right there is what he replied about. His reply meant that you are wrong and that currently one survivor is NOT as strong as the killer. He was replying that that assessment, period, was wrong about Dead by Daylight. It doesn't exist. No survivor is currently as strong as the killer.

Have you been in high ranks? Survivors can easily dominate a killer by themselves in a 1v4 game because survivors, let me word this better, "Are stronger or as strong as the killer". If that isn't enough to convince you that survivors are way too overpowered then I don't know how to explain it better to you, sorry.
  • Kilmeran said:

@Nickenzie said: Survivors won't be weak if they work together, that's the point of a asymmetrical game. Survivors need to work together to overwhelm the killer, that's called teamwork and that's how a survivor should be able to have a fair chance against a killer including nurse. When you see high nurse gameplay, you'll see survivors getting absolutely destroyed because survivors aren't used to working together which was how the game was designed. Survivors are so used to being as strong as the killer that when they face a nurse that requires them to work together, the survivor team falls apart because they aren't used to working together. The power role will overwhelm the minior roles because again, teamwork is necessary to overwhelm the power role. No teamwork, you'll lose. Period.

And now I'll reply to the actual topic at hand. I'll be blunt. Not no, but hell no.

Have you ever played a heavy teamwork reliant game? I have. I spent 2+ years in Overwatch since launch, and time in Paladins, as well. And let me tell you: Unless you have a stack of friends that can queue up with you and make a full-team, or you're an Esport team that regularly plays and practices together, a heavy teamwork game absolutely will not work once it includes a team of random players queuing on their own.

What you propose always looks great on paper, but never plays out when random teams are involved.

That's why I want built-in voice comms in Dead by Daylight. It solve your problem instantly because survivors will now be able to work together and have a fair chance to overwhelm the power role.

@Nickenzie said: Additionally, if he continued reading my thread, he would have seen that I disagreed with this idea if survivors being as strong as a killer.

You're misunderstanding his reply completely. You stated that currently one survivor is equal to the killer. I pointed out where. He replied, in his own way, that you were wrong in stating that currently one survivor is equal to the killer.

Whether or not a survivor should be or not is irrelevant to his reply. Whether or not you later stated that you disagreed with the idea is irrelevant to the reply.

You clearly and blatantly stated that as of right now, a single survivor is equal to the killer in Dead by Daylight. To which he replied that you were wrong. A single killer is not currently equal to the killer. He called your entire power assessment inaccurate.

I don't understand, I said in my thread that a survivor being as strong as the killer is not okay! What's the problem in that statement? Here's my quote from the thread and I'll highlight that a minor role being as strong as the power role is not how a asymmetrical game should work:

So, I think I have enough evidence and experience to voice my opinion about what's wrong with the game. Before I start, I'm gonna say how many hours I have which is something I usually don't say because it really doesn't matter but I'm going to anyways to show you that I know what I'm talking about! :)

MY DBD HOURS: Roughly 600 Hours

    Problem: In Spoiler
    (What's Dead by Daylight?)
    (Spoiler)

Solution: (Make killers four times as strong than a single survivor & give survivors more stealth opinions)
    (Spoiler)

I've never seen a game won on survivor side that was 1v3 where the killer didn't just meme and let them win. You can't balance the game around 1 vs 4 in terms of power you have to balance it on terms of mistakes and that's what survivors need is more opportunities to make mistakes, they need to fix skillchecks to have random inputs instead of just space and they need to put more skillchecks into the game. Plus stealth is boring for both killer and survivor, killers don't like having to check around every corner and every locker and being a crab person is not ideal for survivors.

Survivors won't be weak if they work together, that's the point of a asymmetrical game. Survivors need to work together to overwhelm the killer, that's called teamwork and that's how a survivor should be able to have a fair chance against a killer including nurse. @Nickenzie To fair, you did say that currently one survivor is as strong as a killer. For some reason, I can't grab a post-quote from your spoilers, but at the end of the first paragraph in the first spoiler, you wrote: however currently one survivor is as strong as the killer which goes against what a asymmetrical game is!

@Dreamnomad strongly disagreed with your assessment, and stated his feelings if you actually believe one survivor is as strong as a killer.

    You then replied:

@Nickenzie said: can you quote my OP from where I said that at please because if I remember correctly I said "One survivor being equal in strength to a killer is a PROBLEM".

Then you remembered only partially. Because while your entire post says why it's a problem, you did, indeed, state that currently one survivor is as strong as the killer.

Yeah, that's the main idea of my thread. Dead by Daylight should be a asymmetrical horror but right now it isn't one, sadly. A survivor shouldn't be as strong as a killer - That's the problem because survivors are right now when it shouldn't. Additionally, if he continued reading my thread, he would have seen that I disagreed with this idea of survivors being as strong as a killer.

Its so emberassing and shows how little you understand about the game if you show us 4k match results with spirit. It's not hard to get a 4k. You can get it with a perkless Freddy eventually. It doesn't say anything about the spirit's balance because survviors can just be bad. Your screenshots are not "proof" at all. Your spirit is level 36 as well, so you don't have much experience with her either.

Sure, I 4k'ed a lot of times when she came out but now that survivors learn to counter her she is garbage. And I'd put her above Wraith and under Clown. So bottom mid tier. And, unlike you, I played her for 25 hours and P3'd her with all perks already with playing her exclusively at rank 1.

Now she is at lvl 50 xd
For me she's not really that bad

Play her more and you'll see if you face good survivors.

I think she's mid tier in my opinion but she does have potential to get a 4k! However this would require the survivors to make mistakes after mistake which I think shouldn't be the case with any killer.

To each their own, I suppose... I don't even struggle when the Killer has put everyone in the dying state. He deserves the win at that point, and I really don't want to stick around for 4 minutes.

  • An idea I'd like to propose as a change to Thanatophobia is as follows:

    Thanatophobia
Your prey know your power and become more inefficient through fear each time you catch them.

    • As long as someone is injured, dying, or hooked, each individual time a survivor is hooked, that survivor receives a stackable 5/7/9% reduction to action speed in Cleansing, Generator Repair, Healing, Opening Exit Gates, Searching, and Vaulting.

It's a rework that incentivizes injuring and hooking different survivors multiple times rather than camping to death on one hook. Thanatophobia seems underwhelming and underdeveloped as it stand now after having the "dead" survivor removed from the penalty recognizer.

This should be built-in to the game and not be a perk so every killer would have a incentive to go after more survivors! :-1:

    Great idea!
  • Temori said:

You already get punished for safe unhooks - it gives you minus points at emblembs.

I can still pip without benevolence points and that's the problem, it's not enough! I can farm every survivor and the system would just say "No benevolence points for you!" And I'm like, "Ha jokes on you, I got iridescent on Lightbringer, Unbroken, & Evader! What are you gonna do?"

I wanna see this mechanic get added but I would tweak it just a little:

-Unhooking a survivor within 12 meters from the killer will give you the exposed status effect for 10 seconds.
-You won't get a warned about you having this status effect until after you are put into dying state.
-The notification will say this when you are put into dying state so you'll know why you was insta downed: "Exposed" -Farming
-If you are put into dying state or the unhooked survivor is put into dying state within 10 seconds from the unhook, you'll lose benevolence.

That's all because the developers are trying to reward farming by giving survivors more jail free cards for playing poorly, they need to discourage it and punish the unhooker!

    4 man exposed effect:

I think this is a bit much xD especially since its harder to wake back up without skill checks. Like wow this is powerful poor micky comes no where close to freddy.

Hmm, will you be okay if a survivor suffers from the broken status effect?
  • Global said:

I do like these changes but I have some feedback

    Fatigue:
if all survivors are in the dream can they still do gens etc while having the fatigue debuff? because if they cant wake up they will just have to walk around for 4 minutes which might be a bit boring. Plus survivors have a extreme debuff to all action speeds. I think they should still be able to do things just not wake back up from skill checks.

    4 man exposed effect:
I think this is a bit much xD especially since its harder to wake back up without skill checks. Like wow this is powerful poor micky comes no where close to freddy.

Past those 2 i would like these changes. Nice job ;)

    Zanfer said:

so you won't be able to unhook people in the fatigue status?

The fatigue status effect would only last for the Dream transition and will go away when you are in the Dream Realm! :)

Sorry, I'll clarify that in my OP!
  • Hello all, we know all know about how terribly unbalanced this game is and how BHVR desperately needs someone to point them in the right direction, it just so happens that I find myself to be the right person.

I thought of some good ideas that might help the game flourish into what it aspires to be.

    - Start every match with ALL survivors injured and separated into far corners of the map.
    - Remove Wiggle Meter
    - Buff Killer Speed to 150%
    - Infinite Tier 3 NOED
    - Hooks spawned side by side
    - 1 pallet per map and survivor.
    - Every survivor owns 1 pallet, if a survivor is in ownership of the pallet then another survivor can’t throw it down
    .

I will tweet @Not_Queen these suggestions so it will get more recognization.

Wow, this is the most perfect buff ever! Man, why couldn't I have thought about this amazing buff? @PinkEricka you should become a BHVR developer! ;)
  • You’re not good. I’m rank 5 killer main too so don’t give me that salty survivor bs. You know it, I know it, everybody knows it 😄
There are always reasons to camp/Hard Patrol:
1.) A survivor is close to the hook
    2.) Exit gates are open
    3.) Survivors swarm the hook

However, if you was actually rank 5 then you would already know tho. Just saying my fellow killer brother.
  • Orion said:

    @Nickenzie said:
Make farming reduce all categories current BP by 25% and make WGLF only give stacks when it's a safe unhook. That will be enough for the unhooker to think twice before attempting to make a poor play.

I prefer to just give the unhooker the Exposed status, if they're hook farming. Killers will, hopefully, deal with it themselves.

This can work as well because I just don't see why killers are getting punished for the survivor's mistake. However how would this work tho? Would you get a invisible exposed status effect that you couldn't see when you successfully unhook a survivor and the killer is within X meters away from the hook?

If @Orion's idea was implemented then I would be 100% okay with the i-frames since now the unhooker is getting punished for the poor play - not the killer!
