I'm having a blast on Nurse. I can slaughter them all now that they can't get 3 health states with DH.
I also ran a Thana + Deadlock + Corrupt + DMS Legion with Sleeping Pills and the 4+ mending time addon. I think I broke their spirit the moment they noticed what was happening. It was great. But felt dirty, so I ditched it.

very weird tbh. I feel like I am playing against toddlers 😂 Survivors need to get used to not having DH but .. somehow i feel like a Lion in a sheep barn
For real, I see all these P9 players go down instantly when I chase them. It's like they play like they have old DH, and now they're getting punished for their greedy moves.

Yeah sounds like a bug man. I'm glad stealth killers are finally gonna be playable though. Also hopefully people don't recognize this and nobody runs Spine Chill before it gets fixed.

I wasn´t disregarding but you said "I think we can safely add 20 seconds to each hook stage and remove hook grabs." which is absolutely insane.
You do that and the game is done for. No more Killers. It´s an insult to anyone who plays the game as Killer, now, if you play against
foolsSurvivors Enjoying the Solo Queue Experience that´s a separate story. You may haven them in P3 or not. I could have P3 all my characters many times, never did. Reason? IT WAS STUPID TO DO SO AND LOSE EVERYTHING. So never did. So in your case, we don´t know if you actually play Killer or you farm with Survivors.
That´s what I do, all my Survivors are fed with bloodpoints from Killer games. And I am not a "Survivor main".
I guess you're right, but survivor mains tend to have lots of killer barely leveled at all, or sitting at level 50 or something. Either way I guess you just have to take my word for it. I've been fuming about Dead Hard for the past 3 months on here and am so happy to finally be able to ######### play M1 killers without getting robbed every single chase. I'm also very happy with no DS endgame, that was bullshit too.
Either way, I know it's a kneejerk reaction, the ultimate truth is we have to see what happens, in low mmr games, mid mmr games and high mmr games. I think everything below high MMR is gonna be a nightmare cause the majority of the playerbase are casuals who can't run the killer properly, and will never learn to do so.
Also, maybe you should have said what you felt in the first place instead of just saying "survivor main".

can you pls tell me the difference between 9 and 10 prestige?
For me it was 1 bloodweb level, since my killers were already at P3L50. With BBQ on all of them. Important detail.
Anyway, prestige doesn't actually give you anything other than a new prestige icon after level 9. You get it by finishing Level 50, then buying the 20k "Prestige node" and then you start at level 1 again. I've been unlocking some general perks on the remaining killers after the update so I've leveled a few of them to P10.

LOL so what? You can do that paying blood points what´s your point?
Also how good where your Survivors like?
I managed to get them to rush P3L1 on all of them from level 40 except the one I actually play in the last 2 months after they announced the prestige reworks, so they're also all P9.
At the end of the day you can always just disregard anything anyone every says by labeling them as a "killer main" or "survivor main" but that doesn't mean what they're saying is wrong. I actually play both sides, although it's 90% killer.
I'm very, very curious to see how the playerbase develops over the next few months. Look, I'm having a blast cause it's so easy, but I think the average killer won't just let people go, spread hooks and play nice when they're clearly meeting someone newer. I think we're about to lose a lot of casual players.

Nope.
Maybe it's the evening queues being super ez and feeding me new survivors on top of it but this is stupid.

Tunneling has changed. It's no longer about instadowns, chainsaws, or preventing unhooks. It's an endless series of off-the-hook tunneling, fought by every killer in the game.
Tunneling -- and it's consumption of survivor life has become a well-oiled machine.
-
@GannTM said:
It’s easy to tunnel someone out with most killers, not just Nurse.
True that. If we increased time on hook and removed hook grabs that would be a very sensible start.
Hell I'd be okay with the hooked survivor being allowed to spectate their teammates as long as no survivor is within 16m of the hook. Why not? They want to bridge the gap between SWF and solo queue, and this would make it less boring to be on hook too.
-
@Adeloo said:
Yes it seems to be mixed up but do you get extra BP from playing killer while the incentive is on survivor ?
Just played a match and no, you don't. Yeah they messed it up it seems.
-
Yeah I agree. Like mentioned, it closes automatically now which is good, but it's still completely unnecessary. Sometimes it glitches and skips it completely, it's so fast and smooth when it does.
Now that the Bloodweb Level is displayed right above the bloodweb, just make that text flash red when you level up, and skip the level up prompt entirely.
Bonus points if you let us double the purchase speed/skip the purchase animation completely, and skip mystery box prompts.
-
If you want to know why you're wrong, here's why.
First, stop overcomplicating 1-50 and measure average BP cost instead. I tracked BP costs on 10 survivors or so from level 1 to level 50, and the cost averaged 1400k. But this was with neglecting perks to rush them to P3. With perks, I've found it costs around 1450k to go from L1 to L50 while getting all perks.
Like you showed, it costs 51k avg for a L50 web. That's 25500 BP per perk tier.
To get all perks on one character, it costs 1450 to get to 50, then you still need 229 perk tiers, which is 25500*229. This is being generous since the last few levels cost a lot. About 7.29m.
With the new system, your grind ends omce you have P3 on every killer. Obviously, you should prestige every killer to P1, to ensure you don't lose perk tiers while leveling.
But the absolute worst case is P3 all killers. And that will cost 1521k pet killer, since you now have to go through a bloodweb at 50 + 20k for a prestige. 4.56m per killer.
That's 38% less BP as it stands now. But the new system will become better the more characters are added. How about 32 killers instead of 28?
Ca 8.2m per killer with the old system. 4.56m with the new.
36 killers? 9.12m old, 4.56 new.
Now we will get increased BP caps and role bonuses as well. This also means that BP offerings now give back more than before, especially if you run BP boosting perks to max out categories. Notable exceptions are sacrifice and brutality, most killers can't max these. But plenty of killers can easily max chase and deviousness with distressing + beast of prey.
For survivor, WGLF stacks are far, far less reliable than role queue bonuses, and I'd bet money on that the average survivor will make quite a lot more BP after the update.

Feel bad for all the people who specifically went out of their way to do the grind this patch was going to alleviate and got everyone to P3 so they'd have all the T3 Perks for everyone.

It was during anniversary so it wasn't so bad. I was going for the unique reward from the beginning.

Devs say that if BEFORE new patch you are P1,2 or 3. You will earn 2 extra P.
So if you are p1 you will be p3 will all perk unlocked.
P2 to p6 and p3 to p9 with the propper rewards.
It also matters the amound un perks you have unlocked in your character for extra P.
I think its cap at P11, then you can raise your P to infinity and beyond.
Capped at 9.
OP if you have any characters with few perks close to 50, get them to P1. Then you'll get to P3 through catchup.
If they have like 3+ pages of tier 3 perks (120 perk tiers) you can just wait and you'll get to P2 through catchup.

I don't care who I see in lobby.

Every player in the game is p3 including all universal perks. I've done the math and I've completed over 97.5 percent of the grind to get everyone p3 all perks. This update will get everyone to p6 all perks.
If this update never happened I would still be able to get everyone to p3 all perks by the next chapter.
Actually you'll get P9, it's 2 levels per prestige now. So enjoy your meme charms.
-
You can't get the red background without prestiging. I just prestiged from the moment I started playing since I'm a completionist so I never faced this dilemma.
If it makes you feel any better think about this: In a few years there will be lots of new killers and survivors without the red background even if you had them all now, making it look inconsistent and weird. Also, nobody else can see them.
And for the many-eth time, you will NOT lose anything automatically with the update! You keep everything you already have. The catchup mechanic won't take anything away from you.
-
Every character in the entire game P3.

Lunge at it and smash your face into it. It's about the same hit detection as hitting a wall.

What, you're telling me you're NOT planning on spending 150m BP on a single character as soon as the update drops?

Nah I don’t mind Lithers or BL users. Sprint Burst is stronger because you don’t need to do anything other than have it ready.
Yeah same, but since SB isn't as easy to use we'll probably see more varied exhaustion perks across the board. I'm looking forward to that. Maybe some Overcome, too.

Make Nurses basic attack a special attack.
Make Nurses blinks 20% shorter by default.
Remove her ability to blink through walls.
Remove all her addons.
Remove 1 blink charge.
Let her instantly kill any survivor she downs.
Balanced.

Because it just means that we will see more SB players which I despise more.
Also more Balanced Landing and Lithe players. The average survivor can't 99 Sprintburst, but they can certainly DH for distance.

It really is sad. But it’s clear that BHVR doesn’t actually want to recude the grind. These changes are really just a bait-and-switch to make people shut up about the grind.
Certainly reduces the grind for existing players.
Also OPs math was terrible and didn't take loads of obvious factors into account.
The biggest issue with the new system is getting all perks on one character. That will take longer, since spending 1.5m bp for a prestige to get Tier 1 perks for free is more expensive than getting to 40 then unlocking.
But getting all perks on all characters? Not even remotely close to how it was before. Far, far better. Also no more nonsense about prestige or no prestige.
Also, survivors will probably get far more BP overall with the queue bonus and increased caps. And though BBQ bonus is gone, plenty of killers can max out 2 or even 3 categories and really take huge advantage of BP offerings now.
It's good. You'll see.

Now every p1 will become a p3 aka the important prestiege for gameplay. I would recommending p1ing as man as you can before the update.
Pretty much, unless you have 120 perk tiers or so. Simple and straightforward. Cause if you have 120 perk tiers, you get P2, then you can P3 immediately after from P2L50.

Got P3 on everyone. P3L1 on all survs except main, P3L50 on all killers. With BBQ 3 of course, which I guess doesn't matter after this update.

I've played both a decent amount but I like killer more honest. It's nice that there's so much variety in their playstyles, it's fun to learn a new power, and it's cool that there are so many unique builds that can work on a killer. Plus, it's not that stressful if you stop caring about kills and escapes and simply play for the chase.

Im so frustrated by the new update. I mostly play survivor so i think i just need 2 more people to prestige to lvl one before the update which is doable for me. But ive recently picked up playing some killer just unlocked all the teachables bar the dredge ones and taught them to pyramid head as id like to use him and now ill lose all those perks as i dont have any killer p1. So frustrating.
You're not going to lose any perks. I didnt mention it in my post but the prestige levels you get after the update drops won't remove any items addons or perks, and of course neither will prestiging after the update, since it is mandatory. That's the whole point of this prestige rework on top of giving Tier Perks based on prestige.
Either way, find out which killer has the perks you like most and try to get them to P1 before the update drops tomorrow, and you'll get all their perks P3 on everyone thanks to the catchup mechanic giving you 2 extra prestiges as long as you have P1.
-

Iirc kinda.
I read something on here like a character on P0 level 50 with a certain number of tier 3 perks would end up P2 level 1.
So they turn each perk and their tiers into a certain amount of progress and calculate with that the according prestige and set the character to level 1.
But i don't know if this is still the case or was ever correct.
That's not how it works. Read my post here if you want a clear overview: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3067409#Comment_3067409
-
Yeah.
-
I don't care much about it after they changed endurance stacking and disabled it in the endgame. It will replace DS + IW though. Fair enough I say. Equip STBFL if you notice survs stacking it and bodyblocking.
-
P3 will bump you right up to P9. You only need P3 after the update to get all perks tier 3.
So not only will you get all perks tier 3 on all characters, you'll also get their teachables in charm form, and the special background on the characters in character select.
-
So much conflicting bullshit this thread. Here's what prestige you'll get.
For every current prestige, you'll get TWO prestige levels. AKA:
P1 -> P3
P2 -> P6
P3 -> P9
P9 is the cap, and you cannot go above it, even with P3 + all perks.
If you haven't already reached P3 which puts you at the cap, you'll also gain prestiges based on how many perk tiers you have.
- 1 level for 70-119 Perks
- 2 levels for 120-169 Perks
- 3 levels for 170-219 Perks
- 4 levels for 220-269 Perks
- 5 levels for 270-319 Perks
- 6 levels for 320+ Perks
A full page of purple for example, is 45 perk tiers. Full page of green is 30.
Finally, you will keep your current level after the rework, so you could simply wait for your perk based level reward, and prestige right after the update.
SHORT ANSWER:
To answer your ultimate question: If you have a character you don't care about at level 50, whether you should prestige or not depends on their perk tiers. If they have 120 or more perk tiers, simply wait and you'll automatically get P2L50, then you can just level from P2L50 to P3L1 without losing anything.
The easiest solution is to prestige all characters you don't care about to P1L1. They'll get bumped right up to P3L1 after the update, and you'll get all their Tier 3 perks, no questions asked. But you'll of course lose you addons/perks/offerings on that character, if you have any you care about. This is what I'd recommend if you don't havemany perks on a character.
If you're sitting at Level 40 with no prestige, definitely go for P1L1, since you'd get literally nothing for them otherwise and its only about 400k BP.

There's the chance it gets delayed for another week because the prestige system is something they shouldn't wanna screw up. The prestige system also isn't something they can fix after the update goes live without reverting everyone's progress. Perks they can easily change afterward though. It's likely the biggest update they've done so I'm hoping they try to get as much right as they can before releasing it
Definitely. I personally think they should give prestiges not only based on your current Prestige level, but also for BP spent. Ditch the "amount of perks owned" requirement, and simply make it so you gain 1 extra prestige level per 2m BP spent. That would be fair to long term players with hundreds of millions of bloodpoints spent on a killer.
-
MONSTERS at high mmr.
But seriously, if we wanted to make them less frustrating, slow and boring to play, they'd only need to change 3 things:
- Victor standing idle can now be recalled when Charlotte is within 16m of him
- You can now swap to Charlotte immediately during Victors attack cooldown after downing a survivor
- Time to swap to Charlotte reduced to 2s from 3s
That would make her feel infinitely better to play. Being able to pick up Victor would also reduce camping by making her far less reliant on it. It's very inefficient and sometimes unrealistic to move around 2 separate characters on the map, so Twins camps a lot. If you could bring Victor with you, you wouldn't need to camp so much.

It will, in fact, by exactly 10% better, not ten times better.
People acting like Thanataphobia just magically appeared from nowhere and that Legion hasn't been running it for years.
Actually, a 20% reduction being increased to a 22% reduction is 2.56% better due to how percentage reduction works 🤓
-
It's because of the insane role differences depending on the time of day. Late evening all the casuals, or SWF only players come online, and the killers are outnumbered in queue something like 20/1. You'll be thrown into whatever lobby can fill you in. But since there's so many mediocre survivors, the killer games on average are quite easy.
If you're playing in the morning, there's a huge surplus of killers, something like twice as many killers as surivors queueing. So again, the matchmaker throws you in wherever it can. And most of the survs playing in the morning are tryhards, so the games are super hard for killer. Also instant survivor queues + easy games.

Bloody hell

I think what you mean is, they are monsters.

Please just make her crouch/uncrouch 0.5 and her charge 0.5s.
Just do it and see how she feels, please. That's all she needs. Crouched walking speed and a slight boost to ambush movespeed, and a buff to the fadeout on her terror radius would all be welcome. But they're not important.
The insane 1.3s crouch/uncrouch and sluggish 0.75s charge time just feel awful and do nothing but make her feel clunky.
Nerf her slowdown addons if you have to, just please make her feel better to play.

That's not correct. Live is 2.6s to break a pallet; PTB was 2.34s (i.e. 10% faster). PTB with BS is 1.87s. So .47s saved per pallet when using BS next patch.
Shouldn't it be 2.34 / 1.2= 1.95s?
2.34s is also 11% faster, since 10% reduction is the same as 11% faster, just like 50% reduction would be 100% faster.
