8 second stuns for picking up a survivor is exactly what this game needs.
Real talk, let's add Kindred to basekit. It's time.
-
Kindred base kit TODAY. I'm serious BTW, they're already shaking up the meta, they said they wanted to give solos more info, why the hell not? They could killswitch the perk and add it as basekit today if they wanted to, and simply see how it affects things. Do it! Now's a great time!
-
They stack just like you presumed.
I think Overcharged could safely be buffed to 100% - 250% honestly. The perk does nothing against good survivors who can hit the skillcheck.
Edit, just like sizlingmario presumed, I meant.
-
Honestly I wouldn't mind kindred basekit. But as long as the killer aura reading doesn't stack with Open Handed for everyone in the game for all hooks if only one guy has it.

I have given solo q years I dont need to judge it any longer.
That's fair. We'll see how these changes affect the playerbase and what new meta will emerge. I'm looking forward to it.

I knew these would show up eventually.
Well it's on the nose hilarious satirical comedy gold about how killers are pointing out that lots and lots of survs can't loop without DH.
But that fact is still true no matter how you twist it.
Windows of Opportunity and practice will be your new Dead Hard. Yeah, I'm serious. Get good.
Let's give it more than 1 day before we judge the entire patch.
-
Survs aren't predropping and can't greed and exhaust every pallet without DH. Keep your MMR high and you'll see that good teammates will come with time.
-
Yeah
-
If set A wins I'm uninstalling.
-
Any time a survivor didn't use DH or equip it, I'd think "If they had DH they'd make that pallet."
No more spinning into your face 2 times but you can't swing cause they might DH, then when you finally dare to swing at the injured survivor right in front of your face, they DH and you miss.
No more hiding red stain, catching a survivor off guard, but DH gets them to a resource.
No more faking and greeding the pallet at loops 3 times, messing it up, but not being punished because of DH.
God damn it feels good.

Congrats, that's quite an accomplishment. I used to 100% the challenges, but as I started playing less and less and playing other games, I began to skip many. It's been fun going back to finish them, mainly due to the ease of playing as The Killer.
Yeah I'm looking forward to doing Tome 12 in this wild new meta though. I think this patch will be fun.
-
I've finished every single challenge and achievement for both sides. I have bloody cosmetics for all characters. I have over 40000 confirmed kills and 4000 escapes.
-
Agreed. Now just buff the absolute worst killers and sensibly nerf the strongest ones.
-
Relentless bait.
-
MMR will readjust.
-
Nobody seemed to give a ######### when killers quit during boons+DH+snowmen ruining gameplay for half the roster.
And now you think WE will listen to THEM?
-
No god please no. NO. NO.
NOOOOOO

I like the changes to prestige but I'd like the BP bonus from BBQ and wglf back.
I heard the new BP bonus doubles everything you earn instead of just being added on top. So for example if you earn 30k + bring 100% booster you'll get 120k.

How are you exhausted, but running? Lol
Yeah, instead of what OP said we should make it so the Exhaustion status effect PREVENTS running!
-
That's just the beginning. Now that DH is gone we can safely buff Exhaustion to 30 seconds, as well as Vigil to 11/22/33% reduction.

Bond, Kindred, Inner Strength and Lithe. Again, what am I supposed to adjust on? Should I just adjust to the 20 hours megs i'm getting in my lobby when I have almost 6k hours?
Meme answer: Drop a discord link in every pregame lobby to a group call. Tell that 20 hour meg what to do. The big power move.
-
One thing about Overcome vs Sprint Burst is that if you get hit with Endurance it doesn't trigger Overcome. So Sprint Burst is a lot better right off the hook.
-
There is no noed charm cause it's a general perk but I get where you're coming from. If only the icon on the charms didn't look so blocky and lacking detail.
Would love to get general perks as charms too though. Maybe you could get them for every prestige beyond 9?
-
It's because of general perks dude. I'm buying them up on the killers I'm missing them on now.
-
@Marble_Index said:
Wait, we have to pay to prestige?! I thought I got 20K for doing it!
Man that would be nice. Way more motivating than having to pay when it used to be free.

Thana buff. Completely makes two already annoying killers more annoying and then the synergy with other gen regression perks is ridiculous. Gate powering deactivating perks. If the definition of tunneling is being targeted after being unhooked, why does an antitunnel perk suddenly not work anymore when the same condition applies? Oh, I forgot, devs are trying to help with kills.
No option to bleed out completely and go onto the next game. Devs have stopped survivors from holding up the game by making hook death instant if there is no possiblity of escape, even denying the chance of a last 4%. Also EGC has stopped hostage situations. All good changes, and yet survivors have to bleed out on the ground for 4 minutes if a killer decides not to hook. Yesterday, I watched a streamer go into youtube while he bled out two survivors on the ground because the possiblity of one of them 4%ing was apparently too much to stomach.
Hexy.
Survs should get a surrender option once all of them are hooked or downed. If they all surrender, they all get sacrificed. Simple and straightforward.
-
Everybody just yells and screams at each other. Nobody's civil anymore! Nobody thinks what it's like to be the other guy.
-
Fake, survivor mains are disallowed to play killer unless they have a daily.
-
Feels good to be done with the grind.
Too early to tell gameplay wise, but it feels damn good to not have to deal with DH anymore.

I do indeed love how this cycle repeats it's self
Killer comes out/ or gets buffed and not even a whole 24 hours later the forum is filled with salty survivor mains talking about "LeAvInG tHe gAmE" yeah leaving it until you press play the next day. Killers are the same though, I think people need to wait a week before they start making novel long posts on the forums a bout how bad the patch is. Chill
"After playing 2 games this update within 30 minutes of the release date, I've gathered a deep understanding of the flaws this update brings to the game. In this essay, I will.."

Absolutely! Survivors now need to learn how to loop without DH, back in my survivor days I never actually used that perk because it could just be waited out and didn't really work anyway so it's really good that they have to use sprint burst/ lithe now when they're being tunnelled instead.
Yeah, my favorite place to wait out old Dead Hard was on the opposite side of the godpallet they reached by Dead Harding.
-
Alternative title: Really bad survivors are now getting killed and its okay.
-
Good first post, time to learn how to loop without DH.
-
Same energy as gigasabo squads. It's an oversight. You can do nothing while you slowly and surely burn through their charges. For double locker gamers that is.
The real solution is, if it's just 2 of them, focus on draining one of them dry. Also try to bait them into jumping out early if possible, maybe identify the weakest flashlight saver and try to make them mess up.
Wanna know how I'd fix it? Add a "slam" action to lockers. Slamming the locker runs a sped up "locker empty" animation, and prevents survs from leaving for 5 seconds, with a 10s cooldown.

Dude, this matchmaking is just bad. Newbie killer were paired with experienced survivors and instead of fixing their matchmaking the devs buff every noob killer that now can win against pro swfs with 1-2 slowdowns and tunnling… very skillful. That has nothing to do with boosted dh survivors or something like that.
No, DH got nerfed and boosted survs are going down in 20s instead of 40s. It's that simple.

Why would you jump to that conclusion?
When they announced the feature, they specifically said it would give bonuses of up to 100%, so the 100% is not a bug, or an error, it's intended.
What's not intended is the fact that it didn't change from survivor in 24hrs.
What I mean is that the 100% bonus is different than any other bonus like bloodhunt or BBQ. The queue bonus is multiplicative instead of additive. So, if 2 people bring flans, I end the game with 25k points I get 75k-ish points. With the bonus, I'd get 150k points! With WGLF that would only have been 100k points.
That's the bug I'm talking about. But the bonus has also been stuck at 100% for surv since the update dropped, despite queue times varying. I simply hope they keep the multiplicative bonus, it's awesome.
-
They say they're addressing the addon grind Soon™. How soon? Maybe midchapter in 6 weeks. Maybe next chapter in 3 months. Maybe next year.
-
Yeah, love it. Been running it on Nurse, replaced BBQ with Darkness Revealed. Really helps with indoor maps too.
-
@Marigoria said:
"Listening to the community" they surely did not listen to any solo q survivors that's for sure.
They should get on the solo queue improvements sooner rather than later.
-
@Omputin said:
These incentives were supposed to replace BBQ/WGLF bonuses but they are already most likely nerfing them.
Yeah. We know that the percentage is bugged to be 100% survivor always, but I bet they're nerfing the multiplicative bonuses too. Damn shame.

Why was it so hard to stop the perk from lighting up if a killer was undetectable?
It feels like the easiest solution was just ignored for unnecessary complexity.
Agreed, that's all that had to change. Add that TR icon toggleable to the HUD and everyone's satisfied, expect the ones who think a single perk should invalidate a killers power.
-
@Devil_hit11 said:
No, the dev specifically said in the patch notes that they thought the reason why spine chill was strong ..... was from 6% vaulting speed..definately not the reason why anyone was using the perk. spine chill+resil is niche perk combo. you would see 20% pick-rate on resilience if this was the reason.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3072033#Comment_3072033
well they could just add a small TR icon debuff for players with impaired hearing. it would work same way as any other debuff(like exposed). I highly doubt 20% of players were hearing impaired though. It sounds more like an excuse. It was mainly be used by players that enjoy survivor stealth gameplay(often used by Claudette mains).
I don't mind them weakening a meta perk, but if you weaken this perk, survivor have no other viable perks for stealth other than this perk(excluding iron will), so i think its slightly unfair for them to completely kill a play-style.
And I think it's very unfair that a stealth killer has to awkwardly crabwalk to use their power. Spine Chill countering stealth just felt awful for stealth killers.
As for hearing impairment, I agree that they absolutely should add a visual indicator, even something as simple as a picture thet fills up on the HUD would work, like how Spine Chill works now. And one for lullaby. Of course, toggleable.

Dead Hard was in the game for five years. The new patch has been out for a day.
People started complaining about DH after they added validation, which was right after CoH at 100% was added too. Then came snowmen a couple months later. The whining was justified.
We'll see how things go.
-
That's great! That makes all BP offerings stronger. They should keep it like this.

They mean why as in "Why make the choice to change that?"
There's no real reason to reduce BP from spending shards by 33%.
-
The DH animation is 1 second, while the endurance you get is 0.5 seconds, so you can get hit in really unfair looking ways, even while it looks like you were Dead Harding.
I think if survs stop running Dead Hard we can safely buff it by 0.1 or 0.2 seconds, but we should fix the animation and see how it feels first.

It's funny you assume everyone used DH...
Yeah, 75% of top mmr players and 50% of average mmr players. Hardly anyone, really.
His point is that a very large amount of survs have been carried by their perks to higher MMR than they can handle wiyhout their perks. Just like Noed can carry killers too.

Exactly. I was lol'ing pretty hard at several posters on here that said something along the lines of "now killers can actually play nice and not rely on tunnelling and camping". Bro, you didn't have to play that way before this patch. Now that it's easier to camp and tunnel, killers are going to stop doing that? Sure, Jan...
Exactly. And that's why I think the 80s timer and removal of hook grabs makes sense. With DH removed, chase times should actually be reasonable. No DS, only Off the Record, and no DS bullshit endgame means that we can in fact play without tunneling and still do fine.
I say if kill rates skyrocket and DON'T come back down? Do it. Increase it. Why not? It only hurts killers who proxy, but ideally proxy camping shouldn't be necessary anymore. Chases are faster now, your first down should happen fast enough that you can actually go leave hook and play the game without all the gens popping cause DH artificially extends all the chases.
Though I feel Prove is gonna become meta in high MMR, which will be obnoxious.
