That's the main problem with the game. Why bother bringing a variety of perks while you can just follow the meta? Killers bringing slowdown perks and survivors bringing second chance perks is so common because mixing the best perks together is not prohibited in any way.
It gets boring easily, but it's the most effective thing to do for both sides, especially since you don't get any bonuses or rewards for bringing weaker/niche perks.
Maybe something like a "perk of the day" or a "build of the day" should be implemented to the game, where by using a randomly daily chosen perk or build you get some bonus bloodpoint gains. Would be fun and it would be entirely optional, too.

Speaking of average players, I would say the deathslinger is better than huntress. He has a smaller terror radius and an unpredictable gun. Huntress however has a much higher skill cap, so a good huntress (that can for example land long shots from the other side of the map or know advanced mindgames) will always be better than a good deathslinger.
-
They are obviously overpriced - a purple outfit costs the same as 2 new characters. 2 characters! Making them so expensive is really bad for business. I only bought one cosmetic with shards when it was on sale, and I don't plan on buying any other. It's just not worth it.
Edit: And don't even get me started about "legendary" skins. They cost 15 bucks! You can buy a few dbd dlcs or even a whole new game with that amount of money. And the skins are far from "legendary" at all.

That’s a fault of the survivor though. Many just throw all caution to the wind when the last gen pops, rather than play MORE cautiously.
It's not the fault of the survivor. The killer is always supposed to win a chase, and the case is that in most situations a survivor is already being chased when the last gen pops. You can't play cautiously then, because well, the killer is already chasing you..
-
What do you mean? The previous 3 original killers are literally Oni and Plague, which you mentioned, and Deathslinger ,who is very tall. The game lacks the hobgoblin killers, not the beefy killers.

Oh you mean camping when the last gen has popped and gates are powered is bad? I'm not scum, or new. I camp when necessary. Meaning when gates are powered and no one is dead, I'll camp. No other choice then.
Sure, camping when exit gates are open is probably the best thing you can do. I'm just saying the survivors will never be happy after you do that and some will call you out on being a camper, well, because you camped. So where is the issue? No one is saying you should leave the hook.
-
You can play however you want, just don't expect survivors to not be salty after dying on first hook because you decided to camp them. Plus what you are doing just encourages bringing DS/Unbreakable/Borrowed Time - just to escape these kinds of situations. So don't complain when survivors bring these perks if you want to camp.
-
The devs really want us to use the same 4 perks every single time, it seems.
Why nerf a perk that is not even that popular nor overpowered?
-
I really like the new killer's power, although he definietly needs some tweaks and buffs. And Desperate Measures, the new survivor perk, can be paired up with botany and self care - you can heal yourself at nearly normal speed and heal others very quickly - definietly makes for a fun healer build
-
Well, Myers is a very mediocre killer, even below average, he is in no way OP. You should just not get caught off guard, because most Myers players will only pop tier 3 if you are in a weak spot
-
The matchmaking is VERY awful, so your best bet is to just rank up as quickly as possible. Focus on the emblems - you should cleanse totems, do gens and do at least 2 safe unhooks and get chased by the killer a little bit and you should be able to get 2 pips every game

Before EGC you can just open the gates and hold the game hostage. Now you 99% it and hold it hostage.
Not really? You can start the egc by opening the gate manually or closing the hatch. There is no holding the game hostage here.
-
Absolutely. It's always the megs with the bob haircut. One time I was playing on Yamaoka estate. I died on first hook because two megs urban evaded around the corner of the map and were hiding behind a rock the whole time. True gamers.
-
What killer giveaways are you talking about? I've never heard of it..
-
Visually, Dead Dawg Saloon is definietly my favourite - I really like the atmosphere but sadly the map is kind of unbalanced.
Gameplay-wise, I like Badham Preschool - pretty balanced and has a nice atmosphere as well
-
Looks like bugged textures to me. I think this particular texture is used during the first stage of the hook, when the entity slowly appears.
-
That would actually be an awesome charm, it really is a wasted opportunity. But I guess 5 identical recolored charms of Meg's gold medal are satysfying too, right? Right..?
-
How insecure do you have to be to notice how many people of each race there are in a HECKING VIDEO GAME? And then complain about diversity in a game where there are clearly enough POC characters? Jesus Christ, do you really have nothing better to do?
-
Literally unplayable. Uninstalling the game rn.
-
I usually play normally and don't mind it. But no obession really encourages tunneling, since you don't need to worry about DS.
-
Don't forget the fact that insta down killers are even harder to get the adept with, because insta-downs hurt the chaser emblem. Just don't use your power, I guess..
-
They can just replace these "fillers" with Bloodpoints or Iridescent Shards
-
It's a very easy achievement - you can just try slugging the last two survivors. If you fail, don't worry - there is infinitely more moris you can get. Good luck!
-
I fully agree - sitting alone on a gen for 80 whole seconds and getting 1250 points is very discouraging. That's why I always try to find a second person to get coop points
-
- Learn to play Nurse at a good level
- ????
- Profit.
Alternatively slap Stridor on Spirit and even the best survivors will go down in no time, because there's kind of no counterplay to that.
-
Sure, the most "toxic" part of DBD is the end-game chat. But some actions during the match are toxic too - they usually have no other point than to annoy the other side. For example purposely waiting at the exit gate and t-bagging the killer or slapping someone on the hook, and maybe abusing some flaws with the game, like bringing object of obsession with a Midwich offering.
Playing sweatily and using scummy tactics is not "toxic", but is overall unfun (at least for one side)
-
I fully understand survivors who do that. Why bother risking having an ultra unfun match when you can just move on to the next one?

Thank you both for taking the time to answer.
So I'm guessing if I do it as a "Gift" option, the progression etc doesn't transfer?
----
There is a technical way to sell just the game. You do the financially transaction away from steam and then "gift" the game to the user. Both parties have to be trustworthy beyond a doubt though.
Well, you can only refund a game on steam if you played it for less than 2 hours. If you played more, you can't get the money back in any way. If you want to gift the game you have to just buy dbd again and then you will see the "buy as a gift option" - then your friend will get a brand new copy of the game
-
You can't sell the game to someone. You'd have to sell the entire steam account. Then yes, all progress would transfer if you did that
-
Remember to bring ace in the hole and collect tons of addons too
-
As long as the totems can just spawn next to a generator or in the open, the hex perks will not be worth running.
-
I fully agree, we need new animations and weapons for legendary skins. Although I don't agree with the axe - slamming a survivor 3 times with an axe is too lethal even for DBD standards. A big blunt weapon like a club or a branch would be nice
-
I like it, actually, it adds some flavor to him.
-
This is the problem with the DBD community. "They can play in a toxic way, that's why I can play like that too". And then it all goes on a slippery slope full off crap.

No deviousness tho'.
Doctor, Freddy, Wraith (somewhat), I'm probably forgetting some killers, but these are easy to get merciless, 'cause they "check" every requirement for the emblem system...
You actually don't need deviousness points for that. The "deviousness" emblem is actually the gatekeeper emblem, it's not connected to the points, so you just need to defend the gens

The problem is when you play killer, you get a lot of SWF at high ranks.
Solo queue low level game-play is different game altogether.
I sincerely hope you play high level killer.
All right, you are an obvious troll. You even disproved yourself here because SWF players at high ranks NEVER use self care, because it's such a trash perk.

How does survivors heal up favor the killer?! Because 32 seconds? Already went through and I won't repeat again (read before posting, not that hard) on why that is silly point.
In theory self care is good. In practice? Nope. I sincerely hope you play a solo queue survivor game with 3 self-care claudettes. You will see my point and understand what I mean.
-
The emblems are very stupid in this game. Instadowns hurt the chaser emblem, like you said - you can try using his no-power addon build - go to hawkins and equip Renjiro's glove and splintered hull. Basically you want to injure people a lot and then you can see them at any time thanks to the addons. Good luck

Items are well, items, they should give you an advantage but they are one time use unlike SC which is infinite (damn I had to explain this).
Healing by other team mate, nothing wrong with it. Two survivor's time is being wasted, wish it was ~30 seconds though.
Idk if you are trolling or not. For real. Self care is a perk that literally benefits killers, the survivors who use it heal themselves in the corner of the map for 32 seconds and waste a lot of time when they could do half a gen instead. And then injuring them again is not big rocket science, so they waste even more time. Get it? Also, items are definietly not one time use. Bring a purple medkit with addons and you can heal yourself several times at a higher speed.
-
A good universal starter build is:
We'll Make it
Spine Chill
Kindred (if solo queue)
One teachable perk
-
Don't worry, everything is ok, nothing is wrong. After all, ranks don't matter, right?
-
Make your Choice is very good on him, believe me or not. I know GF already has an insta-down, but survivors with Make your choice on are constantly panicking, because they don't know where you are and will usually hide and do nothing. And if you find them, well, you get an insta down - very fun
-
Thanks for telling us you are an arsehole. Have a nice day.
-
Hag is the thiccest and sexiest beast in DBD
-
To make a key "usable" you have to complete gens first. The EARLIEST the hatch spawns is when there are 3 gens done and 2 survivors dead. Mori? You can just proxy camp, use the mori instantly and bam, only 3 surivors left and a very easy win for you. Moris are definietly more OP.
-
Time to crush baby megs each time you play a killer that you do not main
-
Yeah Fire Up is way too OP. But it has counterplay - you just can't do gens. That's why Mindbreaker is even worse - there is literally no counterplay to that perk. Pls nerf
-
That is a very stupid idea. You'd only ever see Megs, Davids, Bills and Lauries. Nothing else. A survivor is supposed to be a "skin", not a unique character with special abilities.
-
@Superyoshiegg Katana animations on a one-handed sword look very silly too and changing the Kanabo's model would not change Oni's power, not one bit. It's also a LEGENDARY skin that costs 15 dollars. You know what I could buy with 15 dollars? 2-3 DLCs for DBD. So creating just a few new animations would do them no harm and the playerbase would be much happier and buy the cosmetic more.
