No problem and I agree with some.
Old ruin was actually bad against most good survivors(could you imagine it with the smooth skillchecks now)
Third seal counter object and kindred both pretty strong perks as well as blood amber for keys. Again kinda niche but definitely not bad
huntress lullaby needs like 6 other perks to be effective but new undying helps a bit.
retributions 10 aura read on everyone is very good on all killers since that Information can be invaluable to strategic play
Fair points!
Old ruin was very easy to counter if you were good at skill checks so I will agree with you on that!
Third seal: I actually forgot kindred was a perk so my bad! But with OoO thats iffy almost no one runs that perks out side of memes or 4 man SWF and if its a swf that third seal isnt gonna do much.
If retribution kept the stacks of the hex that just broke then yeah Lullaby would be a bit better but sadly that isnt the case :(
Retribution sounds good on paper but in actual play (just from personal experience going against it so im bias!) ive only seen it work for stealth killers and well it really only works on someone like Wraith and maybe Pig (if they are good at pig that is) Aura reading is pretty good but I don't think as good as other aura reading perks killers have. Discordance, Surveillance, Zanshin tactics, Bitter murmur, BBQ and finally Nurses.

Lol, so you can down 3 people, switch targets constantly, get them all downed quickly, and "he ate those DS's because he tunneled"? What is your definition if tunnelling?
Hmmn i'd say my view on tunneling is "the second the survivor is unhooked you go right back to them no matter what you're doing, even if you're mid chase with another survivor" and yeah he can tunnel all 4 survivors ive seen it many times. Go for the survivor that was just unhooked down them take the D strike then hit them and leave them on the floor. Eating 4 d strikes is almost impossible unless you are going out of your way to tunnel (unless they do what most dumb survivors do with d strike, run at the killer)

Ruin and devour hope are both really good
Haunted ground is a decent option
Retribution is underrated
undying is still very strong
The third seal is niche but okay
Humtress lullaby needs synergy but is okay
toth is pretty bad
blood favour is trash
Noed is quite good.
A lot of these perks require a downside to be fair hence they hex part. Bad spawns will never be fixed and people will always learn spots or bring perks to find them
Nit like you have to run them anyway
D hope: I think is the only hex with high risk high reward
Ruin: ....Its really only good on like 3 killers? (old ruin was better for all killers)
Retribution: is a little niche and again only works on a few killers.
Undying: I dont know what they nerfed I cant exactly remember but I agree its a pretty good hex perk (actually wouldnt mind it being based in killer kit, would force survivors to do bones!)
Third Seal: yeah its niche but....not a good niche probs one of the worst hex perks in game.
Trashness Lullaby: 2nd worst hex in game.
Thirll of the hunt: Now thats a niche perk but yeah I agree its not too good (more annoying than anything else)
Blood favour: I wouldnt say trash but not good either pretty meh hex hardly worth running when you have Undying and D hope and to some extent ruin.
Noed: This perk is quite tricky (disclaimer I have no issues with this perk I think its fine) I only really see this perk being used around the 20-12 ranks so yeah Killers who are new to the game or just straight up bad (or camping killers but thats not the perks fault) On one hand it is a pretty good hex on the other hand though you really dont want to use it cause well you've been playing with 3 perks all game and with how easy totems are to find this perk just ends up like every other hex, broken before you even get to use it. (ive noticed that if survivors see a pretty bad killer they do bones to avoid the noed)
Haunted Ground: Really only see Spirit run this perk nobody else. Wouldn't mind seeing it more its an alright perk.
Sorry for the wall of text but just wanted to give my thoughts on it!

90% of the time, they aren't tunneling. You go straight to a locker, or run up to the killer. And you're on a gen, staying there. Fair and balanced dude
My guy I hate to tell you this but from personal experience, every time there is no obsession in the game the killer has tunneled each and every one in that match so until killers stop tunneling with no obsession in game DS is sadly staying.

Tbf the only people complaining about this change are the ones who do this very thing in the video(not that I blame them you can’t save it by missing the skill check)
yeah exactly! Only the people who actually abused it are the ones complaining. I find it weird that the devs didnt disable the perk when entering a locker I really believe that was the biggest issue. (Then again no matter how many times they nerf this perk killers and survivors will always complain about it)

Totally agreed. I uninstalled the game out of pure disappointment yesterday and I aint gonna play it again till everything, and I mean EVERYTHING gets fixed and/or tuned.
Same here after so many hours in this game I cant stand to see how poorly this game is treated by the devs. So much wasted potential down the drain due to sheer incompetence.

I think the one that sticks out to me the most was Second wind. It saved my ass qt the last second and the killer called it a crutch perk.

True, but I don't think it will be nearly as much of a problem as before because currently, they have full protection if they get out and heal or do a gen. With the nerf coming, they will still have a locker to use, but the second they progress the game they will lose DS. So if you are like a stealth killer you could just break LOS and use your stealth to bait them if you want. Point is that you can no longer be put in that situation where you hook another survivor and still get hit by DS. It could probably be better, but hey it was still a great nerf.
Agreed it is a decent nerf and it should have been like this since the perks semi rework. Honestly though people will complain about it no matter this change wont do much. :(
-
Well sorry to hear object pissed you off that much but that perk was legit only used in 4 man swf (which made it op af) this nerf/rework isn't going to make it perk useful or not fair. Its just made it obsolete
As for D strike I do like change to stop those cock survivors buut they forgot 1 thing that was the biggest issue was hiding in the locker with d strike. At least if they repaired a gen in front of you, you could slug them. Again good idea to nerf the perk but they've nerfed it incorrectly.
-
@dspaceman20 said:
Well I hope people will be happy now. (I really mean it.)
Now that I think about it. There is still a big problem with DS.
This DS wont really change much i think people will still complain about it so dont expect much.
If those object changes go through though that perk will legit never be used which is sad those changes are awful. Rushed rework, awful rework idea.

It’s been almost a year already or more, I honestly can’t remember how long this free Iron-Will bug has been in the game.
It works on injured survivors AND survivors in the dying state.
Yet I’m supposed be sold to the idea of buying another DLC?
You can guarantee that if this bug was a killer bug, i.e. the killer had zero sound when chasing a survivor, that [BAD WORD] would be fixed in a second.
this is why I've stopped playing this game. So many bugs that havent been fixed. Playing Survivor or Killer is a pain cause you're hoping that core game mechanics actually work and don't screw you over.

The Nurse is one of the best Killers in the game, albeit one with a steep learning curve. You should rethink your commentary a bit. I think there being a great Killer that takes effort to master is great. Someday I'll try to learn her and go from zero to hero with her. Only time will tell.
while I do like high skill high reward we also have to remember that even if they require a lot of skill to play they shouldnt be allowed to curb stomp every time someone is good at them. That being said i'm not here saying "NeRF NuRsE REEEEEEEE" but a killer ignoring survivor defenses comes with its own issues in terms of balance. But Nurse will be one of my fav and I hope they never make another one like her!

Pretty sure that thread was made just to have some fun, and don't act like these threads are survive biased, in fact these forumns are way more killer biased than survivor biased. You got threads like these ones and more that just hate survivors for whatever reason. I'm not saying that there aren't survivor mains here, but in my experience I've seen a whole lot more of biased killer threads than survivor ones.
And they are just as bad as each other in this cursed forum.

This! Killers are so quick to forget what old DS was like! sure current DS does have a few issues but it doesnt need a full scale nerf like people keep asking for. As ive gotten better at killer unbreakable and DS are almost never an issue for me! mostly just the gen speed (but thats another issue for another day)

I dont think we'd see the same survivors if they did do a change like this mostly cause lots of people like to "Main" certain survivors but if 3 survivors did become meta due to these stat changes it'd mostly be try hard players who would most likely use them. but as this will never happen there is no way to know how it would pan out with the community.

What I've noticed:
As Killer: 30 matches
- 26 4k matches (I count carrying the last survivor to the hatch as a 4k for this purpose) with at least 2 gens left in all. These matches had at least 3 console survivors in each. They were total potatoes. The worst rank was rank 8 with most being red rank. I'm rank 2 now. These guys do not do gens. They Urban Evade and Selfcare constantly. Dumb move vs Trapper and Pig.
- 2 matches with 4 PC survivors - both were very good SWFs. Though they were fun matches, I admit to losing both as all 4 escaped each time. To my credit, they were all on death hook and I let the last one go in one of them. Gens were flying off shelves like toilet paper in a pandemic!
- 2 Matches with primarily console survivors where 2 escaped.
Overall findings - Console players rely too much on 360s, which don't work well vs PC killers due to optimization. They tend to run more Selfcare, DS and Urban Evasion. Selfcare makes you the killer's best friend (you are off selfcaring while I down another survivor. By the time you are healed, I hit you again. You are not on a gen - thank you for that). DS is great if you are facing a tunneling killer, but I prefer to seek and destroy the next in line. I got DS'ed only one time in all of those games. Overall, I grew bored as heck facing so many potatoes. I thank them for the BP, but I prefer to be challenged. The only fun matches I had were vs those two SWF.....Gawd help me! I actually was happy to see an SWF!!!! Oh, then there is a disappearing bug. I have had several console survivors literally vanish in front of me. Just POOF! Gone.
As survivor:
12 matches (I don't like playing solo que as it is - this was even worse!!!!)
- The Selfcare/Urban Evade survivor teammates from console were about as useful as a football bat.
- 8 Matches vs Console killers - pure nightmare. They are yo-yos on my screen. They seem to glitch back and forth. Timing pallet drops or vaults is very hard due to their frames being so low. I got hit through more walls and solid objects than ever before. I had a huntress hit me from 30 meters while I was hiding behind a T-Wall. Literally through the wall. We were not in chase, just BAM! WTH?! I think a lot of the console killers are thinking that PC survivors can't loop well, but in reality, it is a huge problem timing your loops when the killer is phasing throughout the map. One second he is roughly 16 meters away, then you get smacked!
Overall findings - Some of the console survivors broke the mold and played well. I saw why they 360 so much. The console killers really struggled vs the 360. I started using it when I'd see a phasing yo-yo killer chasing me and it worked really well. I was able to make that poor Doc miss 8 times in a row! That's a new record! I never got more than 2 in a row before - I'm not very good with 360s. The console killers were very difficult due to timing issues. Before figuring out to just 360, I struggled on loops because I could not tell if he was in swinging distance or not.
In short, I turned off cross play. It is a disaster.
This...is perfect. As much as i love the shorter queue times. MY GOD. My games are full of potatoes. every time I go against PC SWF its a breath of fresh air! granted they are quite try hardy but just seeing good players makes me happy to see!

@dugman said:
It boils down to how many seconds on average it takes a killer to get a hit over the course of the game. The faster a killer can get hits the faster they get downs. Hag is one of the only killers that gets hits with pretty much no chase period. She spends extra time in the beginning setting up a web of traps, gens outside that web start to go, but then once those are done the survivors are forced to enter her territory and she gets hits the moment they start triggering the traps. Smart Hags put the traps in chokepoints that survivors will run through when chased off gens as opposed to right next to gens, so crouching near the gen doesn’t avoid the trap, and will have traps that are in a close enough region of the map such that if you get hit by one trap you have a decent chance to sprint toward another trap and get a second hit a few seconds later. Since none of the hits require her actually chasing survivors for more than a few seconds she is extremely time efficient once the traps start triggering.
Her main weakness is against a full swf using a flashlight to sneak around near Hag and disable her traps. You can potentially deal with that by, for example, setting up a couple of traps and then forcing the player following you to set them off to down them, but either way being “weak against a full swf team that specifically coordinates against you” isn’t exactly a problem unique to Hag.
Personally I think she is among the top five killers with the top three being Spirit, Nurse and Freddy and her and Billy being four and five. Most streamers seem to put her fairly high as well. (And Michi is the best Hag main streamer I’ve watched, the things and foreplanning he can do with traps are pretty wild. If you ever want an insight into how an expert Hag player treats traps check out his Hag guide, he does some pretty neat tricks with traps like using the forced camera turn to steer runners into the wrong sides of loops.)
Ahh I see. So what ive gathered from reading all that is shes quite a high skill cap killer. Alright when you put her that way she's sounds way way better than "shes good at camping hooks from far away" i'll look at her a little differenty then :)

Yeah, Billy, Oni, Nurse, Spirit (I would Add Freddy here) What do those killers have in common? They are really strong. Some more than others sure, but no one would put any of those in the bottom of a tier list.
You could probably argue Legion, Demogorgon and Wraith.
But wraiths power while it gives great mobility (with add-ons at least) works against him when it comes to downing people.
Demos requires setup, can be removed and is really easy to see once activated.
And Legions is great at injuring but comes with too many drawbacks, cooldown, stun, missing a hit, not being able to down, to be as good as the others.
So yes with great mobility comes great power and greater chance of winning.
see thats shat I mean for the longest time I've seen people call her a bad killer for all of a sudden rise to A tier

Basically yeah, her power is mostly campy, you never leave your web you stay there and will most of the time win with no problem especially when you are defending a 3 gen.
Ahh I see. That is a bummer :(
-
@OldHunterLight said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1580825#Comment_1580825
Trust me, hag can be more deadly than billy when it comes to being territorial, in fact I believe she is way stronger than billy since you can also mindgame pallets basically by just moving from side to side put trap one side go the other, with duration addons (which are not rare at all) a good loop becomes a meh loop.
Billy might have mobility but he needs to charge his chainsaw bar also to be careful with pallets, rocks, invisible walls etc.
See i never really understood this. A killer can't be out for this many years then all of a sudden be called top tier. When shes only had a buff to her trap setting speed. And STILL be played less. And with how the killer roaster is I doubt it would take this long to actually see how strong she is.
-
@OldHunterLight said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1580817#Comment_1580817
Except that other killers can't do her job better, she can hit multiple survivors fast just like legion but more deadly as she can down with her power, Idk if this is still a thing but traps will also tell you where they went in case that you didn't teleported.
She can camp from far away also denying BT, and if you use MYC she can be hell.
you can run stbfl with almost all these killers minus nurse. But your last part about camping from distances. So the only way to play her is hook defence? That again many killers can already do just slightly worse than her?
-
@OldHunterLight said:
Nope, she is known as an old reliable.
If you can make your web before they get into it, survivors will lose unless you don't know how to use her.
She is a territorial killer, you don't chase.
Think like a spider and flies, spiders make webs and flies fly into them.
If you slap stbfl and corrupt intervension, it's almost impossible to lose as a hag unless you don't know what you are doing.
So i could load up billy and just defend one side of the map. Any killer can play around territory it doesn't make hag any better.

Yes It does cause they can do her map traversal better and in less set up time.

Hag is exceptionally good against Solo Players.
Hag is exceptionally bad against SWF. She suffers from the same thing trapper does, and that is Communication. People can tell each other where each trap is located.
It's the reason she is not played in Tournaments.
But by that logic demi, Billy, one, spirit, nurse, Freddy, legion are all good against solo survivors im asking what makes her so great when these other killers can do her job better.

No you're missing the point, the point is that the perk derails completely the purpose of being an anti-tunneling perk allowing survivors to go for super aggressive plays in front of the killer or hiding in a locker
Then what u want is tweak the perk a little. Just make it the timer of DS gets halved for each survivor that is hooked. As it stands I think DS is fine despite the timer being a minute. As for them "having unbreakable
I expect them to run it and uh i run knock out you know the perk that now makes recover time longer. And you can also proxy camp the downed survivor.
(Correction i just remembered knock out is only slowed crawl speed so Ignore that part!)

@adsads123123123123 said:
I find this annoying as a Nurse. It's not rare that I slug all 4 survivors with having 0-2 hooks before. After doing the math, I've found that in the worst case scenario, there is a 38.7% chance that at least 1 survivor escapes off the hook. Here's the math: there's a 4% chance to escape off the hook and you get 3 attempts, so the odds that a single survivor escapes is 1-0.96^3 = 11.5%. Now there are 4 survivors, so the odds that one out of 4 survivor escapes is 1-(1-0.115)^4 = 38.7%. With odds this high, I am not risking a kobe. Currently, I just wait until the struggle phase until I hook the next survivor. Repeat x4. If devs want to stop wasting my time and the survivor's time, then remove escape chance off hook. Asides from this, kobes in general are just bs RNG when it happens. There is no reason to force the killer to run around the map chasing the survivor again after the game is already over.
The Level of bait in this post...Love it! Please make another one soon! This was a top quality read!

So long as Deathslinger can quickscope he will not be fun to play against. If survivors dodge when they see the gun raise, he walks up to them and M1s. If they don't, he shoots them in the back. The only counter is to break line of sight, but you can't really do that when his TR is 16m with Monitor and it's one of the annoying new ones that take a second to spin up and it's hard to gauge distance from. By the time he shows up and you know what direction he's coming from, it's almost always too late to break LOS. You need to hope you're repairing a gen right next to a strong pallet that you can pre-drop.
The fix doesn't need to be raising accuracy over time, but I think that's a decent idea. You could also raise projectile speed over time, like Huntress, or just massively increase the weapon raise / ADS time.
It's just silly for a ranged killer to be able to use their power to zone and gain distance. Huntress moves at 77% speed while charging her hatchet, for example, and Demogorgon moves at 92% speed while readying his Shred. In both cases, survivors are given warning of the impending attack and are able to attempt to dodge the attack and/or break LOS without losing much/any ground to the killer. Deathslinger does technically slow down to 83% while aiming down sight, but ADS only takes .15 seconds. He can therefore basically spam ADS as much as he wants to zone survivors. Pyramid Head has exactly the same issue with his attack right now. It'd be less egregious on like 30ms ping because you might have a chance at dodging his attack instead of just anticipating it, but on my typical 125-150ms ping it may as well be a guessing game.
The only killer I hate playing against more is Legion, because free deep wounds is boring and frustrating as hell. Doesn't really matter how weak they are overall; I want to have some counterplay to avoid that first hit.
This....This is perfect! Best way to describe the issues!

As killer main I will tell ya how to counter.
Counterplays:
Dead hard very obvious why
Crouch for quick shots on loop on debris and such stuff.
On structures avoid vaulting or they can shot you. The tiles are made to be impossible to hit with the spear.
Predrop pallet except on certain loops short loops can hit you.
Don't get me wrong I have nothing against Deathslinger but you cannot say "Dead hard is a counter"

"Really? what you basically said was "don't get hooked all game"
Against an ivory mori you don't have to be the best- just the least bad until the weakest link is broken. But I don't even see why a decent SWF wouldn't have a chance at just ending the game in six minutes with maybe one hook. Not saying that's always an option. As for Ebony Mori? Yeah, it's stupid broken. Same for keys. Everyone knows this. I'm referring only to ivory mori's since that's what you mentioned earlier.
it doesnt matter what offering the mori is Pink,Green, yellow mori's as a concept is toxic and is one of the only things that is generally no skill. everyone knows keys are op yes and like mori's it takes no skill. It doesn't matter if you're a good survivor or a bad survivor. If killers play the way you seem to want them to it means they aren't too far from the hook ready to come instantly tunnel that survivor of the hook. which in itself is toxic along with the fact you plan to mori them.
As for SWF yeah they could end the game early if they wanted (which is a massive problem of its own) but you know why that is also as bad as killing survivors with mori's? Ending a game quickly rewards nothing. everyone gets less bp. both sides wont pip no one wins anything.

A mori regardless is op and toxic the only one that isnt is the yellow mori and no one ever uses it. And as you said keys are stupid broken. As for not being the best that isnt the issue if your good or not, once your hooked you're in a bad position and if killers play the way you suggest them to they arent going to be far from the hook ready to tunnel and mori, it doesnt matter if your a skilled survivor or not you're going to go down.
as for SWF if they end the game quickly. guess what? they also get little to no points. this games pipping system requires both sides to actually play the game and ending it too quickly rewards nothing.

The tactics you've just said have counterplay, thus they are fair. You're slugged? Run one of the three mains perks for people on the ground (No Mither, Unbreakable, Tenacity- even ADR doubles for this purpose). If you're being tunneled then git gud at looping. Run dead hard, sprint burst, lithe, balanced landing, again ADR doubles here near the endgame, or one of the other dozen perks that gives him environmental advantages like Windows of Opportunity, Quick and Quiet, Dance with Me, so on.
For me, a win is not based on blood points. It's not even based on pips. It's possible to go into games where the survivors literally run out in front of the killer and get downed so quick that there are no chase points to be gained and the game is over in four or five minutes so obviously pipping is not the sole goal of the game unless you're hungry for prestige rather than the achievement of knocking out a team.
yeah for you its getting the kills. But for many people who are still getting all the perks and characters you are telling them to play in a way that reduces their bp gain and pip chance. as for the "git gud" yes I'll be sure to get good against the mori that can end my match in an instant. yes i'll be sure to not go down and I will get good at not getting hooked at least once in all my games. Really? what you basically said was "don't get hooked all game"

"But tunnelling from the start of the game along with a mori is straight up toxic behaviour and is not "smart plays" same with slugging when there is still 5 gens."
Those are extremely intelligent plays and any good killer is going to play to those strengths.
No...They're not that actually gives the killer less points in the long run. If your goal as the killer is to pip and earn BP spacing out your hooked survivors early game is good. Slugging all 4 survivors from the get go and hooking them gives you nothing and the other players also get nothing, nobody wins in that instance. And again tunneling 1 survivor from the get go less points for you the killer. You keep saying "Smart Plays" but they're not you're actively reducing your overall bp gain and your pipping chance. If so many other killers who arent toxic can play fairly and still pip and gain a large amount of bp why are you encouraging bad plays?

I mean if u put on a mori and only use it on toxic survivors that teabag at every pallet. Then its fine the survivor deserve it.
And if the survivors play fair you dont use the mori.
See I get that but honestly just...ignore them. Its ######### hard to ignore the toxic bunch but they thrive on killers getting toxic why give the toxic babies what they want? (Sorry if this sounds really stupid)

Good tactics aren't toxic. They're just smart plays. You're the kind of person that gets upset that a killer guards their one and only kill at the end of a game, or whines about being slugged while running DS.
Quite a big assumption that I act that way. No guarding a hook at end game is not toxic. Guarding a hook when survivors are swarming it is not toxic and slugging when there's 1-2 gens left is not toxic. But tunnelling from the start of the game along with a mori is straight up toxic behaviour and is not "smart plays" same with slugging when there is still 5 gens. There's a time to slug and defend your hooked survivor but going out of you way to play like a toxic player is a lot different from the "smart plays"

bbq is probably one of the best and most balanced killer perks in the game, it rewards hooking survivors, and it gives information on where to go next which helps incentivise not camping
Yup! It is literally the perfect perk! Anyone who calls it OP just sadly means they arent very good at the game yet.
