People used Rancor before?

Bipedal locomotion is a psuedo-teleport. It gets you where you want to go but slowly and not through obstacles. Oil is merely psuedo-water, it makes you slippery and penetrates most porous materials.
If you strip out the core identity of a thing when trying to relate it to another thing, the analogy ceases to work. Going through stuff is integral to a teleport. If the ability doesn't go through things, it's no longer related to a teleport in any way. They don't share enough properties to be related to one another after a certain point. What you're getting at is ridiculous and poorly phrased and thought out. It's okay, you know better for next time.
Cool story. Not accurate comparison at all but lovely little story.

A teleport that doesn't go through obstacles. Now I've read everything.
If it's not a pseudo-teleport (I never claimed it was on par with an actual Nurse/Sadako Teleport), why is ever Wesker I ever seen using the ability after hooking to move faster around the map?
This just in: Moving from one space to another 21 meters away in less than a second is NOT a teleport. Oh dear.

I don't know why I think your reply is extremely distatestful.
Everyone should feel safe playing DbD, streamers or be it normal players and the top priority in any game is safety more than anything else. It's not worth the attention... it's worth to take an immediate action on this and I couldn't care less about anything else as long as others have such problems.
Truly saying, you left me a bad taste with this.
How was that distasteful? He acknowledge it needs looking at and objectively stated it's a big problem to a small percent of the total player base. This is factual, not opinion.
You even acknowledge you "Don't know why BUT..."

Does it actually grant a sprint burst-like boost when tanking a hit? Or just a regular hit boost? I’m still a bit confused on that one.
It is just the regular hit-speed boost and applied Deep wounds.

The feature will offer bonuses to the side that needs it, depending on region, MMR rating etc. Also it won't always be 100% - it will be a varying percentage depending on what is required at the time.
BBQ and WGLF died for this. Ugh...
Why are you punishing players with the grind?

Probably to de-incentivize just standing at the hook and making sure that person dies, getting rewarded for multiple hooks is at least an attempt to make healthier gameplay.
I can see the reasoning

It was literally a free escape when they were saved from the hook at endgame. The killer could do literally nothing to stop them because the speed boost lets you run pretty much to the other end of the map even if you were as far as possible from the exit gate. With the exception of maybe nurse.
Yes so now its a guaranteed tunnel Kill off hook, regardless of anything. All this does is encourage more tunnelling.
As I said, OTR needed a change for end game but disabling the entire perk is lazy.

I don't think you're being reasonable about the purpose of this patch. This isn't Christmas morning and you aren't owed a present. The devs said killer kill rates were too low. Thats what their data told them. So they wanted killers to be stronger. It's a balancing patch. Survivors weren't supposed to get something in return.
Survivors will adapt and settle into a meta. And it's gonna be lithe and sprint burst with something like lightweight or calm spirit to help lose chase, plus a healing perk and maybe a gen speed perk. It's already happening
Fair enough. When queue times get even longer and kill rates get higher, perhaps they will make some more meaningful balance updates

So killers cried that a survivor was invincible for 80 seconds and could take his time body blocking before escaping with zero counterplay? How dare they!
Ikr? Killers got nothing this patch while Survivors have super op *checks notes* Perks that do nothing after the objectives are done.
OTR needed a change for end game, but not this.
-
Because Killers cried survivor's "get a free escape at the end of the game".

So you want the Devs to do something about an artificially created statistic because you THINK killers need to be nerfed because survivors can't do anything so have to kill themselves on hook to make the devs think that the kill rates are too high that are being created by survivors killing themselves to inflate kill rates? My mind got a little dizzy after that...
I want the Dev's to acknowledge there is a problem, whatever it takes.
They can collect their own data on inflated Kill rates if they chose/cared.
Try not to get too worked up.

Honest question man what exactly do you want changed?
Glad you asked:
-Thana needs a rework. NOT. A. NERF. It needs to be valuable to all Killers who cannot guarantee 4 injured survivors like Plague/Legion/Nurse.
-DS stun looked at. 3 Seconds would be fine if the survivor animation off the shoulder didn't take up 1 of those seconds.
-Many Killer "slow down" mechanics need slight adjusting. Legion would not be so overly oppressive if mending didn't take 12 seconds EACH. They adjusted other perks to compensate increased Killer action speed so unsure why these weren't adjusted either.
-Pain Res needs a cooldown or adjustment. You can add more scourge hooks around the map as compensation or even a slightly larger regress. Being able to camp a hooked survivor AND regress distant generators should not be a thing.
At the risk of sounding like a survivor main, I cannot think of any super overpowered Survivor perks that haven't already been gutted.
Open to all thoughts.
-
Really don't understand the Devs doubling-down on "rewards for hook" Killer Perks.
Pop was bad enough. Now Pain Res.
The reward for hooking a survivor is getting them one step closer to removed from game AND Someone else has to save them.
Why are we double rewarding base mechanics? Imagine if survivors got a speed/repair boost after completing a generator.
-
Yeah its almost as if the most overpowered Killer ever created is benefiting from all the indirect buffs. I've seen way more Nurses this patch than ever before. almost like Killers know how stupidly broken she is now.
It's almost as if Survivors know how powerless you are vs Starstruck/Pain Res/Dead Mans Nurse and just opt out.

It's funny how some of you claim to want better solo q, yet here I am, someone who mains solo q asking you people to stop ruining it even more and you refuse.
Yup, I don't care.
Game tutorial says I can play as Altruistic or as selfish as I want.
As I said, when they correct the situation that you said yourself "is a really rough time" I will stick it out.
-
Not uninstalling but not playing the game until it is fixed to a more reasonable place.
Enjoy your Killer queue times
-
When I load into Thana Legion or Nurse/Blight with all slow downs, I am out.
When they correct the current anti-fun meta, I will stick it out. Not before.
Do not reply to me "I am part of the problem". I don't care.
-
The grind is only reduced if you planned on getting every survivor/Killer with every perk.
Most people just want their favorite survivors/Killers to have the good perks so the grind has NOT been reduced.
-
Because you spend 70% of the entire game on a single generator that keeps getting Popped, Pain Res'd or Dead Manned.
And since you cannot communicate with anyone, you will run halfway to unhook someone, they get unhooked by someone else, and you spend the other 30% of match running back to the same generator.
Fun game.
-
If you want survivors to suffer: Legion, Blight or Plague
Everyone hates them but I love The Twins (Survivors will also suffer lol)
-
People keep touting "iT's oNlY 10 eXtRa sEcOnDs".
Completely ignoring:
-Reduced distance after hit
-Reduced CD after hit.
-Adding STBFL to the above. You can hit a survivor, continue "chase" and get another hit within 4 seconds. Intended?
-Slow down perks (Pain Res, Call of Brine, Dead man's)
-
You can spend the whole game on a single gen which keeps getting Popped, Dead Man blocked or Jolted.
Game is super miserable to play as Solo Survivor.
-
I hope everyone switches to Killer.
When queue times get even longer, maybe the Dev's will realize they way over-tuned things this patch.

Not quite, see the values I posted above. It's gains the old 8 stack value at 7 stacks, one stack difference.
Am I seeing zero change between 4 and 5 stacks? How does that work?
-
@Mozic said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3078528#Comment_3078528
I mean 0.1 seconds faster at 8 stacks is virtually meaningless. It's the increased value at lower stacks that would probably need addressing in some form.
👀 After Ive played a few rounds with it though
Yeah the 0.1 is pretty small, but you only need 6 stacks now to get to it's "full strength" compared to 8 pre patch.
Regardless, like you said, how it feels in game is a whole different story lol. Its strong.
-
@Seraphor said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3078398#Comment_3078398
Technically any attack cooldown and action speed buffs are less effective now, as x% of 1.8s is less than x% of 2s.
8 stacks of STBFL would have reduced a 2s cooldown to 1.2s. A 0.8s reduction.
Now 8 stacks of STBFL reduce a 1.8s cooldown to 1.1s. A 0.7s reduction.
Is 1.1s that much better than 1.2s?
If these perks are strong now, then they were still strong before.
Except you get the same value at 6 stacks now that you got at 8 stacks pre-patch. Only after 6 is it diminished value.
This makes it even more valuable then I previously assessed.
-
Yeah STBFL isn't completely broken right now at all with the base hit CD reduction.
I can't imagine why Killer mains are running this perk every game. A mystery to be sure.

Clearly. But I wonder why the implied animosity toward bisexual people from gay people. I've seen so many gays and lesbians gatekeep bisexuals, hard.
Who is "implying animosity"? It's not myself as I have carefully worded all my responses. Or are you just pulling this opinion from your own feelings?
You can't just throw a blanket statement that "gay people gatekeep bisexuals" without any context whatsoever.
It's not true regardless.

or you know Bi people exist.
He is specifically mentioned to be gay after the fact, not bisexual.
Bi and gay are not the same thing.
-
My main problem is the inherent slow-downs in Killer's kits adding to the chaos.
Pig's traps are basically just a time waste, but combined with increased gen times, it actually takes a long time to get everything done.
Same with Mending. What was a normal "slow down" mechanic for the game seems slightly overkill.
Small tweaks could change this.

Some gay people out (notably older ones) have had straight relationships before. It could take time to discover your true sexuality or perhaps society pressured them into acting straight in front of others.
So like from a writing standpoint it may just be a retconn, but it would still make sense even if it wasnt a retconn.
Sure but this is a fictional character, whose entire identity is defined by the paragraphs provided.
Adding stuff later is totally fine but he was clearly never originally intended to be gay.
This isn't political. Purely observational.
-
No. It stated he had a girlfriend in the original lore.
Unless the GF was just his big, gay beard, he has been ret conned.
-
Bubba with Bloodlust just on your ass even after dropping a pallet.
I'll pass thanks!
-
Next Week. Today was just their findings and adjustments for the live release. I think PTB closes today too.
-
Just remove her lullaby radius and make passive Condemnation stacks to force survivors to use the tapes.
Two simple changes would make her a lot better.
-
Because it is going to take a large amount of work to balance maps so it is fair for both survivors and ALL Killers.
BHVR averages about 3 maps reworks every 3-4 years. (AutoHaven, Coldwind, Haddonfield)
-
Depends on the Killer.
Twins' Toy Sword is still their best add on, and it is common.
-
Crows flying down can be a dead give away. Means they were in the area 15 secs ago.
You don't have to see them go up necessarily.
-
He is strong but he is not at Blight or Nurse level. Take that as you will.
I can see Nightfall being annoying. Love it thematically, but to new players this would be almost intolerable.
Not everyone has the maps memorized or running Windows of Opp.
-
They have made some substantial changes to Plague, Trapper Legion, Spirit and a couple others.
It's a surprisingly delicate process because if you overhaul a Killer's power too much, you have basically erased the Killer's "Identity".
And at that point, if you are redoing a Killer power this severely, why not just make a new Killer all together?
This really leaves the only option to make small Number tweaks to Killers, which has been done to everyone's general approval.
-
Bamboozle base-kit isn't necessary.
What he needs is maps to be reworked to not be huge messes. Some maps are simply unplayable on Trickster or other Line of Sight/slow Killers.
It would fix a lot of Killer's problems.
-
Mori's needed a change. I think even the most Killer-sided player could see they were at least unhealth for the game.
Were they nerfed too much? I am not going to comment on that. That conversation could go back and forth.
Blessing totems was a nice idea to give Survivors a side-objective besides Gens. How it was presented and implemented with CoH and "snuffing" was poor though.
I think that needs to be their real focus. Meaningful side objectives that in turn create more exciting gameplay.
-
Thanataphobia alone will be quite annoying, and this not even the biggest offender.
I think they greatly over-buffed the regression perks. Overcharge alone is dummy-busted.
-
They are trying to pretend like Trickster never happened.
May I also refer you to Twins bugs and Deathslinger nerfs?
-
@Pepsidot said:
I think you're muddling things up a bit. The exclusive "distinct rewards" were said to not be cosmetic or charms.
The "prestige awards" on the other hand is completely different to what BHVR was talking about. And they can be earned by anyone once the new system is released.
Sorry the "Sparkling Portraits" was intended to be a reward. Lmao. Looks like a cheap filter that can only be seen on your side anyways.
That is even more sad that this is the intended reward for long time players.
Thanks for clearing that up!

Correct. The special reward for reaching prestige 3 before the update is indeed not a charm, as we confirmed. The additional rewards for reaching prestiges 7-9 were not mentioned prior to the dev update.
Oh right I forgot "sparkling portraits" is the real reward.
How foolish of me.

I'm putting Stridor on every game now.
I really want to hear Jane's moaning from anywhere on the map <3

Does Basekit Borrowed Time and the new Off the Record stack? And does the Mending status prevent future endurance application while afflicted by Mending?
-I believe it will stack but 60 seconds + base line 5 seconds won't be noticeable. As far as what I read.
OTR will only be super valuable in end game escapes. Otherwise, you need to do nothing for 60 secs to retain endurance.
-You can already get endurance while affected by Deep wounds. It resets the deep wound timer and gives you a speed boost
