Whenever I am in a game where the gen's pop fast the killer often tunnels/camps. I have never had a killer say "omg noob you gen rushed". See my logic here?

Only because you didn’t see it doesn’t mean it does not exist.

i have been called a „toxic genrusher“ or similar way more often while playing survivor than I have been called a „tunneler“ or „camper“. But I am not denying that killers getting accused of tunneling/camping (when not doing it) is a problem.

The Survivors Rulebook For Killers is an actual problem that has existed in DBD since it began, what with survivors victimising themselves against the big bad killers and creating a bunch of rules that you should follow if you aren't a heartless monster. Ironically, the counterplay to literally everything the killer can do is just to rush the generators and leave. And, also ironically, it is acceptable for most of the survivors that worship the Rulebook to t-bag, hook bomb, run full meta builds, be in a full tryhard party, bring every item and claim them to be worthless, play ultra safe against m1 killers and then call them trash, and most recently: Run DS/UB.

And yet the Killers Rulebook Jor Survivors has never been a meme or joke, except in the sense that people joke about it ever existing even as a meme or joke. I wonder why that is.

Looking at these forums, survivors are definitely not the only ones victimizing themselves against something big bad...

sorry but that’s just not a one side thing, those people exist on both sides, and while i wasn’t here from the beginning I am really confident about the fact that this was always coming from the whole community. Both rulebooks are just memes, there are people on both sides making ‚rules‘ for the other side.

  • Apparently you tried to let her go because she would have wiggled off (and saved her mate) either way.

they did nothing wrong. Well they could have worded their texts in the chat better, but I have seen much worse.

also that whole „killer x is most balanced“ is never a good argument, and especially Myers who can change playstyle based on addons that much can’t be tiered easily like that.. not saying infinite tier 3 is toxic or OP, just that Myers and no Killer is „the most balanced of them all“

Nobody blames the survivors for that though. All the complaints are around the mechanics of the game not the survivors that are just doing the objective

That’s definitely not true. It’s literally used as insulting term from killers as „tunneler“ and „camper“ is from survivors. Maybe not as much in the forums but often enough in end game chat

  • It’s a known bug where the scoreboards shows a different killer power and I think no perks at all.

nothing the killer can control I think. Or it happens when they change the killer while in lobby..

Slugging leaves Survivors with a chance to escape. Unbreakable or Soul Guard allows the slugged to get themselves up. When the Killer is off looking for the 4th that Survivor can sneak past to heal the slugged or work the final gen/s for a possible Adrenaline play. There is also the hatch to deal with. The slugged Survivor can simply crawl away as well.

A Killer slugging for a 4k doesn't mean the game is over. There are multiple ways to counter slugging in perks or strats.

Someone sitting at the escape line doesn't have any counter. The game is for a fact over at that point as NO Killer has the means to fight against that. Deathslinger is the only Killer that can even have a chance at countering that, and it is only if the Survivor is wounded AND allows Deathslinger to get close enough. Blood Warden is the only Killer perk that can counter an open gate, and that only triggers after a gate is open AND the Killer lands a hook.

That's the difference. Slugging doesn't mean the game is over and has counters any Survivor can use regardless of build or character at any point in the game. Sitting at a gate does mean the game is over and almost no Killer or perk can do anything about it.

Sitting at a gate is used the vast majority of the time as pure BM. A final chance to say "######### you" and nothing more.

There are counters for survs at exit gate. EGC will force them out, killer going there will force them out and Deathslinger as said already. Very easy counter at that.

There are scenarios with one slugged and the only other alive where there is no counter at all except for letting one bleed out/hooked last second. Unbreakable is one time use and doesn’t help when there are multiple gens to go. It’s just prolonging the game to prevent bad bad hatch escape

I blinded him with a party starter so he decided I wasn't allowed to play anymore.

Yeah, but he might use any other reason or no reason at all. Still all is valid and devs are saying this is okay. It’s not even griefing if the same killer doesn’t only attack you and no one else in multiple matches.

and most people of the Community are also more than okay with it. (Personally I don’t get why, tunneling shouldn’t be the best possible strategy but it currently is and majority is okay with it..)

Its a different story. Going for 4k is legit, waiting on the exit to just mock the killer is not at all.

I usually go to the basement or a corner and stay afk, while looking youtube or something. What survivors don't realise is that being toxic with the killer and trying to mock him will make some of them to go iris Huntress next game, and say "oooh so toxic!".

Surivors make killers to be toxic.

why is it legit though but staying at gate to get more points or even help distract killer for other survivors still in match is considered toxic? You can still get a 4K even without slugging the 3rd.

both scenarios are totally valid and within the rules of the game. The difference is you want to do the one thing (that is pretty much mocking the one getting slugged) but you don’t want the other thing done to you (because in this case you are the one getting mocked)

  • I think we will get it for all platforms (except mobile). but it’s not for certain and Microsoft and especially Sony have to allow it.

if there is enough people reaching out to Sony/Microsoft they will see how high the demand is, BHVR knows already its wanted by the community and they are trying to get it.

  • You have to consider all ranks/skill levels, if you only balance for the top 1% you won’t really gain new players and most will just leave.. doesn’t mean top players should be ignored, but I really think it’s not as bad as people make it out to be and those complaining think they are higher skilled than they actually are.

  • Where is the problem though?

The whole point of MMR matchmaking is to make it not rank dependent.. looks like you got tunneled out of the game which is an intended (but still scummy) strategy for killers..

    in Why Comment by Mooks
  • While we are at it, can we also respect survivors and just hook them instead for slugging for the 4K?

just kill me when I am second to last and on death hook. I don’t want to lie down and watch the killer patrol me (so unbreakable wouldn’t help) and the last surv crouching somewhere on the other end of the map.

  • Wasn’t this considered bad/unoriginal/boring at the time it was live? Especially compared to lunar and Halloween even?

i liked it too though, those gens were nice to look at

Can't make a fun light hearted thread without someone like you coming along lol.

Oh sorry, didn’t know bashing one survivors is fun light hearted.

sorry but most answers were not light hearted at all. It’s just the normal „killer good survivor bad and toxic/salty“ mentality. Which doesn’t even apply here.

  • It’s obviously the [insert platform you are playing on]. And it’s always the [side you are not playing] that is super toxic! On all platforms, but mostly on [your platform]

  • Where is that entitlement though?

there was one guy saying tunneling is bannable, which is just misinformation. Plus he may be not even a native English speaker, so what’s the problem with the misspelling?

the other guy pretty much pointed out what you said as well: you are not that good as nurse and the team was not good. But the way you phrased it he didn’t even exclude himself with this.. (by the wording it seems like you wrote something before though...)

also we all know that rank means nothing and there are survivors of all skill levels in high ranks, that why they don’t want to base matchmaking in ranks anymore.

  • Jane and Claudette got summer themed outfits alongside Billy though. And they are not over the top like a literal bikini.

i don’t need this kind of cosmetics but wouldn’t be strictly against it, but maybe only for characters where it fits. E.g. Quentin (long with his face rework) or maybe a new survivor that’s a swimmer.

  • We have relatives in Oni and Spirit, but granted they didn’t know each other. Also Michael Myers and Laurie Strode are siblings, but they are licensed so also not exactly what you are asking for.

could be a possibility for sure, don’t see it as necessary but I am also not against it

Im not downgrading your opinion, I could have worded that better. I don't see the creeper as the creation of a pedo. I see it as a well designed character in horror, that would fit dbd.

It doesn’t matter how you see it.

the devs said they don’t want to be associated with that guy and that is the right decision here.

  • I like your last paragraph in those posts

its not like you made perfekt perk proposed that could be translated as is in the game. And BHVR creates and implemented and tested all those perks to begin with and it wouldn’t be wise to make so many perk changes all at once/in a short span of time..

  • @andyollolloll said:

I'd question your first point as PC killers have an advantage over console killers but console survivors have an advantage over PC players in that the comms software is in-built, so every SWF would find it easy to chat to one another.

I thought that argument is about performance of PC vs consoles and that’s why PC players would be considered having an advantage over consoles? But then switch performance is also worse than other consoles so that argument negates itself

also we don’t even know how MMR is actually calculated, so it could still be relatively low if you are just carried by SWF friends because you still have to play yourself and chasing etc would be dependent on your own input. It will most likely not just take escape vs death rate into account

  • Copy of my answer from a similar question:

    “

This is the „ask the community“ section of the forums.

there is a „feedback and suggestions“ section as well as „share your work“ where you can post own chapter/killer concepts.

afaik there was no case where the devs directly took a suggestion solely from the community for killers though..

    “

afaik there was no case where the devs directly took a suggestion solely from the community for killers though..

  • I actually don’t see it happen.. most of the time there is a (more popular) movie adaption of fitting horror books that are just easier translated to DbD and more recognizable. And if there is a movie adaption but they are basing their designs only on book descriptions people that only know the movie wouldn’t like it as much, so best way would be either movie license or book license that doesn’t have any visual adaptation..

  • you can’t really take the ranks of the survs/killer as indicator if the MMR matchmaking works or not; the whole point was to make it not rank dependent..

as to easier or harder matches: the devs never stated you would only get perfect matchups, but you don’t know how those matches affected your MMR. Also this is still a work in progress and is only tested on one system for a reason, tweaking is also going on.

also you gotta think about the RNG factor of this game, you can get in situations where you can easily down a very good surv despite you being not the best killer, it happens a lot in this game for me actually..

are you playing different game i mean i play steam and ps4 and i never get good messages i try give good messages if i can sometime after match killer another survivor get into it i go i'm solo.

on ps4 i just flat out disable it

Only playing on Steam so cant talk about PS4.

but yeah, I usually get nice messages even if I was super sweaty. I can remember my achievement attempt for the 4 Moris in one game, no salt there. And even on my Killer adept attempts where I slugged for the 4K I got more nice messages than bad ones. But I have to say I don’t start the chat with „lol ez baby survs“ when I win ;)

  • @NekoGamerX said:

i say remove it the chat box just spread toxic message very rare people get nice messages...

I get so many nice messages, especially when playing killer. I don’t want to see that gone.

  • You can also ignore the chat or don’t even show it.

even if there were direct word blockers people would find a way to type in the words they want, be it with separators or exchanging letters with numbers or something else so if you really cannot handle it and you know it, hide the chat!

Also pls use the Chat abuse report function if necessary, no additional screenshots are needed here.

  • Imagine this but with reversed roles. You would have been praised here. ;-)

but yeah, you are one of the big problems with this game.

  • Only ‚problem‘ of BBQ is on high mobility killers such as Billy and Freddy, that can reach the survivor basically in the time the aura is shown and OP even said they know how to counter it, but many inexperienced survs don’t and thus the whole team gets snowballed easily.

why is everyone being so defensive when they only run this perk bc of the BP bonus? No one said there needs to be done something against that. And no one said it should be nerfed to the ground.

but maybe an adjustment towards the mobility of the killer could be considered, making it not so super strong for the killers that already have it easier and maybe even buff it for those killers with lower mobility.

  • I guess the main point the devs made regarding hitboxes is that they are saying latency is the actual issue here.

and that will get adressed by server sided hit detection.

  • We definitely need more survivor items but not something to stun the killer like this. With the current balancing, that would be too much.

  • It’s not possible at the moment and may never be for Xbox.

BHVR works on a cross Progression system where progress is saved in an external account, but it is only planned for Steam, Windows Store, Switch and Stadia. They try to also bring it to Xbox and PS 4

  • She looks tired and that cosmetic is one of the worse looking. But this is pretty much just normal DbD style. Compare it to Quentin and you know how a junkie looks like

  • She shouldn’t even be in, since gingers make up less than 2 % of the world population. This is just pandering. /s

seriously though, one of the free original chars, many cosmetics and not really that ugly to begin with. I like her actually. NOT comparable to quentin

Putting a little spot of blue tac in the center of your screen can assist with targeting. Sounds odd, but helped me.

Yeah thanks for the tips, but i got other killer achievements to go that promise for fun (like Evil Incarnate, I actually had fun attempting this). Maybe if I got everything else I go for the Skilled Huntress again..

You say I had to drop doing gens and eliminate any chances of our team getting escape?

Nope, but don’t complain about a good game that you obviously carried.

it is a team game after all and everyone should actually take part in the different tasks for a balanced experience for the 4 teammates, that’s how the game is designed. I often get max lightbringer but I get why there is a cap on it.

  • You get noticed once you have reached the cap for repairing gens (which is capped at 8K BP and is Part of Lightbringer)

for more points you gotta do different things (chasing and altruistic actions plus the very inconsistent survival category)

since you got 24K you obv got other points as well, and that is a pretty good outcome, and really no reason to complain..

  • No problem (though I should re-read before posting in case autocorrect wants to tease me...)

'Skilled Huntress' did take time, as there were matches where the survivors just weren't having it, kept dodging the hatchets etc. But some survivors are very happy to farm. Some will play ball. If you're lucky, you can get a good few downs in a single match. It's handy to use high tier Deerstalker when attempting in order to measure distance. I completely dedicated myself to this trophy and whilst it was a displeasure, I got there in the end.

Re 'Where Did They Go', I use PS4 so I don't have pre-game chat. Also, does this trophy work with SWF because I heard that it doesn't.

To get Evil Incarnate, it's almost essential to have fragrant tuft and Judith's tombstone. If you don't have those add-ons both available, I honestly wouldn't bother attempting the achievement at that time.

SWF should not hinder that achievement at all. There was a general bug that made it not trigger though they have fix it!

Evil incarnate does need those 2 addons and is not even possible without it, but if you got them, it’s ‚easier‘ to accomplish than Skilled Huntress, at least for me, and it’s not even close.

  • @Lazerboy88 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1460377#Comment_1460377

No evil incarnate is harder to farm because you literally have to find a full group of survivors that are willing to literally let you kill them.

Yeah as I said I was thinking about farming with communication between killer and survivors (which is very much possible on Steam), otherwise it is hard. Still not impossible with enough luck and patience.

but under these circumstances there is no achievement that’s hard, but the Skilled Huntress requires you to aim well enough in all situations, which is pretty much impossible for me.

  • @Dr_Loomis said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1460377#Comment_1460377

It takes time, it's a graining grid...but with a willing survivor squad, it takes away any real skill needed to get the trophy.

It usually involves gaining trust, standing miles away, and having two survivors heal each other while you lob the hachets. It's likely the other survivors will join in and you rank up a good few long-range downs. Getting the achievement legitimately it's madness as the distance, having to down an opponent and the sheer amount of hits needed are all ridiculous. Totally ridiculous. It should be simply 20 hits, not downs, from the needed range. That would be far more realistic.

Evil Incarnate and Where Did They Go? can't be farmed and obtained in the same way.

I personally didn't find Evil Incarnate hard to unlock: I was lucky enough to get it on my third attempt (First time survivor got the hatch, second time I got a d/c). There are however, a large amount of killers who are having difficulty with Evil Incarnate. The reason why this can be a tricky to achieve is that it depends on survivor behaviour. Survivors are far more willing to get farmed by a Huntress with long-range hatchets, with the unofficial agreement that they will be allowed to exit and survive the trial. However, survivors are far less willing to 'assist' it a challenge involves them dying. Often, killer players who use the Myers instakill have reported that survivors will disconnect or hide in the locker, rather than die. And then taunt the killer in the post-game chat. The survivor can really pull the plug when attempting this trophy.

'Where Did They Go?' could be easy...if you have a team of survivors who are 'all in' on the situation, especially one with a rainbow map (with marker) and another with a key etc. It could be made even more easier if you're going against a nice killer or even better an AFK. But these important elements rarely come together: all it takes is one survivor to die or one to go out the exit gates...and that's the trophy attempt over. Again, it's an achievement that can be a headache because it depends on survivor behaviour over grinding.

I tried that huntress one. Trust me, it’s not as easy to find survivors that are willing to do it when you are incapable of aiming at all. Most will let you injure them but not down them.

where did they go I did get in a farming game as well (well got it done in normal games also but it was bugged at that time and in the end I got it in a normal match because of another bug where 3 escaped and one died), this is quite possible even without the killer knowing you attempt it. It’s really not that hard if you got either SWF or teammates willing to do it, and for that the preMatch chat exists.

Evil incarnate is another one, I thought obviously about farming with communication, otherwise it may be harder in farming, but then again it’s not that hard to accomplish, you just need many attempts (and for that bloodpoints for the offerings) and luck.

  • @Dr_Loomis said:

'Where Did They Go?' potentially is the hardest, as not only must you all survive, you have to be all 'onboard' and have to find the hatch too. It's a ridiculous achievement and I got it via pure luck: after I brought a key in to the match, the Deathslinger got caught in that short lived 'float above fallen pallet' glitch.

People are saying 'Skilled Huntress' is the toughest: that's not true. It can be obtained relatively easily if you farm. Doing it legit is absolutely insane.

The cruel thing about Evil Incarnate is that it depends on survivor behaviour. The disconnection and locker issues are a real problem for some trophy hunters.

And I speak as someone who has every DBD trophy.

Saying Skilled Huntress is not hard because you can farm it makes your other suggestions (Where did they go? And Evil incarnate) also easy. They are even easier to farm actually since for the huntress one you still need to actually hit the survivors from far away while they are injured; that’s very time consuming and not done in one short farming match, especially if you are not that good with huntress aiming to begin with.

  • Nothing in regards of matchmaking is officially confirmed as of now. So I guess we won’t see it in the midchapter, otherwise they would have tested it in PTB.

    (just my assumption though..)

  • That’s a good question.

i mean you can make an Additional player report and leave those fields open, try to be as specific as you can with all other information, maybe they can find the windows store Id on their own?

but I don’t know and I really want to low as well (additionally: can you actually see the Steam ID when you are in BigPicture mode? Because I couldn’t find it and just never bothered to make a report again...)

  • Didn’t experience this but there was actually code found in the latest update for bots. We don’t have any official confirmation but they may test this like they do with matchmaking: sporadically without any announcements only in specific regions..
