You have to read it with a longer pause at that part. The one who wrote it obviously intended it that way because they had to stop there as well. Couldn’t believe that it would deplete the gauge.
-
Bloodlust was introduce to counter strong loops before all the map reworks and other balance changes. It is present in every match and the devs want to see the effect of it compared to when it’s not active.
DS can be monitored pretty well because there are plenty of survs not using it all the time. They can already see the effect of the perk on the matches and are probably fine with it.
keep in mind they have to think about all ranks and skill levels, and DS (on its own) is not as strong as many people say it is. You have to bring looping skills and possibly other perks to make it as strong perk.
-
to understand the blink you really gotta practice.
inwas pretty hesitant to try out nurse at all, not a good killer player here and only on controller. But when I started and had some matches in I got relatively confident.
the brown Addon that shows where your blink will go really helps for practice, especially to determine when there are two stories. But don’t get too dependent
-
Changed the paralysis/frozen status from timer-based to movement based.
Maybe better anti-loop and skillbased this way, plus it encourages the killer to use the ice-pathing to get the paralysis.
also timer based feels pretty boring and I may use that too often in my concepts

Clown Isn't incomplete because he was released long time ago and that was that, only now he is getting changes so he is being updated
Blight was a mistake on released because no one noticed the POV of blight until recently
The Twins is coming incomplete because its something NEW coming to the game, but its not coming with all the changes that they presented, therefore, its being released incomplete.
Don't understand where you got your logic of saying that its not incomplete for a NEW killer that is being RELEASED with only half of the changes and then trying to compare that to Clown and Blight because they are getting UPDATED.
There is a clear big difference when something has been released long ago and is getting updated
And something that is being released currently, but only with half of the changes coming with it, which will affect the true gameplay and overall feel of the killer.
Also, something being released with all the changes, balances, bug fixes included and then only days later, the devs decided to change something, that still updating it.
The blight problem was actually often called out even during PTB time.
it was just that the devs never gave a statement about it, just until the last Q&A.
i think it is good that they try to put in community feedback that was not intended before. It’s not incomplete because they are releasing it the way they intended. They just add something new that came from feedback and couldn’t be implemented that fast.
-
They don’t release it incomplete, they will just change something that takes more time because of community feedback. They might even change more about the Twins in the upcoming years.
is clown incomplete, because they are just about to change something about him? Is Blight incomplete because all animations will be reworked because of the low FOV?
this is a Live Game That constantly gets updated, reworked and new features, that does not mean it was incomplete on release.

I enjoy the game and have fun. Its a 4v1 online game, obviously its not always going to go your way and screaming "broken games devs suck" like a child isn't going to do anything, just ready up and move on. I think people underestimate just how much work it takes for this kind of game and how it is literally impossible for everyone to be happy.
- game is inherently unbalanced, impossible to balance all skill levels. What balances reds will hurt greens.
- no perks are "game breaking". Sure undying ruin and unbreakable ds make it so much harder. But it is possible to beat so the games not broken
-matchmaking is terrible, that I agree on. I liked the idea of mmr, last round didn't work but hopefully next one will
-they changed it to survivor hit validation didn't they? I might be wrong and not implemented yet but they definitely spoke about it
-they are currently going back and optimizing graphics, but while they're doing that people are just moaning about lack of new maps. Improve the old, then make new
-they're fixing maps, because yeah there was some bad design
-i know precisely ######### all about how netcode works and my experience might be different from yours but my games been pretty stable
They didn’t change hit detection, they tested server sided hit detection which still had some flaws for short ranged attacks (Huntress, Plague, Desthslinger) and reactivated the killer sided hit detection.
they are still working on server sided but detection and MMR

Would have been nice if it weren’t on a weekend. I was going to grind out some killer games...
Weekend probably means more players active and more data collected in a specific timeframe.
you can still play normally and will earn BP either way. You could also try some killers that are not as dependent on BL

What I don't understand is why is everything tied into new chapters? Why can't a fix ever happen outside of a new chapter or mid chapter update?
Because they need approval from all platforms for every update they are making and especially Sony and Microsoft are known to take their time with that. Having more updates would result in even more work on that front.
also NOES is not a bug that needs to be fixed, they needed to get the rights from the license holders for the new platforms. This is very probably tied to a specific date

You must not play against many high rank players. If the the healthy survivor hides - why in any situation would you go "I am going to waste the time looking for the survivor, then injuring the survivor, exhausting the survivor, and downing the survivor" when there is a perfectly good already injured survivor right there in your sights?
It's moronic to not go for the unhooked survivor at that point. It's completely the survivors fault for not protecting them, or making themself look like a better option to chase than the unhooked.
just because I say there are other options means I don’t play against many high ranks?
i did not say tunneling is always bad and killers should never tunnel.
but if the killer decides to tunnel for whatever reason they shouldn’t be surprised to be called a tunneler.
-
It’s not only about being offended. There are legal issues in some countries that hinder BHVR in adding stuff like children as survivors or disembodiments.
there is also the thing about BHVR being true to their own words. They said they wouldn’t add children to the game and now people jump on this because they like to bash BHVR for anything.
-
you forgot about the function of the button ‚W‘ which should be disabled during chases.
and stealth mechanics, survs should glow while they are crouching, preferably with that map marker option, so other survs know when a teammates plays immered and crouches!
-
It doesn’t really matter that people call him a baby.
thats pretty much the problem for those people, when they refer to child abuse in discord or on other social media platforms where this is not allowed.
BHVR made it clear this is not intended to look like a baby and it actually doesn’t that much, and as long as they don’t get legal problems why should they not release the killer?
-
Yeah I agree this is annoying, didn’t know that it actually prompts to healing when you are moving.. that’s pretty dumb..
you can of course rebind inputs to avoid this, or don’t heal right beside a pallet..
-
I don’t know of an option like this but you can just flag and report a post of them and then describe the issue of the username in your report?

You don't get to tell people what they see when they look at an image or a depiction. The portions are similar, victor is hairless, their addons refer to baby toys like toy swords. Victor's voice is chibi'd, sounding very child like. He looks like a demon baby.
Portions are similar because they are humanoid, but that’s it.
saying it looks like a demon baby is valid, since those are actually just fiction.
it’s really just Victors height that makes people call him baby, it wouldn’t matter if he had hair or if the addons were adult stuff.

Three people? You messed bro, there's not just toxic people who will try to skew their data, pair this with bad survivors and you will get completely broken datas. They should test bloodlust on theirself, like other Devs do as well
How do you know they didn’t already test it theirselves? Maybe they want to see if their results will match those of live servers?
-
How is a temporary test a nerf exactly?
-
@ZaKzan said:
It's a small humanoid body that crawls out of a female. Regardless of what it is, it resembles a baby. It even screams like a baby. The addons for the twins are things like toys, which also point to victor being a baby.
Child or deformed human, not a baby. He is not crawling out of a female but they are conjoined twins that can separate thanks to the ability the Entity granted them.
addons can just be something important out of their past.
pls inform yourself how a human baby looks like and then compare that to Victor.

I thought he is a human like Charlotte since they're conjoined twins? 🤔
Aren't the Demo and Pyramid Head a monsters since they weren't borned or created in the nature way?
He died and was kind of resurrected by the Entity though, which makes him a former human but now more something like a zombie. Which is more monster than human.
-
Can you imagine the outrage if this wasn’t announced? People have a breakdown right now by of the announcement. If they thought it was a bug affecting a mechanic for killers this severe I wouldn’t wanna be near the forums.

the Wraith got additional backstory with his tome that has shown his hatred and desire for revenge overshadow his desire to protect the innocent people that saved him.
i guess we will see another part of Adiris with her tome storys as well.

Even if he’s not a baby I’d consider him a child ..he died at like 5-10 I believe and when he was resurrected..well he’s still that age mentally and his body is tiny lol so that’s why I call him a child ..
Didn’t say anything against that and don’t wanna argue about that. But he is very clearly not a baby.
-
@SweetTerror said:
BHVR has no one to blame but themselves for the way Victor looks. If you don't want people calling him a baby, then don't design him to look like one. I mean hell he practically lives inside Charlotte's womb for crying out loud.
And if we're seriously going to censor people for calling Victor a baby because he's not a baby, then we should be doing the same for the Pig since she's not an actual pig.🙄
You seriously need to make some research about what a womb is and how a human baby actually looks like.

Are we playing the same game? Totems the skull things that can sit in an open locker in a long hallway? Or in really obvious protrusions in the map. And that's on midwich. Or are we talking about being hid behind a long row of benches around the outside of the map that? The only good hiding spot on the map was the one on the observation level and everybody knows were that one spawns.
I haven't plated the TTS because all of my perks and unlockables are all on console but I give it 2 to 3 weeks before theirs a video on youtube showing off their incredible hiding spots.
Yeah you are right. We are playing different games. Have a great day. Bye.

Yeah don't count your breath on the hidden totems. Countless updates and their still spawns a totem in the middle of a clearing in asylum.
And in a normal sense I would agree but this isn't the game it was in the beginning. Now this game is flooded Swf meta builds. Where if one knows where your totem is everybody knows. Killer perks and natural game play have changed to the point that if you actually want to get anywhere in an actual match Ruin + Undying has to be a staple of your kit.
The change might actually bring some LOVE back to the Killer side. Where if Ruin and Undying aren't found in the first 10 seconds of the game you aren't out 2 perks or 1 perks
Trying to protect the game as it was when it first came out is admirable but all things need to move forward.
Asylum is still about to get the rework. And I am almost 100 percent certain that this one totem spot won’t stay.
now look at the midwich totem spots or some of the lerys.
-
David and Yui might have the ability to escape but I don’t see them escaping with leaving anyone behind. Both fight for others more than for themselves
-
That whole argument of 16 perks against 4 perks does not make any sense in an asymmetrical game. The perks are designed with this in mind.
Hex totems are mostly high risk high reward. And at least with the new maps and I guess some of the spots in the reworked ones the hiding spots get better! Plus they will be harder to spot with the new graphical update in the upcoming chapter.
-
If it’s only about survivor:
try using a perk that lets you get additional BP for survival category. Head On, Decisive Strike, Inner Strength, Self Care. Also Medkit for selfcare.
depending on your skills in chases you might want to get boldness points from totems instead of direct killer interactions, Detectives Hunch or Small Game may help here, or a map.
-
I think Felix, Elodie and the other members of the Pariahs may know more about the Entity than they realize and may find a way.
Kate just because she fought the Entity before and shows strong Hope and Will, she feels like the Final Girl the most.
-
Some people include those story’s in their character or chapter concepts in the ‚Share your work‘ category:
-
I think it should be the Jason from the movies, with mommy issues, the iconic sound and all. And Tommy Jarvis or what he is called as survivor.
but then again I never watched a movie from that franchise (except Freddy vs Jason) so I shouldn’t demand any of it I guess..
for GhostFace it was okay, since it was only the costume in the movies that was iconic and there were so many that wore it.
-
I played 5 matches or so and never touched the switch version again.
i felt like I had super great input delay, FPS issues and turning around made this gaming experience real horror.
-
Oh we don’t talk about sound bugs that benefit killers here!
but they didn’t fix the silent survivors while slugged yet! How dare they?
(Spirits bug is pretty much in every game against spirit for me it’s not consistent for every phase in one match though. silent slugs I only experienced once..)
-
Click on the name to get to my killer concepts here in the forums:
Hannibal Lecter, not necessarily the Anthony Hopkins versions, but more from books or the series, where he can be seen hunting and being a ‚slasher‘
Charlie from Don’t Starve Together. Odd one, because the artstyle is so cartoony and the Game may feel too lighthearted, but at its core it’s still survivors being caught in another dimension and being killed.
The Blair Witch, just because it’s a really classic and iconic movie and I feel like DbD in general and the Hag do take inspirations from that franchise.

It's not my interpretation or personal definition, it's how the term came to exist in DbD.
And meaning of a term can change over time.
see facecamping, it was used for when the killer stood in front of a hook so unhooking was literally impossible. That was fixed, but the term got a new meaning, and is still being used. Many people adopted the new meaning and differentiate proxycamping and facecamping this way for example.
-
@MadLordJack said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1758903#Comment_1758903
It is, actually. The term came from "getting tunnel vision." Just because people want to change it to fit their narrative doesn't mean that the term is actually undefined.
no it’s not. Just because you have a definition of what tunnel vision would mean in DbD does not mean your interpretation is the one and only.
or- other interpretation: tunneling in DbD is just Legion or Nurse having their fatigue. That’s the only real tunnel vision in DbD. You can’t tell me otherwise since it’s literally getting tunnel vision. Nothing else comes closer.

That's the problem with these discussions: too many people define tunneling differently. Originally it meant the killer having "tunnel vision," ignoring all other survivors to chase one person. Now, a lot of people seem to think it means hooking the same person twice in a row, even if you can't find anyone else. By the original definition of "tunneling," it was pretty much always a bad thing because you were ignoring other targets to your detriment.
The way so many people use it now, to just mean hooking the same person twice in a row, the term "tunneling" is completely useless.
Yeah but it’s the same for many of those terms such as ‚camping, ‚facecamping‘, ‚genrushing‘ and my favorite ‚bullying the killer‘
there are problematic incidents with all of these but those terms all get overused and used out of original meaning.
-
@MadLordJack said:

Please explain how chasing the only survivor you can see is in any way ignoring everyone else
There are people with other definitions of tunneling. It’s not well defined

But it isn't a "always" a bad decision. Sometimes it isn't even a decision. For example, I put down the very next person who happens to get in front of me. I'm not picky and I don't care if I hit you before or not. Half the damn time the person who got unhooked comes and finds me (I'm sure by accident) on the other side of the map. Am I supposed to ignore them? I think not.
Most Killers don't actually have an intent one way or another. Killers just take whomever is the weakest link and most likely down. So if I find a fresh Survivor and a wounded one, I'm likely to take the wounded one. If I find two wounded or two fresh, I'm going for whomever has the weakest loop (or none). If I have a choice between dead on hook and 1st hook, I'm going to put the dead on hook out of the game.
It is my job, when I play Killer, to sacrifice Survivors and I'm not picky. I don't go out of my way to tunnel (unless I have a darn good reason) nor do I go out of my way to avoid getting the same person. It is just chance.
I did not say it is always a bad decision.
-
@Zaytex said:

If I was actually tunnelling then I would have no qualms about being called it, but its when survivors force me to tunnel that makes me somewhat frustrated.
In a way, I wasn't even tunnelling, since there were no other objectives or survivors near the injured survivor.
tunneling is not well defined. You may think you didn’t Tunnel. But you have not seen their perspective. The unhooked may have thought you were busy because it seemed to them you were going somewhere were another survivor was hiding.
-
@TheButcher said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1758668#Comment_1758668
Oh right right. As a "killer player" you know that when you hook a survivor and don't find survivors anywhere else you should stand int he corner of the map and stare at the wall~ /s
I did not say you should not go back. I am not saying tunneling is always a bad decision. But you do have other options than going after the injured or stay in a corner.
-
@TheButcher said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1758644#Comment_1758644
Do you even play Killer? Yeah - patrol the gens. Then what do you do after? Obviously go after the only survivors you have a known location for - if the savior hides too then guess buddies going back up on the hook for round 2.
It's called learning how to perform safe saves. Know the whereabouts of your team, the same as the Killer. Go for the save when you know it's safe. Take a protection hit if need be, and try to start a chase. (Don't just take a protection hit and run away).
I am playing killer. But when I tunnel I don’t act surprised for getting called a tunneler.
-
@Moundshroud said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1758644#Comment_1758644
His point is he came back to his most recent point of seeing a survivor and getting the notification that someone got off the hook. That is normal. The Survivors just need to keep their salt to themselves.
Or he (or she) could just be happy that they had an easy game. After all there was no gen being worked on at that moment. And stealth is not a super power. You are still able to find the other surv, they decided to ‚tunnel‘ (which is okay, but don’t cry about being called tunneler)
-
Yeah that healthy one should have stayed under the hook and let you hook him/her! /s
they could not have known you were coming back, and why would you? There are gens to patrol after all. It’s not their job to entertain you all the time with a chase. Stealth is just as a viable strategy as tunneling is.
