  • What can we do to get BHVR to realize how P100s are getting bullied and have toxic interactions because they refuse to remove the prestige icon from pregame? Do they just not care?

  • @SantaKlawz1 said:

Yup. I switched from my Tapp to Dwight because of it. I'll probably stop leveling him up once I get mid 70s and just start another character. It's dumb to show our prestige or anything before the match starts.

It’s just sad and pathetic that survivors have to do this. I’m sorry you had to switch. 😩 I’m going to stick it out for a little longer and see how I get on. The games today didn’t seem as rough as last night, but they weren’t great either.try Had a Grandpa slug me on repeat every time one of my teammates got me up. Didn’t even try to hook me once and played as normal with the other people. I just don’t understand the mentality at all.

  • @DavidHypnos said:

I just think it’s funny seeing people complain they’re getting stressed out when matchmaking because they could be going up against a SWF. Meanwhile, in solo queue as a survivor I have to wonder if my teammates are going to be doing anything at all and have absolutely no information on the killer or if they plan to play super aggressive and camp and tunnel at 5 gens. And if I do get killed early on I can’t look at the killer’s info to try and learn from their build or add-ons unless I want to sit and wait for the rest of the match to play out. Killers, imo, get way too much info already.

    All of this 110%.

  • You shouldn’t earn an adept because somebody DC’d. After next week they will be replaced by bots and then you can just carry on anyway.

Oh no, how DARE I suggest that in a game reliant on information, they should make less killers reliant on a lack of it! You know, because certain swfs will completely destroy them and they'll only be playable against solos? Theres a reason no killer applies blindness basekit, because blindless only does JACK in soloQ. God forbid we design killers who dont get obliterated by comms.

You don’t go against as many SWFs as you think you do.

I would just hide prestige and items personally, and maybe display the killers name (and profile + ping) for survivors.

There's no reason to hide which survivors are being used because they're just skins, and there are valid reasons for dodging specific players, considering there's no effective block feature to prevent matching with someone you don't want to.

I would think they are just skins also, but I’ve seen people on this forum say they avoid lobbies with certain characters because they are thought to be toxic (example Nea) or they avoid survivors that dress in bold colors. 🤣 You couldn’t make this stuff up, but it’s all been said.

  • I mean honestly I’ve just been thinking about this… look at all the information the killer has before the match.

    Survivor Prestige Level

    Item (Flashlight, Med Kit, etc…)

Player Name, so access to search Steam, Twitch, etc… before the match even starts

    Survivor Internet Connection Issues

Survivors have zero information on the killer or the person playing them. And don’t get me started on how silly it is that as a survivor you don’t know you are going into a match against a Wraith who is on a VPN from half way across the globe.

I started this thread thinking prestige’s just needed to be hidden until end game. Now I’m all for no lobby at all. Just load into matches blind. I don’t even think offerings should be shown at this rate. Do you know how many times a killer DCs on loading if they don’t like a map offering or a survivor DCs because they think a Mori is being played.

It sucks but if swapping gives you a better experience then why not just bite the bullet. I just ended up being a Steve main and vaulted my Dwight until they decide to fix the problem.

Because I shouldn’t have to. Prestiges should not be shown until end game. It is information that the killer shouldn’t have from the start. Why can they dodge or play differently when they go against a P100, when a survivor can’t dodge a P100 killer?

  • @Göch said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3485078#Comment_3485078

You can't even pick a high prestige surv without 5 killers dodging the lobby. I think the killer should get way less information and definitely not more, being able to go through the steam profiles of your opponents before the match is already ridiculous.

100%!! Why should a killer be able to dodge and search profiles before a match starts? Yet the survivor can’t see who the killer is until after? There are A LOT of killer players I would love to dodge who I’ve have had very toxic matches with. Yet, I don’t have that option.

It's been a month since his release (June 13th 2023). If people need over a month to get good with the killer, then that killer requires being a pro.

We have no way of knowing how many hours people are putting into him. There were people on this same forum two hours after he was released saying he was terrible and they were never playing him again and begging for buffs. People don’t want to put time or brain power into getting to learn how to play him properly.

  • @CountOfTheFog said:

Yeah, this is out of control and I'm taking a break. It's not worth playing right now.

It’s so sad. I worked my butt off during the event and managed to get 56 levels into my main, up to P90. It’s now a week after the event and I am still spreading the Terrormisu love on every match, yet I’m getting tunnelled, slugged, nodded and slashed on hook. I rarely had gameplay like this before I got to P100. It’s obvious that it’s intentional.

  • I think the point is that you don’t have to be a pro, you just need to practice with him. He hasn’t even been out long enough to have put in a good amount of hours into.

And no, EMPs don’t need nerfed AGAIN. At this rate killers will just say get rid of them altogether so they can just teleport directly on to a survivor’s back.

  • @jordywordy said:

Too bad there is no real reward for spending (wasting) that much time getting a single character to P100 besides bragging rights ...................................... .................................................................... ..................................................................................................................................................

    -_-

I wouldn’t call it wasting time at all. Just because you like to P6 everybody and hoard BPs, doesn’t mean everybody enjoys doing that.

And nobody is bragging. We love certain characters and want the most items and time spent on them. Nothing wrong with that. And people shouldn’t get bullied in a video game because of it.

POV: You did just that and but then the anniversary event rolled around and you wanted terrormisus on all of them.

This as well. I was P34 on the day the event started and I made it to P90 on the last day! It was crazy how fast the levels were flying. Ended up with over 1,300 cakes on her.

  • @Seraphor said:

This is why you stop at 69.

You should already have thousands of every add on or offering by then anyway.

    True 🤣

  • Most don’t stay in a match long enough with SM for any of this to be relevant.

  • @MikaelaWantsYourBoon said:

I don't want anything like this event anymore.

Killer powers were busted while survivor powers did nothing.

Blocking windows was useless except few of vaults. And dream pallets did nothing if you fail to stun killer. But killer powers had easy values.

100% to all of this. The only value I got as a survivor was in the house on garden of joy, the pipe drop on the game and one of the houses on Haddonfield. And even in those cases I had to lead the killer there since you had to be in chase to activate it. You can just be sat on the Gen and make a quick escape because it isn’t enough time to be “chased”. Even on top of the ship on the new map, it’s too easy for the killer to just drop back down to the side. There just aren’t enough places to get value from it.

  • IMG_9979.jpeg IMG_9978.jpeg

Put all my points into Mikaela. This is what I ended up with. On the first day of the event she had just hit P34, and on final day I got her to P90. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

  • What??? I play 100% survivor and I’ve gone from P34 to P82 so far. Killers aren’t the only ones making Bloodpoints or having fun.

  • Yes!!! I’ve had this happen twice today.

  • Dude, I’m sorry, but come on now. If you haven’t won a match in two days, are you playing one game a day? Cause the game is not that imbalanced. It is far from perfect, but this is clearly a skill issue, and I usually hate that term.

  • Thanks for the unsolicited advice, but people can play the game however they want. I didn’t see a rule book anywhere.

Who are you to say chests and totems are useless? They obviously aren’t useless to the person doing them or they wouldn’t be doing them.

Just play the game how you want and if it bothers you how people in solo queue play, find 3 friends you can play with so you can boss them around.

  • Why do people come to the forum to try to justify the way they play? Play however you want, but don’t expect people not to complain. If you don’t like comments, turn off end game chat.

  • @Barbarossa2020 said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3464330#Comment_3464330

But you can do that in kyf if it's about fun. That way you don't have to impact those who don't want to enjoy your swf.

No thanks, im a killer main an when i do play surv i happily play with randoms.

Hahahaha So if you have friends who want to play together they should only do it in custom matches where there are no bloodpoints to be had? Come on now, be serious.

  • Just so I’m clear. Two remaining survivors in this situation shouldn’t be allowed to be stealthy to stay alive as long as possible in a chance to get hatch…

But a killer can can camp, tunnel and slug to ensure kills….

We will just call it a “Final Two Stealth Strategy”. Seems you can call anything a strategy and make it okay to do. 👍🏼

There's nothing fun about farming. You're wasting everyone's time.

    Thanks for the advice. 🙂

  • So to the people who are playing these killers to farm the most bloodpoints, are you putting points back into these characters so you can share the Terrormisu love with the survivors? Or are you just going in with a survivor pudding, reaping all the combined points of others and then putting all the points and anniversary offerings on your mains to hoard them?

  • At least it gives people a breather and a chance to get some BPs if they want. Nice little break from the sweaty Weskers one after another.

I don't agree about the offerings. I don't care if someone doesn't bring them. I'm happy to share. There are reasons why someone might not have them too and not them just being a Scrooge. I remember last year I had to go through several bloodwebs to get my first (and if I ran out had to try to get more) and then there was times I was playing a character for a daily/challenge and I didn't have an offering on them.

Do you not see on the DBD Discord or on Twitter, all the photos of people who hoard them and laugh about how they never have to use them because they just use everybody else’s?

Lol it would instantly become one of the top 5 worst perks in the game.

At best you get 1 down and maybe an injure value from it. At worst you get looped and maybe a few pallets and then get nothing and gens pop anyway.

And what would be wrong with that? Not like there aren’t survivor perks that killers moaned and cried about that got nerfed to the ground. It happens.

  • @CorvusCorax86 said:

How is the community approaching the event? What is your past experience?

Can we expect less tunneling / camping and overall better matches?

    No. Lol

When the event first starts you may see some goofing around, getting invitations, etc.. then it will quickly turn into the toxic mess it always is. But at least you are getting extra bloodpoints for your trouble. 🤣

I always do a lot of Ghostface farming with people to give breathers during events. Even if they don’t want to farm, I let them take a breath, get some points, get their invitations and escape.

I think what annoys me the most is when you put on an anniversary cake expecting everybody to do so and you always get the few that don’t, but they still get the bonuses from everybody else. These people will then come and show the hoarded amount of cakes they have because they are stingy and don’t use them. I feel like you shouldn’t be included in the bonuses unless you bring a cake yourself.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

    It's still showing for me

Cool! Maybe it’s just very evenly matched for me at the minute. Lol

  • It’s a good job then that Killers don’t face as many sweaty SWFs as they think they do.

  • @CaulDrohn said:

Then play TCM, I hear it's a great game. Have fun!

Sadly there is still 58 days to wait.

  • Well the event has been postponed a day, maybe that’s why. Lol

  • @Ariel_Starshine said:

I've had a weird experience with that. I've over 4K hours and my 10 yo niece has 4 hours, she always has survivor bonus, and I rarely have it. When I join her, I get survivor bonus, but when she joins me, we both get none.

I was told it's MMR related, but I still don't understand what's truly going on. Like I need ELI5 haha.

Your 10 yo niece plays DBD. I find this shocking.

  • @Pulsar said:

None, it's not worth being dodged for 10 minutes once you find a lobby.

I just don’t understand why this is a thing. 🤣 You can be playing a P3 Jeff and have a P100 Meg sitting there that can’t be seen. I don’t know why killers can’t understand this.

  • How in the world could you have an issue with a survivor character? They are only a placeholder for perks. Are you saying you just think she looks terrible?

SM, sure. Whilst killers can also use any perks they have a unique power you can think is terrible, so that is understandable.

But having an issue with a Survivor, which is basically just a skin… hmmmm…

  • @Bloodwebs said:

So I just sat down to play some Dead by Daylight to add to my already eight thousands hours. I wondered which killer I'd face in the fog. As that load-in screen was almost finished I was super excited to hopefully verse anyone BUT Skull Merchant.

My heart continuously sinks to the middle of Point Nemo when I hear her terror radius.

Her chase music overstimulates the hell out of me.

She can hold games hostage forever

Extremely tedious gameplay on the survivors end

The game may go on for 50+ minutes.

And in solo queue, you're often 3 genned with legitimately no way to escape.

I understand that winning isn't everything, however, Is it wrong for me and my many friends to just run up to the killer and kill ourselves on hook?

I have heard that she is being updated soon, however we find no enjoyment in versing her. It's a shame because her character design is pretty cool. I just wish her whole kit was different.

But her kit and playstyle is the WORST in the game.

I would rather verse a nurse any day of the week than a SM.

Do the game developers intend on changing her playstyle?

Just get hooked and go next as you mentioned.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/WEC3I72162EA/made-for-this-description-png.png

Made For This is the most broken survivor perk released in recent years. And I will be going into detail explaining why. Including some rebuttals I have to people defending the perk. Let's begin.

Why Made For This is Unbalanced

1 - The speed boost is too accessible

Being injured is far too lenient a requirement for a near-permanent 3% speed boost. Despite having the 2nd lowest Haste effect of all Haste perks, Made For This manages to be the most powerful because of how easy the extra speed is to access. Every single other Haste perk requires at least some effort to either obtain or maintain the speed.

    • Hope - Requires all 5 generators to be repaired
    • Bloodpact & Teamwork: Power of Two - Requires another survivor to be healed and forces them to remain close to you
    • Boon: Dark Theory - Requires lighting a boon and staying within 24 meters of it

The reason why Made For This is a problem but other haste perks aren't is that it requires so little effort to activate. Getting a speed boost of any kind is huge because it can make the difference between getting hit or reaching a pallet in time. There's a reason why most killers move only 15% than survivors. Tweaking the movement speed too much for either side will quickly lead to unbalanced games.

This is easily noticeable since Made For This is very commonly used now. And effectively grants whoever uses it a permanent 3% speed boost just by being injured. Survivors should not have access to something as powerful as Haste so easily.

2 - It can be used with certain Exhaustion Perks

The only other requirement that Made For This has to be activated besides being injured is to not be Exhausted. This is supposed to make it so you have to choose between the constant 3% Haste of Made For This and the 150% Haste of traditional Exhaustion perks. The problem is that you can still benefit from both.

Lithe, Dead Hard, Balanced Landing and Smash Hit, can all be activated at will when their conditions are met. Which means people who use Made For This can select their Exhaustion perk of choice and run for as long as possible before activating it. Getting maximum value from the 3% Haste from Made For This before getting the 150% Haste or Endurance from the aforementioned 4 perks when the killer is close to hitting them.

You get to have your cake and eat it too. The synergy that Made For This has with Exhaustion perks is far too great.

3 - It also gives you Endurance

There is no reason why a perk that can already massively extend the duration of chases should also allow you to get Endurance of any kind. Being rewarded with a constant 3% Haste while injured and being able to tank a hit after performing a heal is absurd. This is pure perk-bloat.

On it's own, (Or on a more fitting perk), this effect would be fine. It's the fact that it's packaged with an already powerful perk is what makes it unnecessary. Imagine if Sprint Burst also granted you extra unhooking speed. It simply doesn't need to be any more powerful.

Arguments against nerfing Made For This

"Getting 3% extra movement speed isn't that strong"

This argument shows a blatant lack of understanding of DbD's mechanics.

Moving 3% faster at all times is incredibly powerful. Since survivors have smaller collision boxes than killers they can circle around objects faster. Any extra movement speed they get will multiple the distance they can move around loops considerably. To the point that 110% movement speed killers simply cannot catch survivors at certain loops if the survivor is moving too fast.

A perk being able to give players that extra speed so easily is simply not balanced or fair to go against.

"Just exhaust survivors and you can easily disable the perk"

This argument ignores how powerful the perk is and relies on all killers being able to easily exhaust survivors for it to make sense. This is not the case.

Aside from the few killers that can apply exhaustion directly to survivors with their add-ons, Such as Huntress, most killers cannot exhaust survivors with running certain perks. And all of them are conditional. There's no way to guarantee that a survivor will be exhausted when you chase them.

And even if there was, you shouldn't be forced to run perks or add-ons just to counter a single perk. DbD is sorely lacking in viable build diversity and forcing already struggling killers that can't apply exhaustion with their power to all run Fearmonger will only make this problem worse.

"Made For This is only a problem when combined with other Haste perks like Hope. By itself, the perk is fine"

While it is certainly true that being able to run at 110% total movement speed once you reach the end-game is completely busted, that doesn't mean the perk by itself is fine.

To reiterate, what makes Made For This unbalanced compared to other exhaustion perks is the ease of use. All you have to do is just be injured and you get the haste.

If you were to run Bloodpact and Hope together you would be able to run 14% faster. 4% faster than Made For This and Hope. But only after you reach the end-game, heal the obsession or vice versa, and remain close to them. There's sufficient conditions to activate the haste to balance out how powerful it is.

    Made For This only has 2 conditions to work. Both of which are incredibly easy to meet at all times. That is why it is unbalanced;

Made For This provides too much power for how easy that power is to access.

How to fix Made For This

Although I would like the perk to be nerfed, I also don't want it to be rendered useless. I believe it is possible to fix the problems the perk has whilst still keeping it useful.

    1. Remove the Endurance gained on finished healing. And move it to Buckle Up. There's no reason for the perk to grant Endurance given how much the 3% Haste already does. Buckle Up, on the other hand, is a perk that doesn't do enough. And being able to tank a hit while injured after you pick someone up would play to the perk's strengths and give it a much needed buff.
    2. After being in a chase for 20/25/30 seconds while injured, Made For This causes Exhaustion for 30 seconds. This change would allow the perk to remain useful during a chase whilst making it no longer overbearing. The 30 second exhaustion timer would allow players to choose to either run for as much distance as possible in hopes of losing the killer, or to use a 2nd exhaustion perk before the timer is up to gain more distance during a chase in exchange for a much longer exhaustion timer. Since both the Exhaustion of Made For This and other exhaustion perks would stack.

I honestly can’t believe you spent this much time on this post. There are bullet points and everything.

  • @Pulsar said:

    this is just...idk.

Call me a Survivor main, but this is just completely nonsensical in an actual game and seems like it was written by someone who hasn't spent enough time in Solo Q.

"Tunneling is your fault as a Survivor"

It's easy to loop effectively? Yeah, maybe against Killers who are worse than you. Against Killers that are your skill or better? It's extremely difficult.

There aren't generally many safe loops in maps, plus, many Killer powers make it easier for them to tunnel. DS is a joke, you're better off running something else.

    Completely ridiculous post.

Pulsar, I just want to say that your comments are always so spot on. I know you play killer and survivor, and you have to be the most calm headed person in this community. Just want to give you a big thank you.

  • @Zaydin said:

So many survivors I run into seem less interested in playing the game and more interested in tormenting the Killer in some fashion. Constant flashlight blinds regardless of whether they are necessary, incessant teabagging, BM abound, etc.

You have to remember that they are putting more and more survivor challenges in the Tome that promotes this stuff. “Blind the killer 10 times”, “Stun the killer 3 times in one match”.

My normal build is Kindred, Empathy, Distortion and Desperate Measures. I go out of my way to play stealthy and avoid the killer at all costs. But yesterday I had to run perks like Head On, Flashbang and Blast Mine to get these done. And took in items like firecrackers.

Now I know this is just me and people run these types of builds all the time, but it doesn’t help when survivors who wouldn’t normally do this stuff, have to for challenges.

Killer is only easy in most games cause most of the dbd player base is actually just bad but the few good players are actually challenging 👍

If survivors are so bad, you shouldn’t have a problem playing and winning as the new killer then. 👍🏼

I 100% agree. The survivors are in complete and TOTAL control of your power. As he is, this killer is complete and total trash, and he'll only get worse as survivors better manage the EMPs. All you need to do is grab one of the infinite EMPs and hold them until you need them.

I guess you could always try slugging, tunnelling or camping with him. 🤷🏼‍♀️

  • @Brimp said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3453890#Comment_3453890

Slugging, tunneling and camping are oppressive yes but really only for soloq which shouldn't be a reason why emps are as strong as they are now. Cause actual good survivors can outplay singu to high hell even with getting spammed with overclock. There's literally no reason why a survivor shouldn't slowdown while the emp is charging simply because it has a giant range so any bio pod in range is disabled making the singu have to replace it if they're in range and then they can go back into the cam and LOS'ing the pods is incredibly easy if you can already guess where optimal pod placements would be.

People saying emps are fine as is have never played against good survivors and having those games where you don't get good survivors is not a valid reason to keep them as is.

I’m sure if you keep crying they will nerf the EMPs, it’s only a matter of time. Killer is too easy already, gotta make it even easier. 👍🏼

  • @Brimp said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3453844#Comment_3453844

I don't think you understand how oppressive emps can be if they have just a single person harassing the pods. Picking them up and being able to charge them mid chase is worse despite it being a "playstyle". The biggest issue in the ptb was the availability of the EMPS and being able to charge them while running. The emps are less available but doesn't mean they're fine and you can still run with them. Just force survivors to at least slow down while charging and able to go full speed after the charging sequence.

I don’t think you understand how oppressive slugging, tunnelling and face camping can be.

And no, a survivor shouldn’t have to slow down or walk in order to charge them. That would make no sense at all. The killer can just pop another one on anyway.

Maybe you would like them to become incapacitated when they get used also? Or maybe just stand there so it’s an easy down and hook? That is, if they are going with the “play style” of downing and hooking, instead of the “play style” of slugging.

1 2 3 4 … 7
