What i would like is;
Monstrous Shrine activates when at least 1 survivor is hooked down there.
- Get a token for hooking each survivor up to a max of 2/3/4 and at the end of the match get a 25% increase to BP for each token
- Each hooked survivor decreases the repair and healing speed of survivors by 4/6/8% and increases the speed at which survivors are sacrificed by 4/6/8%
- Each hooked survivor increases the movement speed of the killer by 2/3/4%
No way. We don't need anymore Gen Slow down perks, and this just overloads the perk with way too many benefits. Sure it's a Basement Hook, but I really don't want killers to have any more incentive to force basement hooks.
I'm just thankful Killers don't think Agitation and Iron Grasp are good. If those two perks ever became Meta I might stop playing Survivor and just go Killer.

IMO he doesn't need to be completely invisible, but his uncloak time should be smaller and he should be as fast as hillbilly's chainsaw sprint while he is cloaked.
That's crazy OP.
It would literally be impossible to lose him in a chase, you are basically just counting the seconds until you die. The moment you put any distance he just cloaks and he is right behind you.
And we don't need another BBQ Billy in the game. Billy is bad enough. Wraith is now a BBQ Billy who is a lot harder to see and is 100% maneuverable?
No, just no.

I would argue that a Killer with the power to literally turn invisible should be stealthier than a Survivor.
One thing to note about Wraith vs. Freddy is that Freddy also had the power to slow down the game immensely against lower-skilled players, which I would imagine was the more frustrating element about Freddy for those players than the fact that he was invisible (even though he had a blatant tell when he was in distance and, like Wraith, could not do anything to those Survivors until he alerted them to their presence).
sure, a killer that turns invisible should in theory be stealthier than survivors... but again this is just bad game design. This is supposed to be a cat-and-mouse hide and seek game.
If you make a killer much stealthier and impossible to detect for survivors, survivors cannot possible hide from him. Thus you must compensate by making him much easier to beat in a chase. Otherwise he becomes a broken killer and nobody wants that. So what compensating nerf do you want to give Wraith if you turn him 100% invisible?
And again invisible killers are bad for the game. Freddy is the prime example of that.
And no, Freddy had the power to slow the game down, but the most frustrating part of fighting Freddy for a low-skill player is his invisibility (impossible to hide from) and when he finds you it is now impossible to get away from him (because he can see you no matter where you go).
This led to tunneling behavior from Freddy or he can just toy with the survivors if they didn't have selfcare to wakeup. And the dreamworld aura also allowed for easy slug builds, Freddy didn't even need to bother with BBQ or Deerstalker, which was even more unfun.
No low-skilled player cared about his slow-down builds. They would die easily long before the game slowed down. I speak from experience.

I have a solution just don't use him if you don't like him. If you want to go 100% invisible use spirit.
you guys are ruining dead by daylight
Not every killer / Survivor perks needs a damn rework.
If wraith gets this 100% invisibility they're also going to Nerf him as well probably giving him a timer for invisibility basically making him like spirit.
I think wraith is balanced and I enjoying using him personally.
You guys also ruined Freddy he had a gimmick that he could put you to sleep and see your aura and invisible to awake people. Nothing was wrong with Freddy. Old Freddy with like Freddy Krueger from the movies. Now Freddy is just a Trapper and a clown. I used to main Freddy because I liked his originality
You guys are going to make wraith become a spirit and ruin his gimmick
Old Freddy was not "okay."
He was a deeply polarizing killer that was the epitome of bad design for this game.
You basically had a killer who was 100% Invisible, 100% could see a survivor at all times and yet was the easiest killer to run for a loop because of his "put to sleep" mechanic. This basically meant that scrubs and new players stood 0% chance of beating him while expert players could run him around all game with impunity.
Terrible killer that absolutely dominated in low ranks but was absolutely worthless in high ranks.
-
I hope I get back into Yellow Ranks. But I ended up too high this time.
-
I tend to agree. So sick of gen slow builds to be honest.
-
Not at all.
-
Speaking of Bond, Bond by the way is probably the single best perk you can take if you are starting as Survivor.
Trust me on this one.
Bond does so many things and more importantly is a learning aid. It lets you see how others play so you can learn how to play Survivor more quickly.
When your teammate is being chased it lets you figure out where the killer is, so you can plan your movements accordingly. When injured, it lets you find teammates to heal you. When genrushing it helps you find people working on gens so you can double team the gen.
It also tells you who your worthless teammates are and what not to do as a survivor.
It is just such an amazing perk, all beginning survivors should use it.
-
I was goinf to object to reworking Insidious but that's actually not a bad Idea.
-
Actually there is no offering that interfered with spine chill and none that let's them know exactly where you are in the basement.
Myers can negate Spine Chill when he is T1, this is the only way to counter spine chill I think.
If you ran into the basement and ran into the locker this gives a notification to the killer.
Seems to me. You have a lot to learn.
-
Nah it needs a rework. There is no stat change you could possible make to it that would make killers run it except if it instakilled survivors in the basement.
A basement hook is basically a GG as it is. Killers generally won't waste a perk slot to enhance what is already a winning move.

I dnt quite understand what u mean man.
Yeah neither do I. Quick and Quiet is not an Exhaustion Perk no matter how you spin it.
-
I think everyone is on board with that.
How come your pink perk icons look so different.
-
That's probably a lag issue rather than actual cheating.
-
@kate_best_girl said:
Do you think its a good exhaustion perk at all? If it is good is it better than any other exhaustion perk (Discluding head on, adrenaline, and dead hard).
Sprint Burst used to be meta but to be honest I've always viewed it as a crap perk. Especially after the Exhaustion Nerf. I think it was good before the nerf, but post-nerf it hurts you more than helps you.
It just serves as a disincentive to run, which makes you a slow, immersed survivor who is just walking around the map until a killer shows up. It's a lousy perk. Lithe is far, far superior.
-
I still think Monstrous Shrine should be remade so you can gather bits of hair, fingerprints, blood, etc. from Survivors while they run around the map and put them in the basement hooks.
Then if by endgame they didn't bust the voodoo doll in the basement when they escape they instantly get teleported to the basement and die.
-
Well, I don't have a problem with that. This is the internet. When I post here on this board I wear two hats mainly. My "adult hat" and my "bi-partisan survivor main hat." And I am not ashamed of wearing either. Heh!
-
Yeah unless you're really, really bad at the game you will naturally just level up eventually if you play enough. There's a point where some level of skill is needed to weed out getting pips, but getting into purple also annoys me.
My "real" skill level as a survivor is around purple. This is the level that I am challenged and must put in a lot of effort to win and/or pip. Frankly I rather stay in green so I can goof off and have fun. But I level out of green a little too fast and without any real effort.
As for the game being a "rage inducer" I know BHVR doesn't want to design the game that way but you're right, a lot of us don't have as good control over our emotions, that includes me. I imagine if I get killer-stressed long enough I'd also hate it. I think I probably just don't play enough killer to be affected by it.

Give him some good outfits that give people incentive to play him!
That's backwards from a "love" ponit of view.
So you are saying you can only love Adam if he has outfits? That's not love isn't that just bribing someone to like you?
-
BHVR doesn't hate Adam. Survivors hate Adam.
If they played him more maybe he'd get more outfits.
-
Trapper is all about putting traps where survivors tend to go go. If you want to get good at Trapper I think the best way is to play Survivor.
Most survivors know where the "usual" trap placements are so get creative with the grass. Grass is your friend. So are hazy reagent offerings actually.
I don't pretend to play Trapper at a high level but I know what annoys me as Survivor at high levels. And that's traps that are in the places I least expect. Trapper unfortunately is a killer that requires a lot of map knowledge and survivor experience to succeed. You need to know where the survivors go to get them.
Also keep one trap on you at all times to close a loop when you are in a chase.

Yeah, I hear red ranks is stressful but I played before the patch and as a beginner killer I had a ton of purple and green rank survivors and a few red rank survivors too. Usually managed 1 or 2 sacrifices. I guess coming from a survivor side mindset I'm not too pressed about 4king. I just want my blood points and to level up my killer to unlock perks.
You actually have a point, and I doubt that I would ever get stressed playing as Killer. I just don't buy into the whole "Must get 4K!" mindset that every killer seems to suffer from, which makes them feel so stressed while playing. I let the illusion of "must escape!" go so long ago as Survivor.
I'd have to get into Red Rank Killer to test if it's true, but I can't imagine myself getting upset and stressed the way killers describe it. I've even run games where the survivors ran circles around me as Killer and smashed palletes into my face all game, wasn't stressful at all.
Sort of how killers can't imagine that being face-tunneled or Mori'd in under a minute is stressful.

Yep, I stopped enjoying killer pretty much the moment I got into purple ranks. That's when it went from sweat lodge to sweat factory, I'm up against red ranks more often than not, and even when I do well, it's just not that fun. It doesn't feel like it has anything to do with horror anymore, just about being the speediest, most meta dude possible.
This is actually precisely why I prefer to play in the low ranks. I do not want to be red rank at all.
A lot of people here tell you as Survivor to get into high ranks ASAP because you're just playing with useless potato teammates at low ranks. I couldn't disagree more.
Playing Survivor at high ranks is not fun. Not because you are losing. You can win a lot in high ranks. It's just that the matches last five minutes and you just did one gen and you're already opening the exit gates. It's either a complete stomp on your side or the other, it's not fun, it's just sweaty tryhards not really enjoying the game anymore.

I'm like this in reverse, survivor main trying out killer. So far I have only found one game truly stressful, when I got matched with a squad of flashlight warriors. I like to eat pallets especially early game. It is when they don't throw them for 3 or 4 loops that I get frustrated. Currently I am maining hag so looping isn't as much of a problem for me. I find killer more intense but less frustrating than being left on the damn first hook while everyone runs out the door.
Good on you, I do believe everyone should try both sides and there would be more understanding about the frustrations on both sides instead of finger-pointing.
I'm like this myself. To be honest killer is not stressful at all in the lower ranks. Since I don't play killer past Rank 15 I don't think we've really experienced what it means to be a stressed-out killer.
I find killer fun, I'd play it more if I the queues weren't so long. But I think I'm a survivor-main through and through. The game is just better for me as survivor, even with all the camping and tunneling and instadowns and moris.
-
I've always felt Hag was really strong. She suffers a little from tunnel vision; of all the killers she seems the least "aware" of what's going on around her, making her relatively easy to stealth.
But her power in my book is quite strong even at red ranks.
-
I don't mind dying. I'm long past the point where death is an issue.
It's great because it gives you that rush of grabbing a victory from the jaws of defeat.
-
I didn't really think much of it but while prestiging Steve it ended up in my build and I've actually been enjoying it. It doesn't work every game (since you're not last man standing every game) but it's a joy when it does. You can also really build around it by bringing Plunderer's and really go key fishing.
-
Oh yeah well if you are gonna prestige WGLF is necessary. I stopped using WGLF a long time ago because I already have 5 fully-prestiged survivors and 2 of them have all the perks.
But I was running WGLF for a long time at first. But I realized I was just killing my own enjoyment of the game, and WGLF teaches you some bad habits when you run it. My escape rate was abyssmally low when I was running WGLF, it got a lot better after I stopped running that perk. It gets you in the mindset of, "It's okay if I die I am gonna get more bloodpoints anyway!"
-
Scum who don't do a thing just waiting for teammates to die are a problem no matter what perks they use.
-
Survivor is loads of fun. Loads of frustration too. But of a different kind from killer.
You've only been through half of what the game, would be a shame if you lost steam now. And if you found Survivor to be more fun in general (it's really less stressful as long as you aren't frustrated by getting facecamped and tunneled all the time, which is a real issue) the first thing to remember is that Dying is Fun. Think of the game as a Rogue-Like. You're not supposed to survive most of the time.
Once you've gotten that out of the way, learn to focus on one of either two playstyles for now: either Looping or Stealthing.
Looping you're familiar with as Killer. Just do it in reverse. Learn the loops and how to run them and you'll go a long way as survivor. I personally don't find this very fun so I never got good at it. But your mileage may vary.
Stealthing is where the game is at for me. When stealthing I don't mean cowering like a coward in a corner. The most satisfying moments of this game are when you are right beside the killer and sneak right past him, crossing that very narrow line between life and death. They are very few and far between, but they are the ultimate joy.
As a stealth player you'll need to learn how to sneak around properly and how to juke. Your experience as a killer teaches you how killers think, so you'll better be able to predict and mindgame the killer to do your jukes and evasions.
The perks you'll be focusing on are different for both sides as well. In general, these are the perks you'll want to get:
Looper: Dead Hard, Balanced Landing, Lithe, Adrenaline
Stealth: Spine Chill, Urban Evasion, Fixated, Iron Will, Quick and Quiet
Perks Every Survivor Needs: Borrowed Time, Inner Strength, Decisive Strike, Bond

Thank you, for really driving home how bad it was! Have fun in the Fog!
Yeah, just because you are on the survivor-side doesn't mean you should ignore game balance. This game must be a give and take.
By itself it wasn't broken, but it synergizes too well with DS and Adrenaline along with instaheals.

That's not even lowest possible setting. You can only reach that level of non-fidelity by editing the INI files to lower the render resolution to the extreme.

no bud. I *literally* can't see him. this is what my game looks like. there isn't a shimmer for me.
If you are hacking your game it's nobody's fault but your own that you can't see him.
Everybody else can see Wraith just fine. His biggest benefit is his lack of Terror Radius and Stain, and his camping ability (he is 100% invisible when camping a hook or some other item) but if he is moving around he is very easy to see.
-
Yup exactly that. Happy people who see value in your offering will spend money to support you. It is really as simple as that.
Deceptive or unfair marketing practices are met with disdain and tight purse strings.
-
What he said.
No Mither is universally hailed as one of the worst perks, but I run it a lot. I like the perk (not because it gives you a challenge, but because it has benefits which no other perk has).
There are many ways to play this game, there is no objective best build.
-
Rank Rewards gives BHVR nothing.
Battlepass gives BHVR money.
Which do you think needs prioritizing?
(actually the correct answer is Rank Rewards: a healthier game means more happy customers willing to spend)
-
The Battlepass is clearly designed to get you to buy it once for $10, then make you spend more just to complete it.
Just as planned.
-
He is wrong, and there is no objectively best build, even though there are meta builds.
It's good build though and I have run that build many times myself.
But it is severely lacking in many aspects. It has no self-heal capability (mitigated a bit by Bond, but you're wasting time getting other people to heal you). And he has no means of dealing with Basement Hooks or camping. His only help in chases is Balanced Landing, which doesn't work on all maps. He has some juking potential but to be honest I juke better without Lightweight than with it.
-
That wasn't so long ago.
But what about it? It's good that it's gone. It was a legitimate issue that made the game bad, because Killers even at the highest levels had issues dealing with it. It was too strong.
Good riddance.
-
Because believe it or not, Killers are not supposed to be stealthier than Survivors.
This game was originally supposed to be a game of hide and seek. Survivors were supposed to hide from killers. When survivors are found killers chase them down and they die, because Killers are supposed to be better at the Chase.
Somewhere along the line that changed. Somewhere along the line, Survivors learned how to run the Chase better than Killers. And even with all the balance adjustments, the best Survivors can still run the Killer around a long time.
Strangely now the design and nature of the game has evolved to killers being:
- Stealthier than Survivors
- Killers being better at finding Survivors, and
- Survivors surviving by running the Killer around.
Wraith just hasn't quite caught up to that yet, and it seems BHVR still resists the idea of making Killers too stealthy. And with good reason.
Freddy was the ultimate symbol of this discrepancy in BHVR's design. Freddy was a killer who was:
- 100% stealthy
- 100% able to find survivors
- He was also the easiest Killer for a skilled Survivor to run around.
As you can see, BHVR reworked Freddy because this was not an ideal game state. The problem is that new survivors without skills cannot compete against a killer like this at all, whereas a skilled survivor can utterly destroy him.
So the Devs are trying to change the design the game has evolved into into something else that is more balanced for everyone.
Turning Wraith completely invisible takes a step back towards Old Freddy, and the Devs obviously do not want that.

* Fixated, Urban Evasion, Inner Strength and Spine Chill
or
* Iron Will, Urban Evasion, Bond, Inner Strength

I think by now Freddy is the one of the best killers in the game, he simply got all important powers of other good m1 killer's, he got map pressure, loop counters, mindgame potential, and stealth potential. Is Freddy is number 5 in killer tier list? In my opinion - yes, what is yours?
What stealth potential does Freddy have? Did I miss something?
What makes Freddy good IMO is teleport (which gives map pressure) and his slowdown addons to slow the game down.
To be honest I like the new Freddy more, both as killer and as survivor.
The only thing I don't like about Freddy is my computer can't handle him; Dreamworld severely reduced my framerates.
-
Well, my point is if the survivors got outskilled, then they couldn't have prevented the strat. It's a survivor skill issue, but it's not necessarily the survivor's mistake because in this sense it's beyond their ability to prevent it from happening. They can be fully aware of what the killer is trying to do, but are just powerless to prevent it.

I always wanted to run Unbreakable and Flip Flop. I saved up to level Ash before he came out. But in the end, it's just not practical and that's a big problem.
It isn't but you run that build to have fun, not because it's practical. You should also run Tenacity with it. Last perk should be either Saboteur, Boil Over or DS. Saboteur is preferable and bring a toolbox, break hooks to increase your chances of wiggling out. DS is good to present a conundrum to the killer. Do I pick him up or do I leave him on the ground to get back up? Boil Over is mostly useless but sometime it really helps the wiggle build.
