  • not quite. "it breaks many mechanics of the game, therefore it needs to be changed" would be more fitting.

also, if thats gonna be your argumentation from here on out, i doubt i'll continue this conversation.

  • Spirit.

i can not freakin handle this passive phasing xD

  • a great gimmicky perk for fun times!

however, i would like the perk to be recharging faster, the closer you are to the killer while unseen (only while in the TR ofcourse, so it wont charge when an invisible wraith is passing by), similar to the doctors madness that increases faster, the closer you are to him.

  • let me just get my bow and arrow and we can start :D

Yes yes, make everything 115% and skins like survivors.

Stating there is no counterplay comes from people with 0 knowledge on the killer. Basekit is fine, was fine.

i've been kinda waiting for this comment tbh... xD

you're gonna be mindblown when i tell you i'm a killermain xD

That's a very weak argument. Pallets are not a defense against the nurse. If she was nerfed because she couldn't be 1v1 then DBD is doomed. Remember....SWF needs killers if they want to play. Nerfing a viable killer and making her totally unfun while SWF has a blast is going to mean survivors better have a subscription to netflix.

    if you say so fam.

i wont get behind the logic of "gamebreaking things are fair cause the other side also has gamebreaking things" though. imo both need to be fixed, which would include nurse.

  • basically, a huge add on rework. you can look up the specific add ons with their new powers here: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/93557/designer-notes-nurse-changes#latest

other than that, there now is a 3 second recharge time needed for blinks to reappear after blinking. the timer will start as soon as you enter fatigue and be stopped as soon as you charge a new blink. you can save up to 2 blinks, as usual.

nothing big, though some like to act like they completely gutted her.

  • lets be honest, 99.95% of survivors run at least one exhaustion perk for chases.

i dont think you really need it, though you are at a clear disadvantage without one.

personally i am not running any chase extending exhaustion perks (i do run Adrenaline, but only due to the lack of healing perks i have and i dont wanna use selfcare) and it surely is a lot harder.

if i run a build for tryharding / playing a little more risky, i usually always equip one.

  • i think it does what it is supposed to do very well.

not all perks need to be super meta perks to be in a good spot, sometimes there are just those gimmicky ones, which i would say Iron Grasp is a part of.

like you dont need to run it, however combined with Agitation and Mad Grit you can have quite a fun time with it.

so, according to the responses he got it was a threat about nerfing noed, which got shut down rather harsh by the community.

  • apparently someone didnt like the answers he got...

    @MandyTalk can we close this?

  • i usually always say "gg" in end chat, no matter weather i lost or won.

however, if they just BMed me all the time and i had literally no fun the entire game, i wont. thats a rare case, however if, lets say 5 gens get done in like <4 minutes, there isnt really a game that could have been good - there barely was any. same goes if they just go out of their way to annoy me, that wasnt a good game, that was pure annoyance. i'm not BMing them, so why do they feel the need to BM me?

despite that, 95% of my games i say "gg".

Those new players get to high ranks eventually and without understanding nurse they have no idea how to juke one because they are addicted to pallets.

Isn't genrushing the objective? You stated you could stand a chance if you genrushed one. When it's not a nurse, survivors can goof off and still win? What is also the difference in genrushing a killer and a nurse killrushing the survivors? A dev posted here one time that trapper had the same killrate as nurse at rank 1. I don't think the nurse nerf was properly justified. I haven't heard a good argument yet.

and you wont hear any "good" argument when you keep ignoring them away.

    here is a good argument:

nurses base power allows her to break any mechanics survivors should have during chases to avoid the killer and therefore makes it impossible to escape her.

as i have said before, i wont go into the whole debate of objective times here. that is a whole different topic.

  • if you feel bored and want something entirely new, i'd recommend you the Spark Of Madness chapter.

personally i find the killer to be extremely fun and refreshing, considering you can do so much with him. his Add Ons completely change the way he can be played and while he is certainly not the best killer, i find him to be very unique, allowing for many, many different playstyles. His perks are also useful (Overwhelming Presence is trash, Overcharge is kinda usefull (in low ranks very usefull) and Monitor And Abuse is just great).

back in the day, when i had a huge burnout from the game, this chapter was literally what brought me back into it.

or, if you dislike Doctor, i would recommend you to purchase Ghostface. while he certainly does not provide you with as many possible playstyles as Doc does, he does allow you to mindgame very efficiently, so if you like mindgames, he is your man. His perks though... Furtive Chase is trash, Thrilling Tremors is okay and I'm All Ears is also just okay. nothing really good here.

  • i love being able to be in a horror movie - as the killer!

  • right now, purple. rank 6.

honestly, i dont give a damn about my rank anymore. i still get matched with rank 1 and 2s all the time, so... not really a difference between this rank and rank 2 or 1 tbh...

  • for Demogorgon i would always recommend you to use Save The Best For Last, as his shred attack will not make you lose any tokens, so you can keep them rather easily.

another good recommendation would be Discordance and Pop Goes The Weasel, as the first provides you with map knowledge of a gen being repaired and the second allows you to immediately regress said gen by a lot after hooking someone. this works really good with your portals, as you will be able to get to said gen very fast, if you made a setup there.

for the last perk, i'd say use BBQ. double points are neat and the aura reading can, combined with your portals, be very usefull.

you could also go for additional gen slowers like Dying Light or Ruin, if you dont want BBQ.

    TL;DR: STBFL + Discordance + PGTW + BBQ

  • honestly, i would like that.

that would also mean, that if not many DCed like 10+ times, those who did will wait very long for their lobbies for a week, which imo would be justified and might get them to rethink their life choices.

  • i stopped playing for rank a while ago, though stil managed to get rank 2 last season.

honestly, i mostly play whoever i find to be fun (a lot of Trapper lately), though i feel like there needs to be done something about the gen times. like, currently i'm ~rank 6 and just had a game where they did 4 gens in under 3 minutes, which is just really frustrating (it was a big map (Suffocation Pot, so also some good amounts of loops) so it took me longer to get from A to B plus i've been in a chase with someone. took down 3 pallets and hooked him when the 4th gen popped)

  • @martin27 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/789482#Comment_789482

Yes they did, there was no giant outcry about the nurse till recently when a whole bunch of new players joined that whined and moan rather then learn to play the game.

its been said for years now that nurse is too strong - the devs themselves said that at some point they wanted to nerf her power (that was around the time where survivors were able to pallet stun a nurse mid blink - a nerf that was too much and therefore never made it through).

anyone who looks into her power themselves will come to that conclusion rather sooner than later. there wasnt a huge outcry, yes - however the dev stats show how broken she is. unless you are only committing to genrush her you literally wont stand a chance against her.

now, regarding your "new players" argument... the dev stats also show that she has one of the lowest kill rate in low ranks. with other words, if one complains, its going to be high rank players who have seen good nurses in action. low ranks would not complain about her and call her "perfectly balanced", just because they havent even seen her potential yet.

  • @Endstille said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/789474#Comment_789474

No no. They gave in to the outcry of boosted survivors who can not loop a nurse for 5 gens.

    sure

  • @martin27 said:

Multiple killers can do that, just not as well as the nurse can. The nurse is the slowest killer and gets fatigued giving survivors plenty of opportunity to escape.

You are not the developer you don't get to decide if something is broken purely because that's your opinion.

    you're right, i am not a dev.

the devs would be the ones that decided it was too strong and therefore nerfed it.

  • @MeatBycicle said:

In very low rank most survivors are really bad, especially against killers who use tools and traps such as hag and trapper.

They don't understand that your ability is to teleport back to a trap activated. If that so happens to be at a hook so be it. They just see it as "camping", when in reality it's their fault for not clearing the trap ahead of time, or looking out for it.

Hell, they can even use a flashlight on it to destroy it.

    not only low ranks...

ive once been told i was a "lagswitcher" for playing spirit, as she would "lag around all the time" (passive phasing / in general yamaokas haunting). that was in red ranks.

i told them to take a closer look at my power and left the chat xD

I'm curious about what add-ons those high-rank high-killrate Nurses were running. Or were they not running add-ons? That seems weird, high rank killers not running add-ons, but that's the only explanation I could see for why they're nerfing the Nurse's base kit: the high rank Nurses were slaughtering survivors without running add-ons.

    usually none.

good nurses usually believe that add ons will screw over your muscle memory of how far you are going to blink, so to avoid that they dont run add ons.

thats why the basekit received nerfs, as it was just too strong in itself.

  • @martin27 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/788077#Comment_788077

Your whole argument for being broken is that you dont like how the nurses power works therefore it's broken.

my argument is, that her power allows her to ignore any of the games mechanics that are ment to allow survivors to escape from a killer in chases, making it basically impossible to escape good nurses.

that is pretty much the definition of being "broken".

  • @Sluzzy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/788077#Comment_788077

You basically said it is perfectly OK for those 1 out of 10 SWF teams to be impossible to beat. What if 9 out of 10 nurses might also be sub-optimal which the devs have mentioned she has the lowest killrate until high rank? This nerf is targeted to those that spent hours practicing. Those few nurses, maybe 1 out of 10 stood the tiny, tiny chance against those SWF teams in question. Nerfing the high potential of one side without even considering the other side is illogical.

please read the comment again, i did not say that.

however, weather survivors are perfectly balanced or not (which they are not, they are still the powerrole) is a whole different topic and since we are talking about nurse here, i tried to stay focussed on nurse and not drift of in the realms of "is this game perfectly balanced or not".

also, yes. she has a ow kill rate in low ranks. this is because she is very hard to play and a freakin 3 second delay to her power will not make her unplayable. and have you read the part where he said that in high ranks she is basically unstoppable? cause after you master her, you win 9 out of 10 games with ease, even in high ranks.

i also believe its the community that continuously yells at the devs to stop balancing the game for low ranks, as high rank gameplay would then be completely broken, am i right? so why is your argument that she has a low kill rate in low ranks? killers in general have a much higher kill rate in low ranks compared to high ranks, does that mean killers are OP?

the nerf will not even affect good nurses. again: its a 3 second delay AFTER her blinks. good nurses will still catch people within mere seconds.

and i feel like i am repeating mysef here over and over again:

the devs are not biased towards one side. they didnt "just nerf one side without taking the other one into consideration". first of all, you did see the nerf towards survivors and buffs for killers that came with the exact same update, right? on top of that, since we are directly referring to SWF here, do you have and idea how hard it is to nerf that? you would have to provide nerfs for SWF teams without literally breaking the game for solo survivors. in order for them to be properly able to balance this game out, they would need to give survivors some huge buffs to bring them all on SWF level, which i am pretty sure you would dislike aswell.

  • i hate going against spirit tbh.

not because i think "SpIrEh Op PlEz NeRf", but because i cant handle her passive phasing...

i always get cought by that xD

for survivor, i honestly just dodge if i see one with a map and one with a key. they are obviously SWF and want to get their ez pz killer escape. that or too many toolboxes.

i in general just hate survivors that want the game to be over within 5 minutes. like, where is the fun in that? congrats you won, now be stuck in lobby queue for longer than you played again. great. whats the point in playing this game in the first place then?

just had a team yesterday that did 4 gens in less than 3 minutes. like, seriously where is the fun in that? most of them hadnt even seen me at that point! why do you play the game if all you do is hold M1 on a gen and then leave over and over and over again...

(ye im still a bit salty bout that one - but hey, objective times are what they are. didnt stand a chance from the beginning)

  • @Sluzzy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/786902#Comment_786902

Those few seconds adds up quickly against a coordinated team genrushing. When you hook someone and see all 3 on a gen but now you can't get there because you are limited with your map pressure then the new nurse, if they don't change her back, will have to camp and secure kills. Addons were trashed. I can't wait to use the one that makes someone scream at red rank. And a nurse doesn't want to use an addon that takes her power away. Imagine if huntress had an addon that prevented her from using hatchets if she actually hit someone? UR that prevents blinking through walls, meanwhile Huntress has an insta-down UR, Clown has an insta-down UR, Billy has all useful addons, Spirit has all addons that directly help her power, and Myers can actually kill on the spot, etc. If she isn't dead, they are trying to kill her and only survivors are happy about it.

i think we both know how ridiculous the argument "you will lose against a perfectly coordinated 4 man team with the strongest perks and items" is - that applies to everyone, including old nurse.

again: it takes you 3 seconds longer to catch someone, so instead of catching a survivor within 12 seconds, you'll spend 15 seconds now. huge.

she is still easily able to catch survivors 10 times faster than a Wraith could - and ppl still play Wraith in high ranks pretty efficiently i'd like to add.

not every team, heck not even 1 out of 10 teams is even near as good as you described them. you will still dominate ~9 out of 10 games with ease, there is no reason why that shouldnt be the case. and taking games as an example where literally no one stands a chance against is just ridiculous. this should be used as an argument to increase objective times and not to say killer XY is too weak.

for her add ons, hey you can actually use them now without completely screwing over your muscle memory. they are gimmicky and fun to use, so overall a nice improvement over the old ones.

i do agree that her red add ons are too weak though. like, remove 1 blink to get 105% mms and add 1 blink but not being able to blink through walls is... questionable. at best.

and no. devs are not "trying to kill her" and "only survivors are happy about it". devs are not biased towards one side. they rework all the OP stuff - which includes nurse. also, since you seem to allude to "only survivors being happy about that", i am a killer main and yet here i am, defending the nerf, because i look at the overall games health and not only on one side. i am not saying their timing is perfect, i do believe the big nerfs should only come after survivors are in a fair place and killers in general stand a good chance against them, but the nurse nerfs are certainly needed in the long run.

"good nurses will still dominate their games, they will still catch survivors within a couple of seconds and there will still be very little survivors can actually do against this."

I've never met a Nurse like this on PS4.

I know, I know, no one cares, it's about how she is on PC. It's just unfortunate how little I see her on PS4, and how it's pretty obvious they're only doing it for a Daily Ritual when I do see one.

tbh, thats mainly due to how the controls work on PS4.

if you were to plug in a mouse and keyboard to your PS4, she suddenly becomes very viable - though you still need to learn her ofc.

on the other hand, if you were to plug in a controller to your PC, she suddenly becomes unviable again.

its not like the killer would work any different on both plattforms afterall, so we gtta be talking about her potential here, which would mean look at what can be done by her. she has the exact same power both on PC and PS4, though the controls are different, making the only difference here.

she is, even on PS4, the best killer in the game (on paper) - its just a lot harder to play her on console.

Probably to see how it is, but to play it over the PC or console addition? No...

nono, i wasnt referring to the mobile version of DbD, i ment the KYF mode in general.

while the mobile version probaply wont be having that many players anyway and KYF in general is a rather rarely touched mode, i doubt there woulbe be many - if any - players playing it.

  • @Sluzzy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/784337#Comment_784337

"Nurse and Spirit are too OP" translates to "I suck at survivor because all I know how to do is pallet loop"

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/784535#Comment_784535

The counter to that is to never stop sprinting, sounds fair to some people. Since that's the survivor meta, there is no surprize the devs nerfed her so all survivors have to do is "continue their meta"

    seriously?

if "just dont stop running" would have been the counterplay to her, do you honestly think she would be considered the best killer in the game?

just because she has a base movement speed of 95% does not mean she could be outrun. her blinks allow her for insane map pressure and chase ability and good nurses could basically not be beaten.

please dont act like nurse wouldnt be too strong - because she is this one killer in this game that actually is.

to balance her out they eigther need to nerf her chase / map pressure ability - which they just did (she's still too strong, though she should stay this way until the game itself is better balanced) or buff stealth play so immense that its a viable straetgy, which would kinda suck for other killers, so they went with the first option.

anyone who says "omg they killed her", please look at those "nerf" once more. she literally has to wait 3 seconds before being able to doubleblink again, thats it. good nurses will still dominate their games, they will still catch survivors within a couple of seconds and there will still be very little survivors can actually do against this.

oh and she now has some nice and viable add ons.

  • since it is on a timer, you are fine to do so.

the only time you are not allowed to bodyblock them would be when there is no timer to stop this and you dont intend to let them go. e.g. you find someone in early game and then proceed to bodyblock them until the game is over / they DC.

  • lets fight a killer wasting 2 minutes of your time by wasting 6 minutes of both of your time.

    great idea!

or you just equip unbreakable and stand back up yourself...

  • nurse can ignore any defenses Survivors have by default. this is what makes her too strong - which is still the case with current nurse btw, there is just a 3 second delay between your doubleblinks now.

this alone makes her stronger than she should be.

  • her basekit war and is broken. i dont see how anyone would be able to deny that, honestly...

but lets just turn the whole thing around:

the nurse nerf wasnt even that harsh, why are y'all complaining?

  • will anyone play it?

  • depends on the player, honestly.

though i think generally there are more things a killer can "do wrong" which the survivors will happily point out to them, so they seem like the more entiteled side.

A depip would be unfortunate, but would likely be more indicative of an oversight in the emblem system (things like one shot downs only counting for chaser once). A safety pip would be expected, though. You did draw, after all. You didn't win or lose, so you probably shouldn't be pipping from that. You'd need to perform better than expected to pip.

There's still some issues we need to iron out first, we're still working on them, we're still trying to get it out as soon as possible. I'm sorry if that's disappointing to you, but beating a dead horse won't fix it.

yeah, people need to leave Moris alone...

like... so many dumb requirements for an aspect of the power you in general rarely use!

    why?

pls change this at some point, devs xD

  • thanks :D

in case you want to rebuild it, the pieces are:

    • Chuckles (Ultra Rare Mask - not available ingame)
    • Underground Prptection (Very Rare Body - 7200 shards)
    • Jacked Cleaver (Event Weapon - 400 auric cells / halloween event currency)

if you dont own Chuckles, dont worry, here some things that i think can fit very well too:

    • Rogi (Uncommon Trapper Mask - DLC item)
    • Redox Eyes (Rare Trapper Mask - 4500 shards)
    • Pointed Smile (Event Trapper Mask - 400 auric cells / halloween event currency)

  • you certainly dont have to camp / tunnel in order to win games, though getting rid of one early on is, i'll have to admit that, the easiest way to go.

in the end its all about how fast you can end chases.

mindgames are a huge factor of the game in high ranks and you wont be able to win without those.

the most basic one would be the double back, where you pretend to go in one direction and then moonwalk in the other. with this you can sometimes get them to vault a pallet / window right into you / run head on into your blade.

there are many more, though in the end its just adapting to how the survivors play and then getting inside their head, predicting their next steps to cut them off.

  • i am surprised no one has mentioned the single strongest perk build they have yet:

    1) Inner Strength

    2) Selfcare

    3) Solidarity
