  • 1) Freddy - the only killer who manages to put me asleep ingame and irl.

    2) Hag - i HATE how her phantoms force my camera to look at them, which always screws up my movement. also being on a hook with at least 7 traps around you isnt too enjoyable either.

    3) Spirit - i had to decide whether i'd put the chase cheeser or the guessing girl up here, and ultimately decided to go for Spirit, just because of Stridor. that just makes anything you attempt against her feel pointless. a very close 4th place is going to go to Pyramid Head though. his constant power faking around loops is still super boring.

  • tunneling imo is when the killer drops anything they were currently doing, return to the hook and chase down the previously unhooked survivor, ignoring away anyone else, even if they are just as, if not even more, vulnerable than said unhooked person.

in short: screw everything else and ruin this one persons game, then wonder how they did 4 gens already and complain about genrush.

  • Trapper should just start out with all traps in hand and have the luck aspect of escaping a trap removed, changed into a clear number of escapes that feels good for both sides (4 or 5 imo).

Wraith should have his windstorm add on basekit.

Myers should stalk a lot faster while in tier 1.

Pig should receive an add on overhaul with more add ons affecting her main power - the dash.

Clown should lose the slowdown when changing bottles.

Legions FF time and recovery speed should be increased, aswell as them no longer losing 50% of their power gauge when hitting a normal attack and no longer emptying the power gauge uppon missing a hit in frenzy (still get kicked out of their power though).

Demodoggo should have Rat Liver basekit and receive an add on overhaul with more add ons affecting his main power - the shred ability

Twins i have no idea. but they could definitely do with a buff.

those are my suggestions to increase the playability of certain, currently underperforming killers.

  • tier list based on teachable perks.

    same colour = same ranking

Killer Tier List (based on Teachables).png

  • look around me to judge where my spawn location was and try to pinpoint possible survivor spawn locations.

i then travel there and chase whoever i find, during the travel time i try to look at the tiles in the area and how the survivors might use them / how i could counteract said tile usage / when to drop chases.

as survivor i too am going to take a little look at my surroundings and try to see who the killer is, aswell as their current location. then i go on gens, where i immediately check for ruin, then either go on a Hex hunt or do the gen, when i know the killer is occupied far away.

To be fair to killers that do play them..... they have to be played that way in order to stand a chance to win.

they are a very poorly thought out killer. Cool concept (whole conjoined twins thing) but poorly designed for the game. Total disconnect between the “drawing board” and actual gameplay at bhvr

yeah i know its not necessarily the players fault they play that way.

its a flaw in their base design that they kind of have to be played like that.

the complaint wasnt really directed at the players, but more at the general playstyle this killer encourages. its just so boring getting proxycamped by charlotte / victor, knowing they have all the map pressure they need with the other one and can still come back and tunnel me down as soon as i get unhooked.

  • jtbk5iub3qp21.jpg

    shirtless clown when?

  • i dont play them.

actually, when i came to the point where i had to decide who to max out next, Hag, Nurse or Twins, i actually went and started learning Nurse instead of them.

played against them like twice now.

they arent really a popular killer choice - and judging by how the ones i played against played im not too sad about that.

  • his overheat should work like Bubbas.

holding down the power button fills it up, stopping to press it should stop it and putting away the chainsaw / entering a chainsaw sprint should immediately reset it.

that way we dont get punished for using our chainsaw, while we also dont allow billy to facecamp hooks with a 99% chainsaw / feather forever around loops.

  • top 3:

    • Deathslinger - has unique chase mechanics and is very fun to play.
    • Doctor - unique chase mechanics and overall a very creative ability. i especially like how his Add Ons affect his power.
    • Oni - strong and powerfull ability and great overall character and audio design.

    bottom 3:

    • Hillbilly - the nerf kinda sucked the fun out for me. i hate the overheat mechanic and i just dont enjoy playing him anymore
    • Hag - boring
    • Freddy - boring

The best buff to shadowborn is making it basekit.

Its weird that this kinda applies to all wraith perks.

    predator basekit?

    hell no! xD

  • i havent tried it out myself yet (and im nowhere near good enough as a clown to really talk about high level clown strats tbh), but the way i would attempt to use it was by throwing a Afterpiece Tonic Bottle at the survivor, then an Afterpiece Antidote (which is inactive when it hits them) and them come into contact with it once i reach the survivors location.

so i'd use the inactive periode of it to throw it at the survivor and then use the speedboost myself once i reach their position, combined with the slowdown from a well placed tonic.

in theory that way the survivor shouldnt be able to get a benefit from it (without waiting inside the gas, which once again lets me catch up), while i could just zoom after them and catch up very quickly.

again, i dont know how that theory holds up in practise, but i think thats the way they intended it to be used?

  • i think you can play a vast majority of killers without Add Ons and still do well with them.

the only ones that actually need them from the top of my head would be Trapper (bags), Wraith (Windstorm), Clown (faster reload speed / additional bottles) and Demogorgon (Rat Liver / Meows Guts).

id say the best one of the not Add On reliant killers would be Nurse, Oni and Spirit.

these three actually have powers so strong that you are not only able to do well with them without Add Ons, adding those on top can even be overkill (on someone who mastered said killer).

  • pretty sure that DbD Mobile used a very similar UI and got a lot of praise for it, so they decided to make a similar one for the PC / Console version aswell.

too bad they didnt seem to understand that just because something works fine on mobile, doesnt mean it would be a good idea to have that on the PC / Console version aswell.

and now we're gonna be stuck with this UI that is, at least in my honest opinion, vastly inferior to the one we've had all this time.

  • i dont think Legion is in such a bad spot tbh.

they are definitely not top tier (not even close), but they are still a viable killer choice.

if i had to change sthg on them, i'd make the brown recharge rate extension add on and duration extension add on basekit, remove the power penality you get for hitting a normal attack and make missing a frenzy attack no longer deplete your frenzy bar (still kicks you out of frenzy tho). and maybe have the fatigue reduced to 3 seconds instead of 4.

small number buffs and a reduction of the penalities they have is really all they need imo.

yes...... my bad i already edited the post. thanks for correcting ive just had enough of the bug, that pisses me off.

    no worries ^^

i just got a little confused when i read about the tractor on MacMillain xD

btw, have you made a bugreport about this in the bugreport section already / checked whether its been reported already?

because in case it has not, the best thing to do would be to make a ticket there in order to draw the devs attention to it.

  • are you sure the map you're talking about is MacMillain?

cause thats the mining company map - and i dont think there are any vehicles on these maps.

tractors would be on Coldwind Farm, which is the farm map with the corn fields - could it be you are referring to this one instead?

  • i dont think i do.

though i often tend to miss my attacks after using my power as Spirit or Nurse.

  • i think its interesting.

opens up some more gameplay possibilities - how strong its actually going to be is something we'll see when the PTB drops i'd say.

That looks good but functionally having the actual portraits of survivors is better. With this it would be very hard to tell from a glance what survivor it is

honestly, as much as i like it visually, they need to do something else for their injured state.

a bright blinking picture is going to be extremely distracting.

and with survivor portraits they have a little problem here:

its very easy to mess it up and make it very hard to determine who is injured and who isnt or they make it way too prominent, as the current version is.

the old UI didnt have that issue, due to the very different pictures that were used for a players status, so they didnt have to somehow differentiate them from one another by adding animations to them.

honestly, overall i think the UI changes are bad.

the old HUD had no problems and everyone liked it. it was compact, not too screen covering and not too distracting (those are my main 3 problems with the new one btw)

sadly it seems like they are about to throw out an perfectly fine system for a new one that is vastly inferior to it, for a reasoning that i, as of right now, can not get behind.

  • you can not get an Iridescent Devout Emblem without getting 4 kills.

the hook counter only comes into play when you did get 4 kills, as the game then looks whether you got them by repeatedly hooking survivors, or if they all died on 1st hook (e.g. due to camping or hard slugging).

Edit: nvm i misunderstood the question.

im still gonna leave it here though, as it may interest some.

  • my main problem with it was that it just did too much.

i mean, the main counter to Undying respawn mechanic was to just do Dull Totems - yet Undying kept revealing anyone that got close to a totem (any totem - including Hexes. so it also defended itself) and therefore made it near impossible for solo survivors (who, unlike SWF, have no way to coordinate their actions) to cleanse the totems.

and even, if they eventually got them, thanks to the constant aura reveal and therefore resulting killer interruptions, the killer managed to get so many hooks in that the game is already lost.

and if anyone ignored totems and just did gens, Tinkerer did the same to them aswell. and then Ruin took care of all the progress they have made.

pretty much the lose - lose situation many killers love to complain about for DS Unbreakable.

  • i have 3 key complaints with it:

    1) by scattering the HUD all over my screen they make it harder for me to gather ingame informations that i can get with a single look currently.

    2) i fear that the scattered HUD is going to cover up too much of my screen. currently the HUD leaves ~the top two third of my screen completely free, which is what i mainly use for gameplay purposes (excluding the Hex HUD and the EGC timer). by scattering it all across the edges of my screen i fear they are going to reduce my vision enough to miss potentially important information. a slight movement in the corner of my eye, a crow taking off in the distance, etc.

    3) this is more speculation, as i havent seen it entirely in action yet, but should they really have updated the survivors injured status with a red blinking portrait of said survivor, that is going to be very distracting throughout the trial. just imagine injuring all 4 and suddenly you have 4 bright, red blinking dots on the top left of your screen (which i do plan on using for gameplay purposes) that i cant get rid of.

and none of these complaints are present with the current HUD.

so basically they switch out a perfectly fine HUD that no one had any issues with for one that is, at least in my (and many others) opinion, a much inferior version of it that therefore looks a bit cleaner.

they should just have improved the current HUD we have. none of the changes that were announced so far require any of the drastic HUD changes they did.

also it just looks like a mobile game. im sorry, but it does.

  • oh my god i love it.

but honestly, the only way i could imagine how we can keep the old HUD would be by the devs adding an option that allows us to switch between HUDs ingame.

as much as i dislike it, the new HUD has already been developed, so they put a lot of time, effort and money into it already, which means they are extremely unlikely to ditch it again.

its a lot like the Trappers "new" trap set animation. that too made it through even though a vast majority of people preferred the old one.

  • @Yatol said:

    what is the change?

in addition to what @Zeus said, the aura reveal is now limited to Dull Totems aswell.

  • i always wanted the Killer to have some sort of nightvision, to make maps brighter on their screen, so its easier for them to see.

that way we would make the killer experience a lot better on those maps, while keeping the atmosphere for survivors.

and it would also make sense, given that the killers are creatures that live in the dark, they are used to it.

the mechanics for it would also not be new, as old Shadowborn did exactly that.

the only downside is, that they'd have to put more work into the maps lighting (but at only two lighting options that should be manageable i think).

  • its an easy concept.

if you want to be heard by the devs, provide constructive feedback.

tell them why you think something is too strong / weak and make suggestions on how to change it.

or make a post yelling at them without providing any form of constructive feedback and / or suggestions, wonder why you are being ignored and then complain that they wouldnt listen to their community.

the later gives more upvotes though.

We were just 3 survivors running from one gen to the next one. Not exactly coordinated, but still quick.

    good for you

Survivor main here. Just had a match where we rushed gens (i played solo). Oni got 2 hooks before all gens were completed.

He had Ruin up, didn´t even notice it.

thats mostly on the killer for not applying map pressure then.

unless you were a coordinated genrush group, which i doubt, given you were solo (maybe the other 3 tho).

  • as a former Trapper main, they should just have made it a set value.

all i wanted for his traps was to be more consistent, yet they apparently did all they could to keep the RNG in them ._.

  • Killermain here.

Undying was busted and needed nerfs - and you can play the game just fine without it.

and nerfing an overpowered perk isnt exactly "shredding the killer community apart"... especially when we got 3 killer buffs in return, as it has been pointed out already by multiple others.

and before anyone comes at me with that stupid argument:

yes survivors too have overpowered perks. i am aware of that. but no, this does not mean Undying was fine and didnt need the nerfs.

if anything, that just means we have more stuff to nerf in the future.

  • i got one.

not that i'd ever run it, but i got one.

That's fair, I suppose. Personally, Bloodhound isn't all that great. It basically needs Sloppy just for the Hemmorage it gives. While it can be a very accurate from of tracking, I prefer others. Nurses gives the exact location and has a similar prerequisite of them needing to be injured.

I actually didn't know that about Shadowborn.

I'm hoping with the next, next Mid-chapter when they focus on Twin's they'll actually make their perks more useful. IMO Oppression just needs a shorter cooldown and it'd be a pretty solid perk. Coup De Grace should be small, permanent increases and Hoarder is just a terrible perk. The only way it could be better is if it maybe slowed down the unlocking of chests too.

a reduced cooldown or it affecting all gens - both would work perfectly fine and both would make the perk a LOT better than it currently is.

Hoarder i too think isnt really able to do a lot, even if they buff it.

your Coup De Grace idea is very interesting though. it would work a lot like Fire Up that way and, depending on the values it would receive, could actually jump up to being an amazing perk. imagine the vaules being 1/2/3% - after 5 completed generators this would permanently increase your lunge by up to 15%, that would be insanely strong (probaply a 5 Point score with that).

i think its gonna be more likely that they'll pull a Gear Head on us and just leave it in the gutted state they put it in... honestly, all the Perk needs to jump from 0 to 3 Points imo is them reversing the nerf after the PTB, 4 Points if you'd only lose a stack uppon a succesfull hit.

The Asylum looks awesome but I really do hope The Game gets the update sooner (assuming they're not at the same time as BHVR likes to make these "Choose one" posts and then do both anyway).

The Game (especially areas in the basement is downright unplayable as a killer because you can't see anything down there. You get a dark clothed survivor just hiding in the corner, there's a decent chance they're going to get away with it unless you specifically and meticulously check every single dark area. The new map looks considerably brighter, which would be a huge plus for that map.

i really do hope the Graphical Update will make the maps downstairs section a lot brighter.

but knowing every single one of the reworks so far, i guess they will just make it three times darker...

  • @NomiNomad said:

I'm honestly surprised Wraith isn't in D-Tier. I love Wraith, but his teachable aren't amazing. Now that I think about it, I suppose he's there for Shadowborn. Still, I'd say Oppression is far better than Bloodhound or Predator.

yeah, Wraith is quite disappointing in terms of Teachables.

actually, the 6 Points he scored were a combination of Bloodhound and Shadowborn being rated with 3 Points each, while Predator just ended up with 0 Points.

i could understand if anyone would want to move Bloodhound down by one though (into "only usable in certain combinations") - i just felt like the Perk itself isnt entirely useless / bad when run by itself, its just not a good perk either. Tracking wise there are many much better alternatives - but it does its job.

and if you're wondering, the 3 Points for Shadowborn are so low due to the downside of it making flashlight blinds from weird angles easier on you (Flashlights are based on the killers FoV, so increasing said FoV also increases the area survivors need to aim to in order to blind you).

Oppression, the only one of the Twins perks that even scored any points, only got away with a 3 Point ranking aswell, surprisingly enough.

I just feel like the Perks restrictions are way too high for what it actually does, the random selection of 3 gens and the lengthy cooldown in particular.

Its a Perk where i wouldnt have any trouble moving it up by one, if one of these downsides was reduced. For example, if it would affect every gen instead of 3 random generators it would easily get the 4 Points - currently however i feel like, especially due to the restrictions in place, it is very medicore.

  • @GannTM said:

Plague is in a tier by herself when it comes to teachables. Also, imo the clown has better teachables than nurse.

yeah Plague easily dominated this list. she would have been S Tier had Dark Devotion been a tad better, but currently i could only give it a 3 Point rating, which combined with 4 Points on Corrupt Intervention and 5 Points on Infectious Fright "only" got her to the highest possible score of A Tier.

Clown and Nurse were actually pretty balanced in terms of teachables. both A Nurses Calling and Pop Goes The Weasel scored a solide 5, Thanatophobia and Bamboozle both scored a 4 aswell. The Clowns downfall on here was Coulrophobia, which scored 0 Points, while the Nurses Stridor could score 2 Points, due to its usability when combined with Spirit.

still, he managed to get a good 3rd place.

  • the luck mechanic.

why the f are Trappers traps affected by the luck mechanic???

  • Trapper.

at some point i got tired of asking and waiting for buffs, so i stopped playing him.

  • BBQ is only really useful on high map pressure killers.

everyone else just runs it for the BP.

Lisa isn't a Survivor. Until they give legendary skins their own nameplate on the campfire screen and at least one exclusive perk to unlock. It's just a skin and means nothing towards the actual survivor Cheryl

but isnt the whole point of legendary skins to change the character you play?

Trapper changes to Krampus, Oni to the Minotaurus and Cheryl changes to Lisa - gameplay wise they are still the same ofc, but canonically they are different people.

  • wasnt Lisa Garland a nurse?

that would make it 1 - 1, unless we count Doctor as a "Healthcare worker" - which he really wasnt. i dont think he ever even made his Doctor title, its just a nickname he got from the captives he tortured to death...

  • no?

thats literally just asking for a free escape at that point...

  • now i dunno if you did the "left (best) to right (worst)" kind of thing in your tiers, so im just going to judge each killer individually on the tier you put them into.

also im going to count the "S for scrub" and "S" Tiers as the same tier if thats okay with you.

    1) Nurse - i fully agree on her placement in S Tier.

    2) Hag - i agree on her placement in S Tier, though she would be at the bottom for me.

    3) Oni - i would move him down by one to A Tier. S Tier for me stands for the best of the best, universally good killers, which he struggles achieving imo. The problems he has would be the required buildup for his power, aswell as the fact that he is indeed heavily influenced by the map he plays on. Oni on Lerys for example is not strong.

    4) Spirit - i fully agree on her placement in S Tier.

    5) Freddy - i fully agree on his placement in S Tier.

    6) Billy - i can get behind the A Tier rating, but personally i dont find him to be that amazing anymore. his map pressure is dependend on the map, his tracking is quite bad and against good survivors he really struggles in loops, often being forced to play as an M1 killer. though i have also seen really good billies do some sick curve plays, so im not gonna move him out of A Tier - he'd definitely be at the bottom of it for me tho.

    7) Blight - i fully agree on his placement in A Tier.

    8) Executioner - i would move him down by one to B Tier. the Torment mechanic is very unique and allows him to punish unsafe hook rescues like no other can, but map pressure and tracking wise he is not really good. his chase is also quite sluggish (should he be faking his power) and (should he not be faking it) becomes a guessing game that is easily dodgeable by aware survivors.

    9) Doctor - i fully agree on his placement in B Tier.

    10) Cannibal - i fully agree on his placement in B Tier (given the latency issue where you stun him, yet he receives no stun and still instabreaks the pallet with the chainsaw is fixed. taking that one into account i would go as far as saying high B to low A Tier for him).

    11) Huntress - i agree on her plalcement in B Tier, though i can also understand Huntress mains saying she should be A Tier. imo though she and Deathslinger are very similar in terms of power, so seeing him being a solide B Tier i think she too should be there.

    12) Plague - i would move her down by one to C Tier. she is quite lacking in map pressure (especially when going after her fountains), the sickness doesnt affect players that are confident in not healing anyway and when she does have her Corrupt Purge the hitboxes are awful. she also complpetely removes an potential survivor time waste other killers could apply with healing, which is quite a big downside imo.

    13) Deathslinger - i fully agree on his placement in B Tier.

    14) Twins - i have little to no knowledge on them, as i neither play nor face them like at all, so im gonna trust you on this one xD

    15) Clown - i would move him down by one to D Tier. He is greatly lacking in map pressure, has very weak tracking and the anti chase ability he is ment to have is easily countered by just dropping the pallet a little earlier. additionally he has soundclues on him that remove certain mindgames, such as the loude vaulting noise he does.

    16) Legion - i fully agree on their placement in C Tier.

    17) Ghostface - i would move him up by one to B Tier. his stealth ability can be very strong and the stalking too shouldnt be underestimated imo (especially because he gives survivors no info on how much they have been stalked already and can therefore just pop the exposed on them out of nowhere). the stealth also gives him quite decent map pressure, as survivors always have to be on high alert whenever they have no knowledge on what he is doing right now to not risk being ambushed.

    18) Demogorgon - i fully agree on his placement in C Tier.

    19) Shape - i would move him up by one to C Tier. even though he has some devestating problems to him, such as the slow start up and the latency problem that sucks like a third of the stalk progress you made away, i think he has a very strong and quite frightening snowball potential to him. and exactly that snowball potential is what imo pushes him up to C Tier - even if he would still be at the bottom of it.

    20) Pig - i would move her up by two to B Tier. she isnt amazing, but she has a decent map pressure due to her stealth ability, she has a decent anti loop due to her ambush ability and she has a built in game slow down that CAN be very good (if RNG is on your side). i just dont see her struggeling with a lot of the stuff the other D Tier killers have to struggle with.

    21) Trapper - i fully agree on his placement in D Tier.

    22) Wraith - i agree on his placement in D Tier, however with the right Add Ons i think he is viable enough to leave it behing him and go up to C, maybe even B Tier. especially the Windstorm Add On is very good.

EDIT: some grammar issues i found

  • that would have been a genrush squad.

it is quite obvious that their only objective throughout the entire trial was to speedrun generators.

let me guess: you didnt spot a single cleansed totem, opened chest or saw anyone heal up all game?

lets hope the Devs are gonna address this problem at some point...

  • honestly, after the FOV fix i havent had the feeling that there were any issues left with Legion.

at least from my experience with them recently i havent had any problem playing them.

Bloodpoints are always "free", just play the game and you get them. I already explained that in another comment. There is no such thing as actual "Free Bloodpoints" other than codes to redeem. Just play the game and stop ruining it for anyone who wants to play like a normal person.

then let me rephrase it a little:

free additional BP you would not have gotten had the killer been playing normal throughout the match.

  • i dont think the rift skins are going to be exclusive at all.

i do think they will be added to the store at some point - just that it will most likely take a while for them to do so.

  • only if you enjoy pain and suffering.

  • hmm...

super coordinated SWF teams are definitely an issue. i doubt they'd be able to do much about that though...

map RNG is kinda dumb sometimes, that could be improved. im talking about setups like a T L wall into a Jungle Gym (window at the side) into shack, those are really dumb.

genrushers too - there should be more of a penality for staying injured while working on gens. I always wanted a reduced action speed for injured Survivors - doesnt have to be much, but it should be enough to make healing seem more relevant in their eyes.

1 … 37 38 39 40 41 … 140
