Tons of Survivors I keep running into - tap to stop regression constantly.
Ah you mean THOSE taps.
Then again, even now just tapping the gen won't give you a skillcheck. Or atleast - You shouldn't fail it even if you hear a jingle.
-
@arcnkd said:
While this seems like a logical request; I have to say 'No' simply because: this would benefit Survivors 'tapping' generators to avoid skill checks or slowly make progress; and that's already annoying enough.
That is and would still be a thing.
Also, who taps after Ruin was nerfed?
-
You see, there isn't really a problem with objective points.... when you're doing them co-op. However as we all know that's not efficient.
Increasing solo gen to like.... 1750/2000 would be okay?
-
Tbh, at the first glance I didn't even see this.
If you didn't point it out I wouldn't even see it! Is it that noticeable in-game?
-
Those little hints before the game don't already mention that?

That is a valid concern but I don't think it is going to happen enough to actually require a Nerf. The Survivor gets exposed, then the Killer has to down them (takes time), then must get them to the hook (takes time) and then someone has to get them off the hook (takes time). For all of that to happen under sixty seconds and still leave enough time for the Killer to hit them again, that seems very unlikely. Moreover, if that actually happens it means the Survivor has played very poorly and been farmed.
Farmed and tunnelled (even after healing).
Everything of what you mentioned in 60 seconds is like... Close to impossible. (to take advantage of exposed)

I mean, more meta than it is now. Do I hear the cries of a Surv main who wants every perk to be as ridiculous as DS? MORE SECOND CHANCE PERKS, REE
Wait a second.
Do you think losing a health state (for yourself and apply broken for like a minute) to later possibly regain that health state after being unhooked after 30 seconds would be as strong or slightly below DS?
-
Obviously Second Wind would become so meta if For The People would affect it... sigh Obviously /s.
-
It's unclear to me why this was originally changed. This was changed because of mmr matches (and mmr for each killer)
In my mind, they kept it for potential future.

Voice chat I'm completely against, but text chat wouldn't be that bad, maybe a chat wheel like Dota where you can say like only 3 phrases e.g "I'm being chased" "Repairing generator" "I need healing". This 3 would be enough.
Something that Identity V has!
-
Ah, so this patch is just a disaster. I see.

BHVR would never allow for that. Anything that helps a player work their way through the Rift isn't OK. They'd lose out on money from people buying Rift premium and tiers.
Except, if people can't complete the pass while playing more casually (like me recently) i have no motivation to buy it.

Funny how Spirit's basically been the same way for a long time and only now people are non-stop whining about her. Despite how "OP" she is, I still don't even play against her that often. You would think that if a Killer's broken, everyone would be playing as them because that's what people do, they abuse the crap out of broken or overpowered mechanics. That's why every SWF Survivor runs Dead Hard, Unbreakable or Borrowed Time, Decisive Strike and some kind of sprint perk.
As far as Pyramid Head goes, I don't know who you're playing but it can't be Pyramid Head. Because he DOES have a delay to activate his power and a delay afterwards that prevent him from using M1. How is he an anti-loop Killer? Torment does nothing to you and Punishment of the Damned is avoidable. Maybe you should do more than just reading about his ability and playing him one game.

The first thing that came to mind when I read that was Nelson saying Ha-Ha!
Funny how Spirit's basically been the same way for a long time and only now people are non-stop whining about her. Despite how "OP" she isThat's half true. After her release she was considered another Nurse, hard to learn, high reward for doing so. However after a while people noticed it was ... kinda easy to get value out of her.
So then Cursed Legacy came around too see a bunch of Spirit's nerfs to remove her advantage in mind games - No collision, vaulting animation and prayer beads.
However, However Stridor Spirit still CAN be strong (even no stridor spirit is good if they don't run Iron Will). You still need some gamesense obviously but she still has huge advantages. Just letting you know, I don't think she should be nerfed (or literally like a petty nerf) because we need strong killers. Unless they buff the other "bad" killers they shouldn't nerf "good" killers.
The first thing that came to mind when I read that was Nelson saying Ha-Ha!Why exactly?

Each killer can tunnel easily, the only thing about pyramyd head is that he ignores ds but has to go across the map to do so, in the end i don't find this playstyle to be the best on him.
Not even.
He can hook into Cage or straight to Final Judgement. Which completely removes DS in that scenario. This one is the playstyle that most use.

This is a feature. Every hex works that way.

Please elaborate how the gamebalance would be affected by such a skin ? Some things are more like small details.
And well the consistency wouldnt really suffer that much aswell. In my opinion. Since the mechanic and design would mostly stay the same i dont really see a big difference, other games with skins do similar stuff and these small changes are my favorite part of the skins.
You have to consider, some skins we already have change the visuals of the whole character to the point that they are unrecogniseable from the design. Oni Minotaur for example.
Hitboxes mainly. They would have to be perfect replicas in terms of sizes otherwise they could feel off. Or with Trapper for example any skin that would be darker than OG would give you an advantage. Or literally anything that would be harder to see would give that advantage.
And by consisntecy I meant still something about balance. Like with Trapper. If we just said "Oh he won't get power cosmetics to avoid that!" then that's inconsistent. With Licensced killers it would make sense tho that they wouldn't get them.

Rework means taking something that is old and working on it: it's exactly what you are asking if you didn't know. I never said delete the old myers and make it new...
Yes, It means taking a core part of something and doing something diffrent with it (example Freddy rework).
And I don't think anything should be changed about how he plays. Just the numbers.

Okay fine.
I think he should just get a buff to his base availible stalk. Maybe even to his rate on gaining it. He shouldn't however receive a rework.

Same for the previous guy
So can you show me this "we"?
-
Not "WE!", just you.
I personally just want a buff for him.
-
as in real lifeYou lost me.
-
Two things actually:
- Balance
- Consistency
Like yeah, for Legendary skins this could be done. But for now i think they'll just keep it as it is.
-
I have a feeling Spine Chill's usage would go down... Like super down.
It no longer is an anti-stealth perk and it would be annoying during chases (i doubt that 6%/15% if resilence vault would be worth having tunnel vision with louder breathing)
-
You better watch out, it's batmanscar on the case. Buuuut i'm gonna mimick what evereyone else said. I think he's fine.

Question not really related to dbd: Was this Infamy web always in Payday? I don't remember it being there the last time i played.

Man you can't do poorly with a Stridor Spirit lol... unless you are really new to the game.
Same with the hag, once you have understood that you can instant teleport/hit without aiming, EZ clap.
I won't explain every broken mechanics but you exactly know what i mean. There are new players that know nothing and bad to average killers that know how the game works.
@LastShoe And i know why changes have been done to survivors. Did i complain ? No, i just say they have had to adapt at every update while killers have mostly just seen buffs. And some killers don't require skill at all to be played.
Sure if devs remove the "i can hit without aiming the survivor and then correct my aim by swinging and the hit register", most killers won't be able to hit anything but it wouldn't be broken, it would just mean that the player has no aim and is trash.
A killer that can spam its bottles to slow 100% of a loop and more to get ez hits doesn't require skill to be played, spam spam hit, spam spam hit hook. EZ...
In competitive FPS games, if you miss the head, you don't headshot, is it broken ? No, it requires skill.
Man, i have played killers against good SWF, i have also played killer against my SWF, i have awlays got 3K+ and they had flashlights etc...
Came back to DbD 1 month ago after 1 year pause cause could not accept so much unbalance, went from rank 20 to rank 1, died only 4 times.
As a killer, went from rank 20 to rank 8, played against many red ranks during the new matchmaking, had 3K+ 70% of the time, less than 10 games where i got 0 to 2 kills cause the SWF were way too good and it was on hospital and the game maps. Red ranks were not the best survivors i faced. Never played with add-ons, never used BBQ, never used stridor...
But ye, killer mains are crying gneugneu nerf surv... killer community is mostly unskilled, period.
Again, IF you're as good as you're saying and using an optimal build (haha 2nd chance perks go brr) you shouldn't be dying. Or atleast you should have "normal" matches.
Did i complain ? No, i just say they have had to adapt at every update while killers have mostly just seen buffs. And some killers don't require skill at all to be played.Same goes... for killers? Heck even in perks!
A killer that can spam its bottles to slow 100% of a loop and more to get ez hits doesn't require skill to be played, spam spam hit, spam spam hit hook. Now that is unique, complaining about the clown.
In competitive FPS games, if you miss the head, you don't headshot, is it broken ? No, it requires skill. In this (mostly) casual game that has a ranking system if you miss, you don't get the hit. Is it broken? No, it requires aim.
Man, i have played killers against good SWF, i have also played killer against my SWF, i have awlays got 3K+ and they had flashlights etc...Then you're either really good as youre saying or you weren't going vs good SWF.

SoloQ is a big problem atm but it's ok, 70ù of my games are ok in SoloQ.
But there are OP killers that don't require skill at all. Being downed by a noobie killer that has low IQ, no aim skill and just use a broken killer and often equipped with broken add-ons piss me off.
It's like facing a player with the add-on "aimbot" or "wallhack" on Valorant, it's exactly the same.
Except it's not.
Newbie killer using an "op" killer will still do poorly. Also... what is your definition of a newbie killer?
-
i want to be rewarded for my skill,
IF you're really that good you should have no problem. Or shouldn't have that much problem as you're seeming to have. Unless your problem is with your teammates...
-
Because they decided that they can put Nurse in the base game?
Same with Huntress!
Tbh i kinda miss those "free dlc". But i understand why there wasn't one.
-
Reduce the cd by half.
-
However, every other DLC costs more to buy on consoles than on PC, last time I checked.

That ruins the whole idea with the perk itself.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1588376#Comment_1588376
Cause 20% would be maybe too much if it were to every survivor, that's why I choose obsession.
That seems like a unnecessery restriction.
And wouldn't help the perk like you think it would.
-
Why obsession?

gen speed is already a problem, that's a horrible idea. just making generator sounds to 0m would be a great perk, similar to iron will. could actually become meta lol
besides, stake out already exists for that
Nope It wouldnt.
The killer will still see the generator that isn't kicked. Will kick it. When it isn't regressing anymore he will get suspicious.
-
If/when they fix the mmr they probably will re-enable it.
-
The real problem is that FTP doesn't count as a healing action. Iirc it doesn't even give you healing points!

@White_Owl said:
looping is NOT meant to be a thing, as already said by the devs
I'm sorry but, when did they say that? Looping has been a thing since the beginning and has always been a central part of the game balance.
Literally. They even said that's actually A PART of the game.
(and it was one of the things you cannot be reported and banned for which is something)

From a fundamental design level there is no real way outside of progressing the game faster(Aka Prove Thy Self) to make anything more appealing then perks that can flat out prevent you from losing while playing as the the "Non power role".
The devs have designed themselves into a corner with 2nd chance/exhaustion perks because there is no real logical reason to run anything else.
The main issue is just how powerful those ealier perks are.
Let's take Unbreakable and Flip Flop as examples - Why do you want to risk getting off the shoulders (without 100% succeeding) when you can just pick yourself up. And yes technically flip flop can be used a bunch but Unbreakable still is better in that regard.

They should decide if they want to show his tier 1 stats, or his tier 2 stats...
They didn't think about putting them all in there so they just merged them into one!
-
This would basically mean that people wouldn't use their bloodpoints till lthat "happy hour".
Or will just stop playing when they reach 1mil till that happy hour.
-
makes no sense to his loreFalling asleep makes no sense... Okay.
As gameplay wise, they could increase it by like 15-30 seconds? I think that would be good.
-
This was always a thing, even with old Borrowed Time and Self Care.
-
It would create balancing issues. ESPECIALLY if they wouldn't get nerfed beforehand. Like heavily.
-
New Status Effect - Neato to decrease space. However the question is - would this effect be used in that format again? +It seems slightly weird while the one effect still happens in this perk after the status effect ends.
Repressed Alliance - I agree that the amount of time required to activate it make it useless. And this is a great buff. However I don't think it should last 30 seconds. I would put it on 20.
Off the Record - This is my problem with the status effect. It overlaps weirdly. And if making it counter Stridor is possible then that's fine by me.
Any Means Necessery - And here i'm slightly.... yeah. Reduced cd is fine because way too situational. HOWEVER the added effect is just bonkers. 8 second stun every time you stun the killer. And with reduced cd you can: Stun (8 seconds btw) -> Reset the pallet -> start looping -> goes off cd -> repeat (the killer will probably start respecting the pallet now which gives you even more free space). Even with Enduring it would be bonkers.
Lucky Break - Yeah seems good.
Babysitter - And again this seems good. However, how could you abuse this perk? Especially when Borrowed Time exists.
Poised - Again agreed. The effect is just too small for only 5 actives.
Breakdown - 1st gonna start that i don't feel perks should break the status effects (if there is a perk that already does this i'm sorry). 2nd I can't tell if 3 minutes of a possible dead zone wouldn't be too opressive.
Dance with Me - I don't think stunning should affect it (because sometimes you don't want it to activate it randomly) but 5 seconds sound good!
Stake Out - again, breaking the status effect. But this is an interesting effect! Tbh it could be a completely diffrent perk...
Left Behind - Okay, i don't wanna be that guy, but wouldn't this perk make the last stand be too easy? 14 seconds gates, you can run without any consequences, you still see the hatch.
-
While many of us use Nemesis for challenges like this, there are also many who do not and instead take the cheap way out.Cheap OR they just don't have the perk. Or don't think that far ahead.
