If you let someone else heal you, it doesn't disable it I'm pretty sure.

I want to play my own builds, not my own-builds-but-you-have-to-have-DS
Funny you should say that, because I could say the same thing about when I play killer. Watch:
"I don't want to be forced to bring certain perks just to have a chance in high level play.
I want to play my own builds, not my own builds but I have to have pop + corrupt or pop + ruin."
It goes both ways. When you play against strong players, you have to bring the strongest perks to have a chance. And rarely can you bring in off-meta builds because if you do, you'll lose.
-
There IS reason to use it. To (temporarily) fend off a killer who is actually, legitimately tunneling. If you aren't being tunneled, you won't get use out of ds. If you ARE being tunneled, the amount of time it'll take the killer to fully get you out of the game is plenty of time for the majority of generators to be finished, since if you're being tunneled, nobody else is being chased and should be on generators. If you get actually tunneled to death from the start of the game, and generators don't pop left and right, that's on the survivors for being inefficient.

Reminds me of when I got adept twins. It was still early after their release with all their lovely bugs like victor stuck in the ground. And the devout emblem not counting every hook. God what a horrible experience that was.

I really don’t see how it’s trolling I’m just pointing out everyone only hates this chapter because “Kpoop bad grrr!!” Willing to bet if the killer had a different theme everyone would love him
You would lose that bet. People hate this chapter because trickster sucks. Everything that he does, huntress and deathslinger can do better. What huntress does with 1 hit, trickster has to do with 8 hits, which makes me ask "Why would I purchase and play this character when I could play huntress or deathslinger and be much more lethal?"
Lets go over some of his issues:
Laceration decay. For whatever unknown reason the laceration meter goes down if you don't manage to hit the survivor enough times. Nobody knows why this is a thing, and nobody wants this to be a thing, but it is a thing, and it makes no sense. If you're going to allow laceration to go away at least make the survivors have to take out the blades themselves.
Main event sucks the way it's currently designed. It's a nice idea but the execution is horrible. When your main event fully charges, and you have the option to start main event, the power bar is constantly going down, so you have a limited amount of time to activate it. Which means that most of the time, you end up using main event and it does almost nothing. Or you don't use it and the bar goes all the way down and you have to start charging it all over again. It's like if they gave Oni a limited amount of time to activate blood fury or else he'd lose all his blood and the ability to use his power. So rarely do you actually get a chance to use main event at a time where it would be advantageous to do so.
Honestly the only time it feels worthwhile to use his power is when the survivor is trapped, or at any loop with short walls. Any tall wall, like on coldwind or red forest it's near impossible to down someone with his power, and it feels more worth it just to chase normally. So yeah, overall I'd say I dislike trickster because his power is garbage. It has nothing to do with the fact that he's a kpop idol. You put this power on a killer with any nationality and it would still be garbage and hated all the same.
-
These are some potential changes I think could help. Not saying they should do all of them, maybe just 1 or 2, but he needs some changes:
1 - 115% not 110%
2 - Making main event more like Oni's where the power bar is always full until you activate it, and when it's deactivated you save whatever power was remaining.
3 - change the number of required blade hits from 8 to 5 or 6.
4 - Remove laceration decay and either make survivors have to remove the blades themselves, or make it permanent and non-removable like ghost face's stalk.
-
Saying gg isn't rude at all. It's called sportsmanship.
-
As soon as i heard undying was getting changed to synergize better with token hexes I knew people would start posting about devour hope being a problem and needing a nerf.
-
Oni. When he doesn't have any blood, he's an m1 killer with nothing to help in chase. When he has his power, he's the strongest killer in the game 2nd only to the nurse.
-
It's really not that tough. I play on ps4 and I can't count how many i've gotten. Yeah the devs do have a tendency to change flashlights every patch without mentioning anything, but it's not hard to get used to the changes.
Adjusting the light I will agree is much harder on console. Which is why you need to make sure and aim at the right spot from the beginning. I recommend going into a custom game to practice. That's how I learned.
-
This is one of the few times I'd actually say get good. If you're not good at chases, of course the killer is going to take you out of the game first. A very smart thing for the killer to do is to find the weakest link and eliminate them, and you're the weakest link in this situation.
Imagine I'm a new killer, and I come on here and make a post stating that survivors completing generators is not fair, because I'm not good at ending chases quickly or spreading out pressure. People most likely would say the same general thing that everyone is saying here: get better at chases or run stronger perks to help/pick a stronger killer.
It's not the killer's fault you're bad in chase, and the killer doesn't have to take pity and go easy on you. And on the flipside, it's not the survivor's fault if you (as the killer) are bad in chase, and the survivors don't have to take pity and go easy on you. This is exactly how pvp games work, if you didn't realize.
-
If survivors are infected for too long without cleansing, they go down. Forcing a cleanse.
-
So I know it's totally unrelated but I have a chrome extension on my computer that replaces all instances of the word "God" with "Harambe", so I read this post as "Harambe bless the design team." Oh I haven't laughed like that in a while thank you.
-
Against a strong team, spirit will struggle. A god Nurse, on the other hand, does not care how good you are. She will demolish you regardless of how good you are.
-
What's wrong with him not having a shirt?
-
We'll get the trailer reveal tomorrow morning and then right after the ptb will be released.
-
Survivor: typical trash killer with a trash build. Learn to not rely on crutches. (this was after I killed him)
This was before the ruin change, I was playing trapper and I was using Whispers, BBQ, Ruin and STBFL. Ruin got cleansed immediately and I had never used whispers before and forgot about it. So really all I had was BBQ and STBFL. Meanwhile he had pre-nerf Balanced Landing, Adrenaline, Borrowed Time and Decisive Strike, claiming that they weren't crutches.
Killer: Hag is way too strong and her teleport needs to have a cooldown on it. Like a 15 second cooldown before she can teleport again. She has no counterplay.

What I AM against is a character who's lgbt just for the sake of being lgbt, and that's it.
I repeat, a character doesn't need a reason to be lgbt+.
their story doesn't need to tie in to it, it doesn't even need to be mentioned in the backstory besides being acknowledged.
stop thinking that a character can't be lgbt+ without a reason for it. that's dumb
I KNOW that the story doesn't have to tie in to them being lgbt. "I'd prefer a character with an interesting story/design, who also happens to be lgbt."
In my first comment I wasn't saying the story had to tie in to them being lgbt. I was saying I'm against someone who is lgbt, and that's all there is to the character. With nothing else to them other than the fact that they're lgbt.

you don't need a reason for a character to be lgbt. get that out of your head.
you are not here asking people to have a reason to be straight are you? then stfu.
Um, I never said I wanted a reason for them to be lgbt. All I said was that I'd prefer a character with an interesting story/design, who also happens to be lgbt, instead of a character who's lgbt and that's it.
-
I'm not against an lgbt character in dbd. What I AM against is a character who's lgbt just for the sake of being lgbt, and that's it. Without an actual interesting story. If being lgbt is literally all there is to the character, I think people would just feel insulted, and nobody would be happy.

The only time you probably won't get much use of iron will is against a plague. Other than that, it's a universally helpful perk.
It also makes injured generator repair less scary, since the killer can't hear you as well.
Also, Iron Will is especially helpful against spirit. Even if she has stridor your iron will will still make you quieter than normal.

Just look at this... The monitors, the DBD logo, its all adding up <3
Also if you think it cant happen because of the thing Scott said, they could have did the licensing agreement a year ago, and we all know how Scott likes to troll :/ We will see what happens in the teaser ;)
Still almost 100% sure it's fnaf?

Maybe an alternative would to make the gen appeared to have a lot of progress but really it wasn’t worked on much.
Could be something to do with a toolbox. If you have the perk and repair normally, the gen appears to have not much progress, but if you used a toolbox on the gen it appears to have way more progress than it actually does.

This discussion is only a suggestion. Camping has always been an issue, I've been in more matches with campers then I have with a good killer. I didn't know they had already tried this, thank you for informing me. But they need to find something that sits between the killers and survivors. So the killers dont camp and so the survivors don't abuse it. I also don't understand how survivors could abuse it
It's super easy to abuse. Just have a 2nd survivor pretending to hook bomb. The killer either stays and stops the survivor from unhooking, allowing the hooked survivor's bar to stay still, or the killer has to leave, allowing the unhook. Lose-lose situation for the killer.

True on Freddy, Leatherface and Pig, but I doubt BHVR is repeating that again, considering how flawed those Chapters were when they first came out (especially Freddy).
Ghostface and Stranger Things on the other hand is different tho, since Ghostface was only a Killer. But that Maps still need to be reworked and a licensed Chapter will most likely contain a Map is a really good point (and if they keep their current pace, they will be done with the Midchapter-Patch after the new Chapter).
I'm pretty sure the only reason ghost face didn't have a survivor with him is because they'd already planned on having 2 survivors (steve and nancy) with the next chapter. After all they do begin making new chapters like 5 months in advance.
-
My guess is we'll get the reveal trailer early next tuesday, and like 30 minutes later we'll get the ptb.

To understand why this idea is important for health of the game, you need to realise that the reason why face camping is effective is not only because survivors often start rushing the hook, but also because camped survivors just suicide on the hook. You won't get more points, you won't get emblems.
While i agree that survivor shouldn't receive any emblems, in my opinion he should receive a bp reward for staying on the hook.
Not for getting downed, but for buying their team time, by staying on the hook.
Just as when you take a bullet for someone, you are not a hero because you took a bullet, but because you saved someone. If it would be the other way around, anyone, who shoots himself would be a hero.
But you do get points for being on the hook. After struggle phase ends you're given "struggle points." Usually a little under 1000 points.
-
Punish the killer by doing the gens and getting out. The survivor on the hook getting camped also needs to understand that they are no longer a survivor, they are now a sacrificial lamb, and the lamb has to do its part by not attempting to escape, and struggling for as long as it can to buy time for the remaining survivors.

It is not confirmed at all. But there are...signs... for it.
But even without any information, being original makes more sense, because it is more likely that the Anniversary Chapter (Chapter 20) will feature licensed Content and two licensed Patches in a row would be unlikely.
Freddy, Leatherface, and Pig came out consecutively. Ghost Face was followed by Stranger Things. 2 licenses in a row isn't that unlikely.
That being said they still have 4 more realms to rework, and aside from Ghost Face licensed dlcs usually come with maps, so my money is on original.

The new hud is worse than the old hud but better than the 4.5.0 hud. The old hud was far better and I don't think the change was needed. Or asked for.

Ok can you record your next vs Spirit game and upload it to YouTube or something, because in my 2 years of playing I have NEVER seen the grass physically move when Spirit phases through it, and if it did I wouldn't be complaining about her. You can hear it if you're very close and there's currently no chase music but that's it. From watching so many streamers play against Spirit, and my own games, I have not once seen her move grass.

Regarding 1 - I play on low graphics and I've never noticed this - Does she actually? I've legit never seen it from a survivor POV even testing this with friends. Show me video of this and I will rescind part of my post correcting it.
Regarding 2 - You need to be so close to see this that you're basically taking a hit and honestly that comes off as a visual bug BHVR has never fixed.
Okay I just did some review and I think she moved grass when she was released, but they removed that. What I can say for certain, is you can hear her footsteps, especially on indoor maps. And I think you can hear grass move when she walks through it, not sure though. My bad.
I never really have trouble with spirit anyway since I basically always run spine chill and Iron Will, 2 universally helpful perks (aside from plague) and don't need to see grass move to be confident in my decisions. If her model is not moving and looking right at me, and spine chill stops lighting up, I know she's phasing.

Well I mean yeah - Spirit doesn't really have a reliable counter aside from run as far as you can. Every other killer has some reliable counterplay within reason however Spirit does not.
If you actually face a good Spirit you'll see that these fake outs and jukes don't affect them. For the most part people just want a tell that she's phasing and that's the main thing. No one really has fun guessing when she's phasing and when she's just passively sitting there.
For example some reasonable adjustments would be
- Spirit affects grass while phasing
- Spirit has some tiny tell on her whether audible or visual while phasing that she is using her power
Yeah, about that...
- Spirit does affect grass while she's phasing, you can actually see it.
- She does have an incredibly small visual tell. Her shards do actually light up when she's phasing, but you have to be literally right in front of her or have record breaking eye sight to actually see it.

The werewolf thing I totally buy, but the wendigo thing seemed to me more like people taking a guess based on something vague rather than following a likely red herring.
Remember the firs deathslinger teaser, with the chain on the ground? When everyone thought that was pinhead? Was that vague?

What about the one that was painfully obvious in the 4th year anniversary one for Pyramid Head? Anything is possible.
Well yeah, all the licensed chapters are painfully obvious. But we don't know that this one is licensed.
Remember when the first deathslinger teaser came out and seemingly everyone was thinking pinhead?
-
It may all add up but BHVR is notorious for putting out teasers to completely throw people off. It happened last chapter with everyone expecting a wendigo, and it happened before that with everyone expecting a werewolf.
-
I really doubt that it'll be licensed, considering they still have 4 more realms to update, and they said not to expect new maps any time soon.
-
@Moundshroud said:
I want to start by saying I think this is silly. The game isn't dying. The updates need to come with fewer problems, if for no other reasons than our sanity and their pride, but it takes more than annoying updates to kill a game. However, to lighten the mood and carve some fun out of this situation, I played with the lyrics to Bye Bye Miss American Pie:
A long, long time ago
I can still remember how that game
Used to make me smile
And I knew if I had my chance
That I could make those Survivors dance
And maybe the Entity would be happy for a while
But February made me shiver
With every update the DEV delivered
Bad bugs and animations we regret
And if they’d fix them I wouldn’t bet
I can't remember if I cried
When I experienced the update’s lack of pride
Something touched me deep inside
The day Dead by Daylight died
So, bye-bye to Perks on which we relied
Chased Meg through Gideon; the pallets made me cry
And them good ol' boys were drinkin' whiskey and rye
Singin', "This'll be the day the game dies
This'll be the day the game dies"
I'm so glad somebody did this. Legit right when I saw the title of this discussion I thought of the day the music died.

@ukenicky said:
This is really hard since they're both stealth based killers..
I feel like Ghostface probably has the upper hand in terms of physical strength whereas Pig has the upper hand in dexterity and cunning.
I know Ghostface is a seasoned stalker but Amanda has shown in the movies that she is extremely adept at manipulation, hiding and surprise ambush. Honestly I think both their powers are kind of useless on each other what with Ghostface having to expose by looking for a long time and Reverse Bear Traps only being applicable to someone knocked down and incapacitated it would mostly be a fight between them and their knives I guess lol
It doesn't help that I love both of them either.. I'm going to say Pig though.
Amanda thinks like Jigsaw and she'd never let herself get caught out. Ghostface in most if not all of the movies (If I'm not mistaken) always gets caught in the end and killed so he seems more liable to slip in human error. Idk, when I think of Jigsaw and Amanda I just can't think of either one making fatal mistakes they have everything planned out methodically so I think she'd lead him into a trap if she didn't think she could take him on in a 1v1
So yeah, Pig ftw lol
Except that the dbd ghost face has no connection to the scream movies.
-
The devs don't need to implement anything else to punish camping. The punishment is already there, it's called finishing generators. The person on the hook becomes the sacrificial lamb and sits on the hook for 2 minutes, which is enough time for at least 3 and a half generators to get finished.
-
The black box add-on makes 1 survivor the obsession, and makes it so that person starts asleep and cannot be woken up. That's most likely what you encountered.
-
Were you the obsession, and did freddy have the Black Box add-on?
If so that's the cause of it, not a bug.
-
Be unpredictable. Never do the same thing twice in a row. If you keep doing the same movement pretty quickly the nurse is going to adapt to that movement, so you have to change your tactic frequently so as to trick/jebait her and not get caught.
-
I got adept deathslinger on ps4 recently. Unfortunately my advice won't be very helpful: I sent myself to The Game and it was a breeze, but that was before the update. And I haven't played new Game with slinger and a million god pallets everywhere.
I'd recommend warden's keys+tin oil can for your add ons.
I hear a lot of people suggest going to dead dawg saloon for slinger but for whatever reason I cannot for the life of me do well on that map, and I know it's just a me problem.
-
The hitboxes have not changed, the servers are just bad and out of sync. The hits look fine (for dbd) from the killers pov, it's just ridiculous from the survivor's pov. Personally I'm not going to play survivor again until those issues are fixed.
-
So far my experience with this update has been less than desirable. Hits look even worse than they did before.
-
If playing solo survivor is such a nightmare (which it is), why not find some people to play with instead so you don't have to worry?
-
Survivors dc across all platforms because they're salty. That being said I play mostly on PS4 and every time someone dc's, in my experience, it's someone with a globe icon.
-
Just reading ghost face's backstory tells me he's pretty sadistic. Stalking his enemies before killing them and whatnot.
-
Playing against deathslinger can be pretty boring because his gun is so fast that it's literally impossible to react fast enough to dodge. Same speed as a fully charged huntress hatchet. Playing as him CAN be fun and satisfying but it usually isn't because even if you play really well, gens will still be flying so even if you play nearly perfect, you still lose since he sucks outside of the 1v1 chase.
