I'm just being honest when I say my experience with Survivor has gone downhill extremely fast since the patch.

My Killer experience has been fine. I've won every game, which is nice, but I also haven't felt like I was challenged at all except for when I was (ironically) playing Nurse.

Did anyone give you advice on how to play her? Nurse on console is a whole different beast, so don't be discouraged if you lose a lot, especially when you come across survivors who know what they are doing against a Nurse. Also what perks and addons have you been using, sadly Nurse addons are all pretty meh besides recharge and range, but if you are planning to learn Nurse long-term I would suggest starting with basekit as if you start with addons you are just gonna rely on them a lot. I can also give you a couple perk build I use, if you are still trying to learn.

  • They are fine, sometimes its an all escape game, sometimes its a 3 escape game, sometimes its a 2 escape game, sometimes its a 1 and 0 escape game. Its much more varied than before and I have to rely on my teammates much more than before as if a single survivor or 2 do not focus on objectives and instead go for other things it can really make or break the game.

It's definitely much better than when the update first came out as my teammates were awful, killing themselves on hook and throwing down pallets left or right, but now that people have calmed down its a lot better. I am glad all the people complaining about the game and threatening to leave are gone, because they were ruining games for others so good riddance.

If everyone is dead when you hook the last, it auto-kills.

If someone is on hook when you hook the last, it doesn't auto-kill.

Thank you for clearing this up, for some reason I thought it autokills you and the team if nobody can escape, for some reason all this time I thought there was some secret game mechanic that made it so it avoided killing you if you were going to for sure Kobe, it must have just been coincidences, even then it's still crazy to think about because every time it's happened it was always a Kobe, what are the chances of that.

  • Why use just aftercare when you can go all in on the aura reading becoming all-seeing with, open-handed, windows of opportunity, kindred, and bond. You will see so many auras you will be so confused, but it's hilarious.

  • @MikaelaWantsYourBoon said:

No it is not. I used PR + DMS or Ruin + Pop. Now i am dropped DMS, Ruin and Pop from my builds.

Now i am using Thana for slowdown and PR for regression. And other 2 perks for information or chase.

You should try the new buffed aura reading perks as killer I have been having loads of fun with lethal huntress and other range killers, it really made aura reading builds amazing.

  • It's a bit strange, but when everyone is hooked, but the game knows you will get off the hook sometimes it doesn't auto kill you because you can kobe. I don't know how it works, but I just know it happens quite a lot so much so I often prime a hatchet right at them if I don't notice them auto dying because I realize the game is saying they can jump of hook.

Can anyone else confirm this happens lol?

  • I have seen a lot of perks I have never seen before in a match well I had known about them, but they were never used. People are using different perks, especially new buffed aura perks. To say that all killers are sticking to the old meta is disingenuous. It's like me saying survivors are still using dead hard and old meta perks like bt, ds, and unbreakable just because a few survivors are still using those builds doesn't mean all of them are that is why I won't make blanket statements because it's just silly.

Na, you assumed something about me to make a point and I corrected you. Get over it.

    OK?

  • I think it shouldn't have deactivated the perk though, like obviously its better in no exhaustion perk builds atm, but it would have been better if they were going to go with the second nerf at least leave it at 50% that is more reasonable honestly.

I act as if it wasn’t bad before hand? Are you new here? Have you read my post history? If you haven’t, maybe you should.

Love how you just picked and chose that little tidbit lol, get over yourself like I would go stalking through your post history. If only people on the 'discussion forums' were willing to actually have discussions.

    I knew this was coming.

Gann please forgive me for being frustrated, but you act as if people don't already complain about everything the fact that most people are saying not to touch it, it shouldn't be nerfed, and that it shouldn't be touched at least not now shows you that most people think its not in a bad place..

People can and will complain about anything even bad perks, niche perks, and perks they personally dislike. So please people don't latch onto this and turn it into us vs them. Here are some other silly op posts, it's not really that uncommon.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/315993/unrelenting-is-op

I'm so sad because I can already see the people who were like "killers just going to complain about sprint burst after dead hard nerfed" use this as a gotcha lol. It's not an opinion carried by everyone and you will not see a lot of people agreeing with them mostly just frustration, bait, or personal dislike post.

Some changes probably should be rolled back.

Self Care didn't need a nerf, for starters.

DS was fine at 5 seconds, so long as it didn't work in the endgame.

    Ruin was a bit overnerfed.

They likely nerfed ruin to oblivion because they wanted to change the meta from less passive regression and more kicking generators regression and slowing down generators. At least that's what I feel like they were going for.

  • it was nerfed down to 75% I was using it without an exhaustion perk and was losing a lot of killers the nerf wasn't that bad, I don't quite understand why people are whining this much. Even people testing the change didn't really think it was that bad, this whole reaction is very much just an overeaction.

If you think this update isn’t a buff to killers and a big fat nerf to solo q survivors we clearly aren’t reading the same patch notes.

The update is a buff to killers one that was needed very much so it's been literally years since killers got a major killer-focused update that affected all killers. It's a nerf to survivors and solo q, but you act as if it wasn't bad beforehand. If anything people going about it sandbagging teammates, dcing instantly, killing themselves at hook as soon as they get found, and dropping all the pallets make it worse not the fact that meta perks were nerfed and killers were buffed.

I am sure the next update will be solo q and survivor-focused, but it would certainly be a lot better if people weren't taking out their unhappiness on others and making solo q even more miserable just to spread their silly argument. Before the update sure there were second killers in the lobby turning games into 3 v 2, but now it's out of control.

When games aren't like this or have a hardcore tunneling at 5 gens killer games are fun, I actually have had a very enjoyable time so far out of 26 survivor games so far about 4 were ones the killer tunneled so I am not unhappy about that. Though definitely need some countermeasures at 5 generators to make tunneling not a strategy for use at the start, at the same time I feel like midgame and late-game it's fine, though more measures to make it better to spread out hook states would definitely help.

Though acting like the game is unplayable because killers got buffed is flat-out lying, it's unplayable because solo q teammates are ruining games for each other, you wanna know how many times a survivor dced in a game when we were winning, not going for unhooks, or just flat out didn't do generators hiding in a corner of the map or thrown all the pallets? Like 14 of the games not even joking, those are the things making it miserable. It wasn't this bad before the update, but people are hardcore throwing now for literally no reason.

  • I love the perk diversity in my survivor and killer matches I no longer see all survivors running dead hard dead hard dead hard, it's now so much more interesting and the killers are running perks that I haven't really seen in years, like overcharge even call of brine was something that I didn't see often, but now it is used. Rookie Spirit might actually be useful now that killers kick generators.

  • I really love nearly all of the outfits in Set A they all seem amazing and while Set B has a few good ones, the rest don't seem as exciting in my opinion. Don't get me wrong they are all great, but I definitely would love to see the top ones more in the game the design choices are really amazing. Really a shame they are so good, I agree the Set B characters need some love as well, but I really don't know if they can win if that's their competition.

  • I mean the same thing happened when boons were released and boil over and etc every update people will complain about so why should I care when some people are mad and say they want to leave? It's literally been 2 days and you know for a fact they will all be back by the time resident evil is released, killer queues are still instant and have been for years, survivor takes 10 minutes where I am at.

So why should I care about people saying the thing they always say after an update they don't personally like? It's not like forum members make up most of the dbd players anyways it's literally just a few people who have time to waste. Most of the other players don't feel the same and will continue playing so what makes you think you can speak for everyone?

  • Honestly, people kept complaining and complaining that sprint burst is so much stronger than dead hard so dead hard wouldn't get nerfed so I don't even mind, I love sprint burst. It's definitely a lot healthier for the game than dead hard ever was and I am glad it's gone, sprint burst has counters and 99ing the sprint burst is really skillful so I for one welcome our new sprint burst overlords.

  • I thought they learned from last time putting levels and prestiges in lobby makes it a dodge fest..

  • @Raccoon said:

I don't have a lot of Survivors levelled to max - Just the old meta squad.

I've noticed that people are dodging me like mad if I pick someone I haven't prestiged, yet....

Anyone else having a similar experience?

    I'd remove it if I could T_T

Wait they put prestiges in the main lobby? Why would they do that?

What you're saying here is, because of the 0,5% of the player base who concentrate the following conditions: FUll SWF, competitive, sweaty tryhard experienced players with many hours using meta perks, then the rest of the playerbase, the vast majority of survivor players have to be at a tremendous disadvantage and just never have a fair winning chance. Forget about it if you're with randoms against a veteran Nurse. Nurse is broken and absurd, but she's fine because a ridiculous minority can beat her.

It's just such a dumb flawed logic that people like you use, and there's only one factor that you mentioned yourself : Entitlement.

Because, yes indeed, survivors were the dominating role and the big guy back in 2016 and 2017. Very early stages of the game, killers got stomped left and right. But this has been not the case for several years now. But because during the early years killers got bullied and stomped and made fun of so much, this myth about survivors being OP has remained for all this time.

It just isn't true anymore for a long time. Killers have been very strong (experienced ones, anyway, because in 1vs4 games the person playing alone has always been the one to have to tryhard at first to get good, that's obvious) for a very long while now. The only thing that remains now as a powerhouse are those very sweaty tryhard meta SWF groups. And those will mostly remain the same, as always, while, also as always, solo Q gets shat on, bullied, stomped and trashed patch after patch after patch. I'm personally sick of it.

I've been a solo Q player since 2016. Occasionally I have been in SWF and mostly a duo, but 70% of my time has been solo Q. Because of this I'm probably a lot better than your average SWF player because I have been forced to carry randoms who are clueless for years. I enjoy killers that take skill and are fair to go against (My favourite killer to fight is Huntress, I love playing against her, because I feel like it's fair) when, having an equal chance at it, if I'm better I can come on top, and if I'm worse I will go down anyway. Nurse completely negates all of it. I'm good against Nurses, and can back it up ( unlike most people trash talking on this forum, trying to lecture others about how to get good against Nurses, when they probably can't last 20 seconds against a God tier one ) but if the Nurse is very experienced, and this is not hard to achieve, she negates most of the things you can do, and she's basically playing against herself : If she makes no mistakes, she wins, and your input doesn't matter. Even maps that are "bad" for her (the game) aren't a problem for the really sweaty tryhard Nurses. She's basically cheat mode once you know how to play her.

The only people who defend her are people who want to stomp everyone all the time not through skill, but through overpowered mechanics that allow you to negate every counterplay other than just coordinated gen rushing and doing all gens in 3 minutes through a well prepared SWF squad.

People who lump everyone together are absolutely the worst, I don't see how you can really expect to hold any crediblity whatsoever with those statements, also I want you to know those are opinions not facts opinions so dont go pushing them around like they hold any legibility whatsoever. It's such a dumb flawed logic that people like you use, and there's only one factor that you mentioned yourself Entitlement. (lol it even works on you.)

Also just because you played the game since 2016 doesn't mean your 'opinion' holds any legibility whatsoever just so you know before you fall down from that high horse of yours, yes solo q should be buffed, but just because you hate Nurse with a passion doesn't mean you get to dictate what is fair and what isn't fair. People hate huntress a killer people often find unfair because of her hitboxes and is another killer that is somewhat complained about and when she was first released people complained and complained about the rules and how pallets and vaults are supposed to be safe which I find ironic since half your point is she somehow breaks the games foundations.

It's also awfully hilarious how you try to dictate and lecture others about what isn't fair and what is fair like you are some kind of developer, hey guess what the devs decide what is or isn't allowed in this game and newsflash they made Nurse isn't that funny? Also newsflash god nurses are few and far between like seal team 6 swfs if you really think that oh no im going to get god Nurses every game I dont know what to tell you. Also newsflash she isn't cheat mode when you learn how to play her, you act as if getting good at a character in the game is on par with cheating when in reality its just getting good at a character in a game lol. Contrary to popular belief I doubt there is even a Nurse that never makes mistakes, even the best Nurse I know of SuperAlf makes mistakes so please show me your mystical god nurses that are just in every match and everyones closet ready to jump out at you at a moments notice in solo q.

Also not everyone plays Nurse to stomp, I play Nurse because she is fun, her ascetic, and because she was the first character I played in dbd just because I didn't like how trapper played and she one of the other free characters besides huntress and Nurse. I mained both huntress and Nurse and I was absolutely terrible at both, you act as if everyone goes into killers with just this competitive mindset that oh "im going to be the strongest killer ever that will teach those pesky survivors." When in actuality please explain to everyone why a console player would want to play Nurse in 2017 when sensitivity was awful and you could barely even do a 90 degree turn until the sensitivity update and the framerate was so awful that it stuttered my game every blink. Obviously I just wanted to stomp right, there is no way someone would play Nurse because they liked them oh no why would anyone do such a thing unthinkable really.

Honestly I don't say this a lot, but people like you really make me hate the forums, but go ahead fulfill your daily quota of "everyone who doesnt have same opinion as me is wrong and humph they just wanna exploit game mechanics." Come back to me when you are a developer that works for BHVR and let me know when Nurse actually somehow disobeys the untold made up powerful laws of the game. Also try not to lump in people just because you dislike the thing they enjoy. :)

I didn’t see this comment when we had 4-5 daily discussions about dh

Touche I didn't see these comments either during old hex ruin when there were a daily of 6-12 discussions complaining. Usually when something is literally seen in almost every game that usually means it's broken op wouldn't you say lol. Unless you think the 75% pick rate was people doing it on their own goodwill on not to use the most powerful perks in the game? Old ruin itself had an 80% pick rate and was in every game similar to how dead hard is now no perk should dominate every match like that anymore. Sadly dead hard is actually worse since there is more survivors than killers, so if you think about it dead hards pick rate is absolutely atrocious since dbd player count wasn't even that high during old ruin lol.

I don't let them get to me they're not the first survivor to call me a hacker when I'm hillbilly. I've even done the same thing with a different survivor but, as Demo made a random guess opened a locker bam he was in there though they weren't salty about it they just wondered how I knew and I was like just a guess and they were like oh ok.

Yes it's quite funny when that happens, im sure huntress mains, trickster mains, and dredge mains can all agree that accidental locker grabs are the best lol.

  • Don't worry about it happens to me all the time lol, never got banned for it even though many many people call me a steam sniper, hacker, etc just because I used my brain or guessed correctly. Like I always drop a carried survivor when the last generator is done and instantly hit them just in case they have adrenaline unless I have already been carrying them for a while. Those kinds of experenced reads will definitely get people suspcious of you especially when you read them right, doing things perfectly just makes people think you are a cheater it happens in everygame. Just don't let it get to you, take it like a compliment that these people can't believe that someone who wasn't cheating could do that move, you must have really amazing game sense.

Just putting words in my mouth and misrepresenting what I said. And that gets several upvotes. These nurse mains will even upvote nonsense lol.

Because what you say is nonsense and largely depends on personal opinion, that's all it is, you do not provide facts, you only provide your 'opinion' so kindly keep your ego in check. If you want to get lots of upvotes go make a thread crying about Nurse I'm sure you will find many like-minded people who want to mindlessly complain over and over without adding anything of importance.

This whole thing was about actually adding valuable information and intuitive information that actually makes sense, but you are demeaning and spouting rhetoric that the people you are combating have no real value to the conversation. When in reality you are the problem not them and honestly you not seeing this is just silly if you actually added valuable additions maybe you as well would get the personal gratification that you desire lol.

  • Spent years p3ing characters, all my killers are p3 and nearly half of my survivors are as well and I agree with you, I did it in hopes that if there was ever again something similiar to legacy arriving I would be able to obtain it. Because legacy skins have always been my favorite as a console player dbd wasn't even released to console until much too late so I was hoping for when the devs looked at the grind again. Guess its bragging rights if you were a streamer or a youtuber, but its a cool effect. :c

  • The worst part is they won't even admit they made billy once the poster child of balance into a killer you go against once every 3 months. All he needed was instant saw changed that was it.

They won't even say they overdid it, yet everyone even the survivors who hated him realized it was an awful nerf for no good purpose other than to make billy into a killer nobody plays. I love the developers, but this was one of the worst decisions they ever made in my opinion, one that they even now to this day, refuse to do anything about.

  • yes please change this lol

  • It already counters doctor and several perks, I don't think we should make this the pain resonance of perks for survivors just take off the speed penality and its golden.

I’ve been maining Artist since I returned to DBD from my 2-month break and I really enjoy her. I used to play her a lot when she came out but then got bored of her after some time. I got back into her and I gotta say I really forgot how fun and rewarding she is. If you haven’t tried her I definitely recommend giving her a shot.

Also who is the first most fun killer to play as im curious now.

  • Even though I'm still a bit sad that I won't be able to have something to show like 2016 players for grinding I will still use it.

I do partially hope though they do add some kind of gift like a charm at the very least as it would definitely make my day, ill just have to hope that they give out nice cosmetics through the new prestige system I suppose.

  • I really liked playing her when she first came out, but as survivors learned to play against her she pretty soon became really unfun for me to play because the survivors are rewarded for using running away as the main tactic and it's actively encouraged similarly to dredge. It's just always been one of my least favorite things to go against because it doesn't really feel like I'm doing anything other than trying to cut them off or trying to damage them at a distance. She definitely not weak by any means and I have won quite a lot with her, but I just don't really find her fun to play sadly. :c

Though definitely love getting longshots with her lol, its surprising how many people still don't know that lockers remove crows instantly.

  • Also, make it so blood point gain is similar to both sides by improving the emblems so there is no more of a definite better side to get blood points on. Thanks.

Perhaps you and @Mewishis are right. I self-reflected a bit and maybe I have been like that for a while in terms of Nurse. I’ve had strong hatred for her for a while for a reason unrelated to her gameplay specifically but I have taken it too far.

Sincerely though, I’ll listen to Nurse advice. I’ll keep an open mind this time, I just needed some people to point out I had a wrong mentality.

Honestly @TheGannMan it's really heartwarming for you to say that because I'm just so used to people just purely going into these discussions to refute everything without even listening to what is being said. So I want to both apologies to you if I was in any way rude to you in my reply and thank you for being so kind about it, it really was pleasant to see and genuinely made me happy. If anything I can't blame you for hating Nurse and I hope that whatever it is is either fixed or resolved so you don't feel unpleasant because it's sad to hear and I genuinely wish whatever it is it will be fixed.

Thank you again for being so nice about it, I know I am repeating myself a lot, but it actually feels amazing to actually be able to discuss with someone for once. So thank you and I hope you have a wonderful day today, also if you want to discuss anything with me for my input please feel free to ask, and ill try my best to answer. :)

Or if you get the double stun bug where you weapon wipe then fatigue.

I do think the speed boost reduction is significant.

I forgot that was a bug if I'm being honest lol..

I know, but I would need to be able to test it out from the ptb to see if it is actually as significant as people were saying because it could virtually be the same as before. I just doubt it's as significant as people are saying like oh now you are for sure dead against every Nurse, I am on the console so I don't have access to the ptb sadly. Though I do think it is significant, just I have doubts it's as bad as people are saying because people have been doomsaying for a while now it's just getting to me ill edit my comment so it is less confusing.

  • @Pulsar said:

So, the basic attack cooldown reduction, does that also affect Nurse's hit off of a Blink?

Likewise, to anyone who played her on the PTB, how much does the speed boost reduction affect her?

The nurse isn't affected by cooldown perks the way other killers are because her blink attacks are counted as a special ability similar to deathslinger in a way, though I don't play deathslinger enough to know if the cooldown addons work on his ranged attack hits. The only addons that affect the blink are the fatigue addons and that's about it, though the fatigue addons right now I have heard are bugged specifically the catatonic boy's treasure. (Though the fatigue addons have always been a bit awful..) So for the most part the Nurse only is getting the speed boost so I wouldn't worry about a huge strength increase unless the devs accidentally made it affect powers.

The only thing that may make it more difficult is the speed reduction on hit, but we have yet to see it in live so we will have to wait and see if it really is significant. Though to be clear, here are the reasons why it won't be too much of a big deal.

A.) Nurses don't need to break pallets or breakable walls.

B.) The cooldown reduction only is there if a Nurse walks toward a survivor and that is a big misplay or mistake on the person who gets hit in this manner.

Alright tell us the counterplay. You people love to say to us that we need to learn how to play against her, so what’s the counter? Please don’t just say “be unpredictable.”

What's the point you don't want to listen. There is one thing communicating with people who are open to having their minds changed and it's another talking to someone who goes into something not even willing to give others the benefit of the doubt. If it's not "Nurse mains never give good counterplay/advice" it's "Nurse Mains write entire essays to defend a busted killer" there is literally no winning so tell me why anyone should try if you yourself aren't willing to listen. So please tell me why I should even bother?

  • You are reaching a bit with this one not going to lie.

  • Honestly, I just dislike what it was like before the penality if anyone remembers it was awful like survivor games had like a 50% or even 80% of instantly turning into a 3v1 as soon as the killer was revealed to be someone they disliked. Like it was really fun feeling like the game was lost before it even began because someone was having a tantrum over the killer not being someone they liked lol. Not to mention how unfun it was to be nearby ready to save someone with a pallet as they were being picked up they dc and then I end up dying from it because the killer turns their attention to me like it was probably the reason why I enjoyed playing killer more back then because in solo you really learn to dislike your teammates.

Though I will admit I have met some of the best survivors in solo queue as well and some genuinely well-rounded survivors so I can't really say I have had a completely negative experience, but yeah people who dc because something didn't go right for them really frustrate me because of those experiences lol.

I can't be bothered to do that. I've offered up my profile to show that I play at a very high level, which is simply true.

I've offered this up which is much more than any of the people defending nurse are willing to do. Maybe if any of these nurse players showed any of their game footage that would help a lot. We could see where they are struggling, and maybe even help them.

Like I said, I have about 6k hours in the game, the vast majority of which is streamed. I don't care enough to go through my footage and timestamp things, but it is there for anyone to see. If you want to be proven wrong in how you view nurse, then you are more than welcome to find it yourself. If not, that's fine too.

I assume the video you are talking about is in highlights? Yeah.. I don't highlight nurse videos. It is embarassing playing a character so much stronger than the other team.

On the contrary its embarrassing complaining on the forum about a killer you hate simply because you suck. :)

  • after playing against 4 dead hard lobbies after the validation update for years at this point, I can safely say I hate dead hard now so no I won't lol. Which is sad I used to love that perk as a survivor, but now it's the bane of my existence.

Yes, that's my personal experience that every nurse is clutching for 4k, sweat is just phrase, I've been nurse main, it's boring to win every game so I am no longer, it's true that my personal experience is not equal everyone elses experiences, I've asked some friends, they also haven't seen nurse that wasn't sweating and not giving hatch if there are a lot of dcs, also a lot of nurse complaining threads are proving my point, so maybe it's not so my personal experience?

oh my, a god nurse that never loses ill just have to take your word for it.

Hillbilly, Twins, and Blight but I think nurse is number 4 or five

Hillbilly isn't that difficult unless you are curve billy and you can only be so good at curving as it doesn't really work against good survivors who don't hug tiles. I should know I played billy for quite a long time, his chainsawing is fairly easy and simple you only really need to focus on chainsaw pathing and how to get downs with the chainsaw besides that and curving he really isn't that difficult just frustrating with his overheating.

twins are only hard because of the jank and bugs, but you can do fairly well as them quite easily once you learn how victor works, and even if you learn how victor works the jank can still mess you up as well as the current survivor meta not favoring the twins.

blight is easy to pick up and learn off the bat because his power is ramming into walls and doing charge attacks, sure you can count the techs to increase the difficulty, but bhrv says its an exploit so going off base blight you just need to know what obstacles you can hit off of and what angles you need to go from to get a hit. Though have to admit blight is awful on console because you can't do half of the things you can do on pc with him and for some reason, the turn rate feels much much lower on console and I don't know why the same thing with oni.

That's tricky part, most nurses are sweat lords with main objective to 4k no matter what, even with 3 dcs no nurse will give hatch, their choice ofc, but for some reason other killers are giving hatch way more frequently

i always give hatch but people like you make me not wanna lol, also just because you lost doesn't mean the killer was sweating. also its annoying when people try to clump everyone in together, maybe dont try to speak for people you dont even know you are not a nurse main and your personal experiences do not = everyone elses experiences.

I play many shooting games. It might take a while, but I can handle it (probably)

No problem, I played before the sensitivity update for console, and the day they increased the sensitivity was the best day ever. Like if you want to be able to almost do cool things pc players can do I highly recommend max sensitivity, but only if you want to be able to do 360 hits and do partial flicks.

  • Max sensitivity if you can bear it, it makes us console players almost able to be as quick as pc players, but if you don't like the speed just do what you feel comfortable with lol.

  • i dont get why people defend macro flashlights it genuinely makes me feel unwell when someone does it when im killer or survivor. honestly all macro anything in this game should just be gotten rid of.
