Rejoice! Auras may have disappeared but the dc penalty is back in action. That’s a big plus for me.

I kinda liked the DC'ers. As a fellow survivor - they always made me laugh as I thought it was ridiculous to DC. Especially at EGC - at that point I was like - seriously - why would you do that?

    Insanity I tell you.

Then some of the killers would take mercy on you and I would get to be in some real chases that lasted more than 2 secs lol. Most of the killers took the extra time to make it full for everyone if you had an early DCer. I will miss that.

Ahhh those were the days. *sigh*

I really hope they managed to fix the difference between a crash and a DC though.

Well. Back to being a killer main I guess until MMR comes in.

Dont really want to continue being put with trolls, afk players and rank 20s.

Trolls yes. AFK players - really? but nothing is wrong with a rank 20 - that depends on the person, not the rank. It's only a number. 😎

Better yet. Play for a full day on the public DBD discord in various SWF groups as a survivor.

SWFs are a minority. Toxic, bullying ones are a minority within that minority.

If you want to have an opinion on it, you need to play as SWF for more than a couple matches. Try a day's worth and then come back with opinions (and suggestions as the OP requests).

Personally, as someone who plays a lot of SWF, I think that most of these complaints are from people that are failing as killer and want something to blame. I see a wide mix of 4K to 0K in the SWF matches playing with a lot of different groups. I don't see enough consistent 0Ks to justify changes to SWF, especially when the game is balanced around 2K.

I have not forgotten our bloodpact. 😜

Still aiming for this weekend. *fingers crossed*

Do expect me to run into walls, bushes, solid objects.

    It's going to happen. *nods*

Unfortunately its not a bug, but I suspect they didnt test and they didnt expect it to be so bad. And thats the issue, not testing.

I dont understand the point of having a ptb if you arent going to use it. If i were emporer of bhvr thered be something/somethings being tested in ptb by players every couple of weeks

Shhhh I want to have my delusions that this was not done on purpose... in spite of what the patch says.

Patch wasa typo. Patch was a type. It has to be a typo.

  • @DrDeepwound True, but, I think it would be far easier and effective if it were simply fixed.

To rely on all your users to manually make adjustments seems a little - well - not good and not everyone will have the ability, r know how.

It's not just people with color blind issues having trouble with them Many users seem to be who have normal sight and hearing.

What would you replace it with. A forum area with feedback, rather than a scale? Multiple scales on a few areas? Any ideas?

If not that's okay. :-) It's kinda a tough one really I think. Most people want to move on to the next game quickly.

there are 4 scoring categories for survivor and for killer, each have the 50/75/100 extra for one category and then a 25% across ALL 4 as well as a 100% for all. but it's nothing more than getting points based on those categories :) if you have any questions please ask, if i see the question i'll do my best to answer to my best ability but I am not a dev, just a guy that has played a while and looks at how things are done in general to be able to work in the enviroment :) feel free to pm me if you'd rather keep it quiet @MaybeShesCrazy :)

Thank you for this - it does help to make sense of things better than wiki actually.

This board I think disabled the PM's. Probably because we all get a bit satly from time to time lol Only a little though. Okay sometimes like an ocean but still.

I'm sure there is a solution for this. I have to think. It'll come. :-)

All you have to do is, if you have an Nvidia card, download the reshade filters (which are officially safe and supported), and adjust contrast etc to make the auras easier to see. Also helps with Blendette's on darker maps.

Can also be done on AMD cards, but they have to do it the old fashioned way with the Reshade UI instead of Nvidia Freestyle.

EDIT: DOWSEY did a tutorial for nvidia game filters here - you can use this to get the filters and either use his settings to tweak it to your liking:

Title, I've been seeing this a LOT now

Yes I swear to god we all know swf with comms is harder to go against than solo, but what can they do? Disable friends from playing together? Please come up with an innovative idea if you plan to create a SWF unfair discussion.

    Cheers

    It actually has been.

ID the killers and ID anyone in an SWF prior to game. (Contrary to what people think there are a lot of killers involved in SWF that cheat with people in game.)

If anyone is in a lobby with an SWF, including the, or with, a killer. It then allows people the opportunity to chose to leave the lobby.

If an known SWF has a good reputation then no one is going to mind being with them. If they have a bad one - they'll find they are on their own.

    It's a fair solution really.

PS - I'm a survivor main and it aggravates me as much as it arrogos unsuspecting killers. Sandbagged, grieved, points get stolen that I should be able to earn but can't because of their behavior and the game gets seriously miserable.

thing is i don't know if this has been thought about now and that concerns me.. i don't think that a dc should count as anything but points into sacrifice. it removes a player from the game. but outside of points the mmr system probably will not handle dc's properly since we have no information on this. i still have issues with the fact that there are shadow fixes being put out there so it makes me question if the fix was truly there.

also 32,000 points is the max you can get in any dbd game (8K per category, 4 categories). so 31,950 is within the bounds of reality. :)

LOl Good, I thought you meant on top of your normal points, like a bonus.

Ah the English language and the 100 ways you can read something! 🤣

THis explains why when I see an offering of 100% bonus on brutality I quiver a bit. It seems some always DC's when that offering is up. Ahhh - it's all coming together.

I think it will be sorted eventually. Not sure quite how yet.

  • Kindred didn't work at all for me last night at all. I tested this AM to and nope - same.

Also 1/2 the games with piggy - that little box you take the trps off with - not highlighted. Not a good game I can tell you lol.

Both of these issues were pre-patch. I'll have to wait to later to test again.

ok 1000 points for a hook, 200 per stage including sacrifice and a dc gives the killer 625 or 675 points only... also hooking goes into the sacrifice point score category, the dc benefit goes into brutality and if the brutality was maxed out it's worthless. yea that's something... great thinking.

    Well...

    valid point.

DC's should be based on downed or not I would think. If you smacked them and they were down, it should count as a hook.

Maybe that will get sorted at some time.

I once got 31,950 points because someone DC'd before I could hook them

    peepoSad

    Was that a typo or....

  • @TAG Sorry I forgot this - yes rage quitting I would agree with. Like a first downed situation. That's silly of them imho.

  • @TAG said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1480918#Comment_1480918

Lemme amend what I said before: Punish super early hook suicides. The ones that are clearly just fueled by a desire to ragequit. Stuff like suiciding to give someone the hatch or suiciding because you're already down a person and someone else is on the hook at 5 gens still is okay. Hook suiciding in a way that basically just screws the entire team over is not okay in my book, and that's what should be punished.

The above I gave you - many of those are early suicides. At least the negative team based ones - not the ones where I am saving my team .

...and the trouble with that is this: they are subjective to a judgement call and I'm sure there are times my judgement has been wrong. Although I'm fairly good at sniffing out these people.

I can't say that a number of those kinds of games in a row don't jade you a bit, and skew that judgement. I have to be careful that what I feel, and what I'm sensing, and seeing, are matching up before I suicide. I have to be completely honest to when I say ... after many bad games like that in a row... I error on the side of it being bad teammates or the teammates having ulterior motives. Not always - but a lot.

Is it right? It all depends on your POV.

The honorable ones - I think for sure are good reasons.

The really subjective ones? There is only so much I will allow myself to be subjected to in terms of the above and I think that's fair. The trouble though is a double edged sword. My rights to have fun and someone else's need to balance. These are the things I have to consider. If you are having fun at your teammates expense. That's not a team. Count me out. That's my POV.

I stink to high heaven at this game, but I try so when my teammates pull those kind of stunts. Simple it's a no-thank you. I will however never suicide just because the game is bad and I have teammates that suck like me. Those games are kinda funny.

DC'ers. Puzzle me. Though I do understand if it's like what I've mention. (When teammates are purposefully messing you over. Even then I don't DC that punishes me - not them - which is where it should be.)

    Makes sense?

depping is a penalty? it is a reward! they do it TO depip becuase they don't have to face people in the game their rank. that is why people were dc'ing... first 4 pips... wow I could clear a whole rank in one shot! then 2 meh it's ok still get there faster now it's 1. and still people are doing in droves. played 6 games today... SIX... five of them had a dc in them. I played a killer, didn't tunnel, didn't camp, didn't body block for more than a quick swing (more than survivors can say when ganging up to prevent a hook. hell in 3 of the games I didn't even get a kill because i didn't care to even try I was being generous till they dc'd then I decided screw it.. got 3 freddy 4k's at rank 18, one perk at rank 1 level 1 killer, no add on's no offerings. I guess you didn't research all the games some had stiffer penalties, hell dbd's is laughable... but atleast if it's a swf they are ALL penalized.

IT IS IN THE RULES. SO YOU WISH TO BREAK THE RULES INTENTIONALLY. YOU GET PENALIZED FOR BREAKING THE RULES. NOT REWARDED!

BTW killer still gets the points if they DC. I know it's not fun for you all though. That's sometihng?

Well if Pale Rose vs Pyramid Head on 24th July 2020 at 00:56am rings a bell it's that.

Sick meaning "sick and tired" or just "fed up" by the way.

You then made a forum post immidiately after your dc complaining about SWFs dcing when a friend was downed. @MaybeShesCrazy remembers this thread well im sure.

While I do remember the thread I really wished an open talk could have be held about it. Maybe one day it will be. Maybe not in that thread - but maybe another - one that has both a DC'ers POV on a game experience and one on the other end.

Currently we do have an abandonment BP for games. I don't think it's quite working all the time the way it is suppose to though. It gives the people abandoned a 600 I think bump and it also -1 from the DC'er rank.

I had a whole SWF team DC on me today. The killer apologized to me after. I was on the hook when they did it. No coming back from that. It wasn't the killers fault, they didn't do anything wrong. A teammate died and they DC'd. I had another group that I'm not sure if they were SWF or not, but same thing. Honestly - I didn't care because if someone doesn't want to be in the game - I'd rather for their sanity and the team - they didn't.

I do wish they'd not do it on first down though. At least give us a chance to prove we will be there for you as a team. I guess if they've had one too many bad experiences though - it's hard for them to trust the team. I know - I've had those moments. I've had teammates leave me to bleed out for no good reason a few weeks back. Sucks - I would have been absolutely in my rights to DC at that point without benefit to them and without a penalty on my end. I didn't. I died and moved on to the next game.

See I do do that. I admit this full and frankly think it's okay.

    Reasons so far:

    • Teammate is about to get pummeled for trying to rescue me.
    • I'm being camped to high heaven and another teammate is for sure going to go own and I'm probably in the basement.
    • Teammates self-healing right beside me or doing gens while I'm going into second phase. I mean seriously what kind of nonsense is that?
    • Teammates ignoring getting off hooks until the last second, again that puts someone into phase 2 and the second they are hooked again they are dead.
    • Teammates all rushing from across the field, getting off gens to get BP. Gesh man only one needs to come the rest need to stay on gens. Chances are the lot of them are going to end up going down. I'm actually saving them from themselves lol. Seriously think about it - I actually am.
    • When you have an obvious SWF that involves the killer. Oh helk no am I dealing with giving a cheating teammate and killer extra BP's.
    • An SWF that obviously is only looking out for each other and not the whole team - yup - bye bye.

So above are some reasons some may think are selfish but I think they are sanity savers and if anything the other parties behavior is unfair.

Some are very much for the team.

I actually have accidentally done it a few times too when someone was almost there, I thought they had me and stopped spacing and yikes. Oh that's bad. I feel awful when that happens. It's happen I think 3 or 4 times. I am more careful now.

I think those are pretty legit reasons and I've experience a load of those. It gets very frustrating to play that game, after game, and not suicide and say "oh, forget this" and move on to another game where you can actually have fun with people.

Me too. I think we'd have fun and thank you - that's is super kind.

In your honor I spent 10 games no dodging a blendette in a lobby. 8 out f 10 were actually helpful and decent. Two -well - let's say they pretty much let us all die and took the hatch each time lol. But 8/10 didn't so... not bad. :-)

AS for this thread. I laughed and I laughed as I remembered I said I was really, really good at saving teammates. Well Murphy punch me in the nose for saying that and those same 10 games - omg EPIC fails on saves. I ate me some humble pie - a big helping :-) Once I apologized to the universe - all seems okay again. Oh man lol

Much love to you too and I hope your week goes fantastic!

I agree with everything you said here and I will admit I need to get better at talking nicely to people as I am a very nice person but I get mad when people do something that makes absolutely 0 sense to me. I used to wear the P3 skin on claud but got tunnelled every game just for wearing a skin so now I don't wear it even though I have never been an immersed player. What do you play on though? PC I'm guessing?

It is hard ooh this I know too. I have my moments where I want to reach through the screen or yell at them in chat but I try to remember that that's a person on the other side and I'm not in their head. If they are a jerk - I block them. If I'm in a lobby with them again - I ditch the lobby.

    Yup PC. 😊

I feel bad that you got tunneled every game but after experiencing many of the P3 clauds personally - I kinda understand why the killers do it. It's a bad assumption they make but - it's what we experience that changes things. My hopes for people is that in the end - they get more good experiences than bad.

  • @xavyq said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1477539#Comment_1477539

Well ig we have 2 different experiences. Maybe if more of my immersed teammates were like you I would be happy but they aren't so🤷🏽‍♂️

It's why I like to wear Kindred often. (Though you also see things that can be very upsetting too. Big catch22) I'm so crappy in most chases that at least that is something that can help my team see each other and know where the killer is so they can plan.

Next time you are in a match with someone you think spent the game in the corner. Look at their score, if it's low but reasonable you know they were doing things and trying. If it's really low, talk to them. Nicely. It's all in the approach. If they aren't open to a chat - move on. If they are, especially if they are new, you could really help them in the long run.

Even if 1 out of 10 is open to discussion (don't tell them how to play the game though - helpful suggestions etc) then you have helped to make the problem better and possibly the game better for them and perhaps their next teammates. If they are obnoxious about it - walk away.

Someone help ed me when I first started by doing just that. They were in chat and asked nicely who was hiding in the back. I raised my hand and said 'It was me" and they had a chat with me about why I was and I explain I was new and didn't know LOS of killer and such and they were very helpful. By the next week I was doing gens and saving teammates.

Sometimes now I get accused of being immersed and ignore it as it really makes me mad - I think to myself, look at my points - I did okay. Gens give you very little BP when you are on your own and what they don't realize is that I blew up a totem, did two gens alone and saved a teammate. They someone have tipple my score - but I worked along with the team. I wasn't lazy and I wasn't hiding.

I have to admit - it is pretty hurtful when it happens.

I hope you get more teammates that are sneaky and helpful :-)

I can't say I've not dodged a lobby with two blendettes in there - I have. So I get it. Totally.

BTW I don't do blendettes myself. Normal characters.

  • @xavyq said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1477525#Comment_1477525

Well first of all, the urban evading person usually NEVER saves me. They usually urban evade to the corner. This game is very simple if you learn it and play it right. If you are close to the hooked survivor. Get the save. If you are far and not on a gen. Get the save. Doesn't matter what your running or how immersed u are but often times. The immersed person doesn't do anything for the team. This is my experience. May not be yours.

I wish you'd have played with me - I'm really good at saving my teammates and I love doing it. Even it bad spots. Not always - but more often than not.The longer they are in the game, the more enjoyable it is for them. Killer gets my points too if they hook again - so kinda a weird win for all.

I sometimes wait and if near a totem and not a gen - I do the totem while waiting to I see where the killer hooks my teammate. Then plan accordingly.

It is weird how we all have different experiences isn't it?

    Interesting and frustrating.

I agree hiding in a corner is not good. If you're new - I get it been there, done that the first week. If not new - gah!!!!!

Sneaking says to me, "I don't care about taking agro for the team I only care about not getting caught but if the rest of the team dies oh well."

See not for me. Sneaky for me is their are two main things escape and with team. The latter to me takes priority. Gens we can do - the is no rush - saving a teammate - yeah that's kinds a time sensitive. Watching a teammate go to second phase on their first hook - irritates me. Especially when wearing kindred and see what's going on.

But see we have to understand - it's a play style. For me, I'm not a blendette, I multitask, but I am sneaky as helk. If I get into a chase - I know it's going to be a quick end. That does nothing for the team really. ME on the hook for a bit can help - as I often where Kindred for the team. Too often I'm left on the hook far to long, unhooked, killer comes back and I'm instra dead. :-(

  • @xavyq said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1470900#Comment_1470900

There's something called taking agro. It's something your supposed to do AS A TEAM. Also, maybe if you weren't so immersed, all the survivors would escape bc instead if leaving the gen when you hear a terror radius, you stay on it and finish it instead of urbaning to the corner of the map. Also, if the other survivors are all on death hook while you are still being immersed. That's your fault. If everyone takes agro then the game would be a lot better for all the survivors not just the immersed one.

    Which would you prefer:

Two scenarios for you (and there is more but here are two)

    Would you want:

    A) The UE person who is doing gens here and there but stops to come get you off the hook quick because they are faster and keeps the other teammates on the gen.

    B) The teammates that stay on the Gen, or self heal while you are on the hook, near dead, first hook and already in struggle phase and someone who can't last in a chase is the only one trying to help you, they get hooked too, and now you're both dead with 3-4 gens up?

My experience: Teammates are too immersed on the gen of self healing or healing each other to both to help the hooked one. Their BP's are more important than the team. They are just as bad as the Blendettes IMHO. Maybe worse. A blendette might escape but they get next to nothing for it if they've made no efforts.

  • From my experiences: If you want to be competitive with teammates and killers - I think red ranks is a good place for people.

If you want to play fun and co-operative - it does seem to be more the 10+, often a bit higher. They seem to all have more my style of fun and team work. Less competitive with each other. Although if you have one in those ranks that's aiming for red - god help that team lol. Especially true it seems of purple ranks.

That's on average what I seem to come across. I've seem the opposite of some reds and same with 10 +.

Since I'm not a competitive type, and more of a team player, I find I've been happiest in 10 +

Every time I'm in purples though - I can't wait to go back to green. :-D

It feels like every killer I play against is tunneling, mori-bringing, or face camping. And if I get tired of that and switch to killer, everyone is SWF.

I love this game, but I feel like it's so unplayable on weekends, especially Friday for this reason. And I find it is making me more toxic as a result (which is why I quit league). This is especially true with the d/c penalties gone, I will just d/c instantly because a lot of games are miserable.

Usually I'd say yeah - stay away from Fridays unless you like bad mouth idiots and jerks. (Normally Teammates) Or want to face a really over skilled player in the killer camp that is way past my level of playing. Last night was okay for me for a change - tonight - not so much lol. Tonight was Friday lol I wish I'd never logged in.

...but yes - normally I refuse to go in game on Fridays. Almost every game on Friday's is a lesson in misery.

Lol yes sir, that's not a surprising scenario. Honestly I feel worse for you guys in that situation, by EGC that killer probably maxxed what he could receive in points from that guy anyway, but he left you guys a man short.

The thing is there are a host of players here that defend DC at all cost. They feel justified in not having to go against what ever killer they don't like or certain add ons (mention DC's and Huntress iri heads I'm the same thread, works everytime) and killers dc'ing because they can't tackle looping (Although sometimes when I see a huntress around a tight loop and some ######### running around it 15 times, just to repeat at the next loop 10 feet away for all the gens, I fell bad.... Especially if the survivor was me) or flashlights. Camping is just another excuse for the type of people who don't want to get better at the game.

This game DEFINITELY has a lot of frustrating scenarios and I don't know how long you've been playing, but at some point it does get to us all to a degree. You are coming into it with a great mindset, tho! You seem like the type of person who actually wants to improve instead of complain or ruin others game by being selfish. I think you'll learn looping just fine. If you play on PS4, I could help you learn as well

Actually we were good in this case. Everyone was dead and she was the last man standing. That was what stunned me.the most. All that and you DC? Made zero sense.

Oh I get it - I see wraith and I'm like "Oh no, Bell guy!" and ohhhhh the temptation to not play is strong lol But If I don't face him - I mess up my team - and I don't improve - so - I suck it up and go "Okay bell guy - you - me - let's go" lol

OMG Flashlights -imho useless tool. Can never get those to work right. I feel like smack them repeatedly going "Is this thing even on!?"

I've only been playing about 8 weeks now. Week two was the hardest tbh as I ran into every griever, nasty soul on the internet. Oh the names I was called - shocked me. I was not prepared for that abuse. Nearly quit. It was bad. lol

I've now learned to take the temperature of the game. If I have nasty game after nasty game for a few games running, then I walk away for bit and wait until the temperature is better. I also block grievers etc. If I'm in a lobby with one - I know now to just leave the lobby. No point. If I've blocked someone - there is a solid reason.

Thank you - I try to take with me a good attitude - some days the game does get to me too and that's when it's break time! I will still never DC on purpose as I think that's not the right way to handle it. I wish we could convince others not to as well. :-(

and thanks for that offer too. I'm on a PC though. Hopefully that allows cross play for you?

This guy gets it. I've said all along the only reason camping is so strong is people do not know how to approach unhooks. Good survivors do it all the time.

I suck at chases a often, but I've seen it done (thank you Kindred) and I've made efforts to do it myself with another teammate who was stronger. It works. If you're going to DC anyway - at least let people try.

I think my only thing with camping is when it's done on every hook. It makes it really hard to get any real points. :-( I might change my mind as I improve though. Who knows. :-)

I experienced yet another DC'er last night in game - and this one broke my heart for the killer. They did nothing wrong. They played well and were very fair. Two of us were left at the end and my teammate leaves me hanging on a hook to look for the hatch *cries in her cereal at the memory of abandonment* but anyway... EGC starts. She's being very good and sneaky, gets the gate nearly open - killer comes back and wacks her down.

    DC's.

I was like Wthelk wow, why? I apologized to the killer on behalf of the idiots and let them know they played well. That wasn't fair at all to them - and right at EGC - are you kidding me? Killer still got their points, the only loser their was the teammate.

  • Chases like that happen. Kindred is your friend.

Also I have run the killer into my team more than once, once the other day while running Kindred. I felt terrible and stupid.

It does happen though. Often not on purpose.

    I feel you.

If ya ever want to play with me and talk while we play I’m a great team player and will share any of the things I learned along the way.

Thanks :-) I think that sounds like fun!

I'll be hooking up a mic again sometime this weekish. If we can get me to survive a chase beyond 10 secs - that'd be a win. I'm very much a team player myself. 🤗

i too ranked all my players high enough as early as I could to have all 4 perks. I get that. Get all the tools you can to survive as a new player. Killers want them too. But with the birthday cake they’ve perked themselves up so high and that’s the only way they know how to play. Perks and better weapons and offering and camping.

    Exactly.

This should five people a perspective. I have all the DLC's.

Playing about 8 weeks. Keep in mind I work and am on call on my off days /time often.

My characters: 7 are at 50 - three of those P1, 4 are at 40+ and the remainder at at least 20. Only 1 is at level 5.

How's that for crazy leveling. I think too I have two killers at 5 .

Btw for this that you said "You sneak to a generator and bam end up on a hook 2 minutes into the fame. Of COURSE people are going to get raged."

You are being generous - it's usually 30 seconds in, sometimes 45. So I can see why someone would DC - but my thing is - as someone's teammate - please give me a chase to come get you before you decide to DC. I'm actually not to shabby at unhooking and I rarely let anyone hang for too long. Camping makes it harder, but with two us us - we can distract and get you. Give us a chance. That is what I'd like to say to DC'ers.

  • @BBWH said:

I just don’t get the idea of needing points and using the birthday cake to rank up and then get to a point in your rank you shouldn’t be in. The “goal” shouldn’t be “how fast can I get the easiest amount of points to rank up and play more poorly.”

i loves getting all the points too but where’s the fun if it’s just about feeling like you ranked all the way with poor sportsmanship and are so unskilled THEY D/C. It’s a cycle that needs a solution.

I think too it's to get some perks maybe? I know that was my goal was to get points to open up perk slots and get some perks to try and use.

Exactly it's about fun - or should be - and not every game will be fun. At least fir us. DCing isn't the answer though. Very true.

  • @BBWH 7 -8 really but yeah I was at a 10 at I think 4.

You are correct - it's escaping from a chase. I suck like there is no description for it. I work at it though. I do try not to be the first hooked though as I know if that happens - it's probably lights on for me - as in - dead. Then I am useless to everyone.

The nature of my work - I've worked all through quarantine. I can only image what would have happened had I been quarantined. 😮

btw I was just in a game with 2 clauds, 1 just DC'd on first hook and the other suicides. All within about 45 seconds of the game - or less. It was a seasoned killer for sure. They were skilled. The two remaining of us, 5 gens still up, kept going. The killer did us a great service and let us get gens and have fun. Oh and I was so excited to be chased and not clobbered to death 2 seconds in.

They let us go - but I would have be okay to be hooked at the end as the killer took the effort to make sure the remaining 2 of us had fun. Hats off to them. It was pretty awesome and nice of them.

Another DC case for the books. :-(

Players get hit once and D/C. Or get put on the hook the first time and D/C. I’ve watched killers sit there camping and obviously the player on the hook can see how close I am... and see how the killer isn’t budging.

I’m not toxic at all. I rarely comment or rate. I like to play fairly but these D/C are often players that I haven’t even interacted with in the game yet.

MY theory is the Birthday celebration got so many “newish” or “still learning” players to up their rank. Their skills aren’t improving. They just keep getting more and more things to take into the game. They keep ranking up. And they keep losing. Meanwhile due to the birthday cake they still get extra points no matter how bad they are. My theory is it’s a lot players who went up in rank before they should. So you have a rash of new killers that only know how to camp because they have no skill to kill without out it. And a ton of players who feel overwhelmed and D/C.

Holy poop on toast. I think you are on to something here.

I joining I think just before the anniversary? (I'm at 7 -8 weeks now.) It was not done for the anniversary - it happened to be the time.

I'm bad, and the fact that I'm often at a 6 - 7, ( I range between that and a 10 -11 depending on the week), shocks me. I no longer look at numbers as having meaning. I've kicked rank 1's butts as a teammates and I been beaten to the ground by rank 20 killers. I no longer take into consideration a team-members, or killers rank.

Lose for me is a -1 etc. A win for me is 0 or a + it doesn't matter if I didn't survive. Even at a zero it's usually been a fun game.

I feel I went up too fast and my skill aren't seemingly going with it. Especially in chases. (There is another weird thing that happens too. I often start to lag if a killer is near me - even before the heartbeat. During a chase it happens often too. Makes it harder-much harder.)

I have seen players dc on the very first hook, and come to think of it, yes, it's almost when the game has started and they are immediately hooked before they can do anything.

Don't shoot me - but I will sometimes suicide hook. Normally for good reason - but if I've had a number of really bad games in a row and I get into yet another where I'm on the hook before I've even barely moved, have kindred on, and I see my teammates either doing nothing, two people healing one soul, or they come beside me and start healing or doing the gen beside me while leaving me hooked - I'm out. At that stage I know it's wasted to stay around and I might as well move on to the next game. At that point you can pretty well guess I'm dead anyway. I might , if I have enough time left - try to pull myself off before hand but ...

BTW I rate every game I'm in - but I'm not sure what that even does.

Guy in post-game yelling at the killer after a DC was because he manually pressed "Leave Match" (Which takes you to the post-game screen but doesn't actually disconnect you from the server) then waited for the match to end just to BM.

Which IMHO is even more toxic. If you REALLY have to DC, leave the damn lobby and find a new one. If you wait the entire match just to yell at me in post-game it proves the survivor quit solely out of spite (vs a genuine emergency or connection issue).

I don't think I have that option on A PC? Mind you I've never looked as I have no use for it. Kinda sad about that as I was really hoping there was a way to get back in if it happens again so that my teammates would know I didn't rage quit or anything.

I thought it was a pretty crazy thing to do as well. If they wanted to leave - leave. It was pretty rotten to have a teammate come back in and yell at the killer. The other teammates at least defended the killer. That was something good. I agree as well - it was extremely Toxic. Felt bad for the killer as it was uncalled for.

God forbid, but if there was ever an emergency I'm not going to take the time lo log out of the game - I'm going to take off with the game running and deal with the emergency. ☹️

It is a person's right to DC if they want, but as everyone pointed out, it has consequences on everyone.

You basically screw over your other three survivors. Survivors have 3 lives and with four of them in the game that is 12 lives as a whole. Killers have to hook at most, 12 times to win. By DCing first hook, you effectively take out 1/4 of your times lives. You also decrease your teams ability to get things done. At the least, Killers are chasing 1 person at a time. This leaves 3 people to get done tasks around the game. It is a lot of pressure on killers. By DCing right away, you ease the pressure so much especially during the beginning of the game.

It also has effects on killers though too to a lesser extent. A DC gives the killer a choice. To recognize the game is harder now for survivors and give them a chance, or just go all out. A lot of people won't feel affected by this and kill. However, as someone who plays at red ranks, if a person DCs at the beginning of the game, I usually let 1 person go. It just doesn't seem fair to me to punish the entire team for one person's selfishness.

For the person who DCs. You are limiting your success in the game and screwing over others. People will not want to play with you because of you screwing them over and get enough reports and action could be taken against you. By not testing yourself when facing something you don't want to face, you will never get better. There is always a way to get out of a situation on both sides. Is much as it sucks, you could have got unlucky and the killer might not be good as you think.

And while this may be mean, if you keep on DCing when things don't go your way, maybe you shouldn't play this game. There will always be people better than you and worse than you. Despite the hours I put in, I know there will be games I lose on both sides. I accept it and use it to push myself to get better.

Don't forget Samwise - we only have 3 lives IF your team gets you off the hook prior to the 1/2 way mark on the first hook and sometimes healed. Otherwise it's 1 or 2. The second hook is either 2nd phase fast or - insta-death. This is one reason why I go get my team off the hook ASAP. ;-) The longer we are all together, the better chances we also. Also from a killer's side - they hook anyone three times they get more points too! Win win!

    😁

I don't know what I think of the old DC penalty system as I've not experienced it, however, I crashed a lot for bit in all sorts of circumstances... once a week. I did some tweaking and troubleshooting and it helped but it does still occasionally do it. I would hate to be punished for something I had no control over. I am sure my team in some circumstance thought I DC"d but there was no way I could tell them what happend.

I hope if and when it comes back it can tell the difference between a Crash and a DC.

We had one user a few weeks back that DC'd and then was in chat yelling at the killer after. I have no idea how they did that. I can't get back into a game after I crash (and that's probably because it's a crash) but also if I am watching a game and then go back to the main screen and hit any button I'm launched back to the lobby and can't get back in to watch the rest of the game.

Nea comes in 2 forms from what i've seen boosted af or toxic af. Very rarely is there a good nea.

Okay I feel kinda silly - but what is af? I did an internet search for the term and came up with zippo. Help?

    *Jumps out of her skin*

o,O is that why Ghost face and myself, the first time we met - both looked like we had seen ghosts? LOL Man he freaked me out out crouched down at my level. I was Nea crouched down. We sat there staring - it was hilarious. Then I ran right into him OMG the tears streaming down my facing laughing as he smacked me around and hooked me.

My point is that you are judging them based on what you see rather than what you hear. If you play with them and hear what they're saying, you might have a different experience.

I also think you'll find that the vast majority are not toxic. Yes, they have a slight advantage, but aren't bullying.

I realize that there are other servers beyond the official one and that some may not even use Discord but rather some other tool, but still, you could learn a lot from just spending a day on the official Discord.

Point, however ,you are asking me to ignore a freight train that I see coming because I hear the bell off a bike. That's crazy talk but I like you so I'm going to trust you.

I can't do it this week but next weekend (unless something changes) I will set up my mic and headphones, join in and see what the what is. A different is a good thing to have. It certainly can't hurt to be open minded and see. 🤗

I don't know which is worst tbh solo in this or solo in resistance. My god i've met some of the dumbest people in both.

lol then you have no doubt met me! ;-) When it comes to this game - oh yeah I've done my share of stupid.

    @Kolonite said:

Actually the worst experience is having to see either a Nea or Claudette in your lobby.

Claud I get. Especially a Blendetee or my fav a squad of them lol, but Nea? Why poor nea?

  • I hope I can use my own idiots moments too.

I ran the killer right smack into my teammates WHILE I had Kindred on and another teammate was on the hook - so there's that. I was like OMG what did I just do? I apologized after the game and they were so good about it. Thank goodness none of them were hooked or die because of that. I would have felt horrible.

Got a teammate off a hook during EGC not seeing or hearing the killer right behind me when I did it. They hooked me, I died, ( totally deserved) and hit my other teammate down. Thankfully one of our other teammates didn't take the exit and was waiting around (the other left immediately when they were opened) and saved the teammate I screwed up on.

First time I saw ghostface. I froze. We literally both stood there for a good 30 seconds face to face. I accidentally end up running towards him rather than away. lol

MIchael - standing there staring at me at a window. We both stood there. I was waiting to see if he was going to come through the window, or what. I waited too long - he was fast going through the window. I really should have ran when I could lol

Legion - not realizing they could side over palets like the survivors the first time I faced them. ohhhhhh If they could have seen the look on my face when he came sliding over it.

Teammates. Too many to note. Seriously. I'll think of some unusual ones and come back.

  • @Squirrel_Thicc said:

I don't really think it's a secret that killer kinda sucks to play at high ranks. I know that I'm not the first (or last) to complain about solo queue. Slightly long thread read if you care. (Btw this is all my personal experience and all of my friends agree with me).

Yes, survivor is mostly a better experience than killer... again MOSTLY. That being said...I have never wanted to quit dbd more than when I play solo queue. I played 5 solo queue games tonight. Game 1: Sandbagging teammate and not a single one of my teammates did a gen. Only one gen got done and it was me that did it. The sandbagging teammate also dc'd. Game 2: My teammates were all rank 13... I'm rank 3. During a chase 2 of my teammates dc'd. Shortly after... my last teammate dc'd. Game 3: Left to die on first hook with kindred on. Killer wasn't camping. Game 4: We all escaped. It was a close match but we all got out. Game 5: Teammate got downed very early and rage quit. We proceeded to get rekt by the killer which is whatever.

The issue is that people in solo queue are selfish, trolls, they dc, they don't do anything and I'm consistently put with low rank teammates. This wouldn't be an issue if this didn't happen 9/10 times I play solo queue.

The point of this thread is I want to hear your feedback. Can anyone else relate to this? As of right now I quit solo queue. I ask that if you leave feedback that you're respectful. Thx for reading.

Hi there! Yes, Solo que can be a crapshoot. It can be beautiful or disastrous lol

Please don't use numbers as a reason and here's why. I ahead a game this morning. It involved a 18 killer. The team was a 1, a 12 and a 9 with me being also a 9 atm (last week I was a 6 the week before and 11 the week before that an 8 lol - you get my point.)

I am not a great player. (and this is not me being modest) I out matched the level 1 - and that's not the first time that's happened. It does so a fair bit. As I am very aware of my lower skill level, I have decided the numbers area lie. :-D

More of the issues I seem to have are if any teammates are in SWF. Even two of them. Disaster usually.

Most of the others ones haven't been so bad. At least 1 out of 10 games is a DC. I carry on with the team. Maybe 1 in 25 I get a teammate who is like me and just plain bad but trying.

I feel your pain though. It's tough when the team isn't being a team. It can be very discouraging. I see hugs to you.

  • @Steel_Eyed said:

The problems listed were not inherently problems with a SWF. A solo queuer could sandbag or work with the killer, too. Sorry you had poor teammates.

Valid point. I have had solo teammates out me to killers and sandbag me etc. I can't say I haven't. They are much rarer than in an SWF though. At least in my experience.

Also, I wouldn't think the SWF wouldn't have too much of an issue being ID'd though. If they are playing in a fair manner - it makes them look good and many people wouldn't opt out of a lobby when they see a team. :-)

Thanks for that. It really does suck when you have mean teammates. I can handle "not good at the game" as I'm right there with them in terms of skill level but when it's purposefully done it does get old fast. :-( and it gives the decent SWF's a really bad rep.

  • Keep trying and I wil ldo that same. I admire you efforts. 😍

I wish we all were able to see both sides, sadly, some people are not wired with that ability.

Example: I loath camping and tunnelling - however - on the flip side I can see a killer's point of view when they say to us it will make use better in a chase or a loop. It's a valid POV.

POV and perspective is a funny thing sometimes.
