You're not kidding LOL. So true that I almost feel bad for them.

Are we really doing this? Barely out 24 hours and crossplay has PC and console players trash talking each other.
As if the community isn't divided enough as it is with the killer vs survivor mentality. I was hoping the crossplay would bring a bit more unity.
What a silly Dweet I am! 😕
Yup - it's happening!
Right now every other thread is this kinda wacky competition and resentment between the two. It's bizarre.
I posted as it's irritating me to see a bazillion of these. lol

I don´t think this is a platform related issue. there´s great players and potatoes on each and every one.
I know - I was - I'm sorry - being an arse. As all these I hate console players, I hate PC players are making me crazy. Console players are bad. PC players are bad.
We all need potato love.

Yeah, i dodged whenever i saw someone with red ping.
Of course, we can't see that anymore, so i can't dodge that anymore.
Also, WAY back, i used to dodge SWF.
Then they started really swarming the game, so dodging them would just mean more dodging than playing.
Haven't dodged for that reason since.
Now i don't dodge at all anymore.
I saw 3 Flashlights in the lobby 3 matches ago.
I'm Wraith.
I stayed.
I had fun, cause Lightburning Wraith is actually not that easy if the Killer player keeps that in mind and responds well to the situation.
Also, it's funny to uncloak right in front of them as they try to burn you: Free hit.
Bell guy is the one the totally freaks me out. Every time I see them as a killer my reaction is "oh F" I'm tempted to DC (I've never done that on purpose nor would I) but tempted.Instead
I face my fear! and die.
What is /was a red ping? Love ping or high or something different?
-
I just added another to my list. 3 Console players. Yup Dodge.
-
Actually so far every single console player I've been teamed up with left teammates to die on the hook.
So yeah - there's kinda that.

have you tested disabling cross play to see if it helps or hurts more?
I'm going to do that tomorrow and see. One full day on each.
A I do do it earlier and it was weird. Disabling it worked for about 2 games then back to long but 5 minutes not 15.
So I figure one full night on and one full off and see.

I agree with the others . Ignore him.
If he advertises - he assumes the risk. Full stop.
To me it's like if I unhook a person during EGC and the killer is near and I get hooked instead - I assumed the risk. I have no business being irritated at the killer. My choice.
Steamers choice.
Choices have consequences and that streamers should learn to accept them. (Even though you didn't do anything wrong. My point is that even if you did. Too bad for them.)

Translation: "Please give me a ez mode"
No.
Translation: Give me a fair game.
I'm survivor and I've suffered at the hands of SWF's. When I go into a game I have no idea if I'm going against the killer AND my own teammates or if I've got a fair game. So I completely understand how the killer must feel to deal with it.
On the other side I met the most wonder dual SWF team the other day. I could have hugged them through the internet.
I had no clue they were an SWF until after chat. One of them was with me at least half the game, doing gens with me, unhooking each other - helping the whole team. That's exactly how an SWF should be. I shouldn't know there is an SWF there by the way they are playing. Bill and one other teammate were alive at the end, his friend and myself were dead. lol Bill kept right on chugging along. :-)

I find the console player better skilled TBH
Which sucks for me as I'm a PC player who's barely out of potato pants most games but I work those potato pants hard!

the que time right now is ridiculous than ever.
not only red rank killer but also yellow rank killer right now has que time within 3 sec.
meanwhile survivor need to wait 10 to 20 mins to find a lobby.
and it is even a 1 vs 4 game lol.
I think this difference in the number of player base should clearly indicate how unbalanced the game is now.
so I can expect a really big huge buff for killer's is in coming right?
or
should we let the friendly sleeping bing bong boy be great again?
Just end up with a game against me. You'll never need a buff :-) You'll probably never need perks either :-)
But I can completely understand how you feel.

I'm talking bout que times. I have no problem with crossplay it being an excellent feature in the game. However, currently I'm just gonna wait it out if needed because I dont want to not play on crossplay haha.
Yes, and that's what I was commenting on. The wait times. Try both methods and see if one results in a quicker time frame than the other.
-

I'm tempted to turn off crossplay because of these long que times.
Test it out. Seriously.
At least they put a method in to opt out. Someone over their was actually thinking. That's good.
Don't go back and forth though. Play a day, or a week, on one and then switch to the other mode and see which one, if either, are producing better results for you.

@LittilAvindar said:
I don't know if BHVR simply is misguided by some belief that everyone just wants new content, or if they are money-driven to the point where they simply want to nickel and dime everyone until the game crashes and burns. They have gotten so far ahead of themselves that it would be crazy to try and fix bugs, considering it could actually ruin a huge chunk of the new stuff they added. As a result ,they get a game that's broken, yet so deep into it, they have no choice but to try and ignore it and hope that players just dismiss it. As far as any of the original bugs that have existed since the game's inception, I honestly don't think they're even considering going back to fix them. Until players do what they've done with games like Destiny 2 and PUBG, BHVR has zero actual incentive. They'll throw Freddy, Michael Myers, Pyramid Head, or some other licensed killer at you, and expect you to shut up and buy it. It's when I hear players say that they have no intentions of buying any new licensed characters until they fix the bugs that grabs their attention, but that's easily counter-able by simply making the new pay to play killer a pay to win killer, and every killer in main is guaranteed to make a purchase.
Very good points here. I've not been around from the beginning so there is a lot of history I'm missing that's obvious by what I've been reading. What you are saying makes sense.
New content is great and not a bad idea for consistency and attraction of new players too. It will keep a steady income providing you don't seriously screw up. Which atm - they are. Hopefully will wake up and see it. Give their heads a bit of a shake.
BHVR is not Microsoft. Microsoft is know for making the end user their guinea pigs and they can do it because the options for ease of use OS's for the majority are limited. BHVR cannot afford to go down that root. Unless they have some sort of sugar mama or daddy investor that loves them, or the game, so much they'll through money at it to keep it up. I do know one game I play that does have exactly that. Problem is sooner or later that Peron is going to get bored and stop throwing money at that game to keep it afloat.
Bugs - there are so many things with bugs that I can turn a blind eye to most bugs as most programmers simply aren't good enough for that kind of perfect. You are probably right - it's in so deep that debugging it simply isn't worth the mass amount of cost and efforts to correct. Also, you do run the risk of making it far, far worse. Catch22 really.
What they are doing isn't bugs at this stage. It's poor thinking and execution. Sooner or later that "Don't care", Willy-nilly attitude is going to turn into "Don't care was made to care" and that could prove to be to late for them. It would be a shame if that happens but it is the path they are on.
I wrote the original post because I like this community, the game is ok and the humans behind it seems like decent souls. Part of my job is risk assessment. I have a good trained nose for what's about to come as a result of that. I really want them to slow down, stop, think and plan properly. It would be a shame if they don't.

And I refuse to pay more money just for the privilege to play on something that doesn't have an FPS powered by an arthritic hamster. (Seriously i have all but 3 killers and a good chunk of survivors)
I hold out hope that s**t will eventually be gotten together, but that might mostly be my love for the game making me optimistic.

Okay so for some clarification about console (or my limited experience with switch):
- On PC I run at 60fps and could easily hit 144 despite running at over clocked graphics (I call it ultra plus). On switch I run at 15-20.
- Facing an oni, spirit, or playing on Lèry's/Ormond/Midwich/Hawkins kills my switch. My pc stays at 60 and is fine.
- Maps are so dark on switch. The game, Sanctum of Wrath, Family Residence; good luck seeing anything. On PC I can customise my shadow quality to ensure that I can see things with my ######### up eyesight.
On PC I can deal with Blendette squads. I may have difficulty seeing them but that's because of my eyes and once I've started a chase it's rare I'll lose it. On switch I can't see a pink claudette next to me let alone blendie in a Bush. On switch I have input delay and joy-con drift and get spun easily. On pc I have a mouse that's wired and fixes all my issues.
Switch does not sound like something I'd wish to play on. Especially with limited areas to correct if your vision is messed up. :-(

No not really. If I'm playing on PC I'll sit through it because I've got shadows set to minimum and AA off. On switch I can do neither and when I tell you they're invisible I promise they're actually invisible.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1536084#Comment_1536084
As a Blendette main myself (when I play survivor that is lol) I feel personally attacked.
Edit: Also the fact that consoles have inferior graphics and fps, making tracking significantly harder than it'll be on, say, a pc. Higher frames for them also means that they'll be able to spin and hide better than you'll be able to spin and track.
I'm sorry - you know I love you. XOXO ... even if you do play a blendette xo I accept you for who you are. Fully.
But two of you is too much in one game lol 🤗
Thank you. :-) as now I get it. I've never played on a console - ever - so I have no reference to the differences. That makes perfect sense!

I'm playing on the switch and see 4 pc Blendette's survivors.
That should explain what many people would be like.
Okay I feel really stupid - but I would, as a survivor even, avoid a 3 or even 2 blendette.
I can't understand why seeing a crossplay of one or another would make a killer dodge. I would think it would just be the blendettes full stop.
-
@FreakPrince said:

It really depends.
As killer (purple) i had full red ranks or i had 1 red 3 brown or 2/2, so overall pretty fair
While as survivor (purple) i mostly had yellow-brown rank killers, or 3 brown teamates against a red rank killer, so pretty unfair matches.
I found the starting several days - messed up. The last two seemed to be more stable. Like you the ranks were all over the place but in the game did you feel the game play itself was still matching the ranks?
Was the killer you were playing the one you normally play?

I mean, on the one hand it does screw over the remaining teammates, but on the other hand, I really don't want to stay in a match where I'm just not enjoying myself. I play games for fun, and if it's not fun, I won't force myself to stay in it for anyone else.
Are we though - screwing over teamamtes - really - we're dead anyway - just slightly sooner than we would be anyway?
There's where I'm going back and forth.
And the next shocker - teammates running killers right to you on purpose, who knew exactly who the killer was before the game started (said it in chat) and a 4% Kobe that works when you are trying to suicide LMFAO
There's a freaking shocker lol
I think de-pipping time so I'm with my own people. :-) I like my people. I miss my people.
Gotta love this game. --thud--

I'm honestly not in a bad mood about it. Frustrated as I'm useless to my team and dead fast anyway. So it's like should I just de-pip to get to a level I should be at? and I'm I a bad teammate for doing it? or..
@Mikeasaurus said:
Honestly I don't blame you. I came back to DbD after a couple days break and the first matches I get were Freddy's each running a mega-slowdown build that ended with 3 DC's and me dead on hook within the first minute of the match. I would honestly rather de-pip back to yellow than go against killers who sweat so hard. I just want a game that's enjoyable, not constant sweatfests 24/7 that just ruin the experience for me.
Exactly enjoyable... and technically my teammates loss a teammate anyway. Just a minutes sooner really lol
It feels wrong to do that though. So I'm humming about it and I wondered if others felt the same atm.

Yeah, none of my matches were stomps at all. Frankly I think I only got the kills I did because I'm starting to get the hang of the nurse and she can really end chases quickly if you get your blinks right. As I said, often it was near the end of the game after I'd only gotten a couple hooks because I suck at finding stealth players. I did get a few SWF matches, and they were tougher, but it wasn't like sweaty SWF, it just seemed like friends on Discord or something.
Overall it was starting to really feel good, I had plenty of losses, too, but didn't want to spam the thread.
Info is good and not spam :-)
It was nice to see the numbers and most importantly - knowing how you felt about the matches in general.
I've had number 2 killers and 20 teammates with incredibly satisfying matches for everyone. Enjoyable ones for all.
It was super nice and fun.

I didn't take a screenshot of every end of round match (I was actually started to take screenshots of post-game chat to see how often I get toxic people, nothing so far in a few dozen games, everything is either gg or no response) so there's a big gap between the first and second image, but for the past few days I've gotten a lot of really good matches. Many of them I only get my kills once the exit gates are open because I still suck as a nurse and lose track of people in half a second in tall grass/corn maps.
So overall even though some of the progress numbers for the players was off - you felt good about the matches (not the toxic dumb dumbs though but they'll never leave until the rest of us make it miserable for them to stay lol) but overall good, yes?
-
@[Deleted User] said:

Quality Assurance, Question / Answer - or both :-)
I am thinking the killer thing has to do with the character progression more than MMR.
If you have a main killer and try a new one, the progression is the same (level whatever) - that I think is having an impact, or was, on the MMR a bit.
A new killer needs to start off slowly and progress like a brand new player IMHO.
-
Ah so I get it - changing killers has had a reaction on your MMR. That could be the hours thing again?
It sounds like the "progression" thing that goes across "all survivors" and "all killers" is still there in the background. EG: If you are skilled on the one killer and try a new one, it's matching you up against the same level survivors as your main.
Does that make sense?

Okay I'm going to do this in all caps but not yelling - only for stressing.

There is a technical way to sell just the game. You do the financially transaction away from steam and then "gift" the game to the user. Both parties have to be trustworthy beyond a doubt though.

Because I’m “the random” I’m left to die. That’s my point. It’s frustrating.
Because those types of people are human garbage.
Not all SWF are like that but sadly a lot are.

I think hes talking about this lag...bug...i dunno what where survivors can prevent you to hook them by stunning you in front of the hook as they wiggle out, i would call that lag switching cause often when it happened to me the survivor got DCed right after it
Ah, thank you!
That makes sense. It would cause that kind of stuttering.
I hope they don't run into the wrong person while using it - they'll regret it really quickly lol.

Thats not a new hack. Just good old fashioned lag switching
I'm surprised people use them in this game and kinda surprised as many people still use that as they do.
