  • You're preaching to the choir my man. Survivors mains plug their ears and go la la la "We've been nerfed too!" As if their nerfs are even remotely comparable to nerfs killers get.

The devs care more about the survivor experience than the killer experience. All one needs to do is look at the state of killers when the game launched to realise that

Why would people select killer when there's such a disparaging difference between how good a survivor has to be to survive vs how good a killer has to be just to get a 2k or better. Just ignore the fact that a killer CAN get a 4k or 2k

A killer is required to be SOOO much better to get his kills than a survivor ever has to be to escape.

Consoles there significantly more SWF teams because of the fact that we have the party system, theres no need to make sure they have anythinf installed like discord, ventrilo, teamspeak etc. And it's literally like 3 button presses to invite them into your chat. Anyone who thinks there's not more SWF on console PROBABLY doesn't understand how much easier it is party up on console

Furthermore the game absolutely should be balanced around the SWF. It's an asymetrical game the fact the people even have to ask this is baffling to me. Imagine if people were asking if evolve should have been balanced around individual teams mates as hunters rather than the team as a whole

No the chase is NOT a 1v1 the chase is still a 1v4 because you're goal as a killer to end that chase as fast as possible because every second you are in a chase is a second someone is doing a gen. So while you might be chasing ONE survivor you're still racing to end that chase while every other survivor is doing gens

  • Woah woah woah, calm down there. You're talking about buffing killers that's heresy wouldn't want to anger the survivor mains that run this game.

  • A good one.. that doesn't get nerfed before it's even released 🤣

    "they can be annoying"

Here relies the problem. Game should be fun and not annoying.

Fun is subjective, some people like the challenge, there are aspects of dark souls I find annoying but lots of people like. So I don't think that's a good argument to make

  • @NoShinyPony said:

Solo survivor (at red ranks) is a lot worse than one year ago. It becomes more and more frustrating, so I'm playing SWF a lot more often.

I'm on PS4, so my experience is also suffering from bad game optimization/poor performance. It was also way better one or even two years ago.

You could say, I'm not that happy.

Two years ago this game was so survivor sided it wasn't even funny

  • @DwightOP said:

I hated every "in 1 trial" challenge, it's really forcing you to play for that and sometimes throw the game.

They can be annoying but I never found any of them to be that egregious with the exception of some of the tome 4 challenges namely sacrifice all survivors in the basement

  • @hinoutoumei said:

i'm not sure if you were dropped one too many times on the head as a kid, but healing other survivors twice to full health state , has very little to do with me when said survivors are literally shoving me out of the way on heal attempt, healing themselves , disconnecting, running away , etc etc.

I am really tired of responding to these pathetic comments. My inability to complete this one specific challenge actually has nothing to do with me. So do yourself a favor and shut it.

ACTUALLY it has almost everything to do with you because you have three team mates and I highly doubt everyone of them is dcing or just not letting you heal them. If you were talking about killer challenges I might give you a little more leeway since some challenges can be completely negated by just ONE survivor dcing (looking at you "sacrifice 4 survivors in the basement in one trial" )

But your crying about such simple challenges and in such a childish way won't make anyone take your seriously

  • @hinoutoumei said:

I think I can safely say that is not the case for most people. Glad it worked out for you. Unfortunately, you aren't the only one playing this game.

I can safely say you're wrong and you should heed you're own advice

thank you for your opinion. I do not give a crap about it. Please refer to my previous comment

let me post it again here, since you are obviously too lazy to read it.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/928576#Comment_928576

I'm done responding to or posting any further comments on this post. Have a great day.

Yeah except I'm not even that good. All you did was whine and winge about how hard the challenges are. Without even stating what was hard about them. All you did was say "OMG I got to do them in a single trial that's absurd!"

You want a response. Run bond, run botany , run well make it and bt. Along with ranger med kit. If you run partner tracking perks there's no reason you can't get two health states healed in a single match.

Safely rescue a survivor during egc, bring BT EVENTUALLY you're gonna get a map where a killer camps for a kill at EGC. Proc your by and body block challenge achieved.

As for blinding twice in a trial literally just run to a strong loop, that the killer is forced to break the pallet, blind them , run to next strong loop throw the pallet repeat, two blinds in one match, easy.

Next time if you want legitimate response you should make legitimate claims, don't just whine and write in all caps as if that makes the statement more valid, it doesnt

THE TOMES/RIFT HAVE RUINED THE GAME. INSTEAD OF THIS GAME BEING ABOUT PLAYING THE GAME, IT IS BASICALLY ALL REVOLVING AROUND COMPLETING CHALLENGES IN THE TOMES. IT'S KILLING THE GAME. INSTEAD OF FIXATING ON PLAYING THE GAME, I DAILY FIND MYSELF INSTEAD FIXATING ON HOW I AM GOING TO COMPLETE THE NEXT CHALLENGE. THIS RESULTS IN ME BEING A BAD PLAYER AND RUINING MATCHES FOR MY OTHER TEAM MATES AS I CHASE THEM AROUND ATTEMPTING TO HEAL THEM, OR TRY TO BLIND THE KILLER BECAUSE YOU ARE FORCING US TO DO THIS TWICE IN 1 TRIAL.

ENOUGH OF THESE FORCED DO THIS IN ONE TRIAL SHENANIGANS. IF YOU AREN'T GOING TO REMVE THESE IN ONE TRIAL NONSENSE CHALLENGES THAN I AM NOT INTERESTED IN PLAYING THE TOMES/RIFT ANYMORE.

IF HOWEVER, YOU WISH TO BE LIKE

    "HEAL 10 HEALTH STATES"

    "TRAP X SURVIVORS"

    "UNHOOK X SURVIVORS"

THAN FINE. BUT ENOUGH OF THIS "IN ONE TRIAL" BS. IT'S RUINING THE GAME AND CAUSING MATCHES TO BE ABOIUT NOTHING BUT FINISHING THE TOME INSTEAD OF ACTUALLY PLAYING THE GAME. IT'S BAD FOR THE GAME, AND NEEDS TO GO.

I'VE BEEN STUCK ON THE SAME DUMB "HEAL 2 SURVIORS FULLY IN ONE TRIAL WITH BOTANY KNOWLEDGE" CHALLENGE FOR OVER A MONTH. NO ONE WANTS TO BE HEALED AND CHASING THEM DOWN JUST RESULTS IN LOSING THE MATCH.

    GET RID OF THIS GARBAGE.

Umm chill, these challenges literally are not hard at all

Literally the hardest challenges are the ones require 3+ basement hooks/kills in a single trial and it's not because hooking survivors in the basement is that hard (with basement perks) it's because salty survivors quit once they realize what you're going for.

On survivor end the EGC challenges can be a little frustrating but none are so absolutely challenging that it's that bad. Healing 2 health states... Really I do that on the regular as survivor. Yes in a single trial. If that is one of the challenges you're struggling with. Then sorry you're just not a very good survivor

I've completed all 4 tomes so I'm not just saying that either.

  • @MrsGhostface said:

I agree that swf isn’t the issue, it’s the matchmaking. When I play against swf my rank, I don’t usually run into issues, but when I’m a green rank going again purple and red rank swf? Seems impossible.

I wish I could agree with you but once you get to red rank you realize it's not even the rank difference that's makes playing killer such an insufferable mess. Granted, it doesn't help the issue. But once you get to that point if you look at things objectively you'll realize how much more do trol survivors have over the game than the killer does.

Yup and that is why i wish more people would look at it more in depth.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/941285#Comment_941285

Yeah you just said it yourself, they're relaxing yet when they're on comms they still loop and waste time of the killer.

And still most of them escape with ease.

    Why?

Because playing survivor is the easiest part about dbd.

A survivor only have to worry about 1 person, trying to get into the mind of 1.

A killer plays against 4 minds and have to keep track of 4 people at all time.

Trying to keep 4 people busy as much as possible.

Now imagine when they use comms.

1 runs to a strong loop and the is like "nah F it, I'm not chasing you there. That takes to much time".

Now the survivors tells his/her friends "he left me and is comming to you"

So 3 others are ready for him and have a head start, while the 1 that was chased gets back on the gen with 2 others.

Now repeat that and think about how that match looks like on both sides.

Pretty relaxed for the 4 survivors and pretty difficult to play against as killer right?

That's why swf is so op even if they are relaxing.

Like i said, i play always solo and rarely break a sweat.

I play solo about 80% of the time as survivor but when my team and I are on we rarely lose more than 1 person and that's usually our rando( we're three man group) if we do lose more than one it's usually because we made an egc play that we really didn't need to make

  • @ZupBear said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/941250#Comment_941250

I don't agree, but I understand why you feel that way. I am a survivor main so I may be biased. I find some killers to be less/more balanced than others, so running something on Legion versus on Meyers could be very different builds.

I generally don't find anything wrong with SC and Urban against killers, but I get the rest.

Urban isn't so bad but self care completely negates the need for any team mate interaction I can 99 myself work a gen and heal myself by having self care you can 100% focus on just doing gens because you have no need to interact with any survivor and it allows you to bring better add ons such as flashlight, map, tool box . The med kits are arguably the worst add ons because there's so many good healing perks in the game

  • @Raptorrotas said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/941181#Comment_941181

Well according to survivors, most survivors and especially swfs play to "relax" or "have fun with their buds" instead of actually trying to win.

It doesnt even matter that killers apparantly have a ~60-65% killrate if most of those are either bad rank 20's or not even trying to win.

Not even trying to win and still staying at a perceived "only" 40% escape rate. Its AMAZING IT IS THAT HIGH despite apparantly most swf not playing to win.

Now imagine what'd happen if they did.

Lol that's a good point I completely forgot about that, to be honest I don't think that statement is true but if it was, that just proves even more so how much more furstrating it is to play killer. When there are games I have to fight tooth and nail just to get a 2k 🤣😭

  • @Dennis_van_eijk said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/941181#Comment_941181

The reason why the survival rate is so low is because they make 1 crucial mistake.

They count the amount of survivals of all ranks.

How easy was it when you first started playing dbd?

I think you died more than you escaped.

Now i don't know what rank you are nor do i care, but you escape more than before right?

Now imagine red ranks with all meta perks, flashlights, toolboxes, fireworks/crackers, med kits and all their best add ons.

They get so many easy escapes that a lot of time the killer has to play try hard.

Believe me, I play both sides at rank 1 and i escape about 70% of the time (I think it would be even more tho) as a solo survivor.

Hardly breaking a sweat because of all the jungle gyms and god loops.

And i don't even use meta perks or any items whatsoever.

I even played without perks and items at rank 1 with survivor and still escaped most of the time.

Now try that as a killer and try to get all 4, or at least to pip (not black pip), your chances of succeeding that is less than 50%.

So if the devs want to show real numbers than they should do so by rank colour and not an overall score.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/941196#Comment_941196

Here is one who understands they real facts and numbers of both sides.

Wish there were more who looked at it like this 👍

The fact that people even try to argue that playing survivor is not easier than killer shows a fundamental lack of knowledge about how this game is played.

  • @ZupBear said:

Mostly a question for killers. Are there any builds you won't run/feel bad about running because they feel mean, unfair, or just plain would be frustrating/no fun to play against?

Mostly about perks but add-ons, offerings and items are of course included if you feel they're applicable. (I just respectfully ask that this not devolve into whether keys/moris are unfair on their own or not as that discussion has been had before -- however specifying whether a key or mori feels more unfair with specific perks/add-ons/offerings is fine.)

I mean something along the lines of running Corrupt Intervention, Hex: Ruin, Pop Goes the Weasel, an Discordance all on one build, or an Oni with Nurse's Calling, where it feels like you're just making it a frustrating match for the other side.

Lmao unfair, with god loops, god pallets, and perks that allow for multiple mistakes to be made, and insanely fast and easy gen repairs, no I don't find any build for killers to be cheap because even the POTENTIALLY strongest builds are easily negated because they involve totems which have trash spawn locations to begin with

As a survivor though I do feel bad if I run DS exhaustion perk, adrenaline and self care of fixated/urban

  • @GoddamnBananas said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/933378#Comment_933378

Imagine actually believing Survivor is that much easier to play. Especially when they've released the stats, and the average survival rate is only about 40%. And that was months ago, it might be even lower now.

Imagine that I play both and I can objectively says they are much easier not even just from a strategy perspective but from a objectives to complete perspective.

In order for killer to get a kill without a Mori he needs THREE hooks that's 12 hooks total just from a NUMBERS perspective that's harder to achieve than repairing 5 generators. But WAIT THERES MORE. It takes MINIMUM 2 hits to down a target from full health without a ohd ability. So now you're looking at POTENTIALLY 24 hits you have to get. BUT WAIT there's STILLLLL more. You also have to account for steptic which can add a third hit on BT, MoM, DS which basically gives 1 full minute of immunity, yeah you can down them and slug but that's a fullinute of baby sitting them or running around looking for the next survivor and if they have unbreakable they don't even need a second survivor to get up.

But wait there's STILL more, your objective can run away from you, hide from you, doesn't have predetermined spawns, doesn't give you random skill checks that can make it easier to down them.

This isn't even opinion, this is just a straight up FACT that playing survivor is easier on every level.

Survivors have ONE goal repair five generators which give you skill checks allowing for faster completeion, they have predetermined spawns, they don't move from you, everything else is optional

  • @Poochkips said:

I mean, it's really only stupid strong when the survivors are good...

Not true while it's infinitely more annoying swf negates the need for multiple perks, regardless of how GOOD the survivors are you can't say that that's strong..

I don't need kindred, I don't need bond, I don't need better together, further more perks like third seal and knock out are completely negates by SWF whether it not the team is actually good that's still powerful

  • Survivors much more accommodating that's rich 🤣

Survivors are dobbit accomdate anything in this game hardly ever unless they do poorly then they leave their arms and beg for free bp like peasants .but if they are running bully simulator 2.0 then they don't care about the killer experience. It's all about how well they are doing

That being said I have completed the whole thing and I don't think cooperation from either side is need to get them done, the only thing that usually hinders killer challenges is DCs

  • @T2K said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/934995#Comment_934995

Maybe lets try to see it with a change. So if the gates are further away and/or out of los you would increase the escape chance for a single survivor drastically. How would that be ok? The "gate game" versus one survivor is hard as it is. First you need to find the hatch or the last survivor and be lucky enough that he doesnt get to the hatch while in chase. Also he could have a key, be already at the hatch camping it or know where it is. If you manage to close the hatch the survivor still could have a key. If he doesnt you need to decide which gate you check first. And the surv could already be at it because he just waited for you to close the hatch. 50/50 you go to the right gate and the hatch is close to the exit gates. If the two gates are close by to each other its at least a little advantage. If not well then its a total get lucky thing. So in theory preventing close gate spawns will add to all the advantages a single survivor already has in this scenario. He has always a chance to escape. I wouldnt raise this chance even higher

Thank you someone actually talking with some sense

  • Oni cause I love it when good killers get nerfed to Oblivion

    Seriously though hag is bae

  • If there's 3 survivors alive the doors could literally next to each other and they could still get out. The only way they can't is if the killer never leaves the doors but that won't happen cause then it's just a stake mate.

Progress on doors doesn't regress if it gets down to one survivor and opening the gates their "chance" of escaping SHOULD be very close to zerom I'm so tired of this entitled behavior like the survivors are entitled to the ability to get out no matter what. If it's down to one the team already screwed up royally

  • @FancyMrB said:

Yah, as a Killer or Survivor this situation is not fun.

The gates should spawn across from one another, or at least not on the same wall.

Yeah then the killer has NO chance of killing the survivor and quite frankly the killer has to do all the work to get to one survivor in EGC so if it's going to favor one side it should be the killer. I don't know why this is so hard for some of you to understand. If it's get to the 2 gates and there's only one survivor they have already messed up 10 times if you don't account for moris. That's just accounting for lives if you account for bad plays they've messed up even more than that generally speaking .

They even get a chance at a free escape if they do nothing called the hatch. If you find it that's another chance they lost. But if they have a key it's not even lost.

I fail to see the logic in y'all's reasoning.

  • @DanteMorello said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/933833#Comment_933833

Yes exactly. After all their crying around about minor perk changes of theirs or even about bug fixes I think they just complain all the time. Only the survivors! Especially when their control bug that enabled a too powerful attack got fixed and they went mental over not being able to use it anymore. Oh wait....

Lol never said that only survivors cey, but the stuff the cry about is so trivial vs the overall balance of the game it might as well be nothing.

There are over arching problems on the killer side that completely break the game for killers. But I give you A for effort

  • Until the issue with gens and to a lesser but still noticable extent perks that are too good get fixed killers are going to tunnel

  • @SafetyOff said:

They are bridging the gap between solo and SWF. Solo will NEVER be as strong as SWF without voice comms.

Why are people even saying such dumb things. Killer will have advantage vs solo because their power budget is balanced around 1 person, vs solos, it is spread between 4 people. This does not mean killer always wins. This means if we have perfect balance in the game( which we dont) ignoring skill, killer would win more often which is fine. But as we see by the data provided by the devs, killers are already winning significantly more than survivors.

If you are doing SWF(premades) your party needs to suffer some sort of debuff to offset the comms and usually teamwork/perk synergies used.

They may not ever by as strong as SWF but if they are trying to bring them up to SWF strength that automatically means killers suffer even more

  • Little late for me since already did all the killer challenges but I was easily averaging about 3-4 games per challenge the exceptions being things like getting 25 hits or we it was on survivors

  • @Hex_Stalk said:

I honestly didn't realize that it blinked until you mentioned it. Nice little detail

But its ridiculous that you can finish mending and get hit by frenzy again. they mend so quickly. And now survs are in control of deep wounds instead of legion

I agree but the devs are happy to handicap killers left and right unfortunately

  • Guess I'm the only one who had this sentiment 🤣 owell

  • If you're talking just from a logistical standpoint here you go

    In no particular order

Decisive strike, adrenaline, borrowed time, deliverance, kindred, self care Sprint burst, balanced landing, dead hard, lithe, inner strength, object of obsession, spine chill.

Metal of man COULD be in here if you can consistently get it.

These are pretty much your meta perks top of the top

You are making a generalization, these video's showcase a problem that occurs, do you actually think the only time someone was genrushed was in these two vids? Do you think that there are so many killers that complain about genrushing but we are all just whiny babies that need to git gud? No, maybe there is actually a gen rushing problem and it should be addressed and not constantly ignored and shut down

Nah us killer main need to just shutup and take our bully sessions like a champ that's their mentality lol

I can’t precisely answer that since I don’t know what goes on behind the scenes but he still has the dev tag, and the person I quoted doubted any dev played killer often.

If he has little to no input on balance then he's not a dev that matters as far as front end balancing is concerned . Nothing on him if he is a dev I'm sure he does important work but I'm concerned with the devs that have a direct affect on the direction and actual balance of the game

  • @GrootDude said:

They do play killer, this is a proven fact if you watch Almo, Peanits, or Mcote play. If you’re going to make that claim, please prove it.

More than half the player base plays both survivor and killer.

I doubt the devs player killer very often otherwise they wouldn't have been in the state they were in 2 years ago. That alone is proof enough that they must rarely play killer

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/878298#Comment_878298

I agree With everything but one thing the trap wich can't be disarmed thats not fair at all You could for example trap the god window every map have and thats not fair isnt the window neither wich should be always closed like the Mac Millan window, or the zepelin window, but still. Unless Is a pink addon that would be interesting that would be for sure an ultra rare addon. But should be abled to he destroyed if they have the sabo perk not toolboxes but sabo perk and that for every trap that would nice

I want you to read very carefully what you said, to trap the GOD window would be unfair, the very fact that there IS a god window is unfair lol

  • So I actually just completed the challenge. While carrying my last survivor I prayed to the entity that he didn't DC lol

He ALMOST escapes through hatch though chased him to a pallet I double trapped with hag teleports and Mann the double trap payed off.

  • I'll never be a survivor main because the role is mind mumbling brain dead. Eapecially on certain maps. But I play it so that I get both perspectives that way when I listen to survivors .... Address their concerns I can accurately weigh how warranted they are.

I just think it's a shame killers are so much weaker.

  • Well I just completed it I use hag with agitat, mad grit, iron grasp and monstrous shrine.

Didn't take as long as I was expecting to (because of how many DC's I was EXPECTING to deal with) your biggest hindrances isn't going to be the challenge itself it's going to be survivors DCing the challenge itself so long as you're running a basement build is very doable.

  • @Perelie said:

Because I want to know, why is that such a big problem? There must be a reason, no one ever cuts me that kind of slack. So what's the difference?

Problem is you're assuming it's a grudge against you until the end of the match killers have no idea who put in the most work it's strictly whoever happens to be the last person.

I don't do this precisely because of people like you the entitlement to "I did so much work I should get to escape my team was sooo bad" free escapes create entitled survivors. Either directly or indirectly

  • The challenge would not be hard at all if it wasn't for DCs that's where the problem lays ultimately. It'll be interesting to see what the survivor challenges are once I finish these last 2 killer challenges

I would have had it already if it wasn't for DCs literally just had a match where I got 3 down and knew where the last one was

  • @kosmi said:

I did that challenge with wraith took me 3 games to do it. I did it without agitation and iron grip. So the tactic i used was to chase them and get them if i can on death hook while doing gens i was guarding always 3 gens near basement so when i down them i would always be near basement. Chalenge is not that hard but it need some thinking and tactics. Also i did that while ban system was up so they did not dc. Also i did that chalenge in red rank 3.

But without ban system it will be hard to do it. I can guarantee that ban system helped me finished that chalenge.

Ahh gotcha. I'd be very surprised if the entitled survivor community didn't back last horribly over that idea lol.

  • Low tier players are not your longer term base they play put the game down and move on to something else balancing around them is guaranteed to end the lifespan of the game prematurely

  • @RaSavage42 said:

I would say that learning something new wouldn't hurt that bad...

Survivors learned how to path, loop, Gen spawns, totem spawns, killer tells, perk combos

Killers learned how their power work, how add-ons affected their power, pathing, loops, survivor perk tells, perk combos, Gen progress

There's probably more but what's wrong in adding something unique to the most tedious thing in the game

Also the only time skillchecks change is with Ruin, overcharge, and maddness

Maybe I didn't make it very clear, but I'm not disagreeing with on your change per say, I just foresee survivors whining about essentially having to learn like 10+new skill check behaviors

But how about changing skillchecks based on status effects

I actually made a post on my suggestions of what they would be

Could work depending on what they do. But I think survivors would whine about having to learn however many new types of skill check patterns that would cause lol

When I saw the dev Q&A stream I laughed so hard when they said deep wound couldnt be abused anymore. Well at least the killer cant abuse it anymore xD

Did you see by chance the otz video where he stabbed the survs in an everlasting circle of get frenzy hit, mend, get frenzy hit, mend, etc xD?

No I didn't but that sounds funny 😀 and a lot like no one thought about WHEN to mend I'm assuming this was on small maps because I find that working/happening on the large to medium size maps unlikely

  • I'm actually genuinely surprised that so many people are against the idea of making survivors have to actually think about whether they want to heal or not vs it just being a brain dead decision that really has little to no thought involved in it . And it actually puts a skill element into the gens which they desperately need.
