Twins, Hags and Huntress for me. If I go against one of these I just expect to be camped/tunneled asap.
-
Same here. Last test was amazing for me.
I'm almost at 5 thousand hours and I keep getting paired with people who have 100 hours and urban evade and self care eveywhere.
Edit: Just the other day I got a team mate on my team that didnt even know what a trickster was. Someone who has never seen a killer shouldnt be on my team.

Equip Power Struggle and Decisive Strike, if you manage to DS the killer, then it still counts towards the challenge
Can confirm. Just DSed a killer while having power struggle on and it counted. Cheers!

It's due to the new thing where you can't stun the killer if they're on the same side as you. An oversight the devs didn't see when making the change.
#########. how am I suppose to make it work then?

I am also tired of people making assumptions which role I am playing depending on my post.
Doing gens instead of crouching behind rocks or trying to get killers attention are bad plays. Also suiciding immediately instead of hanging on dooms your team. We are all in control of these. Why are we giving killers "free wins" again?
Camping/tunneling are just one of the things that people get upset about in this game. And this one could be dealt with simply by teaching killers they can't get away with it like they do now. We can lower their sbmm actually without bhvr.
So yes I am blaming survivors for making really bad decision. And it is too simple to figure out. If killer camps from the start you pointing at him or whatever is just giving him more kills. Why people do this again?
Also I am glad if I rot on that hook as long as my team gets out and show killers that some people actually use their brains.
Everything I got from your post is if survivors do this mistake = they have no brain.
Have you thought about the fact that this is an issue about solo q mostly? You can have 9548095784096809 IQ, solo Q wont make it easier for you just because you're intelligent.
-
Because a lot of them only play SWF and think they're good because of it so they dont feel the need to improve.

Can we get some paragraphs in there?
Survivors are to blame for not punishing camping imo. They reward it and people will keep playing that way.
Also camping/tunneling is sometimes neccessary and it's not done to provoke others or something like that. I know it can be frustrating tho.
No, survivors are no to blame because SBMMR doesn't punish camping/tunneling.
I'm getting really bored of people just finding excuses for camping in tunneling. Yes, they are "strats" if you are bad at the game and really need a kill. Otherwise, they're just free wins against solo players.

It was less common in my experience. You would still see Self Care obviously, but now I regularly have matches where there are 3 Self Cares on the post-match summary, and that used to be a lot more rare.
1 person running self care is already dead weight. it's like a 3v2. From experience, people who run self care are also awful at chases and go down in 2 seconds.
-
@xenotimebong said:
Killers never run Sloppy anymore and they seem to run back to the hook 90% of the time and interrupt altruistic healing, so Self Care came back into favour a bit since it lets you patch yourself up without any real hit to efficiency as long as you don’t use it like a baby Claudette.
The cure for the Self Care epidemic is Sloppy Butcher.
Like people stopped using self care when the killer had sloppy. They still used it.
-
IMO make your choice is only an issue on killers like wraith and spirit, which already proxy camp anyway. Every spirit/wraith I go against, even if they are on the other side of the map, as soon as someone is unhooked then just go right back to the hook.
-
@Impose said:
Ask yourself this. Why is it bad behavior? Is it not your job as a killer to kill the survivors? Why is proxy camping a "bad" thing to do? Simply because it causes survivors to not have fun?
These ridiculous arbitrary rules this community has put on itself is as much a problem with the game as the devs that keep screwing it up.
Stop thinking that tunneling is toxic, its not, its smart. Tunneling a weak link out of the game is one of the best ways to bring the balance back killer sided. Proxy camping is one of the absolute best ways to continue macro pressure. You don't need to tunnel someone off the hook, but you can chase the rescuer. Now you KNOW you have one person injured who isn't doing gens, and you're chasing someone else. You have 50% of the survivor workforce off their objectives.
Killer is literally standing next to the hooked survivor and not letting anyone near? Well that sucks, but the killer now loses. 3 survivors do 5 gens by the time a survivor goes from 1st hook to dead, assuming survivor doesn't miss skill checks.
I love these types of comments of "killers arent here to make your game fun", but then the same people come on the forums crying about dead hard OP, swf bad, teabagging bad and gens being done fast unfun.

TBF, whilst BBQ helps it's still 1/4 of the killers perks. I personally wouldn't mind a basekit 25-50% boost to bp for killers. They do play the harder and more stressful role after all.
Sure, if they give the same boost for solo survivors.
-
Killer good survivor bad thread type
-
"everyone knew". No. Last test was actually amazing for a lot of people. Idk what they changed though, because right now, it's not that great.
-
Show it in the lobby so I can dodge them in solo Q as well. More often than not they leave you to die on hook.
-
@Barbarossa2020 said:
This game is very unnoobie friendly. Especially for killers, i'd advise playing survivor first until you can get some bp and a few perks.
Playing Killer with no decent perks or addons will make it hell for you.
I completely disagree. Killer was always way easier than survivor at rank20/low MMR

Original post. The "rulebook" joke is like the new "nea is the entity" joke to this community. Can it die already?

What I'm hinting at is that you didn't provide any solutions. OP isn't arguing that tracking is hard with Iron Will, mind gaming loops is. You cannot rely on blood and scratch marks when you're trying to win a loop against a Survivor, they will never let you. To simplify, you are not countering Iron Will by looking at blood and scratch marks, because that's not where the main issue is.
And, you don't counter a decent Spirit by walking, because that's not how a good Spirit plays. Sure, from time to time they'll go for those big brain long phases, but the way you play a Spirit is that you phase in shorter bursts and the second a decent Spirit notices something is off, they'll end the phase and slap you.
Is that logical enough for you? Both things can be an issue at the same time and both of them are worthy of discussing, which is what OP is trying to do.
I didnt provide any solutions because Iron Will is fine. It was literally the first thing I said in my post. :)

@Munqaxus said:
I think Strider should be reverted if Spirit wasn't a problem.
I totally agree. Strider was fine. They should have changed the killer itself not a perk.

You can also counter losing by simply winning instead.
Can you now use something logical in your argument or are you not willing to discuss this topic without silly remarks?

I like getting a mixed bag of players. It reminds me of how a real horror movie plays out. Of course it’s frustrating when you’re the one hanging on a hook for an hour while Bill hides in a locker, but that’s totally what someone would do in a movie. He’s like, “I’m not going out there! There’s a psycho with a chainsaw running around!”
Also, I don’t really care about ranking and winning, so my opinion is probably wrong.
This game stops being scary after 5 hours. I should not be having players with 5 hours in my team if I almost have 5k.
-
Iron will is fine. You can counter it be seeing blood and scratch marks on the ground.
You can also counter spirit by walking instead of running, but if she doesnt see scratch marks she will know you're walking so you havent gone very far.
Can we stop with posts about "op" perks? In some years there will be nothing worth running if things keep being nerfed.

If I win a couple on survivor, I seem to get default clothing 50 hr teammates the next game. Seems to be SBMM's way of making sure we lose 50% of our matches. It's a really irritating and contrived way to do it, if it's true. If the game is so unbalanced at the high end where great survivors rarely lose...make changes. Don't pair vets with complete noobs to look good on a spreadsheet like some middle management bot.
I don't think it's a matter of "great survivors never lose".
And I dont think the game is putting you with people with 50 hours on purpose. It simply is just not working as good as it was on the last test.
-
The comments on this thread are absolutely hilarious.
"YoU tEabAgGEd BeCaUSe tHe kILlEr dIdNt FoLlLOw tHe SurViVor RuLe BoOk", yet the same ones are complaining you teabagged. Doesn't that also make you the survivors to follow the "killer rule book"?

If it's on, it's clearly not working as good as on the last test. I'm getting all over the place team mates.
-
Is your name on steam the same? so other solo q survivors can avoid you in the lobby

Attractive female killers: huntress, pig, spirit, plague, susie, julie.
Only 3 of them aren't really "attractive" (nurse can't even see what she looks like, hag and charlotte).

So just to be clear. When i say 4 man slug to bleed out. I mean, that the killer slugs all 4 survivors and doesn´t pick them up. He just stands there till all 4 are bled out. I supposed that this behavior was extremely rare, as i haven´t seen that in years.
I feel bad for you. Your matches must be terrible.
The one I showed you, that blight tunneled a nea to death, and then let us 3 bleedout while nodding. This is not THAT rare. And no one in the team was toxic btw, not that I have seen, surely I was not.
-
Genrushing does exist.
Example: 4 survivors bringing BNP, prove thyself and whatever else.
How it is mostly used and incorrect: Killer was in a chase for 3 minutes and lost a gen.

Oh i never claimed that killers are not toxic or that they don´t do those things. But usually someone in the team triggers the killer beforehand. I play like 80% survivor matches. Bond is usually part of my build and it´s amazing what you see with this. People that BM the killer and then play the innocent, people being afk or leading the killer on purpose to other survivors.
Some teams must be very triggering in the lobby, unless some people can just equip insidious during the match to camp?
-
My survivor queues are instant so idk what you mean :)

I haven´t seen a 4 man bleed out slug in years. Do they really exist? Or do you just make things up to justify survivors BM?
Just earlier today, but sure....
-
I've been getting this as well I hope it's a bug.

I'd rather go against sweaty killers with similar skills to mine with an equal skilled team, than still go against sweaty killers with a bad team, so SBMM is exactly what I'm looking for.

Ok.

That's actually just false.
Generally, the better the player, the less likely they are to want SBMM.
Guess I'm still trash at 4k+ hours then...
Or maybe I want to go against people of similar skills as me, and have those of same skill on my team and don't want easy 4ks or get completely stomped because of people who got boosted to the same place as me because they only play SWF.

Though Im not agree about grinding perks on all characters equal to need food my entire life.
If you're not comparing the two what was your post about exactly?

Unfortunately people in this community pay too much attention to what streamers have to say instead of playing the game for themselves and seeing if it's good or not.

I wonder how long this combo will be "meta" once the sbmmr goes live.
As much of a meta as it is now. So nothing will change there. But I'd rather go against it all games with competent team mates than go against it all games still with potatos on my team, so SBMM is better
-
Pretty much this. It's time to move on, there's more 10+ slowdown perks to choose from.
-
@Crowman said:
Has anything really changed? People are still complaining about ruin+undying, because they still don't want to find and cleanse hex totems despite having access to perks and even an item that makes finding them easy.
People dont complain about undying for it being OP. People complain about undying + ruin + tinkerer because they see it every game, specially when its against a spirit/blight/nurse. Makes you think why the strongest killers in the game use it, but lower tier killers dont.
