Wow that's...honestly a bit ridiculous when it comes to reporting for that then. Is there anything I could report him for (I'm a new player)? He was super rude to me in end game chat.

I'd report it for unsportsmanship.. There's an icon just for that. Slugging and body camping is a viable tactic if other people are still alive and you know they're around.. but with you being the sole survivor? They're definitely being a ****

  • @Almo said:

I remember when my wife was playing Warcraft III. She'd win with a Night Elf archer rush, and they'd call her a noob for using that tactic. Well... if you lose to a noob tactic... :D

If you lose to a Ryu doing infinite hadokens, you deserve to lose ;p

  • Depends on the situation, really. Lots of people use both urban evasion and sprint burst. Depends on what the rest of your build is. Honestly, I prefer not get spotted in the first place if I can help it.. but if I had to pick a mobility perk, I'd go for Lithe, because then I can use the regular sprint and get a speed boost by vaulting over stuff if I'm in a chase. (when I run Lithe, I usually pair it with Quick & Quiet + Dance With Me, to make it quiet and scratchless if I use it in a chase.. or just quiet if I want to get somewhere fast without the killer knowing where I am)

  • No, it's not, because you eventually bleed out. It's bad sportsmanship for sure.. But not holding the game hostage because mechanics in the game made it end eventually.

  • It's just the way she is. More killers need passives. And heck, it would be neat for survivors to have passives as well, but it would mean everyone would play the ones that let them genrush the fastest..

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

And this is exactly why we shouldn't remove SWF or penalise them for playing together.

Yeah really. And heck, I've had great plays as a solo player as well as a group player.. just because I'm playing by myself doesn't mean I can't pull great plays with other randos if I see what they're up to.

Was thinking the same thing. I was like...If I'm "garbo" whats that make you?

Yeah I have some people try to give me that kind of ######### sometimes.. I'm not shy about telling them how they just lost against such an awful killer.

  • It's super easy to break chase by losing line of sight without actually losing the killer, thus resetting the timer for bloodlust.. It's perfectly fine the way it is.

And as malatruse said.. if you've been chasing someone long enough for bloodlust to trigger,, especially bloodlust 2 and 3.. maybe you need to chase someone else because you're going to get generators done left and right.

  • That's why I love running Third Seal on Amanda.. Stealth hides my aura, but I have a beacon on them.. I just home in on them crouched.. Uncrouch, stab.. Thanks for the GPS to you for the rest of the match!

  • The people talking trash after losing are usually the same ones talking trash after winning. Don't mind them and just move on.

And, I mean.. if they all manage to get killed by a "garbo" killer.. it says a lot about their own skills.

  • I love when people give you tips on what you did right and what you did wrong. I mean, you'll learn as you go but it's nice getting some pointers ;)

And honestly it often depends on your perks build, too. But that's something else entirely ;) (then again the same build on different killers will work differently..)

  • 4 vs 1 means longer wait times for the side that's 1 if the players are split 50/50.. it's basic maths, really. But I guess during the slower times, there's more people playing killer since all their survivor friends are at work/school so it makes the wait times even worse.

I had 10 minutes wait times earlier today.. and tonight, I had nearly instant killer lobbies. Survivor is always fairly fast.

  • 0.. I'm actually surprised when someone's head goes off because of a trap.

I will try. Thank you for the nice comments. :)

People sometimes suggest to turn off the post-game chat if you can't handle it, but I know there's also friendly people out there (I've added some of them to my friendlist) and I would hate to miss out on that...

Yeah I've met some nice people from playing against them. The group I play with most came from one such end-game conversation and I switched over to survivor to play with them a bit, and I've been playing with them for nearly a year. If people are being rude I just give them a "good game" and tell them not to be rude for no reason it's just a game, and move on.

    "Blue bimbo" killed me :D

I agree, I still still don't get why they change a fine killer instead of all the other killers with issues

Wish they'd do something about Trapper's base kit and allow him to carry more than 1 trap as base kit. Sure, resetting traps is fine and all, but it's not enough. (note: I hardly ever play trapper, but I find it stupid that every other killer that has trap elements to them can put up to 10 at a time without needing to pick them up manually first)

  • I'm not going to repeat the ones I saw suggested but.. I've made that suggestion before elsewhere

A completion progress on characters for unlocked perks.. They have it for outfits in the store, so why not for perks? You start at 3/240 on survivor and it goes up with each unlocked perk, to see how many perks I'm missing on someone I'm trying to max out.

Or heck, go all the way and do it for total levels (number of perks * 3) , and have it show how many perks you unlocked on that character no matter which level, and have it show how many perks are at level 3. Would help prevent having to go through 5 pages of perks counting level scratches to calculate how many perks you're missing.

I know. I wasn't sure if I should post this or not, but I am kinda glad I did.

I guess I just wanted to get a feel for "is this really what killer mains have to sit through all the time"? I usually play survivor because killer can be very intense.

Oh sometimes you'll get bad people.. but it's really not that frequent. Same how you'll get bad killers who camp or tunnel off hook when you play survivors.. they're a minority, don't let the rotten apples ruin your fun

  • Some people are just salty about anything and everything. Don't mind them.

I get trash talked once in a while, but it's usually by people who were being toxic in the first place and would have trash talked had they survived. I get compliments on my unexpected builds and nice responses more often than negative ones.

  • @blacknite15 said:

God forbid you change your playstyle and do something a little "out there" for a couple matches, and then go back to holding m1 on generators for the other 364 days a year. Getting gold benevolance at rank 10 is also a joke what are you talking about?

I actually enjoy the challenges that make me use different builds or play differently. I enjoyed using Windows of Opportunity to find pallets for the pallet stuns challenges, or using a sabotage build for those challenges, or heck, the No Mither one.. that was a stressful one. Or the 4 basement kills one on killer. I don't mind playing regular styles of games, but it brings a new dimension to the game to have to play differently from how I usually play.

  • Just going to bump this because why not. Had too many survivors run past me healing someone else without noticing.. I know healing is a fairly fast action to complete, but still would be useful if others could come help finish the heal faster by knowing you're there in the first place.

  • Seems off on PC right now. Just had a sweaty campy killer and one of my friends disconnected to let someone else have the hatch, expecting to have a 5 minutes timeout and to do something else meanwhile and apparently he could queue up right away.

  • No. I wouldn't want to get punished for wanting to play with my friends because other groups are good and/or toxic.

But for the paid ones, I said in my survey feedback that they should make those challenges on a side track, and allow you to at least reach the epilogue and for the charm and rift frags, and then have those side missions be entirely optional.

And I almost started crying when you said "Only go for safe unhooks"

You're right but...have you PLAYED THIS GAME SWEETIE

I literally have a this homemade sign on my twitch because of how often people dummy unhook

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/WCLZ89SGT0DR/panel-241304103-image-a6c6b032-9f04-4627-9bd8-0b7a6ce6b973.png

Yeah I agree with that.. Making non-paid challenges hidden behind paid character challenges is lame. I don't mind the paid character to be at the end of a path, or an entirely different path from the free stuff.. but not in the middle of the road

  • @R52G said:

There are some that are easy but there are a lot that are very difficult to do. Especially for beginning players.

Thing is, they need to be challenging enough for people who have been playing the game for a while.. I'm not a great survivor/killer by any means, but I do enjoy when challenges give a bit of a challenge, and make me play differently than I usually do when it's just "do generators" challenges.

  • @JustCats said:

I am pretty sure that having breakable walls only breakable by killers is a balance choice, I'm not so sure what gets accomplished by letting survivors break them. Survivors already have every other environmental advantage.

Maybe make it a 1 time only thing then. So the survivor using the perk would need to pick which wall to break.

Honestly, most of the breakable walls benefit the killer more than survivors when broken, so it wouldn't be as useful as it might sound, but hey, with breakable walls being a thing, survivors could have a way of interacting with them...

  • I for one like those kind of challenges. Yes the 60 seconds one was annoying, even more so since there's no in-game Challenge tracking to know how much progress you have, so you don't know if you've reached the 60 or if you're missing 2 seconds. Or if you were 1 meter too far from the killer and it didn't count.

Benevolent emblems are the easiest ones to get Iridescent on. It's shared by the entire team. Just make sure to go for only safe unhooks and heal someone once or twice and you should get it. Heck, I got it one time after getting hooked right as the game started and tunneled off hook twice.

Also, for the Legion one.. You have to hit survivors 4 times... so you can hit 3 and hit the last one twice, that counts as 4. But in the last level, it requires 5 hits.. so yeah, hit all 4 survivors once, then last one twice.

Some of the challenges require you to play more than one match to complete. It wouldn't be challenging if it took only 2 days to complete the entire thing. But some shouldn't take forever.

As for challenges requiring paid characters to complete.. they're in it for the money, it's a way to get players to buy their DLC, nothing wrong with that.

  • @MiniPisa said:

I actually don't think it would need a cooldown or exhaustion. Giving the killer a notification is enough in my opinion, and it's a pretty odd perk to equip in the first place. It 100% should be in the game at some point though

Well some blocked doors benefit survivors and others benefit killers. So having the possibility of doing it would be good.

And it does need a cooldown otherwise it would be too easy to just go around breaking all the walls. Making it Exhaustion would mean you need to pick between breaking a wall or using sprint burst or something else. And breaking a wall has to be exhausting. They could also make it work like some of the other perks that require you to be within the killer's radius, or maybe in a chase. I had thought of just changing Dead Hard to add the breaking effect. Dead Hard into a wall, get the distance boost and break the wall at the same time.

  • Oh they definitely do! Didn't stop me from getting them all on both sides even if I'm never going to wear them though!

  • Seriously though, are people going to be making these topics every rift, when a paid DLC character is featured?

Behaviour are a company. They try to make profits. So of course they'll make these things require some paid characters to "force" people to buy them to complete the things! I'm sure it worked for many players, who got the required DLCs without complaining because, honestly, the cost of a DLC is the same as one or two starbucks coffees. So yeah.. If you can't afford those.. I feel sorry about your finances.

  • @Akhaten said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1377986#Comment_1377986

It's not that people can't afford the price, it's about the quality of the content that for the most part, makes it not worth the money, and cheap tactics like locking lore behind a paywall doesn't help at all.

If you find the DLCs aren't worth the money because they're not good enough quality, then why the **** do you even care about the rift challenges and rewards? Seriously that makes no sense. And as pointed out by others.. if you play the game enough to care about the challenges, but say the quality of the content isn't that good for the most part to explain paying for it, then I wonder why you even play the game in the first place.

Do you have to get it for each survivor or if you say escape with Jane does it apply to all the survivors?

You have to do it for each character you want it on. So 14 survivors and 13 killers.

  • @ThatOneGuy said:

What is the point of this new crown thing in the game? Are we supposed to be able to wear it or something? I’ve escaped twice now with the crown thing and don’t see anything in my inventory

You need to use a non-licensed character to get it.. it's a head cosmetic.

  • @kazakun said:

Can someone tell me what characters count? I tried Kate and apparently every single person in the match found the thing but me. As far as original, does it just mean all the ones that aren't from licensed chapters?

    All non-licensed.. There's 14 survivors and 13 killers.

  • Lots of killers will farm for them.. I have 7/14 survivors done already. Would have 2-3 more but some of the killers I played against didn't care for party hats, or I couldn't find one in the match even if the killer was letting is go. So yes, technically it's harder to get them on survivor than killer but it's not that hard either.

The cakes don't work, though. They don't exactly make up for it when they don't function.

The ammount they give is still more than a bloodrush/hunt would give though, even without stacking.

  • There's cakes though. That more than makes up for it.

  • "Boohoo it'll take me more than one trial to get the cosmetic, when I have 2 whole weeks to get 14 of them total, if I decide to get them on every single survivor"

That's what many people sound like.. it's ridiculous. Especially considering how many killers farm for their crowns too and will let the survivors escape as long as everyone plays along nicely. Sure you'll get killers that don't play along with the event.. but most I've encountered so far do.

  • Oh look, it's this topic again.

I would love it if they would implement that for every Killer power if possible (Demo,Billy etc.).

Good point. Or heck maybe to a lesser extend, to basic M1 attacks. Less points for M1 attacks, and more points for the killer's power. Or just a base score no matter the type of attack, if it misses.

I know right they re not removing it, but i keep saying this is the GAME'S fault and not my internet's but no one listens to me lol. Thanks for your comment :)

Well, honestly it might be the game, God knows this game has a lot of bugs.. but from what I saw, most people complaining about the penalties are the same who used to disconnect multiple games in a row and also the reason the penalties were added in the first place. Sorry if I have troubles believing everyone making this topic ;)

Then keep deflecting the SWF problems, and keep getting more and more killers who've given up and will only play with red mori or as campers who don't care about rank. By refusing to even look at the issue you've already doomed the killer playerbase to decline.

I don't know what game you're playing but the eboni moris and facecampers aren't as rampant as you make it seem.

  • @Traslogan said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1280338#Comment_1280338

I'm sick of that excuse. Every time on this forum that SWF is brought up, it's the exact same pathetic excuse. "not all of them are bad so we cannot do anything about it at all". You'll happily let killers experience cheating SWF all the time as long as one single SWF team isn't cheating out of all of them.

Wait times are already awful for survivors, the longer survivors keep up this pathetic excuse the worse it will get. More and more killers are quitting or refusing to play without mori.

And I'm sick of people complaining about survivor groups on here. Can't have it all, can we? I rather have shorter lobby times against groups than waiting forever. Same thing when I play survivor, I rather not be punished with longer wait times just because I decide I want to play with friends rather than by myself.

  • They had that question in yesterday's Q&A and the short answer was "Nope we're not removing the penalty" so yeah get a better internet or fix your rig if you crash that much, or play something else that works on dial up internet.

People have been making the "remove penalties" topic since the penalties went live. And yeah, sorry to tell you but they're not going away. The experience in general has been much much better since then. It was annoying seeing people disconnect left and right on both sides, whether it was teammates on survivor, or survivors that couldn't take being found first or whatever while playing killer.

  • @Traslogan said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1280310#Comment_1280310

So make it opt-in. But they won't , because SWF is a cash-cow.

I still see all the original points as valid. There's an exodus of killers and an increase in wait times for a reason.

Making it opt-in will only make wait time for people wanting to play with friends even longer. Not every survivor group is toxic or good. I play with friends regularly and we're nowhere near great, but we have fun and that's what counts. I would not want to have even longer wait times because a handful of people act toxic to killers when the rest of us just want to have fun.

  • Unpopular opinion: I used to hate playing against a group of flashlight clickers, now I find it enjoyable because it's a challenge to kill them all. It's nice seeing all the tactics people come up with and trying to find counters to them. And often, they're fun matches. The only times the fun is ruined is if they're toxic in the chat after the game ended. There's no need for that.

  • I like the idea as well. Aura reading add-ons are always nice, but so powerful it would need to be pink or purple. But the thing with trapper is not all that many survivors bother disarming traps, so it could be a wasted add-on, so making it pink.. it would definitely need to do something else than just the aura reading for sure.

  • I fear bloodied outfit Claudettes Neas and Megs more than survivors with paid outfits.

  • Not sure about the bloodpoints increase, but I do agree having a way to either sell back or trade in unwanted items/add-ons/offerings would be good. Like, say, you can trade in 3 or 4 thingies of one color for a different thingie of the same color. Or just trade them in for tokens usable only on that character, and use those tokens to buy new stuff.

And honestly, on survivor side, it would be nice if every character's stuff was pooled together. Except perks. But items and offerings you get on one character should be usable on another character. And I guess same with killer offerings. Killer add-ons shouldn't be shared, for obvious reasons.

OK buddy. Never said anything about myself "crashing over and over." If you actually bothered to pay attention before ranting, you'd notice it was a completely different person that claimed to actually be crashing. My comment was just a general commentary about how unstable the game is. I do crash, like everyone, at the loading screen often. And I have been experiencing a lot of freezes since the last update. But you do you, champ.

Loading screen crashes don't give you penalties though.

And honestly, the ones complaining about the penalties are always the ones who disconnect on purpose. So yeah, sorry if I misread your other post. Also nice 10 days later response.
