On your character or in the UI selection menu?
Uhhh... in the selection menu.. Sorry to find your question silly, but if I wanted to hide it on my character, I'd just.. unequip it? ;)

I like it, but the part where it says if the killer sees you, you see them, kinda makes Distortion a bit less useful. I mean it'll still hide your aura, but lots of people use it to know if the killer has Barbecue or other aura reading perks.. if you have the new Object equipped you can just look around the map and if you see the killer randomly, it's either because A) the timer is up for object (which I assume will show in the HUD as perks usually do when on cooldown), or B) because they have some type of aura reading, and if you know the perks/add-ons and what the killer was doing at that time, it's easy to guess what they had to be able to see you.
But that part aside, I like the idea, especially seeing how people were using it as a permanent GPS on the killer's whereabouts. Imagine if the killer had a similar perk that showed survivors auras 24/7, it would have been changed forever ago.

If Hangman's trick has a debuff of sabotaging action like (reduce 50% of sabotage speed) it can be useful cause the survs should start to break hooks earlier and you can make a decision to go to another hook and still able to hang a surv in time
What about the PTB version of hangman's trick when you able to see EVERY survivor because hook radious was really big... It was too strong imo. But I don't mind to increase radious slightly than we already have.
Oh yeah no, I definitely wouldn't want it to be broken like it was in the PTB.. I feel an extra 2 meters would be good, 6 is quite a short distance.. but I imagine too large a radius would bring back the mapwide aura reading the PTB had..
But I agree, a speed penalty to survivors trying to sabotage hooks would be good. Because the way it is now.. "Oh, a notification that someone's sabotaging a hook.. but I can see them doing it because i'm carrying someone.. *a second later* oh there's the notification of the hook crashing to the ground"
Anyway, I just had that general train of thought playing with other people last night and talking about how it was nice that We're Gonna Farm Forever actually does something else now (the faster healing speed on downed survivors) and we talked about a few other perks that had pointless effects and Hangman's Trick notification came to mind, cause yeah it's useless seeing just how fast sabotaging is now, a notification followed by another notification is pointless.. It used to be sorta useful cause sabotaging took a while so you had a little bit of time to go interrupt it but.. now? heh.

The hook already repair themself after 30 sec XD. When they change the perk on the pbe the perk look great and strong and maybe this could have change the killer meta at that time it was a better tracking than bbq but they reduce the range too much so no one use it
It used to repair sacrificial hooks too, not just sabotaged ones.
And the notification still is useless.
-
Didn't notice until after I left the lobby but I know damn well I got more than 448 points that match.
I also had a similar problem doing the survivor objective one, where one game didn't even register at all.
-
We're Gonna Live Forever
After unhooking a survivor, or healing them for a full health state, until the end of the match, any damage taken that would put the other Survivor into the Dying State will instead apply the Deep Wound Status Effect.
-
Didn't bother reading the entire thread but I fail to see how Object is something that makes you stop playing Myers and not other killers..
Especially considering how rarely I ever run into people actually using the perk.

Worst photoshop job ever but hey haha

Surviviors being sweaty is not a bannable offense, the killer bodyblocking you forcing you to dc is more common than you think, I just pointed out a real glaring issue if dc bans come back and you completely ignore it and say "oh but that never happens!"
Even though I showed proof, this is really common of wraiths, they can go invisible and see your auras with add ons so they sneak up on you and bodyblock you in a corner. Other killers do it too if they catch you, it's a problem.
Just last patch with the hillbug myself and Feng Ming were stuck in the hill and the clown completely ignored us and tunneled the other players. Feng eventually dc'ed and I was able to get out when the slugged Nea crawled over and I healed her. But what you want is for Feng to be banned for what the killer did, taking advantage of a bug. So entitled.
You really are an entitled survivor main and it shows.
Wraith body blocking you in a corner while cloaked is a wraith tactic. I thought you were complaining about being body blocked and the killer going afk, but him blocking you in a corner while he uncloaks is part of his you play him. It's a wraith? Easy counter play, don't hide in a corner where you can get body blocked. If he does go afk to force you to disconnect, then just report him, the tools for that are there. As I said, I never had killers body block anyone to force them to disconnect in any of the matches I've ever played. I'm not saying it doesn't happen, I'm saying it's really not as frequent as you try to make it out to be too justify disconnecting for petty reasons.
A killer ignoring you because you got stuck on a known bug is all on you. Boohoo the killer ignored me, he's so mean, I'm super entitled and am going to complain that they didn't come to me right away to unstuck me and probably let me go because it's not fair I was urban evading around the hill.
Anyway, not going to bother with you anymore, I've wasted enough time on you, entitled survivor main who likes to disconnect for the slightest reason but doesn't want to be accountable for it.
-
I can do it too.

Interesting that most killers want the DC ban, they really want their 4k even if it hurts the game or if the game is in too poor a state to have a DC ban
Interesting that most survivors don't want the DC ban. They really want to be able to rage quit for being found first or playing against a killer they don't like without repercussions even if it ruins 4 other people's game experience.

I'd rather not have a return to0 when you get bodyblocked by a killer and held hostage to force you to dc and if you do you get a penalty or ban. I don't want a return to those scummy killer tactics.
You'd be surprised how far killers will go for a 4k or to be toxic. Don't believe me? Watch this:
I don't know the kind of killer you play against but I've yet to see any body blocking to take the game hostage. And you'd be surprised at how far survivors can go for altruism or to be toxic. *insert random YouTube link of teabagging flashlight clickers with decisive strike, dead hard, borrowed time and whatever else*

Pretty sure I had it happen to me while cleansing a totem, or opening a chest too, so it's not just generators.

I agree.
I'll make another that goes like that.
Haha good idea. Or you can make a generic one that includes both sides ;) But yeah having two separate specific ones is probably better :D
-
Goes both ways. Complaining about someone being a bad killer after they killed you means you're an even worse survivor.
-
I don't mind it all that much, it adds to the game's replayability. If it were too easy to max out characters then I'd have stopped playing long ago.
I have 3 survivors maxed out at prestige 3 (though I think I only have 1 now, I probably didn't bother unlocking the latest perks on the other two since I usually main Kate anyway) and I think I'm at around 12 killers fully maxed out, and working on 3 other ones (one is at prestige 2-50, but still has a few cakes and puddings left, and the other two are prestige 1-50, also with a few streamers or puddings to use before I prestige them again)
Challenges and dailies give a nice bloodpoint boost to make it less grindy and less repetitive as well with the different objectives you get from them.

no, no, just no, that's false, ranks obviously give some indication of skill, saying it doesn't means you are just as clueless as the devs, you are probably parroting their words without even knowing what you are saying.
a red rank is clearly better at the game than a green rank, very clearly, the devs mean it in a sense of boosting and vet players not playing for awhile, in thos instances the ranks are somewhat meaningless and no, you cannot get to rank 1 if you play enough, if you're a immersed blendette you will NEVER get to rank 1, no matter how much you play, i'm a red rank surv, i don't want to play with green and yellow ranks, they suck in comparision to me, tbh same with purples, they seem to do poorly too, so stop parroting random words you have no idea what you're talking about
I'm not parroting anything.. I'm a red rank survivor, and I only reach it because I play a lot, not because I'm a great survivor. I'm no potato, but not great either. So yes, while it takes skill to remain rank 1 consistently, skill isn't all there is to it, when you need to just do not too badly to gain a single pip and move closer to ranking up. It's easier to rank up than to rank down. You really need to either do super badly or die super early to not at least black pip.
-
It's never going to be added to the game. People are already bad enough in the lobby chats without having access to in-game voice chat.

Yeah its a really fun tracking perk, but I'll only use it if I'm using a map offering, because I used it on rotten fields once, and I'll never do that again.
I have it on a few killers builds.. I treat it as a hex perk that lasts through the match or gets found right away., sometimes it's super useful, other times it's useless from the start ;p

Yeah it honestly goes between one of the best and worst perks in the game based solely on the map.
Can't wait for them to rework those older maps to add more crows to them.. I don't care for tiles balance and graphics, I want more crows! It's one of my favorite tracking perks, but as you said.. it goes from great to useless depending on the map.

Yeah its really good on Hawkins and Lerys, but alas you cant always guarantee you'll get those
And really bad on Macmillan & Autohaven & corn maps.. basically the older maps. Newer maps seem to have more crow spawns. Lery's is the map I've found spies from the shadows to trigger the most. You can pinpoint where survivors are running towards through the walls because of how many crows they disturb trying to escape you.

Yeah but a blendette with spine chill, iron will, and sprint burst will have no issues.
It's easy to know they have those though, and once you know they do, you know to look more carefully in the tall grass.
-
It's annoying not finding survivors because of the tall grass, but at the same time, it's fun finding that survivor who thinks they're well hidden in the grass right next to the generator they just left and braining them.

Killer DC does not ruin your game with killer dcing does nothing to survivors they just go right back to the lobby to start new game not like survivors dcing where your stuck getting the game done with 3vs1 or 2vs1 with the penalty back give it time survivors just start killing them self on first hook to by past penalty where killers are stuck in the game.
enjoy you DC penalty replace DC with bot wold be better.
Didn't necessarily mean to go afk. You can just give half-assed chases, or tunnel one guy while the other genrush. If you go afk, they'll try to farm and make the game longer than if you chase people around without pressuring generators.

Dead Hard, Decisive Strike and Noed are all fine perks.

“Rank doesn’t matter” is more about saying you’re rank 1 means nothing, as you can be not good, average, good, great, or amazing at rank 1. Typically Rank 1s will be better than purple and below
Yes, but it's still not hard to reach rank 1 if you play the game enough, is what I'm saying. But I guess it goes to say that practice makes perfect, and playing enough to pip enough to reach rank 1 should make you a better player in the long run.

well killer give it time I dced as killer sometime(try not to do it to much when penalties up) and it normally the only time I don't as survivor but survivor can by past the penalties by killing them self on hook so still think DC penalties pointless.
And if you don't want to have the penalty on killer you can just let them genrush you and go open one of the gates yourself. You'll spend the same 5 minutes, but end up with bloodpoints instead of a timeout and 0 points.
Honestly, the rare few times I disconnected on purpose was when I got tunneled off hook twice in a row and the killer went around the other survivors to go straight for me, and I decided I had played enough for the night and just went to bed. I don't recall ever having a bad enough killer game that I disconnected. I had bad games where there was no way I could win, but I still tried my best and sometimes ended up with a kill or two in the end.Or they just won so fast it allowed me to move on to the next match and enjoy myself more.

Wait, do people think hitting rank 1 is really that hard? Seriously?
As was pointed out by one of the devs somewhere (and by many people as well) rank isn't really a measure of skill, it's a measure of how much time you played in the past month. It's easy to get to rank 1 if you play enough, and have more fairly good games with at least 1 pip (or heck, even a black pip) than really bad ones where you depipped.

or the wait time will take forever because everyone on a timeout.
Killer lobbies are near instant on here, and survivor ones take a good 2-3 minutes.. so a lot of people would need to be in timeout for it to even out. And for lobbies to take even more forever, more killers would need to be in timeout than survivors, and from my experience, there's more sore loser survivors than killers.

Personally I'd rather have really expensive perks than waste points on something that'll disappear because I died.
True. Or something I won't ever use because they're add-ons for items I don't like (or offerings I don't care for)
But still.. after leveling up a few times, you should have plenty of everything so it hardly feels like a problem to me anymore. But in the early game, yeah it sucked to spend the few points I had on something that I'd lose because I died right away or something.
-
@Buttercake said:
Do you mean you lost it during a trial? Or when you prestige? I'm not sure what you mean by lost it...
Whatever they meant, it works as intended. If it wasn't that way then they'd just make perks super expensive "You can buy 5 common items for 15,000 points, OR a perk for the same ammount of points"
-
If anything, most maps hardly have any crows on them and make it unusable. (especially the older maps)
But yeah I get you were being sarcastic. It's a pretty useful perk to have though, since a lot of survivors aren't careful around crows.
-
1) You can turn it off.
2) Not everyone on PC plays with a mouse and keyboard. Plenty of people use a controller (yeah I know, that sounds weird, but lots of people do, either just for survivor, or on both sides)
3) I, for one, am glad for the bigger pool of players. The only bad thing about it is the lack of post-game chat.

Hope the devs fixed the problem so they don’t need to be disabled again. We should be seeing a lot less DCs because someone got outplayed, a Survivor wants to give the Hatch, or a map offering didn’t work.
Or they're facing a killer they don't want, or a specific build they don't want to play against (iridescent hatchets, forever freddy, and other such meta builds)
(and for killers ) Or they got looped for 15 seconds, or their Hex got destroyed right at the start, 2 gens popped up at the same time without them finding a single survivor..
-
It's totally fine. Not that many players run the perk in the first place.
I run it on like.. 1 killer, and honestly, it doesn't matter that much because the survivors always go back for their items. They rarely have time to despawn from the game.
And if you can't find where you dropped it, then you need to start paying better attention to your surroundings.
-
It's usually 3 weeks. It used to be 2 weeks but then they always had to rush things and changed it to 3, to give them more time to work on changes before the actual release. But as they mentionned before, it's not set in stone, if there are big enough problems with the new update, they'll wait longer before releasing it.
-
@Dito175 said:
I'm actually happy, tired of those people dc'ing in their first down.
Yeah really..
Before crossplay was launched, even with the penalties off, the ammount of disconnects was still better than before they added the system.. I had more disconnects in a single evening than the last 3 months, all against console players. Take that how you will, but yeah..
-
God I hate that. I have to think about moving away from the hook first before trying to heal.. or just keep holding m1 for two seconds to finish the sabotage, since the cooldown starts as soon as you click, so if I let go, I wasted a minute..
Honestly, rather than fixing it to make the cooldown start upon sabotage completion.. just make healing take priority over sabotage
-
It would be nice, but at the same time.. for having played games with voice chat cough*Deceit*cough I know it would end up badly for everyone involved.. so yeah, better not implement that.

I use shards when I can but for the most part all the outfits I like cost actual cells which is super annoying. I think they purposefully make it so you have to pay money for the cute cosmetics and for the less cute ones you can pay with shards 🤣 oh well what can ya do though I guess
Yeah it seems that way, too. The ones they know won't get them any money are usually sold for shards.. and the awesome looking ones are money only. Makes sense in a business kind of way but still annoying at times. Luckily, the body part I use on my main was part of an ugly set where that part was the only good looking one, so I got it for shards and matched it with better looking head and legs haha

That's one reason I hardly play killer or buy cosmetics for killers. I like to be able to SEE the outfit I payed shards/cells for. I feel like they could lessen the prince of cells or make it so you can earn auric cells like you do shards
Same. Only killer cosmetic I paid money for is the Nurse's World War outfit (as part of some DLC pack, the whole thing was like $3 or something though) but yeah.. the rest of the killer cosmetics I use are either their default/prestige ones, or ones I got for free on the rift.
I got a few survivor cosmetics I liked, but most were bought with shards. Don't recall paying actual money for any of the survivor outfits I got, but it would be more worth paying money on a survivor outfit I can see during gameplay than a killer one only the survivors get to see (aside from looking at it in the lobby I guess).
-
@KateDensonMain3331 said:
I'm just not a fan of the concept of legendary cosmetics in general. I can understand the ones for Cheryl since they're essentially making her a different character but I like to be able to mix and match stuff. 8/10 I only like 2 of the items (hair, top, bottoms) anyway. I feel that nearly 1,500 auric cells is a bit much for a cosmetic. Like you're paying around $15 for a cosmetic which to me is crazy. I do enjoy cosmetics and have no problem supporting the game but I can't help but feel some prices for some cosmetics are a bit steep 😬
Yeah.. pretty crazy to charge $15 for an outfit when most characters are like $3. I mean some of them look amazing.. but it's still a lot of money, especially for killer cosmetics that you don't even get to see while playing.

I think the OP was more aiming about the face who has absolutely no point to be linked to the outfit. Kinda like every weapon of killer sets.
Maybe there's no way to have a full outfit that has 2 parts linked and the 3rd part mix-and-matchable? Because yeah I agree that head would look good on other outfits.. or other heads could look good with that dress.

It's a dress, and would most likely look super stupid as separate parts.

Last time I played solo and had a 3 man SWF for teammates (at least I think they were SWF as they ran the same perks) they rescued me from a facecamping infinite tier 3 Myers even though the gate was open and they could have just left (I actually wanted to give up on the hook so the killer wouldn't get a lucky endgame 4k but they were too close to the hook so I struggled).
Anyways they managed to bait him into a missed swing and unhooked with Borrowed Time allowing me to take a hit to cover them.
Long story short: We all escaped and they were the best teammates I've ever had in all my years of playing DBD as a solo. None of them even tbagged at the gate either. They were all about efficient plays rather than acting toxic.
Nice :)
Had a game not too long ago where the friend I was with was dead.. and he told me while spectating that the other survivor left alive had a key. 3 generators and 2 survivors left.. so I worked on a generator to make the hatch spawn, and then started looking for it. As soon as I found it, I see the other guy's aura being chased by the killer, so I run towards him and motion at him to follow me, allowing him to unlock the hatch and escape.. sadly, the killer was right there and he closed it in my face before I could follow. But hey at least one of us got out ;) If I had wanted to be selfish I could have just hidden somewhere and grabbed the key from his death hook to leave, but that thought didn't even cross my mind at the time, I wanted to get us both out, but the time it took the animation of him leaving was enough for the killer to be right on top of the hatch to close it.
