Actually it seems our OP believes the opposite. I'll admit, I don't play spirit, and so my experience with her is trying to survive against, so I wasn't fully aware of that either, definitely good to know and adds counterplay.

I hardly ever play her, and never use her good add-ons, just browns or yellows, cause I don't care about being a tryhard..

But I find it funny that even the person (EDIT: just noticed it was the original poster hahaha makes it even more pathetic) who copied & pasted what the add-on does left out the bit about the scratchmarks no longer being visible, cause it would make their argument ######### if they included that part of the description. I agree it would be totally OP if it had scratchmarks on top of killer instinct.. but removing those means survivors can get away easily in chases if you think they took a left and they went right instead. Of course there's no way for the survivors to know you have that add-on until the match is over, but it's that way with most add-ons anyway.

  • Your Overcome suggestion... so you want an exhaustion perk to ignore exhaustion? What is this, Adrenaline 2.0? It's bad enough that Adrenaline does it, don't need you to have both sprint burst and Overcome to make chases last even longer than necessary.

As for Head On.. the killer already gets stunned, make use of that time and run the ######### away, your fault if you didn't make enough distance. Surprised you didn't also say you wanted Head On to ignore other exhaustion perk cooldowns, since that was your idea for Overcome

  • The game having so many perks is one of the main reasons I'd want them to either get rid of it, or rework it.

Either they need to change the way it is, or remove perk levels entirely, to make perks you actually care for show up by the time you reach 50.

It sucks getting a great build first time around.. had the perfect build for Carmina at prestige 0 once I hit level 50, all perks I wanted, all level 3.. and then when you get to prestige 3, you can't seem to get the perks you want and have to go through 150 webs to get anything good.

I know they mentionned in the past that they needed to rework it some more (after they changed it to allow us to get 2 perks per web, rather than just 1 as it used to be before), but they haven't mentionned it again since.

  • Maybe I missed someone mentionning it but...

    The Blossom hides scratchmarks.

So she has to know you're around the area in the first place for it to be any useful, and can't pinpoint your exact location until she's right on top of you, since no scratchmarks. But yes it can suck getting found hiding in a corner because it triggered killer instinct.. but lots of killers have such tracking add-ons (and certain perks) and you don't see people whine against Scratched/Vanity mirror Myers, or wallhack Pig or Wraith.. (ok nevermind, you see people whine against literally everything in the game)

Sucks playing against those kind of add-ons but at the same time, it gives the game a different mood than the regular looping and holding m1 to do gens. Mechanics changing add-ons are a welcome thing to me.

Being asked to confirm every time I start a match would be really obnoxious. I'm done with all my currently obtainable killer challenges and just leave one of my remaining survivor ones up as I go.

Being able to have one for each side up simultaneously is the way to go.

Yeah you make a great point

  • @[Deleted User] said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2716458#Comment_2716458

Or, the ability to have one survivor and one killer challenge active simultaneously. Anything would be better than the way it is right now lol

######### yeah definitely that. And if only one challenge is available on either side, auto-select it or something I don't know.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

It would be much more convenient if whatever role you picked, all the challenges for the opposite role would become non-selectable. That way if you start a match and realize you forgot to pick your desired challenge, you can still make progress on one of the other challenges at least.

Yeah I made a similar-ish suggestion in the past..

Say you have 5 selectable challenges..

    • Do a game
    • Do stuff
    • End game
    • See which challenges you progressed on, and redeem the one you want

That way if you have both, "do gens" "get iri emblens" and you ######### up on the emblems but still did gens, then you pick that one.. if you somehow didnt do enough gens but maxed out on emblems, pick that instead.

  • @ShyPirate said:

Definitely agree. I also think any rift fragments earned after reaching tier 70 should be converted to blood points.

Yeah that would be nice, it would be extra incentive to reach 70 early, so you can get bonus points at the end of the rift season.

  • 3 matches later, I barely made any progress on my stupid coop action challenge.. but that one match I did nearly every gen coop with someone and lots of coop healing too.. dammit. Ah well!

  • Agree/disagree

People play them a lot because they're new.

Once that dies down they won't be that popular.. people will go back to their old meta perks.. heck they're already not as popular as they were. and they've been out for a week.

One thing that makes them less OP is the fact it takes ages to set up, and the killer can undo it in half a second.

I find them annoying when playing either side, honestly.. For my type of gameplay, I think Shadow Step is worse.. I don't care if they can self care in that corner, as long as I can still see scratchmarks and auras.

  • Whatever button it is to do most actions.. A, I guess? or Circle or whatever on xbox controllers?

Either way.. same button to do gens and heals and totems and scratch your balls.

  • It's ok. It's not that bad, since, as I said.. you can still get 2/3 vs 2/4 perks.. it doesn't slow down leveling/perk progression.. It's just weird that it's a thing.

  • A trick? What?

I loved this years' halloween event!

Separate challenges? I havent finished them all yet, but a friend of mine finished both halloween and regular challenges and is at tier 40+ already!

That's without counting all the bloodpoint codes they gave in the past week or so! It was nearly a million points, if not more!

AAAAND at least this time we get the full outfits, that's it. Other years you'd get serum whatchamacallits and decide what to buy with them out of a bunch of outfits.. this time.. nah you get these two, that's it. (and the last years ones were cheaper to buy as a full outfit than separate pieces so yay)

  • If it can make queues faster for non-swf like me, sure go for it!

no you will probably still get matched against campers lol.

Campers aren't as frequent when you get to higher ranks though. I mean there's still some but..

Most leatherfaces I play against aren't campers (and I'm not even super high rank either) it's a minority.. but yes the minority makes it suck ass.

Sadly, camping is a viable tactic.. There's no way they can make it so camping on 1st hook with no gen is bad vs camping after gates are open..

  • Sadly your best bet is to escape and get up in the MMR so you dont get matched vs campers like this.

  • Wait what really? That's ridiculous.

There's so many conditions that allow you to escape anyway, either through hatch or the main gate..

Heck, the reverse bear traps outright kill you if you try to leave through the main gate.. but the hatch is fine..

You can get out the main gate with madness.. why not hatch?

I assume it has to do with it being a left click action over just walking out or something.. but it's still stupid

  • Of course she does. It's just you don't play against her often enough to get good at it, that's all. But yes, a good nurse is godly. But godly nurses are a rarity because no one wants to spend the time it takes to perfect her. (but then people take forever to perfect other killers, or their looping skills on survivor, that time spent on nurse would make anyone super good)

  • I'm going to refrain from calling you names, so I'll call your idea stupid as ######### instead.

They just changed hatch to spawn when only 1 survivor is left alive, to prevent survivors leaving prematurely.. and you want hatch to be there from the start? Wooooow!

  • Not even bothering to read this...

Seriously? Clown's power got a "rework" not long ago.. and it was such a joke.. yayyy speed boost bottles.. that take ages to change colors.. and can give a speed boost to survivors, not just the killer..! Wow, what a rework!!

Going to be polite about this but.. get lost with your nerf request. Clown is fine the way he is. It feels as if, if you think clown needs a nerf.. that you probably think the same for pretty much every single ######### killer out there.

To be fair, these are now halloween related.

Still, they should've atleast given us seeds equal to our pustula petals.

yeah really.. i nearly maxed out every killer and hardly play anyone else than my main survivor... and seeing how you get 1.. maybe 2 seeds per web,. it's not worth putting points into characters you already maxed out.. so the only ones I have seeds on are characters i dont plan on playing much, since i left them for last..

  • Sounds good to me :) sorta similar to what i had in mind-kindasorta

    I like the idea

  • @Purgatorian said:

Love the last one on your list lol

I would like to see all but the specific survivor/killer challenges to become like those ones though. Either that or letting us complete them without having to choose them first so we could get a random assortment around the rift without having to plot a route to the end first.

They would have to up the amounts you need to do if my idea became reality though. You would also need to complete a set number of these to unlock the charm.

Yeah one suggestion I made in the past is.. you play one match.. without picking a challenge..

Then once the match is over, it gives you a list of challenges you can redeem (i.e. you could do stab 20 people, hook 10, kick 15 generators and sacrifice 5 people) and you pick which one to put your last match into..

It's basically Yahtzee by Daylight. I've had so many games where I picked a challenge and ######### up badly but would have done great for an entirely different challenge.

    @LapisInfernalis said:

I would love if the whole tome was like this for the generic challenges. Master challenges should still be Killer/Survivor seperately.

Yeah true. Hook/unhook. Stab/heal. Chests, totems and vaults, not sure what the killer equivalent would be. Survivor challenges have more variety to them than killer ones. Current tome though.. definitely doing the 10 hooks/safe unhooks on killer, much easier to get 10 hooks than 10 unhooks :p 10 hooks is a single match if it goes well, 2 at most.. 10 unhooks can take ages if ######### hits the fan

  • (oh and what annoys me more than the subject of this thread is crashing/disconnecting mid-load, and losing my offering/item.. but if someone elses crashes/disconnects, then I get to keep them.. I fail to see the logic/consistency there)

  • I agree it sucks (on both sides, to be fair) when one (or more) of the survivors disconnects/crashes during the match.

When I play survivor and it happens, its annoying because the match goes downhill from there.

But when I play killer, even if I try to play nice, oftentimes the remaining survivors will still genrush and clickyclickclick at me, so why would I go soft on them? But if they come to me crouching and pointing, I'll take a hint and go softer on them (but flat out farming is boring as ######### as either role.. I prefer to semi-farm by chasing people evenly and hooking everyone twice and letting them do their thing.

But yeah.. I agree it sucks when you bring good offerings and someone DCs.. but at the same time, there's also the party streamer curse, where the survivor who brings it is the one getting found/tunneled out of the game first, and that sucks too.

Anyway, not sure how your boosters idea would work exactly. I mean I don't personally rarely (if ever) bring other offerings, unless I have a chest challenge and bring coins to get it done faster. So having an offering/booster that lasts more than one game and I have to wait until it's done before I can use one more isn't really something I'd like.

I don't know if this is what you meant but..

    • brown offering (currently 50% in one category) minimum giveaway: 2000 (25% of category) points, max 4000 (50%)
    • yellow (currently 75%) minimum: 3000, max 6000
    • green: (currently 100%) minimum 4000, max 8000
    • party streamer/cake/pudding (100% to all) minimum 16,000, max 32,000

My logic behind it is the offering is active until you achieve at least half the minimum payout, if not, it remains until next match, so, example, for a party streamer, if you get a bonus of 15,500 points, and didnt reach the 16,000 minimum value, it would last another match but only up to the 16,500 points you were missing

Wouldn't want the offerings to last forever, but yeah, the 100% offerings sometimes don't pay out as much as they could for many reasons and it sucks having them go to waste.

Oh and I guess they could implement a "rest" bonus xp like most MMORPGs have.. but I'm honestly not sure how it could work ;p Maybe just give bonus points for the first match on either side, or the first hour each day, some bullshit like that.

  • Good idea.

As you said, there's a toggle already but it's still there, so you might end up checking it out of curiosity and regret it right away.

And a toggle for the profanity filter.

  • Free weekend will do that. Lots of new players joining the game, and instead of making them wait forever to get a new killer, they get matched against whoever has been waiting the longest on the other side, despite their ranking. All working as intended (not being sarcastic, they said it themselves, they rather have people play a badly matched game than not play at all, and I agree with that sentiment, lobby simulator isn't my thing)

  • @landromat said:

So i have bunch of them from last Halloween events and now they're disabled. Why? AFAIK Lunar offerings are changing every year so you can reuse them, but why petals stay disabled and you added new offering instead?

Bit confused about this as well, considering they left the blight serums or whatever they're called in for killers to reuse last years' despite this year having nothing to do with the blight.

  • I'm surprised they haven't added them to reworked realms after they added the breakable wall to Dead Dawg's shack, but at the same time, shack wouldn't be the same if it had it in every realm.

Look, I gave you the explanation of how the current shrine works and no amount of calling it bullshit or disagreeing with how it's coded will change anything about it.

Neither will anything change the fact that even though Mikaela is a half-chapter, the shrine doesn't care if a dlc is a full or a half-chapter now. If internally, it's its own data structure, it's considered its own dlc by the shrine logic.

The shrine no longer works how you remember it working and hasn't done so for quite some time now.

No need to get all defensive. I understand it's changed since I started playing and wasn't aware, I still think it's bullshit to consider mid-chapters as chapters when it comes to the shrine, seeing how rarely stuff shows up on there within the year of it's release, often perks show up past the year mark.

  • @Alionis said:

As far as the logic governing the shrine of secrets is concerned, it is.

Still think it's bullshit, but oh well.

  • @Alionis said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2587067#Comment_2587067

Since the Trickster chapter, we've had RE, Hellraiser and now Mikaela. As far as the game is concerned, those are 3 chapters, making Trickster's perks be from 4 chapters ago.

    It's working as intended.

Wouldn't really count Mikaela as a chapter but sure.

  • @Alionis said:

If the chapter they're from is not part of the 3 most recent ones, they will be at the regular price.

Thought it was within the last year.

Either way, it is from 2 chapters ago.

But a friend's hypothesis is since they're both part of the rift challenges, they decided to put them at the regular price to make them more affordable for people who didn't buy the chapter.

  • @majorraqb said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2573081#Comment_2573081

Especially with Mikaela being new, you're almost guaranteed multiple boon users on the survivor side. Soon as you snuff out one totem, someone on the other end of the map is blessing another. The map coverage for the boon radius gets nuts really quickly. Destroying the totems from the killer side would really, really help.

First match today was vs 3 Mikaelas.. so in the first minute or two, I heard 3 boon totems going up.

I know in a week or two people will stop playing her as much and won't use her perks as much because they're a bit situational if the placement isn't great, but still, with a full party using them, and everyone seeing every blue totem auras, it can get out of hand fast.

  • @ZephanUnbound said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2572852#Comment_2572852

I think the blessed effect persists after leaving the range though, so it's not the best indicator for knowing if you're still in range or not. The way I see it they have two options for improving. The easiest solution is just to keep the blue haze around the edges, but make it smaller and more translucent. The harder option I see for fixing it is getting rid of the blue haze and having the totems project a circular blue radius around themselves that players can see but killers can't.

Oh yeah true, some effects linger for a few seconds after leaving the area.. nevermind that

  • @majorraqb said:

I agree, especially now that killers have to also interact with totems because of boons.

Really. Survivors would already spend time cleansing it, taking a few seconds longer to bless instead doesn't make a dent in the gameplay on survivor side. When I play killer, I don't have time to go out of my way to look for totems.

  • Had the same problem, you have to stand at the right exact spot, otherwise it doesn't work. I know I'll eventually get the hang of it and know where to stand, but it's stupid that it's not better implemented.

  • Nah, a Legion

But I guess Thrill making totem interactions take longer is a good counter to Boon totems.. only problem with that is Thrill no longer gives a loud noise notification.. which was pretty much the sole reason to use it in the first place.

  • @Mat_Sella said:

I think its okay initially to let you know you've entered the radius, but after that, the haze doesnt need to be there.

True. You get a "Blessed" status icon on the right side of the screen, so you could just pay attention to that to know if you're within range or not.

  • Just had a match where I was blessing over Thrill of the Hunt..

Two survivors starting the generator next to it nearly had time to finish it before I finished the blessing.. that took foreveeeer (but I only noticed after the match was over that they had Thrill of the Hunt)

  • @SabunoHakia said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/287997/wraith-suggestion-make-all-seeing-blood-a-brown-addon-its-useless-now

You don't understand it was actually OP before. You have sheer speed with the wraith, if you need more than 8 meters your doing it wrong but however I believe it should show people in lockers as a trade off because 8 meters is pretty darn close and a good wraith would be on top of someone easily but 8 meters lets you see around corners and prevent a Claudette situation if you get my drift 😉

Showing people in lockers should never be a thing. It's bad enough that Legion can get killer instinct on people hiding in lockers without stealth killers seeing them as well.

  • @DarkbeastPaarl said:

If the noise is the same on the Killer's side, that would kinda defeat the purpose of hiding your Boon Totems from them, if they're that easy to find.

The noise is very obvious on killer side, but you have to be nearly on top of it to hear it.

  • They're half off now? Unless that just got added back to the store with this update?

  • Love how, if you look at the different versions of it, it started at 8 meters in version 1.0, then went up to 10, then 12, now back down to 8. I mean I know they changed other aspects of the killer to justify those changes but still.

One thing they could have done if they wanted to counter the fact Wraith moves faster than ever before is making the uncloaking take a bit longer, while leaving it at 12 meters.

  • @DarkbeastPaarl said:

Dude, that's gonna be useful. I imagine the effects only work when a Survivor is near these Boon Totems, but those sound really good.

Yeah, within 24 meters, I think. So they're useful, but you have to be within range. But they affect the whole team, not just you, so there's that.

  • @slendermansmoom said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/287887/boon-no-one-devours-hope

that sounds way to op the game is already too survivor sided it doesn't need another broken survivor perk

Especially not YET ANOTHER second chance perk (or triple or quadruple, since it's a boon that can be reapplied over and over, or on multiple totems if more than one survivor brings it)

  • @DarkbeastPaarl said:

So I was right! The witch does have a Boon Totem. You know what it's called?

    She has 2 of them.

Circle of Healing (enables self-care for everyone + faster healing speed) and Shadow Step (removes scratchmarks and aura reading)

  • Looks fine to me, I don't see what you guys are complaining about. Heck, looks better than she used to, in my opinion.

  • Of course it's going to be $10, every nice cosmetic for popular character always is. Considering how popular Nea is and how nice that outfit is, I'm surprised they're not charging even more for it
