I playing only as a survivor! for three years now, the loops have become much more difficult! but, in my opinion, this is not the problem! the problem is the swf! they must resolve the imbalance that is created by the survivors who can communicate with each other, and make the game too sweaty for the killer! Sometimes the killer gets trolled, and that's even worse! in addition even for those who play as a survivor alone, like me, being with 3 swf companions makes the game ugly and boring!

I'm a little confused as to why you've referenced me, since your comment had no context against what I was saying in either of my two posts you tagged.

But in response, it is about some player's attitudes true, but I've faced more swf's who don't troll than those who do. Any "bully squads" I just treat as a higher difficulty level and learn from them.

I felt bad as I had a Bill who was clearly very bad. I am new too, but like, yikes. I had him at stage 2 in the first minute without trying go tunnel him. I slugged him like 3 times before I finally just started ignoring him because punishing him was starting to hurt my feelings.

Hehe, people always talk about survivors turning into killers, but maybe you've found a way killers may become a survivor!

  • These would be 6 attractive killers that could also work as something quite threatening in game for different reasons:

    1. Daniella from " Haunting Grounds"

    707760284d179ea959c81153a10e5af3.jpg

Alongside an unrealistically and frightening shard of glass she carries around as a weapon (which she holds tightly, cutting her hand), her clockwork movement and a very unnerving soundtrack as she approaches, Daniella is not someone to admire for too long.

    2. Lady Deathstrike from "X-Men"

    Lady-Deathstrike-Wolverine-Marvel-Comics-h683.jpg

In particular, this iteration of her has both sex appeal and terror, with large, adamantium enhancements that are scary and razor sharp. Her look also also resembles something akin to ancient Egypt, mixed with some future alien empire. Alongside the agility and bloodlust, she'd be a formidable foe.

    3. Reika Kuze from "Fatal Frame 3: The Tormented"

    FF_III_Image_4.jpg

The Tattooed Priestess stalks her prey and infects them with a curse in the form of an ever-enveloping tattoo. She has super-human strength, a skull projectile, flight that allows her to swoop on her prey and a "miasma" phase where just one touch will kill you. Think "exposed" with an instant Mori.. Yeah, that's scary enough!

    4. Villanelle from "Killing Eve"

    Jodie%20Comer%20Molly%20Goddard%20Dress%202.jpeg.jpg

An assassin who revels in torturing her prey both emotionally and physically, Villanelle is described as "rather literally weaponized feminity". She's a psychopath who takes risks, acts unpredictably and kills with such a flair as to help her escape boredom. Comical too, she is The Trickster's cooler, more dangerous female alternative.

    5. Nina Sayers from "Black Swan"

    natalie-portman-21468-1-1.jpg

Unique because she hasn't actually killed anyone, her descent into madness and hallucinations clearly shows she had every intention of killing for the "perfect performance". In fact, her back story would be brilliant for the Tomes, and were the Entity able to commit her to the role permanently with hallucinations as powers, her winged form would be terrifying!

    6. Faith Seed from "Far Cry 5"

    Faithcutout.png

Speaking of hallucinations, Faith's "Bliss" would be one heck of a power. Even she is an hallucination; dressing in clothing and beauty of an angel to hide the darkness of the drug she uses and the family she belongs to. In Bliss, Faith fires energy, summons people affected by the drug and multiplies - all potentials for an effective killer.

These 6 I feel have both beauty and horror that can lead to attractive, yet scary, killers.

  • When I'm in the killer role and recognise a survivor who clearly is just starting out (by how they play and not their cosmetics - beware the evil uet cunning office Dwight!), then I will go easier on them.

I'll still aim for a 2 hook and punish any bad decisions, but will let them survive and escape, as well as engage in a chase or 2 where they can hopefully learn to read the killer and learn a little more.

These people learning right now could be the MVP's of the future, if people give them a chance.

  • I'd love too; especially in the creative department. Unfortunately, I'd be absolutely useless to them because my skills in that area are more written than coded!

  • I have noticed a disparity in ranking recently that reminded me a little of when they first played with new ranking systems. In those, I experienced matches with 2 players significantly below my rank and 2 above. That was when matches were trying to match killers with the highest-ranking killer, which had mixed success.

Hopefully, when the team finalizes the new system, you'll be experiencing a much improved match-making! I do empathise with your predicament though. To make the best of a bad situation, try to learn how they play their mind games so that you're able to mimic those tactics in your future survivor games.

  • It's certainlu appreciative, and with some luck those fixes in that news section for the most severe of the problems is just around the corner, so that's decent too!

  • May I say that this type of post is the sort of wholesome posts we need more of to get people's confidence up. 👍

  • It's the lack of honour that some players have, mostly direspectful comments and being unable to be anything other than a sore loser or a bad winner. It's a game at the end of the day, so rather than blaming anything and evetything, those individuals need to first look at their own errors and improve.

It's closely followed by taking influencers as gospel, rather than finding their own way and coming up with tactics or perk mixes that suit them best.

  • It's ultimately a self-sacrificing gesture, so if a player does take offence to such an offer it says far more about the pride of the person in the killer role than the survivor player offering it.

Killers may reject it; downing the survivor and taking them to an exit gate (which, personally, is a sign of mutual respect), but if they take the offer it shows gratitude.

Basically, I only see it as a sign of honour and respect - something there needs to be a lot more of.

  • Mine is "House Of Leaves" by Mark Z. Danielewski. It's an absolutely maddening story about the downward spiral of an obsessed individual of details involving a house without end.

The best bit is that the tale about falling into madness isn't just about the terror he experiences and the tales he tells - it's also about sending the reader into the same vortex, blending genres, styles and narratives in twisted ways, so that the book (in essence) becomes a physical and mental manifestation of the chaos.

Here's a few snippets to illustrate what I mean:

    165251719_7973acc084_b.jpg 765501._SX540_.jpg 10.jpg

  • Cheryl has so much potential for some interesting stories - from either her constant travelling with Harry to escape the Order, what happens to her after Silent Hill 3 in more detail, or even a bit more about the impact of Silent Hill on the Entity (e.g.: Cheryl's ability to temporarily manipulate it).

    Heather-Mason-heather-mason-silent-hill-43337352-537-377.png

  • Learning a bit more about Bubba as a child might be nice. It's nice to learn about most of them, honestly.

  • It was an extremely tight call between Ellen Ripley and Sydney Prescott, but in the end Sydney wins. Also, with Ellen Ripley I legitimately feel worried for all the killers out there, as she will do damage to them.

So Sydney wins, mostly because I don't want Ellen killing the killers.

    Sidney-Prescott-Scream.jpg

  • If someone is being chased by a killer, they ought to be punished for stopping to do a generator in front of them.

  • Tells me nothing, other than one person has shared a screen. I am not saying it's not happening, but I'll wait for an official word. There have been too many dodgy claims and I like to wait for more than a singular piece of evidence.

Should more people experience this, then that's a thing to check. Until then, we don't know if this is a hack of thousands, or simply an attack on your friend.

  • This game is rife with punable opportunities😁

  • I had my first Twin match in absolute ages today! I was sacrificed and do not regret it - it's such a fun killer to face, and Charlotte's figure is very intimidating for some reason! Victor is just very comical, which does somewhat ruin the illusion, but this was a great killer idea and I don't know why a vocal group of people had such an issue with them!

I was hoping for this kind of comment and I was not disappointed.

It's not a proper thread without at least one dad joke!

  • I'll wait until BHVR release any information regarding this. If it's a data breach, they'd have to announce it and quickly. Hearing something from a friend about it isn't enough evidence to panic, especially since this sort of story has been used previously in gaming and proven false.

If someone from the team could shed some light on here, that would be appreciated.

  • Hello Jake,

I want to play a game: Currently, you cannot move, incased in solid dirt in a container. Only your hands and face are moveable. By each hand is a small set of bladed cogs, and in front of your face jagged knives and razors. When the clock starts, you have 90 seconds to give as much blood as possible. The blood trickles into that vessel, and once enough blood hits the marked level, the container will fall apart, releasing the dirt and you. Fail to do so, and the metal container above your head will open up, pouring hot, molten gold that will burn and drown you.

For years, you chose not to follow in the path of your family. That was commendable, but that drive turned into pride. You looked down on those who needed help in anyway, and worked on the basis of "one man's dirt is another man's treasure". Well, now your buried in your treasure and glory. Will you learn not to cut your nose to spite your face? Let's hope you do before the weight of your family comes back to crush you.

    Live or die Jake.

    Make your choice.

  • I'm not mentally exhausted, but am very bored by it. The posts that are more inquisitive or silly in nature are far more entertaining than reading a plethora of recycled, rudely-put complaints (although constructively made complaints are perfectly fine when presented properly and maturely).

One of many possible reasons for this might be because of feeling they have to be a certain way, because the other side has influenced them. Whether it is because they see invisible rules, told that some perks are weak or strong, complaints over playstyle, or even someone who has given up playing for others and now play for themselves only and be damned for others (which ironically is a result of the influence of others upon them) .. there seems to be constant pressure to play certain ways through this "You're wrong. I'm right" feel. That pressure is probably where it can feel exhausting.

  • Positive is good, and it would also be good to add respectful in there too.

There are times where either BHVR or some players act churlish and disrespectful, whether it be throwing false accusations, showing distain for another point of view or generally being dismissive. Also, there are moments where there are respectful yet constructive feedback, which has been proven more effective than slagging someone off. Positive criticism evokes a more positive response.

Likewise, ignoring complaints also can come across as disrespectful, and even if the complaint has no basis whatsoever, to at least feel heard is good. Of course nobody can respond to everyone individually, considering how many are writing in. Likewise, complaints need to be done in a manner which makes someone want to read, rather than see it as just a load of bile and ignore it.

Anyway, positivity and respect, yet also constructively critical and striving for better, is a good way forwards.

  • I do feel some empathy if I achieve that. If survivors are struggling I'll extend the trial, and if it's apparent there's a new player within they will most definitely survive, even if everyone else has to die.

The main reason for this is because I'd like people to continue playing, expanding the collective of players. Also, if someone starts off with some positive experiences, they're more likely to continue, and when I started I was glad there were some empathetic killers who showed mercy. Pass on the good will!

  • The Pale Rose is the only available ship to go down with!

  • The way to play him is as chaotically and unpredictably as possible - at least, that works for me!

He's the only killer I can think of where the aim is purely to cause panic, and that gets the hooks. I'll spend time zooming around ever unlikely gaps and routes; not fearing ramming into things and just being reckless and impossible to work out what the gameplan is.

I actually find him the most fun! Agreed, his added cool-down was a bit of an odd choice, considering. Not BHVR's finest decision by a long shot! But if you fancy just charging through the trial like a lunatic, you'll get the downs and hooks.

  • The 2nd perk idea is one I've always wanted as a way of throwing killers off the scent a bit. That my favourite.

The 1st perk sounds like it could be fun, especially when it comes to Kool-aiding it through a wall.

The 3rd sounds interesting. Not one I would feel tempted to use myself, but by no means useless.

These are some great ideas! Hand your CV into them Sir/ Madam/ Mx.

While developing Nemmy they had an iri add-on that did spawn a third zom zom, but scrapped it because it sapped game performance badly. So if another zombie effed up frames during internal PC test runs, imagine what it would do to the consoles...

That's a fair point to make. Yet, if they are currently working on a fix for the existing fps, maybe the reason that 3rd zombie didn't work in the first place is somehow linked to that. Once it is back up and working, maybe they could look again into it and see if it's a future possibility.

  • I'm calling bait on this topic, but also have to compliment the OP on a unique attempt in perhaps the weirdest, most unexpected way to get a rise I've seen thus far.

  • I'm actually playing Hillbilly this very momeny and I love playing as him, mainly because the best way to play him is being both inventive and nuts!

This doesn't necessarily wprk on other killers, but with Billy I find he's still very effective (just had a 3k on Haddonfield with no add-ons, and Unrelenting and Insidious as my randomly generated perks), and it's fun acting as a lunatic!

Sure, his cooldown did make him less viable, but he's still a great killer, and certainly the most enjoyable, since even if I fail I've had fun!

  • As an add-on, I'd be all for an extra zombie or 2, but as a base-kit those 2 individual zombies are fair enough, especially since Nemesis actually has outsourced help, whilst no other killer currently does.

Besides, the camping zombies are perhaps some of the best help you can get!

  • From Marvel Comics:

    1. Carnage is a symbiote merged with someone who is already a serial killer, plus he looks like a demon out of Hell. He's my top choice.

    carnage-art-5k_1538785847.jpg

    2. Doctor Octopus would be a nice addition, since he'd probably be one of very few killers enhanced by technology.

    2870bc4ce76f1e77a79fdf5a58f88d34--doctor-octopus-marvel-villains.jpg

    3. Sabretooth has that feral, animalistic look and aggression, and a strong bloodlust that would make him fit right in.

    f71d06a6474a3c16b060b95744e9bf16.jpg

    4. Hela has a number of powers at her disposal with which she can use. Plus, being a Death Goddess, Hela can join Pyramid Head and Myers in claiming survivors for her own.

    HelaMarvelHD.jpg

    5. Ghost would bring a form of stealth enhanced by technology instead of supernatural ability, which should have some good room to manoeuvre.

    Ghost3.jpg

    6. Lady Deathstrike with those long claws and cybernetic enhancements could create another stealth-like killer that could fit right in.

    681777489506c932dcbf302fe239fd5f.jpg

  • From DC Comics:

    1. Scarecrow would be an ideal candidate. His fear toxins could make him more monstrous and demonic, and he is the epitome of fear.

    MMDC-18-Scarecrow-from-Batman-Arkham-Knight-Statue-by-Prime-1-Studio-2.jpg

    2. Killer Croc is beastly, aggressive and has the right humanoid shape to add him into the more monstrous of killers.

    dc-comics-killer-croc-premium-format-silo-3002861.png

    3. Gorilla Grodd would fit into a similar vein to Kille Croc, and there is something very intimidating about gorillas when they're territorial.

    876a78ff908d35259e1dc2195883d517.png

    4. Cheshire moves away from the more monstrous characters, but she is a well-versed assassin and expert in poisons. Would make a nice change.

    b932b9d6e7469b5d09086131526501aa.jpg

    5. Mr.Zsasz, for obvious reasons. He's the most 'real' of the villains in the DC universe, and his carvings in his skin makes him both human and scary.

    Zsasz_%28DC%29.png

    6. Silver Banshee is both intimidating in appearance and her scream power could add a new emphasis on audio elements of the game.

    silver-banshee-cosplay-02.jpg

  • I have deliberately allowed myself to be sacrificed on occassion, depending on if the killer jad a really hard time and fell victim to bad matchmaking, or alternatively if the killer has been extremely generous. One match featured 2 DCs, to which the Wraith guided us remaining 2 survivors to gens, allowed us to pallet-drop him and escape. I opened the gates, but then waited for the Wraith to appear, led him to the killer shack basement, then pointed to the hook so he could sacrifice me, which he did.

It doesn't happen often, but if someone goes out of the way in their game to male mine more tolerable, it's only fair to return the favour. As for newer killers who are set up against far more experienced survivors, I'll allow them hits or a sacrifice because I don't want to put off newer players by acting like an entitled dick.

  • Forget this whole "Survivor mains are all the same" stuff, because it's not the role which defines how someone reacts - it's their general personality. If someone is a bad winner, they'll feel deserving of typing "EZ", regardless of their role.

As to why some type it, it's because of the above reason, but may also be a reaction to something within that trial which irked them and they want to let the opponent know they were upset. It also is typed by people who lost, yet somehow feel this retains their imaginary power-status (for some strange reason).

As a 50/50 player, I've had both sides use "EZ" in the past, and those players could be mains, 50/50's or even some preference to one side but not entirely.

Ultimately, it's a child-like response and should be treated as such: ignored. If it winds you up, best take a break or maybe think why a video game makes you mad. Perhaps there are other things that are troubling you, and this game was just the icing on the cake.

  • This could be pretty neat if it's pulled off correctly. It depends on the design, whether it be 2D or 3D; anime-styled vs MK-styled; etc..

I'd imagine this as an MK 2D game, but if people wanted to make it very surreal and turn it into something akin to WWE All-Stars, that could also work.

  • Pineapple Head punishes those who disagree.

    sh2_pyramid_head.jpg

  • Dying on a hook for me. That death involves being run through multiple times via the mid-section and chest. Not to mention the agony of wasting away on the hook or fending off pincers.

With EGC, you're harpooned off the ground, and quickly twisted and stabbed through the head. It's over violently, but quickly. No long-lasting agony.

  • Feng Min seems alright from what I've seen. It's better than what it was (taking away that weird fringe effect) and have made her look like a normal person.

I've seen a couple of alternative suggestions, but they look too idealised and doll-like. This Feng looks more like a regular person.

The changes will split opinion, sure! There are a couple I don't like. Doesn't mean that someone else would like them though.

  • I'd keep the size of the skill check zone as is and not increase the frequency, but a progressive 3%/4%/5% bonus based on a great skill check would be good.

My worry with the original idea is that the great skill check zone increased by 40% with more frequent skill checks at 5% would be a little too boosted. I like the big 5%, but rapid fire skill checks could destroy a gen, and for a big progress boost I'd think it needs to be earned a bit more than a whopping great skill check zone.

  • Bubba + Tinkerer = Absolute nightmare fuel!

He can feel unfair, but he's also one of the few killers that genuinely instills a feeling of terror, and nerfing him could result in that aura vanishing. The game really needs some more horror aspects, so getting rid of one seems counter-productive.

  • By it's nature, Dead By Daylight does have an issue whereby some players become completely attached to one side only and refuse to see the other side, believing all players on the otherside to be one and the same.

It's also - as all pvp games - competitive in nature, and unfortunately there are some out there who are incapable of understanding empathy, humility and being a decent person; instead hiding behind a cold mask of apathy to hide their insecurity that they will never be good enough in their eyes.

There are good people out there on both sides, but it's tougher to be humble and respectful than be a dick, apparently. Those tend to be the ones who demand respect for nothing.

The best thing to do is to mark those trials which end up positive or neutral as ones to highlight and remember. That is harder, since the mind is more tuned into remembering scenarios to avoid, but you'll probably find there are more neutral and positives combined overall, compared to negative experiences.

  • I've not come across a face-camping Bubba in a long, long time! What Cannibal players have in their favour is using a save to down multiple opponents, so you could argue it's in their interest to allow the save, so long as they're close enough to hit the multi-down.

There are plenty of ways to deal with it, and perks that can take him on. If he is doing a genuine face-camp (which is a dull, talentless but within-the-rules skill) it's harder, but it's exceptionally rare, and a good player can easily get past this to save by forcing the killer to hit.

Perk-wise, the list of potentially useful perks to escape, slow or help the camped include: Kindred; No-One Left Behind; Slippery Meat; Deliverance; Leader; Adrenaline; Borrowed Time; Breakdown; Mettle Of Man; Camaraderie; Desperate Measures; Resilience. Granted, some work better than others, but they all have a use.

And play-wise, there's baiting the killer; forcing a hit; getting on with gens, etc..

Overall, there are a multitude of options available, and even then you cannot survive every match. Best to learn how to avoid the hook, as prevention is the best protection of all.

I don't think the other survivors were bad at all, they were just very rude afterwards and taking their frustrations out on me I guess. I just don't want to get in trouble/banned if like the killer gives me the go ahead and then that gives them the power to report me even though I assumed things were all good.

There's no real *survivor/killer guide to the galaxy* handbook, I know people get heated over all sorts of things, which generally are silly and just a big part of the game as far as I'm aware. I just don't know if what I did would actually be considered "working with the killer" even though that wasn't my intentions, I was slugged and just scooting around looking for hatch when he came and picked me up right before I bled out to let me wiggle free.

No, that's not working with the killer, so you're okay.

As @AetherBytes said: it's only working with the killer if you're deliberately leading the killer to other survivors to slaughter; blocking survivor escape routes so it's easier for the killer to down them.

If anything, it appears the killer was wanting both of you to escape (although you never can tell, and I always expect to be backstabbed because some players enjoy that, whilst others are open in their intentions).

Nothing should happen to you, because even if the footage was shown to the people who make the decisions, all they'd see is a killer picking you up, letting you wriggle free and allowing you to rescue another. The fact they dc'd early works in your favour as there is no evidence the killer was gonna kill them. Now, if they waited and the killer attacked, ot would be slightly less clear, but even then there's nothing conclusive.

  • Completely agree, and also the idea of the battle between dark and light fits in perfectly!

Perk-wise, he could have them themed around light within the arena. I had some ideas, but no names yet:

Perk 1. A perk that, when a generator lights up, if the killer is within a certain radius of it the light will blind them.

Perk 2. Once per trial, if injured or dying you can find a finished gen and remain in the light for a short period of time before healing up one state.

Perk 3. Limited times per trial, if armed with a torch you can overcharge it so it blinds the killer instantly, at the loss of all the torches charge (mainly to help at lower levels).

  • They could rework No-one Left Behind into one of the new Boon totems.

A bit like NOED, it could activate on any remaining totem and highlight all survivors and increase altruistic actions as currently is. Likewise, the killer can break that totem.

If that works, then it could be really powerful for the final part for solo players.
