This was already confirmed as a bug, in the bug reporting section of the forum.
-
I don't have anything about this on the Live servers - the one on the PTB is something that was specific to the PTB. Can I get some more information on this, what's happening exactly?

No, perks from the Shrine of Secrets will still be payable with Shards not BP. You will still get BP back if you purchase a perk that you already own though.
-
We've got given an official date out yet when the update does go live...will try to get one prior to the time though when everything is confirmed.

We understand that you guys want it to be fair but shouldn't cockiness be... discouraged? I mean we can't do anything with people teabagging at exit gates so shouldn't we be able to basically get one last shot if they decide to stick around just to be rude?
you can still hit the survivor, you can also close the hatch if you find it first and start EGC.
-
The grab feature was removed to prevent matches from being taken hostage - as neither player was willing to make a move, killers wouldn't hit survivors and survivors wouldn't jump into the hatch, so the game was being delayed indefinitely.
The changes made recently to the hatch, now make it much fairer - the player who finds the hatch first gets it...as it only opens when it's a 1v1.
-
I can't give a date I'm afraid, when it's closer to the time we'll reveal more information then.
-
We're not removing the flans, they will still stay in your inventories, same as the previous anniversary cakes.
-
There are no plans to extend the Event.
-
We are aware of this issue. Unfortunately we will not be able to put the perks/levels back on the account and have supplied BP as compensation for this - your Live Build remains unaffected.
We are looking into the issue around 201 right now.

I get that it is scary that it could happen, I can't confirm since I haven't checked my account which I doubt was in trouble because of how the PTB works but remember that it also happened before when people lost legacy so I guess it is nice to warn just in case.
Some people could've said that they lost stuff on Otz's stream just to get his attention (like always)
yes, which is why I do not want to start a panic

I saw people on Otzdarva's stream saying that so I decided to warn people just in case
my concern here, is that it's not actually true - and I do not want to start a panic on loss of progress.
-
Buying a full DLC usually comes with an extra cosmetic item, which is not available if you purchase the characters with AC's or Shards.
-
Linked sets are linked for a reason and should not be changed...we also will not allow the promoting of this on this forum.
-
Thank you for those that kept it respectful on this thread.
-
Malicious emblem doesn't only consider hooking survivors - there's points for hook stages, downing a survivor and also points subtracted for survivors healing from injured or dying state.

@Taingaran said:
Developers, can you update the information about Emblems on the Wiki? For example, the emblem of Malicious. In one match I got 55 points for 5 hangings, in another 44 points for 6 hangings.
I'm really this interested)
We do not control the Wiki, the information supplied there is from private individuals not attached to our company.

Until a release date is given by us, please never assume that it will be such and such a date/day. We try to give as much information around this as we can, which is why we advised yesterday that the PTB will be on Wednesday this week.
Things like Event dates etc follow no set days for release - they just don't usually start on a Friday but can quite freely start on any other day.
-
Can you try to record doing this so we can see what's happening - even if it means recording on your phone (I do appreciate the difficulty of recording on Switch).
-
There's no plan to extend the Event I'm afraid.

do you have to p3 every character to get the "special reward" or if you just p3'd dwight would you only get it on dwight
you would only get the distinct reward on the character that has reached P3.
-
If you think you've encountered a bug then please make a bug report - as an aside, I just played on that map with no drop in frames, so please supply your logs when creating a bug report so that further investigation can be done on why you have this issue.
-
You can still hook trade, it's a bit more difficult to pull off successfully but it's doable.
We will be watching the feedback to all these changes very intently and things can be adjusted prior to the PTB going Live - so please test things and let us know.

I have a question about prestige, so I'll just put it here.
How do you get from P1 to P2?
Do you need like 5 more levels or how does this work? I didn't found anything about this, so does anyone know?
Once you've reached P1 on your character, you again level them up to level 50, then you will be given the option to prestige once again.
-
I think our lovely gay bird image above, is a good way to end this thread. Inclusivity matters, Pride Month matters as it brings awareness.
And if you have issues with that, I suggest not commenting in future and moving along to a thread where you might have something relevant to add - bigotry isn't welcome on this forum at all.

In that case its a month after release isnt it for reviewing?
with this massive update that's been done with the perks and the prestige, that schedule is out. The design team will check to see if any adjustments need to be made and assign a priority as necessary.

@jesterkind said:
Oh, damn. Do we know what prompted this?
That is a quick response if the problem was in this patch, so I'm impressed either way.
As we said in the tweet there was an issue with the basement, killers were just too tall to fit it seems!
So it was killswitched about an hour ago - the forum post in the KB was updated then.
-
This has gone on long enough. The topic of the discussion is not "should there be accessibility options" but this is particularly about Spine Chill and that has been discussed in the first couple of pages, the rest is an argument about what should/shouldn't be heard.
As I've said, we're making this adjustment to Spine Chill to account for our players who are hard of hearing ahead of future changes that incorporate more accessibility features.

@dugman said:
Just FYI the devs commented a few days ago or so that they have Sadako on their priority list for a balance pass but simply didn't have the bandwidth to do it on this mid-chapter patch because of all the other things that are being adjusted. So they're definitely going to be doing a pass on Sadako, it's just not clear if it'll be in the next full chapter patch (i.e. the new Resident Evil?) or in the next midchapter patch.
Personally I put Sadako in the "ok" bucket at about 2/5 stars, same place I put Wraith. Her map mobility and Stealth are decent so she's not in the trash tier or anything, but her weakness in a chase does hurt her a bit and keeps her out of the higher tiers.
I just want to correct something here...we did not say that we have Sadako on our priority list. The exact wording was "we'll do our usual review when the time comes". There's no time scale on that comment that Peanits made or a priority level.

So let me get this straight.
Spine Chill will have a visual indicator for the terror radius intensity, but the action speed bonuses will only apply if the killer has direct LOS (plus the 0.5 second linger)? And does the LOS stuff still apply if there is no terror radius?
The LOS part applies whether there is a terror radius or not - that's not changed from the Dev Update.
The perk only shows a visual notification when in terror radius - gaining intensity the closer the TR (for example).
I think people are getting confused because the current version of Spine Chill the perk lights up when active.

So even if a killer is undetectable, per example wraith is invisible, if he is in direct line of sight spine chill will light up?
The lighting up part of the perk is purely about terror radius, a cloaked Wraith does not have a terror radius.

Assuming cool down that's being added to Spine Chill also won't be connected to the Terror Radius indicator?
There's no cooldown being added to the perk?
If you're referring to the 0.5s linger, that will remain.
-
@tendyhands said:
So spine chill still wont work when a killer is in stealth?
Only if the killer has direct line of sight...when the killer is in full stealth, there's no terror radius so that part of the perk will not be active.
-
@Jarky said:
So if I'm understanding this right (I'm slow, sorry, bear with me), the perk will have two parts when it goes live (hopefully).
It'll light up when the killer has LoS with you AND it'll also change its intensity (which I assume is the brightness of the perk?) on the perk itself depending on the terror radius?
No it won't light up if the killer has line of sight of you. Your action bar will have the the action speed bonus if the killer is looking directly at you - in Line of Sight.

But if it only lights up when the killer is in LOS, how will it show different strengths of TR when the killer isnt? that's what's confusing to me
The visual update part will show the strength of the Terror Radius by being paler and then getting stronger.
You're thinking of Spine Chill right now with lighting up etc, not with the proposed change.
-
We will be monitoring how this plays out on the PTB, as with all the other changes that are being made. If things do turn out to be problematic, then things can be changed prior to the update going Live (or shortly after at least).

Will the terror radius indicator be there without LOS requirement or only when killer has LOS?
From my understanding the terror radius part is not connected to the LOS part...which is where it makes the perk accessible for hard of hearing players.

Can we get any of the other accessibility changes that people have been requesting for years?
We are looking at accessibility options in general...I do not have further information that I can share at this time however.

@Ryuhi said:

Yeah i'm gonna go ahead and say this was done because the change was pissing off survivor players and not because of accessibility. There's a mountain of issues in that department that get routinely ignored for both sides. It even goes directly counter to their reasoning for wanting to change the perk, its awkward counterplay.
The change is purely down to accessibility.
Spine Chill will still be as we described in the Dev Update -however, there will be a visual indicator of the Terror Radius on the perk (hopefully in time for Live release). This is not a permanent solution, and we are looking into other accessibility options.
-
@Marigoria said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3029703#Comment_3029703
So it will only work with LOS again?
Yes. But we will have a visual indicator of terror radius however it will not be in the PTB, hopefully that will be done before Live.
-
I want to clear something up with regards to Spine Chill.
The perk is going to work exactly as we stated in the Dev Update, with the line of sight requirements...however we are adding a visual indicator for the strength of the terror radius. This is down to the amount of accessibility comments that we have received. This is also not a permanent solution - we are working on accessibility improvements and when something has been implemented, that part of Spine Chill will be removed.
Sorry for the confusion caused around this. And we do agree, it's not ideal for players to have to run a perk in order to play the game.
-
Looping is an integral part of the game and it does take some skill which is where newer players tend to struggle.
As a killer, you also get bloodlust plus perks to help you to shut down loops if you're struggling. I completely understand when you are new it can be hard to learn how to play around a survivor who is good at looping and learning specific tiles, there are quite a few YouTube videos out there that explains tiles in more detail and how to play them. But I can definitely say, looping is not going anywhere - chases are one of the main parts of the game.
-
The Entity will always spawn on the perk - always has, which is why it's important to get the perks straight away.
