  • I don’t think this perk combo is horribly oppressive it’s just boring to keep going against when everyone is running it. Yesterday out of 10 matches, 9 killers ran this combo. I just logged off and played something else cuz I was tired of loading into a match and automatically getting hit, losing my item and then having the killer know everywhere I’m at on the map if I don’t touch the item, then being oblivious if I do touch the item to move it… which by then the killer already knows where I am and I’m oblivious.

Maybe it needs a nerf, I think it’s too early to tell. But it’s definitely not fun to go against every single match.

  • I just made another post about this today, it was moved it to feedback and suggestions if you wanna look. I posted a couple weeks ago full of screenshots showing people complaining about never receiving newsletter and missing out on codes

There are times you stomp swf without realizing, I can see it now even if they implemented the ability to see whos a group, these salty kids finding a way to still accuse you of being a swf even though the game says you're not, there would be posts complaining the first day saying survivors are somehow a swf when they're not showing up as one because even if you put the evidence right under their nose of why they lost a match they'll point to anything else but the actual problem and blame that instead, it will never change.

The number of times I’ve been accused in end game chat of being a SWF in solo Q is hilarious. The vast majority of my solo matches are a dumpster fire. I get one match where everyone is solo or we are two singles and a duo and we actually work together, and the killer flames in chat for it. “NICE SWF BULLY SQUAD!” I laugh and say I don’t even know them and they call me a liar. People really want to desperately believe that the only reason they lose matches are due to SWF

You can play as much as you like in kill your friends though. Oh you don't earn bp? Isn't the point to play with your friends and not farm bp? Or are you actually using a swf to farm bp?

Just because you want to play with your friends, doesn't mean i want to.

So basically anyone who wants to play with friends shouldn’t be able to earn BP, XP and progress in the game? You sound absolutely ridiculous right now.

I can’t tell you how many matches I play with a full SSF where we are simply there to meme for the laughs and we all leave with 5-10K BP.

Sounds like you need to just play another game if you’re this upset about people being able to play with their friends without you knowing about it.

  • I still haven’t gotten a newsletter yet. Signed up on 3 different email addresses to see if they work and I have never gotten one.

Frustrating to be missing out on bloodpoint codes and other rewards because they can’t get their email system working properly.

Well it is what it is... Not like this is limited to one side... And I don't think bm is something that is possible to remove from gaming.

Never said it was limited to one side. Not at all so no need for the “but the other side does this argument” because I get just as annoyed with survivors who stomp a killer and all stand there and teabag at exit gate instead of just leaving.

My post is about the comment that “may as well stand there and troll around a bit” by BMing the people who have clearly already lost. Why? What does that accomplish besides adding to the already toxic environment present in this game? Thats the mindset that I’m commenting on that you displayed.

  • Distortion is not the most debated perk. Not even by a mile. Seems like this post is just meant to try and put it on the map to be the next survivor perk to be complained about in order to get nerfs.

I mean when he is bleeding you out anyway he might as well troll around a bit... I don't see that different than just standing there doing nothing until you bleed out.

Sure. May as well troll around by BMing the opponents who’ve already lost. This is exactly the attitude that brings so much toxicity to this game. Nobody knows how to be a gracefully winner, just take the W and move on.

  • @Beaburd said:

The worst part is this doesn't significantly affect the perk's value either.

Sure, it's a buff, and the raw numbers with everyone working on a generator for straight seconds with this perk are likely to be better as opposed to if you did not spend 15 seconds casting it. However, now the perk suffers from 'Friendly Competition' syndrome.

Yeah, sure, great, the buff now lasts for 90 seconds.

Unfortunately generators with 2 people lasts ~53 seconds and generators with 3 people (very rare) last ~43 seconds without skill checks, and a variable amount of time less with skill checks. Since the duration of the objective is significantly shorter than the duration of the buff, the remainder of the buff in the majority of scenarios is likely to be wasted traveling, rescuing, booning, etc.

So this buff, while decent if everyone hugs a generator for 90 seconds, is unrealistic because it's literally impossible to do so.

    —

Basically they nerfed meme value of it by increasing the cooldown, and they didn't really affect the benefits because it's too difficult to consistently make use of the longer duration in a real game.

So I'm sitting here asking myself what the point of these changes are, as they don't cater to either their fun-loving meme nor efficiency-loving sweaty audience.

All they needed to do was make a dynamic cast time, or reduce the cast time necessary for the buff to be fully applied for 60 seconds. Oh well.

This is very well put! It nerfs the meme value exponentially and doesn’t really buff the actual value. I’ll be honest I don’t see anyone running this perk for anything other than the meme value and nerfing that from it just ruins the perk.

When map boosting is in place that overrides the map repeat prevention (intentionally). There's 6 maps per week that are boosted

I understand the purpose of the map boosting for the pre anniversary stuff but this is kinda overboard if I’m being honest. Getting the same maps 6 times in a row is way too much even for boosted maps.

  • So you’re mad that higher skilled survivors have a faster way to counter her traps instead of the time consuming crouch and wipe one?

  • @PogbertChamperson said:

It could be that you are getting mass reported by the player you are referring to with multiple accounts and you are getting auto-banned. I'm not even sure if that's a system DBD would even use, and to be honest I doubt that is the case. Manual reviews after someone gets flagged is what is likely happening and they might just deem you to be griefing. Without context/video evidence no one on the forums can truly know.

Moderators/BHVR employees would be the only ones to give you a reliable answer. If you had provided us with the mentioned screen recordings then maybe we could come to an informed conclusion

Mass reporting with multiple accounts isn’t possible. You can only report the player in game that you played a match with. Somehow this player seems to be getting constantly matched with the same other player who keeps reporting them, is what it looks like.

OP have you reported this player for harassment? If they’re making homophobic remarks to you in chat that is reportable.

I've never made the claim I get tunneled/camped a lot, first of all.
Second of all: copying my follow-up, since i'm pretty sure you missed it:

like, i can already think of multiple reasons why this happens in his chat at all.
    1) his chat knows he's actively trying to get people to provide evidence, but they want to troll him (not uncommon for his chat) and they complain but don't provide evidence to contribute to his already come-to conclusion just because they think the banter would be funny

    2) someone complains this happens to them but it's not recorded (not everyone's a streamer, this isn't uncommon)

and even then, this is still a SMALL pool of people. because we're only taking Scott Jund viewers into account.

not only this, you say "everyone", for all we know, this could be like 10 people in a short period of time. i doubt this is hundreds and hundreds of people, he's a big streamer, but he's not *that* big. i feel using Scott in this scenario as an offensive tactic against people overreporting camping/tunneling is crazy. i feel this is confirmation bias on your part. you saw in Scott's chat a few people couldn't prove it, therefore there's just no way it could happen, it's gotta be proven... it's not like Scott only streams to a couple thousand people and dbd has tens of thousands of people or anything.

Exactly. And DBD has hundreds of thousands of players. But I’m sure this guy with his obvious bias going into it only watching two people stream and him personally deciding the definition of tunneling, is an obvious fact based study.

  • And once again and lastly since I’m done with this convo. You not seeing it and him claiming to not see it does not mean it doesn’t happen and his fake study full of errors and fallacy doesn’t negate that. Have a good day.

Regardless it's the closest we've got to real evidence. And while yes a killer chasing someone for 5 gens and not getting them at the end is considered tunneling. Not a single person would complain about it. They would record it and post it on YouTube. Like I said people claim to get tunneled 24/7 but I almost never see it. He never sees it and all of the content creators I watch I almost never see it in their videos unless its specifically titled that way.

No it’s not. It’s nowhere NEAR real evidence and I’d bet that BHVR has way better analysis and study on this than he does because they would actually set up an actual non-biased study and not what this guy did. 🤣🤣

I believe he said in the video it was around 500 people. And he just did reddit and the forums. He said anybody could stream and you didn't have to talk or anything. It's easy to stream gameplay without a face cam and just the game so anyone could do it. Only 2 people actually sent him vods. I have no clue if the people who sent him the vods claimed they were being tunneled on the poll but they did say they get tunneled all the time.

As for the definition of tunneling it's very obvious and universally agreed on that the most common form of tunneling that people complain about is 3 hook tunneling and getting someone out as early as possible. So that's the definition he went with.

Also the fact that hundreds of people allegedly said they were tunneled and only 2 people sent him VODS is an issue that doesn’t help his case. You cannot say whether tunneling does or doesn’t happen with only two matches and it’s a logical fallacy to say “No one sent me evidence so therefore evidence doesn’t exist” when the burden for providing evidence is high and he did nothing to help facilitate making it easier. It’s not easy for anyone to simply stream and it’s certainly not easy to expect hundreds of people to take 8 hours out of their day to stream to prove tunneling to some random person online. I imagine most of those people probably thought “screw that dude I don’t have time for that.”

The problem is, he seems to take that “See they didn’t wanna prove it because they can’t!” And that’s not how that works.

What he SHOULD have done was instead of simply doing a poll (easy to reply to) and then asking people to show up and stream for 8 hours (not easy to do) he should have asked for people to volunteer for a study. As people to sign up, commit to an 8 hour stream and make sure he had..let’s say.. a minimum of 50-100 gamers willing and able to do this. This is how polling work, you get a small sample size. Then have all those people do it and have him go through the results with a group of people who all vote “was his or was this not tunneling?” that way you have a non-bias group deciding on it as opposed to just his lone personal opinion on tunneling seeing as how he already has a bias that tunneling doesn’t happen.

That’s called a control group that accounts for variables and removes personal bias to come up with actual data. He did none of this and the conclusion he came to was a simple logical fallacy of “No one (2 people) showed me proof so it doesn’t happen!”

Again it’s not that simple for everyone to stream depending on their computer system or their internet. Thats a variable that needs to be accounted for. Based on what you’re saying it appears again that he has no control group whatsoever and variables weee not accounted for.

And there is no universally agreed upon definition of tunneling which is why what he sees as tunneling should be clearly stated. His “study” does not pass muster.

  • I also really need people to stop using “I don’t see it so it doesn’t happen” as “proof” of something not happening. Huge logical fallacy there

He did a poll on these forums and got everyone's input. Then he asked people to stream for 8 hours and make timestamps for where they go tunneled. He went through every single stream they sent and where they said they were tunneled. And they were all wrong, not a single person was tunneled more than 1 or 2 matches out of 8 hours.

Send him your proof if you have it. Like I said I never see it either so the burden of evidence is on the people making the claim to prove it.

This forum is a tiny compilation of all of DBD gamers. Where else did he do polls at? Plus how many responses did he get in his poll? What about the people who don’t stream? How many actual participants did he get? How many of the people who replied to his poll saying they were tunneled were the actual people Lagos streamed him proof? Also what’s his definition of tunneling and why does he get to decide what constitutes tunneling and what doesn’t?

See what’s wrong with his approach as an actual scientific and or statistical analysis?

  • @HexHuntressThighs said:

Literally changes nothing. He said he doesn't believe people who say it and asked for proof. People even streamed for him to watch it and there was zero tunneling in it at all.

Everything I say is weird to you for some reason. And its weird of you to say I'm propping up a CC when all I'm doing is pointing to a study he did on all of us, YOU included because he made the poll on these forums. Besides my own experience and watching videos of people claiming to be tunneled have extensively proven people either A. Are lying. Or B. Have no clue what tunneling actually is.

It’s hilarious to me when people like him disingenuously ask for “proof” for stuff like this because they’re obviously just sea lioning. Let’s break this down.

In order to provide legit proof of excessive tunneling that means you have to show ie record multiple matches. It’s not JUST one match. It’s multiple matches over longer periods of time. That’s how we get statistics and are able to quantify things. So let’s say I tell someone “In 20 matches I’ve played I got tunneled out in 15.” So for someone like Scott that means he wants me to record, upload and give him the links to 20 full matches. Each match typically lasts about 10-15 minutes on average. If I’m tunneled out at 5 gens that’s maybe a 3-4 minute video EXCEPT we still wanna show the entirety of the match so he can’t say “We’ll that was just you, he didn’t tunnel anyone else so maybe you just were toxic!” so we show the full match for the full view. Also maybe im not sound first so I wanna show the full match to show that I was the 2nd or 3rd person tunneled. So If I’m showing 20 matches at 10-15 minutes per match, that’s a LOT of recording and upload time that I have to spend to show someone, which could be even longer if I don’t have super fast internet.

Then let’s say I show it to him and he comes back with “Well how do I know this was 20 consecutive matches?!” You could have played 50-60 matches and this is all spread out diluting your stats so how do I know this is what you say it is?” Then you’re in the position of what? Having to somehow prove that these matches were all played consecutively? How would you go about doing that?

So let’s say you make it easier on yourself and say “Okay I’ll show you 5 matches instead” and you show 5 matches and you got tunneled in 3-4. Then he can say “Okay but that’s only 5 matches! That doesn’t show that you’re being overwhelmingly tunneled!”

In order to prove to him what he wants would legitimately take way more time, effort and resources than one person can reasonably be expected to exert and he’s expecting multiple multiple people to do this?

Thats how sea lioning works. Either proving to someone what they want is too burdensome and time consuming so you just don’t do it, or you do it and they move goal posts constantly and use that to “disprove” what you’re saying. I’m even willing to bet most people declined to show him proof because they already recognized this and it wasn’t worth it to them. Then he gets to say he “won” because “no one showed me proof!”

The fallacies are so many in why this dudes “study” is bogus and the fact that anyone sees him as a credible source as far as whether or not tunneling really happens is beyond laughable to me.

  • Unfortunately the gap between solo and SWF is just so wide that there’s not much to do other than find friends to SWF with. I was so excited for this bloodfeast and was planning to play every day to grind points and level up my next survivor. Instead I’ve barely played because either killers are tunneling everyone out, camping to death or survivors are DCing, giving up on hook or sandbagging their teammates. I’m finishing matches with 30-40K with a 3X BP boost and my own BP offering and that’s ridiculous to me. Not even worth it

  • @Starrseed said:

okey im gonna ignore all the gameplay aspekts you talked about since thats a mountain of stuff but i would like to adress the very last part the bm.

im a firm believer that every dev should have no tolerance when it comes to bm. for some reason gamer defend being a prick to other people like they cant have fun if they dont say/show the other player that they are better.

yes that stupid humping should go. hitting on hook should go and bleeding out should go but tbagging pointing after a pallet stun and waiting out the egc schould also go.

and since i know for a fact i will get people here that tell me im soft or i need to get help if bm in a game hurts me blablabla….

dont waste your time you will not change my mind and you will most certainly not get me to answer you and get into a fight about it. in every sport being a prick and taunting and badmouthing the other team gets you into trouble but for some reason gamers love that stuff. some even take it as some stupid batch of honor talking about how vile lobbys where once and they survived that cause they are so hard

Unfortunately there are a lot of people in this community (and in gaming in general since this community isn’t the only one) who get off on making the game miserable for the other side. Thats literally their idea of “fun” and they defend it as if that’s actually normal, by calling it “winning.” “Winning is fun to me!” Great that’s fine but when your winning involves tunneling someone out at 5 gens so they don’t even get to play the game, or hooking someone and standing there and just hitting them on hook repeatedly until they die, I have to question that.

There was a post on here recently where someone complained about either a game mode or event or something and said they wouldn’t play it because it removed their ability to slug. They literally said slugging out all the survivors and making them bleed out was their fun/what they enjoyed and they were mad they couldn’t do it.

  • @Junylar said:

Meanwhile: flashlights, flashbangs, blast mines, head-on, boil over + breakout, sabo, pallet saves and teabagging exist, not to mention OTR and basekit BT used for bodyblocking. So until all of this is removed, what you described should stay as some kind of retaliation killers can have.

This is exactly the problem with this community. The idea that you want to be able to “retaliate” at someone because of the perks/items they’re given by the devs, rather than saying you need “counters” shows the mindset of yourself and so many others. Yes a lot of people engage in toxic behaviors just to be toxic like BM on hook, teabagging, flashlight clicking, humping on ground etc.

But the amount of times I’ve seen people on here get so angry when buffs are announced for one side that they say “FINE NOW IM GONNA PLAY LIKE THIS!” and it’s usually a way to retaliate or make the game miserable for the other player is mind blowing. Taking changes that the game developers make that you don’t like and taking that anger out on the players in the game is the foundation of what’s wrong.

  • I’ve gotten that same message multiple times when the server crashed. Half the time I get a penalty and the other half I don’t. I have no clue why or how their system works.

  • For the people being disingenuous, the only way to counter tunneling is to become a god tier looper. Thats literally it. Killers are built with more speed than survivors, not to mention multiple haste perks annd andd ons and no matter how long you run they will catch you which is the point. So if they decide to tunnel you and you’re not a god tier looper then you’re just screwed.

So basically we are telling all survivors “if you dont wanna get tunneled, get good and be the top 5 percent of players!” So basically all survivors have to be there with no beginner or intermediate skill levels to counter tunneling. Also let’s be real, how many of us have played with someone who was that god tier looper who ran the killer for 3-5 gens and then had the killer rage out on them for it?

Those same killers who will complain about “Gen speeds are too fast! Nerf gens!” are the same ones who lost their gens because they committed to trying to hard tunnel one survivor at 5 gens who happened to be the god tier looper of their group, instead if knowing when to give up and go after someone else.

For the record I do think that something needs to equally be done about making anti-tunnel basekit as well as slowing down gen speeds but this idea that countering tunneling is super easy and readily available is BS.

They could just add an icon in the HUD. Also there being no difference between cleansing a dull, cleansing a Hex, booning a dull or booning a Hex. Is quite annoying

I’m a survivor main but this and the OP I can’t agree with. Yes having more info for solo Q like the HUD is very helpful but I don’t think asking for every single bit of info to be available to us is healthy for the game, and personally isn’t as fun. If I know everything that my teammates are doing in detail, which kinds of totems they’re breaking, them knowing I plot twisted, etc it removes a lot of the challenge of the game imo.

There definitely needed to be some closing of the info gap between set and solo Q but I think the game should still be more about the unknown and how do we deal with it in the match.

Even with the efficiency penalty, just 2 survivors alone can complete a gen in 52.94 seconds without perks. Stacking Deja Vu and Prove will still be a dramatic increase.

And why are we talking about every other progression perk than the ones I said? I also see a lack of Streetwise/Built To Last being mentioned as I combo those into Hyperfocus/Stake Out and do a gen by myself extremely fast.

But to keep this on the topic of Deja Vu, there's still the problem it's a massive snowball perk that only becomes better the less gens there are, ESPECIALLY if you break the 3 gen.

Yes but in this scenario you are running an entire gen speed build meant to do gens quickly. That also leaves you open to vulnerabilities elsewhere like healing, being seen by aura reading perks from the killer and no exhaustion perks for chase.

We can say “but what about all 4 players running those?! But the stats have shown time and again that that o ly ever happens in higher MMR swfs which are not the norm in this game. Those situations are not common whatsoever. 4 man solo Q survivors are not coordinating like this.

  • You are fully capable as killer of opening the gates yourself. Just open the gate and start EGC. Problem solved.

Gate regression is not needed and as someone above said would make it too easy for certain killers to hold gates indefinitely regressing it, especially with bad gate spawns when they’re right next to each other on the same wall.

I hate this argument because it doesn't account for the FOUR survivors.

It takes 1 good survivor who knows their loops to waste a ton of time for the other 3 to hammer out up to 3 different gens. This is disregarding perks as well: Second chances, gen progression, and exhaustion perks. Against top tier killers, you may have an argument, but the general M1 killers/killers that need setup/weaker M2 killers? It's normal at a decent MMR to lose 2 gens in the first chase even if it goes well.

"Why not swap survivors if the first one is taking too long?" Because you need to know where the others are, get to them, and manage to win a chase against them in less time it'd take to down your first target. And again, you risk the next target being good at loops as well while your first target takes over their gen.

And let's not forget, Pop and Pain Res only activate on hooks. Pain Res being once per person. That regression is wasted on any gen already completed or any new gen barely touched.

But if you’re chasing a survivor who can loop you for 3-4 gens how is that spending less time than it would take you to find and down a new target?

The issue is you as killer need to know when to give up a chase and start patrolling gens. The survivors only have one objective and that’s where they’re gonna be most of the time. Chase them off gens, hit and run until you find that weaker looper and go for them.

Having said this I do agree that if killers are gonna get gen regression nerfs they do need to increase gen times to make up for it, but we also need to acknowledge that killers need to do better at spreading their pressure, and knowing when to give up a chase.

bodyblocking for 10 second is not neccassary. You did identify one problem with buckle up. If a survivor is in front of you and your camping the slug, the killer could hit the survivor and knock them down. So buckle up likely needs small buff like 1.5 second iframes to prevent that camping slug gameplay.

add that same idea to BT sprint burst idea.

you’re not body blocking for 10 seconds. It just gives you 10 seconds to not get insta downed off hook. If you hit someone who body blocks after 2-3 seconds off hook then that’s it.

  • Yup, only 5 percent of my dailies are survivor so I rarely do them. I do the ghostface and Myers ones cuz I enjoy playing those killers. The rest I just click by and wait for survivor ones

  • Personally I prefer cosmetics, killer weapons and charms for twitch drops. I don’t care for banners or player cards at all but awesome for those who do.

  • Yes it’s way worse. Not only am I rubber banding and stuttering anytime I run through a door or pallet but now I’m legit teleporting across the map.

One match I was in the school basement gen on Badham. Killer was coming so I ran up the stairs and out the door and suddenly I was teleported all the way back downstairs next to the gen.

Another match on coal tower I was in the upstairs tower Gen. I jumped down, ran halfway across the map and got teleported all the way back up to the gen. I’ve never had issues this bad before. Makes running the killer impossible because I keep getting teleported back right in front of the killer.

Also getting DCed in matches after horrible teleporting only for it to say I lost my internet connection but my connection is fine and no other computers in my house were disconnected. Of course I’m getting DC penalties too. I will not be playing the new modifier or anniversary event if these issues aren’t fixed by then.

  • No. It’s literally deliverance but weaker because it only works in basement.

People gotta stop asking for nerfs on perks just because you’re annoyed by them.

  • The only time I saw killers complaining about survivors DCing was when we didn’t have bots and DCs kept them from getting their adepts and achievements. A lot of them tried to pretend they actually cared because of the teammates but really it was that. Once bots came in and killers could still get their 4Ks and stuff I stopped seeing it.

please check some high level gameplay, especially tournaments, and see how slugging a person with DS doesn't create nearly as much pressure as you think it does

we’re not talking about tournaments. We’re talking about normal gameplay in which the vast majority of matches don’t go the way you guys are describing. Youre all describing high level, coordinated SWFs who are running very specific builds all together which only happens in the top MMR games, according to BHVRs own stats.

In the low and mid tier games survivors aren’t going into matches to play like this and especially not at solo Q levels. It really seems like killer mains are taking that 1-2 matches where they got destroyed by survivors running DS, OTR, BU, FTP and using that to argue this “weaponizing DS” theory.

Even so, the OP is correct. Survivors do not want to be slugged so if you slug then even IF they have unbreakable (which they can only use once) it takes time to recover. It’s not an instant stand up. If you slug the person who may be running DS, you still have 2 survivors occupied and if they need another teammate to pick them up, that’s 3 survivors occupied which is a win for the killer.

For the “but I’m trying to play nice and not tunnel” crowd. Thats admirable BUT (and I say this as a survivor who hates all the constant tunneling) if you’ve got a survivor who is throwing themselves in your face, body blocking and trying to get you to eat their DS: tunnel them out. It’s one thing to tunnel someone off hook at 5 gens who isn’t in your face. It’s quite another to tunnel someone who is clearly going out of their way to get your attention on them. They want your attention so give it to them!

  • I usually die to scratch mirror Myers more than I survive but I honestly don’t care. Scratch mirror games are so fun because they’re legitimately scary. 🤣🤣

I love the rush of the constant jump scares, not knowing where the killer is and the anxiety of trying to get the gens done while always having to look over my shoulders. Makes the game legitimately scary. On top of that, I love a scratch mirror Myers who memes actual Myers by staring you down before downing you etc.

I’ve had some scratch mirror Myers play toxic and tunnelly but those are so few and far between. I’m honestly fine dying to SM Myers because they make the match fun and scary for me.

  • As a survivor, if the killer opens the gates I’m leaving instantly. May work depending on the team but if it’s me and my SWF, we tell everyone to leave to ensure the killer only gets the 1K from the hook.
