I'm sorry, but from what I've experienced so far, a single second of disconnection to the servers, kicks us out of the entire game, with no hope of getting back in. You guys are the reason why players are not able to play the game out after a brief disconnect which happens to us all, and then you punish us. That's a very poorly made system, and it's going to lose you players. My little sister has to eat the penalty too, and we just want to play together. How have no devs seen this issue? If I dc for 1-5 seconds and reconnect, the game is probably still winnable. If I dc for 1 second and you kick me out, it's GG for my teammates. What's going on? This is actually so bad. If you area afraid of cheats, get an anti-cheat system up and running. You probably already have one.
They have Easy Anti Cheat but it’s absolutely garbage. Cheaters bypass it super easily and it mostly punishes non-cheaters with random system errors.

What are your main gripes for this event? It seems like neither side is having fun or even attempting to have fun. Everyone seems to be complaining about anything and everything and frankly, I don't get. So what seems to be the issues everyone's having?
Killer insta hooks ability making the wiggle mechanic and hook saves irrelevant or impossible.
Killers coming into what should be a fun event to tunnel people out at 5 gens, BM on hook and play like it’s a comp tournament.
Survivors getting insta heal/exposed tryk (tho this is random RNG generated so doesn’t always happen)
Survivors getting quiet mode ability.
In my personal matches, I keep getting survivors instantly DCing and or giving up on first hook against killers who are playing fair or even being chill and friendly.
-
Yeah it’s constantly 150 for survivor and 50 for killer on my end but I’m not surprised. The event abilities for killer coupled with everyone tunneling, camping slugging leaves little incentive to play survivor. Last years anniversary event I was playing hours every day. For this one I play a couple matches a day and switch games because it’s just not fun. I’ve gotten excessive tunneling every match so it’s not even worth my time to play even within the cobblers for a 3 minute match.
Also the insta heal exposed thing survivors get is busted in theory, but you’re still an insta down even if you are healed, you’re just not an injured insta down. It’s only if you can get lucky enough to avoid the killer until the timer runs out.
-
If distortion is this huge of an issue when it only has 3 tokens and has to be recharged by being near the killer, that tells me that you run full aura builds to hand hold you. It’s your choice to run a full build with the intention of constantly seeing where every survivor is and running straight to them. It’s fair to have a strong perk to counter that. Also half of killer perks are not all aura perks, let’s chill with the hyperbole please.

Just read the killer thread. They are loving that you are upset.
I wish more of us understood that there are literally huge subsections of people in the gaming community who literally get serotonin and dopamine hits off of being jerks and upsetting other people. Even moreso, they’re proud of that. Nothing you can do about people like that but cut off their dopamine supply. Stop reacting and giving them what they want.
-
you guys keep bringing up this “but survivors have 16 perks!” nonsense and really let’s stop. Survivors only have 16 perks if 1. They’re in a coordinated SWF and 2. They all agree to bring different perks with no repeats. That does not happen in every SWF whatsoever. Lots of matches are solo survivors who don’t know what perks their teammate has, doesn’t know how they will use their perks, cannot tell who has repeat perks and cannot coordinate with their team to make them synergize. Every team is not a 4 man SWF the way some of you love to think it is.
-
They’re not “whacky” things they totally unbalanced things, is the point people are making. And it’s a requirement of the event to interact with them in order to max out your BP as much as possible.
Telling people to go play normal mode if they don’t want to play in an unbalanced match, that ultimately grants higher rewards, in a game that people LOVE to complain needs better balanced is disingenuous at best, hypocritical at worst.
Again this isn’t just some random unbalanced game mode that is just a different version of the game, and doesn’t grant you any extra rewards. It’s the yearly anniversary event, and it’s the FIRST TIME they’ve ever run the anniversary event as a separate game mode.
But thanks for your response. I disagree but I appreciate you engaging.

Grabbing invitiations, interacting with event totems and chests from the Tryk's, and using event abilities grants extra BP outside of what you normally earn in a match.
I've personally gotten a score on the scoreboard of 90K (on survivor) playing the event.
I think too many people are taking the event way more seriously than they need to.
Exactly. I’ve had matches where my base points on the endgame screen are 130-140K because of all the event interactions with the totems, chests, and other tryks.

I will let go on that situation and let you have hatch. No-one should expect save in that sitiation. I think in your situation killer wanted to kill you because he hadn't hooked you yet but I think teaming is wrong way to do that. I think for survivor to do that it might be agains't rules.
But it falls bit on grey area because sometimes survivor can think killer is farming and it's only happens at the very end of the match in 2vs1. So it can be tricky to say. Also sometimes killers just want to let specific survivor to escape too.
It is against the rules to help the killer and I reported the player for that. But yes there’s no way for sure to know what the killer wanted or was doing so I used my best judgment.
-
@Bafugaboo said:
I see the killer only players are going to come after you.
And what’s funny is I’m not just talking about killer abilities. But hit dogs love to holler. 🤣
-
See and in my situation, the person on hook was now death hook and without a medkit. If I had run out and hook traded one of two things happens:
-I hook trade, the injured death hook survivor runs off and waits out hatch because they’re not coming for a save on me as a one shot with a proxy camping killer.
-I hook trade, killer downs me and then chases down the person off hook to slug for the 4K anyway.
So no matter what, had I gone for the unhook I was sacrificing myself for someone who would not have done the same for me once I got them off hook. But because I didn’t, the killer (who let’s be honest was just mad that I wasn’t taking the bait and was gonna make them 1v1 for hatch) decided to capitalize off of a petty teammate, to get me out of the game. 🤣🤣🤣 So honestly, I wouldn’t have done anything different.

Yup. I will not be playing any version of DBD that has in game coms. I don’t need to experience how disgustingly bigoted so much of the playerbase, and gaming is, in general. That’s why I don’t play COD or other games with voice chat.

Well good thing then that MMR doesn't exist and has basically zero actual factor on game balance
MMR does exist. Just because they’re not transparent about it and we don’t know the details of it, doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. This is an illogical fallacy to claim that something doesn’t exist just so that your point can’t be refuted with it.

Snowmen didn’t protect survivors last year. When we got hit in snowmen, that counted as a hit. There was no free protection hit.

I don't play during the day. We put the kids to bed and then play starting at 9 or 10 pm. No joke, 4ks every single match. Tunneling, slugging, humping killers, who then instantly talk ######### in the end game chat. It's kinda funny at first until it's just sad.
I have been playing since 2016, and it has never been this bad. It turned to this a week ago. At first everyone was saying it's because of the sabo...what Sabo? No one is Saboing, and in the event it's not even possible anyway, yet killers are playing the same way. The game is going down hill fast. I plan on playing civilization soon. :(
I haven’t seen any of these full sabo squads either with the toolbox changes but unfortunately that doesn’t matter. Anytime a change gets made (usually on the survivor side that’s a buff) killers get upset and say “Well now we’re gonna face this this and this so now I’m gonna have to play like this!” The problem is, they don’t actually end up facing it a lot of the time. They’re just so hyped up with the “idea” or belief that they’re gonna face that style of gameplay that they go into the match expecting and reacting to it, even when it hasn’t happened. I’ve noticed this the last few patches where the survivors have gotten some sort of buff but it also happens when killers get nerfs too.
-
I don’t have pics but right now I’m currently running blast mine, red herring, bardic inspiration and either quick and quiet or just a good exhaustion perk.
I get the blast mine, plant it in the gen then hop in a locker near the gen to trigger red herring. Killer comes to gen, kicks it and gets the stun/blind while I hop out of locker and bust out the lute. When the blind duration ends, they come out of it to see me serenading them. 🤣🤣🤣
The meme-y, slow turn stare downs with the killer when I do that are so funny. 😂 Some killers give me nodders, some down me and hook me. Either way, it was fun.

So, considering i`ve been doing this nice aniversary 3 i should have asked this earlier, but only now have i been called a smurf (whatever that means), a dirty farmer and a few less nice things. my take on events is when i play killer i go for my challange, i hook everybody twice (if no killing is required in my challange), then i either wait for the last gen and open gate or do some chasing just for points.
anybody having a problem with that? serios question, i`ll stop if that pisses people of.
I think you’re playing very nice and allowing survivors to maximize their BP before you kill them, if you do. Thats more than fair and personally that’s all I ask for as survivor. If you want your 4K, go for it. Thanks for letting me play the match and get some points before you kill me. 🥰

Overall I'd say killer got the stronger stuff but Quiet Mode is incredibly strong and the team-wide heal makes slugging super risky.
I don’t see the insta heal as very helpful when it exposes you, so you’re still a one shot, just not an injured one shot. Still super risky

I just wish killers could see this. Zero kills, I think all 2 hooks except one. 247k. It was a loss but I actually got my Spirit hit achievement completed as well. I love these events for just that. Get a lot of BP and work on achievements
This is how I play on survivor side with my friends. We just wanna max out our points and then we always give the killer all their hooks and the kills if they want. I’m not concerned with escaping every match for this event, I want the BP to level up my mains.
-
If this was intentional all this does is turn all killers into face camping tombstone Myers, and that’s not good at all.
-
I finally got a response from support and they simply apologized and gave me a banner code. No back and forth or anything just gave it to me. I’m impressed with how my agent handled it and give them props.

This mindset is exactly why killers play like it's comp. Survivors ignore the event stuff, which means that they outpace the killer, so they ignore the event stuff to keep pace with the survivors, so they ignore the event stuff, so they can keep up with the killer. The order doesn't matter. What's important is that it's a cycle.
Both sides create their own worst enemies and this mindset is the reason why.
Survivors don’t ignore the event stuff. We come in wanting to check all of it out and have fun but when our first matches are a hard tunneling, BMing killer trying to end the match in 5 minutes the mindset is “Okay I guess I have to sweat to earn any BP and not waste my cakes.” I also have no doubt that some killers go into matches wanting to play chill and mess around with survivors but then they get hit with that 4 man gen rush squad that just had the tunneling killer, so they get stomped and then think “Welp guess I have to tunnel, slug and sweat to get anything.” It’s a toxic circle that gets started and then continues to play out, mostly due to the toxic people who are excited to join the event just to BM and ruin the fun for the other side because that’s “fun” for them, and they begin this cycle. We all know a lot of the playerbase that doesn’t play consistently always come out for events just to play like it’s a comp tournament and then crawl back into the shadows when it’s over.
I played SWF for 5 hours yesterday and we got one chill killer. By chill, I mean a killer that spread hooks, let everyone maximize their BP and then killed all of us. See, we don’t actually need to escape to have fun, we just wanna have some chases, meme a bit then we are happy to give the killer their 4K, their achievements, whatever they want. You would think more people would be willing to play this way at least just for the event, but unfortunately that’s not the case.

Imagine denying yourself and your three teammates bonus points just to deny the one killer player bonus points for no reason except spite.

There was literally someone on these forums during the chaos modifier complaining about it because they said their chosen playstyle was to 4 man slug and bleed everyone out because that was “fun” for them, and for some reason they didn’t feel they could play that way in the modifier.
Slugging has its place in normal gameplay for pressure, countering sabo and to try and secure kills. Slugging and bleeding the entire lobby out for “fun” is not legit and just used to grief & ruin the game for people . There does need to be a way to bypass this kind of gameplay while leaving the ability slug in legit situations.
-
This was honestly one of the stupidest abilities they could have put in this event. Dont get me wrong, I love the event but putting in the ability to totally bypass the wiggle mechanic for the entire event was bad enough. Now the bug for that ability is literally game breaking. I posted earlier a clip where someone who did a flashlight save got teleported to a hook and killed. Someone else said pallet stunning the killer also teleported them to a hook.
-
Gen. rush is usually a response to tunneling, and then tunneling responds to genrush, and then Gen rush responds to tunneling because that’s the only way to counter it. It’s a cycle

Yes 30K is cool EXCEPT when you see the killer with a 30-40K BASE meaning you’re walking out with 30K total and they’re walking with over 200K.
So? Why do you care what other people get?
Why would you limit your own BP in an effort to spite other people? It's extremely petty. You're hurting yourself, and the person you're trying to spite doesn't care.
Killer will always earn more BP. If you want that BP, play killer yourself. Play killer, in a fair way, and allow survivors to score. Be the example.

I 2-hook everyone, then depending on how they play, decide how many to let go. Always one, sometimes 3. (Not that I always get a choice in the matter) Strangely the most irritating survivor ends up being the one that didn't bring a cobbler nearly every time.
You don't (usually) have control over how the killer plays or if they tunnel you.
You do have control over boosting your own BP score with an offering.
I’m not limiting anything I bring the BP offerings. I’m simply saying that I understand why others don’t do it when killers play that way. If they want to hoard their offerings and not use them why do you or anyone else care? If they want to limit their own BP why does anyone else care? The question goes both ways.
Once again I’m simply saying I can understand why they feel their offering is going to be out to waste if they bring it into a match where they get tunneled out instantly with only 6K BP. Especially for an event that’s happening right in rank re-sweat day. The offerings Re t going anywhere and maybe they wanna use them when they feel better about it, despite what others feel is most efficient? All I’m saying is I can understand their feelings even if I’m not going to do the same.

So play killer then.
You're just trying to create a problem from where non-exists.
I’m not creating anything. If you actually read my post you’d see I said I’m not advocating for not bringing offerings but I’m also not gonna pretend like I don’t understand why people take issue with being tunneled out of a match where they brought an offerings either.
Also maybe killers should get over their entitlement of thinking that people owe them their BP offerings. If they want to bring it they can and if they don’t, get over it.

6K with full bonus turns out to be around 30k, which is enough to earn you 2-3 additional cakes.
Do you understand how that's exponential growth?
Then there's the games where you all get 30k, with bonuses bringing it up to 150k+, netting you another 10+ cakes.
Yes 30K is cool EXCEPT when you see the killer with a 30-40K BASE meaning you’re walking out with 30K total and they’re walking with over 200K. You talk about exponential growth? How many cakes would that 200K buy? Thats the issue they’re referring to and what’s upsetting people. People are trying to maximize during this event and walking out with a normal BP haul during an event with 5 BP offerings is demoralizing.
I’m not advocating not bringing cakes but please don’t be disingenuous like you don’t see the issue they have. It’s clearly upsetting to go into a match with 5 BP offerings and be tunneled or camped out and see that you’re only walking with that 30K while you know the killer is in 6 figure digits after they just ruined the game for you. -
@Peanits said:
Sorry to hear you aren't enjoying the event so far. Is there something in particular that people are doing that is ruining it for you?
Just my two cents, giving the killer the power to teleport someone to a hook totally negates the entire wiggle mechanic for the entire event. Not sure why anyone thought that was a good idea but that’s my only complaint.

Only the Obsrssion can see the killers aura every 30 seconds, however any instance of the killer revealing your aura will reveal the killers aura.
Only the Obsession can keep tabs on the killer but any Object user can call out Lethal/Bloodwarden etc.
Thank you for clarifying this! I appreciate you.

I agree & disagree.
On 1 hand it sucks for the smaller non-Fog Whisperer streamers, I agree there.
On the other hand, you're a small streamer who nobody/vast majority of the community doesn't know or has even heard of, you want drops enabled for more viewership (which benefits you, the streamer more than any other party) & you don't really have to do anything in return besides stream the game. Just b/c you stream the game doesn't entitle you to drops. If that were the case, a lot of people would be mad about this, not just in DBD but many other games. This isn't anything new. The cold hard truth is that those channels don't really offer or benefit BHVR in any way. A few people checking a streamer out is nothing in comparison to the thousands+ that come to the other bigger channels.
If this were the reason, they would always make all twitch drops thru Fog Whsiperers only. But that’s not the case. They’re only doing it for PRIDE items and something feels gross about that NGL.

Wow, that's an amazing idea, friend. You can run this in SWF, sometimes it's better to not be the Obsession the perk still works anyway if your aura is revealed you just don't get the 30 second aura intervals
Now,how to convince my friends to swap Distortion for Object xD
Object of obsession does not work for you if you’re not the obsession. We can’t have 4 obsessions in one match at the same time remember.
If everyone in your SWF runs the perk only one of you will actually benefit at a time. Meaning the rest of you are still visible to the killer but you can’t see them.
-
Honestly I’m already expecting it and I keep getting 5-6 matches in a row with killers running this combo. I also take into account that the anniversary starts ON rank reset day so the first few days of the event are going to be frustrating to play, and I honestly may just hold off a few days.
Having said that, here’s my take: Run Object of obsession, plunderers instinct and appraisal. Take an item into the match and be a loot goblin. The more items you place around the map, the more aura reading you have, especially at loop points. Yes the killer can infinitely see you, but you can also see them. Obviously you cannot run a full SWF with this build as only one of you can be the obsession, but if you’re playing solo, give yourself the edge if you can, especially if you’re not a strong looper.
Whats good for the goose…
-
Bro I hate to disagree but everyone else is correct. It’s a live service game and changes are going to be made after release for balancing.
Honestly I do empathize because I did say that I was tired of buying DLC for survivor perks and then having those perks nerfed into the ground. Guess what I did?
I decided that I had the option to not buy new DLCs on release. We can wait until after release to see how the new perks work, see what changes BHVR decides to make and then buy it later once we decide if the changed perks are worth our money. Are you gonna have some FOMO? Probably but that’s the trade off if you feel like your money is being unfairly taken. Wait it out.
With the exception of Sable there are no other survivor characters that I play out of the last 5-6 chapters. I don’t play Vittorio, Thalita, Renato, Gabriel, Ripley, and I don’t run their perks because they either got nerfed into the ground (Gabriel) or I don’t find them worth running. But I bought those DLCs so basically those were a waste of my money in the long run. This is why I’ve begun to wait it out.

I don’t know what MMR you think you’re playing at but I’m mid level and I have yet to see any lobbies full of toolboxes or sabo squads and me and my friends certainly aren’t running them. We’ve all been running the bard perk to do full on meme matches every time. 🤣🤣
I was actually telling someone that I’m surprised I haven’t been seeing hardly any toolboxes since the buff and if I do, they’re being used on gens, not sabos.
Once again I think this his simply a case of freak out propaganda. Everyone saw the patch notes, starting screaming about the toolboxes and now everyone is taking this combo because they’re being told HERE COME THE SABO BULLY SQUADS GETS READY!” rather than them actually facing any of these so-called sabo bully squads.

I’d say I’ve gotten Vecna in about 95 percent of my matches the first two days and now I’m down to about 60 percent of my matches.

I made sure to mention that I'm seeing other players claim they're getting codes from Support and if they can please clarify for me exactly why I apparently don't qualify for one.
Another reason they need to stop the newsletter codes. Some people are getting them from their agent but others aren’t?
