  • dredge should not be in this mode. They scrapped Freddy from it because of how his power affected the light/darkness and Dredge should have been given the same treatment.

They gave 60secs of Endurance to survivors?

    32ms of anti-camp range?

    20% repair speed?????????

How is this fun for anyone???

Guess I'm not touching this ish. Good luck in lobby simulator guys. I advise killer players not to touch this crappy game mode. Idk what happened last Lights Out to warrant THESE kind of changes but holy heck I'm not touching this crap.

I actually enjoyed Lights Out last time but now... Nope.

Last time it was completely killer sided where survivors had zero counter play. Only thing they could do was sit on gens and be caught.

  • this has been going on for months now with zero acknowledgement from the devs that they’re aware of, and/or trying to fix the issue. Guess this is just part of the game now to have your time wasted every few matches.

The only killers that are running full gen regression are nurses possibly blights and people doing it for fun. Nothing beats 2-3 slowdowns depending on the killer.

Not true. In the last 3 days I’ve seriously have 18 matches where the killers ran 3 aura and Iron Maiden so people couldn’t hide in lockers

No shot they are 4-keing with 0 gen regression against decent survivor players. The gens will fly out of control.

Yes they are. I’ve faced this exact loadout literally 18 times in the last 3 days.

  • I’ve said this repeatedly. Now killers are already running 3 aura perks with Iron Maiden so you can’t even use a locker to counter it. With distortion going into the trash, it’s only gonna get worse now.

Maybe I'm going crazy but I feel like I'm seeing a lot more P100's now. Almost one in every match with most of them being Fengs. So many Fengs…It's horrible.

you likely are since people can play them now without fear of being tunneled or targeted .

  • it doesn’t need a nerf just because you had a bad match.

  • I’ve noticed a difference for sure. I can now play my P100 characters with ease because I no longer get targeted, tunneled out instantly with the killer in end game chat going “Had to prove I could take out a P100!” because they still think P100s=Super skilled, toxic SWF gamers.

I’m having more fun playing my mains now so I love it. I also have gotten dodged hardly ever now.

  • I’ll never get tired of the “I went against this in my game and I didn’t like it so it needs removed from the game” posts. 🤣🤣🤣

  • They also destroyed Haddonfield by making it smaller, removing buildings and creating dead zones with garbage pallets that can’t be used for anything. Even after the horrible feedback they pushed it live anyway.

  • @tippy2k2 said:

Since you can use BP you gained using any character on a different character, I don't think it means a single thing.

I hate The Nurse but I could P100 her without ever having to play her again.

Exactly. A P100 killer is not an indicator of skill the same as survivor. I’ve literally played my lower prestige survivors and dumped all that BP into my survivor I wanted to P100. I did this because the higher prestige I got, the more I got targeted and tunneled for being the highest prestige survivor in my lobby. So the only way to get my P100 was to play the low prestige characters to get my BP.

  • There’s no reason why you absolutely MUST show off your prestige in pre game lobby other than for your own ego, which is silly anyway because no one else cares. The game is now mic healthier waiting until endgame. I can see my own prestige in my own lobby before I get to the killer lobby and I can see it at the end. This has zero effect on how I feel about my achievements. In fact, I’ve actually began playing my P100 characters again now that I can do so without being targeted and tunneled out of the match.

This new system helps the overall health of the game way more. It’s also not hurting you in any way to let people see your prestige at the end. If they all leave the lobby without ever looking at your prestige, so what? Why do you need people to care so much that you have a P100?

  • Not for me I love it! I can finally play my other P100 characters now that I worked so hard for, without being targeted, tunneled and lobby dodged.

I can see my prestige in endgame screen and I see it in my own lobby before I get in the pre game lobby with the killer.

So yeah I’m good and super happy with this change. I’m putting BP into my next P100 that I’m working on now.

  • None. I really don’t want DBD to become Fortnite. That will be the day I quit playing.

  • Agree with all this

Anti-facecamp was a waste of time. For one thing face camping was pretty rare, and more people complained about proxy camping than face camping because proxy camping is the more efficient play. If they devs really wanted to “hurt” face camping, they should have considerably raised repair speeds when the killer was within X meters of a hooked survivor because guess what? If a killer is face camping a hooked survivor and they unhook themselves, what will the killer do next? If you guessed down them 8 seconds later you’d be right. And this brings me to your final point: Anti-tunneling as in the baseline BT? Doesn’t work. Killers tunnel through the 8 seconds. Easily.

Anti-3 gen actually works better for killers due to the regression event change they made on PTB. I’ve never gotten to maximum allowable regression events (#########? Who does?) and have never seen any other killer—including those holding 3-gens—do so either. What I have seen are the basekit buffs to damage-based gen regression this system has brought used quite efficiently. Ironically that’s no where in your comment.

I already explained to that person why BT never stopped tunneling off hook with the fact that the killers body block and wait out your BT to hit. They just tried to claim that we could run to a good loop spot or a pallet to solve that. 🤣

I totally agree that there should be some sort of mechanic that stops the whole "survivors hiding and not doing gens" scenario but I always hate when people use anti-tunnel as an argument for basically anything.

People always seem to forget that before basekit BT, killers could fairly reliably re-down survivors before they even regained control of their character. It's an absolute no brainer that never should have been a thing and bringing it up as an argument feels off base at best

This is exactly what I said. Most of us remember when you got insta downed off hook while still in the unhook animation, effectively taking away any chance for you to play the match.

The survivors didn't hold anything hostage, they had literally nothing to do with no objective. The problem isn't survivors needing to be punished for not just allowing the killer to kill them, they need to find a way to make survivors able to win. Genuinely there was no point, hard camping a 4 gen as spirit on midwich left the final two with no options but to hide and hope the other died it all boils down to "These survivors should've let me kill them!"

That’s exactly what this post boils down to. Which is why all of the suggestions in here boil down to revealing the survivors to the killers so they can easily find and kill them both. Survivors won’t just come out and give me my 4K? Show me where they are so I can easily go get them.

The match is already a draw or won by Killers in a 2v1. This just ends the match in a timely manner. One of the Survivors can still juice on one side of the map while the other Surv opens the gate on the other, for them both to escape. Heck, it is even more possible if people quit on hook, because there would be more pallets to use. I mean it isn't like I gave the Killer instadowns too.

doesn’t matter. You’d still be calling the match at a 2v1, which gives survivors even less incentive to commit to playing out the matches. There’s already an epidemic of people giving up on hooks in matches they feel are lost only a few minutes in. I doubt the devs wanna make that problem worse.

  • @mizark3 said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/423834/we-kinda-need-a-anti-stall-mechanic-for-survivors

I think a Killer forced Endgame could be good. If you just want to end the game (with only 1 or 2 Survs left) go to an exit gate with gens remaining and 'open' the gate to instead power the gates and start endgame collapse. The gates take 4 extra seconds per gen remaining (for max 20→40 total), but NWO doesn't function. This puts the Survivors on a timer to either open the gate, or hide and die together. This also can be used with 1 Surv left, so that way you can get the extended gate timer if you risk giving the Survivor more time to find the Hatch.

The Killer would get a Rancor genpop style info on the Survivor locations when starting the EGC, AFK crows progress at double speed, and the Survivors get 4x recovery speed and can pick themselves up, but they die on hook immediately (regardless of hook state). The point is to just get someone hooked and dead, and have Hatch or Gate be available to end the match ASAP.

Now there are some flaws like Twins downing with Victor, but these edge cases can be smoothed out once we at least have a system in place (like a Victor down halves recovery speed during this forced EGC).

This is not viable and only benefits killers. Pretty sure the devs would call this suggestion totally unbalanced.

  • @VantablackPharaoh91 said:

It definitely needs to be addressed, as does slugging for a 4k. Nobody likes having their time wasted. The culprits are hatch, hiding, and the game only rearding 4ks.

Why not just make it so either the hatch spawns (locked, you need a key to open it so you either must do gens or find a key if you want an out this way) with two players left if not all gens are complete, and then have it close after that person (it can be unlocked again though).

To address slugging for 4k, autosacrifice someone left on the ground this way the second the other person is hooked, or make the bleedout timer 2 minutes. We can stand endgame collapse being 2 minutes, I'm sure nobody will be upset about bleeding out taking 2 minutes either. Make the game based on hookstages and not sacrifices, a 3k should be worth the same as a 4k. A 2k is still a good enough effort against a strong team and it's time to reward people for TAKING that challenge and having a fair tie, both parties need to walk out with something. You can still base MMR on actual kills, but people could then pip by being less than amazing, unlike what the game currently demands from the stifling "only kills/escapes matter and pip you" system we have now.

For hiders? Permanent crows or intermittent aura reveal/noise notifs for lockers after 25 seconds not interacting with gens. You can't be rid of them. You can't hide from it. If aura hiding is a concern, Killer Instinct for free on every Killer when Survs do this. This counts for slugs, too.

hatch used to spawn early but locked but they removed that from the game. The solution was already there 🤣

This only happens when a) teammate did an UNSAFE rescue and b) you didnt manage to get to a strong loop in the meantime.

And funny how you ignore the other part of my post where i asked you what argument is there against a mechanic for killers when people are only hiding and not doing gens.

It happens when killers proxy camp hook as they all do now that the anti camp mechanic is in place. Also your suggestion does nothing against high mobility and especially range killers. Killers are faster than the survivor by design. Youre acting like what im saying is rare when I bet if you ask actual survivor players they will tell you how often this happens. No matter what you cannot reasonably deny that basekit BT does not combat tunneling because it doesn’t. I’d suggest you try playing more survivor to see how often killers simply chase down people off hook and wait out their BT. People on this forum are still championing tunneling one person out at 5 gens as their wining strategy. If basket BT was the savior you’re acting like it is, that wouldn’t be a viable strategy, yet it is.

Also the argument against your mechanic is that your only options for doing that are to demand that survivors basically go out and die if they’re in a 2v1. Let’s say that even one survivor just says “okay fine I’ll just go out and die so my teammate can have a chance at hatch” that doesn’t matter for killers who love to slug for the 4K which is very common. It’s not reasonable to expect 2 survivors left to go out and sit on gens that are easily patrolled by a killer, because they have no other options.

It gives you a speed boost when you are hit, you have more than enough time to reach a pallet or a loop with vaults.

re-read what I said again. There is no speed boost because the killer doesn’t hit me straight off hook. They let you run and keep pace with you, sometimes body blocking you until your BT runs out. Then when they hit you’re just down. You don’t get the endurance speed boost when they do this. This is how the killers are countering off hook BT to continue to tunnel off hook.

  • @Jim_Tonic said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3780128#Comment_3780128

You dont know what anti tunnel is? Have you never noticed that short immunity timer giving you the time you need to get away? We only had borrowed time for this before the mechanic. And people didnt say "oh just use BT" no. We have a mechanic now.

Not 3-genning yourself was a task that was SKILLFULL for the survivor team to do, spreading gens and not doing them on only 1 side of the map is anyway by far the better way to pressure the killer, there was no perk for this but also this technique was not really rocket science either. Still we have a mechanic for it.

Hook grabs have been removed aswell btw, when it was the easyest thing to just let go right at the hit and then unhook while the killer does their cleaning weapon animation. Hook trades used to be what they are called, TRADES. Now i can convieniently know i will get my buddy from hook and will have enough time to get away still, while as a killer you need them injured in order to profit off of UNSAFE rescues.

And you know what everyone used to do when people were hard or proxy camping without the anti facecamp mechanic? → Gens. Rush them, the killer is not chasing anyone. If they just sit around on the same spot not doing anything but camping their oh so precious 1k then its litteraly so easy to just rush gens and get out the door.

BT basekit literally does nothing to combat tunneling. Guess what? The killer is faster than me so what does that mean? I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had a killer come back to hook, chase me down/body block me and wait for my BT timer to run out and then hit me and down me. I still got tunneled it just took the killer waiting out my timer while keeping chase with me the whole time to do so.

  • @Reinami said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/422814/remove-flashbang-background-player-already

The problem is not this perk combination, it is a bug that has been in the game for several patches now.

Previously, as a killer, if you picked up a survivor and faced a wall, you would be fine. However, there is a bug right now that causes other survivors to not have collision with the killer when they pick up a survivor. This means that a survivor can run INSIDE the killer and drop the flashbang, making it so even if you are facing the wall, it still goes off and blinds you.

This also has an impact at pallets to prevent saves. There are many cases for example where say, you pick up a survivor on one side of a pallet, body blocking a survivor from coming to the pallet for the save, forcing them to go around the front side and drop it, but if you know they are behind you, they won't have time.

If they fix this bug, it will not only fix the pallet save issue, but also properly "nerfs" this background player + flashbang combo, because you will once again be able to properly look at a wall to prevent yourself from getting blinded.

If it’s an in game bug then everyone should be reporting it and pressuring the devs to fix it. Instead asking for nerfs to a perk and an item to counter a bug is ridiculous. Then what happens when they finally fix the bug? You have nerfs to stuff that didn’t need it? Thats silly.

by that logic, why do we have anti 3-gen, anti facecamp and anti tunneling mechanics?

BT, OTR, DS, BnP and toolboxes, various genrush perks and even a perk that stops the sacrifice timer (forgot the name, its from rebecca).. Tools are there, but people didnt want to use it and demanded solutions by the devs, then these solutions get introduced. But when something on the killer side is unfair, we have to adapt and dont get any mechanic to hold our hands.

3 gens were holding matches hostage for 45 minutes to an hour until survivors either gave up or just DCed. BT was because every killer was going back to hook to tunnel people out preventing them from being able to play the match. Anti camp was because killers were camping people to death to prevent them from being able to participate in the match. None of the perks you mentioned fully prevented/countered any of that (and still don’t) which is why you still don’t see people running them every match. DS still does not prevent tunneling and neither does OTR which is why they’re not META being used every single match.

Flashbang and BP are not preventing killers from being able to participate in the match, not to mention that tunneling camping and slugging are killer tactics that don’t require the killer to run any perks or add ons to be effective at. Killers literally have 3 useful tactics for free on top of running their 4 perks and two add-ons. Survivors do not have any such tactics that are free, don’t require perk slots to be run, and can completely prevent the killer from being able to play the match. That’s the difference.

Not necessarily. Survivors always have the option to run away in a different direction from the one who rescued them, thereby it is the survivors who force the situation, not the killer

Untrue. Do you know how many times I’ve tried to run FROM the killer after being unhooked and I either A. Accidentally got hit or B. The killer hit me anyway just to force my endurance hit?

I played this game before basekit BT and evey killer came right back to hook to instadown you after you got unhooked. The devs are not gonna remove this and increase tunneling again.

If the survivors decide to use their BT to take a protection hit for an unhooker then you as killer can simply take that as a sign they want your attention and go after them again instead of the unhooker. Easy peasy. Fair and square. Basekit BT doesn’t need removed.

    2. People stopped going for saves because killers began caging and then rushing to said cage to camp to either prevent saving/cause the cage to keep teleporting around the map to prevent the save, or “force hook trades”

wow. that is worse then original version of distortion before it got buffed in 6.1.0. I just expect them to revert the perk to only grants 3 tokens, No longer grants any token regeneration. Yeah that and limiting to 3 tokens will effectively kill the perk. No one is gonna run distortion and have the perk be made useless in 2 minutes against a full aura build.

A lot of people are asking for it not to regain tokens while in chase. While I don’t think messing with it at all is necessary, I wouldn’t have an issue with that. I still think nerfing it while not touching the countless aura reading perks themselves, is ridiculous tho.

  • @Laluzi said:

I'm concerned at the recent trend in map updates. There's a pattern where they're gravitating towards destroying strong resources and replacing them with very weak ones. Seems like every second story window has to have a drop right next to it, and we're getting loads of edge pallets that are so unsafe there's not only no way to run them, you can't even stun the killer with them because anyone with a brain will just walk around the side with absolutely no risk. Same with the new tiles they keep adding to generation, a good chunk of them are completely unusable and they come at the cost of a tile the survivor would have gotten value at.

Some loops are too strong and need to be removed, sure, I get why they removed double window house in Haddonfield and I agree… but survivors need actual resources they can play around.

All of this. Making maps smaller and more dead zones with useless pallets is all I see.

  • @Laluzi said:

Ehhh. I'd like to see these stats for myself, but I wouldn't like to see this for other players because I think any positive additions a performance report brings to the game would be drowned out by people grilling each other for being bad.

If DBD's occasional infodumps have taught us anything, it's that stats still aren't a good metric of what's actually happening in a match. Like, if I go down in chase in 8 seconds, my teammate might shittalk me for being a potato, but maybe I went down so fast because I was taking a hit for another player or diving for a hail mary unhook. If I used 10 pallets, but I had a 3-minute chase with those pallets, then I did great, but my teammates will kvetch that I used all the resources. Or maybe I don't have much repair time or unhooks because I spent a lot of that match running around while objectives were shifting and someone kept beating me to the unhook I was crossing the map for, or I was looking for a hex totem that was wrecking us. And killers are going to get slammed with all kinds of invectives now that there's mathematical proof that the killer tunneled or camped gens or whatever great evil they committed today.

I'm definitely curious, but I can't see this information being used for anything other than hurling accusations.

    All of this.

  • @Reinami said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3773403#Comment_3773403

    Its not coms, its simple.

You bring an item and you get hit, what do you see? Well you see that you dropped your item, and you get a speed boost. The range on weave is 12 meters. During that speed boost and killer wipe animation, how far do you get? You get 14.4 meters away. So now you are out of range of weave.

Now what happens? You get chased, maybe downed, maybe the killer breaks off. Now what? Well, when it is safe, you run back over to your item, which was probably nearby a gen at least a few short 5-10 seconds away from one. You pick up the item, you run to an edge of the map, you press R, and then you run to that nearby gen. Each survivor does this, and now the killer has 2 perk slots and you spent maybe an extra 10-15 seconds of your time doing it.

Now, what if your teammates are bad and aren't doing this? Well, that is fine too, because weave TELLS YOU when it is in play due to the oblivious status effect. It should be pretty obvious when you randomly get it, because no other thing causes oblivious like that. So now you know that within 12 meters of you (and you know the rough direction) there is an item. Again 12 meters is the distance of 2 lunges, that is extremely short. It should take you maybe 5 seconds to find the item, you walk up to it, pick it up, run to an edge, press R.

    Same thing.

Again it is nowhere near this simple, especially because you can’t know exactly where your survivor team dropped items. Also again, weave works thru floors so I could be in weave range and looking on the wrong floor and have no clue. And as I pointed out in my initial post, ALL of this is time away from gens or helping teammates. Throwing the match for this is not a counter.

I explained all this already. Your suggestion leads to throwing matches to go hunt down items to move them around the map, meanwhile being visible to the killer and being oblivious.

  • @Reinami said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3773298#Comment_3773298

The counter IS easy though, the perk tells you exactly when it is in effect. The survivor that dropped the item should know where it is because they got hit and dropped the item. It takes maybe 15 seconds to move the item to a corner and drop it, and then what happens? Now the killer has 2 perks instead of 4.

Would you rather they run 4 slowdowns instead? Because quite literally every single time some new perk combo comes out for killers, survivors complain until it disappears, and guess what? Back to 4 slowdowns it is, because every other killer perk is basically worthless.

You’re assuming we’re always going to have coms with every survivor to tell us where the item dropped. Even when you are the one who dropped it, if you’re in chase due to franklins, going back to it isn’t always that easy.

You seem to think every lobby is a coordinated SWF on coms and it isn’t. Solo Q exists

So you admit there IS counterplay in your perk you just don’t wanna use them. Thats on you.

I need people to realize that you’re not going to go into every single match being able to counter every situation. That’s why perk choice is a roll of the dice. You’re not meant to be able to counter every situation in every match. That doesn’t mean there is no counter. You just didn’t bring the thing to help you counter it.

You are 100% completely wrong. Distortion has been an insanely debated topic for months now. Otzdarva and several other content creators have made videos on it, myself included. I think it belongs in the game but its aura negation should be 5-6 seconds. As it would still counter every single aura reading perk but if the killer is also using Lethal Pursuer then they would get 1-2 second aura reads instead of zero.

I’m actually not wrong but go off. I’ve been in these forums a long time and no one started talking about distortion to this degree that we are now until recently, especially once weave franklins dropped. A few content creator videos do not equal a majority.

Youre welcome to your opinion but im also welcome to mine. Please remember opinions do not equal facts.
