So they can go play another game... clearly they arent enjoying DBD why should they get a free pass to ruin it for others?
Seriously games back on old old gen had more harsh bans and DCs didnt even matter as much in those but a 3v1 is garbage in DBD unlike a 3v4 in a team death match for example.
DC bans just reset too quickly and people are too selfish and entitled
Well as I said, that is exactly what they will do (go play something else) if bans are too long and then you end up having less players in the queues and everyone loses.
I am sure BHVR knows this and their hands are somewhat tied as far as how heavy handed they can be with DC penalties
-
I have to admit I have loaded into a map as killer, cursed my foul RNG luck and gone and made a coffee etc and left them to it.
These days I am more likely to just mess around and not care about the outcome and just try to get at least a few points out of it

Banning the DC players for intolerably long periods is the only way you're going to get people to stop.
A few hours or a couple days is clearly not enough.
This doesn't work.
You know what will happen if you make DC penalties too long? The obvious; people will not play and instead will queue up to play some other game. BHVR know this so they have to balance between making time outs long enough to be annoying but no so aggressive that people stop playing altogether. People who DC will still play full matches most of the time and removing them from the matchmaking pool for too long hurts the game more than DC's.
The reality is you cannot make people play matches they don't want to no matter what you do.

It’s not survivor sided anymore. It starts with a built in 3-Gen every time.
Not sure I would agree that alone makes it killer sided though.
-
It is very survivor sided but not impossible to win on but I get why people dislike it when playing killer.
I didn't like it for survivor either but it grew on me the more I played on it but I guess it would since it is definitely survivor sided.
-
They are great for practice but will never be a great substitute for real human opponents.
Overall though, they are quite impressive when they work well, particularly around pallets and windows.
Though I notice they tend to run to the edge of the map and play junk tiles, or they hide in lockers at the stupidest times and on the Preschool they are close to broken and get stuck constantly. So hopefully they will get a bit of fine tuning before going live

*Tinfoil hat time*
The devs are going to implement it exactly the way it was or with very little alterations. The only reason they're holding off is because they didn't want to impact Halloween and Christmas sales.
This is probably not far off the truth, as I suspect a form of monetisation is going to be different custom Moris as they cant keep adding killers/survivors/perks indefinitely as their business model. We are already at the point where there are just too many killers and perks on both sides as it is.
I am not against it and I hate being slugged for the 4k so anything that removes that boring tactic is great by me. They can always make adjustments as they go too
-
I am as above, I have played the PTB bots a lot since they came out and pretty much entirely to finally try killers I own but never played. Just to show how behind I am.... I FINALLY played Oni despite owning him since he came out lol (he is a lot of fun).
For me the bots are entirely for stress free practice/learning rather than suffering public matches. The bots do well but are probably not going to be that great for trying out weird builds etc, as they don't act like real human opponents in many situations. Still good enough to learn the basics of a killer though

One thing that comes to mind would be that you can outright tell the game 'don't put me in matches with killer X', and have it a limited number (like a max of 5 or such).
The other part of this is something that has come up before: the game needs to start punishing scummy behavior (and reward good one). The mechanics to do so are there, several perks and abilities use them already.
It would be a ton of finetuning, though
Yes I have suggested something like that - you can sit out x amount of matches with a certain killer.
You cant make people play matches they don't want to play, it doesn't matter if you penalise them or not they still wont do it. For example... I just had 4x Legions in a row and anyone would want to sit out Legion matches after that
-
Wraith, GF and Wesker are the main ones I have seen recently. Don't see Moris as much as I used to though

Because they are frustrating. The game itself is already damn frustrating to go against (to the point where it feels it's like that ON PURPOSE), so... dcing or hooksui is pretty much the only option available.
Yeah I agree but how to solve that?
I would wait longer in queue to NOT have to verse Pinhead, Trickster, Legion or Twins (I rarely see the latter though) but I understand they cant give players an option to not queue against certain killers, as we all know Nurses and Blights etc would never be able to play the game as most people would block them.
This is a problem as games are supposed to be fun but the way DBD works is you get put into matches that are not (subjectively) 'fun' for the individual and I don't know how you can make them want to play something they don't enjoy?

So you’re holding the power, it’s not canceling itself, and it won’t summon? Sizzling has the right of it. Too close to hooks or cooldown (bottom left of HUD).
I cant see any indication I am on a cooldown and not too close to hook as nobody on a hook and it is happening. I guess it must be cooldown though... Awkward killer to get used to either way but I do like her
-
Eventually I would say it will migrate over, at least if the game is still making money in the next few years and so far that seems likely.
-
@MeltingPenguins said:
OP, have you tried stopping to play clown/pinhead?
Lol... but in all seriousness, Pinhead or Trickster and Nurse seem to be almost guaranteed to have a team mate exit themselves first hook. Nurse match a few games back the second a team mate heard the first blink they DC'd lol
-
I will miss it, best one so far for me personally.
It also made me realise that even with extra BP the grind is still bad even if it is improved. Not looking forward to going back to the relatively pathetic amount of BP a typical solo match earns.
But either way, I enjoyed this event

You can right click to charge your power even when you’re not actually able to place any crows, either due to being too close to a hooked survivor (10m) or due to being on cooldown after firing crows.
The cooldown is 5 seconds after firing 1 crow, 9 seconds for 2 crows, 12 seconds for 3 crows, and 14 seconds for 4 crows (only possible w/ the Ink Egg addon).
Thank you this is very helpful information in general.
I will try again and see if I could still be on a cooldown and not realise it? I have 3 charges and have not fired off crows for a bit but still get this, so really not sure what is going on here...
-
STBFL for M1 killers and Lucky Break for survivor
-
I am really looking forward to them too, been playing the hell out of them on the PTB as I have so many killers I own but never even tried and finally feeling free to practice them is fantastic.
That being said, while the bots are sufficient they are no match for a human opponent and it does become a bit soulless and predictable against bots. I struggle with the toxicity and petty nastiness of that minority of the community but the double edged sword is that also gives games tension and unpredictability that bots cannot.
But I totally get this OP, the bots are a fantastic addition but I will still personally prefer live games
-
I wish we could opt to sit out lobbies of certain killers even for a few turns... honestly when I get the 5th Wesker in an hour I really lack the motivation to want to play that match. I know people DC for all kinds of stupid nonsense but the actual killer seems to be a big one from what I have seen.
I know for me not wanting to play against the killer is the biggest reason I want out of that match and while I think blocking permanently would obviously never work, if I could sit in a lobby longer just to not face the same killer again and again I would take the longer wait rather than be in a match I don't want to be in

Blight and Huntress as far easier to use and they have the same results if they go full tryhard mode same for Pinhead. And yet people likes to target the few ones that play Nurse. I'm not saying she doesn't need any change, but priorities..
I would totally disagree that Blight is easier to use, in my personal experience Blight is far harder to get similar wins out of than Nurse. Since they fixed her many bugs Nurse is far easier to pick up than ever before.
Huntress may be easier to pick up and play but I would not necessarily say she is easier to master either. Sure anyone can throw a hatchet at a survivor running in a straight line (much like Nurse can blink on a survivor doing the same) but dealing with her slow base speed and high loops etc makes Huntress difficult against good players. I hate Pinhead and have not played them so cant comment on that...
Nurse is by far the most broken killer in the game, this is patently obvious imo
@drsoontm said:
Funny thing, the bots of 4.6.0 aren't very good at all, but they are better than a lot of survivors against Nurse.
I can attest to this lol.
Though they do go for comp corner and get stuck on rocks with no DH to be seen, they are pretty decent at the hold W strat and do stuff normal players would not and I missed a few blinks on them that I really should not have (they dont hold tight lines etc).
-
@GannTM said:
Go play Artist for yourself and see how easy she is to master lol.
Yeah she is awkward as hell as far as I am concerned. I have been learning her lately and I found getting started on her really difficult and far from easy. She seems easy in theory but actually using her against survivors with brains and functioning eyes is pretty hard to master from what I can tell
-
Sally was my gal, she is my favourite killer and I spent many hundreds of hours learning her and suffered the humiliation any Nurse main knows we all go through at the start. My teacher was an absolute god with her and back before her nerf he taught me a lot of her ins and outs and I loved how strong she is.
My teacher no longer plays DBD (he lost interest after 5k hours) and when I last spoke to him about Nurse I was shocked to hear him outright state she is broken and needs a major nerf. But a year or two since then I have realised he was right... I love Nurse but she is broken as much as I hated to admit it.
How to fix her? I honestly don't know for sure. But we all know no game should have a character that can win 500 times in a row and that is a problem whether people want to admit it or not.

I do if I'm physically there, but I wouldn't give out my account info or anything. Do you mean you wouldn't give out your account info, or do you mean you wouldn't let someone play even if you were there?
Oh no if I was there it would be a different story but yeah I would not give out my credentials.
-
Hell no, never have and never would. That being said, I have 3 accounts and only really use 1 but even so... just no.
-
She could literally never catch a survivor pressing W lol
Nurse needs to be looked at but this is definitely not the solution

I feel your pain, I feel bad for the person that is slugged which is why I almost always hook them anyway - at my own expense. But that's bullshit. I played well, why should I be punished? People in this thread are talking as if I'm the one who is wasting peoples time. THE GAME is wasting your time, that's why I'M trying to change it.
In fairness, I understand it is not the killers fault, it is the hatch mechanic that forces the slug if the killer really wants the 4k. I have done it myself but these days I just cannot be bothered and would rather go next. Most of my hours are still as survivor though and I have always disliked the hatch mechanic for this reason.
I have started running Unbreakable for the meantime, as I am finding myself being slugged like this a lot more lately for some reason so I want to punish it.
-
For me it is a good but laggy Huntress, as I never know what hits latency will allow to connect or not lol
-
I have done but generally if the killer has a hook and the gates are open and there is only me left, I will leave as the best is I exchange their place and die instead. Not worth imo
-
"I'll find one, slug him so I can get the 4k"
I have zero sympathy when I read this... I have to admit I will hide out of pure spite at this point as you are just wasting everyone's time. Just hook and most times you will find the last survivor anyway. If you don't? Well at least you didn't waste several minutes of your life...
I hope they put in some variation of the end game changes they tested as the slugging for the 4k thing is just plain annoying
-
I had one about 2 days ago but generally it isn't that common, thankfully. So boring too, it was very original and funny the first 1000 times but now it feels like they are just wasting my time as we cant have a normal match against this playstyle

Good news! The harsher punishments are already being used.
Good, sooner the scummy players are purged the better. The toxicity in this game really can kill the fun at times
-
@Lamoore said:
Killers can't body block but survivors can?
A killer can hit a survivor twice and they are no longer blocked, survivors literally cannot block killers other than taking a single hit for an injured team mate. I have been held hostage in a corner by a killer and I did not want to DC so all I could do was go out and take my dog for a walk etc... That person should be banned but the penalties have been too soft.
I cant wait for harsher penalties to come, I am sick of people ruining the game for others and it has gone on far too long as it is. If people cant play like adults/normal human beings... they should be removed from the game.
-
Good. It can be abused and should be removed as killers are locked in animation and cannot do anything at all to prevent it. Nothing should give you immunity like that
-
I would not get too excited just yet but I suspect there will be a nerf at some point and as a former Nurse main myself I feel it is actually needed. Nurse is broken and no amount of excuses can really take away from that fact. I actually want her nerfed so I don't feel bad playing her as she believe it or not, she is actually my favourite killer.
But as she is, I just feel bad playing her and even though survivors can be little shits I still want everyone to actually have fun in matches. Clearly people hate Nurse and it ruins the enjoyment for me so I don't play her anymore
-
Just because she is strong doesn't mean the person playing her is actually good with her. Nurse is a lot easier since most of her bugs got fixed but to actually be really good with her is not as easy as people make out. At least not against survivors who are actually semi-decent.
Oh and there are always 'those' people who will play in this way no matter how much of an advantage they theoretically have
-
You must have had a rough time with them but honestly as a survivor I find them to be nothing but a meme and mostly a waste of a perk slot
-
Less accurate controls and lower FPS make it harder... they are the main reasons anyway
-
It would need a cooldown then and I personally don't want that as I find it to be a nice gen control perk that generally isn't too oppressive or annoying but still buys you a bit of time with modest regression
-
Hens and his team are all some the best players of the game in the entire world. Not really a typical team but it does show how difficult it is to deal with an extremely coordinated SWF.
-
Matchmaking has always been scuffed and it always will and I guarantee it is one of the reasons they got rid of ranking so you no longer have that to compare post game. The game will do its best to match you with people close to your skill level but it clearly will just throw you in with whoever if it can't find anyone close.
I prefer this system personally, it makes for faster matches and more randomness even if it may feel a bit rough for very new players.
-
He is a lot of fun when you get some decent snipes but not the easiest killer to destroy teams with. Survivors who are moderately aware can make it a bit rough, though I am no expert with him so there is that...

Lots of people seem to be missing the part that i didn't start locker hopping until there were two dead. I just happened to be working on a gen for the first minute or two when we realised that the nurse was hookcamping and tunneling hard. My friend wanted me to stay away because nurse was facecamping and unhooking wouldn't achieve anything. She even cussed put the two randoms as idiots in our party chat because they were unhooking her under nurses nose lol.
Nurse had a whale of a time getting 7 hooks in a matter of minutes by tunneling and hanging arpund the hook from the start of the game. Then spent 5-10 minutes looking for the last 2 survivors with 3 gens left.
Sure, though wasn't specifically calling you out there btw
Honestly, if someone tunnels and camps as Nurse I really think whatever you do to deny them kills is totally fair. The more annoying the better lol
-
Okay so I grabbed the Trapper one and the animated background looks pretty nice with the rain ngl
-
They are cool but I feel that they will be so common as not many of them. I have 122,000 points on Steam but nothing much to spend them on lol
-
Stealth is one of the counters to Nurse, pre-leaving gens early and hiding is particularly annoying for Nurse as her base movement speed is so slow she cannot waste much time searching for immersed survivors. But be warned, this will likely irritate a skilled Nurse and some will punish this playstyle with unfun tactics...
Oh and hiding so your team mates take all aggro is not a very nice or useful way to play either in my opinion
-
Nurse was my main killer but even I get annoyed and think the player is an absolute ******* if they run Starstruck or full gen control builds on her. Camping, tunnelling and NOED Nurses are also pretty cringe. I rarely got DC's as I tend to run meme builds and never camp or tunnel (unless they are a clicky BM SWF), the most I get is people who give up first hook before they realise you aren't a sweaty Nurse.
People can run what they want on her of course but sweaty oppressive builds just make people hate her even more and I kinda resent that. It made me feel bad even playing my favourite killer and now I rarely ever do as I just feel bad
Edit: I just noticed the OP's build - I wasn't having a cheap jab at him in particular for using Starstruck, I just dislike the perk on Nurse and feel it is way too strong and makes people hate her even more
-
Pretty much never, I cannot actually remember the last time exactly. I used to only really use them when I was doing old prestige and was going to lose everything so I would use up all I could before that
-
I feel like it is a wasted perk slot personally, though I guess if you really like to pre-leave gens it may be your thing. That play style can be effective and quite annoying for killer imo
-

How could I forget about Plague. I understand its part of her power but I actually cannot deal with the visiting noise. It really makes me want to DC.
Yeah the vomiting gets a bit much and I find the matches seem to drag and feel like a chore... She isn't the worst but if I die early in those matches I am not exactly sad about it
-
I run a build that will screw up all but the best Nurses if you can lose LOS for a second or two - Iron Will, Dance With Me, Lucky Break and Off the Record or I get rid of Dance with Me for Lightweight at times.
Once Nurse fatigues after landing a hit, I use that speed boost to quickly take a weird path and will even go behind them then crouch behind something. Nobody expects Iron Will any more and it works surprisingly often.
Always remember to shake up what you are doing, don't just double back or camp corners every time. Run wide of loops rather than run tight to the pallet/window as you would other killers as Nurses will often try to predict that.
If you get caught in the open, fake a double back (but your timing will need to be good) but generally being out in the open is a RIP like it is with many killers.
