  • Slugging creates pressure early on so if you can slug one and chase another survivor, then one has to come off gens so you only have one potentially doing gens.

The other common reason is the hatch mechanic forces killers who want a 4k to slug. Now personally, I wont slug for the 4k and will just leave it up to RNG and most times I seem to find the hatch first anyway.

However if the team was particularly sweaty or especially if they were toxic, then that is the exception where I will slug to ensure the last doesn't get out.

Are you using a mouse or controller? and are you having issues hitting the flick or just hitting the turn cap?

On PC and using mouse... kinda having trouble doing both but I am trying to learn to deal with much higher DPI than I am used to (normally 800 but trying 2400). I guess I just need to keep practicing till I get it

Basically when you're looking up or down in a loop when you wanna 180, you're tilting your mouse abit. and when you do flick you can also move left or right for a split second to adjust the hit.

Sorry if how i worded what i said confused you lol. i used to play alot of fps tho back in the day with high Dpi so i got used to playing with High Dpi

Thanks, I tried to up to 2400 DPI which is about the most I can stand and its painful but I can see how it does help, so I will just have to adjust. Think I get it, just need to practice it... a LOT more lol

  • @Steakdabait said:

The full 180 flick is an exploit but it's pretty easy to hit your turn cap with even slow mouse sens.

Yes I have seen tips on how to do this but I am not really looking to exploit, just the 90 deg flick is all I need to get down

  • @Verconissp said:

    Good Oni Tips:

If you're looking to Flick. up your DPI in-game and or on your mouse (if you can change it) but not too high, find a perfect DPI. it varies between everyone, (i play at 9k dpi for example)

When you're shooting for a flick. either look up or down before you turn so you can adjust mid-flick and get that 180,

Not really much but its moreso practice..

I struggled with DPI increases as I came from FPS games so I have always had a very low DPI.

When you say "adjust mid-flick" are you actually flicking your mouse in the direction you want to go? As I note that he kinda auto aims to some extent on survivors

I often strafe sideways when prepping a dash slam. The limited rotation he can swing in is offset by strafing sideways. It opens up that left/right to a wider angle.

Its hard to word but I have been strafing since he was released and found him easy to slam survivors even on console.

Another tip is bring Brutal Strength. It’s a counter to pre dropping survivors. Like Clown.

Hmm yeah I am only strafing as I saw on vids they said to never use W once your demon dash is charged/active. But I cant get those sharp turns on corners like I see others doing when they "flick"

I can get survivors caught out of position easily but not able to get them the second they round a corner which is what those who flick correctly are doing

  • Well opinions are subjective so there is that...

But for me personally Legion is a boring and annoying killer to play against. They pretty much get guaranteed cheap shots you cannot avoid as survivor and mending 50 times a match is not my idea of interesting game play.

  • I didn't really until I started playing a lot of Huntress... you simply have to walk away from some loops or get your mind game skills upgraded. I really think it should not stack with Hope though

  • @UndeddJester said:

Really wish they'd just make these addons closer to modern Mori's so there is less annoyance on survivors and this achievement isn't so dire... then we could finally see some buffs on Myers base kit.

I refuse to attempt it until bots are in. The need to win, lockers and hatch are already bad enough to block you, getting a DC is just pain 😮‍💨

I think Tombstone should not be a thing in the first place.

I do understand how it sucks to be a survivor and you get Tombstoned before you really get a match and it is one of the most toxic addons in the game. That being said, unless survivors feed you early on it takes a long time to get full stalk if you are using the perma tier 3 addon as I have been.

But yeah, this achievement sucks, I have tried so many times I have run out of addons again

  • @Krazzik said:

I got really lucky with mine as I got matched against babies who genuinely didn't seem to know you could hide in lockers against it. But yeah it's one of the most annoying achievement by far, you can't even get it by being a 'nice killer' like the nurse grab one.

Yeah I tried to intentionally lose several matches and just had fun letting everyone go to drop my MMR but I just keep getting survivors who will force grabs off gens or jump in lockers. I have run out of addons now anyway... sigh :(

  • @Dwight_Fairfield said:

I feel your pain. I had to get it twice because the PS5 version of Dbd resets all the achievements.

I am a Mikey main too and my MMR is very high on him. So it was a solid week of survivors jumping in lockers, killing themselves on hook, dc'ing. So fun.

Yeah you understand the pain then, doing it once is bad enough.

It is like there is nothing they won't do to ensure you are denied this achievement, even DCing

  • I only use the weak ones or none at all.

I never use exposed or sweaty addons with any killer, I don't enjoy going against ridiculously sweaty killer builds so I don't subject others to them either

  • I played nearly 120 hours of DBD in the last two weeks lol... I had all but stopped playing it prior to the event but the BP bonus drew me in and I got addicted again.

Gonna miss the BP but not all the pallet stuff

  • I didn't mean to post this as a question thread either lol

  • @Jangles said:

Please no its so laggy, I'm sick of getting hit over pallets and windows and getting hit by things i can drive a bus through

I get it, the servers seem to be struggling with all the players. But I think it has been worth it regardless as the BP bonuses have helped so much with the overall grind

It's worse than that, in most cases it makes a lunge attack impossible to hit with, one simple turn from the survivor just makes a lunge miss.

Small speed boosts don't really matter for getting around, which is what ppl think of for just getting from point a to point b like in this test. It matters when in a chase because then your cutting into the speed difference between killer and survivor. If Ghostface is chasing you and your 3% faster... 3% is 20% of the speed difference between you. Now it takes 20% longer to close any distance, even if just running in a straight line. It's kinda like how a stack of PWYF won't make a killer any better at patrolling the map really, but is pretty massive in a chase.

Yep, in chases it is horrific. For a 110 killer like Huntress it can turn normally fairly average loops into almost an infinite. Combined with Hope at EG... just nasty

  • Lately I enjoy playing Artist and I think she is underrated and to play against, probably Bubba so long as he isn't camping

  • I didn't think much of it until I faced a decent survivor with it yesterday and boy does it make weaker killers have a miserable time. It is amazing how such a small increase in base speed can make so many loops take an extra loop or even more to finally get a pallet/hit

  • One of my least favourite maps for either side. Just don't enjoy the way it plays

  • @Sava18 said:

Some of the servers are terrible right now, it doesn't seem to be everywhere but me and other people on the forum are experiencing 100+ ping lobbies. Every time I play killer I'm up against players from central America. I'm in the center of the US. Only on killer though.

Yeah I think servers are struggling with the influx of players during the event and its causing latency issues

  • I love losing killers mid change with Lucky Break/Iron will and a cheeky juke

Or messing with killers heads with Red Herring or Diversion (combo of both is fun).

  • Run Distortion, it is such and underrated perk

  • Coup changes seem too much to me personally... though I do acknowledge the perk is underwhelming as it currently is, when you actually get the use it is incredibly strong and ten tokens is a lot. We will see I guess

  • Hell no, not even close.

MFT isn't going to help most players as most are casuals and only the top tier survivors and killers know exactly how much you can get out of every loop at normal speed.

Old DH gave you a free health state multiple times per match and I don't think MFT is as bad as people make out. Though with Hope at EG it can be a bit rough

  • No. I hate it, it is pointless and not relevant to the game.

  • Honestly, after playing a lot of him I think he is far stronger than he is given credit for and if he was buffed those changes would just be nerfed later on.

I am no god, hell I am not even a killer main but I have been playing a lot of him and after a lot of pain I finally seem to have the idea and he destroys most public lobbies.

  • Part of it for me is that to actually grind Billy you will tend to have at least some level of humility as a player, as Billy in the modern day is pain. The Billy mains I know (there are only a couple) don't tunnel or camp and they play for sweet curves more than to win matches.

Billy mains tend to be some of the most fun and chilled out killer mains in DBD in my experience. There are exceptions but not many

  • I am really enjoying him, more than I thought I would.

I only started him to get the Steam achievements and at first I found him clunky and frustrating too and I had a rough time for quite a few matches. But then it started to all fall together as his power made more sense and I have been playing him more than any other killer.

I think he can be almost too much against most solo teams, if you know how to use him and particularly how to use his power in chase

  • I play him daily at present... It was really hard for me learning him and it was really frustrating at first. But once I got to grips with him he is fun but I rarely see them personally.

I think most people realise he takes a fair bit of learning and they just give up as its too much effort, plus you get stomped pretty hard at first.

  • Anecdotally I would agree Wraiths tend to tunnel more than other killers but then Huntress' seem to camp and tunnel more too imo. I think it is something to do with them being free with the base game and new killers often resort to these tactics out of desperation

  • I would like them to add a random build option permanently so I can go into games with random builds without it just being a challenge.

Sometimes I enjoy running random builds to shake it up and keep things interesting

  • So this would explain why I have the hidden perks but it just selects my last build regardless... was wondering what I was doing wrong here

  • Nothing wrong with it but I can understand how people dislike it. Though often you can take advantage of the fact someone is running it, as they tend to go for a vault over other options and you can exploit this tendency

  • Its frustrating they made us have to go through all this again... I don't know why it isn't just a setting and why they wont let us use actual fullscreen that matches our desktop?

Anyway, I found this vid helpful if anyone else is finding themselves needed to redo these config changes

It's ridiculous, now they're blaming survivors for the change, like if only the survivors saw the problems with a lot of the nerfs done in the last PTB

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/L2SQ4C62TZGT/killermains.jpg

Even the ones that are way more killer-sided and positive about the PTB changes like SpooknJukes agreed that the healing nerf was too much.

And the DH "buff" some people are talking about, like what buff? It can be used only twice in a match now lolololol they go so far as to deny the Pain Res change wasn't a buff, like, it got busted in the regression, when you boost something is it a buff or a nerf?

Some people shouldn't be playing this, they can't handle it.

I agree, the changes were far too much and to their credit it appears they have been listening.

I don't play DBD at all lately but follow updates to some extent but I do remember the old days where the devs would get an idea, the community would react with horror and make great suggestions... then they devs would do what they wanted anyway and it was inevitably a disaster.

At least they appear to be listening now, so if changes that happen turn out to be really bad they will themselves be changed. Though you can never please everyone of course

You got it! Too many survivors were too hung up on the 25% sounds they made and thusly called the perk "absolute garbage" and "totally worthless now. Trash!". Yeah, the killer HAS a chance to hear you now, which is fair, but its still very muffeled and faint, especially with the way the chase music is blasting into killers headphones. IW is still very strong and now that its not meta anymore you can catch a lot of killers offguard with your 25% sounds.

You got it, the strong part is nobody expects it these days so you can pull of all kinds of crazy plays!

  • Depends when you play but it definitely has been on killer more and more lately in OCE

  • Good and Dead Hard also needs to be looked at too, as a 3rd health state that can be used repeatedly in a match is beyond ridiculous

  • Because a lot of people just mindlessly follow the crowd and it seems that despite years of people doing the same thing thousands of times over and over... people still think the whole face camping basement Bubba thing is hilarious and original.

I used to struggle to the last second to buy my team time but now I just cant be bothered and kms on hook to go next instead of waste any more of my life humouring this boring nonsense.

Thankfully I don't see it that often as its so tedious at this point

Game has the Lunar New Year event and there are new skins for Resident Evil, so people are playing and paying for those.

Anyways why does Albert Wesker keep a photo of Rebecca in his desk?

Lol I dunno, Albert is a bit of a doofus let's be real here, so who knows how his mad genius mind works.

Could be RE I guess but it seems unlikely people would even know about an in game event if they didn't already own the game or follow them on Twitter etc and why would you follow but not own a game anyway?

Could be a sale in another region (possibly Asia?) as above... I dunno

It's possible that it is on sale in a different region. Companies sometimes do that if they are trying to grow the game in certain places. Although i don't know if that is actually what is happening.

Yeah I did think this may be the case actually as I know sales do happen in specific regions.

  • Very much so. Eruption in every killer build I face and usually most if not all survivors with DH when I run killer.

Tired of it and cant bring myself to play at present. I am sure I will come crawling back again as I always do lol... but I just cant do it at present

See - this is what I mean.

It's never 'oh, this needs to be reworked so it's better for solos but still a good perk'.

It's always 'I DON'T CARE. Nerf this to the ground or just remove the perk and leave that killer with 2. Or I and EVERYONE ELSE is going to quit'. From a forum member, and then a handful of...strangely new looking accounts agreeing with them.

    Sigh.

And this is why we can't have nice things.

    Well whatever I guess.

But objectively speaking, the perk is broken and needs a complete rework/nerf as its really sucking the fun out of playing survivor.

Its been a couple of weeks since I stopped, I just had one match where I finally could not bring myself to yet again deal with an Eruption based build, I quit the match and have not played since.

The perk needs to be dealt with asap

  • I stopped playing completely until they nerf/remove it.

  • I can win most matches with her using Jolt, Pain Res, Sloppy and BBQ to help me choose my next tv to teleport to. I am not going to claim I am an expert as my addon choice is 'whatever' but I tend to make heavy use of the tv's and grind them down with sloppy hit and run and by the time they get to 2 gens map resources are getting low and they are abandoning heals.

I have never resorted to the condemned tactic either but I have rarely lost playing as above and think she is not as bad as people say. Map mobility is so strong when you can get from one side to the other in seconds

  • I use neither and for the same reason - both are broken and unfair and I wont use something I dislike going against

  • Legion, Pinhead, Trickster, Twins, Knight, GF and probably Plague

But I rarely ever see Twins and hopefully it stays that way

  • @Phasmamain said:

I’d gladly lose DH if it means eruption also gets removed

    Totally agree with this

  • DBD goes up and down and I don't think it is dying but the current meta is miserable, particularly if you are playing solo survivor and having to deal with Eruption based builds every game.

I pretty much only logged in to spend my BP since rank just reset but I will play again, just been overdue for a break and the current meta is a perfect time to take a break.

Though a double BP event would motivate me to instantly return lol
