I think it's unfair that other blood point earning perks have a secondary effect.
I just want a token for full heals and then to buff the values back to 50%/100%/150%/200% now that safe unhooks are required.
-
It just shouldn’t be a terror radius dependent perk, a 45 second cooldown with it being usable at the start.
-
To improve boil over I was thinking about disabling the nearest hook for a survivor to use forcing them to actually deal with the wiggle.
I had an idea for Boil Over that would inhibit the killer, but it would be able to be countered without the use of the perk. Basically, the wiggle effects are now 50%/75%/100% and the hook obscuring is 14/28/42 meters. This would mean that a killer would just have use their eyes and memory to find a hook as apposed to just following the aura. That way there's no unfair "fast wiggle" or "slower killer" or your suggestion "unknown hook disabling". I DO like those 3 ideas, however there isn't a way for the killer to counter them without the use of a perk.
-
To improve boil over, I was thinking why not have the perk make the closest possible hook unable to be used by the killer?
Honestly they should buff both of the default values: 50%/75%/100% for wiggle effect and 14/28/42 meters for hook aura obscuring. That way it’ll be on the killer to actively look for and remember hook locations instead of just getting a “hook’s here dumbass” aura.

Your fault on staying trying to look at him should've ran and hide.
It doesn’t matter seeing as he can just follow you and continue to stalk until he gets it. It is literally impossible to break his LoS 100% of the time. There are ALWAYS times where he can see you and he will get the stalk off; and seeing how busted the reveal mechanics are there’s no real counterplay to it.

Why is this in bug reports?

Never ever again. Old wglf used to get survivours farmed a hell lot more often then now. I have been on the recieving end of being farmed by survivours who had bt and just literally unhooked in front of the killer. It was way more common when it had the crazy multiplier. Survivours ruined it for others and they cant ever again be trusted to have that bonus.
It’d be no different than a 100% multiplier, plus with the new safe unhooks prerequisite it deters people from farming. It’d be fine if it had that BP gain again.
-
Playing with Myers at high ranks is not easy, and the same is true for all killers with ordinary mobility:
Shouldn’t it be the other way round? Because if you’re at high ranks you shouldn’t get a boost seeing as you most likely already know how the game works. I could possibly see this for rank 20-16 seeing as those are mostly newer players, but not for higher rank players.
-
Yeah, since killers get both aura revealing AND extra bloodpoints with BBQ imo it would be fair to add a little something to WGLF to even things out.
I mean, I just want to see it get a 200% BP boost again, and possibly have it grant stacks on fully healing someone.
-
Make it a charge perk with the ability to stun instantly after getting inside and outside of the locker for a min of 1.5 seconds up to 3
Or just make it a cooldown perk, there’s no reason it should be an exhaustion perk

It is an exploit. He has to stalk me for 4 seconds, I have to look at him for 1.8. The game is supposed to be "the first one to expose/reveal the other, wins". But, he has a way to exploit my reveal, he just hides behind the wall and pops out and keeps stalking, while I have no way to counter his stalking, he has a way to counter my reveal. Like dribbling to bug the old DS or moonwalk legion.
Honestly the stalking timer should just decrease over time if he doesn’t manage to get a full stalk off.
-
Ever since Hex:
I agree, Head On should not be an exhaustion perk, I don’t know who decided it should be that way but they didn’t do a good job designing that perk.
-
So as it is vigil is currently a pretty terrible perk
Honestly I really love your idea, it’s a unique idea that’d give this perk the love it needs. I’d really like to see your concept be put in the live game. I’m going to list my two ideas for it just because this is a relevant thread.
Idea 1) Buff the values to 25% and make it a universal effect (like open handed); in addition, it would now effect anything that has a timer on the survivor side (including Make Your Choice, Haunted Ground, Doc’s Madness meter, and Ghostface exposed time). Vigil would still stack, but if only one person is running the perk, then everyone would get a 40% boost as apposed to a 25% one; it’d be less than if 2 people ran Vigil, but it’d still make it somewhat useful.
Idea 2) The perk stays exactly the same except for two things; similar to the previous idea, it’ll now effect more negative effects on the survivor side, and it’ll allow to recover exhaustion while running (how it used to before the exhaustion nerf, with the 20% reduction from Vigil).
-
Yeah, I agree with this, perk should not be an exhaustion perk. Even if it was consistent it still wouldn’t be worth being an exhaustion perk. The common counter to this is “uHhH bUt YoU’d Be AbLe To Sb OuT oF a LoCkEr” which is not true seeing as fast vaulting out of a locker WASTES most of it not all of SB. The only reason I say “if not all” is because HO is a longer animation than just jumping out of a locker.

Excuse me?
Switching from rank 15 killer to rank 1 survivor is equally challenging, true.
But killer is easier to play?
I never heard a more pathetic lie (statement) in my entire life.
Go search up Depip Squad, watch some Tru3Ta1ent, ask Monto about his streaming experiences with playing killer, go play rank 1 without Nurse.
Then come back and tell us, killers are easy to play please.
You dear sir, don't have any idea about how this game functions, it seems.
You mean playing killer is easier?
Do survivors have to carry a perk with them to make them even viable? (Ruin)
Do killers have second chance perks for massively ######### up? (No, NOED is not one of them, you still have to put some effort into downing someone and then it can be completely annulated)
How many bugs are there on the survivor side which are hindering survivor gameplay? (Nearly none, ask the killers about bugs they are experiencing, THE grab function is still broken)
I usually played survivor and were only rank 1 just by owning overpowered perks and mediocre looping. Even without SWF.
Both roles have their problems, but survivors are definitely the power role and the role the devs care most for, even if you believe otherwise.
If you disagree with me, show me some rank 1 footage of a killer not being nurse or billy, who can actually dominate the game. Of course against decent survivors.
Average gen times are 5 minutes in my red ranks games by the way.
You want some killers who think the game is too easy as killer? Sure, Physcoscorpians, Sverkeren, and Unumz are just 3 people who both are really good at killer and usually play other killers that aren’t billy or nurse. On top of that, none of them use Ruin because they don’t need it, because they know how to actually play the game. If you think survivors don’t have hindering bugs on their side, then whooo boy to you just ignore what happens on that side. Hitboxes are still #########, vaulting through a window completely and getting some distance away to still be hit, the double knife addon bug is back (making everything slower for survivors), bugged pallets where the survivor gets stuck for a couple seconds in a broken pallet before jittering through, survivors hair being able to seen over various auras so that a killer can find them even easier, and various perks not working how they’re supposed to; just to name a few. So yeah, survivor has just as many bugs that effect their game as killers do, and you’d have to be really close minded or blatantly ignoring of the other side to not see them. So yes, killer is the easiest it’s ever been, and it’s really on you and your skill level if you can’t play the game without Ruin. Also how is NOED not considered a second chance perk to you? It is the ultimate, “I played the game badly so let me get boosted at the last second” perk. It is based around the killer failing to to their job and then getting a benefit from it. As for “hard to use” if you are competent, you’ll be able to press M1 to hit someone and down them in 1 hit, it’s really not that hard.
-
SWF members receive an additional requirement for ALL action speeds:
Or just give the killer a BP bonus post trial based on how many SWF members there were and they also get more lax emblem requirements; that's how killers should be compensated without making them more powerful or making the survivors worse imo. There are a lot of killers (including myself) that see SWF as an opportunity to get better at the game instead of being unfair; and that makes sacrificing them that much more satisfying. Making that easier would completely remove that and it would make those matches boring.

I wish everybody would stop saying that it forces people to buy the cosmetics. The dev stream said that of the past "tones" of every rift stays, so you can grind for it even after the chapter ends. That means if you want a themed cosmetic, then you can get it at ANY time.
If this is true then I won’t have gripes with it.

Hell, I'd be way more interested if "I'm All Ears" showed the aura if a fast vault was done while IN the TR. Then it would be similar to Alert in a chase.
Outside of TR means jack #########.
If it worked in TR, it would be way too powerful on Nurse seeing as it is a whole 6 seconds, plus it would become worthless on stealth killers, but let's see how well it plays out in the PTB, they'll always have time to change it.

How are tapps perks trash you can turn good skill checks into great skillchecks 4 times and when you complete a gen everything is revealed to you I agree tenacity is situational but his 2 other perks IMO are actually good not as good as self care But those 2 IMO are good why do you think tapp is bad
Because Detective's Hunch is rendered mute if you are unable to complete a gen and all it does is show you objects that are really easy to find without it, not to mention there are more focused perks that completely destroy its usability if you want to find something specific (totems, chests, etc.) As for Stake Out, it is completely countered by low terror radius killers and you only get 4 tokens max for it; it's not terrible, but turning 4 normal RNG based skillchecks into great ones is not worth it imo. Similar to Detective's Hunch, you can take better and more focused perks instead of Stake Out that don't have an inconsistent prerequisite (Leader/Botany for healing or Prove Thyself for gens).

The game has been growing and so has the development team for the game. Developers are expensive and they get paid a lot of money, just Google the wages for game developers. On top of that, they have multiple positions such as design teams, QA team, developers, level designers, and a few more.
On top of that, servers can be quite expensive and with the introduction of dedicated servers that are coming soon, they would need to spend quite a bit of money to buy enough servers for multiple regions and locations to ensure as many players as possible have decent ping.
Personally I don't see an issue with it because it only gives you cosmetics. Although it is another source of income, that will just help them to expand their team further like they have been doing by the looks of it.
But I thought the DLCs and the auric cell exclusive cosmetics were enough, seeing as their price tags are already pretty high and seeing as grinding for the shard cosmetics take quite a long time, the faster reaction is just to pay the digital currency and just outright buy them.

The thing is, if you look at the slide for the "Battle Pass" you can clearly see that they state that you CAN access the paid track via playtime. So you can essentially get the skins for free when you play much.
I seriously don't see the problem here apart from that they should seriously start bundling some killers to the main game or so. But having the option to buy (which again you can acces via playtime) a battle pass to earn skins? Yup, the real problem
If this is true, then I won't have an issue with it, but from what I saw on the dev stream it seemed to be how other games handled it. That being that there are 2 paths, the paid and non-paid one; the non-paid one provided less cosmetics with no opportunity to get the main ones centered around the theme. Based on that I assumed it would work like that, however if it does work like how you say then it will be better.

You know years ago people were against any sort of paid dlc, people were against subscription games like wow.
Guess what happened? Those who were against them didn't buy them but the market still introduced them and for dlc some made that much someone always wanted something.
Then you have the ftp model which on paper looks great but that mod makes even more money for some but that's probably due to the pareto principle that 20% of your customers make up 80% of your revenue.
In the end you can't stamp your feet, post threads but it is happening like it or not, you have the choice to purchase it or not, that choice is yours to make alone.
No one is part of the problem of it happening as it WILL happen anyway, battlepasses are the new dlc scenario like it or not.
That doesn't make it any better, if something is bad for the community the worst possible thing someone can do is stand idly by and say, "welp guess I better let them just do it because they'd do it anyway".

Personally I like to feel rewarded when I sink a bunch of time into a game like this. I don't mind paying extra to get skins, just like buying the charity case.
The only worry I have is what is in the battle pass? Skins and new loading screens is cool but maybe emotes would annoy me. The only thing I dislike about certain battle passes is how I feel they release content, such as emotes which make the game to silly.
I'd personally want at least 1/2 full cosmetics per character for a battle pass and maybe 2/3 new loading screens.
But isn't that what the shop and the shards are supposed to do? I can't blame you if those don't feel rewarding to you, but shards reward so much more than just a chance at a cosmetic. They can reward you with almost any cosmetic you want, almost every character, and new perks/bloodpoints all for free and strictly obtained with gameplay. Having both to me and having both have paid aspects feels redundant and unnecessary especially seeing as one provides so much less and has to be paid multiple times to get the full experience of it.
-
@Vlieger said:
I'm a bit confused by your post after reading the title, the post, and all the replies. So in all seriousness let me ask: Are you actually angry about the Battle Pass being a thing, or just the exclusivity aspect of the paid cosmetics?
Personally I see the Battle Pass as a great way for the developers to continue to add cosmetics into the game and reward all players, and give the players the additional option to purchase more cosmetics and help support the game.
I do absolutely agree though on the exclusivity thing. It is a very obvious sales tactic to boost sales. A person is much more likely to buy something if they know they won't have the chance to ever get it again.
Both, given that this is not a free game ($106 for the full game without cosmetics) on top of the already existing cosmetic shop, the battle pass is overkill. The whole exclusive thing sucks too because they said in the past that they would avoid that path at all costs. So if the cosmetics WERE obtainable in the store after a set time or if the base game were free (and original DLCs after a certain period of time), then I'd have less of an issue with it. Adding a battle pass to everything that already exists is redundant.

Isn't DBD rated M?
But also I don't get the lootbox comparison. This isn't gambling. This is you buying a pass and then playing the game to get those skins. Matter of fact, buying the pass just cuts down on the amount of time you need to spend to even get those cosmetics. I don't even see the predatory practices here...other games with Battle Passes (like Paladins) have a free and paid track. You MUST pay to get those skins, no amount of playtime will get them for you
Just because something is rated M means that every person playing it is going to be that age, there are children who play Call of Duty and GTA who are far too young to play it.
The comparison drawn between lootboxes was because it's a similar situation, the only way to get these skins is to pay repeatedly to get them and it is purposely playing off of the limited edition tactic to get people to buy it. If the cosmetics come to the store eventually, then it would not be as bad.
-
@Mister_xD said:
again: why would that be bad in any way for players?
you literally get cosmetics FOR FREE, just by playing the game ON TOP of the cosmetics you can buy with shards. you will get even more cosmetics by spending some money and grinding the pay 2 get Battlepass.
this will finally give me a reason to keep playing the game more than 1 or 2 rounds a day, so no. this is not a bad thing. its not pay2win, its purely for cosmetics and it gives players like me a reason to keep playing.
this game will NOT turn into Fortnite 2.0, just because we got a Battlepass.
we will NOT be flooded by 8 year olds because of this and this will literally change NOTHING ingame.
thats my opinion on the matter.
But we already had that, it was called the DbD store and shards, it literally fulfills the same purpose but it is a lot less predatory. I can't fault you for wanting to play more, but shards are enough of a motivation to play more to unlock cosmetics, and guess what, you don't have to pay a cent to get that. Never said it would become fortnight or be "flooded with 8 year olds", I was merely drawing comparisons to FREE games that use this practice because it is their only source of income. It isn't pay to win, but that doesn't make it any less scummy.
-
@rch614 said:
In the end, it is a business. Yes, people are more likely to buy something if it is limited time and this system takes advantage of that. It would be cool if they became available again in the future but even if they don't, it is completely up to the player themselves if they want to buy it or not. You're pressured, not required.
And you can't see how bad it is for a $100+ dollar game to charge more for limited cosmetics, on top of the store; even if they're not pay to win, it is still is an extra cost.

I don't support or oppose this. Why? Because it's cosmetics. It's a non issue. If you want to buy in for them you can. If not you don't have to. As for those who "feel pressured " they need to grow up. The I feel pressured thing is a lame excuse for making poor choices.
It's not an excuse for people who make poor choices, it is a predatory tactic so that people don't feel left out. It's like putting a compulsive gambler in a casino or in front of lootboxes and blaming them for the scummy things that the companies try to take advantage of because of their situation. Not to mention a decent part of this community are people who are under 18, who are more susceptible to these kinds of practices. It is not a healthy practice for any game that costs money.

They're part of the "problem" in that they're not on this propaganda and overwhelming hate for something that probably won't even affect you if you just don't want to buy it.
I'm all for discussion and debate about this but alot of the people arguing against battlepass are vehement about it and throw insults or call pro-battle pass opinions "invalid" or "part of the problem".
Btw you shouldn't use special letters to bypass the word filter.
It might not affect me, but it could affect others who feel pressured into getting something that’s limited. Previous limited cosmetics were free to compensate for you possibly not getting them, but now you have to pay for them at a CHANCE to get what you want. I hope I don’t have to describe how bad this is for the common consumer or new player, because it is very anti-consumer.

As soon as the stream comes out, or the PTB, the forums go totally bat #########? maybe play the ame first? maybe just wait and see how things go?

WHAT is even the point doing the survey??? If they aren't going to listen to what people want. I'm pretty damn sure LOTS of people say NO!
Battle Passes suck ass but guess what games they show up in? That's right, FREE GAMES. That's how they get their revenue, but DbD isn't free it costs $109 for JUST the game and its DLC. This DbD battle pass is bullshit and I have no idea why they thought this was a good idea, its terrible and they should have never went with this idea

I'm a firm believer that not everything a killer is capable of should have a hard (>50% success rate) counter.
Or just make vigil affect the Exposed status effects that have visual timers on the survivor side :/

(potentially a new perk idea also) So instead of doing this: You are a battler and do everything to escape a foe's grasp.
I really like this idea, however I think it should be its own perk (or maybe a part of WGLF?) instead of being a change to BO. Personally I think BO should have it's wiggle effect be 100% and its aura obscuring be 32 meters (both at tier 3). That way the lower tiers could actually be worth using and tier 3 could be a worthwhile perk to run while being able to be easily counter-played by the killer.

Oh I'm sorry I thought you were talking about Pharmacy still, my bad Dx

what are you on about? It reduces the sounds by 8 meters for all tiers not to mention this "buff" doesn't actually change the perk it just makes tiers 1 and 2 slightly less #########, the perk still sucks overall and needs an actual buff.
-
@Entità said:
@Peanits @Panduh @PolarBear Pharmacy ensures only one full heal, and this is a bug: the green medkit has 24 charges and a consumption rate of 0.75c / s, so it should last for 32 seconds, two complete heals. If this bug is not fixed, finding a brown, yellow or green medkit in the chest is completely indifferent.
Furthermore, those who use Pharmacy instead of SelfCare suffer numerous limitations:
1) non-unlimited heals;
2) inability to transport other objects and to maintain the ability to heal themselves;
3) vulnerability to Franklin;
4) need to spend time finding a chest;
5) risk of finding already open chests.
The killers complain about the gen rushes and the abuse of SelfCare: the developers should then favor the use of different healing perks, which force the survivors to devote themselves to secondary objectives, but Pharmacy is currently useless: it pays to open a chest at random and hope to find a brown medkit ...
They might as well just give you a purple medkit on the first chest search because at least that makes is so that your GUARANTEED two full heals without other perks.

Do you realise that the sabo is dead? Nobody will do it except for the daily event.
The hooks spawn so close to each other, so it's not even worth to try sabo at all.
This; also perks that could make it better like Boil Over and Flip Flop are so worthless that they're not worth running. Honestly both of those perks just need minor adjustments, BO needs a larger radius of hook obscuring (say 42 meters at tier 3) and it's wiggle effectiveness needs to be 100%, and FF should have it so that half of your recovery equals half of your wiggle (instead of converting a while recovery bar to 50% wiggle, so basically recovering equals 100% of your wiggle, but maxes at 50%).

In both live server and PTB, in this house, too many windows are opened.
But all of those windows are super unsafe, unless you're really bad all you have to do is take two steps in one direction and hit the survivor; I've done that multiple times as killer, it's really not that hard.

You're gonna hold that punish for getting your locker juke read or being caught in the act. Now as for Luigifan's issue, that shouldn't happen and could probably be remedied by better centering of interaction points. Though lockers ideally shouldn't spawn next to windows in the first place, but the spawning rules for terrain objects is seemingly just a mess. Animation cancel wouldn't actually do much for you as if you get animation cancels you're getting recovery frames. That means you're still getting hit.

I think Spirit is even better than Billy. Don't forget about this girl.
She is good, idk about Hillbilly good, but she's up there. Her problem stems from her being unfun to face, especially with prayer beads. I really enjoy playing as her and sure I don't mind going up against her every now and then (I don't hate facing her as much as some other people do, old Legion and Nurse are waaay worse imo), but her unfun factor stems from similar reasons to why people hate nurse (however she is not that bad not by a longshot, nor do I think she needs changing, except for prayer beads).
-
How many times happened that you slowly entered a locker to try to juke the killer, but for some reason he saw you and you were forced to patienly wait for the animation to end while they run toward you, before being able to jump out just in time to get hit or grabbed by the killer?
Honestly I wouldn't mind this, there have been instances where I went into a locker when I meant to go through a window, but the two were too close together so the killer got a free hook. +1 this idea, maybe pressing control while in a locker animation would cancel it.
