I think a TV series with each episode centered around a character backstory would work out better.

It's a solid choice for solo survivors. Wastes too much time, though, especially if sloppy and thana are in play. I like running it with BK and Resilience for phat 20 second heals. Otherwise a pretty poor choice, especially if you have perks like iron will and dead hard.
Ive just been getting pretty use to ironwill, and if I need heals...Thats what medkits or bond is for.

All i see is a nurse vs mildly brain damaged survivors (rank 20s)
I wasnt even refering to his interaction with survivors when posting that video. Go to around 4:45 and just ignore the survivors for a second. The guy is just constantly practicly CHANTING "Behavior, Fix your ****ink game".

Yeah, but OP asked for someone who says Nurse is still the strongest killer in the game, while also being really good with her. Zubat falls under that category as far as I gathered.
Feel like even Zubat is hating playing her at this point. When your getting THAT stressed out about not being able to blink where you should and getting stuck on EVERYTHING... Its really no wonder shes a Unicorn when it comes to pickrate. Even if you 4k every time, that much stress just aint healthy.

If you say so, but like i said i never experienced this and i can only speak on what i've experience. I'm a red rank survivor(not bragging, merely emphasizing experience). Don't think you can do this at red ranks just saying
Was looking for a Tru3 video I saw awhile back of him having to deal with it. Its not uncounterable or anything, just boring as all hell having to recover over and over before making a dent of progress again. I'll see if I can find it for ya.

A streamer called ZubatLel is prolly the closest you can get to someone conssitently winning with new Nurse.
His latest nurse video was mostly just him cursing the devs and PRAYING that nurse would function correctly. He DID eventually win though so...

No i read your article,.what you're saying makes no sense if patrolling alone killer won't assure a 3 gen lockdown and i have never went against killers who did so like you implied ( not chase and continuously lockdown 3 gen without chase)
Its actually a pretty common tactic to see with Doc since you can generally force ppl to waste time snapping out of madness 3 while at the same time breaking pallets in the general area of the 3 gens youve decided to stay on. Eventually it just results in a giant dead zone with survivors struggling to make ANY progress between being chased off, left injured and having to snap out of it again.

If Shred is his main power, why does he have like, two add-ons that affect it? The rest affect his portals. He does slow down when charging Shred, I can't remember if it is 110% or less, but I do know that it is slower than 115%.
Most of Billy's add-ons affect his speed, charge time, cooldown or slowdown. Most of Demo's add-ons affect his stealth time, effects given when touching portals, speed of portals, how many portals he can place, and how fast he can place them.
Me bringing up his movement speed was in comparison to Huntress. Using Shred is pretty comparible to trying for close and mid-range hatchets, with Demo moving faster NORMALLY (115% vs 110%) as well as moving faster with the attacks ready (don;t know the exact numbers, but Huntress moves at like 50% speed with a hatchet up). As far as ADDONS go...this just means Demos isnt dependant on addons if theyre not boosting up his best asset. His portals are nice for cutting down map travel, but its his shred thats what hes actually using to assist him in downing people. You brought up the stun time for when he uses Shred, but I honestly think thats fair considering the distance shred makes him travel. With the distance covered taken into account, Demo isnt really losing any ground by that cooldown period.

Idk, I think if they left him in that state any longer, people would have rioted. I do remember being awfully confused about why Freddy always found me when I was a baby Survivor tho
While I enjoy new Freddy, I've been a Freddy main for over a year now. When they announced his rework, I decided to take my addons of choice (class photo and nancy's masterpiece) into abunch of farm maps to TRY to get rotten fields (which I considered strong for him). Heres a screenshot I took of the scorecard screen after a 2 minute game that resulted in a 4k with 5 gens to go...
Thought the black pip with no camping was worthy of a screenshot, lol.

According to the Devs and their choice of add-ons for Demo, his Portals are his main power, meaning he should be stealthy. His Shred is just there as a bonus.
Myers has stealth and snowball, but little anti-loop or map pressure.
Demo is supposed to have map pressure and anti-loop and some stealth. Instead, he is loud as hell, his Shred is iffy at best and his map pressure can be totally avoided by cleansing his power.
I was wondering where the comparison was, makes abit more sense now. I dont consider the main selling point of a killer who loudly screams while flying around the map to be "stealth". Thats like me going "See Billy here, the guy who flys around at mach speeds with a loud as hell chainsaw that 1 shots... Hes got a muffler addon, which makes him a stealth killer."
As far as the devs intention vs the reality of how a killer is played... Shred is the main use of Demo. The guy turns into a sort of short ranged Huntress while NOT being 110% movement speed.
Point in all this being...comparing him to a stealth killer isnt really a good comparison.

True. But I don't think that was the sole reason.
It wasnt the sole reason for the rework as a whole, but it was a large part of it. I remember hearing during a dev stream them say they removed the aura reading because some people didnt know that Freddy COULD read their aura while they were asleep. At the time I thought that was a weird reason... A survivor being uninformed about a killers base power being the reason for a change, not even an obscure addon or anything.

Doc's power, coupled with some terrible FPS, makes him a legit threat to missing skill checks. He gets way more bang for his buck than Oni or Demo.
Oni had his flick removed and the sensitivity on console is still awful.
DemoDoggo's Shred has a long stun if you miss and with console FPS and sensitivity, it is very difficult to hit. Plus, his portals are loud AF. Why would I pick Demo when I could pick Myers?
Im not sure why youd compare Demo and Myers here... The 2 are VERY different with pros and cons to each.
Docs power though (the power to make FPS crash and burn) together with already bad FPS issues CAN indeed make skillchecks tough. After putting everyone in madness tier 2, you could walk off the map and hangout with your killer buddys and the amount of slowdown on those gens would be the same since those graphics cards have surely already melted, lol.

I do not think so. Freddy was not annoying for Survivors. He had one of the lowest Kill rates and was miserable to play as.
People felt the aura reading and heavily reduced action speed was annoying, which is why that got removed with the rework.
-
Feel like one of Clown's biggest problems is just how easy it is to keep track of where he is due to being able to hear screams across the map from his bottles. If I hear random survivor screaming at the beginning of the match without the madness effect around player icons at the bottom...I know its Doc and I know exactly WHERE he is without even having to see him. Its like giving every survivor in the match Alert 2.0. Loud noises from nurse screams or Billys chainsaw didnt matter much because that information was instantly outdated when they moved from spot to spot. Loud noises from SLOW killers though who couldnt even be sneaky is the nail in the coffin.

I have had two games against a Nurse in the last month. Everyone got out and it was a red rank Nurse. There are very few Nurse's on console. I do not doubt her power, but her popularity, well, she isn't ever picked; as such i cannot put her higher.
Plague has some decent slowdown and snowball, plus, a lot of console Survivors cleanse.
GF's ability to turn off his TR and get instant downs is INVALUABLE.
If Trapper started with all his traps, he would be B tier at least.
Whats your reasoning for placing Doc at the same lvl as Demo and Oni, while placing him ABOVE others? If your strategy is to fry the survivor's Xboxes then I get it... Otherwise he just tries to shock ppl to make em not use a pallet while slowing himself down, and if they wanted to use the pallet anyway...theyd do it early since his shock range atm sucks. Much hope for Doc getting improvements with the rework.
-
Best thing you can really do is preserve whatever pallets you can in that area. It does you no good to lead chases in that area and throw down pallets when your teammates arnt actively attacking those gens yet. It just leads you into situations where by the time you HAVE to get one of them done with everyone else...theres nothing to work with. Also helps to have toolboxes and such ready to knock those gens out faster. If the killer isnt pressuring you for the other gens, save the toolboxes you brought in with you and maybe try looting one from a chest. If you have a BNP with you, that last gen is a good opportunity to use it.

Just couple minutes ago had game that luckily got cancelled that illustrates exactly what you are saying. Rank 4 said "thank god avoided" so he is obviously not SWF with them. Is there a single person who thinks that matching rank 4 and 17 survivors in one game can be enjoyable to anyone?
Was in a match last week where my 1 other red ranked teammate brought 2 rank 16s with him against a red rank killer. Me being the random here had no clue WHY these guys were so bad until the endgame score screen. My red ranked teammate made the decision to bring in new teammates, not me...

I encountered what you are describing just a few minutes ago. Absolutely no fun for me, as it just makes me feel bad hanging rank 20 survivor who doesn't know that pallet doesn't stop Nurse and I'm sure absolutely no fun for them. This will just make people play less or quit entirely. I'm worried for long term health of the game :(
Clearly those grey ranks just need to git gud...

There’s this great feature I use when I play killer that hides the chat. No matter what you will have salty survivors so just hide the chat and move on. The devs are not responsible for what other players do and they also can’t control the fact that someone in the party brings their friend or not enough proprerly ranked people. Dead by Daylight is full of toxic trolls who sit in their basement or their moms house bullying people on a keyboard and sadly that won’t change
The chat isnt the only issue being discussed here. Matchmaking being all over the place is the main issue being brought up. Being put into a squad of grey ranks instead of the red ranks you SHOULD have against a red rank killer...sucks. I dont have control of that and I'm pretty screwed before the game even starts. On the opposite side as killer, being matched against survivors who have no business being in the same lobby as you also sucks, whether that being placed against survivors much higher OR much lower rank than you.
A top 500 rank player being randomly placed in a silver rank game on Overwatch wouldnt fly if it was the norm, even if they took away the chat. For some reason...thats the norm on DBD. The matchmaking system is completely failing at placing people in lobbys with others of appropriate ranks. I can only hope it gets fixed soon.

When I wrote this, I didn’t have Last Year in mind until someone pointed that out. To think I thought I was being original 😂. Also interesting point, but if they were sacrificed, their ranking would suffer whether they escape later or not (under pip suggestions). I suppose you’re still right about the slug part...I like it when I get good criticism, cause I like to hear different opinions, so thank you 😁
Last Year is able to make use out of a system like this one because it has a timer. The killer CAN win by getting everyone "in statis" at the same time, but can also win just by stalling the survivors long enough. Your idea doesnt leave room for that, so leaves very little reason to down and hook people.

True. Otz is a Trapper god, but I'm thinking of a generic meta build with zero add-ons. If he started with all of his traps and they were darker, at least B tier.
The guy regularly uses the most random looking builds that only make sense to him because he knows the exact location of the Claudette that WILL join his lobby in 36 seconds. This haunted grounds hes putting on is for her to cleanse at exactly 6 minutes and 32 seconds into the match when hes swinging at the Nea (who will join the lobby in 37 seconds)...and hes doing it with brown addons. SCREW YO RUIN!!!

Well, what specifically do you want to know?
Trapper is kinda bad without add-ons. He is outdated, if he started with all of his traps, he would be easily B tier.
Its really hard to think of Trapper as being the lowest tier when I've seen what Otz can do with him. In all fairness though...some of Otz's trapper plays seem like borderline mind reading AND fortune telling. The guy could put a trap INSIDE a bush, and even though its physically impossible for a survivor to get in the bush...the trap will still find someones foot.
-
I've had the bug happen to me once. No real input I did to start it. Buddy of mine who had it happen to him said it turned off once he fell from a high location. Unfortunately cant really punish anyone for it since they arnt in control of it. What some refer to as "abusing" it, others would just say said survivors are just NOT delivering themselves to the hook and running away like theyd normally be doing.

The same logic could be applied to Killer’s seeing survivors items, which has been in the game since the beginning, wouldn’t you say? If so, why make survivors play a game when they don’t feel like the, say, rank 15-can be something to prepare for or to dodge?
While it CAN be similar in that a killer seeing 4 flashlights could use that information to dodge, said killer could also use that information to make a change to their loadout and equip lightborn or franklins.
I agree though that being matched with teammates WAY out of their league is frustrating. I hope that the devs do something about this, even if the solution provided ISNT to reinstate the lobby rankings.

-
Afew things with this. The idea mostly just makes it sound like Last Year. If you wanna play Last Year, go play Last Year, lol. Beyond that, the way of winning as listed here for killer is to either slug all the survivors so you can hook them all at the same time, or let the survivors finish the gens so you hooking them actually matters.
With what you have listed, theres no reason a killer should actually hook a survivor while gens are being done. That survivor isnt going to be out of the game no matter how many times they are being hooked, and theres no time limit or anything that the killer is trying to stall for. This is just going to make slugging builds the obvious answer, so the killer can hook everyone at the same time.
-
Freddy 2.0 is fun, but Imma go with Nemesis. This perk opened alot of doors for builds on killers that just wasnt there before. Now I have a reason to equip the huge stock of judith's journals that I had saved up for example.

@Clevite said:
First you need to have played both sides competitivly.
Second gen rush is just doing objectives unmolested. You don't pressure objectives they will be worked on.
Same can be said with tunneling and camping. They just affect 4 out of 5 players and it seems unfun and unfair.
I can't really loop as survivor so can't speak to that. But as killer if I can't get you quick I'm gonna go back to those gens because I know what your trying to do.
As far as "Gen-rush" is concerned, your partially right. If you just have a case of the killer not chasing each survivor and sticking to 1 guy too long, sure. If you have a case however of stacking toolbox addons and perks specifically to speed up gen repair times significantly faster than 80 seconds per person per gen... That no longer has anything to do with the killer's actions. Things like Franklins doesnt even stop this since the only person your hindering with it is the one person on the team not doing a gen anyway.
-
This is one reason I think DBD should adopt a system similar to Overwatch, in which theres a maximum limit difference between the lowest and the highest ranked player on a team. If you can only get a 6 lvl limit between the highest and lowest, would seem pretty fair to me to then grab a killer whos ranking is close to the average survivor rank. Get a rank 1, 2, 5 and 6 survivor team and pair them up against a killer thats rank 3 or 4.
Frankly, I'm tired of seeing abunch of newbies in my teams when I try to play survivor or see that the killer I was facing was ridiculously outmatched.
This particular screenshot was taken 2 months ago. Clearly though the killer needs to "Git Gud".

BBQs Aura Reveal is not that strong. It can be countered by lockers or sitting behind Gens, and for most of the Killers, it does not help that much. Even if you see nobody, this does not mean that they are close to the Hook.
While certain Killers really get a lot of BBQ (Billy, Spirit, Huntress, Nurse...), so either Killers with high mobility or a high range, others will not get anything from it. Like, why use BBQ on Hag? When you are there, they are gone already. Same with most of the Killers, it is nice because of the BPs and not because of the Aura Read.
Also, why is BBQ such a good Perk? ---> You want people to buy the DLC. You get Leatherface (one of the weakest Killers in the game) with two other Perks which are also weak (or maybe mediocre, at best). It is the only selling argument of the DLC (besides people who simply like the character of course)
I would rather see WGLF buffed in a way that you can accumulate more stacks, which would make it fair for both sides to use their extra-BP-Perk, because WGLF forces you to play a certain way while BBQ give extra BP by just playing the game.
Excuse me? Bubba is the most OP killer in the game... He has a chainsaw, and can be pretty much INVISIBLE. I challenge you to TRY to find Bubba in this picture (He IS there, i promise).
I can sneak up REALLY close to survivors because they think I'm just another Claudette. Its only when they hear the chainsaw do they go "wait a minute... there was no Claudette in the Lobby!!!"
-
I know they gave killers the ability to open the exit gates once the last gen is finished as a sort of "surrender", but I could see maybe having that as a choice for the rest of the match as well. The only thing to be weary of however is the amount of people whod just immediately open the gate as soon as they dont get the map they wanted or something, as well as how that would affect the emblems of the survivors. Ive had matches with killers staying stealed all game where I BARELY avoided a depip as survivor after doing the gens and breaking as many totems as I could for extra emblem points. An immediate gate open would just rob a survivor of those lightbringer emblem points.
-

While i definitly understand you, but here is my point. Dont derank. If you are good enough for red rank you should stay there. If you rank down on purpose just to have easy games vs lower survivors, it can be very frustration for you opponents.
Also you say you are completetive... why you derank then? Thats the opposite of competetive.
I can understand both sides of deranking. Cant stand when ppl do it by throwing a game or DCing over and over, cuz those games are just ruined for everyone, but it can be nice being at a calmer rank when trying out characters or builds your not familiar with. I know after rank reset BEFORE when I'd go from rank 1 to rank 11, alot of times id just kinda chill there for awhile and screw around with killers I dont have much experience with (Played Plague afew times last week, which makes it a grand total of like 5 times ever). The key is to sort of guage the rank your at with how hard your going. If I'm playing at green ranks, I'll pick something appropriate for that. If I start heading back towards red, THEN I'll start swapping to my comfort zone.
I'm not about to just slaughter a team of newbies with my best stuff though, cuz like you said... that's just gonna piss off the people I'm going against with a harder game than they rightfully should be having. Playing like THIS is sorta similar to how Overwatch does its ranking. I might be a Diamond rank healer, but if I swap over to tank...I'm gold AT BEST, lol. I might be a red rank Freddy, but I MIGHT be around rank 10ish with Huntress. Unfortunately DBD doesnt let me swap ranks based off killer as easy as Overwatch does by role, so I just have to take it upon myself to bench Freddy while I'm at that rank 10.

I don't have many add-ons on myers but ill try it sometime. I completely forgot about that.
Im now playing clown so im deppiping without worries. Im rly bad at clown and got his map agains swf, i managed to put 2 on 2nd hook so i think it isnt that bad.
Myers is one of the killers that I managed to unlock every perk on, so I have quite afew addons. Heres my loadout for THAT.
Nemesis not only lets you get PWYF stacks easily, but also pairs well with Judith's tomestone to let you tier up quickly off each person. Since your not hooking ppl, slowdown perks like Pop are completely pointless, which is why I have ruin here. You can also use Corrupt intervention if you want. Surveillance is pretty handy for keeping tabs of the field. Had a game last night where I was able to get a 4k with 4 gens remaining and surveillance keeping tabs of ALL the remaining gens. As soon as they touched a gen...that was my next victim. PWYF helps quite abit not only in chase, but also just simple mobility since you'll be keeping all your stacks all game (tomestone doesnt use a stack).
-
Started trying the tomestone piece addon on Mikey lately. Those things really piled up and I never use em... Figured out even if you tomestone 3 ppl and kill the last on hook (theres not enough stalk to tomestone all 4), you end up depiping... Only way to avoid that is to NOT tomestone someone so quickly and maybe hook/chase ppl more, otherwise your looking at not getting any emblem points at all in 2 of the catagories, with a silver at best in chaser + whatever you get in gatekeeper. Did this afew times before rank reset and even if I got an Iri gatekeeper, its not enough to avoid a depip at red ranks. Landed on rank 5 before reset, which put me at rank 9 after reset...
Depending on how well you do, you still might get some hate for it but... at least your actually PLAYING the game instead of just throwing matches.
-
Most of the time its just a swap of GGs, but I've gotten plenty of hate messages as well.
Heres an example of each. I have a folder titled "Salty endgame messages", but the actual compliment about my Bubba play was rare enough to make me wanna save it.

Nothing you can do, it's the devs fault for putting in such a dumb challenge and not taking precautionary measures to inevitable DCs.

Two thoughts:
1. there are enough lobbies in which the opportunity can arise to make a challenge come true.
2. you can't force someone to endure everything in the game - even if it's fun for the opponent, it doesn't have to be for the other.
Sometimes the appeal of a challenge lies in the fact that you can't win it just like that, but have to hope for the chance.
Theres a difference between being beaten in a game and having someone yeet the game out the window. If I'm about to beat you in chess, you dont get to flip the board and say "better luck next time".
