Because the Survivor's are just skins :(
Skins with perks. At this point most people have a dedicated main with all perks. No need to restart. Have fun with the new skin and go back to the main.
Killers are unique due to powers and movement speed and most killers will have all perks simply because builds.

The best way to learn to play against SWF is actually to master your killer without addons.
Learn to use the killer without addons and be proficient enough to get and maintain red rank without them. That way when you have a SWF group pop in you become utterly dominating with mediocre addons let alone good one.
Learn your killer without the greatest perks. Time Management is a key here. You need to know when a chase is taking too long how long you should invest. Adjust your perks based on what you see in a lobby as well.
Stop dodging SWF. Not every single SWF is a hardcore group of players. Some are actually just friends enjoying the game together. The only major difference between SWF and Solo is the level of communication. You can use this to your advantage it takes practice. Dodging these lobbies is hurting your skill level against them and hurting the exp of casual players grouped as just friends playing.

I'd like to see that statistic that shows 90% of Surviviors like to play against Billy more than Spirit.
I play both sides and Spirit is far easier to take advantage of than Billy.
Billy's only real asset his his map pressure and Instadown. Any mediocre survivor can make a Billy miss his chainsaw. Your curving aspect sadly works as well as Huntress in a straight line. Again any mediocre Survivor can dodge it. Baiting a Billy is not hard or even challenging. You dont need statistics to see the fact more people DC against a Spirit then a Billy. If you really play both sides then you knew this already and either are hoping your argument will change people's minds.
Problem is without Perks and Addons Spirit is superior. She has a higher skill cealing then Billy will ever have. Leaning on the fact that Billy has 115 ms and a instadown wont give you much room.
With Perks and Addons she can be superior to Billy as well. She can have a build that can easily take a survivor down within seconds. Not Billy's instadown speed well at least without perks.
Problem for Billy is he is simple and straight forward in his design which leaves a lot of room for counterplay. Yes a good Billy will shine and do amazing, but a good Spirit will outdo a Billy. You keep mentioning her power cool down, but funny thing is. I have been playing her since release and I dont run power duration or recovery and have never had a problem with her power and downing someone.
The simple thing is Spirit has a higher skill cealing then Billy. Yes Billy is well rounded and can do the job, but a good Spirit will keep learning new tricks and new strategies to improve due to her vastly higher skill cealing. You act like looping a Spirit is a common and easy thing yet almost everyone in this thread disagrees. Billy is easier to loop and deal with then a Spirit anyday. You could honestly flesh out all the Tips and Tricks for each of these two killers. Billy's if he is lucky will be a full page and a half. Spirit will have a full blown essay and still be missing stuff.
TLDR: Billy's Skill Cealing is Quicker to reach then Spirits Skill Cealing. Billy can Carry you where's Spirit is only good as the person playing her.

So what? You mess up against Spirit you get hit. You mess up against Billy and u get hooked. There's a massive difference.
Billy and Spirit have been locked in this "who is better" war ever since Spirit got buffed. She's easier to loop than Billy is, since you have promised ways to force her to drop her power, which turns her into a 110 killer. Like I said before she cannot brute Force through a chase. She needs her power. Conversely Billy's is a luxury. Now that wouldn't be an issue if Spirits power had 100% no counterplay. But considering something as simple as vaulting a remotely safe window destroys her phasing entirely, I'd say it's an issue. You have a far easier time against Spirit than you do against Billy. That's not saying Spirit is a bad killer. But that IS saying she's not superior to Billy.
Did you not read my last section or just get upset because I pointed out Spirits strengths. I didnt even point out anything other then Billy's instadown and not even in a bad way lmao.
-
Best killers on console are roughly the same as on PC. Despite that Huntress, Nurse, and Legion suffer a bit from the FPS randomly dipping on you.
My person tops would be in no particular order
Spirt, Hag, Billy, Huntress, Ghostface, Myers, and Nurse.
While this list is not in a order Billy and Spirit are honestly far better then most. While Huntress suffers from FPS loss like the other two it's not nearly as punishing.
Honestly the biggest thing with killer is practice practice practice. Mastering a killer will keep you in red ranks. It wont matter who it is either. Know the limits for your killer and what they can do. Your perks should accommodate that.
-
@Clockso said:
i agree, spirit, hag, huntress. are all decent killers. most 115% killers aren't that good and rely on their speed to catch survivors, not to mention 110% killers have a lower terror radius
Just agreed. Though Huntress would like a reduction between her Terror Radius and Humming.

If Billy is easily loopable, how is he even considered one of the best in the game. Spirit has a higher skill cap, but she's also far more exploitable than Billy is.
She has god tier mindgames? You can simply abandon the loop she's mindgaming you at. You force out one use of her power and she has to wait to recharge it. Billy meanwhile has a power with no cooldown that applies superior map pressure. Only thing Spirit has is superior chase potential and that's if she secures her power
The fact is Spirits mindgames are instantaneous. The moment she stops you need to read the situation. Is she phasing? Faking? What addons does she use? What if she Short phases and still has it up in less then a second? All these and more factors into a Spirit in a brief moment she stops.
Spirit can end chases in seconds. Billy being able to instadown someone is cool and all, but countering loops and having the single strongest chase potential in the game with her strong addons allows Spirit to effectively win. Her base kit is all a strong Spirit player needs.
The fact is Spirit makes you consider so much about every little thing in such a short amount of time.
Really asking which one is superior is odd considering both are top tier for the same thing, but for different reasons.

There already is a perk for punishing injured survivors. It's called Thanataphobia.
Does it do it's job well? Hell no. It needs a buff. It's only good for Legion right now, and Legion sucks worst than Shrek the Third.
It's actually really good on plague too and freddy with the right addons and build. To effectively make Freddy the same debuff as before the rework.
-
I've noticed killer's typically are better in this ranking system then before. In the past when I mained survivor I noticed games were often lopsided. At least these days it seems the matches are more often then not more balanced out. Of course there are matches that swing drastically in favor of one side or the other, but nowhere near as common imho as it once was.
-
I would love it if they took the two highest ranks and got a avg between them and that's how the killer was picked for SwF. Though with how people depip im starting to think All Time played vs Season Play vs Rank should be considered. This way new people can't physically be paired with people who have hundred to thousands of hours.

@Liruliniel do you do you think that means it is someone else with a similar ability as one of the killers we have now
Doubtful at least I hope. we have enough killer's that are either M1 based or are lesser copies i.e Leather face to Billy. I really like the old style of Legion where he would not need to refill his bar to pop his ability. After the rework they changed it similar to Spirit so that it needed to be fully recharged which honestly disappointed me.
I would like a new killer whos somewhat viable at red ranks possibly B or A tier with a unique ability that we have never seen before. I like killer's who are unique and fun to me as a killer, but unique and force me into a different style of play as a surv.

I main Feng Min for survivors.
For killers I main Spirit, Huntress, Hag, and Pig.

Some of these perks are useful in fun and creative builds.

Had this odd bug on ps4. Doubt it was anything special. Found this when showing something to a friend. We realized it was only shown in the addon section of dbd. If you looked elsewhere it had the proper name.
That aside it recall looking into the stranger things stuff and it does seem to be a good possibility. The dbd guy who deals with licensing agreements reaponded to the stranger things stuff mentioning behavior and such for games. This does not mean its 100% though as he could he working on other games then just dbd.

if they arent going to be willing to do it again it shouldnt have been done the first time. We grind and work hard to get our perks just as people did for their prestige items.
Your point is what exactly tons of games have exclusives ranging from preorder to events to beta and alpha testing. We currently have a easier time doing blood webs then was done in the past. We have an easier time obtaining blood points then in the past. Legacy is a exclusive right to people who supported the game and actively played the game back in the day.
It takes roughly 1.5 months to obtain all survivors perks tier 3 on a single survivor who was p3 lvl 50 with 2 other survivors teachables unlocked at the time. I did this outside of event's as well.
Acting like this takes forever is ridiculous. People need to get over it. Legacy will never return. It was an exclusive from the past that's no longer available. They might possibly do something unique at a later date, but honestly anything that takes away from the uniqueness of Legacy might be avoided.
-
I got it with just a random Spirit build within a day or two. I avg a pull every 1 to 3 games. Its oddly really both rare and common depending on some survivors.

It's not tunneling to chase the same survivor twice and you know it. What if it's the only visible survivor? What if it's the end game? What if the killer was unable to hook anyone, but still chased other survivors?
DS works for its intended purpose, for the most part. The only thing that needs to change is the fact that it remains active even if the killer has hooked someone else.
Tunneling is a overly broad term I specifically mean the tunneling that is the moment that you unhook them they proceeded to go for them and not anyone else. The tunneling that actually is tunneling not the overly used term.
I do agree once someone is hooked it should be deactivated.
-
@NoShinyPony said:
Chase and terror radius mechanics can be abused. Why not make it so that the DS gets deactivated when another surv gets downed + hooked after the DS user got unhooked?
That's what I basically suggested. Except it works for both hooks in case of tunneling.

It is a simpler change than the redesign of having no timer. However, having infinite immunity is also kinda iffy to me. It is two extra checks which break the abuse. I mean I can see if you are being chased for the minute. However, you at least got to loop the killer more. Which then depending on getaway skill and pallets you can punish them yourself.
If your still being chased its tunneling and you know it though and they know it. I suggested it in a way that fully punishes tunneling, but if you dont tunnel then its its truely a wasted perk. This just come from my feelings as a person who plays both sides though I enjoy killer more then survivor nowadays. I wouldn't mind if it was like Deep Wounds, RBT in the fact if you were in a chase/Terror Radius the time wouldn't decrease.
-

My suggestion was what are your thoughts?:
Here is how I think DS should be handled.
Now let's discuss tunneling:
You go after the person that just got off the hook to down them again.
Now what I suggest is a buff/nerf to the perk accordingly. You still have a minute timer: However, if you are downed within that minute DS is active. This is nullified if a survivor is hooked prior to you being downed. This prevents the Abuse of DS on the survivor side. It also prevents the Abuse of Slugging for a minute on the Killer side. You either get away untunneled or you don't and get DS. There is no longer an immunity since you can down the rescuer and then hook them find the DS user and down them and hook. Again they had the chance to GTFO from the situation.
So same idea just add a timer which literally is basically the same? Well I guess the biggest issue is being slugged and left down so I wouldn't mind, but I have seen killers literally follow a person for 60 seconds and on the 61 second just hit them. That's why I said inf time till another person is hooked.
-
I would rather have all perks at the 3 for all color combination from common to ultra rare. Makes it more interesting honestly
-
I would prefer DS timer to be removed and instead remain active on both unhooks for a total of 2 uses 1 per hook until another survivor has been hooked at which point the DS remains inactive until your unhooked again. If you happen to be the last survivor though the perk will remain inactive or turn off.
Basically if you tunnel it affects you if you dont tunnel it's a wasted slot. It's all up to the killer how useful DS is.

You find Spirit's fun to play against? The #########?
How can playing against a killer that pretty much counters your every move if played by a smart killer be considered fun? There's nothing more boring and infuriating when a Spirit downs you at a loop and then whilst she's carrying you all you hear is "Ha Ha Ha" in your ear. It's as if she can tell you're ######### mad.
I just hate this killer, if they make her shut up with all her autistic sounds I might like her more otherwise she'll always stay my least favourite killer to go against.
I do because most Spirits are easy to play against. I used to play Spirit exclusively so I know all the subtle tells.
Shes fun to go against because shes unique. Makes me play in a different way. That add variety and that makes a game fun. Just because you do poorly with her mindgames does not mean others do.

I never said I struggled as a whole to face Spirit, I just said she's boring to go against especially if she has different hair cosmetics, a killer that can beat a survivor at a loop 80% of the time is frankly stupid, there's no matter of skill involved for the survivor, the survivor could be the best in the game and it doesn't matter because that's the way Spirit is.
And also, it's plain boring to go against a killer who every time they interact with you stand still and outplay you all the time with no counterplay involved.
And there is no way they could nerf SWF without having to nerf Solo queue and Solo queue is a nightmare already especially at red ranks (one of the reasons being the killer I talked about above).
I actually think Spirits are fun to play against they force a different style of play very few killers do that as is. Rarely do I see one actually being able to pull out the odds your proclaiming. Not that I'm saying there is not Spirits like that, but I highly doubt they are as common as you seem to suggest in your post.
Standing still or not you say you know how to counter her, but your bringing up arguments that truly most people stated when she first came out and low rank people mention. People have adapted and learned counters. You state you know them so act like it.
I never said to nerf SWF I play it a ton with friends and nerfing SWF is a guarenteed way to start the end of this game. I'm just stating why nerf a killer who's viable against those kinda groups when currently there is a very select few who could honestly stand a chance.

I really don't care about Spirit players and players' opinions of Spirit, I know how to counter her phase in chase when she's wearing a hair cosmetic where you see her physics reset, either they make this a thing for all her cosmetics or they change it.
Spirit is the devs worst mistake, change my mind
Dont need to or care to change your mind everyone's entitled to an opinion. You just suggest a nerf simply because your bad at reading a killer. They have made many mistakes across the years honestly. Spirit is no where near close enough to be the worst either. There are very few killers in DBD that can activly 4k a 4 man SwF sweat squad with coms. I see no reason to start nerfing or giving them bad QoL changes.

That was also the problem with Legion.
It wasn't fun to play against Old Legion but it was fun to play as Old Legion.
However Legion has been changed but Spirit hasn't.
Spirit needs a QoL change like Legion did, but make it less harsh than what Legion had. All I want changed is her flickering when she's chasing you and her "mindgame". Make the "mindgames" unique to Prayer Beads and allow survivors to hear her phase in the terror radius.
I actually didnt enjoy new or old Legion, but I feel the rework went to far. Rework the mending and chase mechanics, a addon, and a few other tweaks and they would of been fine as is. They were just prematurely beaten within a inch of life and rereleased into the wild.
You know most of her mind games actually have small telltale signs if shes phasing or not honestly. Watch her hair it stands on attention when she starts to phase *her school girl and purple outfits have hair that help against this*, but you'll understand when you see it. She also is bugged again and shimmers while phasing. You can also hear her foot steps quite well when in phase. Her passive phasing in borderline pointless so dont focus on that. The suggestion of always hear her phasing is not a QoL change that's a full on nerf. If anything I would suggest reduction of terror radius, but then Monitor and Abuse will become god tier on her.

My favorite build on Spirit is
BBQ&C, MYC, PGTW, Ruin.

This
I'd rather climb the ladder in MGS3 Snake Eater and be less bored than facing a Spirit.
It's so boring how every time she gets next to you it's the same usual "I'll stand here and you have to guess where I'm going, yay, fun game"
Unfortunately shes way too fun to play though.
Someone once described playing survivor vs killer as a game of chess, but Survivor vs Spirit is the Survivors flip coins while the Spirit plays Chess.

for infinites either use your power, if it helps, other wise just leave them, you’re wasting your time chasing them, they can’t stay there forever unless they Justin don’t do gens at all which is good for the killer
Except the farm map with the gen in the middle of the inf. Then they can be productive till it's done and at that point anyone can use that inf to effectively lock a killer down long enough for gens to be done.

I use both monitor and infectious fright on Myers most people laugh at it, but I get to chain evil within 3 stabs quickly.

I honestly like variety with my killers builds. I dont like having the same builds for multiple killers to me that's boring. Playing with different perks also let's you not get use to a specific playstyle and let's you adapt with other perks easier. I'm the same way with survivor once I use a perk to much I'll trade it out and rework my build.

Except my gripe is that if you know they have it, your only counterplay is to quite literally play like you don't know how to loop. The whole reason killers run EndFury is to punish Surviviors for Landing the pallet stun, which is one of the reasons killers respect pallets. If you drop the pallet prematurely like ur suggesting all the killer does is break the pallet and either Bloodlust you to death or force you to the next loop where you gotta do the same thing. It forces you to play worse bc it will end badly for you if you do otherwise.
Honestly the only thing I'd want is for there to be a clear way to tell if the killer is running Spirit fury.
That's pretty easy to tell most killers wont break pallets after the initial 2 unless you loop them. I dont mean drop it significantly early. More like just soon enough the killer wont get stunned.

I mean on this issue I think there should be more counterplay to EndFury since it's a really powerful combo and the counterplay is quite literally just "play like a rank 20" but a flat nerf I don't think so.
Honestly the counter ability is simple. You dont loop like normal. You drop the pallet early to prevent the Spirit Enduring Combo. If you believe that they have it then it's easy to drop early. Most people seem to forget that squeezing out that very last loop is bad if you know they have it. The difference in being efficient and foolish with that combo can be interchangeable.

I honestly don't think CI is that good. It really depends on the map and where you spawn. If it's like Suffocation Pit and you spawn on one side, it's great because it almost forces a 3 gen on the other side. But if you get something like Ward and spawn near the middle, it will just ensure survivors split the map even if they didn't try to for it. It can backfire, and the benefit of blocking 3 gens for 2 minutes at the start of the game isn't going to help in the long run.
Imma ignore the rng of maps since unless you do a offering it's too inconsistent to matter and just state my overall reasoning to try a build like this in general.
The general perks and my thoughts.
CORRUPT INTERVENTION:
2 minutes of blocked gens furthest from you. Can also be RNG based on spawn as killer.
POP GOES THE WEASEL:
25% gen regression for 60 seconds on 1 gen per hooked survivors.
THRILLING TREMORS:
Block all generators not being worked on for a period of 16 seconds every 60 seconds when you pick a survivor up.
DISCORDANCE:
Explosion and generator highlighted in yellow when 2 or more survivors get on a gen together.
Combination:
Corrupt intervention pairs with Discordance to find survivors quickly early game allowing you to get quick downs. Towards the end of the 2 minutes when Corrupt Intervention if you pick someone up with Thrilling Tremors it will proceed to block gens giving you further chance to keep gens blocked.
This build will potentially force a 3 gen strategy, has multiple forms of situational awareness. Ability to slow the game down and the fall back on Pop to further slow the game.
-
What is your playstyle as Spirit @Carlosylu

@thesuicidefox said:
So far the best build I found for new Freddy is BBQ, Ruin, Pop, Tremors. You can also use Discord instead of Tremors, but I think Tremors is better to combo with Pop.
Sloppy is also a good pick if you run chains/rope add-ons, as it will just turn healing into a huge time sink when survivors are asleep.
Surveillance is still a good perk for Freddy but only if survivors are using skill checks to wake up (which you then want to use dress add-ons to punish).
If I had the perks I would like to try something like PGTW, Corrupt Intervention, Thrilling Tremors, and finally Discordance.

Killers want to nerf decisive strike when it has a foolproof counter. They want to nerf windows when they have a foolproof counter. This isn't a one sided thing
Its honestly a vicious cycle of nerfs/buffs.
Killers need x perk nerfed because too strong
Perk x is now nerfed
Survivors now need perk Y nerfed because perk x was holding it back.
Perk Y now gets nerfed as Does Pig and Billy gets Buff.
With Perk Y nerfed and Billy now buffed due to infectious fright. A call for Perk Z to be nerfed presents itself.
Pig sits in a corner with slight nerfs *not salty at all* People proceed to call for nerfs or buffs on stuff that wont matter. The community should band together for the weaker perks/killers to be buffed to a viable playable level so everything is viable at all ranks this way the viability of the game still has some level of uniqueness.

Infectious Fright is based on Terror Radius of the killer at the moment the survivor is dropped to the ground. As your TR reactivates as the Ambush is occuring, I can not think of a reason why it wouldn't but I've not yet tested it. I'll be sure to try that out when I get home and let you know ^_^
Thanks and I keep forgetting they changed it recently as I only use it on Myers to pair with Monitor.

My build for Freddy is split between Snares and Pallets. Its only one perk difference though currently.
SNARES.
BBQ&C, Ruin, Pop Goes The Weasel, Discordance.
PALLETS.
BBQ&C, Ruin, Pop Goes The Weasel, Brutal Strength.
The reason I switch from Discordance to Brutal Strength is less down time when breaking pallets. This means I can effectively break pallet, spawn new pallet, and keep on with the chase.

What Does Not:
Save The Best For Last (can not gain or lose stacks), Hex: The Third Seal, Remember Me (can not gain stacks), Dark Devotion, Franklin's Demise, Mettle of Man (can not gain stacks as survivor)
What shouldn't even be tried:
Play With Your Food. You lose tokens the moment you activate the ambush, whether you fully charge it or not.
I wish Franklin's and Remember me worked with the dash sadly. Does infectious fright work or not btw? I'm getting better with her Dash, but not good enough to test these in actual gameplay yet.

Also, Infectious Fright is an interesting idea. Might be worth checking out because Huntress is pretty strong when it comes to slugging.
Thanks.
It's ok, but it's the way your treating someone that got me annoyed. Believe it or not his info is basically spot on. The difference between metas is not really a factor as the information he is providing you is based on FOV which is the same for both and its usefulness. The build brought up is from a famous PC Huntress player. Which is universally accepted as "The Rank 1 Huntress Build to play"
The only real difference of PC vs Console meta is time. PC usually develops the new meta. Console players watch PC streamers and slowly gravitate towards it. When asking specific information both sides are easy for generic info. When seeking information specifically it normally is the difference between Controller reaction times vs Mouse and Keyboard. My example would be on PC I can Pig Ambush with ease, but on PS4 I had no idea if it was possible so I asked the community. Turns out it was I just had the wrong sensitivity.
Either way remember Infectious Fright on Huntress on effects her Terror Radius not the additional Hum Radius. Do tell me the results I haven't been able to get it on her.
Anytime. I've seen ya post around before and you provide great info. Even if we differ in opinion on occasion xD

Once you get to higher ranks you get outta those killers mostly. Just do your best to pip up. Once you hit the rank 15ish mark you'll notice a drop in those strategies. They fade even further at rank 10 and higher. You'll always run into these kinda people at every rank though, but it's a tactic for new killers regardless because of a lack of exp.

Any chance you got before and after Pics? I only ever prestiged my Feng since she's the first person I picked up and I liked her.
