  • STBFL has better applications on more killers.

  • I honestly dislike Steve in game he is unbelievably hideous to me (in game not the actor).

So if Meg can cover that abomination of a face with a Mask I'm 100% for the bandana mask on Steve.

I'm just posting because see a lot on the forums that people throw the well Streamer can do this and that so you should be able to do to.

I really don't want to get into ruin because that's beating a dead horse. But I just keep seeing people telling killers or even survivor well so in so streamer does well so why you crying get good..

Well guess what ? Most of us have Jobs and don't have the time to invest in this game like the streamers we watch. Most play the game for living. It's like comparing a Professional basketball players to the miner league players.

A multiplayer game concept as simple Dbd shouldn't cost someone high blood pressure. Lol True story.

Point being not everyone has time to become God Killers. No offense to my survivor friends I know many don't have time to master survivor either.

To be honest I think the days of casual play is over for the killer role and is never coming back. Either play sweaty or Play for fun and depip and get message Ez Every game. Sorry for being a little salty. I play red rank killer so don't say I am noob. I only play 2hrs a day if I'm lucky.

No matter what game you play the higher you are in whatever system they use then it's no longer casual.

Dude I'm a dedicated Pig main, but I disagree with this whole heartedly. She's RNG forcing survivors into an unfair position by making it so the Fix box is a guaranteed failure because it feels better is just unfair and unfun.

As for stealth she just needs a significantly faster crouch and more fluid movement with a higher PoV.

    @Peanits said:

I'm not necessarily against reducing some of the random bits in the game, but that wouldn't quite be possible with the way the traps are set up. It's not just a set chance to get your trap off in each box, the key to your trap is in a specific box. That one box will take your trap off whenever you search it, the rest will do nothing (other than waste your time).

I have noticed over the last few months an massive uptick in people asking for nerfs or buffs for Perks or Killers without honestly considering what will happen to the Perk/Killer/Other Side. Is this just been how it always has been on these Forums Peanits? If so I would suggest that a Buff/Nerf section is created. A lot of the toxicity in the forums and community as a whole starts around these conversations so pushing it away from the General Discussion which newer generally players visit first might help prevent further toxicity from spreading and growing.

It's not like I'm exactly free of those actions either, but I figured that a suggestion like this could help.

Can you just tell me what you're trying to say? What I got from your response is that Demo can be countered quite easily even without the shriek and removing it would only improve the experience for both sides. Also hopefully you agree his footsteps could be quieter.

That is accurate. Just the way you formed your last post was basically stating I thought he was perfect as is so I got confused.

    @demodude said:

Removing the global warming sound when Demo uses a portal wouldn't make it fair for survivors. Stealth killers can be countered by survivors who look for them and by perks like spine chill or premonition. He would just appear without sound and the portal isn't visible before it got used once

Majority of survivors look around and would notice him. As you said there are counters to this as well. It's just a QoL change.

Also, that Killer got what was coming to him.

I have no issues with it just it wasn't what the community was promised so I was a little annoyed. Least you got the right race <3

Everyone saw him DC and got out in time for points it was hilarious. I've seen him a few times on PSN on both sides same with my friends. He does not enjoy playing against me or my friends.

Why would you like this to be removed? Let's remove the indicators for other killer powers and see how that goes.

Let me explain this quickly before you think I just want him buffed. I do not enjoy him, I dont like him, I honestly even hate the very chapter he was released in. Also FFS fix the footsteps from the killers perspective.

The reason I want it removed is solely because the teleportation via portals takes time, has a obvious tell if you see said portal (him appearing) or him entering one (not the location just leaving). While it Grant's the oblivious status giving him stealth a entire map wide notification makes that stealth near pointless.

    @Waffleyumboy

There is a difference between adjusting a Killers basekit to bring them more into alignment with the powers VS just being stupid about it. Also a lot of killers dont actually have mechanic breaking tells like this.

After conversing with me on the forums over the last few months I figured by now you would of realized I have extremely abstract ideas, but I'm not exactly a main for either side. I don't break thinks to make a killer or survivor OP just try to fix them in odd ways which brings them into a more sensible position.

RBTs are supposed to be scary and slow down the game. However, they don't...

RBTs are supposed to slow down the game yet they are activated by the game progressing. I won't get into the many problems that RBTs have, but do you think that RBTs should be activated instantly or maybe 30 seconds after placed instead of being activated by a generator?

It's the option of how you act and your following decisions with a Inactive or Active RBT that matters.

Kinda how while I see the appeal of RSN2 base I see it as removing an option which is more harmful than beneficial. Her ability is meant to slow down the game and her RBT are RNG based. By removing options you harm the slowdown effectively.

  • I would like the global teleport announcement to be removed. I dont enjoy playing Demo due to his footsteps, but it's not hard to counter him when he jumps portals.

I remember playing against Leatherface for the first time. I had never experienced a friendly killer before so when he refused to attack us I was very confused.

In the post-game chat he just said "frands".

Second weirdest one was when I got everyone in the lobby to play Pizza Dwight and we all crouched around in a line. However, that was probably a lot weirder for the killer than it was for me.

It was the time I tried Starbound and quickly realized it was a bad game. Not only was it a clone since the dev split off, but it was not the game the Dev's had promised us it was gonna be when they begged for people to preorder because of living situations.

Oh wait I'm still not SALTY AF not at all. I want my monies back.

    Jokes aside

Prolly the oddest game was the killer who wanted to "farm" and attempted to start killing people for real. Yep most intensive immersive game anyone prolly had played. Killer never saw another survivor, survivors never saw each other, and 5 gens got done. T-Bagging at both gates were followed by a killer DCing.

Maybe you can, its so much easier and faster to control/use a mouse

And also why would you bring up controllers if you're not even talking about playing on console... Why would you play with a controller on PC, ever playing these type of games lmao

Because despite several people mentioning it was better on controller than M&K you continued to ignore it so I went straight to mention it was superior on PC to let you actually understand. Tons of people play to win or have the best edge they can. So why would they run an inferior piece of equipment? Do people not spend hundreds between good headsets, mouse's, and keyboards for good play? Ever consider some people also prefer controller for gaming yet prefer the versatility of a PC?

Honestly I still think even the Survivors movement on Console would be superior, but more of a even trade off compaired to using Controller and Mouse and Keyboard on PC. Like many mentioned the WASD movement in more ridged follow strict conditions and less fluid like the analog stick provides. You have significantly better play and movement with Controller die to the fluidity of that movement.

You're just trying to say theres no advantage with using M and K over a mouse, even though its obvious. Max sensitivity on console is pathetically slow, theres no ######### way that you can play better on console if you're good enough. Just because you play better on console doesnt mean anything

No I specifically said controller is better for survivor I never mentioned anything about using it on a console.

The sensitivity for survivor on console is still quite good, but the sensitivity of the same quality in game let's say both PC and Console are 100 is significantly different. You can preform overall better on PC with a controller then with a Mouse and Keyboard.

  • 110%

As we all know, Hex:Ruin was completely changed in the last update. So far i've only played survivor since then in order to complete that half of the tome II challenges. But I decided to work on the killer side. I played a round as Spirit on Gas Heaven, and boy, let me tell ya.

TL;DR at the bottom if you don't like reading. It wont hurt my feelings if you skip this, haha.

The ruin change has really hurt my fun. I played normally, non-toxic, as if ruin were the same as it used to be, and I got dunked on by these survivors. They played well, but it felt so much worse for me than if old ruin were being used. It stayed up for a few minutes! But that meant nothing because even on a high mobility killer, I had trouble keeping them off gens. I couldn't imagine playing on a bigger map such as rotten fields.

Sure, you can say that since i've only played one game since the update that I can't say anything yet about the change, but I don't think that's true. It took me only 1 game with a pretty good map and skill-matched survivors to realize that this ruin change was the wrong thing.

People have been quite for the past while on the forums, but that is only because they know that the change will never be reverted. There's no point wasting energy on something futile right? i'm going to keep fighting for this - for all the killer mains and players who know that this was the wrong thing.

I think this change couldve been good if it were either a) an entirely separate perk or b) changed after the gen speeds/swf advantage is addressed.

BHVR changed the one solution to a big problem instead of looking at the cause of the actual problem. Ruin was not the cause, it was the only solution. Killers are now being destroyed by survivors with any level of skill just because the devs wanted new players to have more fun. Just because they couldnt hit skill checks. What's the point of spending 100s or 1000's of hours getting good at something just for it to be nerfed to the point that a rank 20 with 10 minutes of playtime could do it?

This game is hard, and it's supposed to be hard. I could accept that when I first started. It was hard, but I got better and sucked it up. But now new players are being babied just because they aren't good at the game in the first 10 minutes.

TL;DR: The ruin change was a bad idea and it has taken away the fun of killers because the fun of new survivors seems to be the dev's priority.

Sorry for the long rant but I really think this change was poorly timed at the very least. This game is gonna lose its veteran and seasoned players because it's too easy for survivors to win now.

A lot of people brought these issues up to the Dev's, but they didn't care and went with it after the PTB. While Public opinion was against it. Even the survivors for it were not a massive majority.

  • Sounds are generally bugged anyways with rare instances when they are not for awhile. Spirit can still do well without sounds and headphones. I know a lot of people who play her while listening to music and they just throw whispers on and get 4k's almost every game.

Slugging isnt outplaying survivors. Its outdoing basic game mechanics and just scummy play as killer. The only thing that needs to be fixed is that slugging shouldnt be possible like it actually is. Its not fun to lay on the ground half the game til a sweaty killer got his "will".

Slugging is great pressure though. It's not scummy and it's not outdoing game mechanics. If it was then why are there perks for it?

I'll slug people solely for the fact 1 person slugged, 1 on the hook, and 1 in chase what can the 4th person really do except get off gens at that point I'm in a good position. I'm sorry that nerfs to killer force killers to actually play outside the conventional means of survivors having fun, but that's how efficient killers have learned to live with it. Also not sorry.

I would say around rank 6 myself, but I agree with the spirit of it. Other compettive games do the same thing by balancing around one of the higher ranks but not the highest rank itself. SWF does mess things up, and they should just have it be a separate system from ranked. And then give killers bonus incentives to play it; such as blood points, and especially shards.

My friend once said the best way to balance SwF would to be after the second person that for each additional person you lose a perk. Making it so a 4 man SWF only has 2 perks each with items and specfic non BP/Chest/Luck offerings locked. While it won't directly solve the issue it would help balance it to a degree. While I dont fully agree with him I also don't think he is wrong either.

I like facing SwF because if there good and I did well I feel good, if I get overly dominated I don't overly mind because the communication was on spot. I'm a tad odd though.

it also helps with aiming ., and like you said turning which would make m&k on killers such as oni, nurse , huntress and billy really powerful against controller survivors

Controller survivors are better then Mouse and Keyboard survivors. You can do some cool stuff on Surv with M&K yet it's inferior in the same way Controller is to Mouse and Keyboard for Killer.

  • @Vetrathene said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1059640#Comment_1059640

Yeah, it doesn't feel like they listen to the community. I understand if they choose not to follow what the community says, sometimes that's the best idea. Sometimes. But it seems like they don't listen to anyone at all except for low rank survivors who feel like they shouldn't need to get good at the game. That may not be the case, its just the perception I have gathered over the years of playing this game and watching what the devs say and do.

Yep can't agree more. Problem is there's no way to balance around both low rank and high rank because skill is significantly different. They should balance the game around 8 and upwards while still making it fair for new players. Maybe putting them into a group of players who have yet to unlock devotion 1. Ofc SwF would take someone without and let them play with killers who do have it if someone in the team has any lvl of devotion.

  • @Vetrathene said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1059630#Comment_1059630

I agree map redesigns would help the balance massively, and I agree its sad they are not focusing on that.

I can only hope one day they might actually understand that the issue is poor map designs and the unbalanced maps. No map should be heavily favored based on size alone or broken mechanics that can be exploited.

Map Design, Killer Bugs should be the main focus and they should skip a chapter to focus in on these issues. Another massive issue is with the community as a whole. With the High Rank VS Low Rank, Killer Main VS Survivor Main, Hours played or Lack of Hours these have the community divided and at each others throats more often then not.

I feel if the community stopped doing this to one another then maybe people could come together to discuss problems and get the Dev's attention. Yet a lot of the Dev's action are also happening regardless of the outcry from players.

  • I've always wanted a 4 man SWF group to try the 4 BNP on one gen outta curiosity.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1059372#Comment_1059372

Saying killers should expect 2 gens to pop before you could do anything is like telling survivors you should expect one of you to be dead before you can do anything. But they don't say that. Its again an obvious hint at thier survivor bias. Because they care more about money then balance. They could still make plenty of money with balance, but instead are going the shady route of just getting new players in, get them to buy some shinys, then either have them stick around as OP survivors or leave as killers. Its like knowing a place of business is bad news when it has high turnover.

At first I thought u were gonna be mad at me from how the post started. Then I realized you actually knew what I was referring too. Ya this is the sad truth. I do agree Ruin needed a rework it was honestly horrible to be rank 20 and face a full build player with ruin, but this was not the time or place to do this in the current DBD. Too many issues regarding bugs, maps, loops, windows, and dedicated servers. Not for just one side, but both.

I have been saying for awhile what needs to happen is a group dedicated to fixing the maps asap. Not just every 6 months, but having them all done before the end of the year. With maps being fixed to a more balanced state. The issues that are real on both sides will be obvious because design flaws in maps kinda cover up a lot.

  • @underlord99 said:

Why dont killers have second perks? like one to spawn another gen to be done or one that resets the exit gate progression

While Killers do have pseudo second chance perks. Only survivors have true second chance perks that can stand alone.

My biggest issue is how the Dev's want to nerf slowdown perks stacking, but don't do the same for the second chance perks in survivors. It may not seem like it, but the slowdown perks are effectively the killer side for second chance perks. They both serve the same purpose of providing you a longer time to either chase or be chased. The tome gained by these perks is what gives you that chance.

Well, you're doing better than I've been doing. I think I played 3~4 hours in the past 30 days.

Half of that time was spent waiting in lobbies, of course.

I'll most likely end up dropping the game come march 13th provided Nioh 2 isn't delayed or a flop. I've always enjoyed what the Souls genre created so I like to play those kinda games. I enjoyed DBD because it gave me a new game, but with that same taste of it's pointless to argue lvl because meta perk build or perkless you can still play the game and win in your skill alone.

It's not decreasing (yet), but it is remaining stagnant. But it will decrease if BHVR doesn't give what the game needs soon to breathe some life in it. Many players are indeed unhappy with the game. "See you next week" on quitting threads aside, unhappy people won't stick with the game as soon as they find the next thing that interests them.

Doesn't even have to be a new game either. I've just gone back to playing Payday 2 again with friends and have been having a whale of a time.

I still play DBD, but where it used to be daily for hours with friends is slowly turning into a match or two every couple days. I've become increasingly more dissatisfied with the game. Yet funny thing is I still find a ton of success as killer even with the Ruin changes.

The rift is way to grindy for what it offers. They threw the contest winners cosmetics into the rift when I feel they should of just given them to every player for free. The Devs are getting greedy and we let them.

  • @Umbrae_pk said:

Don't know what either of these perks do? Keep reading. If you already know, skip to the "🔪" emoji. Pop Goes The Weasel/PGTW makes it so that the next generator you kick after hooking someone immediatly regress 25% of the generator.

Thrilling Tremors blocks all generators not being worked on when you pick someone up.

🔪 So they both seem like good, similar perks. Right? Well, almost. PGTW is VERY strong and it works EVERY time you hook someone. Thrilling Tremors has a cool down. "But so does PGTW!" I hear you add. No, it doesn't. it has a TIMER, NOT a cooldown. There's a difference. The timer gives you the amount of time you can kick the gen.

Let's use an example. I have PGTW active and ready to kick. I down another survivor and hook them. The timer will RESET.

I'm using Thrilling Tremors. I down someone, pick them up, and gens are blocked. The perk goes into cooldown. I down someone else, pick them up, and the perk doesn't activate. Because it's ON cooldown.

This was hard to explain, but I hope I got the point across and that you understood.

Why do you want PGTW changed? It rewards a killer for doing the job and hooking someone.

    @SnakeSound222 said:

How about we make Thrilling Tremors work like PGTW instead?

I'm not against a shorter cooldown because I love TT, but if it worked on every pick up you could effectively with some people's lvl of skill have gens blocked all match.

How am I supposed to apply gen pressure when I'm in a chase? I can't exactly down a person while watching over gens at the same time

No idea honestly. Just bad luck, but the Devs want it balanced around a 2k and expect a killer to lose 1 to 2 gens beforehand. From my guessing though it seems you didn't apply pressure by letting the chase linger on too long.

  • Better Togther, Kindred, Decisive Strike, Iron Will.

  • Dev's said apply gen pressure, switch to surv, or play Civilization. Apparently people are bad killers.

  • Spirit is the strongest when sounds are normal. When bugged I would suggest Hag who oddly is also bugged 🤔 coincidence or a master plot?

Weakest would be a tie between Leatherface and Clown.

People are on a debate whether or not self-care is worth running. It's kind of a meta and, at least for me, a really good perk.

    I use it for 2 reasons;

I hate relying on medkits and my team. Medkits have limited charges and it lasts for two-three heals.

As for my team, more often than not they are just not around or they don't want to heal after a rescue, even tho I know that someone else is being chased. I don't tend running survivor revealing perks and items so it's hard to find them xd.

Self-care has saved me a lot of times and it's almost stable in my build. So I want to hear from you guys, do you find self-care worth running? Is it a good perk?

Let me know down below ↓↓↓↓

I think it's a bad perk not because of how long it takes to heal, but it stops someone from getting points and emblem, it prevents you from doing roughly under half a gen instead, better perks do more. Without Botney Knowledge the perk is legit a waste of time. It's hard countered by other perks that are common in this meta. It had good uses, but more often then naught are outweighed by the bad sides.

As killer if I see someone self caring I see someone who decided to run my favorite slow down perk.

I would highly highly suggest replacing this with IW. I dont bring med kits or IW half the time. People just heal you with experince.

You remember the survivor tutorial where the killer was blocked behind a wall by the entity? That's the survivors real end game here.

Plague with Thana, Black Incense, and apples can be a very powerful killer.

The problem I see with Pig as compared to Oni or Plague is that her power is limited and RNG based. Her stealth isn't nearly as good as GF or Myers. Traps can help her secure kills or delay the game but it's not really up to her.

Oni and Plague build up their power and both get insanely powerful tools when their power is full. Quite a lot like Myers, but unlike Myers they don't have stealth which is why I put him above them both.

Like I said she is a jack of all master of none kinda killer. She may not overall have the same raw power which is what your making the list based on and your analysis, but she definitely makes up for it by having extreme versatility.

You highlight my point when you say she may have all this, but its weaker then X Killer. She's can adapt more than any other killer in the game because while her kit may look RNG based or simplistic a good Pig player can do more then one thing during a trial to keep people on there toes. The only other killer with the ability to adjust mid match is Ghostface, but even he can't do it on command nearly as effectively even if it is faster.

I will never see Plague as a stronger killer. Shes way too RNG based even more then Pig. This comes from a person who legitimately enjoys Plague as long as I'm not against her xD

Either way man I didn't come to ruin your thread so have a good day. I just came to put my personal experince in after playing this game.

I’ve been using Pig frequently and I typically win most of my games with her. Once you start trapping survivors the game slows down in your favor immensely.

Even saying all that, I can’t put her in A tier. You have Freddy, Huntress, Oni, Hag, Billy, and Plague all in A tier. Pig is nowhere near as powerful as those killers.

B tier maybe but not A tier.

I would say she's better then Oni and Plague by far. Well Oni is debatable just because he's like her and takes time for set up, but I say she outclasses Plague by a reasonable amount. Plague is entirely based on survivors knowledge of counters and looping. If they cleanse too early they have a high chance to fail while if they cleanse too late the same is also a thing.

Hag is currently bugged beyond belief and the Dev's refuse to acknowledge it going so far as to tell some Hag mains "that is how she has always been" when in fact she has not.

Glad to see your playing Pig though. Like I said though her real power is the versatility she actually has. While inherently not as powerful as some of the killers you listed she can do a significant amount of things many others can't. Her power lies in the versatility not in raw output of damage.

I always see these threads and I see people posting their tier lists a lot. Here is my killer tier list, I was bored. Have fun.

Pretty standard. Don't feel the need to explain anything other than I do not believe an F tier exists anymore. If there were an F tier it would just be Bubba because he is definitely the weakest killer in the game.

I personally think Pig should be the bottom of A tier. She's not exceptionally powerful, but she's a jack of all trades master of none. She does incredible work of you put the time into learning basics and my experience has definitely proved she is highly underused and underrated for what she can do. Being versatile has it's advantages and disadvantages.

Both of these bring up the point I made at the end.

They need to fix matchmaking as it is rather than just throw an MMR into it and call it "fixed". It will at most stall the matchmaking to what is currently being dealt with (which is trash) or possibly be worse. Matchmaking didn't used to be this way. There WAS a point in time where it actually worked. They need to get it back to where it actually worked over this "fix" they are implementing.

I agree with you yet this proposed system flawed or not is a better alternative to what we have now or in the past. If they removed safety pips I could see rank actually being a real thing. Most of the boosted survivors and killers are people who safety pip over and over until they pip up and repeat. People should either go up or down not stay at the same spot.

ESPECIALLY when survivors are so easy to see and SO loud!

True most people also dnt know how to use the environment to make it so they can hide. It's not brain surgery either. The issue with Stealth overall is is has little reward for it, but if done right is pretty fun. Nothing like a killer never finding you all match and discovering they have BBQ tho.

A long, long, looooong time ago being stealthy worked very effectively, and it wasn't looked down upon like it is now. Now players have to use ALL perk slots in order to be stealthy, and it (most of the time) doesn't even work. Not like it used to, anyway.

In order to be stealthy now, you have to use Urban Evasion, Iron Will, Calm Spirit, Lucky Break, Light Weight, Quick and Quiet, Dance With Me, Poised, MAYBE Balanced Landing, and others I'm probably forgetting about. "So what's the big deal?" I hear you ask! Well, immersed players are too scared to do ANYTHING! If you're hooked, they won't come for you. Generators need to get done? They won't do them. And players who play very immersed generally don't do well in chases, so they ultimately won't be any help to the team in ANY WAY. They'll be too busy crouching around the map with Urban Emersion.

Stealth isn't a thing in the game anymore, not with the survivors breathing like life time smokers! Wether you're walking, running, in a locker, the killer WILL hear you! And that's not even mentioning the super loud grass, footsteps and noises the survivors make when they do an action. Also, the killers have eyes, too. Except Demo, but, ya know?

It's not that stealth can't exist more like people have a hard time doing it.

Have you ever? try the build: Autodidact, Emphaty, Solidarity, spine chill. Pretty fun build, almost insta heal.

Nvr thought of solidarity before tbh.

  • That explains a lot I generally dont enjoy the games they make so I avoid them.

I really don't care about what you play on please my friend don't make lie about entitle is very disgust behaviour

When R* make dukes non exclusive to return players I didn't say other shouldn't get. entitled is saying others shouldn't get just becusee I want keep muh exclusivity for clout

Sorry a lot of people just feel they entitled to have it because they play DBD. My feelings remain the same it was an exclusive item that wont make a return. Would people enjoy it definitely without a doubt, but we as console players didn't make the cut off due to release. With BHVR deciding to try and shorten the exclusives between PC and Console this remains the last true Exclusive and I highly doubt they are gonna budge on that fact.

    Who's R* ?

Yep I just felt it would be nice to console players.

They need to bring something new into the game that is earned the same way that prestige is earned. Something that will make players want to play for instead of just buying it.

I agree, but what should they add? It can't be legacy or something like legacy. I was thinking it would be cool if they added Blue and green variations for consoles.

Considering I'm on PS4 and PC yet it don't bother me then I guess so if that's how you want to take it. Your not entitled to anything, you dont get it because your on console, and most importantly it's an exclusive you personally wont be able to get along with many others. There are dozens if not hundreds of games that have exclusives that won't be returning. Its best to accept the fact and move on.
