Honestly, they should add the revealed mechanic to survivors once they've been hooked once. It would also help detect cheaters. I've had to actually inspect a few maps before sending a report through for wallhacking once, because they changed the location of some lockers, causing me to be revealed in a spot where I was certain I would be safe from aura's and it REALLY felt like they were cheating and hiding it with perks.
Or they should give Survivors the token that their Aura is being red like they got it in 2v8 althroug… most people don´t use this information at all.

As someone who has created a LOT of constructive feedback. It doesnt help.
With this PTB, that's literally killer number 2 that gets free injuries without any skill needed to do so, without any downsides to it. On top of that having an ability like Krasue that on paper sounds fair, but its extremely easy to turn a non-damaging ability into a damaging one.
Plague has free injures, but she's an m1 killer untill she gets her power from a basin, which is limited to how often survivors cleanse. Legion has relatively free injures, but its relatively difficult to use his power to get downs.
Like, imagine Doctor got the ability to use his Static Blast to injure survivors that were madness T2 or higher. That would instantly make him an A tier killer, if not higher.
Constructive feedback has proven to not be the best way of getting change to happen. They literally didnt even adjust the kidnap tech untill outrage on a stream that happened 7 months after release. Despite 7 months worth of constructive feedback, it was 10 minutes of frustrated yelling that got the attention to actually get changed.
And just for the mods: that's not an invite to start yelling for change. But this definitely is a sign that BHVR should streamline their processes again, because this is 2019 DBD again, where yelling on streams worked while forum feedback was mainly ignored. We want 2020-2021 DBD back, where forum feedback actually had notable impact and screaming on stream wasnt neccesary.
As someone who works in IT, I know for a fact that Ghoul should have been a high priority case on the backlog due to how often people complain about playing against him, and due to how often he is being played. Yet he is being treated as if people play him as much as people play Twins.
That alone is indicative that someone either purposely is ignoring things, some stakeholder(possibly license holder) has a lot of influence to keep Ghoul as he is now, or messages never reach the backlog.
I genuinely hope that the license holder is the main reason Ghoul isnt getting changes, because the other 2 are worse.Oh I know what you mean.
It is like Skull Merchant.
I am still standing on my opinion that after the 8 Gen Regression and that you couldn´t be scanned while working on a gen would have been enough. It was constructive feedback and would let her live.
Well the only thing we got were outcrys and she got nerfed out of existance and I think… that was the point were the crying about everything started. You can read this on this forum very often. "New Killer releases" Well give him Skull Merchant treatment.
-
Oh I am not from the other side. I am nearly a full survivor main because I get panik to play as Killer.
But I like to see the bigger Picture or atleast I try to.
I am not sure if the Auto grab is fair but if you would say it should work like Deathslinger or Xenomorph… well you would have people complain about reycled Killer trash. One of them would be stronger at this and so they would call the Killer "Oh look there is the wanna be XY"
-
Most players run BBQ with Lethal. Thats why it is up there.
So I will kindly ask. What build would be okay for you to go against.

Well I don´t understand how my teammates rat me out with a perk, to be a reason to nerf a Killer perk?
They don't.
The default is that the killer doesn't get to see your aura and has to look for you.
The fact that you pin the blame on Distortion for returning the game to its base state is indicative of how much aura reading has been power-crept to be the new standard, to the point where you think someone NOT being high-vis is the actual problem, rather than the killer getting a live feed of your location.
Your entire perception of how the game works has been shifted because aura reading perks have escalated so badly that they foundationally change how the game works.
So… it would be better if all Killers just ran 4 slowdown perks?
Running Aura peerks is nice to get information ofcourse. But you will realize pretty fast that you miss other things. Full Aura Huntress is strong but the Gens fly left to right.
Now you could say… that the Killer could run Hexes… but Thrill + undying + Devour + Penti is hated aswell.
So… we go for an Endgame build? But most people hate noed because it is Skillless…
Aura Perks need to be strong or they will be just not worth it to equip when you could take slow down perks.

Thank you! I'm not trying to say you instantly die, but if he cuts you off from the only loop in the area his cooldown is so short you have nothing you can do combine that combined the free lock on injury its too much of a kit, if it was one or the other he would not be nearly as hated to verse as he is currently
Yeah but that is harder to archive than you think.
I play from time to time with a larger group of friends and you would laugh with which nerfs some people come around without realising that that is the "thing" that the Killer does.
Examples:
- Couldn´t Trappers traps be brighter?
- Why is Wraith so fast when he is cloacked?
- Why do Clowns bottles slow so much?
Well… it is kinda their thing… and to scrap this… even it would be much easier for Survivors would render the Killer roaster as a bunch of M1 Killers.
Btw I am not saying that it is fine that Ghouls CD is that short. But to say "Well he can catch up fast" Is difficult because… if you take him that… he would be a weaker Legion in most of its kit. Well yes he has auto lock in. But without mobility he could only hurt one survivor at time.
-
Both sides are right and wrong at the same time.
Survivors: Is Ghoul annyoing to go against? Yes he is. Is Ghoul a insta death or worthy to dc? No he is not.
Killers: Is Ghoul a strong and funny Killer? Yes he is. Is Ghould easy to outplay or funny to go against? No he is not.

Ofcourse it seemed that the Killer found me first all the time because I was the only one they could find.
Strong argument for nerfing the crap out of the post BBQ aura reading perks because if 'handholding' is such a crime, the aura reading perks are the godfather.
Well I don´t understand how my teammates rat me out with a perk, to be a reason to nerf a Killer perk?
The problem was everyone could take it and it came to the point that everyone has to take it or you have to suffer for selfish choices.
Aunt Edith says: If something is so strong that you have to take it or you have to suffer than it must be op.

My best guess would be stats are not sperated between high and low mmr and people are getting caught getting down with fake pallets. that's why I think Sadako is up there too, due to lower mmr,
Good take but I don´t think so.
Even if low and high MMR would be mixed together… There are other Killers which are much worse to handle in low and high MMR than Freddy.
Sadako played on condem is still pretty strong, as is Twins on full slug or Xenobite with the box.
I can get reasons (even if they are a**pulls) why every Killer could be there. Only Freddy is a mystery for me.

That's exactly why I don't think nerfs and buffs should go off data because I don't think anyone seriously think Freddy needs nerfs.
Vecna being number one wild to me i know his kit is decent but I personally don't see any issues with his power levels and think hes fun to verse
and I see pig up there. nerf pig? 😂Well to be fair…
Pig can be lethal as hell if you go for the head pops. I mean faster traps, slower search, screaming perks. It can be hell.
But I don´t get the grip around freddys lethality.
-
Well maybe I am sleeping on it (no pun intended) but how is Freddy up there?
Did his change boost his KR that much?
Or is it a Twins thing, that only 3 people play him and these are cracked or the Survivors have no clue how to counter Freddy.
-
Well most of the commuinty trys to preach anything to be unstoppable…
Do you remember when people claiimed that Springtraps Axe is undodgeable?
Well…
-
Well if the killer has permanent Aura read…. every Killer becomes much stronger. It is not like this is a Vecna only thing. Pyramidhead could do the same just as an example.
And to be honest. I would still be more afraid of a Nurse with permanent Aura read.

I don´t see your point here.
Yeah Survivors get hindered… so they take a perk that makes them scream?

I just found hilerious some people here downvoting something or complaining to post that even promote the nerfs autor of this discussion proposed without any logical argument just pure incompetence.
Ghoul needs some nerfs but not to be nerfed into bottom how some wish here because blight is on need of nerf way longer since ghoul came into game and people still deffend s-tier blight here and complain about ghoul even its been proven now by comp players that blight isnt just s-tier but he is number 1 killer in the game (like it or not but comp players are the best ones that can deal with s-tier killers so Im with them on this take nurse is just number 2 against top blight she is just way slower once some pallets are broken especialy on spread 3 gens).
I like the over dramatic people. "It is impossible to escape vs Ghoul." Well I guess some of us do wonders from time to time by escaping him and that there is no 2000+ Winstreak with him is because people got humble to not play him.
Is he strong? Yes he is and annoying aswell. Is he in need of a Skull Merchant treatment? No he is not. Does he need fixing. Yes but please not with a sledge hammer.

Its the fact the 'fun' of the 'game' is sucked out with these playstyles. All of them. When did these playstyles become a problem? Why did it suddenly become a problem?
So with that in mind, who would want to play with this being in the game? I do agree the majority of the dbd community is hilarious, but if we're being honest, you know the cheater problem isn't something bhvr can fix. They already pay Easy, so they can simply say 'We did our part.' The spaghetti code, if I had to guess, is a reason a lot of things don't get 'fixed'.
I tell this from time to time and most of the time I get downvoted into oblivion for this but I like you so I will try to tell you why people don´t like certain playstyles in my opinion.
It is the easy solution that many players Killer and Survivors can´t addapt to a new problem without some content creators telling them what to do.
Both sides Survivors and Killers have a Meta we all know this.
Survivor Meta is to finish the Gens as fast as possible while Killers try to hold Gens up as long as possible. We know in an optimal world where all Survivors would stick to gens most of the Killers wouldn´t stand a chance. They would get all gens done before the fourth hook occurs most likely.
So what can Killers do (they need to addapt) and sadly this goes in two ways. Gen Regression and tunneling someone out. Both options are strong and both archive to slow down gen speed.
Now… every Killer tunnels and bring Gen regression and it is opressiv as heck. The next step should be by the survivors. You know that the Killer is coming for you and most Gen regression is tied to hooks (pain res, pop, dms and so on) Now we have two ways to stop this from happening or making it hard as hell for the Killer. By bringing strong loop build or taking second chance perks. Imagine every survivor you met as Killer would run the following. A Big toolbox, Lithe, DS, Off the Record, and another perk of your choice.
Well… you can stay on the same target and eat through layer of layer of second chances they have. Wasting much time but the Gens fly to your left and your right. (We should be at this point btw. but strangely most people don´t want to take this step.) They want to stick to the same build they are running and are suprised that they can´t compete against meta so they want Basekit changes because they are the only way out. But in my honest opinion this isn´t the only way it is the most comforting way. Everything can stay exact at it is now but with extras.
Just to spin the wheel a bit more. If Survivors would addapt to the tunneling, slugging or hit and run would become meta than unbreakable and strong med kit with healing build would come back because you could drop anti tunnel since every killer thinks you are running them and they won´t tunnel you just because they think you got these perks because everyone got these.
It is a game of Rock Paper Scissors every time. But you can´t stick to one and demand that your choice wins against both others.
And Yes… this would be an optimal world and I know this. But if not all Survivors work for the same goal they shouldnt win. Because if only 2 are needed to get a 50:50 Winrate the game becomes unbalanced.
-
No no just fine. But it is much easier to discuss with someone if they are on the same level of information. (I hate the "You are just nostalgic or you are lying because you can´t prove your claims, while I try to explain something that happend in the past)
The time of the distortion meta was one of the worst times in which I played DbD and I tell you that as Survivor main. If I went solo I was suprised. It seemed that every game I was found first by lethal pursuit and I tell you I like a good chase. But its getting suspicious if the hardest tomes for yourself are the repair Gens or hit Skill check ones because you get found first and after that tunneld out.
So I looked for the reason for the increased tunneling and I came to the conclusion. Ofcourse it seemed that the Killer found me first all the time because I was the only one they could find.
I got really frustrated when my two mates which I played with started to use Distortion aswell and most of the time me and the random were dead while they didnt got a single hit all game long while crouching behind a stone next to the gen while I got found by no where to hide 20 miles away.
So… conclusion either they drop the perk or I join them. Well… they didn´t want to drop the perk so I joined them and boy… I can tell you it was a disaster. Either we faced a full slow down Killer and our perk became useless or the Killer dced the second their lethal pursiur didnt went off.
Yes I had Dcs over Lightborn aswell but to be fair. I can understand the frusttration in a Killer more if he plays a build to stack and finish quick chase after quick chase and his whole build becomes useless because of a perk over a survivor which only started the game with the intend to run behind the Killer to blind him. (Just for Information I don´t have much respect against dcs for what ever ingame reason, except hostage holding cheaters as I don´t like to give up.)

My point is more like this. If you bring an Item, Medkit, Toolbox, Flashlight. The Killer can take perks to counter these. Thats the reason why the Killer can adjust their build in the Lobby. Sadly if you would say make Lightborn so that Flashlight saves takes longer you can just readjust your timing and the perk becomes useless again.
I wouldn't ever say that, but I understand your example. If I was to change LB, I'd either make it so 'JFYI Lightborn could be a really strong perk if the animation would play out normally and even give you points for the blind althrough nothing happend.' or put it on a 180s cooldown, with 10 seconds of blind immunity after it procs. Less time on cooldown will eventually make the cooldown obsolete and unimpactful. 120-180 feels good, but I'd love to hear thoughts. Still stops blinds but gives windows of opportunity (hahaha!) to still make blind saves if things happen in quick secession.
The big problem with Distortion was the following. You got rewarded by refusing to interact with the Kill by getting something what helps you to refuse to interact with the Killer. Thats the reason why I like the new Distortion. You get rewarded to deny the ability to read your aura in chase while getting chased. The thing is, most of people who enjoy chase don´t want to lose the Killer because that means the chase is over and so you get better perks to aid you, while someone who wants to hide wants to stay hidden.
If a player wants to 'not interact with the killer', then that's their choice. It will hurt the team (maybe), but if they are focused on being the unseeable gen jockey, that helps the team. But there are stealth perks for that type of play, and its totally viable. a single didgit percentage of players abusing this doesn't warrent and all out war on stealth. Though that seems to be the current page from the playbook.
If I suck at chases, and want to help, I would likely play stealth and do gens. Now comes the individual choice part: Personally, I would also unhook, take chase when others are in danger, and so on. But the stealthy player might not. This is one of the chances you take with dbd. Its either 1v4 or 1v1v1v1v1. This sort of dynamic is probably looked down upon, but I do feel it adds a bit to the horror aspect. Solo'q is just an rng cesspool, but if you love cesspools, cannonballlllll!!
Can I ask you a qustion and get an honest answer of you?
Did you play much soloque while the old Distortion was out?

There’s a distinct difference between torturing other players and torturing NPC’s.
There might actually be some catharsis in doing it to fake people instead of real players.
I know what you mean. But sadly most of the playerbase in DBD Killers and Survivors do forget that the other side has feelings too. Best example for that is Tbags and humping. It is just a silly thing you can do but it can frustrated the other side and all you get to read is a simple "Well they should get tough skin" Thats not what you should say to a person. You can do to an NPC whatever you want (I never seen a Nemesis Zombie in this Forum claiming that it is hurtful to get the fist of god into his face) but I am afraid that the small degree between "Yeah take that NPC" converts to a "Yeah you deserve such thing Killer/Survivor for just existing"

Yeah both things Lightborn and old Distortion took parts out of the game. The difference in my opinion is the importance of that part. Myself only picks Lightborn if I see 3 to 4 flashlights in a round and I am suprised how often Survivors can´t react to this.
Uh… no, I totally agree with this. When I losd into a lobby and see 2-3 FLs its.. well I assume Lightborne is coming.
Now this part is just personal, but if the killer brings lightborne, I am fine with it as my own player. I don't bring blind builds as it's just not my thing. So to me the killer has 3 perks now. If they get value out of LB, damn. That sucks for my team, but it's not like someone was tunneled out. Lightborn can make gameplay quite interesting. Not usually, but it can.
I mean if I use my flashlight (not for the first time) and the light doesn´t get smaller while I shine at the Killers face I run before the pallet breaks. (Yes the Killer gets an Aura read for this but I still make distance.) But many Survivors are really standing there what feels like a good year and do nothing while you are out of the break animation and still shining at you. JFYI Lightborn could be a really strong perk if the animation would play out normally and even give you points for the blind althrough nothing happend.
Agreed. I'd like to say this isnt accurate, but it is lol. Buuuuut! The jfyi! This is the first time I've heard this suggestion, but I kind of like it. I'd love to try it this way lol.
Would the game be better without Lightborn and Distortion. Well I am not sure about this. The Devs buffed lightborn to this state for a reason because it was much worse before. The change for Distortion is most of the time a good change maybe give it more tokens when you get chased longer but to claim that it is unplayable is not true at all (like OP did) You are more hidden against chase orientated auras like I am all ears and such while you can still stack it against Nowhere to hide but you aren´t immune to auras for just existing.
In this position of yours, you are not fine with survivors having a perk that stops things from happening simply by having it equipped. However, you are fine with killers getting this type of perk? That's literally lightborne. Is it the whole '1v4, 4vs16 perk thing?' While a weak assertion, I don't feel you'd use this, so I would be curious to your thoughts? If this is the case, please explain? Ty!
Hot take: Build/mechanic destroying perks/addons/items on either side should get the Distortion treatment or removed.
Mhhh nah I wouldn´t say that its the 4vs16 perk thing why I think it is okay. (Yes I think that Killer perks should be stronger than Survivor perks but it isn´t my top argument)
My point is more like this. If you bring an Item, Medkit, Toolbox, Flashlight. The Killer can take perks to counter these. Thats the reason why the Killer can adjust their build in the Lobby. Well let me put it another way.
If the Killer has Lightborn and you got a Flashlight. You shine at him at the first pallet and see. "Well he got Lightborn" so no use to blind.
If the Killer brings Aura perks and Survivors run Distortion, "well I guess I can just stop using my perks."
There is a huge difference.
Huge diff? Okay, Ill run this scenario. I brought a flashlight in and I just stunned the killer at a pallet. They go to break said pallet and I try to blind. They have lightborne! Now I will likely take a hit unless I pull a 360 from the entities arse. But you're right, I now know they have lightborne. Okay, im still on the same page.
Now in the next match, I bring in old distortion, and the killer.. we'll say they brought an entire 3 aura perks and a gen regress. Or we can do 4 aura, idc. Killer notes they can't see my aura and determines I have Distortion.
So far, they're playing out the same. Here's where we will disagree because you left out so much from these scenarios. I'll run them back again, from my PoV.
I brought a flashlight and tried to blind the killer, it didnt work! Oh, my team mate tried a flashbang… it didnt work! My other teammate, bless their heart, was like the killer and brought an entire build for one thing: blinding. (Champion of light, etc)… and like the killer, the other side countered it with a single perk.
Next, Killer brings same build, and runs into the distortion player(s), then boom, its the same result as with the other side above.
….or is it?!
If the killer brings lightborne, they can shut down an entire set of mechanics designed to help resist the killer. So thats tools taken away from 4 players. Not 1, 4. 1 perk on a killer has the potential to shut down 4 players builds/items/blinding things. To get even half of this effect, 2 survivors would need distortion. To get the value and power lightborne has, all 4 MUST equip it, else it only works at 25% value, which is more than 0.
4 survivors bringing distortion was rare, but Im sure it happened with SWF a lot more. But, Im postulating here.
Even if we disagreed one all of this, would we agree that the game might be in a bit of a better state without such perks? Old distortion and lightborne, if they just fizzled into thin air, would we be worse off?
And as we have seen in the time with the old distortion and as many others in this discussion said. It was a staple perk for rats and became mendetory to equipp if you didn´t want to be found every single time as the only Aura shown to the Killer.
There was a reason Killers AND Survivors wanted changes to this perk.
We've seen an echo chamber really. You can call it what you want, but a source of wisdom it is not. Most of the rats still exist, and don't use distortion. They didn't back in the day. You can claim they did without proof all you want, and I'll just do the same. I've not run into rat types very often in my time on the game, but they do exist. Distortion though? Nah.
Show me a survivor that wanted it changed like this, plz. Like, one who actually voiced and made the effect to do anything you're claiming. Its easy to simply make a statement at the end of a post and leave it at that. But Im the type to call it out. And its Maurice dung. Even killers have said it was overly nerf'd, though this is now a 'bhvr did it' issue, and out of player hands.
Anyway, thanks for the discussion. We won't agree, but I've some things to chew on. Thank you.
I like a good discussion so no problem on that front :D

After reading your formed opinion, I disagree. The comparison is apt. They both remove tools from the other side. They both are 'equip and youre done'. They're both the most loaded perk each side has (had).
Your scenarios are simply cherry picked. Your math regarding perk loadout %'s is not applicable. Distortion is and never was a must have. But as time has shown us, keep piling on all these things and eventually it'll hit bhvr's ears.
Well let me put it another way.

I never said that the game is bad because I like it.
I just said that this community is often toxic as hell and maybe shouldn´t go for a break on a game which is designed around the same toxic things which are topics in this forum like "Harasment of Victims".
There is a reason why Matthew said try Civ5 instead of another Stressful game. It is to give the brain a break and see the human behind the opposite side and not a "I torture the enemy because I have too"
-
I don´t see the comparison between Lightborn and Distortion to be fair.
Yeah both shut down a part of the game play. Thats right but one says you aren´t allowed to eat choclate cakes with nuts while the other says you aren´t allowed to eat cake at all.
Let me explain.
Distortion reduced a quarter of Killer perks and addons aswell. If 4 Survivors picked it it could demolish whole builds by only sacrificing one perk per survivor and they still got 12 perk slots left to use. If only 3 Survivors picked this perk well… the last one will have a funny time to be found all game and most likely get nuked before the others. So it will become a must have perk and since this forum showed me that no perk should be a "must have" perk even if it counters strong Killer tactics which are hated… well… you get the drill.
Lightborn is a fourth of the Killers perk load out and deactivates one item (I won´t count firecrackers because most Survivors won´t go into the match with the intend to save with these while they still could take a flashllight) and some perks which aren´t meta as well.
If you compare these two over the point of "They both take something out of the game" than you can compare oppression with technician. Because both perks give you gen regression when you won´t hit a skill check.
-
Yeah… exactly what this community needs. A game where you torture others and desensitize to human emotions… with lots of lots of gore…
-
A 1v1 isn´t a good idea at all.
First of all it will only spread toxicity, since the Survivor will always lose this mode either it takes 10 seconds or 10 minutes.
The difference is that this will breed toxicity. "Lol noob easy down" or "Lol you took 1.20 minute to get me what a baby Killer"
There is no defined Victory there and even if you would say if the Survivor got chased for 2 minutes and it is a victory for the Survivor it still didn´t say anything about skill. Because if you reach that chase time while only throwing 1 or 2 pallets respect. If you reach it my shift W and pre drop. Well… is that skill? I mean… I could write a bot to do this.

Well another big problem in this forum is that many terms aren´t fix.
My favorite example for this is one of my few Killer games as Chucky.
I had three Survivors on death hook so I got 6 hooks total but I couldn´t find the last survivor. So I took some time to find her while the rest of the team was resetting. I found her and hooked her for the first time. She got unhooked, healed and I came back to hook. Taking another chase with her to get to 8 hooks. She gets down, DS me and goes down 10 seconds later. So I got my eight hook. Before she gets unhooked I sacrifice someone else and down another Survivor. She stands under hook pointing at the hook I down her and end the game with 11 hooks.
Great game for me.
But the chat after the game was fire.
The whole team was telling me that I should unalive myself because I dared to tunnel her out of the game as fast as possible and I should really learn to play Killer.
I was completly buffled.
So we need a fix term of what tunneling really means. If you go twice for the same Survivor at the end of the game. Is this really toxic tunnleing?

OG Ultimate Weapon had some ugly synergy with things like Pig's traps. Opening lockers and just moving between boxes could make it impossible for survivors to get their traps off. My guess is that the change was done to avoid problematic synergies and to scale the power of the perk back a bit.
Well if you belive it or not… Scene Partner does exact the same without the frequency.
But yeah maybe my example wasn´t on point. So let me give another. Phantomfear was kinda hated for the same reason. While it does nearly the same as sscene partner.

Could we maybe not try to make the "aura reveal" perks useless?
This would end in even more Gen regress….
And if someone says all Killers do is running gen regress… than you won´t need Distortion because nearly no Aura read is in play except some addons and they are limited to some specific thing a Killer has to do.

Deal with it, killers also can make survivors scream uncontrollably with Doctor/scream perks. Survivors having access to it isn't a bad thing.
DBD needs more fun, not less of it.Yeah and typcally survivors are annoyed by constant screaming…
Thats the reason Ultimate Weapon got changed if I remember right.
So… I wouldn´t say it is fun for everyone.

Pain Res is too easy to force gen regression when paired with DMS and Grim Embrace. It's not even the perk by itself that's the problem but its synergy with other perks. We need a meta shake so these killers stop relying on the same 3-4 slow downs so just nerf Pain Res, Eruption, Surge, Grim Embrace and DMS to make Dead by Daylight great again.
We had the meta shake up so many times and it always ended the same.
Gen Regression Perks got swapped with other Gen Regression Perks and yeah… This wasn´t liked.
Sloppy Butcher was a meta perk for a short amount of time and got nerfed… which got swapped with a gen regression perk.
Aura Perks were a long time useless because of distortion and if I red this right many players want distortion back not thinking what could that mean… just a hint… more gen regression.
To be fair. My favorite Meta was Ruin Undying. Could it be obnoxious as hell? Oh yes…. Did it solve most of DbDs problems? Yes it did.
It slowed down gens either by regressing or the search for totems.
The Killer had to run away from the hook to get value out of the perks so camping was much less profitable.
And if the Killer found someone on a gen they were more likely to chase the survivor, because while the others were healing under the hook gens regressed.
-
I love and hate this perk.
I laughed more about this perk than I ever should and I lost more games to this perk than I ever should.
-
My bane with Pain Res is the following.
If I play Survivor it will always pop the gen I am working on at 99%
If I play Killer the second the hook button appears 2 gens finished one second earlier and a third one with 2 % explodes.
Aunt Edith says:
Even worse is the feeling if your gen where you are working on gets multible pain Res in a row. Like mates… are you even doing gens?
-
The problem with MMR is you can reach the top way to easy and to decay is hard as hell.
My example:
You start with 500 points.
You get a lucky first game and Kill 3 Survivors because they had no clue what to do.
Your MMR rises to 800.
Next game you get a sandbagger which trolls his whole team and you get a 4k.
Your MMR rises to 1200. Welcome over the magical point of 1000. You are high MMR now and can play from 1000 MMR to 10000.
But the other way around it seems way harder. getting 2 Kills mean yeah no MMR loss.
Getting only 1 Kill and you get a small MMR loss.
It kinda feels like this to be honest.

I don´t like the shift of the suprise when facing him.
When I played Dbd before his rework it was always a strange atosphere in the voice call.
"Someone had Terror Radius yet?"
"No…"
"HOLY S*** ITS MYERS"
Now its more like.
"Urgh… again the Terminator?"
While he happyly shredds through pallets.
I liked the old counterplay against him more. Trying to deny him line of sight was something which always felt different from other Killers. Nowadays you are seen like 5 seconds and he pops tier 3 in your face.
-
I often read in this forum and I think it is always funny to read answers to the question "If you think the other side has it that much easier… go play as them." and the answer which follows is often: "Nah if I play that side my Killrate/Escaperate is always 100%. So it is boring and easy." Ofcourse without prove or when prove follows it could be the account of everyone.
It is funny that some people are trying to hide that they clearly have no sympathy with their opposite side so hard that they don´t notice their own lies.
DbD would be in a better state if 5 people would quque up and each gets a random position. 4 get Survivor and 1 get Killer. So everyone could see what the other side has to deal with.
And just btw. I know there are cracked suvs or killers which are playing on easy mode. But this falls into the category "touch some grass or its way to easy to reach mmr cap.
-
My theory is still that if they try to nerf blight and change something in his code the whole killer breaks.
Would explain a lot.

Clutch plays died with the self-unhook imo. They're too rare and too tricky to balance the game around.
Many things died because people don´t play games out anymore. For every reason people check out of games and it gets really annoying.

They said they are gonna add visible perks in feb-march so it won't be an issue, I hope visible perks will shows current perks status like if player has an activated Deli or MFT
No one cares in Soloque about the perks of their teammates. People abbandon winnable games left to right if it doesn´t go their wanted way. It is annoying as hell.
-
No it is not.
Ping issues are bad and I know it myself.
But demanding things on personal favors to ruin games is never a good idea.
You can see it when the DC penality was removed. Every little excuse was used to dc.
Oh no I got catched offguard. Dodge
I don´t like this map? Dodge
I don´t like the Killer. Dodge
This hit "wasn´t fair" Dodge.
It escalates and will make this game unplayable.

That's why I think they should just revert it at this point. All that 2025 has proven is that their attempts to quantify game mechanics are impossible and they just have to accept that the game is going to operate a certain way until they make radical changes. All of these small little rules are only making things more taxing on the player while doing nothing to improve the game itself (in my opinion).
As much as I think the hook counter and the FC meter being visible are good for the game, it's very sad that that's the best we got out of all of this.
No no the Abbandon Button can stay and it is "goodish" but it can be really frustrating from time to time.
My favorite example to this was a game where I ran Deliverance, DS, Mft and Wglf. One gen left and 3 survivors down. I get hooked, jump off the hook and pick up. Well sadly i picked up three bots. Good come back storys get butcherd.
My point is we need to stop stretching things. Yes they might be not perfect. But if we start to say ping is 80 so you can dodge, the next one can demand "no we need the button when ping is 70" or "No this hit was invalid we should abbandon"
This escalates to much.
-
Could we maybe not demand to overuse the abbandon button?
It was a good idea to implement it to escape from lost games like 4 man slug or all survivors hooked on second stage. But the definition of the abbandon button gets strechted more and more and makes this game kinda unplayable.
-
Sometimes it amazes me that people try to justify cheaters and trying their hardest to make such discussions an us vs them…
Yes Killer is stronger in the low mid and high mid mmr but be real. If you think this PvP game is unfun you would rather deinstall the game or swap the roles instead of "BUYING" Cheats and try to get your account banned.
-
Thats really not a good take…
That like saying you got a perk which instantly finishes all gens when all Survivors are doing one at the same time and argue with "Well no team can pull it off" so this perk is useless…
You need to look for stong perks at the full potential and not the RNG of other Survivors.
-
I was thinking how you could make corrupt basekit without favoring some Killers more than others.
Maybe give it a 30 seconds duration but if the first chase starts it cancels out.

Right? I guess when he dashes he has a bit of speed sure, but it feels like nothing compared to Blight.
And he has a wind up compared to blight… and is 110 ms

What we have now is just half of the man he was before.
And he was only half a man to begin with…
That would make him the quarter man
-
Not sure if this is trolling but… could we not suggest to nerf already weak killers cause they have one single thing?

Chucky is fast?
Did I miss something?

The only point of contention with regards to the skillcheck is the one I mentioned in the other thread too: If you could activate DS whenever, you could wait until the killer has carried you all the way to the hook and thus buy more time.
This can be an argument against removing the skillcheck. Anything else is just survivor-bashing.
Well I answerd to that I think. I don´t want the Button press after the pick up. Just in the animation. You press it it activates. You won´t press it it won´t activate.
