Thats why I said in my opinion. I like strong perks with counterplay on both sides.
-
Boons could have stayed (except the first Circle of Healing for yourself…) in my opinion when the Killer would have gotten shatterd hope basekit.
-
Since this Discussion became kinda popular for some smaller content creators I have a question which hopefully some people can explain to me.
How does removing the Skill Check on DS change the perk to completly broken in the eyes of some Killers? I often red that the Skill Check is easy enough and that survivors which don´t hit it are skillless…? So… only strong Survivors which can loop should use this perk? And newer or more unexpierend survivors should just endure to get tunneld? I am kinda confused…

The main problem with this idea is that Decisive Strike does not affect all Killers equally. You DS against a Nurse or a Blight? You gain maybe 5 seconds of time before they down you again. You DS against most M1 Killers? It's basically game over for that chase.
Add in that with the increased pace of the game recently and a Killer can get hit with a DS while having no intention of tunnelling. In the 70 whole seconds that a Survivor can be on hook (even more with Reassurance, which is stupid if you ask me), plus the 60 seconds that DS is active, think about how much can happen. The Killer could come across a fully healed Survivor on the other side of the map after having hooked a different Survivor, chased a third one off, lost as many as 2 generators and if they down the one they find and try to hook them they get punished for "tunnelling".
DS is already an extremely popular perk and has been since it released. If you want more protections from tunnelling for Survivors, you need more communication options available for solo queues and more incentives for Killers not to tunnel early (like perks disabling when a Survivor is sacrificed, more diverse slowdown options or stronger perks for spread hooks).
The thing I wanted to archive is to punish hard tunneling.
Yes the Killers aren´t the same a Trapper is not a nurse. But tunneling is on all the Killers the same.
If you have an anti tunnel perk equipped it shuold protect you from beeing tunneld.
And to be fair. If you eat two DS by the same survivor you went 3 times in a row for them which is hard tunneling.

Not that it makes the issue better but the question is spinning in my head.
Do many people play Dracula with PWYF at all?

The problem is the killer itself not the perk it only makes sense to Killswitch Dracula
With that logic chests should have been disabled when the pick up bug with streetwise happend because it wasn´t the perk but the pick ups from chests.
Yeah it is a bug. Yes it needs fixing but this isn´t game breaking to justify to remove a Killer from the players.

And the tryhards are still stomping casual players.
Even now, when there’s no separate mode! I mean, even now!
Why do you think separating the modes would suddenly stop this from happening?
The point is, whether Casual and Ranked are separated or not, this has always been happening—and it still is.
Now if you go full slowdown Nurse with full tunneling and slugging there is a chance you hit an SWF which is ready to try to bully the living hell out of the Killer.
But if one of these two either the nurse or the SWF is in ranked some casual survivors or Killer will have a horrible time.

Many skilled Apex players enjoy playing Ranked mode.
Many Apex professional players choose Ranked because they aim for the Predator title.
Similarly, many Valorant players who are confident in their skills enjoy Competitive mode.
Many Valorant professional players aim for Radiant in Competitive mode to prove their skill.
So, what about DBD?
With the introduction of Ranked mode, the top 500 Bright players are awarded the Iridescent (Bright) title.
Rather than meaningless records like a 2,000-win streak in Casual mode,
I choose to aim for Iridescent in Ranked mode.
Yes you do and maybe many others.
And meanwhile others stomp the casual players.

Every time ranked mode is brought up, someone says this. I don’t understand why. Whether ranked mode exists or not, it makes no difference.
Well let me give you an example…
Imagine you are a pro blight player and you try to archive a 2000+ Winstreak
Where would you go for the best chances?
In the ranked mode where most of the people tryhard and could beat you
Or in the Casual mode where you can slug and tunnel as much as you want against uncoordinated teams?
-
Why did my brain try to read this as a poem…
I also noticed this as a solo que player. When I am playing solo I get teammates which are trying anything except gens.
Switching to Killer and I get panic because the match was over after the first hook.
-
The only way I can use my DS aggresiv is by doing the following.
When I notice that the mate which unhooked me is in danger I ran "accidentaly" close to the Killer but run straight to a loop.
If the Killer follows the bait "which shouldn´t be that obvious" I try to loop them without using a pallet, I greed a weak pallet as long as I can and sadly I get stuck close to the pallet when my DS timer only contains an eight of its time.
This is what I understand under using DS aggressive.

I'd love to dig into that first point a little so I can make sure your feedback's noted down. Which role are you playing as and would you be able to explain what's making this feel unplayable?
Ofcourse my friend.
Most of the time I am playing Survivor it is more like a 90% to 10%
If I am in the role of Survivor rhe freeze of pallets by the Killer feels a bit overwhelming if you stay at a 50:50 pallet. You try to loop it just for the pallet to get frozen mid chase. I know this is the purpose for this ability but it feels kinda… cheap espacially against strong anti loop Killers.
The only time I play Killer this Event I was playing Clown on Gideon. And well it was nice to get this hits… it kinda felt like the ability of the anniversery to break pallets from afar. But if the pallet is a strong pallet which needs to be broken it gets kinda frustrating when the Survivor runs… pre drops… and you have to stay there… waiting… till you can break it.
I know these affects are intended. But weak loops become kinda impossible to play and strong "god" pallets feels impossible as Killer.
-
Just let them remove the shield in front of Myers house and give the map the walking Dead Green Filter and it could stay XD
-
Oh is this another the Game will die soon post? grabs some popcorn
I think that the good old Michael will be back sooner or later.
It was exactly the same with Stranger Things. It took a break till BHVR got it back.
So don´t worry.

Well and when all the sweats are in Ranked mode, the tryhards can go in public mode and stomp the casuals.

The two uses will do just two metas first is tunnel one guy and fight through it because if you hook others (counting with the fact that when it will be free it will be used a lot than other meta perks) they can use it agressively so best is just focus on someone who seems to be the “weakling” meaning he isnt good at looping and downing him is way esier than other survivors so ds wont help him that much and forces other survivors to try and help hom creating opportunity for building more preasure by pulling survivors from gens and getting hits or at best slugs while pushing the tunnel, or second meta that is just wider tunneling meaning you pick two survivors (like for exsample the first hooked and then someone who is weaker at looping if you can choose) and go between them and other two just injure or slug for preasure so you dont get ds from those two like you would get if you tunneled just one but ds 60 seconds duration can still hit killer if he gets fast down and hook and goes after that unhooked survivor (choosing less survivorsto hook you are doging meta perks like dead hard, deliverence or even agressive use of ds).
If you swap between two target that is no hard tunneling is it?
And ofcourse you can eat the first DS and slug for the next one. The slugged Survivor can still get use of unbreakable, can be picked up, crawl under a pallet or in the open for flash light saves. While if DS only works once this survivor would be dead on the third hook in the instant.
I try to punish hard tunneling.

Sure, just making it button press would also work. Making skill check bigger should be just easier code wise to do, because that's how it already works.
I think a button press is much better, since it is neither reliant on ping nor can it be ruined by lag.

Would make more sense to just make skill check bigger, so it's not really "skill check", but rather simply an option for you to activate it, but you don't have to.
Yeah but to be honest.
If the Skill Check is so big that everyone can hit it all the time… for what is the Skill Check in the first place?
Just make it that you can press the active button in the pick up animation if you want to hit the Killer with DS.

Nah its more a bug…
The hit validation shouldn´t go nuts when your shot hits the middle of the Survivor.

Hey guys,
First of all, thanks for all these feedbacks.
I red them all and I will try to give some opinions to them.
- Increase the Stun duration: I am completly against this. It is not a good feeling on the Killer side to be disabled for that long. I think 4 is the golden mid. From time to time I thought only about a 3 second stun but a Sprintburst for the Survivor to get into a better position against Killers like Nurse, Blight and so on which would have been archived by its own against weaker Killers.
- Abusing the perk: This is a topic which could be archived right now aswell if all Survivors equip DS. But I think the Elusive State or whatever it was called could be great against using DS to bodyblock and such things.
The most important thing for me is to try to stop hard tunneling. Which the change of 2 charges of DS could archive.
Why do I think this?
Getting hit by a DS is always a slap on the wrist for the Killer. But normaly it means now the survivor can be tunneld for free. If you don´t want to get hit by another DS you just don´t tunnel them.
And as some people claimed 4 DS would be the horror. I think in no game more than 2 DS would happen. The First one if you want to tunnel. You get hit and tell yourself: Damn I need another target or I get hit twice. The other would be if you try to focus another survivor out by tunneling. Atleast now you must change your tactic away from tunneling or you would lose the game.

Hmm not bad idea after you stun the killer you get a 50% speed boost for 3 seconds. Basically just sprint burst
Yeah was thinking about that. It would help the game flow and give you more chances to get to a safe space against Nurse or Blight which you have mad anyway against Killers like Trapper or Pig.
But I am still unsure about that.
-
@BongoBoys said:

What about this the skill check is optional and the regular stun is 4 seconds but if you hit the skill check it adds 2 seconds to the stun.
But if you miss it just doesn't work same old thing.
Not that good.
It feels horrible to be stunned for that long on the Killer side. If you played once with the orange glyph you know what I mean.
Once I thought it would be kinda nice if the Stun would take up just 3 seconds but you get a sprint burst to gain more distance.
-
@tes said:
DS is time wasting pretty a lot. One stun giving like a whole new chance for chase and even stage. Two additional chases forced for killer, maybe it can be “solution to hardtunnel”, but def ignore and doesn’t count many other situations.
Limitations to one use more likely because 4 people can stack it in match. This perk already breaking basics principle of lose chase = lose life.
Yeah I think it is a good step into the direction it only affects hard tunneling.
I thought myself what when everyone runs it. But would this be a huge problem? A not tunneling Killer would play against 3 perk Survivors while a hard tunneling one would get only ds from 1 or 2 people because he can´t tunnel all at once.

I get what you're saying, but that would make a unique exception to the game's standards, while a skillcheck is something survivor players would already be plenty familiar with and would be much easier to communicate quickly. I think a skillcheck is fine, so long as it's huge.
Besides, if the prompt is only available during pick-up, that's functionally identical to a skillcheck with a wide enough margin.
Yeah thats the point. If the Skill Check is so big that you can always hit it why having a Skill check at all?

Thats same as making sprintburst into button press to activate like in 2v8 on escapist class, it will make it strong as hell and it will be almost as its original version where everyone had it and could hit you with it but back then (obsession had ds after first down and then everyone had to reach 45% of wiggle bar and it was full lobby of it) you could drible with downed survivors to the hook to counter it which isnt the case nowdays (each drop is what 25% of wiggle bar) so i dont think its good idea because if it will be just be hooked and the when downed press button like dead hard killers will be punished even for not tunneling (unless its timed but still its gross).
Nowdays it had 60 seconds of time which is time where you wont be able to loop the killer anyway and it more servers as antitunnel, skillcheck isnt that hard to hit tbh maybe if you get lag or some spikes, fps drops from packet loss etc. but other than that its still good perk.
Any player which has some hours in the game will be able to hit the Skillcheck 99% of the time.
The hard Skill Check is only horrible for newer Survivors which are in the most need of Anti Tunnel.
So why should the newer Survivor be punished for beeing tunneld and bringing a perk exactly for that reason?
Sprintburst on command is something else. A Killer can´t do much against Sprintburst on command by his basekit because exhaustion is most likely a perk or an addon. While you can do something against triggering DS, by just not tunneling or slugging.

Most of the players who have invested some time in this game will hit the Skill Check 99% of the time.
The Skill Check makes the perk only unattractive for new Players which need the perk the most to have a chance against tunneling.
So after your logic we should keep the Skillcheck to stomp newer survivors?
Sprintburst on command is a complete other topic. The Killer can´t do something to prevent this by basekit design while he can against DS by not tunneling or slugging.

@Firellius said:

I think the reason is that it quickly gets rid of the possibility of an 'on-demand' DS.
If you could just press a button to activate it at any time, you could have the killer pick you up, walk all the way to the hook, and THEN use it to get off their shoulder, which would be way more effective than current DS.
So I'd say keep the skillcheck, but make it absolutely colossal and impossible to miss.
Not if the Buttonpress is only in the pick up phase.
I don´t want DS to be usable at a certain point, Just easier to use for all people.

they should change it to where the first 50% of the killers pick up animation you have a button saying “use decisive strike” and if you don’t want to use it you can just ignore the prompt. the skill check is there for cases when you don’t need to use your DS yet (teammate flashlight or pallet saving you).
Yeah just make it a button you can press. No Skill Check needed.

I've seen some arguments to the effect of choosing when to use DS being a thing, but even if we accept that, the skill check could at least be bigger.
No reason to skill-gate anti tunnel perks.
It is the only perk which requieres a Skill Check to be used. Imagine a Killer must hit a Skill Check so that Pop goes off.
To be fair I am a fan of DS being usable on both hooks. It would only hurt hard tunneling Killers. Because if you don´t want to tunnel you but do you get a slap on the wrist and won´t do it again so if you don´t go for tunnel Double DS won´t affect you at all.

And I hope they remove the Skill Check for DS.
Be honest to yourself for what reason is the Skill Check on DS?

We're always keeping an eye out for feedback that can help make these forums feel better to use, so I'll be sure to share yours with the team!
First of all thank you very much for removing the pictures. But I have to agree with the others it took very long and sparked fear into the forum because not everyone is mentally numbed enough like me to see such things and it should really be the highest priority to protect the wonderful people here. Yeah they really could be random. How often did I spawn right next to a glowing totem or couldn’t reach it at all because it spawned in some other textures. It always was kind of a gamble for both sides.
But if it worked as intended, it slowed the game down in two ways. The active way with ruin just regressing the generators and the passive way with survivors going away from the gens to look for the totems. It’s the same thing with boons kind of. When they first were released, survivors rather ran around to look for a totem to set them up instead of going to a gen right away. Sure especially CoH was WAY too strong, but it was indirectly also another passive game slowdown.
It’s one of these things I will never really understand when people say generators are going too fast. As a survivor player you got nothing else to do in the game these days so what else are we supposed to do other than sitting on the gens?
Well I often called it Schroeddingers Survivor.
He wants something to do other than the main object but it shouldn´t stop the main object.
-
@Onako said:

Oh god I would love to see both of them back again honestly. These two in combination at least gave you an incentive to do anything else than generators. Going out of my way to look for the burning totems for sure always has been more fun than having an almost finished gen blow up in your face and immediately locked up while you stand there like 🧍🏼♂️
Well many survivors begged on their knees to remove ruin and undying because totems could be kinda random and felt overwhelmt.
In my opinion they were very healthy for the game because the Killer had to leave the hooked area instantly so he could chase survivors away from gens so the perks can work. It also removed the annoying gen kicking.

Solo queue ranked mode isn´t a good idea.
First of all everyone would play for themself which would lead to no gen would be touched at all.
Everyone would rat out others and it would mutate into a hide and seek.
Why take a hit for the others? Why go in if the Killer proxxy camps.
Why try to break the 3 gen if I can hope that my mates die and I get hatch?
This wouldn´t work at all.
-
Hello there,
Perk 1 isn´t well thought through. If you stun the Killer randomly you would gain distance and wouldn´t need the endurance. Additonally it could be abused by bully squads and cheaters I am afraid. Stunning on demand can lead to disgusting things.
Perk 2 is just to optional for its benefit. You would need the ability to sabo a hook, the Killer would need scourge hooks and you must be the first one to get to the basement chest. That all for one silent skill check wouldn´t be worth it.

I don´t like the pallet freezing stuff. Makes the most 50:50 kinda unplayable.

This isn´t true. The mods kinda use the downvotes.
You know I get kinda heated if I am in a discussion and I tend to post a lot in such without drifting away from the topic.
Lastly I got downvoted a lot for my opinion why Killers should have the abandon button in some situations aswell. Suddenly my post didn´t go through with the side warning on the bottom left corner "Your post is under inspectation" or something like that.
So yeah if you get downvoted a lot you get a outtime.

This is true.
But I am kinda sick of it. You know I try to watch the whole picture and try to give improvements. But as soon as these improvements lean to one side i get a 4to1 ratio without a single answer why posts are good or bad.
So you could manipulate your total up and downvotes on this forum and someone who speaks his mind even if his points are total valid could be seen as bad because he got tons of downvotes.

Thanks, for the constructive post!
You're one of the reflected poster here.
I don't know the threads but additionally to your us vs theme accusation you could write why you think that.
There are too less mods for double check every ban I guess. I think you can write to another mod if you really think that something wasn't against the rules.
You don't rly know why the person was banned. And even if it's sarcasm it can lead to a ban.
Disabling picture while the mods are absent is a rly good idea. + don't allow to post pics with new accounts aswell to make it more difficult?
It's sad that this is become a thing because this kiddy gore poster. On the other side it's a good sign that the trolls are getting upset because Behaviour banned them from the game, from the forum whatever.
It's also sad that so many posting under an offensive post against a private person? We should all calm down and those who got a ban just take it and reflect yourself. No one is holding your hand. Youre fully responsible what you write here.
It makes no sense to do a discussion about bans from third, while you can't say what happened.
The gore pics and the hate comments giving only a little view about with what kind of people the mods are confronted here commonly.
Thought for a while that this guy gave up posting but it looks like that he made this a life goal.
Tokens are a nice idea, too. From my view downvote buttons mostly killing discussion and are for people who can't explain their oppinions. Probably those who like easy answers in RL aswell.
I don't care being downvoted and the only one downvote I gave to the one person who wrote that downvotes are a good idea.
Hey thanks for your answer.
It is a PvP game there will always be us vs them. It is in the human nature I am afraid.
But Discussions like "BHVR caters to X side" Without a single word about the posters reason to belive in that claim are only there to kick a tribalism post onward.
Ofcourse I don´t know what happend to @UndeddJester if he said something in PMs or something. I can´t know this but I have red many of his posts and it would not be in his character to go rampage.
I have seen many forums in my life span and it kinda worked that you need some time or aprove to post pictures and videos but it is not an universal fix.
The problem I see with my token system is that you can´t make it that easy because it would still give the possibility to just post a "NO" and then downvote which would flood the discussion.

Let my name stand as the last post.
If anyone except my name stands in recently posted don´t click okay?
