Nah, they dont get it. Its always the same, if one person is unhooked, only that one Survivor exists. So they tunnel and get hit by DS, just to open a Thread on the Forums afterwards.

God what is it with the forums and people making generalisations? It's bold and wrong for you to assume everyone who comes here to complain about DS is tunnelling.

DS has it's issues, that's pretty much undeniable no matter where on the survivor to killer spectrum you are. Complaints to this day about the perk are valid as the perk is still being used for free immunity which as a mechanic is super unfair.

  • Matters on the situation, I never dodge if I'm slinger, other killers I'm not confident with however I'll dodge a squad that just looks like a sweatfest and just exist to bully killers.

  • Out of all of them perks you think tinkerer needs a cooldown? I mean, ok I guess. I would nerf ruin or undying instead of tinkerer as that's what actually makes the build strong and take no skill.

Tinkerer on it's own is fine, hell even in that build it's still fine. Other perks are an issue.

  • It would be a bit odd having it base kit, it wouldn't really fit into the game.

Assuming they got it 100% balanced however id be down. Issue is, that will never happen.

  • I mean, due to the reduction in killer players it should show the devs that bloodlust is still kinda needed. They should look at why killers don't want to play without BL, which is because of bad map design and loop chains.

(Expecting a certain content creator fanboy/girl to say "killers need to learn without BL and git gud")

Personally, I'm only playing deathslinger, like I normally do. I still most certainly feel a change though, I feel like chases against good survivors are taking a slight bit longer. I think there will still be enough stats for BHVR to take away from, not like it'll mean anything as majority of their stats are flawed in one way or another.

You can't "Adapt" to infinites/pseudo infinites the removal of Blood Lust has created.

Remember the one of the main reason why Blood Lust was made was to stop infinites and given that they have returned when Blood Lust is gone means the game isn't ready for Blood Lust's removal.

Thank god someone else realises these new semi infinites, thought I was the only one.

I feel like a stranger with everyone saying it should be gone and saying it would never activate in their games, I'm having countless situations where BL would've helped me, especially around big buildings and W gamers. It's making my chases longer, even with deathslinger.

I'm starting to think people haven't seen a good survivor run a building like coal towers building or ironworks, or chain together tiles on cowshed, or just loop normally on badham or haddonfield.

  • Probably Plague as she comes with infectious fright as well. You might not like the sound of corrupt but trust me, it's a godsend on killers that need it like Demo and Deathslinger.

However if you want to be a Sweaty Stanley and full commit to the Ruin Undying build get hag.

  • Pig, Deathslinger, Legion and Clown.

Clown is still the worst killer in the game by far, but some people make him out to be a "You will lose every game at red rank" kinda killer, when it reality he can do good at red ranks, it's just that you get rolled if you get even a remotely decent team.

  • If a survivor running around a window 3 times in a row and me never catching up due to terrible map design and loop balancing is apparently classified as them being "better" than me and "outplaying" me then jeezus christ.

Looks like ebony spirit players are the best people in the game by that logic.

  • I wouldn't of minded if they changed the condition of the perk, as that is really what makes it weak - not being able to have a foresight or a bit of control when it activated. Maybe on every down or hook you get a token.

But ehh yea, they kinda just nerfed it for no reason.

  • Uhh, ngl I don't think getting beaten by a Ruin, Undying, Corrupt, Thrill spirit with an ebony shows that the other player was better. Just saying.

  • Na he's pretty boring tbh, it's either you're looping him and he can't do anything, or you're in an uncounterable situation and gets a free hit.

    Not an issue though.

  • Almo streams, I like lurking in his chat.

I have a better chance of convincing the midnight console swfs that dbd is a casual game than I do convincing my mum that monopoly also is one

Anything but the god damn midnight console SWF. Especially the ones with randomised names like QZ_EBR- (maybe that's just a ps4 thing).

I'm trying to have a chill night and boom, 4 DS UB with an object.

  • It's funny, I find a lot more killers than survivors sweating pubs. I thought it would be the other way around.

But yea I wish there wasn't as many people sweating from both killer and survivor, just kinda makes the game unfun when you play against a ruin undying spirit or a 4 man DS UB squad.

  • Lets say a very common situation, you are just about to turn a corner and he fires where you would go, but you dodge. That is you predicting correctly and winning a mindgame, NOT him "missing".

Also, it takes him 0.15 seconds to ads, then the travel time. Nowhere near a 60th of a second.

  • I think power struggle could absolutely do with a slight nerf as it seems waaaaay too powerful in SWF when combined with flip flop. I would rework it to being able to drop the pallet after being carried for 5/4/3 seconds. The other survivor ones seem fine aside from the amount of keys that are going to be found, but that's more of a key problem than a perk problem.

I would like Coup de grace to get a buff so it activates after every hook, id understand however if they didn't do that because it looks pretty absurd on some killers. Oppression might need adjustments especially because 3 gen sniper doc exists, but we would have to see how it plays out. The chest perk is literally a meme perk so it's fine.

  • Nowhere near as problematic as people push it to be, but it is still an issue.

Especially the SG, UB, DS combo.

  • It's a hard question, as both sides best builds come from many perks combining to make a super strong effect.

When it comes down to it though it'd probably be a nerf for DS or undying.

Nurse is a special case because her skill cap is so high. The very best Nurse players perform on par with the very best players of other top-tier Killers.

Pigs kill rate is high for a few reasons:

    1. She's easy to pick up and use by anyone
    2. She stomps noobs easily with traps and stealth

I wouldn't say pig is bad, id say she's the definition of "meh". She isn't up there though because she's good, it's because of the reasons I listed. Same goes with freddy, he is incredibly easy to pick up by anyone and has lots of good tools.

One thing is, you should never take if a killer is good or bad depending on these statistics which are flawed. You cant just say that pig doesn't deserve buffs because she has a high kill rate and also say that nurse doesn't. Pig isn't up there because she's good, it's because of other reasons, much similar to nurse who is lowest not because she is weak, but because of other reasons (high skill cap).

Edit: Also we appreciate that you interact with the forums :), rather have an open dev than a silent one.

  • I don't really think the rift is that grindy. I've been grinding different games while still playing DBD in the meantime and I'm tier 27 with all of level one done and a bit of level 2. I'm still going to get 70 guaranteed assuming I get a tier a day which isn't hard with challenged.

I think too many people expect the pass to be completed quickly, which I find confusing. It's designed for 70 days and should be completed in about 60 - 65 assuming challenges and casual play.

Also, if you don't think you can complete the rift, please don't buy it unless you really want a cosmetic or you plan to pay for tiers (which you really shouldn't do).

Those are the only 2 feasible ways to play against him, yes. It's dumb but...hell idk I can't even be bothered complaining about this killer anymore. Anyone who thinks he's fine turn into brick walls and refuse to acknowledge your opinion of Slinger being boring, and will go to unfathomable lengths to tell you why you're wrong, and anyone who thinks he isn't fine have exhausted all their talking points to death now trying to get through to said brick walls.

Honestly I don't even hate Deathslinger anymore I'm just numb to it at this point and no longer care.

I'm not against people finding deathslinger unfun, never have I said and hopefully nobody else has said that everyone must enjoy versing him. I find Billy, Pig and Myers boring as hell for my own reasons, and I fully expect some people to hate slinger for valid reasons.

One thing I do complain about and do have a problem with however is people refusing to get better against him and spewing out lies such as the "he has no counterplay" argument. He is basically just a bunch of 50/50s at loops, he is no where near the extent of no counterplay which in contrast is old Legion.

Also a bit of generalisation there, saying anyone who thinks he has counterplay is completely stubborn. I'm fully open to people to say how he does have counters and if anyone can prove to me how he is literally old Legion, go ahead. From my time as maining him however, I know he does have counters both in chase and out.

  • Eh, it's annoying seeing everyone say "no counterplay" without being bothered to learn to play against him. There is also a threat of him being nerfed because people are bad.

Plus I saw a certain streamer make fun of a slinger player because he plays slingers in tournaments. This was done to his 1000 viewer chat. Then asked chat how much they hated slinger and chat responded in the usual way.

Great to see we have some very nice streamers for the game who totally don't stir toxicity in the community for simply playing a killer.

  • I knew this would be brought up eventually.

Hit and run is boring for survivor as you don't get any longer than a 30 second or even 20 second chase. It feels crappy just seeing the killer bail you whenever you get to a pallet or really only hit you when you can't do anything like in a deadzone. The issue is that the killers have to do it because leaving 2 to 3 survivors doing nothing for upwards of a minute can throw your game.

It's why I want longer more interactive objectives, so killers can actually have long chases without being punished as hard as they do now. Along side balanced maps.

  • Honestly I really would not prefer that due to the fact badham exists and map offerings.

It's situational AF I know, but Id really not have an infinite window opened on an already extremely survivor sided map. Same goes for dead dawg except it's more balanced and not survivor sided.

If walls were rebalanced, then yea Id like it. Hell Id probably even want it as a base mechanic.

  • If you find making other people feel bad about themselves "fun", then you really need to rethink how you enjoy things and possibly consider another hobby, eg playing single players that don't involve interacting with others.

This applies to everyone, no one is excluded.

  • Toxicity doesn't come from the build, it comes from the player. You can run that build you are running and still be toxic, it just matters how you play. Just as much as you can run a build that is deemed toxic, and not be toxic at all.

  • A pyramid head kinda killer. A pretty good chase power similar to docs, slingers, etc, but also has a unique gameplay factor like PH cages.

  • As an FYI, just because a killer is unfun to go against for some people, doesn't mean they want them changed or nerfed. I'm sure OP realises that wraith is not OP and in fact needs buffs, he just doesn't like versing them.

I hate versing Myers and Billy, yet I know they don't need nerfs. People can have opinions and there is going to be at least one person who hates a killer even if that killer is classified as "fun".

Fun is subjective, so if mr big strimmer said that lets say "Demo is fun", that is their opinion. NOT fact.

  • Chains of hate and Demise of the faithful were the best for me.

  • Freddy is easiest by a mile. Other than that it's really who you feel comfortable using. EG for me I am absolutely terrible with setup killers as I'm not used to them. However, if you are comfortable with them then hag is a good choice as well.

Honestly, Id play who you feel is most fun despite their viability. If you manage to like a top tier killer then that's just a benefit.

"It's just words" is a pretty ######### thing to say. People can get hurt by words, and it can actually be incredibly damaging to someone's mental health. Being called a ######### day in, day out is pretty crushing to your self esteem, for example, and bullying is a serious issue among current young people.

There's already a negative stigma surrounding mental health, that anyone with mental health issues are weak and useless, that it's inferior to physical health issues, that it's not an issue in the first place. Please don't perpetuate this further.

I'm copying this comment for whenever somebody says bullying is "just words".

Thank you for a perfect comment.

  • It would be kinda cool IG if they shifted a new chapter out of the way to bugfix and buff older killers that need it. I know a lot of the old killers are currently a buggy mess, especially with their animations.

However, every time someone suggests to push new content aside, you always get 2 responses:

"But they are 2 different teams working on new content and old!", and

    "BHVR is money greedy".

I wish they would get some of the people who work on new content, and make them focus on refreshing old content instead because let's be honest, killer changes and killer bug fixes happen WAAAAAY too slowly.

Demogorgon can break pallets with his shred. If you drop the pallet he'll just break it with a reduced cooldown and it's like Leatherface all over again. Deathslinger can pull you around loops and injure you over pallets even if you drop it so that doesn't matter, and PH has the same braindead "mindgame" at pallets and windows. And of course Hillbilly was overtuned? He had a literal instant instadown with just one addon, infinite speed and mobility, and no limitations on his power whatsoever. He can just curve if you're trying to loop him (which he can still do) so I don't see your argument.

Demos CD after breaking a pallet isn't as short as Bubba, it's actually quite long and still gives you an opportunity to get to other tiles assuming decent positioning. Due to his portals having waaaay too much set up time, they actually give him only a bit of pressure, meaning you can throw pallets willy nilly with no punishment as all the gens should be done in time. It's the main reason why he's still regarded as mid to low tier.

PH and Deathslinger go a lot deeper than "he'll just drag you around loops", LOS, types of loops etc etc.

If you knew the curves and were constantly in good positions, Billy could never instant down you until you were in a deadzone or until you were in a Lose Lose which rarely happened. His viability was and still is carried by his mobility .

  • Uhhh have you thought about maybe not vaulting a window in front of a DS/PH/Demo? There is this other resource on the map called pallets that pretty much hard counter some of these killers. You should use them.

As for Demo balance wise, as long as they tune down his hitbox so it isn't complete BS id be fine with rat tail and liver being base kit, plus a hitbox when shredding off of a building for some meme shreds.

Also, hillbilly overtuned? If anything id say he was overrated. People claimed you couldn't loop a good hillbilly yet he was easy as hell to loop and pretty much the only thing he had and still has is really good mobility.

  • Most recent cheater I saw was before crossplay was introduced, a legacy claudette hacked their way onto PS4 servers (the platform I play on) and had all kind of cheats. She was flying, insta healing, you name it. Me and the other players including the killer who were all PS4 were pretty baffled to say the least.

EDIT (sorry for crappy image. This was BEFORE cross play was even announced).

If you think a Survivor sliding around like it's an ice level on Mario and slowly changing their orientation to move the other direction is "absurd" strafing speed then I don't think you've ever played an actual FPS game in your life.

I never struggle with Slinger shots unless I'm tired as hell or turning my brain off—which I usually am when I'm playing Slinger because he's just that easy. Straight up, I find it more challenging to win a bow fight in Minecraft than to hit Survivors as Slinger. He's not hard to aim. At all.

You want a Killer whose shots are difficult to aim? Try consistently hitting good Punishment attacks as Pyramid Head, or landing Lethal Rush hits as Blight. Then get back to me.

Survivors can literally strafe in about quarter of a second, literal frames. Not saying it's a bad thing, it's just that you usually don't see characters strafe at that speed, especially when we are talking about trying to hit them with a needle sized hitbox.

Saying Survivors have clunky movement however is absurd and just wrong.

Also what's your point? How does aiming NOT take skill? Ask anyone that plays an FPS and they'll say that quickly locking onto a target on your screen is skill, which is exactly what deathslinger does.

    "the legion requires map knowledge"

The only "map knowledge" you need as Legion is "is that Survivor far enough away that my Frenzy won't get to them?"

"and a lot of juggeling skills while not doing it too much or you will lose"

Implying Legion can actually juggle with his negative mobility and useless power.

    "and slinger is slow"

    Okay.

"he takes skill in you know the shooting part"

    LMAOOOOOOO

Homie, this is Dead By Daylight. Survivor movement is slower and clunkier than Halo 3. Aiming and mechanical skill is less demanding in this game than any other game I've played. My dog can hit Slinger shots like a seasoned sniper.

"reeling his spear is a mechanic a lot of people get wrong too from what i can see"

So, what you're saying is, most of the playerbase is beyond stupid? Tell me something I don't know.

My god this post. Imma just talk about slinger cause I could make an exam styled response on this.

Homie, this is Dead By Daylight. Survivor movement is slower and clunkier than Halo 3. Aiming and mechanical skill is less demanding in this game than any other game I've played. My dog can hit Slinger shots like a seasoned sniper.

This is completely incorrect and it shows you have never played slinger at a decent level. Survivor strafe speeds are absurd and is what makes deathslinger actually hard to use along side his tiny hitbox on his harpoon. Try to hit a survivor in a deadzone while they are constantly strafing left and right inconsistently.

You can't. Unless you get that 1 in 20 god shot by complete luck.

Slinger takes aim and prediction which takes skill. idk how that isn't the case.

  • The only killer I've found it good on was deathslinger, but even then, sloppy still felt better due to it applying to every hit.

Plus, the anti heal meta is rampant nowadays, there's really not much point in healing in the first place against majority of killers. The only few killers it could be good on is Nurse, Spirit, Slinger, Hag, and possibly Pyramid. Maybe some stealth killers as well like GF. Healing is just wasting too much time against killers with weak chase powers.

I will say, it is very fun on slinger as the harpoon counts as a protection hit. I've had like 3 active FP at a time, felt like I was playing Legion.

I feel that there is another not widely known problem with DS that no one is talking about. Its the fact that DS is not a good anti tunnel perk. This is a problem because any suggestions that a person makes to change DS into an anti tunnel perk falls flat when you realize it doesn't do its job well.

The fact that a person has DS isn't a good deterrence for killers to tunnel. When its used on the killer they can still tunnel the person afterwards especially if there is nothing to stop them from doing so. A 5 second stun for the most isn't enough time for the survivor to get away before they are back on their trail to kill them. With this problem any attempt to make it more of a anti tunnel perk will fail until this issue is also addressed and resolved.

DS is a great anti tunnel perk wdym. If a killer tunnels you he has to either wait 60 seconds each time you get unhooked, on top of any chases you put up, or eat the DS to basically give you another life.

I've wanted to nerf DS's anti tunnel ability, cause when you're at 1 gen left (because maps and gen speeds are still absurd), you basically have no option but to get someone out of the game quickly by camping or tunneling. Of which DS screws you over and camping isn't that effective unless the survivors screw up.

Making DS better at anti tunnel buffs SWF SWAT teams, which is something you do NOT want to do.

  • Prediction - predict where shots could be, but don't get ahead of yourself trying to dodge EVERY possible shot.

Positioning - Hug main buildings that block LOS and W game as much as possible. Try to not get caught in lose lose situations like at LT walls and deadzones.

    Stealth - It's stealth. That's it.

Genrush him - Has the worst mobility and pressure in the game so very easily gen rushed.

    Honestly,i wouldn't even call Ruin+Undying matches boring.

Killers using this combo means that there should be a lot of survivor and killer interaction, which is the most fun in this game isn't it?

Not really, because the way to get usage out of ruin undying is to constantly bail chases until you catch someone off guard or in a deadzone.

This leads to "oh hey, are you actually good at chases? Well I'm never gonna let you have a decent chase with me because I get a broken amount of pressure by doing hit and run".

Seriously, hit and run is so boring as you never get an actual good chase with a killer, it's why I hate stealth killers.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1720866#Comment_1720866

And what's wrong with that? Pretty much every other killer in the game has clear counterplay, and gives the survivor the ability to outplay their opponent. Huntress ranged attacks have a clear indicator they will be used, same with demogorgon, same with pyramid head. Nurse ranged attacks can be juked by players who are familiar with her blink charge times. The only two killers I feel like give the survivor absolutely nothing to do are the deathslinger and the spirit. Oni to an extent if your team feeds him blood fury.

Pyramid head got changed because getting feathered to death by someone faking the attack is cheap, and it's still a mechanic very present within deathslinger. I'd be alot more OK with him if he wasn't able to keep spamming ADS while chasing you.

Huntress has a clear indicator when they have the availability to be used, not when they WILL be used.

You cannot make something like a deathslinger shot reactable to as survivors will just dodge it 100% of the time. That's just absurd.

You can still dodge a deathslinger as long as you predict correctly, similar to a TL wall.

  • Bit off topic but I have no clue what they're doing with map reworks. They're buffing already survivor sided maps and nerfing balanced maps.

Eg, groaning storehouse is pretty balanced, a bit on the survivors end but still easily in the top 5 most balanced maps. Now it has no pallets in the main building, a breakable wall which is an instant break and 2 possible semi infinite windows. Like if they had just blocked off the second window, added a pallet back in and kept the wall id be fine but they didn't.

Now badham, some of the loops were buffed, a ton of breakable walls were added and the only slight "nerfs" we got was the killer shack being nerfed a bit, 1 pallet out of the house of pain was removed and a wall to stop the fence loop was added (despite you still being able to loop the fence given enough distance). Badham was already very survivor sided, now it's pretty much an insta loss against a good team.

Overall yea, I think they should look at most maps again and balance them accordingly.

  • What is it with the flood of new accounts asking for the DC penalty to be removed?

Anyway, DC penalty needs to stay, if you can't hold your internet long enough to play a full match, blame your provider, not the game.

  • Few issues with this:

    1. His instant ADS is the only thing he has against good survivors. Making it not instant pretty much kills him unless you are willing to make his movement speed while ADS about 105 to 110%
    2. Idk why you would want to be able to W game against him, that's just boring gameplay from both sides.
    3. Good buff Idea, but right now he really shouldn't be changed. He doesn't need a buff or nerf.

I mean, this is one of the better suggestions for him, but if he isn't broke, don't fix him. And right now he ain't broken.

In the face of the recent trend of criticising certain practices and people, I think there are things that need to be cleared up a little.

It saddens me to see so many users penalised and posts removed. It appears that many people fall for a misconception regarding the way things are operated.

Please, don´t assume that everyone is subject to the same rules and standards. We as customers are just guests here in the forum, for example.

Some are free to break the rules of DBD. They are also free to act in a toxic way, to hurt others and to get them banned, unpenalised as they please. There is nothing you can do about it. You may dislike it, but you may not bring it up if you want to continue being part of the community.

Most of what has been brought up recently is already known by many people. All that is achieved by posts addressing certain issues is the poster getting banned. Some things have to be discussed elsewhere.

The forums have much more to offer. Personally I really enjoy being able to interact and exchange opinions with other community members. There´s great stuff to read here. People looking for help or advice usually get these in an impressively nice manner.

Please stop criticising the wrong people, it´s neither news nor will it change anything about the way things are. Let´s instead focus on productive or engaging things that are allowed, we are not entitled to fairness.

    Just my 2 cents

Just going to bring up some counters with some of the statement you said.

Please, don´t assume that everyone is subject to the same rules and standards. We as customers are just guests here in the forum, for example.

Nobody (from what I've seen) is expecting everyone to be under the same rules. However, what we are expecting in a community is ruled depending on your status. EG: If somebody who has no correlation to the game is toxic, then it's not a massive issue. However, lets say, a fog whisperer is heavily toxic, then that's an issue. They should not be promoting a toxic playstyle to the community and people entering the game period. ESPECIALLY since to be a FW, you need to have a overall welcoming attitude.

    (Taken from the DBD site):

    image.png

Some are free to break the rules of DBD. They are also free to act in a toxic way, to hurt others and to get them banned, unpenalised as they please.

Why should they especially considering their status and what they hold to the game? and when these "rules" are made by BHVR themselves? Same example, if a fog whisperer is openly being toxic, why should they stay a fog whisperer when they clearly are having a negative impact on the community? Easy answer: they shouldn't.

There is nothing you can do about it. You may dislike it, but you may not bring it up if you want to continue being part of the community.

We should be able to bring it up as constructive criticism, as I have here. I have not crossed the line of insulting or name and shaming. I have simply brought up current issues while abiding by forum rules. This is constructive, and if this post get's me banned despite me breaking no rules, then we have another issue.

(Just as an EDIT: I understand that people are crossing lines, by insulting, I haven't done this, and I have tried to get across what people are trying to say in a constructive manner.)
