  • If that's your argument, you do realize they're already in this game right? Like almost all of the killers seem willing to kill children but specifically Huntress hung children until they suffocated or starved to death and Freddy was murdered by a mob of people because he was a child killer (and in the original script he was a child molester).

  • Not really, all killers who break pallets with their power do so immediately, they just have a stun after. It's pretty easy to assume that it doesn't apply there.

  • To put it pretty bluntly, all the meta perks for survivors are second-chance perks that reward survivors for playing poorly. Survivor got downed too quickly after being rescued, ds it up but if the killer realizes that and slugs you instead, unbreakable always got your back. Chase started in a poor spot? Sprint burst will take you right where you need to be! Need a last second boost? Adrenaline will make sure that when that last gen is done, you're ready to go! Made a mistake during chase? Dead hard will correct no problem!

The point I'm trying to make is that almost all survivor perks reward the survivor for playing poorly, of course if a killer is genuinely tunneling then perks like ds and bt are needed, but most of the time survivors just simply abuse these perks in order to waste the killer's time. That's why i think survivors hate NOED, it rewards the killer for playing poorly and is one of the few second chance perks (I don't include end-game perks that need requirements to be met like bloodwarden).

On the other, Killer meta perks make up for the weaknesses of them. These are needed for some of the biggest problems survivors take advantage of. Gens getting done too fast and the devs don't make anythings besides perks to fix it? Well ruin, corrupt, and pop are all there in order to help you keep them from getting done at supersonic speeds! Time is always against you causing endless stress? Well whispers and bbq will let you know how to most efficiently use your time! Your killer is trash and has no chase potential? Don't worry old chap, enduring and spirit fury will make sure you're not in one chase for half the game.

You see my problem here? Any perks that don't fit one of these criteria's are considered to be bad perks. Also nerfing bbq would just straight up be a bad idea, it encourages the killer to not camp by telling them where to go next.

I'm talking about Killers that can use their abilities to break pallets....

As far as I'm aware no, nor does it need to be. Those killers already have an ability in their moveset to quickly destroy pallets, you should not be running it with them.

@LazyPayday What was your idea for a Legion rework?

You can check my discussion I made on it. It's pretty mediocre and I made it a while ago.

  • @DBDude said:

So on this forum post I would like to suggest a Legion rework idea, and hopefully this concept go's out according to plan.

So before we start, let's admit that Legion ain't that fun, and when The darkness Among Us chapter got announced, we thought that Legion would have been a Legion of killers, but then we ended up getting a very boring killer power instead. So this concept is a Legion rework idea I had for quite some time, so with that out of the way lets begin.

So for power we are going to completely scrap Feral Frenzy, and instead replace it with a power called The Legion, pretty simple name for a power.

So what The Legion does is allow you to switch through all 4 Legion members in a match, Frank, Julie, Susie, and Joey, with each member having there own strengths and weaknesses.

When switching to Frank, you have the ability to Vault pallets and windows whenever you want to, taking 0.9 seconds to do, and when vaulting any survivor within 10 meters will have there aura revealed to you.

( Oh and quick side note whenever you switch to a Legion member that would take up to 5 seconds to do.)

When switching to Julie, you move at a 120 percent movement speed out of chase, and move at a 110 speed in chase, but when in bloodlust 1 and 2, hitting a survivor will give you a few seconds of 115 movement speed and in bloodlust 3 you get 120 movement speed. And please note that when out of chase, your bloodlust bar stays the same if its in one or 2, but if at 3 then it will reset.

When switching to Susie, you will have the ability to crouch and CLIMB over objects, but climbing would mean that Susie could climb over rocks, loops, and all that but nothing like climbing on to the balcony of dead dog saloon. And just to note is that it takes 0.9 seconds to climb over objects.

When Switching to Joey, you have 110 movement speed, but any basic attacks you do to a survivor would make them result in one of the following effects.

    Blindness.

    Broken.

    Deep Wound.

    Exhausted.

    Hemorrhage.

    Hindered.

    Mangled.

    Oblivious.

So there you have it, those were my ideas for a Legion rework which in my opinion will really make Legion one of the most fun killers in the game.

And here I was thinking I came up with a cool concept too but no one responded to my Legion rework.

  • No because I can barely fight competent survivors with him as if. I play on console and he's one of the least console friendly killers.

Killer just doesn’t feel fun anymore, the gens are flying so damn fast my totems spawns are hot garbage and it always ends in getting teabagged. I just want some tips on how to get enjoyment out of killer as its my favourite role and its just becoming more and more annoying to not be able to apply any pressure and to have games that last 5-7 mins.

    Thanks to any who help

My personal tip is to only play for short periods and take long breaks. Just keep an eye on the game for any events or if there's a new killer you want to try. The game becomes less and less fun the more you have to sweat to barely win. This game isn't good for competitive nature and wanting to play killer, it's only endless stress.

  • @Seraphor said:

    I guess I got lucky?

I just started playing Pyramid Head because his daily came up, and I got it in a single match.

I just dropped my knife when in a loop, survivor was forced to run through it, and I AoE'd them down through the pallet/obstacle.

Obviously whether or not hook/cage is more beneficial is situational, so I can understand how in some cases it may be less optimal play to do so, but it doesn't seem that hard to pull off.

The more you play him, the more you'll realize it's just better to save the torment until final judgment. You only wanna cage when you know they have ds, another survivor is around ready to save them, or they're on a gen that you have to stop. This makes it incredibly situational, to get four of those cases all in one match is not likely. Sure you might save a bit of time always caging them, but then you no longer have any access to hook-related perks and you don't decide where the survivor ends up nor can you punish survivors for rescuing them. There's a solid chance they just spawn on the opposite side of the map right next to another survivor and you immediately lose any pressure you would've gotten from hooking. Also final judgement is just quick and satisfying, plus if you need to you can just tunnel someone on their second stage immediately after rescue to get them off the game quickly.

My point being is that there's not many scenarios where the cage is better and you have to lose the chances where it is in order to complete the challenge quickly in most cases, causing it to be a daily that is actually detrimental towards your play rather than challenging your skill with the killer.

  • @MadLordJack said:

Yeah, absolutely making sure that one poor person cannot get the escape they probably worked their butt off for because the killer wants to secure a kill they really didn't earn is totally fun and fair. I have no clue why anyone would ever complain.

It is the killer's job to kill the survivors, they aren't some poor victim if the killer does that. Also what if the killer worked really hard too? Had everyone on death hook except for the only survivor they got, are you implying that in all scenarios the killer doesn't deserve a kill just because survivors completed all the gens? To turn that on its head, shouldn't hatch be removed then since it rewards the final survivor a chance at escaping even though they might've not earned it? Your argument is clearly biased. It's not the killer's job to make the game fun for you, survivors run all sorts of combo's and tactics that stress killers out, but it's good for the survivor so there's no problem? As for fairness, I don't see how it's not fair, they won the chase and now have no other objective than to kill.

Alternatively juat don't even bother with end game chat, it's just garbage.

Or simply don't fight toxism with toxism. It's better to have a debate until they regret even messaging you in the first place.

  • How can I share the same opinion that Billy didn't need to be nerfed like you? It's almost like that post didn't exist considering how much you whine about killers being too strong.

  • You haven't played this game enough man, come back when you actually know what you're talking about.

  • Killers who realized there's a teammate being a scumbag and throwing the game for his own points or something and actively targets that person. I do it whenever I kill and I respect whoever does the same.

  • It's a relatively short story. I used to have an account on my PS3 called Rapture's Bid Daddy or RAPTURES_BIGDADY, but one of my friend's accounts got taken somehow and they managed to snag mine too since I was naive and trusting. I made an account called Payday2_Fan (it was the game I was playing at the time) as sort of a casual account that I'd just watch Netflix on until I decided to make a new account. I started playing on the account and never stopped, leading me to getting used to it and especially getting used to being called "Payday," so when it came time on the PS4 to finally allow us to change our name, I wanted to keep the word "payday" but get rid of everything else and my friend recommended "LazyPayday," I like to leave it up to interpretation what it means but only one person has seen it the same way I did. Ever since then I've used it for most sites, but use the obvious pun of "masonry" on more social sites.

  • @ProfoundEnding said:

The devs made this decision under the idea that they didn't want to leave anybody out and have no intention to introduce exclusive cosmetics. That's one reason most of them were given to everyone for free.

The only appeal to getting the pass is getting all of it's items essentially for free, if you complete it. Rather then paying the same amount for just one outfit when it comes to the store.

However, as you mentioned most people won't like every single outfit or even most of them in a single Rift. And a lot of people don't care enough about the charms.

I agree with you. I wish the Rift cosmetics were exclusive, but the devs have made it clear that they don't want exclusives in their game (aside from charms). So we all have to just accept that or not play the game if it bothers us too much. I doubt they'll change their viewpoint on the subject. My best advice it just don't get the Rift if you don't like most of it's items. I do think the devs are missing out on money by not making those cosmetics exclusive. But like I said, I doubt anything will change anytime soon.

The problem with your argument is that the devs are about as consistent as a landmine. The devs originally loved exclusives, they would give them out as codes for all who showed up to their events. You know why those were given to the community? Because people were scamming fake codes and accounts with those exclusive cosmetics, they then went on to say that it was a Christmas gift to the community and did nothing but give a few charms during Christmas.

Then there was the legacy outfits that only pc players could get (reasonably so) that they still refuse to give out. So then what about the event exclusives? You know, the limited time cosmetics that you should only get during the event? Well guess what? Some people's game glitched so they lost them and now they're given to everyone, even though the exact same thing happened to people with legacy and the devs simply said there was nothing they could do about it even if the player supplied proof.

It couldn't get worse you think right? Except after giving away the event skins that didn't cost real money to go out and get the codes and no cases of scams, just a glitch that was the dev's fault, they then go on to say no more exclusives (except for legacy, but let's just ignore that, says the devs), but what about the other events? Let's make them grindy as hell but put the cosmetics in store so you're more inclined to buy it instead of grinding. Also for the 3rd year anniversary, despite saying we were done with exclusives, let's make an entire new event centered around getting an exclusive crown!

Like I respect you for being polite, but you can't use the devs statement as an argument, they've always said one thing then done another. Also I know the devs said the rift pass cosmetics wouldn't be exclusive, but the problem being is that they then went on to wait a year before releasing them without any comment on when they'd be put in the shop or why, so it started seeming more like a popular rumor then confirmed.

By that logic, people would already do that to counter slugging the entire team. Just designate one person to stealth and eventually pick everyone back up. But it doesn't happen. It's almost like relying on one teammate to not get chased isn't possible in this game with the variety of Killers and Perks that can help with tracking. Not to mention the massive disadvantage of having teammate that can't do gens or hook saves (because those actions would risk the Killer finding them).

Whole different ballgame, because in that case, the killer can actually kill the survivors. They're right for making this argument, not a like of killer perks help find a survivor who's actively hiding (as long as they're completely dedicated to hiding), but instead give a rough idea of the survivors location. It's why it's so frustrating to go against 2 survivors who decide to hide once the game has been thrown, it's incredibly hard to find a survivor who isn't actively playing an objective. In this case, the survivor could just hide while the other three play the long game, as they'd eventually win with the killing being unable to do anything but slow their progress.

  • Don't buy dlc's unless you really want the characters, and especially don't unlock their perks if they aren't something you'd use. It makes it less likely the daily will be on a character you want it to be and especially increases the grind on the blood web when you're consistently getting perks you'd never use.

That's what you took away from it? Also of course I'd know a lot about the game, my friends played the living hell out of it. There was a time that if I wanted to play with them, then it'd have to be on fortnite. Also not to mention it was the most popular game at one time. What would I gain from lying, that I'm a cool kid who didn't like fortnite from the get go? I don't play warzone, apex, pubg, and all the other battle royales either, like I said the genre isn't my thing. I especially didn't like the building aspect of the game, which is why I liked the game less the more players got better at it.

It costs way less to get a skin in the rift than it does after. If you finish the rift you get everything back you put into buying the rift so no I don’t care if people want to spend a lot more than it costs to buy the rift and play the game a lot then let them. No reason to complain if ppl want to spend way more money on skins than playing the game during a rift which might make them better.

That's considering you'd buy most of the cosmetics. In reality there'll maybe be two cosmetics you actually really want, most of the time it's one with the rest just being cosmetics for characters you don't use (then again, this could just be personal opinion but I believe this statement applies to most people). After that, it's a matter of how much your time is worth to you. Like I said that you just completely ignored, the only point to buying the battle pass is to save money (while still spending money), if only one cosmetic is looking good to you, just wait till it gets released and then you don't have to play the game anymore.

Like I said, despite having less tiers than most battle passes, it actually requires more grinding to max it out. That or there around the same and the game is just so repetitive that I feel like it takes longer. The exclusivity is generally the main appeal of the battle pass, after all, the only people who are willing to buy them are people who play the game enough to complete them and bragging that you have exclusive cosmetics is quite enjoyable.

For most casual players, the fact that it requires an average of 2-3 hours per day and that you need to play both sides to max it out will deter most people, the idea that they can just buy the skin they want later would seem way more appealing, would it not? So once again, other than the small portion people who play this game to an extreme, what is the point of buying the rift pass?

The Oni is way too powerful. I can't tell you how many times I have seen a powered up Oni take down an entire team after downing the first survivor. Pair this with survivor finding perks or gen pressure perks and its good luck you'll need it to have any chance of escaping the trial against that. My suggestion and feedback on this killer is that his power should reset if he downs a survivor with it activated. It is not fair to play against a killer that retains power after significantly hurting the survivor team with an instant down ability.

Man you're just plain wrong with this one. Trying to use the excuse that you solo-queue is your problem, not him being overpowered. He's supposed to be a stronger billy that just can't use his power as often. If your whole team goes down, that's your teammates messing up, not him being overpowered. No one would play him with your "suggestion," that's why you were mocked. It's because of your survivor bias, you'd rather the killer get nerfed than learn some counter play.

Time is incredibly precious to killers.

  • @Snowbawlzzz said:

Before this thread starts, yes I'm aware of how busted OP MoM was on release, I don't want to go back to that. Also, please refrain from the whataboutism. The problem is with the prerequisites. If I can't heal without the killer making a mad dash for me, I can't get the perk to activate. On top of that, I can't get downed or I have to start all over again. The perk simply has too many activation requirements for it to be useful at all. If they just got rid of the aura reveal on healing, it could be a good perk.

Or they could just rework the perk entirely to something like this:

"Taking a protection hit for a Survivor gives access to the self-healing action for 40/50/60 seconds. The timer is paused while being chased and for 15 seconds afterward."

This takes away the abusable endurance effect while giving an incentive to take protection hits, and the pause on the timer is long enough so that you don't lose the effect when the killer loses line of sight at a jungle gym.

With how broken it was beforehand, the devs rushed and nerfed it to the ground, similar to how they used to do with old killers when they were first released. MoM was so insanely broken before it was nerfed that I guess they wanted to make it "balanced" in their eyes but had so little time to test it before all killers started leaving that they didn't have much time to test if it was still useable.

  • Doctor isn't overpowered and he wasn't changed because a dev mained him. Survivors complained that the doctor required no skill in the beginning of the match (which was completely true) and he was quite weak other than that, so the devs decided to rework him. They removed the stance mechanic because it was outdated with his new ability and decided to be dumbasses and make it so that he couldn't do anything for around 3 seconds after shocking a survivor (which was reduced after the outcry of doctor mains).

The static blast was the new more skillful version of his field before the rework, which would automatically alert you of a survivor in your terror radius in the beginning of the match, making it impossible to avoid.

At the end of the day, Doctor is an anti-stealth killer, just because with the right build he can static blast the whole map, doesn't mean he still doesn't have to chase survivors. I'd say he's B tier at best and C tier at worst and doesn't require any changes at the moment, they should prioritize other things instead of changing doctor and nerfing Billy's base kit.

  • Need to completely rework his punishment so that it's better for both sides, and inflicts torment for landing. Also buff the cages, other than that I feel like he'd be fine. Though his purple add ons are a joke and need to be re-visited.

They need to add an option for color blind people and fix the auras. I'm not color blind but I have garbage vision and it makes auras practically useless.

It is underrated, because the effect of this perk depends if survivors are gonna use the flashlights against you. If there is no flashlight in the lobby or even the firecracker then there is no point of picking that perk.

Almost like I said to only run it if you see two or more flashlights.

  • Even though there's killers who are many times weaker without specific builds? Such a stupid argument, to clarify, there's not a single perk I actually need, I already grinded for the ones I want, but I still believe this system should be added instead of leaving an already dying mechanic to bury itself further into the grave.

At the cost not knowing how long you have to wait to get it? Especially now that the SoS is outdated due to the absurd number or perks? Yeah no. That's the equivalent of saying I should be glad that i can buy tiers in the first rift pass even though the grind was horribly long and basically forced you to buy tiers in the first place.

  • @Dead_by_Gadfly said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1457244#Comment_1457244

Just buy the character that has the perk you want. SoS is better for getting bps anyway. Let me explain.

Federal minimum wage in US is 7.25 an hour. You probably make more than that but lets just go with that number. Most characters go for 5 bucks. Earning 9000 shards takes a looong time. FOR SURE longer than an hour. So, if you think of your time as being money (which it is) then buying the character outright is cheaper. And its not like you need to buy every character at once, it will take you awhile to get it up to 40 anyway.

If you have a perk already thats in the SoS you get 150k bps for buying it again. Buying all 4 is 600k. It takes awhile to earn 8k shards, but it also takes awhile to earn 650k bps. Both take longer than an hour.

In all cases. Spending money is just simply a better use of that hour.

Another way of looking at it. How many hours are you going to spend playing that character? 40, 50 hours? For 5 bucks? Seems like a deal to me 🤷‍♂️

Not if that character is something you don't want, at all. If anything it'll inconvenience you as you now have another character that could steal your daily away from a character you actually want it to be on. Also if SoS is better for bloodpoints, then you're clearly proving my point, SoS is meant to unlock perks you want, if it's better to actually buy the character and grind instead, then it's doing its job poorly. My point is to add a system that doesn't waste your time anyways, if you could upright ignore having to both spend your money on something you don't want, grind just for the shards to get the character, and grind the bloodpoints to unlock the perk you want, then it'd be a better use of you time right?

That isn't a fact. You'll do fine as killer most of the time if you're decent. I can usually get at least 2 (sometimes all 4) kills against a good 4 man SWF. I don't even usually play a high tier killer. That is just your opinion.

Nah, like I said, objectively, killers are weak. Did I say you're gonna be constantly losing as killer? No I did not, also saying you can get 2 kills is like saying you died just before you could escape, doesn't matter, a close win is still a loss. I said any person can do well as killer, but that doesn't mean they don't have to sweat their ass off to do so, If the best survivors in the world faced off the best killer in the world, the survivors would every time. If you see a wraith or a clown in red ranks, you're gonna laugh your ass off as you bully them endlessly and make their experience extremely unfun. Some killers are weaker than others, but the fact that three survivors can always do whatever the hell they want while you're chasing one of them will always make killers weak.

  • @IronKnight55 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1457245#Comment_1457245

Can we stop exaggerating? Killers are not that weak. The only time a killer might struggle is if the person playing sucks or you're against a good SWF group. It's not that hard.

It's not an exaggeration to say killers are weak, that's a fact. Can they do well? Sure, but a group of decent survivors (not just swf) can kick a killer's ass without trying. There are plenty of killers who, even if the guy playing them has completely mastered them, will still struggle to beat a group of survivors (wraith, clown, leatherface, etc.) A common belief is that a killer can do nothing but take advantage of their mistakes, I can even use a match of my earlier today as an example. Was shaking off my rust as billy and starting to get good again, no chase lasted more than 20 seconds, with most them ending immediately with a saw, yet I got an entity disappointed and 2 escaped. Simply because gens got done immediately, all it took was one guy being a gen jocky to win the match, the three other survivors where all working on gens right next to me and I managed to get them off it every time. I don't believe it to be an exaggertion to say I made little mistakes, I'm an extremely competitve person and I was still satisfied with the loss, because I played well, but because gens get done extremely quickly, I still loss.

Sure you can argue that I should've just gone for the guy being the gen jocky, but that'd leave the other three to immediately hop on gens, hell the last gen got done specifically because I chased the gen jocky off that gen. You can say it all you want, but killers are weak. All the top killers require extensive amount of time to master to easily destroy survivors, and the weaker killers require even longer time to perform well (with the exception of spirit, played her like eight times and I kick ass with her). For the most part, if a player sucks at playing killer, then they're new to the game and they're also playing against new survivors, which for the most part, makes the killer win, because the survivors are messing up constantly.

There's not a lot of vet players still playing this game. And red rank means nothing. I even tried explaining to someone a devotion 1 red rank isnt a real red rank especially now since its easier to rank up now vs old rank reset and when we needed to put in actual hours to get to rank 1. You could play like a complete idiot and get to red rank. Im tired of team mates with self care in the corner of the map during a no ed. I'm tired of noobs getting to red rank so they think they're good but suck. I miss vet players. On the killer and survivor side. Killers that actually gave you a challenge and didnt DC after one loop and survivors who used common sense. I think what would get old vet players back is if we added a competitive mode. Based on devotion rank and certain challenges. Itd be ranked differently vs how its ranked now. Also its harder to level up and if you do an unsafe hook or something negative you lose waaaay more points towards it. This mode would be for vets and god tier players only. Like an actual rank matchmaking. This game has lost so much competitiveness and is now a "vibe" i miss old try hard competitive DBD with old try hard vets.

I came back for the event... only to realize why I left in the first place. Come back to the game just for the devs to give away my exclusive cosmetics, nerf my main of 3 years (for no reason, add-ons are fine, but his base kit? Really?), and to remember that killers are weak as hell. I'm beginning to lose motivation to start the next match again. Guess there's gonna be some people who will say I'm not a true vet, even though I've been following this game since beta and bought it practically the second it came to console.

Now I'm convinced that you're talking out your ass, either that or simply so bad at Killer you dont know any better.

I literally play the dude. The attack's thin and the entire area of effect is glowed in red before firing, making it incredibly easy to dodge. Sure if they're holding an item, it's easy to launch it while they're stuck in an animation lock, that's the only exception. I'm a rank 1 killer with a P3 Pyramid Head, so I hope I'd know the delay can make it easy to dodge the attack after vaulting or throwing the pallet if whoever's Playing PH hesitates because he doesn't want to be stunned for 3 seconds just because he missed a clunky attack.

That's true actually. Demogorgon seemed like a killer who was balanced enough to have both map pressure and good chase potential but his portals need some help

I think as long as you put them out of the way, you're fine. Him and hillbilly (at least current billy) are the perfect examples of both having map pressure and chase potential, both having counterplay so it's perfectly balanced.

If he is already holding his power and see me actually vaulted the window or pallet he release his power because I'm on animation lock. Even more easier for him to see me vaulting the window or pallet if I have an item on my hand, if I vault he knows because the item disappear, so he just release his power and hit me through the window or pallet.

He is kind of a combination of Nurse, DeathSlinger and Huntress...range killer with power than can go through walls, window, and pallets.

Also I would like to see the people here that gives expert advise on how to play against PH and DS...can you post a video of you playing against any of the said killers? It's easy to sound cocky when you got no proof.

What you're seeming to forget is that there's a delay between going for the attack and it hitting. It doesn't take very long to get out of the animation lock and immediately dodge left or right so unless you have perfect timing, hesitating will just result in the survivor being given an easy amount of time to run away.

And there we go, resident killer mains to say everything is fine yet again.

If you just stopped the screams for 60 seconds what difference would it make? Survivors would still need to waste time snapping out of it. Only difference is they wouldnt give away their location for the easy tunnel.....unless thats what you want

And there we go, resident survivor mains complaining about something perfectly balanced again.

Do you realize how stupid you sound? This is discussion board and the fifth of the community are killers, of course their gonna have their own input on the matter. If you want a room of yes-men then keep it inside your head, at least you won't find anyone to disagree with you there.

Reloading bottles would hardly slow him down, so the less bottles would have less of an impact. But since his bottles can also be used for map pressure, I wanted to make sure it wasn't too overwhelming.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1454716#Comment_1454716

    What would you recommend?

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1454717#Comment_1454717

He's only 110% when reloading. He's still 115% any other time.

I personally thought it'd be cool if he could choose between multiple bottles each with their own unique reload times and amount, effects too obviously. It says he made multiple but the afterpeace tonic is his favorite, so I thought it'd be nice if he could choose between multiple bottles depending on what he needed at the moment.

When you get past a certain amount of hours in the game, they will stop telling you which killer you are playing against. It could also be whatever rank you get past as well I am not sure but they do go away after a while so you won't be able to tell who the killer is. Hooks should not be made based off of who the killer is it completely removes the fear factor at the start of the game.

It's still the first time you face that specific killer, I can be in purple ranks and it'll still tell me it's the newest killer if I haven't faced them yet.

I think the developers are toying with this idea of reducing camping right now. The Executioner nerf removed the ability to deny cage unhooks (thanks OhToFu). The Cannibal and Hillbilly nerfs removed chainsaw camping.

I would agree to removing hook grabs until exit gates are powered, but I think implementing a differentiation into the game code may not be worth doing.

Leatherface camping definitely needed to be removed and they did that wonderfully, still disagree completely with hillbilly's new rework. Honestly, I grinded the living hell of PH and it surprises me that I didn't even consider that you could camp the cage, I knew you could tunnel but it definitely was a good move to make the cage teleport.

Usually I can come up with decent solutions but I can't seem to think of any good answers to this one.

Your thought process is very close to mine and I’ve experienced all the things you mentioned.

I am not anti-EGC camping scenarios either nor look down on that strategy because it’s all that’s left often times. Survivors can leave in that scenario.

I am against killers who give up after two gens pop during early game, hook a player, and wait for a grab because they feel they cannot compete with defending generators or win chases. I think the two health state grab is a crutch for killers and reinforces the poorest gameplay in DBD.

If in order to get a down it is equally as good to hit someone twenty meters away as two, the killer loses incentive to face camp.

While it is rare and petty, there are the scenarios you're referring to where a killer camps one person because they specifically want them to die. My problem with that scenario is that there's already so many second chance related hook perks that in the event the game you hooked is apart of a swf, you're gonna get blinded if you're not careful, then someone with bt is gonna save, and now the guy has ds to get away, there is NO catching that man once that happens, but that's only on the extreme hand of the spectrum.

There's always the case where someone just solo-queues and they get face-camped, in THAT specific scenario, I believe grabs should be removed, because the randoms just don't have the proper tools (sometimes intelligence) to save you, and that is probably the most unfun you can have in dbd, besides maybe getting slugged the whole match. At the end of the day, camping is a foolish thing to do during a match (besides end-game) and if I see that there's no point in saving, I'll just apologize and gen-rush. Camping is a scummy thing to do and it takes advantage of other's kindness.

Basically I don't think removing grabs is the right solution, but there should definitely be something done about it.

Multiple people here already sugested to make missing M2 less punishing in trade for a short cooldown when canceling M2.

It would even make playing more interesting. I dont want to play a killer that 90% of the times is better to fake using the power than actually using it.

His punishment for missing should just be decreased in general, the way PH uses his power at the moment is so bland that it's dumb. No PH ever tries a shot through the wall even though they can in chase, cause it's just not worth it. It's easily dodge-able and heavily punishing on PH, making them only use it at vaults and pallets. They'd need to improve the punishment by a lot to make it worth as its own stand alone tool and not just a zoning one.

  • @boobsandlubes said:

How to know if PH only fakes his powers to zone you out or not faking it?

It's guessing for both sides man, that's why it's unfun. The window to hit a punishment is so small that a PH can't hesitate to see if you're gonna fault or throw a pallet, they have to guess. Same thing applies to survivors, they have to guess whether or not he's faking the punishment or if he's gonna commit.

  • @Zeus said:

I wish the upcoming killers focus their power more on gen defense instead of on loops. Maybe a secondary ability for loops but not completely focussed on it. A better pig maybe?

Too bad that would immediately make them a weak killer. Killers need power in chase or they are garbage in high ranks.

Fun is not getting a 4k for me i just wanna play the game even sweaty swf groups can't ruin my fun

If you don't play to win and you like him then go ahead man, I'm not gonna decide for you whether or not you have fun with a certain killer, was just saying that if you're competitive, then maining him wouldn't be the best choice.
