This is the exact standoff I’m arguing about. I know you’re saying the grab cancels but in my experience the killer just M1s.
The killers M1 for the most part because of the broken grab, but when there's multiple survivors nearby, the killer really can't afford to M1 because if he does that survivor will just run away and another will say. I don't like camping until end-game, I don't think a single killer should be judged for camping during the end-game, but if you just had a bad match against a swf of toxic survivors and they're swarming you like moths while you're camping the hook, then removing the grab would make killers get bullied at yet another thing in this game.

Honestly i'm quite surprised that Springtrap wasn't one the options, considering how controversial it is right now. I'm not gonna shove it down anyone's throat or try to be annoying about it but I'd genuinely like to see the dude in the game, seems fun.
-
At the moment, survivors take advantage of the grab anyways, they'll start saving for just half a second so that when the killer goes for the grab, it starts then stops, allowing the survivor enough time to save, and since the killer was likely stuck in an animation, they'll only get one hit off, allowing both survivors instead of trading with the guy who saved right in front of your face.

Personally i find clown very fun to play.
Clown is arguably the weakest killer in dbd right now, so sure in the lower ranks you'll have a nice time but in the higher ranks you'll have to sweat your ass off and run good add-ons if you want a chance at the 4k. Personally I think he's pretty fun to play but I would never run him at high ranks if I don't have to.

Why say "next" when you're just gonna completely ######### all over the next idea someone has because you think these ideas come from entitled survivors?
Because whenever someone makes an unreasonable request, then they're just being entitled. So they're gonna get called an entitled BLANK main, if a survivor whines that noed is overpowered then a killer is just gonna call them entitled, same thing will happen if a killer says unbreakable/decisive strike combo is overpowered.
-
@JasmineDragon said:
at higher ranks you learn to outright deny all use of flashlights. The only time they can confirm it is when you are breaking a pallet, which actually LOSES you time, because the killer has ears and can just follow you while invisible. The time it would've taken to break the pallet actually awards more time than the investment in the flash. With the lightborn update flashing will now be incredibly dangerous, as 7 seconds of aura reading after an attempted flash save will allow the killer the benefit of bbq at close range. Flashing was bad before, but now it really is just worthless
Yet you're saying it would be dangerous when at the moment, the only thing the buff would do is allow you to see their aura for 7 seconds. Also it doesn't make the survivor lose time, sounds are broken, they're unreliable for hunting down survivors while blinded, this gives plenty of time to throw the killer for a loop. Also not every scenario allows you to just face a wall, and smart survivors will crawl out in the open if they notice someone trying to save, and while the bait can work against dumbasses, standing over a survivor is completely different then picking them up. Lightborn is ONLY useful against a team of flashlights, I said this clearly in my post, but it works wonders against a team of them. I used to believe the same exact thing until I started actually running lightborn, if there's multiple items that aren't flashlights, then run franklins, but like I said, if there's multiple flashlights, running it can make your life so many times easier.
-
@YaiPa said:
no, lightborn grants at best 1 free hit when somebody tries to pallet blind or flashlight save. period. sure, it's always good not being worried of being blinded, but that wouldn't be a problem if flashlights angles weren't so ######### up.
It's not about a free hit, it's about survivors wasting their time by trying to blind you instead of running away while you're breaking a pallet, never claimed it gave you a free hit, but made it easier to end a chase because they have less time to find a new loop.
-
@GeordieKiller said:
im going to give lightborn a go getting tired of getting blinded even at angles where i go like how did you blind me ?!
It's extremely satisfying to pick up a survivor while not facing a wall knowing there's someone waiting for the save. There's absolutely nothing they can do.
-
@Pulsar said:
While I would run it in a meme build, Lightborn is simply outclassed by other perks, like Franklin's. There is no reason to run Lightborn if you have a decent headset and face a wall when you pick up a Survivor, or, pretend to pick them up and get a free hit on the person who tries to flashlight.
Lightborn is good, but it is extremely niche and you would be better off taking other perks.
Would've agreed with you until I started running it against multiple flashlights.

IMO it’s a combination of auto aim, low FPS and slow turning with controller. Sometimes the killer does just miss, there are PC killers that miss 360s.
But it’s definitely gonna be funny to watch console survivors learn that 360ing won’t have the same effect on most PC killers when crossplay comes out.
Exactly, seeing survivors not aggressively spin around on PC makes me sad to see that it only works on console. It's easy to dodge literally anything on console.

You’re so annoying, forcing your opinion on everyone. It’s in the toy sections and children’s book sections & little kids act all giddy about FNaF. That’s enough for people to think it’s childish.
FNAF isn’t scary. Some people find it childish. Just respect it instead of refusing to accept differing opinions and acting so rude about it.
Anything that's popular can be overtaken by children, you could find cod lobbies where the entire objective was kill people endlessly and there'd still be little kids screaming at the top of their lungs for being killed.
It's just factual that the lore of the games isn't child-friendly, it's just not, but because big youtubers with lot of children fans, the games also became invested with children. Also do you not see the "General Discussions?" We're humans, colliding opinions are only natural in a section where we're supposed to talk to each other, he didn't even insult the guy, just said the lore is morbid, that's it.

Stranger Things is very old-school. I think it is mostly done well. It is solid in my opinion. A tad bit of comedy, but the monsters are no joke. There is nothing to joke about when it comes to the Demogorgon and how it is portrayed in the franchise. If you see that thing, it is all business.
Please don't misunderstand me on the horror genre. I don't think many old school horror fans shun the "new stuff" simply because it is new. Plenty of the old stuff went to the doghouse years ago and there is lots of good stuff being put out. Freddy and Jason went into the joke realm decades ago, but the original movies were great for their time. There are lots of new things out there that are good. I'm not even saying that FNAF is bad, it is just not something I think many of us find as horror. Entertaining, sure, but horror...not really.
As for the comment someone made about the "elephant suit" on the clown, well, that is what it is. The Clown's original concept was pretty old school concept of a killer clown. The elephant suit, I'm not sure where that even came from, but it is now just a joke.
Many of the killers in DbD are fantastic in their lore/concept. Billy, Trapper, Nurse, Doc, Huntress, and even Deathslinger are characters you don't want to run into in the dark of night or the remote wilderness. Legion....I'll thank them for the knife and scare them off with harsh words. lol Hit or miss...it is what it is.
The elephant suit was added because of the community contest where people gave the devs their own cosmetics concepts and the elephant suit was the one that won.
While I think it's fine for people to be completely against Springtrap being added into the game, I have to debate with people who aren't just talking with their emotions and try to give a genuine reason as to why they'd be a bad addition to the game.
You say that while stranger things has comedy, things have to get serious with the appearance of demogorgon. My problem with that is that it implies you wouldn't and that's completely false. I used to love fnaf when it was popular so I'll explain the origins behind springtrap (sorry if you already know but I feel that if you're trying to say Springtrap is a complete joke, then you don't know).
Springtrap was a child murderer who then stuffed the corpses of children in animatronic suits in order to find out how possession works in order to obtain immortality (I think, it's been so long so someone correct me if I'm wrong), however it backfired because he was then hunted down by the spirits of those he killed, resulting in him hiding in a springlock suit (which is basically an animatronic suit that could have all the machinery moved so that someone could use it as a normal costume, however due to a malfunction all the machinery snapped back into place, resulting in him because being pierced in crushed while inside, causing an extremely painful death. Then he possessed the suit while his decaying corpse while still inside yada yada no need to know more. Pretty dark right? So I don't get how people could feel like he's too goofy or that he shouldn't be taken seriously? The only thing I can see having trouble with is how could they make it look natural for a rusty old animatroinic suit to be running at 115% or 110% movement speed.

-
@PassarinoT said:
Can I ask what crack-head billy is? I've heard of the rest, but that one is unknown to me :o
Yeah, sure no problem. If I remember correctly, crack-head billy is when you run both speed add-ons, which god-tier billys do. This makes it so that it's actually impossible to dodge a well placed curve, because they practically teleport to you. Of course this means they can't use their chainsaw normally in chase anymore as it takes like 5 seconds to charge up but you move all the way across the map in like 4 seconds and you can curve like no man has ever seen to make up for it. Since you might not know, hillbilly will have a few seconds after just starting his charge where he can move left and right extremely easily, which is the mechanic used to curve, since it's based on time not distance, running speed add-ons allows you to make much more dangerous curves than normal.

Smaller maps make them faster to traverse. They also spaced out looping tiles like jungle gyms even more creating more dead zones. Easier for Billy to travel. And I'll take some new stats but there is no reason to think his kill rate would have changed much from the 75% it last showed. Also the devs didn't say they were satisfied with how he played. They said for the most part. Meaning they weren't satisfied with some aspects. Namely his ability to chainsaw non stop all game with no down side. Thus the cool down.
No the "for the most part" was add-ons, saying it's his base kit is stupid. Once again size does not matter, if he was able to get from one side of the map to the other in 8 seconds, then the map reduction reduced it to 6 seconds won't make much of a difference now will it? There's also still the fact that he gets stunned for a few seconds after stopping his chainsaw sprint, and it's easy to dodge when he's far away so there's still plently of counterplay, if he uses his chiansaw to catch up, then use the 3 seconds you got to start moving towards the nearest loop, if you still can't with that then it's not the killer's fault but map rng or your fellow survivors using all the pallets.

Devs use stats to determine what is too strong in the game. Billy has a better than 75% kill rate at red ranks. Thats too strong so they add a cool down so he can't use his power non stop. Just like every other killer. What may have seemed a somewhat balanced in the past no longer is after Ruin was changed and maps were shrunk down. Time for change.
Except that's just plain wrong, two things about that in fact, first thing you see for is the stastics of kill rates after ruin and doc changes, not the most up-to-date thing but I doubt there was such an extreme change. Billy has a 27% 4k rate, not the 75% you claimed earlier, and the devs wouldn't have said they're satisfied with how he is right now if he had such a high kill rate. Another thing, Billy of all people wouldn't suddenly become broken due to map changes, he was the map pressure king, it doesn't matter the size of the map but rather the shape that affects billy and with the change of ruin, it hurts billy more than helps so that doesn't matter either.

Honestly, I love that Idea, it actually makes me feel stupid for not thinking about it. Missing your saw causing heat to your chainsaw is a near perfect solution, it emphasizes to new billys that they need to land their hits and not carelessly use it as well as give a small window to survivors for a billy that just finished their chainsaw sprint to run away.

TLDR: Come on just let us keep using the insta down chainsaw all game. It's perfectly balanced, I swear.Please?
It is perfectly balanced, just because the majority of the killers are weak, doesn't mean a strong one is overpowered, it just means the weak ones need to be buffed. The chainsaw had plenty of counterplay, you weren't able to do that then you just need to get better at doing so, I'm far from what you could call a survivor main and even I had no problem looping your average Billy, and if a person mains Billy to the point where he's so good he demolishes me then I'm satisfied, any person should deserve to be able to do that if they spend enough time doing it.
If you're not gonna bother to read then leave, this is a discussion, not a complaint, I gave my stance with my beliefs as to why they're correct and asked for people's own opinions on the matter. I don't care about survivors who are so bad at the game that they complain about any killer as long as that killer beats them.

What makes you think I have thousands of hours🤗you still haven't answered me properly, bud.
If you want a genuine answer then I think I can some pointers. First off, second chance perks, you've probably heard this plenty but time is already drastically stacked against killers, and with second chance perks rewarding survivors for messing up, it only makes you have to chase them for longer. Also you said what are you supposed to do, get tunneled with dark sense? Wrong, Ds makes a survivor pretty much invincible for 1 minute after being hooked and it wastes your time, you can be stupid and just say "well don't tunnel them," the problem with that is that survivors with half a brain cell will immediately take advantage of that ds to do whatever the hell they want for a minute. Second chance perks waste the killers time even more. Like another person said as well, very few perks reward a killer for being bad and they get called bad for using them.
Basically it's like this, a swf with red ranks can complete all the gens in less than 10 minutes, each using perks that waste your time which causes a frustrating experience.

Honestly I play on console and don't get me wrong I think she requires skill to use, but I only have her at level 17 and maybe about 2 hours of playtime and earlier today I completely destroyed a team of rank 1s. Her ability is extremely convenient to have and I understand why survivors want her nerfed. Bill though, like you said, the devs suck ass for what they did to billy.

You have a pretty good idea where it spawns and if hook perks worked for it then that would actually be good for you, it would open up new strategies with bbq and devour hope would be amazing on him. It also still saves you time.
No, if anything it's better that way, you have to decide whether it's worth it or not, yes it still saves time at first, but like I've said three times now, the cage can spawn right next to another survivor, instantly killing the pressure you just got. Having an educated guess as to where the cage is doesn't even matter, because if you decide to haul ass over there immediately, there's still the chance a survivor won't be there and now you've wasted your own time. Another thing, while looking you could just accidentally run into it and it immediately respawns elsewhere. Making the cages affected by hook perks would help survivors way more than killers, I don't get how you can't understand this, by making them affected by hook perks they'd just become inferior hooks that take slightly less time to get to because you don't have to carry the survivor.

I also play console, my problem with Pyramid Head is just the cages, his cages counter a lot of perks and enable you to easily tunnel someone if you understand the spawns, how does that hurt you?
Like I said, hooking a survivor brings a lot of pressure onto the map because one survivor is temporarily put out of the game and someone else has to go grab them with the killer nearby to make it worse, with cages however, it automatically puts the survivor far away from the killer and he doesn't know where they are, making there little to no risk to saving. Cages would just become worse hooks if they didn't counter hook perks, there'd literally be no put in using them, the only exception would be if you're being swarmed by other survivors with flashlights and the downed survivor is at a pallet.

@GrootDude said:

Oni is actually pretty fun to face and nobody places LF because they think he is weak. Pyramid Head is actually quite strong, don’t know why you think he isn’t.
He's not horrible, but he's far from strong. His cages are situational, with them being more likely to actually hurt you rather than help (since the survivor is randomly put across the map from, allowing survivors to instantly save and lose the little pressure you had), so you either save it until final judgment or use it when you know they have ds. Survivors rarely step on trails unless they absolutely have to so now half your kit is rarely used even if you're given the opportunity to use it.
Punishment of the damned is worse though, it's good in theory but "in theory" doesn't exactly apply in reality. Due to the lack of being able to move left and right and the inability to flick, any survivor can easily predict where you're going to shoot, but it gets worse. It takes a second to get it out meaning you can't quickly pull it out and fire like the other two ranged killers, there's a giant ass warning where it's gonna hit and it's delayed so it's easily dodgeable, and with the extreme punishment for missing, you're only gonna go for guaranteed hits or shots you absolutely need to hit (like say you won't catch up before the reach the exit gate so you risk the shot), but since the window is tight for the shot (due to both getting it ready and the delay of the shot), survivors can easily fake a pallet or a window to get you to fire, if you hesitate they'll have enough time to dodge after vaulting or throwing the pallet, but if they realize that then they can just fake it like I said earlier. This makes his ranged attack the worse of the three, and since his other side of his kit is so situational, it makes him a pretty bad killer, well more like mid-tier.
Also for some context, I play on console so the controls are pretty ass anyways but I have him on P3 (with most of the bloodpoints earned while playing him) so it's not like I'm talking out of my ass here.

Because I’m tired of Pyramid Head getting away with that strategy.
They already nerfed PH's ability to tunnel, he's a bad killer, any more than this is utter bull. If you want to complain about certain killers being best at unfun gameplay, then complain about oni and leatherface too. Oni's the slugging king and Leatherface is the camping king, just because PH takes the position of tunnelling king doesn't mean he should be nerfed. The entire point of the cages is to counteract those perks, without them, the cages would be even more useless than they are now.

@Customapple0 said:
Devs are being a lot more careful with addons. They mostly compliment the kit of the killer rather than make them more powerful, which is the way it should be. A killer shouldn’t have to rely on add ons to win.
You're pretty funny, have you seen Billy's new add-ons? They're a complete joke, and exactly, it should compliment their kit by improving something, survivors can bring in items with extremely powerful abilities (with little to no downsides, unlike most killer's strong add-ons) yet killers can't? Their add-ons should buff or make up for one of their weaknesses, not to the point where it's unfun mind you (like insta-anything killer builds or 5 blink nurse), but some of these add-ons change literally nothing, like survivors getting obliviousness for 15 seconds after stepping on a trail? In what scenario would this be useful in every match you play? If you have an add-on that only has a chance to be useful for the match you're gonna use it then it's situational, making it bad. The add-ons are getting worst and worst, to the point you have to question the thought-process behind the creation of them.
-
@Macymj6 said:
Hes already an A tier killer. Doesn't need anything else. His add-ons are fine.
If you think he's A tier than you're either brand new, or a garbage survivor main. I agree that there could be some hidden potential we haven't found yet, but he is not strong, mid B tier at best, high C tier at worst. He was accidentally made the tunnelling king which they took away practically immediately and like others have said, his ranged attack is just worst than the others. Since cage is so situational and his ranged attack is worst than the others, it makes him pretty weak, like I said not the worst, but far from A tier. You're really trying to compare this guy with Huntress, Hilbilly, Spirit, and Clown (obviously Clown is better than you guys think, the devs said so after all). Also no, his add-ons are bad, do you even play this killer?

Kate and David would've stood out because they are two of my fave survivors. Huntress I look forward to seeing what mask she has on, same with Trapper, so again would've stuck out - especially if it was one I didn't see often. No one is wearing those cosmetics, atleast not on PS4. If people were actually wearing them I could understand being upset but people are just having them sit in their inventories - that doesn't seem like a very special cosmetic. 🤷♀️
That's exactly it man, I play on PS4 too and the player-base was tiny back then.

The event items were still free when you got them from playing the game during the event. If they were so special people would be wearing them, I haven't seen 1 of the 4 released today in a single game since 2018. People are flipping out that others might wear them but most likely will just sit in their inventory just like those that played the event.
Lisa cosmetic people have paid for and actually wear because they find it worth it - similar to those that found those single free cosmetics worth a grind. Difference is when the Lisa cosmetic does eventually go on sale those that bought her at the original price won't be flipping out about how unfair it is that others will get to use that skin when they didn't pay as much. Just like with current cosmetics, dlc, or the full game going on sale or becoming free now doesn't result in people getting upset that they paid full price when others didn't have to.
People are overreacting WAY too much over a free cosmetic when they constantly complain about wanting everything else in this game to go on sale or drop in price.
It's the thought that counts man, sure I don't use Kate so I don't have much use for her shirt, but I had a ton of pride in my pro-pain so it feels like betrayal for the devs to say they won't release them just to do it anyways. Also there's so many cosmetics now, back then there was very little and since it's been 2 years the cosmetics have only gotten rarer (or rather, they were getting rarer) so it's natural you wouldn't see it often. Plus it's likely you just don't remember, at most you'll be like "oh cool they have that" and then forget about it after that match.
-
@bm33 said:
Everyone against giving the cosmetics to people that didn't play the event to get a free cosmetic - you are also against them doing sales/lowering price of the full game/DLC/cosmetics(like Lisa) since people bought those first at full price, right? I mean, it's not fair someone paid full price for any of those when they first came out and later on others get them for less/free. If you're that upset over a free cosmetic you must get more upset whenever those price drops happen since that's real money, right?

You complain about the game charging you for cosmetics, you complain when they're free.. when do you not complain?
I have all the event cosmetics that were released since I started playing. I could give 2 dmns about people now getting them for free... I never really paid for them either... I got them as a bonus for playing the game daily... like I do when there's no free bonus anway. Do you even use those cosmetics anyway? lol... cmon, they are from events from 2 years ago... stop being greedy.
Because people worked for them, told they would remain exclusive, and then out of nowhere the devs were just like "nope!" and made them free. No on cares if everyone gets something for free, but when someone works for it just to have someone who didn't get the exact same treatment, of course people are gonna get pissed off.

Aren't we so generous," what people are pissed about is that there's still people who have been waiting for 3 WHOLE YEARS to get their legacy cosmetics back about the loss of progress but we don't see the legacy items being added to the community for free.

I've got 5 pieces of Legacy myself and after seeing this tweet I feel like maybe it's time they just give it away to everyone as almost everything has lost the exclusivity: https://twitter.com/PaulieEsther1/status/1275163639482331139
It's been years and as much as I love my Legacy, I wouldn't really mind if other people had it. Plus the people that lost their Legacy would finally be able to get it back because they truly got shafted.
For the people that really wanna hold onto their exclusivity they could just treat it like the streamer cosmetics and place the originals into the Artifact rarity or something like that.
Honestly I'm so pissed about my exclusives being given away for the sole purpose of it being so annoyingly inconsistent, they say they don't want more exclusives yet they keep making them and for some reason the only true exclusives on console were given away with the excuse that fits perfectly for legacy too, that some people lost it unfairly. If everyone was willing to give away their exclusives, I wouldn't be stubborn either.

I have a better idea, why not make all characters able to prestige 6 times. So for prestige 4,5,and 6 make it so every killer gets a legacy like skin.
Literally thinking the exact same thing.

legacy are unique imagine if now everyone has legacy whats the purpose of using it if everyone have it? is like the old code cosmetics,(claudette, meg, david) now no one use them because everyone have them, they were so unique and proved u actually had a lot of hours in the game or that u spend lots of money on ebay to get those codes, with legacy is something similar, it should saty as it is, you dont deserve them because people had to grind a lot back in the day to get them, also even if they look good they are kinda outdated tbh, wich is more is a guaranted ebony mori 90% of cases becasue the killer will thnk they are going against 4/5k hours people.
But it's the exact problem people have here, what's the point of grinding for the event cosmetics when the devs just give it away for free?

Dont worry, in 48hrs (at max) they will find something new to complain about.
Probably because they specialize at pissing the community off.

Yes. Yes it is.
With how long the bloodweb itself took time, with how expensive stuff was

The Grind isn't entirely equal for everything.
Just wanna say, I completely agree on the difference between the grind, but one was an event and one wasn't. The bloodweb was absurd back then but it wasn't like they said "Oh and by the way you gotta start from the beginning and do it all in four days," it was a reward to all the players who struggled through it. You weren't supposed grind for legacy, you were supposed to be rewarded for playing the game despite the broken bloodweb. The event required a lot less grinding but it was a hell of a lot less shorter too.

I'm sorry but I'm on switch and always wanted a legacy item, since DBD came on Switch in 2019, we didn't have any events you guys had so I guess it' s fair for people who got the game after everything was done.
These aren't legacy items, they're event items. Also your argument is selfish, I play on console so I didn't get the chance to get legacy but I'm not screaming I deserve it just because I didn't have the opportunity to get it.

Couple days ago people were getting angry over the price of a licensed cosmetic, now getting upset over cosmetics being given away for free? They really can't win. 😂
Completely different, one is 5 dollars more than usual with the difference being guess what? You can't change it in the slightest, worth it right? The other being cosmetics that you could only get within a short period of time after grinding just for it to be released to the public for COMPLETELY free. You're making it way too simplistic.

It's not a matter of prioritizing newer players over older players, it's actually quite the opposite. Back then, the way event cosmetics were stored were much less secure than recent events, and it made them susceptible to loss of progress (the reason why we needed to return them to people in the first place). We originally decided to return them only to the people who had earned them in specifically to not alienate long time players who had worked for them. Despite our best efforts, there were people missing who should have received them and didn't: The data we had at the time was not robust enough to catch everyone.
So in short, some of the people who did work for and earn them didn't receive their cosmetics back, and there was nothing we can do for them. Those long time players were out of luck. The idea of not alienating long time players ended up alienating those long time players.
It's unfortunate, yes, but leaving those people behind is not an option. This is the fairest way we can handle the situation. This shouldn't be a problem for future events as the way we store rewards now is much more secure.
I call bull like many others, that's just a petty excuse. People who lost their legacy should take priority then, they worked their asses off harder than we did and I see you doing nothing about it. Don't try to play smart when you're so obviously contradicting yourself.

Well the answer is quite clear my man. According to behavior your loyalty is a long-term customer is worth about the same as a steaming pile of dung.
What saddens me most about that is that it's wrong in both ways. They care enough to not give away Legacy but say it's for the "community's best interests," like how?

As many of you may have noticed, hitting survivors on the hook is no longer a thing. Instead of the regular blood splat, now dust just comes off like you hit a wall. So killer bm has literally been patched out. My point is this: Why is our bm patched out but tbagging and flashlight clicking is left in. I don't care how petty of an issue you think this is. It shows a direct, blatant survivor preference from the devs. I want my bm back or take away the survivors' ; All or nothing.
It's highly unlikely that this is the case. It's more likely to fix the auto-aim tech where survivors could get you to hit a still hooked survivor so that they could save while you're still recovering.

To anyone who isn't aware, the howling grounds and scorching summer EXCLUSIVE event cosmetics were now given to the entire community for free.
All those people who grinded their asses off to get those cosmetics while they were available have now just been given the middle finger, myself included. We weren't given any reason as to why, after all, it was different from the code skins that were only available to PC and people were scamming other's because of it. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I remember being told that the devs said that they wouldn't be giving away these cosmetics because people actually had to work for them, in game. It pisses me off that the devs are so inconsistent when it comes to exclusive cosmetics.
Switch and Exclusive get their own exclusive cosmetics despite them saying they don't want to make exclusive cosmetics anymore, then there's the rat's year exclusives cosmetics that were given if you logged on for a certain period, and the trapper shirt for buying merchandise before a certain time (another cosmetic exclusive to pc) that were never discussed. What pisses me off is that they then go on to spit in my face by trying to justify that it's different from legacy. How so? I don't have a pc but I've been following this game since Alpha and I believe it's completely justified for them to keep their legacy, they deserved it, but there's no difference between the two. Both had to be earned before the time limit. Sure you had to work harder for legacy but it wasn't an event, it was a reward to players who grinded their asses off in general to prestige before the bloodweb rework, I seriously doubt there was a large amount of people who suddenly decided to P3 a bunch of characters upon hearing of this mysterious "Legacy" item at the time, most likely it was something along the lines of "Oh cool, now I get exclusive cosmetics AND don't have to deal with that horrible bloodweb again." With the rest just finishing the pretiges they never got around to completing.
Now don't get me wrong, I didn't have the howling ground cosmetics, I took a break from gaming during that time and I REALLY wanted them, but I knew I missed it and that's final, no room for debate. "We are all too aware that users who earned Legacy and suffered a loss of progress will be incredibly disappointed with this news. To those users, we offer our deepest apologies and hope you understand why this decision has been made," no I don't, and stop saying "disappointed" cause no one is "disappointed" about losing the exclusiveness about the cosmetics they worked for, they're pissed. So it'd be a simple "loss of progress" is someone were to lose their legacy, so that makes the event cosmetics even less than a "loss of progress?" There's already plenty of cosmetics in the shop, there was no need to make these cosmetics among all the exclusives public, the code ones made sense, not this. Go all or nothing, legacy, trapper shirt, death gardens exclusives, mobile exclusives, all of it, and then stop making new exclusives. That or take this back, I don't want the howling ground cosmetics that I didn't earn and I definitely don't want some random newbie running around with the exclusives cosmetics that I got from 2 years back when I worked my ass of to get it.
You can say I'm whining all you want, but I love the idea of exclusive cosmetics, the sense of pride I get when I possess a rare one and envy when I see one I don't own is great. That envy for my scorching summer cosmetics didn't hurt anyone and they're not worth enough to scam people for it. If you're worried about that Behavior then you better be eyeing Legacy because those are a hell of a lot more likely to be used for a scam.

As a survivor main.... this will not fix ANYTHING
It will fix a lot actually. Just because you don't like the idea of not sitting your ass down on the gen the second the game starts doesn't mean it fixes nothing. It's perfectly balanced.

i really like it. they should just make survivor cosmetics brighter and maps darker. adds to the horror theme.
Or just make the killers more intimidating. This game never really has been about horror. it's had that theme but only stealth killers can scare you, not the map. It's just lazy to make an extremely small and make it dark as hell to even it out. It's easily my least favorite map.
