Bring back splinters.

I'm sure everyone who's played dbd for a long time has had this happen to them before (at least for killers). You see a new character that looks a bit interesting, you decide to buy it (either with shards or cells) only to find that you don't like playing them, they just aren't for you. The problem with this is there's no refund mechanic and now you'll have the chance to have a daily on a character you don't want to play.

This has become even worse now with the introduction of the archives. Some parts of the archive will be completely cut off from you because you don't own that character, and it's a serious problem, the devs are practically telling you that you're forced to buy those characters if you want even the slightest chance of completing the rift.

So here's my proposal, not only do you bring them back, but you make them more common as well. Now I'm not saying that you'll be drowning in splinters, cause that'd be a huge pain as most of the time you won't even want to play that character, so instead make the splinters for the characters in the bloodweb more common. This'll improve your currently garbage reputation (if only slightly) and also benefit you as well. If a person if forced to play a certain character to do a challenge, and come to find that they actually like the character, then you just earned yourself some cash (unless they got the shards).

This is quite the simple solution to an annoying problem and I hope someone among the devs see this and consider it.

They got removed cuz players who have all characters don’t want their webs flooded with an offering that has no use and costs 7k bp

  • Disliked Splinters just because you played the killer on base.

I'd mention I might be a rank 1 Billy but why am I being matched on that when I play Huntress or Nurse? Wrong thread but doesn't that kill variety in anyone learning a new killer?

Even simpler solution, only allow splinters to appear on characters you don't have, if you have them all, them they won't appear.

I mean I guess that could work but they stopped making them a long time ago only ones they had left were cannibal and nightmare they would have to get a lot of licensing permission to add those in again

  • Killers should be testable in Custom Matches, even if it's just restricted to their 3 Teachables and no Add-ons.

Let's you test them before you decide if you enjoy them enough to purchase them.

The problem with splinters was that people who already had the character had splinters on the web and as they didnt know how to fix it and they noticed that it doesnt increase the money they can milk to their expectations they quit it.
