Blood Echo should not have a cooldown at all. Seriously.
-
This is the first actual stats I've seen from MMR. The stats the devs released on the last Q&A had both the ranked system and SBMM, so it isn't really reliable. Thanks.
-
No. It's a dead perk since CoH.
-
I used to run Ruin/Pop but Ruin 9 out of 10 matches gets cleansed in less than 2 minutes, and when I took off Pop I realized how little time it saves you considering you have to commit to a gen kicking animation. Now I run mostly Corrupt on all my killers, with Deadlock or NWO if the survivors look strong on my lobby.
I'm actually winning way more games, and also having way more fun because Corrupt and NWO/Deadlock are passive slowdowns and survivors can't really get rid of them.

Also, look at this great system.

I've played a lot of Survivor since MMR came out. I was playing with my friend who has well over 100 days. Here's what our teammates had.

This was Meg's first game.

Dwight is slightly more experienced. Still, 1K hour Killer, 2K hour Survivor, 3K hour Survivor and then 13 hours between the last two.
Same here. I have 2,3k hours and my friend has 1,5k and we got paired with two survivors with less than 50 hours in the game against a 800 hours killer.
-
Adding "skill" based matchmaking on a game filled with unskillful things was a mistake.
-
Nah, they don't. The occasion I finally decided to turn off endgame chat forever I was BMed through the entire match doing adept Demogorgon and at the end they even told me to neck myself k.
-
Oh no, not Twitter Problems ™ again...
-
You would be able to heal yourself mid-chase too easily.
-
It's a noob-stomper addon.
-
Ah forget it, I remembered now that Black Box from Freddy exists. That is the worst one by far.
-
Iridescent Family Crest from Oni: https://deadbydaylight.fandom.com/wiki/Iridescent_Family_Crest
It's an Iri addon that straight up DOESN'T WORK. Oni looks down whenever he misses a Demon Strikes (unless you hit a wall), so you can barely see for a second the bubble notifications. And even if it worked it would still be laughable. It's just a worst Infectious Fright for when you... miss attacks? Lmao.
-
In my opinion they finally tweaked the MMR. There was something weird that allowed average killers to get high MMR survivors. I have a friend who only plays killer during the weekend and he was getting 4k hours survivors. Now he's back to getting average survivors. So if you're high MMR survivor, your queue times are probably long again.
-
NWO is great. Pop feels like a placebo after the timer nerf and how fast survivors can undo the regression, and Ruin even with Undying rarely lasts more than 2 minutes, so having 1 minute of guaranteed slowdown, especially at the endgame where survivors are at their weakest due to having spend most pallets, is great. It's a perk that consistently scores me kills and even 4ks.
-
I tested the nerf a bit more and he's still pretty much the same strength wise if you run something like Monitor or Starstruck to compensate the TR nerf.
I don't blame everyone who left though. I used to be pretty good at him, but now I'm relearning him again. Unnecessary change.

Balancing every single map in the game is a huge task though and will never be done. Turning off (or tweaking) map offerings could be done in a single patch.
Well, both are probably never going to happen tbh.
-
They will never get rid of map offerings because the population on Low/Average MMR likes them for fun purposes. It's the high MMR that uses them for gameplay advantages. Imagine someone who just started playing the game and is a huge Halloween fan, so they put a Haddonfield offering just because he likes the map, he doesn't even know it's a god tier map for survivors.
What they need to do is balance the maps. Balance them and map offerings aren't a problem anymore.
-
Just revert the nerf and it's fine. Pop is a very bad gen regression perk right now because the timer is too short for any killer that isn't Blight or Freddy. Before the nerf you could sometimes get another down before having to kick a gen, which makes the regression way more worth it.
Now, when you put on paper the time you spent walking to the gen, kicking it and the distance the survivor that was working on it gets, it's literally a placebo perk. Especially now that Toolboxes are a thing again with the Built to Last buff, a single survivor can easily undo the regression you made. It gets vastly outshined by Deadlock.
-
Vomiting new content every 3 months while the base game is still a broken mess makes me believe they really don't care about the balance. As McCote said on a very recent interview, just "embrace the chaos".

This is something I'm starting to realize as I play more - killer perks are very interactive. They have risks, counterplays and complexities and can change my playstyle up completely.
Survivor perks, with maybe 3 or 4 exceptions are very bland. They have almost no risks or decision making aspects to them.
It's why I really struggle to play much survivor, and while it's relaxing it can also feel like a chore.
Yup. Boons right now are so good, and so much better than Hexes, that totems now feel like survivors' belongings instead of killers'. Killers have to sacrifice 1/4 of their build with Thrill/Haunted/Undying just trying to get use out of a hex perk, while survivors have to sacrifice only 1/16 or 2/16 out of their perks to get an immense value.
-
Killers don't "do bones". They snuff them but survivors put them back on anyway shortly after. I'd be fine with doing bones if getting rid of them was actually a risk survivors would have to take.
-
2206 hours. Around 80% as killer.
-
Tracking by sound is not an easy to develop skill. She isn't as hard as Nurse or Blight, but she does take more skill than more than half of the roster imo.
-
They won't do anything. The money they make from people playing with friends far exceeds the money they lose by killers not wanting to play against them.
If you want my advice, learn the high B, A and S tier killers. Everything below that is pointless to play, because they rely too much on lack of coordination and survivors being potatoes. So basically stay with Nurse, Blight, Spirit, Plague, Oni, Hag, Twins, Huntress, Slinger, Pyramid, Bubba, Artist. Legion is like bottom 3 atm so the fact you got three hooks against a good survivor is something to celebrate.
-
Hexes are so bad right now that totems feel like survivors' belongings instead of killers'. Imo they definitely need a buff, especially now that survivors are looking for totems even more because of boons.
Also yes, Mikaela's design is boring AF. They threw away the opportunity of making the first middle age/old female survivor, instead she looks like a wannabe witch from TikTok.
-
It should be 5% (nerf Pop to 20%) and have the same regression as Ruin. 319 seconds to regress a gen a single survivor can do in 52 with a toolbox is just stupid. I also think the animation should be slightly faster, maybe the same it is with Brutal.

They're no longer pushing through the last gen injured with CoH in the meta. You say Ruin and Pop are bad regression but you are getting way, way more than 60 seconds of regression out of those perks compared to No Way Out.
How often are the gates opened as all 4 run out? Not very. You usually still end up with one on the hook as they're opened. I'm not implying Blood Warden is great, it needs buffs. Just pointing out how No Way Out is worse than a perk that already needs help.
Good players will just wait out the duration of No Way Out while being no where near a door.
Well, Ruin in my experience gets done in less than 2 minutes 9 out of 10 games, even if paired with Undying, and Pop is just a placebo perk. You lose a ton of chase time and survivors can undo the regression you made in seconds with Prove Thyself or a Toolbox. In the current meta with boons I think passive regression is the way to go, especially Corrupt and No Way Out. Killer regression is just laughable compared to survivor progression.
No Way Out easily scores me an endgame snowball more frequently than not. It gives a noise notification of which gate survivors touched, so hiding through it is easier said than done. In fact it's so good that NOED + NWO had to be banned from tournaments.
-
@Blueberry said:
Probably shouldn't do that. However honestly, the perk already is quite mediocre and highly overrated by people. I can't think of a single match where I'm like wow that perk really carried.
I think you would on average get vastly more kills running Blood Warden...a perk that is already extremely situational and arguable mediocre itself and could use buffs.
I don't think it's overrated. Considering how bad gen regression perks like Ruin and Pop are right now due to being inconsistent, having a guaranteed slowdown of 1 minute at the endgame imo is huge. Especially because survivors usually try to push through the last gen ASAP while injured, so you can easily snowball.
I doubt BW would give more kills though. It's easily countered by 99ing gates.
-
It's the same as Whispers. It guarantees the last survivor isn't going to escape through the gates at the endgame.
I don't feel bad because the survivor already had a chance with the Hatch.
-
Low A. Good antiloop, good map pressure tool.

Yes it is insta loss, doesn't change that camping is not fun for the concerned survivor and not fun or the killer that does not play.
My thread just meant that BHVR has to do something to prevent camping/tunneling and to balance the game in order to give a chance to all killers.
But hey if you cannot understand between the lines, not my fault. Ppl doing shortcuts cause they cannot think outside of the box 😅
So you think BHVR forces people to camp due to game balance, but you still think players who camp should be banned? Nice logic then.
-
If anything your video proves Blight is S tier. He gets a whole 9 hook states while playing addonless and borderline perkless as Shadowborn is just a QoL.
-
MMR is based off kills and escapes only according the own devs. My kill rate is above 75%, so it's safe to assume I'm at least on high MMR (maybe not top, but close).
-
I think the best maps for killer are Dead Dawg and Midwich. These maps are incredible small and have super easy 3 gens to defend. Dead Dawg with that gallows area is a horrible offender because the only safe loop next to it is a shack with a breakable wall.
I'd only put Shelter Woods and Azarov's as slightly killer sided. The sheer size of these maps make them automatically hard for any killer without mobility.
Everything else I agree tbh. I think Haddonfield is worse than Cowshed because at least some killers can deal with all those safe loops on the latter.
-
Funny how OP has a very recent post titled "Chasing/patroling with most killers = insta loss" defending camping.
-
That's just a problem with the pre-drop meta than an Oni one to be honest. If gen efficiency wasn't so high that survivors could just waste pallets like crazy he would be fine.
-
He's a M1 killer at the core. The only thing that can save him is scrapping up his power and redoing him.
-
"I proudly wasted his time by not trying to kobe." LMAOOOOO
-
I hate this challenge with a passion because everyone starts using Haddonfield offerings.

Then there needs to be meaningful skill based interactions outside of looping. When you go against the Nurse, Pyramid Head, Nemesis and The Artist, the best strategy is to hold "w" and run to the furthest corner away from your teammates and pre-throw pallets. It's almost the same for The Doctor and Deathslinger, although you can somewhat loop them.
Survivors only have 1 thing they can do, that's loop. Unless another mechanic is added, then for survivor gameplay to be interactive, then killers have to conform to looping.
I would say add perks that temporarily prevent powers from passing through walls. Maybe a perk that prevents powers from passing through walls and pallets in 32 meters for 30 seconds, when you vault a window. Or a perk that has tokens and when you activate a token, powers can't pass through walls and pallets.
Then survivors have meaningful interactions with those type of killers.
This perk already exists. It's called Cringe Harder.
Oops, Dead Hard*
-
Thrill of the Hunt could be decent, but it's a Hex, so you'll probably lose it in less than a minute anyways. Imo it doesn't deserve to be a Hex anymore.
-
After patches like that one which made flashlight and pallet saves require no timing I have no doubt. Things like saying Wraith is "a wee bit OP" or "you killer mains!" just cement it even more.
I don't blame them though. From an economical point they have no reason to cater to killer players, because they are only ~20% of the playerbase. They'll just throw a bone here and there so survivor queues don't get too long.
-
As a killer main, honestly I prefer RCPD than Badham and Haddonfield. RCPD sometimes spawns nasty 3 or 4 gens, and if you hook someone at one corner of the map and everyone is far away, it's a guaranteed struggle state.
It doesn't make it a good map though. It shouldn't exist.
-
I like Version 2 more, it's actually the idea I had for the nerf.
-
Of course not. He was already one of the worst performing killers.
One could arguably say he was one of the most balanced killers in the game. Insane 1v1 with a terrible 1v4. Compare that to killers like Blight and Nurse who have insane 1v1 and insane 1v4 as well. However, he's ruined now.
-
You don't. A killer that gives 8 free health states to survivors will never compete against good survivors. He's a low/average MMR killer.
-
Well, blame the devs for not fixing maps. While maps like Cowshed and Badham are still a thing, I'm not letting go of Nurse, Blight, Huntress, Slinger, Artist, etc.
